Kiri scratched his head and wondered how Riley could be so confident, as he didn't see a reason to go against his way of thinking "I guess so!" Kiri said cheerfully as he had one thing revolving in his mind I can't wait to finally fight trainers like these, like Aspen and Riley and everyone "Is there anything else we know? "Who knows.", Riley said as they reached the stadium. "Anyways, when is your battle?", he asked. "Do you think you can handle a double battle?", Riley asked jokingly.
Kiri took the question seriously as he popped a grin on his face and said just a bit too loudly "Of course.." Kiri looked up at the huge arch as they entered the stadium "I'm going to win the tournament, and start my way to being the strongest trainer"
"I don't know about that Kiri.", Riley with a smirk. "After all, you're going to have to beat me.", Riley said. "And that is going to be really hard for you.", exclaimed Riley, confidently.
"I told you before" Kiri looked back at Riley and smile brightly, like a friend would do despite in the situation their in "I'm going to win this tournament and hop over any hurdle that comes in my way...it's a promise, I'll see you on the battlefield" Kiri said anxious and feeling something that he's used to feeling but loves it everytime, competition

For some reason, Riley felt he had to take those words seriously. "Okay then Kiri. It's settled then. Get to the finals, and then I'll acknowledge you as a rival!", exclaimed Riley as they arrived in the trainer lounge.
Some of the trainers turned around.
"How is that kid going to be Riley's rival?!", exclaimed one of the trainers. "Yeah, look he still has a Pichu!", said another. "And I'm still wondering how Riley got out of jail after what his Scizor did.", another said. Those were some of the conversations they could hear.
"Wow, maybe I shouldn't have said that to loud.", said Riley as he rubbed the back of his head.
Some of the trainers turned around.

Kiri smiled in agreement as another hurdle Kiri must cross appeared, Kiri shook his head as all the other trainers looked down on him, Kiri's Pichu slightly felt bad for Kiri for being such a bad first impression on him in response Pichu shouted all around him "Pichu Pichu!"
"It's all right.." Kiri said with a bright smile, almost like he wasn't really hurt at all "I'll prove it to them by winning the tournament with Pichu" Kiri said naively and walked past the mean glances towards him "Oi Riley" Kiri looked back at him as he stopped "Do you know who's up next?"

Jonas jumped up from his position in the stand and jumped into the middle of the battlefield. "Looks like i'm up." He said. Neve ran into the stand to watch Jonas.
"Good luck!" She shouted
"Thanks...babe..."
His opponent ran towards him. He was in an army costume with heavy boots. "Hello Jonas." He said.

"Yes..."

Kiri shook with excitement in his voice "I can't wait.." Kiri said as he walked towards the lounge, he prepared for his fight as he sat down and folded his arms and closed his eyes "Who am I going to send out now?..."
Drew watched as Jonas sent out his pokemon. wondering what this Andy had instore for him. He noticed that the other three looked like they were watching the battle intently. " You know." Tess said. " These four could be good friends if you let them."
" Do I really have a choice in the matter." Drew asked.
" Nope." Tess said giving him a small smile.
" I hate you sometimes." He said at Tess he had a smile on his face.
" Quite lying." She said looking at him with a smile on her face.

Aspen sighed. She was back in the lounge, watching battles. "We have to watch out for type disadvantages, but we don't have to have the advantage to win. Just be careful..." She was muttering to herself, and still sipping her milkshake. She pulled out her type disadvantage-advantage chart. "Arceus, I have a problem... I'm taking this WAY too seriously..." Aspen barely noticed Chu go over to see Pichu. She did notice a Gardevoir and a fellow Trainer. "Hm..." she said, not taking a whole lot of notice. She was more focused on what Pokemon Jonas, that's what the announcer said his name was, would send out.

