Eternal Sands

(okay, this is the THIRD TIME I've tried to post this D:)

Cody watched as the first copy was obliterated by Vyala's tackle, and then as the Vulpix launched burning embers at the remaining Aipoms.

"Avoid and use Sand Attack!" Cody spoke clearly. all the copies but one got out of the way of the fire, and landed on a section of sand. Using their tail-hands to whip the sand into the air. It wasn't aimed at Vyala, but the air around Silver and the clones, to be used as a veil. Silver stopped focusing his energy on the clones, and they vanished, further providing a veil with some of the smoke. Silver, who was concealed by the sandy veil did nothing until Cody spoke again;

"Thunderpunch!" he called out, and suddenly a loud crack erupted from the sand veil. The cover of sand suddenly exploded, shooting sand in all directions. As it fell to the ground, Silver could be seen, his tail surrounded by crackling electricity. Some of the fur on his body was standing on end from the concentration, and he was falling quickly towards Vyala.

(I promise it'll get more epic with Lucario)

"Ah, there he is," Chibi said, shielding her eyes from sunlight as she watched Silver plummet. This had to be the real one, for no other purple monkey came up with a charged Thunderpunch just waiting to be launched. "Vyala, before he hits, Safeguard."

Vyala mumbled and closed her eyes. A transparent barrier suddenly surrounded the Vulpix, attacks could penetrate it, but it prevented any status problems on the user. Useful when facing a Thunderpunch, Chibi thought. "Now, wait until Silver's closer, then use Fire Blast." Chibi commanded. Vyala mewed in agreement, and suddenly stood on her hind legs, using her tails to balance herself. She watched Silver closely as he dove straight at her, his tail raised high and crackling with electricity. Suddenly, knowing when the time was right, Vyala breathed in and concentrated. She exhaled, producing what could only be descrivbed as a giant firball. It was huge, at least as big as a Drifblim, and was sent rocketing towards Silver. But that was not the best part, as Chibi knew when she had seen this attack used countless times, it exploded on impact, hence the "Blast" in Fire Blast.

(It'd better, before these short posts drive me mad)

"Dammit..." Cody mumbled, faced with a giant fireball flying at Silver, "Hit it with your tail!" Cody cried out. Damage would still be taken, but perhaps it would lessen the damage from the blow, perhaps even drive through it.

Silver's eyes widened, and soon, a concentrated look etched itself on his normally bubbly face. He flung his tail, with sparks now leaping off of it, in front of him, and began a spiral. It seemed that Silver might be surrounded by a thin electric veil, but the result was not such. As the electric charged tail made impact with the fireball, hell broke loose. The sphere broke into flying flames, a literal explosion of fire. Because of the way Silver hit it, head (tail) on, it shattered a good foot in front of him, releasing most of the flame around him.

However, Silver was not free from all harm. He had gotten hit, right on his left shoulder, and had gotten a good-sized burn. He fell to the ground, next to a small smoldering patch of grass. Drifting from battle for a moment, he used his tail to stamp out the fire.

"No more toying, Water Pulse!" Cody ordered. As Silver took a moment to prepared, Cody hollered over the battlefield, "I think you'll learn just how versatile Silver really is!" Cody said with a hint of sadism. "Go!" he cried.

Silver spun around on his feet, and out of his tail materialized a sphere of water, which flew out across the field. As it moved closer, it didn't lose shape, and remained a solid sphere, like a bowling ball of water. After his attack was launched, Silver cringed a bit as his tail was shocked, having used a Water attack that quickly after an Electric one.

(This may sound creepy, but I love how I'm getting hit on by another guy. ::) I'll just say this in advance, I will not allow it to end up being "I kissed a girl and I liked it!" with the opposite gender inserted)

"Alright! Chibi verses Cody!" Brian cheered when he got back to his seat after getting Axel his banana split. Cody looked magnificent standing in the sunset. By scenery alone, Brian could tell this would be fun. Throw in the fact that both Chibi and Cody are amazing fighters meant that this showdown would be one the judges would likely cut short again. "I'm rooting for the person who's name starts with C!" he declared. Kari sat next to him with a small tub of strawberry ice cream.

"Want some?" the other boy asked passing Brian the bowl. Brian responded with a confused look. Ever since they had met, Kari had been acting really friendly toward Brian. Maybe he was just really friendly to begin with. But sharing ice cream? That's a little odd.

"No thanks." Brian said casually. "I'd steal a bite from Axel if I wanted some."

"Like hell you would!" the golden Infernape rejected wrapping his arm around the bowl guarding it.

"Oh come on! You steal food from me all the ti-" Brian was cut short in his remark when something cold fell on his lab. He looked down to see his pants covered in strawberry ice cream. "Kari, what is this?" Kari however had just cast aside what was left of his ripped bowl and was licking himself clean. So it had been an accident. Axel's mocking laughter at his trainer was cut short when his own tub collapsed sending chocolate covered vanilla ice cream with nuts and bananas all down the front of his fur. That promptly shut him up.

"I take it back Kari. I will have some of your ice cream." With that Brian started scooping the melted cream of his crotch and shoving it in his mouth until he couldn't get any more. Brian tried getting the rest but although he could get his head between his knees, he wasn't flexible enough to reach his crotch. "What ever, I'll change my pants later." Axel had also succeeded in cleaning himself.

Getting back to the battle, it would seem Chibi had learned something from him. She had Vyala destroy all of Silver's double team clones with Ember, just as Brian had Riolu do to Vyala with Swift. After that, the two Pokemon duked it out exchanging various elemental attacks up to Silver's most recent being a Water Pulse.

(After all this time it felt so awkward writing a post that wasn't a battle scene. Funniest part is my post is longer than both of yours XD)

Funniest part is my post is longer than both of yours XD

(....I hate you. *kidding!*)

"I think you first need to realise not to underestimate Vyala!" Chibi retorted, giddy at her unbelievable luck. "Vyala, Will-O-Wisp!" She grinned, she couldn't help it, Cody was about to realise his mistake the hard way.

Vyala fluffed her fur and sucked in her breath again. But instead of violently spitting out a sadistic exploding fireball, she breathed out gently, and a bluish white ball of flame came into existence. The ball wasn't that big, only slightly bigger than a tennis ball, but deadly. It drifted almost lazily across the field, leaving behind an almost invisible trail of smoke behind it. As it bobbed across the field, it inevitably collided with the incoming Water Pulse. There was aloud hiss like someone deep-frying a snowball, and the two attacks seemed to explode and a thick cloud of mist suddenly sprung from the collision place of the two attacks. White clouds of steam rolled across the battlefield, thick, almost like fog.

"Now, remember where Silver was? Use Zen Headbutt." Chibi commanded, her voice a little muffled by the steam clouds. Inside the steam, Vyala was having the time of her life, but she yipped in response and began rushing forward. She remembered where Silver had last been, and her head suddenly started glowing with a bluish light, her golden eyes misted over with blue, and her entire head was glowing a bluish Psychic light. Vyala charged at the shape in the steam which looked suspisciously like an Aipom, savoring the moment the attack would hopefully hit.

