Private/Closed Exploration of the Froena Region

Asher rolled his eyes at the strange girl, "She's throwing a fit." he mused starring down at Geodude who waited for his turn to attack. Asher then smirked, "Maybe she needs a nap!" he scoffed sending Geodude forward with a roll-out and Swirlix using Cotton Spore. Asher watched his two companions before looking behind him, Darla hadn't blocked the path back out of the cave.
Asher took a step-backwards before giving Chimchar his communicator/gps, "Go bud, if we don't make it out- call the professors." he whispered. He wasn't worried about being killed of course, however it wouldn't be hard to trap them. Chimchar hesitated before jumping to the ground and racing back towards the exit of the caverns.
Asher nodded before pointing a finger at his opponents- "Swirlix, Fairy Wind!" Asher commanded.

"Pidgeotto!" Kaleb's Pidgeotto cried, and she dove in for another Quick Attack.

"Pi-Pichu!" Pichu cried, and he used Thundershock on the Noivern. Pichu hit it with another Thundershock and then used Sweet Kiss to confuse it and Thunder Wave to paralyze it.

"Pancham, Comet Punch!" Kaleb yelled to his Pancham, who had started to charge up energy. Pancham unleashed Comet Punch on Ninetales, who flew back into the rocks and fell to the ground. Pidgeotto unleashed a Twister, and it hit Noivern, dealing massive damage, but the Noivern withstood the attack, and fought back with Ice Fang, and Pidgeotto fell to the ground.

"No, Pidgeotto!" Kaleb yelled! However, his Pidgeotto was able to get up, and it used Wing Attack, and quickly unleashed a Gust not long after, trapping the Noivern in a flurry of Wing Attacks and Quick Attacks, until it couldn't stand any more, and it fell to the ground.

(OOC: @StormingCobra55 Pichu doesn't learn volt tackle please remove that move from his/her moveset)

Spade grunted as she looked at Darla "Your unfair! I was just doing all I could to defeat your pokémon!". Quill chirped as she flapped her wings to hover next to her trainer. "Return! Lets go Tailgate!" switching out her Pokémon she pointed to the Noivern "Icicle Crash!". Tailgate huffed before holding her hands out, an icy mist appeared in the air before Tailgate called out "Snea, sneasel snea!" The mist turned into a sheet of ice before slamming into the flying/dragon type.

"Ice type moves are 4x effective on both Noivern and Nidoqueen, keep using those attacks on them!" Kaleb said to Spade. "Pichu can handle the Ninetales."

"Pi-Pi-Pichu!" And with that, his Pichu started charging up another Thundershock, but it was soon hit by a Bite from Ninetales, and then flung into the wall.

"Pichu, no!" his trainer cried, and he returned his Pichu to its poke ball.

"Alright Pidgeotto, get rid of that Ninetales!" he said, and Pidgeotto zoomed over to the Fire Fox Pokémon and hit it with Wing Attack, and then Twister. Pancham also changed course and used Body Slam, flinging its whole body weight straight onto Ninetales.

"Pancham, Comet Punch! Pidgeotto, Quick Attack!" Both Pokémon attacked Ninetales at the same time, dealing damage and sending the Ninetales flying, infuriating Darla in the process.

(@StormingCobra55 Look up what moves Pichu knows, and not TM moves because we never got TM, atleast not yet so no Wild charge or Thunderbolt, and Pichu has NO WAY of even learning Slam..)

Spade rolled her eyes before calling out "Ice shard!". Tailgate held her hands out before blowing in front of her freezing the air, creating shards of ice before flicking her claw like hands towards the Noivern and Nidoqueen.

"Wyvern, use hurricane," Darla commanded simply. The dragon roared in rage from both the shock for Pichu and the bits of ice clinging to her from Tailgate's attack. Hearing the new arrival's declaration about the baby mouse could defeat her Ninetails. "End the mouse," was all she said to her fox like pokemon.

