Hmmm perhaps Tomiko? Would not only make a good excuse for Mori to go, but give her a time to prove herself, and maybe ten in the jinchurki for a rank up.

Madoka also sounds good too, along with Sakura.

Azumi and reaver I don’t know, they seem to be busy

Are you implying Tomiko should go for being a Jinchuriki? Also "prove herself" is bold words XD. Depends on how any fights go.

Sakura depends on who Konoha sends, Madoka is like the only Suna representative unless kyuu decides to have Yasu in the arc. So she might come along. Kenji for sure.

Azumi is a no most likely, they have their own plot.

I'm actually plotting out my work load of characters fo be active this arc;

Sagisō & Furijia will be going

And I'll be introducing Hyōryugetsu and Baiyan,

Koki'o will also be going and I'll need to divert some attention to undermining Shen with Mei (The Mist is a den of wolves I swear, gotta know when to throw them meat and when to beat them back with a stick)

Since I'm moving with Mei, I'll have to have Mudan actually doing some things

And on second thought, i might need to send Hinagiku, since a team of genin doesn't bode well at all.

Wondering if I should have Ao attend as just a scout of if I should leave that role to Koki'o

Either way, the leaf should abuse it's higher population and bully the other nations with numbers

  • Hinagiku (defacto leader unless some other jonin is accompanying)
  • Sagiso
  • Furijia
  • Raiku
  • Shura
  • Shiho
  • Taiyo
  • Sakura
  • Zeno (?)
anyone else for our Konoha squad?

I recall reading something about Kakashi?

Is he moving solo? I kinda don't wanna give godjacob another character to be playing so I'd keep most of the powerhouses conveniently off-screen.

I'd toss in Takato, but yeah I'd rather focus on one elite of each village along with our characters. Since I'm gonna be using Pakura for Suna, Guren for Iwa and...crap Kumo is tricky.

Also will Tayuya & Kiro be given something to do in the village? Don't see a reason they'd be part of the team, Tayuya especially.

Also as it stands...

Team Suna
-Pakura
-Madoka
-Yasu(?)

Team Iwa
-Guren
-Tomiko
-Mori

Team Kiri
-Darui (The alternative is Samui, who isn't strong enough to be a threat to a buffed Pakura, Guren or Hinagiku. But would or could Darui even go? Their village kinda sucks on the Jonin list without him.)
-Kenji
-Aisha

Konoha has a really, really big numbers advantage TBH. More people than if the others all banded together that that's if we include Yasu.

Seems too cluttered to be an effective squad. Maybe if we split this in half. Perhaps hingaku in one leading it and Asuma starting off leading the second?

Then there’s the mist group and sound group:

Mist:
Hama
Kai
Seiun tsuki

Sound:
Sakon
Ukon
Kidomaru
Kou
Zaku

Plus other things that could come up along the way....

Tossing Kou into the mix. Should be good to see what he brings to the table XD. But why would Orochimaru not send Kin or Yukimaru? (Besides imbalance scaling to the Sound's side to make it unfair.)

Orochimaru said something about that if I recall correctly, the squads from each village are presumably capable enough to capture 1 Tailed Beast so who says that they won't try and steal 2 more from a well-known criminal?

Works for me.

Also how do I justify Darui leaving Ay's side to lead the Kumo troops? I need someone to compete with the other Jonin and Samui and her brother are not enough. Plus Killer Bee & Yugito is not in this story so I have limited options.
I have no plausible idea for Darui leading the Kumo troops, Ay would want his right-hand man with him in this time of crisis. If only the Gold & Silver brothers were still alive, then this problem was solved in no time

^this thanks DarkHydraT for remembering that. People read my posts! I knew it!

Really Kumo is part of the bigger issue...Konoha makes the other nations in canon look so laughably weak that any sense of balance gets tossed out the window.

The fact I needed to toss Guren into Iwa and beef up Pakura (And bring her back from the grave) just so Suna & Iwa can compete on this lone mission says it all.

Oh god, are we already doing this? I just beefed up my cast I don't want them to be irrelevant so soon XD

But to answer your question, I don't know who has what Tailed Beast. Besides Orochimaru's and mine I have yet to introduce.
On the contrary she'll become drastically weaker after becoming a Jinchuriki. Since she wouldn't have had Matatabi from childhood she'll generally go through what Rin went through to a lesser degree, I.e. Rampages, Nightmares, pain, etc.

Rampaging Sagiso does not sound like something you'd want to face, especially when Matatabi tries to take her over

Eh, having a Tailed Beast inside you is never NOT an advantage. Just ask Naruto, who despite having a beast who despised him still could benefit off its powers. It would only buff Sagiso, not make her "weaker."

That only applies to a tailed beast who's docile or under control, a tailed beast against its user is solely a disadvantage.

They're not free stores of chakra, they are fully capable of refusing to lend chakra to their Jinchuriki, and can even rampage and harm their Jinchuriki, and they don't have to care since they're functionally immortal.

Naruto benefited from Kurama because Kurama was using the leakage of chakra at opportune moments to weaken the seal. Every other Jinchuriki shown was one that had forcefully taken control of their Biju's chakra, and were perfect Jinchuriki.

The rare example of a Jinchuriki struggling with his/her tailed beast would've been Gaara and Blue-B.

Yes they are. Even the ones with questionable ties to their beast (Gaara and Naruto) only got benefits, not drawbacks. Naruto even was taught early on how to just borrow chakra from an unwilling beast.

I think this screws up scalling and puts Sagiso on a pedestal, but that is just me.

Naruto was not taught how to draw chakra from an unwilling beast until Shippuden where he battled Kurama and forcefully took its chakra.

Prior to that Kurama was never unwilling because it wanted to use the opportunity to whittle away at the seal.

Shukaku was also not an unwilling party because it was actually pushing Gaara to utilize it in slaughter, which is the reason for his demented personality.

We've never seen a Jinchuriki draw chakra from an unwilling tailed beast. They've all been willing or subjugated.

They ARE sentient entities with their own wills after all.

My overall point was we never saw any Tailed Beast act as a disadvantage for anyone who had them. It only provided benefits, so it would not make Sagiso weaker; especially considering the Two Tails is much nicer than Kurama ever was. There are a number of reasons why she'd be willing to give Sagiso a boost; either self serving or some other factor.

Anyway got class, be back to kill the mood in the future. Sorry about all this I just have doubts making one of our cast a Jinchuriki pre Shippuden is a good idea.