(Yay longish post! But needz moar of Cody shutting up about that Lucario. :p)

Kalseng was suddenly jolted awake, having apparently stumbled down a flight of stairs in his state of almost sleep. He looked around absently, and found himself staring down at Cody and Chibi, locked in a pokemon battle. Kalseng groaned as he readjusted, rubbing his sore back. A small, green pokemon was curled up in the chair next to him, snoring gently. Kalseng nudged the pokemon, who slowly opened one slightly agitated green eye with a look that said 'What do you want?'

"C'mon," Kalseng said, pulling the pokemon into his lap. We owe them the respect of staying awake, at least." The trainer grabbed the small canine and stood up, stretching out his non-occuppied arm.

"Down in front!" a particularly angry voice called from the back. Kalseng recoiled inwards and inched out of his row, moving towards the edge of the arena. He put his electrike down, and the canine quietly padded along behind him. As they came to the edge of the coloseum, Kalseng's pokegear began to ring. As he raised it up, Rowan's face appeared in 3d above the display, and Kalseng clamped it shut. No time now. His eyes lazily fell back onto the battle, a canine pokemon curled up at his feet.

[[OOC: LORDY. I went to post, and TWO OF YOU POSTED. JEBUS. SLOW THE FECK DOWN. D:]]

(Okay, screw this. I'm gonna let Silver get pwn'd. Moar Lucario moar faster.)

Cody didn't even have time to call out to Silver, as he was quickly hit by Vyala charging at him. Her aim, too, had been remarkable. The ram had hit his burn. Silver literally flew out of the fog, and landed at Cody's feet. Some dirt dragged behind him.

"This is just a bit embarrassing. " Cody said with a smile, plucking Silver up and forcefully returning him to his Pokeball. He sighed, and looked out around the stands. A few people were laughing. He whipped an Ultra Ball out of his pocket, and, as he flung it onto the field, the call erupted;
"Psychic!" was the order, and as a form took place, the fog dissipated. In it's place, a Lucario, standing nearly motionless. His eyes were glowing a deep blue, the same shade the fog was being moved with. What was left of the sun was now shining clearly on the field, instead of being blocked by a smokey steam.

"Well, Chibi, hope you enjoy battling Lucario." he said "Now, Aura Sphere." his face tweaked into a sadistic smile. Lucario happily obliged. He began to focus his energy into a blue sphere, that was steadily growing into the size of a dodge ball. The space around it gained a distorted look, as the light energy, along with Lucario's aura, merged together. Without taking even a step forward, the ball was launched upward, and spun as it climbed. For a moment, in hung in the air, before taking a direct divebomb for Vyala.

(OOC: Psycho, your post made me laugh so hard. Poor Axel XD Anyways, I don't really expect Brian to be singing anytime soon, it's just that Kari's been feeling terribly lonely. If you make it outright clear you're not interested, he'll probably hit on someone else, like Chibi :p )

"Oh crap," Kari whipped his head round to see Brian scooping the pink mess from his crotch. Flustered, the feline started to rummage through his pockets. "I am so sorry. I think I have some tissues..." By the time he found the crumbled, lint-covered packet Brian had already given up.

"Whatever, I'll change my pants later."

Kari sighed and turned to stare at the field. Why was that no matter who he was playing as an escort, he'd act the part perfectly, from klutz to ballet dancer, but when it came to him being himself he always screwed up? It seemed he'd already built some animosity between Brian and himself. Hopefully it wouldn't spill over to the others, they all seemed like such nice people...

"Sorry." He muttered dejectedly. Watching now, rather than merely staring, he saw Cody's Lucario send a ball of blue energy hurtling at Vyala. Yes, they were good people and great trainers. Perhaps he'd cut his holiday short and just go home. He had some jewellery and trade secrets to flog anyway. Besides, these friends were most likely globe trotting adventurers, hunting Legendary Pokemon, not the least bit interested in getting wrapped up in his world. Sighing again, he decieded to put on a 'brave' face at least. Standing up, he cheered for Chibi.

Maybe he just looked like an idiot.

Aero couldn't get any rest although he was exhausted. He decided to get some fresh air and leave shadow in the room. "she will be alright" he thought "I've done this before"

when he got outside the air was starting to cool. Aero zipped up his sweatshirt. something made him shiver but he blew it off. aero walked the streets of this unfamiliar town.

Before he knew it he walked into a man watching a battle. "hey watch it punk" the big burly man said. "sorry.." Aero said and the man completely ignored him. Aero walked around to the other side of the ongoing battle. "Hmm seems interesting enough" Aero mumbled.

"Well, Chibi, hope you enjoy battling Lucario. Now, Aura Sphere."one of th trainers said. Aero looked up at the trainer who just gave the command. The face looked familiar but he couldn't place a name or even a place he had seen this trainer before. The night seemed to be getting a little colder but nothing big. They were by the ocean so it was naturally cool at night.

Aero intently looked at the ongoing battle unaware of what else was going on

Shadow awoke to find Aero was gone. "probably out for a snack" she thought then drifted back to sleep.

There was a knocking at the door but shadow didn't wake up. The next instant two men broke down the door. Shadow, startled jumped straight at them. this was exactly what they wanted. They caught her and stuffed her in a bag leaving no evidence. No one saw them and they left without a trace.

OOC: sorry Cody I needed someone to make contact with... don't know what it will amount to and I don't know where im gonna go from there.

[[OOC: LORDY. I went to post, and TWO OF YOU POSTED. JEBUS. SLOW THE FECK DOWN. D:]]

((HURRY THE FECK UP. And I'm flattered Tatile.))

"I shall enjoy it," Chibi said as the Lucario made its appearance. Seconds after it was released, the fog cleared, revealing a blue-black-tan canine that was walking upright on two legs, its face completely calm as it observed Vyala, whom was about ten feet away. "Heh," Chibi muttered to herself, "that calm look reminds me on Xenzu." She paused for a second to remember that calm look her Lucario always carried around, but was brought back to the present by the words "Aura Shpere".

Lucario's aura briefly flared up, making it looked like some sort of organic lantern, before the aura began to flow into the Lucario's paws, condensing together to form a distinct shape of a sphere. Of course, when could you ever use a Lucario in battle without commanding it to use its signature attack at least once? Never. The blue sphere was tossed into the sky, where it went up, up, up. Then it slowed and seemed to hang into the air for moment, then it went down, picking up speed like Skydive in one of his insane dives.

"Cody," Chibi began, watching the sphere fall, counting down mentally. "If you think," nine...eight..."we are going to beaten so easily," five...four..."you are sadly mistaken." One. "Dodge it!" Chibi shouted, Vyala crouched and leaped to her right, the sphere crashed to the earth where she was just standing, creating a tiny crater in the ground with a loud whumph. "Besides," she whispered, "we have the advantage. Flamethrower!"

Vyala snarled, then brought her head back a little, then spat out a great river of fire from her mouth. The air shimmered around the red and orange flames that streaked through the air, heading for the Lucario.

"Really, too predictable, Chibi." Cody laughed as she commanded Vyala to use Flamethrower. Cody took a a moment to watch as the river of fire poured out, and shimmer in the dim light that remained from the setting sun. "Psychic." Cody commanded lazily.