"Nine!" the fire type replied as she dashed forward, Wyvern's attack shaking the whole cavern in the process. She crunched her teeth around the baby pokemon's torso, not truly using an attack but then again why bother on a baby pokemon? She was built for hunting, after all. Giving the pathetically small meal, a hard shake, she tossed the tiny electric pokemon into the rocky wall of the mountain.

"Good girl, now get rid of the Sneasel. Charlotte, take care of the fliers! Sapphire, kill the Mudbray!" Darla commanded swiftly. Ninetails, who had been advancing on Kaleb, turned around the instant she heard her trainer's words. She charged for the ice type, a flamethrower already being readied in her jaws. Charlotte began firing off electro webs from her place on the ceiling, where she had hid once the chaos ensued. Completely trapping the Starly in the webbing, and capturing Pidgeotto from the neck down, Charlotte secured their webbing and let them fall to the floor so they could be trampled by Sapphire the Nidoqueen. The ground type in question was charging at Sleipnir, her scissor like jaws hoping to make work of the smaller pokemon.

The hurricane attack was making any direct contact but the Noivern continued with the attack, sending dirt and debris in the cave flying. Asriel could barely see from the amount of watering his eyes were doing thanks to the wind. He could still hear Darla, though, and knew what she was up to. "Sleipnir," he shouted above the wind, "help Tailgate! Hold off the Ninetails!" he instructed. Sleipnir brayed in response and leaped in front of Tailgate. Ninetails' flamethrower hit him square in the side. Sleipnir cried out in pain but endured the hit; however, he did receive a very painful burn on his side from the blast.

Jitter, seeing the captured flying types, leaped into the fray. He was aiming to bite through the electric webs holding them down. Halfway to Quill, he was cut off by the Emolga. Preparing his poisonous spines, he ran, his rescue attempt turning into a run for his life.

Asriel tried to keep his eyes on Darla but the lady had vanished; so had her Gardevoir. He looked around and saw something glinting in the sunlight behind Spade. As well as the shadow of a Gardevoir... "Spade, behind you!" he shouted, realizing Darla must have been hiding a knife.

"GO!" Halt screamed out, and Heracross lept across the road, right onto Darla's face. "Hey." Halt said in short, as he appeared from the shadows. "Your next opponent. Me." He said blankly, as Heracross lept off of Darla, knocking her awry.

Asher huffed as he looked up at Halt, "Go to hell with that 'opponent' crap." he growled, "She tried to kill us, and if you play with fire-" he growled before a whirling flame was spit from Swirlix's mouth who had used Copy Cat on Ninetails. Geodude stood behind Asher who knew that it was best to take this one step at a time. It was a risky move, shouting the mass of flames, but after Heracross knocked the female away form Spade she was an open target.

"Pancham, use Body Slam!" Kaleb yelled. Pancham flung itself at Gardevoir and they both fell onto the ground. Pancham got up and started to free Pidgeotto from the webs, but it was hit by an Iron Tail from Nidoqueen.

"Pancham, no!" Kaleb cried. Pancham was able to free Pidgeotto, but it took heavy damage from the attack. Kaleb returned Pancham to his pokeball, and Pidgeotto was enraged and used Twister on Nidoqueen, and then Wing Attack, slamming it into Ninetales in the process.

"Good job, now use Aerial Ace on Noivern!" There was no way out for Noivern, and in a matter of seconds, Pidgeotto had it pinned to the wall. "Wing Attack!" Pidgeotto slapped Noivern with her wing multiple times in a row.

"Quick, turn around and use Twister!" Pidgeotto was quick enough to hit Nidoqueen, who had tried to attack Pidgeotto with Iron Tail, and trap her with Twister. But then, Noivern got up and attacked, and Pidgeotto was down.

"Pidgeotto!" Kaleb yelled. He recalled Pidgeotto and let her rest for a while.

Spade gasped as she turned around, but calmed down when halt's heracross was in front of Darla "T-thanks Halt". Quill screeched as she saw her trainer being attacked, she struggled before her body began to glow. Spade turned her head to to see the light that Quill's body was emitting "No way!" she gasped, before long Starly had evolved into a Staravia "Staravia!" she cried before she pushed through the web.