A pool appeared for Jonas's Sharpedo."Now it's my turn. Go Aggron and Forretress!" The two pokemon appeared, Aggron looking like it could take down several buildings.
"Two steel types eh? You haven't covered your weaknesses well!" Jonas commented.
"Just you wait for once! Forretress use flash cannon!" A Blast followed it's way to Camerupt.
"Now Lava Plume!" Flames flew from Camerupt's volcanic humps. They destroyed Forretress's flash cannon attack. They hit both Aggron and Forretress. Forretress looked weak.
"Good thing his ability is sturdy...he was going to faint!"
"Ha! Admit it. You're weaker!"
"Maybe I am...Now heavy slam Aggron!" Aggron went to bash Camerupt.
"Sharpedo, take the hit and then use crunch!" Sharpedo jumped out of the water and took the hit, and went back into the water. Then he bit Aggron hard. Jonas looked at Sharpedo's teeth and some of them looked worn out.
"Use our special tactic!"
"Excuse me?!"
Aggron grabbed Forretress and threw him at Camerupt. "Now gyro ball!" Forretress started spinning in the air.
"Dddodge it..." Camerupt jumped to avoid the attack but got hit.
"And again!" Andy shouted.
"Sharpedo, use Aqua jet to counter the attack, Camerupt use Eruption!" Sharpedo flew towards the spinning Forretress in the air and they collided. Forretress fainted.
"Dammit!" Andt roared. But it was not the end of the attack. The aqua jet hit Aggron. Lava came out of Camerupt's volcano humps. The floor was filled with lava. Aggron was hurt.
"We're not giving up that easily! Earthquake!" Aggron jumped up and down and the lava suddenly disappeared. Camerupt was hit and fell onto the floor, fainted.
"Earthquake again!" Aggron jumped up and down once more shaking the floor. It aimed for Sharpedo but Sharpedo was in the water.
"Ice fang, then aqua jet!" Sharpedo came out of the water.
"Dodge it!" Aggron slide to the side but Sharpedo curved round in the air, biting it with a frosty touch and then turning into a watery hit. Aggron was knocked out.
"Aggron is unable to battle. Jonas in through to the next round!" The announcer shouted. Jonas smiled and Neve came from the lobby and hugged him. "I'm so proud of you." She said.

Pichu discussed random things with the Raichu hes grew fond off, as Kiri was in a different mood

Aspen noticed that Kiri was next. She stopped thinking about battling for a second and went over to him. "You look stressed. Don't be! You're gonna do fine. I think it's just pressure. I mean, Hoenn League Tournament. Pretty big deal. But it all boils down to who's the best trainer. You've been talking about how you're gonna beat everyone and win this thing, go do it!" Aspen hoped her pep talk worked. She wasn't exactly the best at inspirational speeches.
Kiri's body jolted a bit from Riley's push as he smirked and nodded "Right!" He turned to Aspen, he raised his hand and formed a thumbs up "Thanks, I'll see you guys in the next round" He said with anticipation, as he was ushered to the stage making sure he wasn't late like he nearly was in his first match he has not thought of his team at all as he decided he would go and wing it as he always did as it seemed that hes been right so far
The announcement came on the speaker "We're back with the next round of the doubles segment! In one stage we have a pokemon trainer from Lavender Town, Kil!"
A young man walks out onto the stage looking a bit young, he was wearing a cooking outfit "I'm here to win! Come!"
"And on the other side we have.......Kiri Kelain from Twinleaf Town!!"
Kiri walked onto the stage with his Pichu on his shoulder, as he stood in front of everyone. Contrary to the trainers in the lounge most og the spectators rooted for Kiri having no bad blood against him, the arbitrator walked out in the middle of the battle and had two flags in his hand "Two pokemon each, double battle when both of the opponents team is knocked out"
Kiri closed his eyes and took two pokeballs at random as he opened his eyes he threw them up in the air "Come on out!" The two pokeballs erupted revealing Sceptile with the strange white strip rope bandage on it's wrist "Scep!!" It shouted and Swellow came flapping her wings on top of Sceptile it chirped "Swell Swell!" Pichu sighed with a loud "Pi.." In response Kiri slightly patted his head "Dont worry about it Pichu you'll get the next one!"
Kil the challenger smirked and threw his pokeball in the air as a Gardevoir and a Mawile appeared Kil smirked "This is the power of my pokemon! Prepare to TASTE defeat"
Kiri couldn't help but laugh at the terrible pun as he was the only one who saw it funny, Sceptile and Swell including Pichu sighed "Pi..." "Swel..." "Tile.." They said obviously disappointed somewhat as the ref raised one of his flags and waved it down wards "Battle Start!"

Aspen smiled. She was excited to see her new friend battle again, and hopefully win. Chu's cheeks were sending sparks flying. It was awful close to Aspen, and she didn't exactly want to get shocked, so she moved over a little bit. She was watching the battle, and still sipping that milkshake. Aspen laughed a little at the pun that the chef-looking guy made. "Haha, he's a chef and he said TASTE defeat."