Lucario's eyes glowed a deep blue. Without moving so much as his arm, the fire was suddenly encased in a strange blue glow. The crowd was in awe at the spectacal before them, the blue energy contrasting the red and orange fire. The fire was held, encased in the energy, for about ten seconds. Then, it simply vanished. A lack of oxeygen, combined with Lucario's attack, had extinguished it. The Aura Pokemon's eyes stopped glowing, and returned to the normal red hue.

"Now then, Water Pulse!" Cody called out. It was probably a pretty predictable move, but what fun would a battle be without cliches? Lucario took a moment, and soon his paws were encased in a sphere of water, swirling opposite directions of each other. Lucario took a single step forward, thrusting his blue arms forward. Both sphere's of water flew off, and began spinning eratically around each other, soaring through the sky. As Lucario returned his arms to his side, the spheres where spaced out, in a way that would be nearly impossible to avoid both.

"Heh." Cody laughed, staring Chibi down.

"So are you Cody," Chibi called, returning his gaze with an almost sadistic one. Did he honestly think he could stare her down? She would have laughed if she hadn't been so preoccupied. "Smart," she said, commenting the 'wheel' composed of two Water Pulses. "But I'm smarter. Dig Vyala." Vyala growled and her front paws became rusty blurs as dirt flew into the air as the Vulpix dug a tunnel leading under the earth. As the last marroon hair disappeared underground, the two orbs splashed into the earth. "Now," Chibi continued, "keep him at the disadvantage. Captivate."

Vyala grumbled a protest as she popped out of the ground. She shook off the dirt from her pelt and turned to Lucario, the light of battle leaving her eyes to be replaced by a gentle, warming look. She wagged her six tails in a friendly way and yipped, internally she was snarling with rage, she hated being flirty with her enemies. But Chibi knew what was best, that was the only thing that kept her move up.

"That's enough," Chibi suddenly said, "Heat Wave." Try and block that! She added triumphantly

Vyala gratefully stopped her rather embarrasing move, and fluffed up her fur. Once again she gently exhaled, but nothing came out of her mouth. The air abruptly became very hot and began shimmering, it was as if the sun suddenly turned itself up. Vyala was strictly keeping the damaging heat of the fiery air in the battlefield, so no humans were hurt, but Lucario would get full force of the harm, and with the heat trapped in a smaller area then that damage would increase.

(Bleh, it looked longer in my head.)

Vyala disappeared beneath the field. Chibi was a tactical, but it didn't really take much to understand that fire and water didn't mix well. Sending your Pokemon underground was much different to the usual feeble dodge most people thought of though.

Mephisto's Ultra Ball was feeling heavy all of a sudden. Giving his belt a quick glance, Kari noticed that the ball was shivering and a slight glow was coming from the seal.

"Wow, he really wants to get out." Muttering to himself he unhooked the ball and set on the empty seat beside him. The Charizard could come out when has ready, but not now. There was a battle to watch.

The battlefield around the two Pokemon grew hazy. Slowly Kari realised this was the effect of the Heat Wave Chibi had just ordered. He must have missed the Vulpix performing Captivate while faffing with Mephisto. (A shame really, Vyala must have looked simply adorable.) The shimmering air made watching the match slightly harder for him, as the fighter's outlines wavered. With the setting sun this was turning into quite the specatcle.

Mephisto's ball started to shake more violtently. It was now rolling fiercely across the seat, but still there was no sign of the dragon releasing himself. He was most likely just having a hissy fit, Kari decieded. Choosing to ignore his childish Pokemon, Kari tucked his knees beneath his chin and hugged his legs. It wasn't the most comfortable position in the world, but concentrating on it would help him to feel less like a social invalid. At least, he hoped it would.

Eagerly he awaited Cody's next move.

(OOC: This written entirely without access to my document on Kari and his 'mons because I don't have a working computer! *punches random pillow*)

Cody rubbed his face, a bit frustrated. That Captivate that Chibi had used could easily hinder the battle. Lucario would have to start moving soon.

"Okay, Psychic, use it as a shield!" Cody called out to the Aura Pokemon. Lucario turned, then looked back at the oncoming wave of heat, and nodded. His eyes closed, and when they re-opened, they glowed blue, once again. The color was not as consuming, however, and some of Lucario's original eye color could be seen behind the glow.

With a slight step forward and a silent grunt, Lucario thrust his arm forward. A cone of deep blue psychic energy shot out, growing larger as it moved further from him. It moved through the Heat Wave, giving an interesting sight as the blue energy was distorted by the heat, and then pushed it away. Lucario was hit, but, not by the full force of the attack. It hurt, but Lucario showed no outward signs of it.

"Well, enough of playing a distance, for now, anyway." Cody said quietly to himself as the heat passed over him a bit. "Lucario, we're getting in Chibi's face, use Magnet Rise!" Lucario looked back at Cody, and a small smile passed his face. Using the Steel attributes which Chibi had tried to exploit, Lucario reversed the magnetism in his feet. He floated just high enough to nearly eclipse the setting sun to anyone facing him.

"Thunderpunch." Cody said simply. Lucario focused, and began flying forward, propelled by magnetism. As he moved, a massive amount of Electricity began to build up in his right pawhandthing, encasing it in a golden energy. Outside of the energy, lightning bolts swirled, crackling. As he got closer, Lucario increased speed, and pulled back his paw, which was now formed into a fist. He began the slight descent for Vyala, and began to thrust his fist toward his target.

(Yes, I made a flying Lucario. Let's go back to the two-move a turn thing?)

Hmmmm. Get in her face? Not that bad, Vyala was good in long and short range attacks. It was just that little flying stunt that made Chibi bite her lip for a moment. Okay, think of some sort of defense against that, fast. "Vyala!" She shouted, "shoot its face with a Fire Blast!"

Vyala had at max a few seconds to respond, but she was well-trained, and had all the time she needed. Drawing in a huge breath, she held it until the crackling electrified paw was barely a a foot from her nose, and shot. A giant fireball exploded out of her mouth, just as a black paw came through the flames and landed a hit sqaurely between her eyes. There was an electric jolt that jarred every vertebra in her spine, the impact was so much that she was actually sent reeling away from the spot and she landed in an untidy heap a few feet away. It hurt, not as bad as some things that she went through, but it felt as if someone had tried to shove a block of cement through her ears with a sledgehammer.

"Vyala!" Chibi called, she knew a blow to the head was serious if done correctly, and she felt a relief when Vyala staggered to her feet. Only to stumble and fight for balance.

"Damn this hurts," Vyala murmured. Every time she moved the world reeled sickeningly, and she couldn't hold still because her muscles wouldn't obey her brain, which was still hurting. She heard something shouted. Safeguard? That what it sounded like. But why Safeguard? The move that--oh. Concentrating (and failing rather miserably) Vyala somehow managed to execute the move, and unresponsive muscles instantly worked fine, and her headache lifted quite a bit. It still hurt, but not that nauseating feel. She braced her feet in the dirt, ready for the next round.