The newly evolved pokémon flew next to her trainer and before she turned and faced the Galvantula and nodded "Alright Quill, Quick Attack!". Quill flapped her wings before her body start to multiply "Double team?" Spade questioned before smirking "Wing attack!". The bird pokémon chirped before she and her copies where now flying towards the Spider pokémon.

Tailgate huffed as she was saved her eyes narrowed as she cried out "Tailgate, icicle crash at Noivern!". Tailgate nodded before summoning the giant sheet of ice, her claw like hands flicked down sending the ice crashing on the flying/dragon.

"Riolu, help Tailgate!" Riolu lept to the Noivern, climbing onto its back. "Circle Throw! Like the Charazard!" Riolu slid down to its tail, and tried swinging it around into the ground. "Heracross, Help Staravia!" Heracross lept down to the Galvantula, "use night slash!" Heracross swung his large horn at the spider, and a dark blade shot out from it.

After about five minutes, Pidgeotto was rested and ready to go.

"Pidgeotto, go!" Kaleb said, and Pidgeotto was once again released from her pokeball. "Quick Attack on Ninetales!" Pidgeotto's blinding speed was too much for Ninetales to keep up with, and in a few seconds Pidgeotto had hit her mark right in the side.

But when Ninetales got back up, Pidgeotto was once again hit by Flamethrower, and Pidgeotto fell to the ground, exhausted from all the battling.

"Pidgeotto, return!" Kaleb said. He wasn't disappointed that she lost; he was proud of how hard she battled. "You did great out there," he said.

Qin clicked his tongue as the battle devolved into utter chaos, he retreated a few feet before calling out Rose to join the fray. Noticing that Halt had appeared from who knows where he instantly thought up an idea.

"Rose, Agility! Halt, we can do it just like our battle!"

Qin waited briefly giving Halt just enough time to decide whether to copy agility or not, then he pressed his own offense.

"Let's see if those compound eyes help you dodge any better, back up Heracross with Quick Attack followed by Night Slash!"

Utilizing the combination of Quick Attack and Agility Rose became a blur of motion as she almost instantly closed the gap between herself and Galvantula. Her claws left dark arcs through the air as they continued on a collision course with one of Galvantula's legs.

Darla gave a short shout of pain as she tumbled to the ground, her large knife sliding away on the cave floor. Gardevoir, normally quite stoic- even as far as other gardevoirs go- looked infuriated at the nerve of this Heracross. Dashing forward, she let loose a psyshock, hitting the Heracross directly.

Standing and grabbing her knife back, she just barely had time to dodge the copied flamethrower. Darla watched as her pokemon were all ganged up on in the cavern. Her Noivern, strong though it was, was having trouble keeping up the strong winds under all the attacks, especially the ice ones. When the dragon type was forced to the ground by the baby, pokemon, she launched back up, roaring in rage and thrashing about- the action, not the attack- trying to end the baby pokemon. Seeing the enraged dragon in the small cavern, Asriel took his chance. Darla's pokemon were scattered, trying to avoid being hit by their own teammate who, if Darla had any kindness as a trainer, she would have returned long before now. The dragon, despite it's tough hide, was starting to bleed from the repeated blows of ice. Ninetales was having to bob and weave, Nidoqueen accidentally stomped on Galvantula who had fallen to the floor because of the newly evolved Quill; along with the assault by the other pokemon as well.

Asriel felt dirty for what he was about to do but this could be the difference between their lives or deaths. If the crumbling walls were any indication, this cavern had thin walls; Sleipnir should be able to cause a collapse with bulldoze. "Everyone, get out of the cavern!" he yelled as he grabbed up Jitter, who was still being harassed by Emolga. Sensing the boy was up to something and not wanting to leave Darla with only one guard, Nidoqueen and Ninetales ran out behind him. Sleipnir, knowing what was coming, ran to the cavern entrance and waited.