Patrick, Ella, Jonas and Neve were all in the stand routing for Kiri. They had seen him several times in the tournament already and some even recall seeing him during the walking building event. They had decieded to postbone their outing to the Five Starmies with Drew until all their double battles had been finished.
Riley watched the battle on the tv in the trainer lounge. "This should be a piece of cake.", murmured Riley as he watched Kiri send out Sceptile and Swell. "Interesting choice to pick Sceptile and a Swellow.", murmured Riley didn't know that Kiri chose them randomly.

Aspen watched eagerly. "Sceptile and Mawile... hmm..." She noticed another trainer watching too. Should I introduce myself? Aspen wondered. Then her Pokegear rang. It was Zoe. Aspen picked it up. "Uh, hello, hello?Hello, hello!"
Zoe laughed. "Uh, I wanted to give you a message that might get you a little pumped for your second battle." They were doing something from Six Nights at Spinarak's, one of their favorite video games.
Aspen chuckled. "Will it make me wish the game had a 'flip desk' function again?"
"No, but I think you've got a shot at this."
"You actually think I could win?"
"I think you have a chance."

Aston went to one of the side rooms to lock in. In it, there was the dirty corpse of a certain forgotten Jaden. Patrick was casually on his way to get a snack. He had decieded to go for the popcorn which was on sale on the stand and he had reached the stall when he glanced at Aston as he locked the door of the side door.
"Where'd ya get that key?" Patrick asked, curiously.
"It's none of your buisness tark!" Shouted Aston, and he went to punch him. Patrick responded immediately and he pushed him into the wall.
Patrick grabbed the key. "You and your dodgy goings on with the Masqueraders...why aren't you in prison?!"
"Your girlfriend is stupid and so is her dad...he acts all smart and then he can't catch a simple decoy."
"What?! One-she's not my girlfriend. Two-She's intelligent and so is her dad. Three-How did you know that? and four What do you mean by 'decoy'?"
"Let me tell you that I answer only to Darius...he gathers information from all...and you'll soon learn what I mean by 'decoy." He gave Patrick and evil smile. Patrick grabbed the key off of him and opened the door to see a dead Jaden.
"You what?!" Patrick shouted. "Someone call the police!" Aston ran out and Patrick followed.

Kiri shouted "Oi Swellow, Sceptile lets win this and move onto the next round!" Kiri declared as the Gardeovir and Mawile stand there the opponent Kil shouted "Mawile use crunch both of them in one sweep! Gardevoir back Mawile up by using psychic on the two pokemon so they can't move!" Gardevoir's eyes glow as Mawile charges the two pokemon, Sceptile and Swellow can't seem to move as Sceptile struggles to move but his shaking hands provide no movement
Mawile leaped into the air as it's gigantic jaw on it's back opened it's jaw as it prepared to chomp on both the immobilized Swellow and Sceptile, Kiri clicked his tongue Closer.....Closer.... Kiri then shouted "Sceptile bullet seed!" The Sceptile barely opened it's mouth and fired a barrage of seeds towards the gigantic jaw, which wasn't enough to injure the Mawile but it hit causing a puff of smoke to appear around Mawile Sceptile and Swellow
"You really are an idiot, Mawile was too close to Sceptile and Swellow meaning that they got caught in the explosion too!" The young chef stated and extended his arms towards Kiri
"What do you mean?" Kiri asked curiously and obliviously, as from the smoke emerged a barrage off seeds firing from the smoke, the seeds caught Gardevoir off guard "Gardevoir, Jump over it!" Kil shouted as Gardevoir's glowing eyes disappears and she leaps straight upwards over the bullet seeds some how still able to dodge over it
"Now Swellow quick attack!" Kiri shouted followed by his abrupt waving of hands as the smoke erupts into pieces from Swellow's swift movements as a white light trails behind her she charges towards Gardevoir, Gardevoir had no time to react from Swellow's quick attack as Swllow's tackles Gardevoir causing the Gardevoir to plummet towards the ground with a bang
"Gardevoir!!" Kil shouted as the heavily injured Gardevoir somehow stood up with all it's injuries "Garde...."
Mawile goes flying back towards Gardevoir nearly causing her to collapse against her, once the smoke clears it revealed a Scpetile with it's blades coming from its elbow as they soon dissaperes

"We're only just getting warmed up!" Kiri said as Pichu confidently nodded "Pichu!"