Cody winced as Lucario punched through the Fire Blast. That no doubt hurt him, but it looked as if Vyala took most of the pain from that collision. the poor fox staggered, and seemed to be fighting to even gain solid ground.

Lucario landed softly, without so much as a sound. As this happened, Cody noticed Vyala using Safeguard. She must have been paralyzed, or else Chibi had no real reason to use it.

"Time to finish this, Lucario." Cody spoke calmly, "use Swords Dance, then Earthquake." Lucario looked back at Cody, a slight shine in the Aura Pokemon's usually calm eyes. He leaped, at least ten feet back, from where he stood, and landed on one foot. Lucario kicked his left foot, the one already raised, forward, jumped, and landed on his left foot, right one in the air. Erratically, his arms became a blur of blue, black, and white. Lucario leaped into the air, energy at an all new high, and did a flip, plummeting towards the ground he had just left. His right hand formed a tight fist, which slammed into the ground with an intense force. The ground of the stadium tore open, just as it had so many times in the previous battle. Lucario landed softly as the shaking and shattering came to a close.

(Let the comedy commence!)

"Oh Cody," Chibi chuckled. "This is far from finished." She crossed her arms as the earth began trembling. She looked at Vyala, who was still awaiting calmly for an order. Under the smile Chibi was wearing, she was frantic for an order. Vyala had to get off the ground, or else this would be quite a dent in her health. But then again, Swords Dance was for physical attacks only, and the Earthquake wasn't really much more powerful, but there was a slight difference in it than the ones the Aerodactyls had been making. But Vyala couldn't fly, but she had to get off the ground, in fact the only thing that was flying the the Lucario and--oh snap the Lucario!

"Vyala!" Chibi shouted joyfully, noticing the Lucario still under some of the effects of Magnet Rise, it still hovered above the ground. "Quick Attack! Jump on the Lucario's head!" The are-you-high-or-something? look that came from Vyala was priceless, but nonetheless Vyala trusted Chibi completely, and carried out her order. A reddish blur rocketed across the field, twirling around the fierce cracks splitting the ground and leaping the final few feet and plopping squarely between the Lucario's ears.

Chibi choked down a laugh, the sight was hilarious and adorable at same time, but Vyala was safe from the earthquake's tremors. "While you're up there you might as well use Bite." Chibi called across the field. Vyala's eyes brightened, she instanly dug her claws in for a better hold and snapped out her neck, her pearly canine fangs closed around one of Lucario's ears, which she gave a shake.

(At first the whole thought is funnier than hell but the mental image is so CUTE.)

(This might be the funniest, and most insanely cute thing I have ever read. Mental image is pwn. And Earthquake is a physical attack... xP)

Lucario 's head was banging and shaking frantically, trying to get Vyala off. Cody was no help at all, he was far too busy laughing.

"OhmyGodchibi!!!" Cody laughed as he buckled over and reached into his pocket. The hell with the battle, he needed a picture of this. After a quick flash of a digital camera, and a nasty look from Lucario, Cody managed to regain a bit of focus. "Oh-hah-hokay, Lucarir heehaah Lucario, use Bone Rush!" Cody continued laughing as the Aura Pokemon attacked. Lucario extended his right arm, it glowed with a bright white energy, and became as hard as the stone far beneath the stadium. (Okay, it's an auto, but to get out of this would be total hax) Lucario hit Vyala twice with his arm lightly, weakening her bite, and then, with one final blow to her side, sent Vyala flying off of his head, and tumbling a distance away.

At this point, Lucario was on the ground, the effects of Magnet Rise completely worn out. "Calm Mind...." Cody held back laughter. It was kind of ironic, telling him to use such a move after what happened. Lucario gave Cody another less-than-pleasant look, but closed his eyes to concentrate anyway. He rose about three inches off the ground, no from magnetism, but from pure concentration. Lucario was suspended for a moment, and then came softly back to the broken up ground.

"Go on, Chibi." Cody smirked, "after all, this IS far from over."

(I would draw a picture, but I can't draw pokemon OR canines for shit.)

Chibi sucked in a huge lungful of breath noisely and straightened up. And almost doubled over again. The entire scene of Vyala chewing on Lucario's ear like a newborn pup with a chew bone (Chibi faintly remembered those times when Vyala was newly hatched) then Lucario hitting her with annoyance in an attempt to get her off his head was enough to make anyone hit the ground; thankfully that did not happen now. The ploy had worked, and now Vyala had gotten up and was making her leizurely retreat back to Chibi. "You enjoyed that didn't you?" Chibi asked when the got close enough.

"The hell I did," Vyala replied, grinning maliciously and spitting out a few tufts of blue fur that got stuck in her teeth.

"Right, now Howl." Chibi comanded, still trying not to laugh. Vyala wiggled, threw back her head, and howled a long, bloodcurling note. It was long and vicious, yet if heard for extended periods of time, it seemed almost mournful in its own way. The Fox pokemon snapped her jaws shut and glared at Lucario with a newly kindled light of anticipation in her eye. "Hey Cody!" Chibi called, "send me that picture sometime! I'm going to use it on my wallpaper for my laptop!"

Vyala rasped in her throat, sounded for all the world like she was snickering in amusement. "Now, Payback. Just the regular style." Chibi said, interuppting her merriment. Vyala spun and charged, her paws glowing just the faintest black, her sprint was topped with a lunge that swiped her paws towards the Lucario's chest.

(Yes, I really would make that a wallpaper if such an image existed.)

(Name three people who wouldn't! xP)

Vyala was making a charge for Lucario. A newfound spark of excitement was in her eyes from the howl. It was a boost to her attacking capabilities. Her tiny paw was glowing a faint black, it was the spirit of her vengeance embodied in an attack. Her sprint was finally topped by a leap, and Vyala's paws were making a swipe, right for Lucario's chest.

"Let her hit, then Dark Pulse!" Cody called to Lucario. He had no time to glance back, just to focus. He was playing by sound, and, by the aura that he could sense. His anger and annoyance from the battle was being focused in his chest, right were he anticipated Vyala's chest to be during the attack. He could hear her breath, and sense the excited aura coming closer to his chest. Lucario felt the first swipe hit his chest, which caused a decent amount of pain to sear the left side of his body.

Lucario ripped his eyes open, and a pulse of pure dark energy was released from his chest, and shot forward in front of him like a ray. The dark energy went through Vyala instead of knocking her away, and it continued across to about the halfway point of the stadium. It was there that it diminished.

Lucario looked back at Cody, and smiled. He was enjoying this battle. "Bulk Up" Cody said plainly. Lucario was Cody's last Pokemon. Chibi wasn't done with Vyala, and her second (and last) hadn't been out yet. Status Boosters were indeed going to be a help. Lucario flexed every muscle on his body, making himself seem a few inches taller. He held that for a moment, then relaxed.

Cody anticipated Chibi's move.

Vyala managed to score a hit, while a hit was scored on her. But not a bad hit. Chibi was grateful actually Cody commanded Dark Pulse, the move was one of Vyala's favorite and most deadly, it still damaged her, but a dark aura of her own began forming around her. "Vyala, get back a little." Chibi cautioned, Vyala did, her usual amber eyes deepening into orange then gold again. Chibi sighed, she had hoped to do this until later, but now with the evil energy aroused it would take a small miracle to force it back down.

