Ask to Join Pokemon: A Summer's Break

[Hisseki]

Icarus gasped exaggeratingly, stepping back. "What's this? You think I'm a villain? Vio, how could you, and in front of the children!" He said, imitating a bad improv act on purpose.

He made a gesture towards Freddy and Goldie before noticing that one was angry at the other. "Freddy, why are you growling? What's up?" He asked, completely unaware that he currently possessed the purple top hat belonging to Goldie, and oblivious to the fact that said golden Eevee might just rip him to shreds for that hat.

Hesitantly, he walked closer to the children, patting Freddy lightly on the back. "Freddy, calm down, it'll be fine... whatever it was or is that you are angry at." He said in a calm voice to the silver Eevee child.

 

[Galaxy Sylveon]

Violet rolled her eyes "Yeah yeah" She muttered, then turned to look at Goldie and Freddy. 'Oh-Oh, Goldie ain't happy, neither is Freddy...wait'. "Icarus I think you should-"

Goldie lunged at Icarus and bit his nose, then climbed over him and skittering down his back, pounced in his tail and grabbed his hat, then returned to Violet side.

Freddy hissed at his smaller brother, watching his adjust his top hat.

Aqua bounced up and down excitedly. "Yes please!" she exclaimed.

Luna just rolled her eyes with a smile

 

[Hisseki]

Icarus watched Goldie lunge forward and bite his nose, scurrying down his back and then away from him and back to his mother. The pain didn't register for a while, and Icarus simply stood in place, confused as to what Goldie just did... then the pain set in.

"OW! What the heck!?"

He fell onto his back, recoiling from the pain despite it being a delayed reaction. He held his nose, frustrated that Goldie would do such a thing to his dear for-now father. "Goldie, what gives?" He asked, not exactly thrilled by the fact that he had just been bitten... again.

 

[Galaxy Sylveon]

Goldie pointed at his hat, hissing menacingly at Icarus. He then lay down and close his eyes, but not falling asleep.

Freddy went up to Icarus and licked his nose, trying to ease the pain.

"I tried to warn ya" Violet said, wrapping a tail around Goldie.

 

[Hisseki]

"You warned me just as soon as he did it..." Icarus muttered to himself.

Freddy came over to him and licked his nose. It tickled, which made him laugh. "H-hey! Hehe, you're too sweet." He said through laughter, squirming around slightly due to being tickled.

Goldie had hissed and pointed to his hat, which made Icarus realize he had probably done something related to said hat that he didn't exactly like. "Sorry Goldie, but if I did something you didn't like, you could've done something that was less... bitey. Your teeth are sharp, sheesh." He said, standing back up slowly.

"Vio, does he know Bite? Crunch? I know Bite, but did he get it as well?" He asked Violet, starting to worry for his own safety.

 

[Ariados twice]

Spectre grinned at the Vaporeon's reaction. "Alright then. Follow me." he said. He went to the doorway to wait for the Vaporeon to follow. Meanwhile, Lori gave Icarus a look of pity. "I've been on the receiving end of something like that. I should've figured he was going to do that from what you told me about him." the Braixen said.

Aqua rushed out the door before looking back to Luna. "If you need anything just give me a mental shout! I'm gonna go have fun!" she exclaimed, following the ghost type with an excited bounce in her step. "So Spectre! How are you? Do you like it here? Who's your trainer?" she asked.

 

[Ariados twice]

"I'm fine, I like it here, and my trainer is Tiffany Smith. Any other questions?" Spectre said with a hint of amusement in his voice. Aqua was quite different from Luna. Meanwhile, Toren had winced a bit when Goldie bit Icarus. "Ouch. That's got to hurt." he muttered to himself. He had been bitten before, by an angry Emolga, which was part of why he had winced. He was remembering his own experience.

 

[Il Fantasma]

After nodding a greeting to Violet and the Eevee children, Naya hopped off the bed, hunger still gone, and sat at its foot. She wasn't very sure what to say once again, so she stayed silent as she watched everything, looking from one Pokemon to the next in no particular order. An unexplainable, closed smile crossed her face as she did so.

 

[Ariados twice]

Lori smiled. "Well." Lori said, changing the subject. "Perhaps we should figure out this whole Showcase business. Now that I'm going to be in it too, there'll be some stuff to think about." the Braixen said, twirling her stick thoughtfully. She picked up the Pachirisu shaped cracker and put it in the bag she had been carrying. Perhaps later she could figure out whether that cracker had any significance towards a possible future event. Her Psychic powers did that on occasion.

 

[Il Fantasma]

"I'd love to figure out what's going on," Naya finally spoke, "but I'm not exactly sure where to find Missy, or Miss Meow. I don't know her room number, either..."

 

[Hisseki]

Icarus started to recall the events of the spectacle that might be the reason why Missy disappeared. He couldn't help it, he felt guilty. He looked at Violet, wondering if she ever felt the same. To divert the subject and produce a happier environment, hopefully, he tried using his psychic collar to juggle some berries like Lori did. He also hoped that it would make Goldie less hostile. After nodding in thanks to Lori and Toren, who both seemed to understand the pain of being bitten, he walked over to the berries. "Hey, Goldie, Freddy. Wanna see me try to juggle?" He asked.