Aston's legs flew across, like some speed demon, jumping from building to building. Patrick raced out but he wasn't a fast runner, unlike Aston. Suddenly, Aston tripped and Patrick gained up on him. "What are you hiding?!" He shouted. Then some policemen appeared from below and grabbed Aston but he escaped their clutches. Now a horde of Policemen and Policewomen followed Aston.
"We've received word...from an individual..."
"That'll be me that phoned you!" Patrick roared.
Aston jumped into a dark alleyway but the figure of Looker was there. He grabbed him. "So...you've been hiding something eh?!" Looker asked
"Please no...I didn't kill Jaden...we were friends...I..."
"And how can you prove this...?"
"Please please....Darius told me...we got a tape of the plan..." Aston reached towards his pocket and handed Looker the tape.
The Tape played.
"So...you've got rid of that pesky Jaden...he's one of them..." It was Darius's voice.
"No...I couldn't we're..."

The Tape stopped.

"I don't know!" Aston spat. "He stabbed me and left...He did say he would be in the stadium when his match came..." He showed them the large cut in his belly left by Darius. Some police officers came to help him. "Thanks. He talked about this wierd order called 'the council of elements' which included one of the admins during the Nexus event."
"What could that mean?" Patrick asked. Looker seemed curious too.
They all stood there for a while asking Aston questions, which he was unable to answer.
The group started to disperse as the events were reported by the media.
"We've received word...from an individual..."
"That'll be me that phoned you!" Patrick roared.
Aston jumped into a dark alleyway but the figure of Looker was there. He grabbed him. "So...you've been hiding something eh?!" Looker asked
"Please no...I didn't kill Jaden...we were friends...I..."
"And how can you prove this...?"
"Please please....Darius told me...we got a tape of the plan..." Aston reached towards his pocket and handed Looker the tape.
The Tape played.

Drew walked away when all the commotion was happening. He heard just enough of the information. He took out his work phone and called Cortez.
" I take it you heard." Cortez said. Drew was about to say something wondering How Cortez knew about it. " You should know me well enough to know I have contacts everywhere." he said as if reading Drew's mind. "I'm bumping up the time table."

Darius sat in a darkened room. "So you've arrived..." A masked man appeared with the signature mask of the Masqueraders. He appeared to be some kind of hunter.
"Yes boss, tis I, Hunter. The Kanto and Johto branches are destroyed...we cannot hold out..."
"You really did bad going losing to that poor girl...you shall make up for it. You will be given a very special Parasect, for it is Gideon's Parasect. Attack the target when you see him."
Hunter looked at the list and gathered his weapons but then stopped. "Actually, if it's Gideon's Parasect, then I won't need these."
"Goood....." Darius replied.
Patrick arrived back at the stadium and many of the trainers had seen the report on the TV screens. Ella looked worried.
"Patrick I-" Before she could say anything else, some journalists pushed Patrick into a side room where they interviewed him. Patrick was nervous. Then he saw Hunter in the group. The rest of them dispersed and Hunter was alone with him. "Hello, you're called Patrick, aren't you? There is something I have to show you...Looker told me..."
Hunter took Patrick to a side street noone was on. "Hunter what?! What are you showing me?"
"Nothin'. I am an agent of the Masqueraders! You will die!" A Parasect jumped from the top of the building next to them and grabbed Patrick.

Parasect jumped over Fire Bird's attack."Who are you? What do you want with the master's plans? Cross poison!" Hunter shouted. The Parasect's claws glowed purple and Parasect charged at Fire Bird. Patrick crept away from Hunter slowly but Hunter grabbed him. "Don't think you're getting away from me, son!" Hunter had been hired by Darius to take Patrick, as Darius believed he had found something within Patrick. A large bounty would be paid to him in return.

A clapping sound was heard through out the council. "I applaud to your conclusion.", said the mysterious masquerader as he slowed down his clapping to a monotone clap. When his clapping came to a stop once he recieved the attention of the other members, he started to speak.
"Tell me, what then? Will we fight for the position of master or will we determine that through democracy? As we all know, in a democracy, they're always those who disagree. Those who will cause an uprising if they don't have their way. However, I have a suggestion that may work if you are willing to listen. A way to settle this problem without any setbacks for us.", stated the masquerader. He then looked around to see if anyone would respond.