"Flamethrower," Chibi called again, "combined with Dark Pulse." Chibi saw Dark Pulse as an aura, more or less, and she learned that an experienced person could channel their ara into their attacks, stregthening them. Physical attacks were easy enough once you got the hang of it, but non physical attacks were like hell to execute properly. Vyala was only able to use Dark Pulse with Flamethrower because she had done it too many times before.

Vyala nodded, and let go of the rein she kept on her power for so long. Instantly her eyes snapped open fully and became a chilling red, they almost seemed to glow as if they had their own inner light hidden in them. A sinister dark aura formed around her, making her fur looked almost black. She inhaled and spat out a river of flames, only these were different. The edges were bl;ack and the rest was purple, charged from the Dark Pulse, and there were some wisps of yellow around them. Even though different in color, it was fire nonetheless, and would burn only more painfully when connected with the Lucario's body. As a bonus, Chibi knew no Psychic could stop this, after all it was a Dark move.

"Focus Blast! Directly in the center!" Cody didn't even pause to think, it was time to act.

Lucario leaped far back into the air, and as he flew backwards closer to Cody, his energy began to focus in his hands. The wall of dark flames was coming closer, and the sun had just about set beneath the horizon. Before Lucario had even landed, the Focus Blast was launched from his hand. If it had been any other attack, it would have sent him flying back. But the Focus needed to power this attack kept him in the air.

"Follow up with Thunder Punch!" Lucario was still maintained in the air, and began flying through the air, following behind the attack he had just launched. The blast collided with the wall of fire, and Hell broke loose from it. As the Blast collided with the wall, it drilled through it, and sent the flames, sparks, and embers flying in different directions, and, actually formed a ring of fire flying far out of the stadium, soaring above the crowd. Some sparks fell out of the expanding ring, showering the crowd in a glow. As Lucario continued flying, he charged right through some of the fire. In pain, he fell to the ground. He stumbled, rolled, and pulled himself back up.

"Go on, Thunder Punch!" Cody called out across the stadium. Lucario charged up static power in his left arm, and began a run for Vyala, ready to strike. As he did, the last of the flames died out, and a sudden cool breeze blew across the stadium.

"Oh for the love of-" Chibi graoned, not this again. At least it wasn't Water Pulse, or she would hav skipped irritated and gone straight to pissed off. She rubbed her temples, her attack had worked, albeit not at full power, but it still created quite a show. Now, she had to teach Cody a lesson about repeating moves over and over. "Dodge it," she said coldly.

The blue canine, even though injured by the flames, was still coming in faster than she had expected, and swung its paw in an arc, only to find it swishing through thin air. Vyala snarled, Chibi took a little too long, it almost hit her. She danced back, as Chibi said "Disable" just as coldy. Ah yes, a fine payback. She concentrated, reaching into her powers and blocking that move from Lucario's mind. It was like a wall per se, a barrier that prevented Lucario from reaching into that certain type of energy he used to execute that certain move.

"Now, Hypnosis," Chibi said, tilting her said to the side. Vyala barked, and breathed out a soft pink mist instead of roaring flames, like before. The effect was a sort of sleeping gas if breathed in, and it spread ridiculosly fast, already clouds of it were rolling across the field like wayward boulders. Chibi hoped the gas would stay in the field, she had no intention of falling asleep during a battle, a tournament battle nonetheless. That would be embarrasing.

"You sure do like fogs, don't you?" Cody laughed silently. "Evade the clouds with Extremespeed, get behind Vyala, and use Water Pulse. If the clouds move back, we'll deal with it then." Cody's command was long, but it covered the entire turn. Lucario nodded, but didn't look back.

In an instant, there was nothing but a deep blue blur, dancing through the pink mist. As Lucario slowed to a stop behing the Fox Pokemon, the path in which he ran was clearly visible in the pink mist. It was a nearly straight line, save for one sharp turn going for behind Vyala. Lucario had taken in some of the effect, sure, just enough to slow him down a bit. In a few minutes, Cody hoped, it would wear off.

"This'll piss Chibi off" Cody muttered as Lucario began readying Water Pulse. He forced one hand forward, shooting a kickball sized orb of water, then the left, doing the identical. He leaped into the air, spun, and one final orb shot from his foot, which was extended like he was kicking somehting. The three spheres of chilling water spun erratically around each other, and split apart a bit as they got closer.

Oh shit. Well, the Lucario had to breathe, and those clouds would put him to sleep, but not quick enough apparently. Vyala instinctively dodged the first one, the second she barely avoided, and still got soaked as it landed near her, but was completely nailed by the third one. She did a full backflip before landing on the ground. Chibi frowned and clenched her fists, oh she would so get Cody for this later on. She saw Vyala get back on her feet, if Chibi was pissed off, Vyala was furious. The pokemon's teeth was bared in a deadly snarl that would have looked complete if only the fangs were red with blood. Her eyes were the complete image of rage, and it looks were arrow then the Lucario would have been a pincushion.

Chibi sighed a slow breath. "Disable. Again." she muttered loud enough to hear, Vyala's eyes shone as she blocked that moved just as ruthlessly as a cat traps a canary under its claws. The Vulpix was snarling low, a low, vicious sound that Chibi hoped she would never hear in a dark alley. "Now, use those clouds as cover, Zen Headbutt."

Vyala obliged, with a swish of six tails she was gone prowling the clouds as silently as a crocodile floating through water. She circled the Lucario, of course she had to surprise her opponent, or else her move would fail. And what better way could she use the element of surprise than to do the least expected thing. She reached into the limited psychic powers she had, and her eyes became a distant clouded blue. She quickly rushed around directly in front of the Lucario and jumped. Her head suddenly came alight with a pearly blue aura just like Dark Pulse surrounded her, intending to ram the Lucario's chest.

"Drain Punch." Cody said, a bit more confidently. Lucario would be able to trace Vyala's aura through the fog. Cody saw his eyes moving slowly as he followed where the tiny fox must be. He readied his right arm for attack as she began the move for him, right at the front.

Vyala leaped out of the pink mist, her body surrounded by a Psychic energy. As the Vulpix got closer, Lucario flung his fist forward, and the two collided squarely. Lucario nearly pulled back from the wave of pain he felt from the headbutt, but was able to pull off the rest of the attack. The small spike rising from his fist glowed a bright blue color, as did the sight where Lucario's fist was touching Vyala's head, where the collision had happened moments ago.

Cody had never been more grateful for Lucario's Inner Focus.

The sun had completely set, and the large stadium lights flashed on. The battlefield was flooded in light, as bright as, if not brighter, than natural light.

OOC: im adding another character named Allie that im gonna start using

Aero started to get up to leave, because the battle seemed to take forever. Suddenly the lights in the stadium went on. As the lights came on Aero realized something was wrong. He wanted to stay to meet up with the familiar looking trainer but he felt like he had to go.

Casually walking down the street Aero Greeted everyone who looked his way. One such trainer looked shocked as he said "Good evening". She stopped walking, and stared at him as if expecting something else to come out of his mouth. Aero just stood there not knowing what to say, he was always nervous around girls especially pretty ones.

