“Nice to meet you,” Cairo said to Erel, mildly surprised at the enthusiasm with which she greeted Absol. “I’m Cairo, and this is my partner Absol.” She grinned as Absol imperceptibly leaned into the other girl’s hand. “She likes you.”

As the Luxio pressed closer to its trainer’s side, Cairo smiled understandingly. “It’s all right,” she said. “We’ve all been there. Absol takes quite a bit of time to warm up to new people, but it seems like she’s taken a liking to you.”

"That's pretty cool to hear! I know that a lot of people in both the Contest and Battle worlds have lost sight of having fun in what they do. You gotta enjoy what you do." Robin said. He smiled happily as the Mightyena barked, continuing to rub her belly a little more. The swordsman looked up from the doglike Pokemon, looking over to where Cairo and the boy were talking with the other girl with the Luxio. Whoever she was, she seemed to have a similar reaction to Robin when it came to dog-sized furry Pokemon.
"Hey, Cairo! Are we just going to sit around all day, or are we going to head over to the Professors?" Robin called over to the girl.

“Oh!” Cairo started, realizing she had gotten completely sidetracked. “Um, um, right. Let’s go!” She started to walk away, then realized that would seem rude, and that she had absolutely no clue where she was going. She turned back to Erel and Skyle. “Do you... do you want to come with?”

Robin couldn't help but to smile as he watched Cairo start to head the wrong way. Giving one final pet to Sass, Robin stood back up and grabbed his backpack. Seeing her trainer start to get ready, Cherry finished up playing with the Eevee. The Plusle gave her new friend a wave before rushing back to her human, climbing Robin's leg and jumping onto his shoulder. Robin threw his backpack on once again, securing his sheathed sword comfortably before nodding at both Alex and Sass. Cairo had seemed to realize she was heading the wrong direction, correcting course.
"This way, kiddo." Robin said, pointing a thumb to the north. He turned to Alex and Sass. "Well, it was nice meeting you and your adorable Mightyena. Maybe we'll run into each other again soon."
