Kakashi is not an Uchiha. Itachi even comments that Kakashi lacks the stamina of the Uchiha to make full use of the eyes, that is on the make-shift surgery to get it not the eye.

And Gentle Fist is an Taijutsu style not a product of the Byakugan. Yes they take the most advantage of it but it is not an inherent power of th eyes like the Sharingan.
When we're talking about stealing eyes then your first point becomes completely moot because everyone who steals it wouldn't be an Uchiha.

It's not a product of the Byakugan, but it becomes a lot easier to replicate once you have a Byakugan.

You need to remember that as of Part 1 Lore, the Sharingan descended from the Byakugan. The Sharingan had nowhere near the level of feats it currently has and it was, in essence, an inferior Byakugan until such statements were retconned by Kishimoto.

Nah my point with that is that you cited Kakashi's stamina as a down side to Part 1 Sharingan when it is just the shitty surgery he got and not being an Uchiha. Danzo even shows with better surgery you can get better benefits.

Indeed, and I did not dispute that. Either way I'd take Part 1 Sharingan over the Byakugan 10/10 times. Just has more benefits and the Byakugan's advantages are not distinct or significant enough for me to favor them.

By that same token the Third Hokage is the strongest Kage and Gaara never had a Jinchuriki but a different demon altogether.

Retcons happen, you can't just ignore them or isolate lore to half the plot. I'd like to forget most things post Pain happened but it did and is canon.

All Non-Uchiha have an increased Chakra consumption for the Sharingan. Danzo can't really be sited because he had Hashirama cells, so unless everyone is also going to get Hashirama cells they're going to end up with the same issue as Kakashi.

I would take Part 1 Byakugan over Part 1 Sharingan in the same way. *shrugs*

Retcons can't be used here, because they don't fit the argument.

Hmmmm...let me try to explain this.

Retcons can't be accounted for in this case, because the situation we're talking about, Sharingan vs Byakugan and why the Sharingan didn't get a similar treatment, was based on the information known only at that time.

That means that the decision to give the Byakugan a curse mark was made at a point where the Sharingan hadn't been retconned with buffs.

You can only really argue using the situation that was present at the time the decision was made.

As far as part 1 was concerned the 3rd Hokage was the strongest Kage, because at that point there existed no information of someone superior to him. We didn't know about any other kage except for Minato, who's strength we weren't aware of.

He was claimed to be the strongest at a time when no one stronger existed. The appearance of stronger Kage proves the statement false, but until that statement was proven false it was as correct as we could imagine.

You know the Curse Seal does make me wonder why the Uchiha never adopted or were forced to adopt it when they were alive given that (In canon) their eyes are objectively a billion times better, more valuable and more dangerous in the wrong hands.
I watched this awhile ago but he had the same idea.

Edit: He’s funny af btw. The first min or two had me dying lel

To give another example;

Naruto is without a doubt the strongest Kage.

This is a statement of fact, but if Kishimoto decides to pull some new Kage from some backwater village and make him stronger than Naruto, then the above statement would be proven false.

However, until that happens, with the information we currently have, Naruto is strongest Kage is fact, only until proven otherwise by the show.

Some serious dedication Shen, kudos to you!
Haha thanks! Will try my beast!
What is something that happened in the RP that was different from what you planned or expected going into it or early on? Something that the flow of the RP caused you to change or you just felt desired to change it.

For me it is Tomiko. She was just meant to be an extra, a name to fill in the Iwa quota and nothing more. But then she became a co-main with Azumi.

Hm...I suppose it was when platinum left, kinda wish he didn’t

I mean at the time I'd argue the Sharingan was superior to the Byakugan and Kakashi's one statement on the matter doesn't change that fact so I do find it bizarre all the same.

Highly recommend especially since the best arc is finally being animated next month! Story is amazing too!

Back to our Naruto discussion though. Any other categories? I would ask most memed but that already goes to Kai XD
Kai: Damn straight
Character with the most potential? Although I fear Kou takes that
...you guys worry too much XD

Yea and that would've been an interesting argument to have, but you wouldn't have had many feats to back it up. The only people feats you could pull up at the time would've been Chunin exam Sasuke and Kakashi.

I swear if he turns out to be a Yuki, Kai would commit some genocidal acts for letting a Yuki live on the street
Nope he isn’t.
But if he were....

....which is a bad thing?

Anyway got dinner be back ASAP.
It's not exactly a bad thing but it wouldn't have given you anything conclusive. The Sharingan never did anything for Sasuke that the Byakugan wasn't doing for Neji. There's 0 chance base Lee was moving faster than Zero-tails Kyuubi Cloak Naruto, so you wouldn't even have been able to say the Sharingan had visual prowess that was as good.

The other things would've been Genjutsu and the ability to copy jutsu.

Okay this is just like....objectively wrong. But I won't continue this discussion here. I'll move it to a convo once I finish eating.

Lmao, it's at a time like this I remember that most of the people in here are kids xD

Between myself, Zander, and Retro I'm sure we could splurge on less-than-child-friendly comments lmao. Shen tries to actively avoid them, and godjacob is so low-key about it (but we're onto him), almost everyone else is varying degrees of too young or too innocent xD

To keep this relatively on topic I'm going to bring up an OC I made with the purpose of exploring some fighting styles for Sagisō

Name: Plumeria Egle
Gender: Female
Race: Beastkin (Serpent)
Age:19
Class: N/A - She plans to choose one after becoming an adventurer. Default? Huntress...I guess?
Rank: E
Points: 10
Quests Completed: 2
Quests Failed: 1

Appearance:

In classic Lamia fashion, Egle possesses the upper body of a human attached to a lengthy coil of slithering scale and muscle. From the tip of her tail to the crown her head, Egle is an approximate 7.82m (approx. 25.65 ft) in length. When standing upright she's 1.68m (5'6" ft), leaving a length of 6.14m (approx. 20ft) behind her.