She had short blond hair almost white, in it she had a bow that was as black as the midnight sky. Her Purple hoodie was zipped all the way up and it had a patch in the shape of a black X. "So where's shadow?" she said. Aero, shocked, said "How do you know shadow?"

OOC: To be continued... sorry its kinda short but we have company now

Chibi gasped and Vyala yowled. The punch hurt, but the terrifying part was that when the punch connected, she literally felt herself growing tired as her energy drained away. It was never a satisfying experience for the victim, and actually very unnerving. The force of the hit sent Vyala backflipping away until she hit the ground with a thump; she tried to gather the rest of her strength to stand up, it took her four tries until she succeeded. Chibi bit her lip in worry, Vyala was audibly gasping for air, and her muscles shivered from supporting her weight. Yet it was that fiery determination of finishing this battle, whether she won or lost, that shone in Vyala's eyes that Chibi just couldn't find it in her heart to call her back.

"Vyala," Chibi called, concerned. Vyala turned and looked at Chibi, the silent message was there, she would fight until she just couldn't fight anymore. Chibi always admired her determination. "Fine, Confuse Ray." Chibi knew Vyala was getting weak, so she decided to command Vyala to use attacks that only required minimum energy to perform.

Vyala wiggled her ears and jumped into the air, firing three yellow orbs of light at Lucario. The orbs had little black tails trailing behind them, like mini comets. Vyala landed softly on the ground, her mist was disappearing, but it was still useful for hiding still. She listened to Chibi's next command, and grinned. She sucked in a breathful of air, which hurt because of her exhaustion, and breathed out a similar white ball of heat which she had used earlier against Silver. The Will-O-Wisp bobbed gently in the air, floating steadily towards Lucario through the mist, it twirled through the air, coming up at the last second towards his chest.

(Lazy :p)

(Bringin' this shit back to life!)

It was the end of the world. All Hell broke loose. A giant fissure had ripped in the middle of the field, thankfully, no Pokemon were standing there. Dust, rocks, and ashes spewed from the steadily growing crevice. Spewed it too gentle of a word... it... shot. It shout out, quickly covering the sky around the stadium in a thick black smog. Cody started coughing, and quickly returned Lucario.

He had no time to see if any of his friends were okay, for once, he thought of only himself. He threw Stella's Pokeball to the ground, jumped on to the Armor Bird, and flew. Flew far above the small island, the smoke, and the sudden despair. As he looked back down, Cody could only stair in shock. As people jumped onto flying Pokemon and flew, and as some made a run for the bridge, some even leaping right into the water, the stadium... exploded. It was from nowhere. A fireball traveled twenty, maybe more, feet up. It must have been a hundred feet in diameter. It was truly hell.

Then, shock set it. Kalseng, Brian, and Chibi.... they were all there. Hundreds, thousands of people.... what would happen to them...? What had happened to them? The quickly rising black smoke may have blocked his eyes, but not Cody's thoughts. He and Stella flew down, closer to the ocean, to escape the smoke.

As they circled the recently damned island, Cody noticed how the water started acting strangely. Almost pulling itself under, and becoming incredibly violent near the small island, once home to the stadium. It was then the island began shaking, incredibly violently. If anyone had survived the fireball, they would surely die from the earthquake. It was a horrible thought, but it just had to be true.

And then it sank. The island sank, clear into the ocean below, leaving nothing behind. but a massive cloud of steam, several bodies, and a few frantic swimmers. Cody looked on in complete awe, and flew directly back for the hotel room, waiting, hoping, and praying.

(Kind of lazy, but it needed to be back to life. I hope none of you died! O:)

(No one died, but I come pretty damn close! ;) )

A tremble. That was one of the only warnings Chibi and Vyala had. A slight bucking of the earth, as if it had just shivered ever so slightly. Then, the apprehension. Humans were still a type of organism, and deep in the very core of themselves, were no less animal than pokemon, and Chibi's instinct instantly told her something was wrong, just as Vyala stopped. For the briefest of instances, everything was completely, utterly silent, The fans stopped screaming, the pokemon were frozen, even the seabirds that had been circling overhead were hushed. The only thing still making sound was the never ending rhythm of the waves restlessly assualting the beach then retreating to ready another attack.

Then, quite suddenly, hell decided to briefly relocate.

There was a giant rumble, and a huge fissure suddenly ripped its way into the middle of the field. The ground beneath Chibi's feet bucked and groaned as if in mortal agony, and Vyala ran away from the fissure a foot away from her with a scream of fright. Huh. Chibi didn't know Vulpix could scream. No time to dwell on her discovery, Chibi stumbled and miraculously kept her footing. The universe jolted incomprehensibly, Chibi's world and focus narrowed down to three things: herself, Vyala, and the ground rolling in waves beneath her feet. Vyala leaped into her trainer's arms, Chibi hugged her friend close to her chest with every scrap of strength her muscles could provide, Vyala seemed to not notice the pain. Chibi and Vyala were both screaming in an overwhelming fear, a watered down echo of the black terror raging through their brains. For the first time in her life, Chibi was so absolutely terrified that she couldn't think.

A huge piece of the earth slammed into the ground feet away from Chibi and finally made her feet slip out from under her, and she fell hard on her back. That jolt of pain finally brought everything back, the terrified screams, the realization of what was going on, and above all else, the thought of getting out of here. Chibi clawed at her vest, knowing that she had to keep herself busy or else her mind would slide back into hysteria. "Hammy!" She shrieked in a voice that she couldn't believe was hers. She silently recited every curse she knew for not healing Skydive completely back there. The Luxury Ball that she sent out opened up and a Pachirisu appeared only to have its greeting turn into a squeal of fear as he took in the situation. "Hammy!" Chibi shouted again as the white mammal desperately climbed onto her shoulders to escape the treacherous ground. "Pr-use Prot-" She was hyperventilating, gasping so hard that she could barely get any words out.

But Hammy understood. He nodded and with more self-control than Chibi could ever give him credit for, he sparked his fur and bluish bolts of lightning no thicker than a hair shot out from his cheeks and tail. The bolts swirled around the trio, finally growing translucent as the blue Protect finally took hold, with Hammy as its anchor. Just in time, for a rock the size of Chibi's torso came flying and bounced harmlessly off the shield, causing white ripples that looked for all the world like rings of lightning to spread out from the impact point. The black smoke completely obscured the sky, and for the first time since the battle's abrupt end, she wondered what happened to Cody, Brian, and Kalseng. Were they dead? Had they been crushed by debris? Had they somehow fallen in the pit? Or were they still alive? All sorts of unseen horrors assualted Chibi's brain, and only Hammy's next squeal that harmonized with Vyala's made her look up.