"You heard the man, Riolu." Halt called over, and the pokemon mimiced the agility. "Now go use arm thrust!" Riolu lept into action, heading to the Noivern. Halt would've said good call, but it's not time for complements. It's time for battle. "Heracross, back. Keep attacking though!" Heracross kept slashing with his horn causing more night slashes to shoot out.

Riolu was launched away into a cavern wall, making a dent in the wall. "Heracross, watch us!" Halt ran over to his partner. "Hey, you alright?" He asked in a calm voice, lifting up Riolu's head. The small pokemon tried to get up, but slipped and fell. "You might not be good for battling, but I respect your choice." Halt helped Riolu up, and the small pokemon started to glow white. The form grew larger, and developed a bigger stance. The glow exploded, showing a Lucario in his place. "Nice, you evolved!" Halt said, kinda teary from Lucario's previous state. "Now, lets end this." Halt ran with his two pokemon to the enterance. Lucario turned to the Noivern, and a blue glow enveloped his fist. A blue sphere shot forward, traveling at an extreme speed, cutting through the air like a knife through butter.

Spade looked at Tailgate and Quill "Tailgate, Quill they got this lets go!". With the cavern crumbling from the multiple attacks Spade and her pokémon ran out. She turned her head back to see Halt and Asriel as well as their pokémon "Asriel, Halt!" she cried knowing they might not get out in time.

Qin immediately recalled Rose once he'd heard Asriel shout. The scorpion Pokemon, now firmly clinging to Qin's arm, stared almost wistfully at Halt's Riolu as it evolved, seemingly pondering when she would experience the same thing. The Pokemon's pensiveness didn't go unnoticed, however, there wasn't much Qin could do about it right now considering the fact that they were in the middle of a life-or-death battle. He threw those thoughts about Rose's evolution to the back of his mind as he quickly trailed after Asriel, exiting the cave in a matter of moments.

"Go." Halt said quietly, kinda still sore about Spades previous comment. Lucario ran over, arms behind his back, over to Spade. He lifted up Spade and Tailgate, and ran back to the entrance with them in his arms. He put the two down, and pointed to quill. "Can you make it?" He called over hoping for it to make it soon. He pointed to a single rock structure in the cave, holding up the roof. "Aura Sphere it." He said pointing, and Lucario charged the attack, ready to shoot when needed.

Noivern collapsed under the Lucario's blow and let out a pained moan, begging Darla for help. When his trainer didn't respond, he cried out louder. Darla merely hissed through clenched teeth, "Get up." When the dragon couldn't comply, the Gardevoir purposefully missed a psyshock, causing the blast of psychic energy to blow right blow the dragon's face. "Get up and fight!" Darla shouted at the downed pokemon as she let her defeated Galvantula lay in pain on the cavern floor.

Noivern looked at his trainer in hurt betrayal. Here she was, laying bloody on the floor in almost too much pain to move and her trainer just wanted more combat from here? It wasn't her fault the cavern was too small for her to properly fly and aim... Still, she staggered upright. Unable to balance on her hind legs, she roared, halfheartedly lashing her tail in an attack. Her body was just too sore to do anything else.

Asriel glared at Darla in disgust. Who pushed their pokemon to these kinds of limits? Darla for her part, was glaring into the cavern. The boy had to pull the bulldoze trigger soon. She was determined to keep some of them trapped in there. Her pokemon would be okay, she knew.

When Asriel saw everyone run out, he yelled, "Bulldoze!" His prediction had been right; thanks to Noivern, the cavern walls were so weak the whole thing started coming down once Sleipnir, braying mightily, delivered the attack. Nidoqueen, with Venoshock, and Ninetales, with flamethrower, tried to keep the group inside. But when the smoke cleared, Asriel's friends and their pokemon stood clear. Galvantula was nowhere in sight. All that could seen of Noivern was the tail tip; the unmoving body part was barely poking out of the rubble.

Not sure what the older woman would do next, Asriel stayed put. Darla was watching the rubble. When there was no movement, her chilled anger morphed into visible worry. "Go ahead and come out; you two!" she cried out. The only response she received was her own echo bouncing off the cold, unforgiving mountains.