Her scales are smooth and tightly packed together, and can mostly be found covering her tail. However, patches of scales can be found scattered along other sections of her body including her; cheeks, neck, torso, and arms. The coloration of her scales is, for the most part, darker hues of purple, blue and black, aligned in a simple camouflage pattern; with the exception of her underbelly, which is white, and a set of bright iridescent scales on her humanoid torso used for communication among those of the same species. All her scales are cool and smooth to the touch, but cable of providing basic defense, though in this as well, her underbelly and torso are the exceptions, being instead, soft, supple and warm. Most of her scales are matte, while her communal scales are glossy and lustrous.

As a snake species of Beastkin, she has access to a plethora of senses including; a forked tongue to assist a heightened sense of smell, heat-detecting pits hidden beneath the scales on her cheeks, a dual set of external and internal ears, tactile receptors across her body, and vibration sensitive tissue lining her underbelly. Her vision is, however, rather poor and limited to the few meters surrounding her. Egle is extremely sensitive to changes in temperature, and although not as greatly affected as her fully reptilian counterparts, she does poorly in cold climates.

Egle sports a lengthy head of black hair tied into a braid and thrown over her left shoulder. She decorates her hair with a dark metallic ornament of a snake utilized as a hair-binding, and a pair of silver hair needles. The serpentine hair accessory is a member of a 5-piece set of decor that consists of the hair-piece, a serpentine armband on her right upper arm, a snaky little ring on her left ring finger, and two pendants she keeps wrapped around her tail.

The skin on her humanoid half is a dusky brown, and its figure is lithe and toned. Egle's top half is clothed by a shoulderless coat that exposes her midriff. She also wears a skirt with split edges.

In her mouth is a pair of fangs attached to her venom gland, and behind those are a row of recurved teeth. While she has a preference for meat, she's capable of eating just about anything she can swallow whole.

She possesses yellow, slit pupils as well as both brille* and eyelids.

* The brille is the layer of transparent, immovable disc-shaped skin or scale covering the eyes of some animals for protection.

~~Transformation~~

Similar to mermaids, Egle is capable of manifesting human legs for more convenient travel. When manifested her tail does not disappear, but instead shortens to a length of 1.5m. Her legs are covered with the same coloration as her tail, with the white scales on her underbelly appearing on the inside of her thighs. The pair of pendants wrapped around her tail and transferred to her ankles after transformation and visa-versa.
Weapons:

  • Simple Iron Dagger.
  • Fangs
  • Does her Tail count?
Armor:
  • Scales (Offers limited protection)
Misc:
  • Large Copper x 43
  • Small Copper x 8
Passive:
  • Ki Affinity - Has the potential to use Ki, but lacks the guidance to turn potential into actuality.
  • Enhanced Senses - Heightened Touch, Smell, and Hearing. (Poor Vision)
  • Heat Sense - Can pick up on heat signatures through the heat receptors beneath the scales on her cheeks.
Active:
  • Stealth - Quite stealthy for one so large. (Only applicable in dark areas.)
  • Tracking - a natural born tracker.
  • Swimming - A powerful swimmer due to her versatile tail.
  • Hug - Comes in the lethal and non-lethal varieties.
N/A
Born in the arid deserts of the Beastman Alliance, Egle once belonged to a tribe of snake-kin who were scattered to the winds during the on-going war between the Beastman Alliance and the Holy Empire of Men. From a young age, she was captured and enslaved and spent most of her life growing up in the Holy Empire of Men. To be more specific she was sold to a noble in the south-western section of the Empire, several tens of kilometers from the border of Nyllia.

While she was never horribly abused, she wasn't exactly treated nicely either. Her 'owners' saw fit to feed her at their leisure, often irregularly as several days to weeks could pass before they remembered. She was more often than not, forced to scavenge for her own sustenance from wherever should get it eating everything from what birds and rodents she could catch to, on one occasion, the neighbor's pet cat.

On one outing, as her owners visited the nearby river, she seized the opportunity to slip into the water where her swimming abilities and larger lung capacity allowed her to escape pursuers. She survived mainly on what fish she could catch, and what creatures she could ambush at the River's edge. She kept to the shallows whenever she needed to rest and traveled beneath the surface for as long as possible. After several weeks, she'd managed to cross the border of the Empire and enter into the Queendom of Nyllia. Noticing the marked increase in the number of beastmen, she resurfaced and spent a short while within the Queendom, learning basic skills like Reading and Writing. It was also around this time that she changed her name to Plumeria, after the flower, representing Rebirth and New Beginnings. After a year or two, she decided to travel to Ternus and join the Adventurer's Guild as she was lacking in the skills to do anything else.

By a stroke of luck, she was able to swim all the way to the Guild's HQ!
There's a subtly lewd reference in there, but try your hardest to find it lol.

I'm not sure what I was gonna do with her since she kinda wound up diverging onto her own path, but initially I'd created her to test some fighting styles for Sagisō.