If Chibi had the time to say something, she would have probably shouted something similar, but much worse, to "Holy fuck" but it turned out only a scream of terror once again escaped her parted lips. Chibi had always loved fire and its capabilities, but now that fire had become a double bladed weapon that struck out against her, terrifying her. A wave of fire engulfed them, and Hammy cried out from the effort of keeping his Protect up, lightning crackled furiously from his fur, constantly reinforcing the barrier between them and their deaths. The stadium and everything around it abruptly vanished and was replaced by a world of swirling red, orange, and yellow as the flames completely surrounded them. Caught in the middle of an inferno, Chibi had no clue what to do, except pray that Hammy could keep the sheild up. Oddly enough, it felt as if she were floating, the ground had utterly disappeared and she, Vyala, and Hammy were inside the sphere of the Protect's womb. Chibi had only a moment to wonder just why the ground was gone when a moment later, she realized she would have rather not gotten the answer.

The flames suddenly were gone, and Chibi had a clear view of the island. Below them. And the trainers flying on the backs of their pokemon to desparately escape destruction. Beside them. It had always been cartoonish, to be caught in the middle of a giant blast and be sent hurling into the sky to land some miles away, still alive. Like a Wile E. Coyote thing. Nothing cartoonish about the whole idea now. The sphere, still intact, with Hammy looking ready to faint, hovered for a moment, as if it somehow gained the ability to fly. But it was just at the crest of its ascent, then inevitably, the wide blue ocean dotted with trainers slowly became larger. Chibi screamed again as their fall rapidly picked up speed, until the confused glances of the trainers and their pokemon shrunk to dots with shocking speed. Chibi grasped her vest again, fumbling over the balls in her haste to unclip the right one. She had just enlarged it when the shield slammed violently agaisnt something, and Hammy finally gave a cry and collasped, the Protect with him.

Chibi gasped in surprise and gagged as salty water tried to jump down her throat. Vyala howled and tried to somehow get free of the water which she so dreadfully hated and feared, but it didn't matter because it was everywhere, and land was most definitely not safe at the moment. Chibi somehow managed to grasp Hammy's limp body to her side in a headlock-like position, then look at her Dive Ball. It was empty. She stared incomprehensibly at the open ball for a second, before realizing the situation. "Oh shit..." She breathed, water once again threatening to choke her. She tried not to flail in the water, and she kicked her legs frantically, yelping when they suddenly encountered something hard. Something large and gray rose out of the water, with Chibi, Vyala, and Hammy on its back. A large, blue and cream head with concerned black eyes came into view and hovered over Chibi worridly. "Shingala!" Chibi gasped, grateful no water came down her throat this time. "Shingala! Get us out of here! Away from the island!" She pointed to the island, which was now visibly shaking.

The Lapras cried and turned, swimming away from the land at a rapid speed. Chibi and Vyala watched in a stunned horror as the island tore itself apart in its death throes, then - sank. Even Shingala had to stop to watch as the ocean claimed back what was its, waves crashed through the beaches and humans towns, at the same time the entire island was sinking, for some odd reason. The ground slowly began less and less visible as the merciless blue waves covered it until with a last bloop and an army of bubbles, the highest point of the island finally succumbed to the sea and floated under the waves, spiraling to the bottom of the sea. There was no evidence that it even existed in the first place. It was just like the story of Atlantis, only on a much bigger scale. Chibi knew her panicked breathing would not stop for a very long time, and only when Shingala keened to her did she finally break her gaze away from where the island used to be. Vyala nuzzled her chin comfortingly, and Chibi hugged the Fox pokemon closer.

"C'mon Shingala," she whispered breathlessly. "Let's get out of here....Back to the hotel." She pointed to the right island, and Shingala, with a final glance of concern, turned and shot through the waves like an arrow towards the island that was still standing as if its partner had not just sunk. Chibi glanced at the unconscious Hammy, and tried (along with Vyala) to wake him as Shingala cut a path through the roiling waves.

(Yes! I'm back with the awesome posts! Like I said, everything impossible/bad/weird happens to Chibi. And I would like to thank Children of Bodom's "Living Dead Beat" for helping me type this post, your music was absolutely perfect for the scene.)

(OOC: Whoo! We're back on track for death and destruction!)

Kari's mouth went dry. The stadium shook with more violence than he could ever have imagined. This sort of force just did not exist in the world; nothing could have so much hate as this. He was numb now, just watching the horrific forces destroy everything in sight. Only the Earth itself could cause this; only the Earth...

"...only..." He muttered, holding his head in his hands. A wave of pure heat washed over him, ridding him of the tears he had shed, searing his skin. The stent of burnt hair floated about and it was still a few moments before the young man realised it came from him. Small flickers of flame shot about him. Wool had never been that flammable, this could be no ordinary flame. He hoped he was wrong.

Suddenly, there was a flash of bright light, followed closely by a deep shadow falling onto Kari. An orange dragon stood beside him now, bellowing. Mephisto had finally decided to free himself and if not for the mortal danger of the situation, Kari would have laughed at the convenience.

Great chunks of cement and metal groaned and released themselves, falling into the packed stands. Screams of terror and pain mingled with the sounds of the stadium's destruction, but all were drowned out by the hammering of Kari's own heart.

Shaking and stupefied, he clambered onto the Charizard's back, clinging to the beast's shoulders. Someone or something clawed at his ankle, hoping to be saved. In his terror Kari kicked the hand away, hearing fingers snap and a sharp hiss of pain. The beast spread his wings, giving them a hard flap. The only good thing about the heat was the thermals it was creating, making their escape slightly easier.

He never thought his life could be like this. Was this the adventure he had wanted? To flee from hundreds of injured and dying people; to only briefly meet other trainers, nice people, before fearing for his life? Yes, Cody, Chibi and Brian. He would never see them again. Cody and Chibi had been at the centre of all of this. They most likely dead now.

The night sky stretched out before the two, hundreds of stars gently twinkling against a black backdrop. Clouds of smoke drifted across, covering the points of light. Kari did not need to look back now, he could hear the gasps and cries from the other trainers. The island was disappearing, that was all it could do now.

Something rushed past him; a shining blue thing. The screams followed a short moment later, dropping behind whoever was making them. Kari did not have time to investigate however, as another object hurtled out of the sky. This one he could see: a young girl, barely into her teens, had been escaping, but her plan had gone disastrously wrong. The Pidgeot she had been flying on had taken a hit from a piece of flying debris and one wing was obviously broken. Mephisto automatically changed course, diving toward the falling girl. Crouching forward, Kari aided their flight by reducing his resistance.

Quickly they overtook the girl, now coming up from beneath to catch her. She was travelling so fast that Kari was almost ripped from Mephisto's back when he caught her. The girl's short dark brown hair was mattered with sweat and soot, her skin almost black in places from the dirt. Small channels of pink flesh ran down her face, showing the path her tears had taken. Kari clasped the girl close to his chest, holding her tight to save her from her own fears. She in turn held onto her Pidgeot's ball, which Kari had to wrestle from her so that he could save the bird.

Comforted now by his pathetic attempt to redeem himself and in that he had saved a person's life, Kari directed Mephisto to take them back to the main land. He supposed that the girl was staying either in or near the Pokécentre, but she needed medical attention first.

Due to the extra weight of the girl and her constant shivering, the Charizard came dangerously close to the water several times. Due to his pure determination and arrogance though, Mephisto carried on, taking them ever closer to the sirens and flashing blue lights that were lining the city streets.