Ninetails took a couple steps forward, listening closely. When she didn't hear what she was hoping to, she dashed forward, Nidoqueen and Emolga behind her. When Darla saw them trying to unbury their comrades, she dropped her knife and ran forward to help. The woman looked horrified. Gardevior stared at the humans in silent debate. Make sure they don't escape or help save her potentially dead teammates?

Figuring Darla would be most pleased with the latter, the psychic fairy silently drifted past the young adults and used her psychic abilities to help move the rocks.

Halt tapped on Lucario's back, telling him to change the attacks direction. He pointed to a spot on Diana. Her Noivern's pokeball. "Fire." He said, looking right forward as the bright blue orb of power flew right to the pokeball of the mistreated dragon type. No pokemon should live like that. Not even bad pokemon.

Spade clenched her teeth as lucario left her and Tailgate at the entrance "Halt you better not get yourself killed!" she called out. Quill chirped as she flew out of the cavern, she looked back before landing on her trainers head.

Spade sighed "Really Quill?" she questioned.

Kaleb glanced at Darla's Pokémon. Her Galvantula outside the cave, her Noivern collapsed on the floor, and her jerk Gardevoir. That Gardevoir is just like Darla. No sympathy at all.

Kaleb realized Halt's intentions were to free Noivern. He had the same idea.

"Pancham, use Comet Punch on Galvantula's pokeball," he told his partner. Pancham obeyed, and there was a noise that sounded like shattering glass, and in an instant, Galvantula was free.

"Pancham, pull Noivern and Galvantula out of the rubble," he told his Pancham. His partner dove into the rubble, and after a few seconds, he came out with the unconscious and bloody Noivern, and started digging up Galvantula.

"Oh man, this is bad," Kaleb muttered to himself. There was no way they would be able to pull through. There were no Pokémon Centers around, and Kaleb didn't have any revives or full restores.

"There's only one way Noivern and Galvantula will be able to survive," he said.

"They need to be caught."

As Darla continued her almost panicked attempt to save her two pokemon, Asriel waved at the others, silently motioning that they should leave while they could. Who knew if Darla had any back up coming? Recalling Sleipnir, who could barely walk due to the burn he had gotten from the Ninetales, Asriel led the trek back the way they had come.

Far overheard, a Fearow flew in silence. It made sure to keep enough distance to keep from being spotted. The camera around its neck revealed the results of the battle to the one Darla called Sire. He sat in his throne room, fuming. How hard could this task be?! They were barely more than children! Still, Darla had yet to fail him since he had recruited her. He could forgive this one error. She could die if this happened again. "No," he quietly mused. "She's to valuable to kill on the second failure." That and she was his favorite lieutenant.

He turned to his second in command, who stood silently at the foot of his throne, awaiting orders like a good soldier. "You I know won't fail me. In fact, don't kill them. If they were able to defeat Darla, they may be worth recruiting," he said with a cruel smile. "Deliver them here in whatever method you deem necessary," he told her.

"Guys, we need to catch Noivern and Galvantula," Kaleb said to the group.

"Halt and I freed them from Darla, but catching them is the only way we can save them. I have some Heal Balls that would work."

"I don't need one." Halt said, walking over to the now freed Noivern. "Hey, this is just to help you. Trust me." Halt placed one hand on it's head, and tapped the pokemon with a pokeball. Noivern was sent inside. It shook once, twice, three times, and a capture. He left the cavern, Lucario close behind. Halt placed the pokeball in his PPH, and let it heal up the Noivern. "Gonna take a while, then your free." Halt doesn't want Noivern to stay with him if it doesn't want to, so he's gonna smash the ball when it's healed.

"Even if we did," Asriel told him sadly, "We'd somehow have to get past the rest of her team. And then we'd have to unbury Galvantula. They've clearly been abused...Noivern, even if it didn't die in the collapse, wouldn't listen to us. Who's to say it wouldn't turn on us to get approval from Darla?" Asriel felt horrible. His starter was badly burned, his other pokemon shaking from fright in his arms, and his efforts to save them all very likely killed two pokemon. Even though he considered Darla wicked and cruel, the pokemon weren't; they just anted to please the human they loved most.