Riley turned to notice Luke was back. "Luke?!", exclaimed Riley. "Where have you been?! Wait, judging from your attitude, it seems you haven't heard yet. You were gone for so long that you were eliminated from the tournament!", Riley told Luke, who felt bad to tell him the news.

"I won't let you! Mawile protect!" Kil shouted as the Mawile jumps in front of the Gardevoir, and a small green barrier is formed in front of the Mawile, the bullet seed and the quick attack collide with Protect causing Swellow to fly backwards and the bullet seeds to break on impact
"That was my mistake guys i forgot about the Mawile" Kiri said with some guilt in his voice He's trying to set up Gardevoir and use Mawile as a way to stall until then..I have to take out that Mawile as fast as i can
Gardevoir finished her move as she bustling with power, Kil smirked "You see that? That's our way of cooking up a dish of victory! Now Gardevoir calm mind again!" Garevoir's eyes glow once again as her she meditated to get even stronger then she already was" Kil then yelled "Oi, your the kid that said you were gonna win. I won't thrash talk anymore then i do....but if you want to win then" Kil raised his hand and pointed his thumb down and said confidently "Come and get me."
Kiri nodded brightly "Say no more, Sceptile leaf storm on Mawile" Sceptile leaped towards Mawile as leafs began to surround Mawile lifting Mawile up onto the ground in a vortex of leafs
"Swellow now's your chance use Steel Wing towards Gardevoir" While Mawile is suspended in the air Swellow flies past sceptile towards Gardevoir, it's wings begin to glow as Kil shouted at the Mawile "Don't let it reach Gardevoir!" Kil gave Mawile orders but not moves as Sceptile slammed Mawile into the ground in a swift leaf attack
The Swellow hit Gardevoir with a steel wing as the Gardevoir goes flying backwards, but somehow managed to stay inside the ring, Kil's Mawile has fainted in the middle of the stadium the ref then shouted "Mawile is unable to battle!" Kil calls Mawile back into it's pokeball "Dammit, Gardevoir it's all up to you!" Kil's Gardevoir stood up incredibly strong "Gardevoir use Shadow Ball, show them how strong we are"
A Shadow ball forms in Gardevoir's hands as it grows bigger and bigger two times it's original size as it's huge aura begins to cause shockaves of wind to scurry around the stadium, Kiri held onto his hat to ensure it didn't fly off "This Shadow Ball..it's strong" Sceptile won't be able to cut it...so our only chance is to find a way to avoid or cancel this attack
Kil laughed a bit "Puzzled right? Well good luck evading this now Gardevoir Fire!"
"Garde..voir!" She fired the immense shadow ball towards Swllow and Sceptile
A big explosion occurred, as smoke thickened around the arena as once the smoke cleared a fainted Swellow was on the ground heavily injured, Kiri knew what happened as he was incredibly distraught "Swellow....."
Kil laughed "Guess our meal was too spicy for your Swellow.." Upon saying that he realized, only Swellow fainted and was on the ground Sceptile was no where to be seen
Kiri said softly to hurt to say any emotion to it "Sceptile...Leaf Blade.." From the sky reveals a somewhat hurt Scpetile as it's blades extended from it's elbows while it was suspended in air
"T-That Swellow it..." Kil couldn't mouth the words, Gardevoir had no idea where the Sceptile has gone until Kil shouted "Above you Gardevoir!!"
The instance when Gardevoir looked up it was slashed by Sceptile's leaf blade, causing it to go flying into the walls of the arena, Sceptile grunted as it was injured and tightened it's band of bandage on it's wrist to showcase his endurance
"Gardevoir is no longer able to battle! Meaning Kiri wins and advances to the next round!" The crowd and cheered as Kiri walked on to the field and picked up the fainted Swllow "You did good Swellow..."
The Swellow lightly called "Swell..." Kiri returned Swellow to it's Pokeball and holstered it in his pocket he then looked at Sceptile and returned him to his Pokeball "Thanks a lot, sorry I wasn't good enough to come up with a strategy!"

After healing Swellow and Sceptile up at the Pokémon Center Kiri smiles and holsters the Pokeballs in his belt, he then left the Pokémon center and headed back to the trainer lounge
"We need to get stronger..." Kiri said as the Pichu looked at Kiri with a concerned face