(OOC: Kari doesn't do heroics very well, but if he's in the right frame of mind, he can at least do something. He might be a classical cat burgler, but flaming earthquake death just doesn't sit with him.
Yay on Cody for bringing Eternal Sands back!)

(Cody, you're a genius!)

It had been an interesting match. One could expect such a performance from Cody and Chibi. Everything had been going smoothly until a huge prominence burst from the center of the arena. Brian instantly jumped from his seat and stared in confusion and horror. There was no way something like that came from Vyala, or any Fire-type Pokemon for that matter. It was too huge.

"No one said this island was on a volcano!" Brian shouted. Then a disturbing realization hit him. For the past hour there had been on and off tremors. The warning signs were all there and he had missed them. "H-h-h-how..." he said shakily.

"I think it's time for us to go!" said Axel urgently. People that had been in the stands were now running desperately, pushing and shoving eachother, all in an effort to save their own lives. Children cried, people shouted names of their loved ones, and yet the world moved in slow motion and fire shot from the earth and rained back down on the stadium. The night sky had been painted red in this hell on Earth.

"Funny, I thought I'd enjoy this mindless destruction abit more. I guess it isn't as amusing when you're right in the middle." said Brian snarkily in a deadpan tone. Instinctively he reached for Aerodactyl's Pokeball, only to remember that Skydive did quite the number on him including an injured wing.

"I'll have to remember to thank Chibi for this later." A short wave of panic over took the trainer. Aerodactyl was the only flier Brian had on him, so how the hell were they going to escape! It was even harder to think with violent tremors continuing to shake the stadium apart. What became even more nerve wracking was watching the opposite side crumble to the ground.

"Look out!" cried the Infernape pushing his trainer out of the way of an incoming fireball. For whatever reason that gave Brian an idea. "You ok?" Axel asked.

"Fine. But if we are to get out alive, you need to get in your Pokeball." Brian pulled out a deformed ball covered in duct tape. "Don't resist!" By some miracle, the monkey was engulfed in a red light and pulled in. "Sorry Axel, but it's the only way." Brian reached for another ball and released a metallic blue disc shaped Pokemon with two long arms.

"Get us the hell out of here Metang!" Brian ordered grabbing the Iron Claw Pokemon by its arms. As Metang floated higher into the red sky, Brian pulled his legs in to prevent the ignorant masses from grabbing onto him. At this moment it was survival of the fittest. Those who were too weak to get off the island would never see another sunrise and Brian felt no sympathy or regret. He couldn't at this time, it was him or them. The sad truth was the thought of his friends not escaping didn't bother him. He could mourn their loss later, but for now he would live.

"Try and get us back to the mainland." Brian said with no emotion.

(When it comes to surviving, you have to worry about yourself.)

Flustered and on the verge of panic, Kari tried to get the Charizard to land. Mephisto was tired however and they skidded to halt just a few feet from a line of paramedics. Looking around he did not see any police, which to him was a good sign. The last thing he wanted was to be recognised, he still hadn't fully wiped away the Saffron City incident.

The girl he'd rescued was now unconscious; he hoped it was only from shock. Thankfully he had no need to carry her anywhere, as a pair of paramedics rushed over with a strecher. The flashing of emergency lights, mixed with the now orange sky, made it all feel like a nightmare. Slowly he realised that he was injured; there was a pain coming from his right leg and it was incredibly hot.

"...alright? Hey kid, kid!" One of the paramedics tapped Kari lightly on the shoulder and he almost jumped out of his skin. Slightly dazed he caught a few bits of the man's question and nodded dumbly in reply. Going to the field or actual hospital would do more harm than good for him at the moment. The paramedic did not look overly convinced but before he could do anything about it, Kari was already walking off, albeit very shakily.

Now, as ever, Kari was more concerned with his Pokemon than himself. Vaguely he recalled where the Pokecentre-cum-hotel* was and, after vomiting beside an unfortunate dumpster, wandered off in what he hoped was the right direction. By now his limping was quite obvious and so was the pain.

In all the commotion Mephisto had not been recalled; he noticed his small master's distress. As fierce a dargon as he could be, he wasn't overly cruel. At least not to people he liked. With more force than he meant, the Charizard pushed his snout into Kari's chest, almost knocking the young man over. Stupified, the trainer stumbled back a few steps before finding his balance. He shook his head and looked dejectedly at the ground. This wasn't the time for his self-loathing to come to the fore, but he was having a had time controlling it.

Mephisto wasn't one for letting go of what he thought was a good idea. Permission or no, he got Kari on his back and continued to walk. He had barely any energy to fly and decieded to preserve that for when they reached the hotel.

After a short while Kari saw a building that stood out from the rest, swarming with confused, but unhurt, looking trainers.

"That must be it, Mephisto. Let's go to one of the higher floors, I don't want to deal with the lobby."

Nodding, the orange beast spread his great wings and flapped them hard. He only got a little lift, but it would be enough to get them to at least the sixth floor.

(*OOC: Well, I assume it's that, if it's not I can just change it.
Must breathe life into this!)

The smoke columns dissipated around Kalseng's body, the fire passing over him in sheets. None of his clothing was singed in the least bit, and his hair and skin remained untouched. His head was facing down towards the ground, looking like a puppet without its strings. The entire Colosseum collapsed around him, rocks and dust flying in every possible direction. When everything settled down and the fire receded back into the disastrous fissure cracking the entire area in half, Kalseng stood like a pillar of light green in the middle of it all.

"Thanks, Haunter," His voice was sad and empty, like he had just lost his soul in the explosion. The ghost faded into visibility, and a green sphere around the two of them briefly appeared, shimmering in the hot sun. It disappeared from the top to the bottom, revealing the two creatures to anyone looking their way. First Rustboro, and now this island. Why him? Why here? Why? His haunter shook Kalseng from his depressing thoughts by swallowing Kalseng's entire head. The trainer stood a moment, surrounded in dark purple and a red, wet pillow.

Kalseng shoved off Haunter, falling backwards onto a flat piece of earth. It took a second, but Kalseng returned to his old self. He snickered quietly, then chuckled, then laughed, and then began guffawing on the ground, holding his stomach. This continued for a few minutes, tears streaming down the teen's red face. Eventually, he stood up and wiped off his face, brushing off his entire head for dust and tears.

"Thanks," Kalseng said happily. The haunter nodded happily and disappeared again, receding into the shadows. "Stop," Kalseng said. The ghost faded back into his view and grabbed Kalseng, turning him intangible. "No, not that. Come with me?" He asked. The ghost bobbed his head happily, and Kalseng turned towards the large city. He drove out the darkness with more light.

About halfway back to the hotel, Kalseng felt his wrist begin to shake softly. When he looked down, he saw Rowan's face on the gear. He picked the small earpiece off the gear and stuck it in his gear, and Rowan's 3D image popped up.

"Rowan?" Kalseng asked.

"No time. Regirock has been let loose, Kalseng. Look, the situation is like this..."

Kalseng slammed open the door of Cody's room, breathing hard. "C-Cody," He stuttered out. "W-We have a problem," His Haunter was looking dire, but something about it emanated happiness, almost bliss. "Look, Regirock is..."