"Noivern may listen to us. She did realize what a horrible person Darla is," was Kaleb's response. By the time Pancham was able to pull Galvantula out, it had been 15 minutes and she didn't look like she was breathing.

"We were too late, buddy," Kaleb said to Pancham. "Rest In Peace, Galvantula. Rest In Peace."

And with that, Kaleb and Pancham rejoined the rest of the group after healing Pidgeotto and Pichu.

Spade sighed as she sat down "Don't you guys ever do something so stupid again!". Her eyes narrowed as she coughed. looking down to her arms she saw a stream of red flow down it "Ah dang it!". She snagged her arm on a rock being brought out by the Lucario, she slowly placed her hand on the wound before wincing in pain.

"What's stupid, was rushing the battle. Be aware of your surroundings." Halt turned back to the bushes. "Im heading back to my base camp. I will not be joining you guys for the time being." He started to walk into the trees, Heracross and Lucario following in suite.

"So, what now?" Kaleb asked the group.

"I guess I never properly introduced myself. I'm Kaleb, and these are my Pokémon." He threw his pokeballs. "Pancham, Pichu, and Pidgeotto," he said. "Meet the group."

"I don't mean to burst your bubble, but her Gardevoir knows teleport. We're definitely still within it's range, and I'd like to fix that. Anyone in agreement?"

Qin anxiously surveyed their surrounds half expecting Darla to teleport right next to them with a vengeance. His eyes widened slightly as he saw Halt strut off, fully intent on being a lone wolf. He almost didn't register Kaleb's introduction, but in his slightly dazed state of mind he numbly muttered,

"Qinlan..."

Asriel rushed over and pulled out his first aid kit. "This'll hurt but you won't get sick after," he told her, pulling out the disinfectant and bandages. "You want some help with this or do you want to do this part," he asked, knowing how stubborn the girl can be.

"I'm Asriel," he introduced before waving at Qin with the medical supplies. "We need to get Spade fixed up before she catches an infection," he pointed out.

Spade growled at Halt in response "Idoit" she mumbled, before turning to Asriel "Thanks, and I'll do it myself". Taking the supplies Asriel handed her in one hand she went to work bandaging her gash on her shoulder.

When Halt thought they were out of earshot, he turned to his two main fighting pokemon. Spheal isn't really wanting to fight yet. "She didn't want us in the mountains, so lets go to the mountains." His pokemon nodded in agreement, and the trio tried to sneak around the group's location to get to the main road back up the mountain. "Now, to find their secrets." He checked the PPH. It stated 74% healed. It's just a prototype, so it doesn't work all to fast.

"No problem," the emerald eyed boy said as he set Sleipnir up in his Portable Pokemon Healer, otherwise known as the PPH. "I hope Noivern can be healed..." he mumbled. It was bad enough that the Galvantula was a lost cause. Darla's face when she realized how hurt they must be would haunt him for years, he was sure.

Kaleb was training his Pidgeotto by using its attacks on a nearby tree, which was how most of his Pokémon trained, since he didn't have enough for 2v2 yet.

"Quick Attack!" he said, and Pidgeotto traveled at max speed and hit the tree and knocked off the bark.

After Spade was finished she placed the supplies down, her eyes trained on Kaleb as he started to train. Her breath came out as a sigh as she took out her partners pokéballs letting them return, she placed Quill's in the PPH first, placing Tailgates on her belt.

"She said she didn't destroy the boat herself and she didn't sound in charge... How far does this go?" Asriel asked in despair as he hand fed Jitter berries to calm the terrified pokemon's nerves.

Spade stood up and walked next to Asriel, placing a hand on his shoulder "I don't know, but what ever they are after I just know we can't let them have it". The female smiled lightly as the PPH dinged signing that Quill was fully healed, quickly switching Quill out of Tailgate to let her heal as well. the sun started to drop as temperature dropped as well, sending a shiver up Spades spine "Come on, lets not sit here is sorrow, we should head back to camp for the night".