Not waiting for a response, he used his psychic to lift up 3 Sitrus Berries and a Mago Berry, and attempted to move them in a circle above him. They did, but they moved in a ring mimicking the crackers from earlier. It didn't look like juggling. Icarus slowly tried raising the tilt of the circle so the berries floated around in a vertically-oriented circle, and after a single revolution, he lost control of the berries and they all came crashing down. The Mago Berry fell into his neck fluff, going so far down that rather than getting warmed or charred on the outside, it emitted smoke. "U-uh... that didn't work. Is that smoke? What the... don't panic, I'm fine..." He said, mumbling at first, his final words audibly directed at the two Eevees, disregarding whether or not they intended on panicking.

 

[Ariados twice]

"No one knows, except maybe the Pokémon behind the desk. Maybe he'd know." Honolulu said.she shifted from paw to paw, then put both paws on the ground. Toren preened himself. Flicker looked thoughtful for a moment, then nodded. "Seems like a reasonable suggestion." Flicker said.

"I have a lot more! Let's see...OOH! Have you ever been swimming? I've been swimming millions of times! Then again my trainer is a marine biologist so we do tons of swimming and diving! I love helping her out! In fact, just call me #1 assistant cause that's what I am to her...next to her sister and first Pokemon and favorite Pokemon!" she bragged.

 

[Ariados twice]

"That's cool. And as for if I've ever been swimming, I don't even know if ghost type Pokémon like myself can swim." Spectre said. "It must be pretty interesting having a marine biologist as a trainer." he said.

Aqua jumped up and down in excitement. "It's so much fun! We get to see so many water Pokemon, go on adventures, study the ocean, and help humanity better understand it! And playtime with Nicole is fun too! We both love the water and seeing the world! Oh hey! Have you ever heard of the Beya Region?" she asked.

 

[Ariados twice]

"Luna told me a bit about it. Why do you ask?" Spectre said. 'I think humanity needs all the help it can get. Especially when it comes to the environment.' the Mismagius thought to himself.

Aqua smiled. "Oh! So does it seem like a nice place? Would you visit someday? It's worth the trip! There are Pokemon that are only found there like my other teammate's species, Lullamera, the Siren Pokemon!"

 

[Ariados twice]

"I does seem like a nice place. I think I will visit someday." Spectre told Aqua. He nodded. "It's cool that there are places out there like Beya were it the only place those specific Pokémon live. Speaking of though, are there any Pokémon stealing bad guys there? Because my home region does, as do most well known regions unfortunately." the Mismagius said with a sigh.

Aqua pondered for a moment. "Hmm...not that we know of...there was a psychopathic artificial intelligence bent on enslaving all of humanity but we took care of it long ago. In fact that was our first adventure ever! Well...it was more of her high school field trip to see the region and become a trainer!" she recalled with a smile

 

[Ariados twice]

"Huh. Go figure. It's cool there a region out there that is also Pokémon stealing bad guy free." Spectre said. He smiled at Aqua. The Beya Region was sounding cooler by the minute to the Mismagius.

Aqua giggled. "Yep!! So how much longer until the pool? I think I'm drying up I can't wait to get in!" she asked, excitedly bouncing up and down.

 

[Ariados twice]

A few minutes later, they were at the pool. Spectre breathed a sigh of relief, glad that he remembered where it was. He floated next to a chair at the poolside.

Aqua immediately mad a mad dash for the water, throwing herself off the edge and into the water below. She sighed with content before flicking her tail and swimming around with a joyful smile on her face. "C'mon in! The water's fine!" she invited, momentarily forgetting what Spectre had told her.

"Like I said, I don't know if ghost types like myself can swim. But don't let that stop you from having fun." Spectre said to Aqua. He remained where he was.

Aqua sweatdropped as she remembered. "OOH! Right! Sorry! Well if you change your mind, I'm more than happy for company!" she smiled before going back under and swimming about.

 

[Hisseki]

Icarus struggled with the removal of the Mago Berry from his fluff. He pawed at it and shook himself until he realized that he had a psychic collar. After a well-deserved facepalm, Icarus lifted the berry out of his neck fluff using Psychic - and discovered that the end of the berry was on fire. Not exactly expecting it, he gasped and backed up a few steps quickly. His collar glowed with a brighter light as the berry shook wildly in the air, eventually meeting the same fate as the Custap Berry from earlier: splattering against the ceiling. Icarus stood in a combination of shock and sadness, the latter of the two emotions directed at the fact that he just wasted a perfectly good Mago Berry. "Aw, dangit. That would've been good to eat, too... minus the burning part. Welp, at least the fire's out." He said, looking at everyone in the room in no particular order.

He sweatdropped, then awkwardly picked up the three Sitrus Berries, rolling one to Goldie, one to Freddy, and the final one to Violet. This was easy, considering their locations being close to one another. He gave them an awkward, almost apologetic smile, and sat down on the ground, calming down, his collar no longer shining.

 

[Ariados twice]

'I guess I was right about how that other berry got splattered on the ceiling.' thought Honolulu. She was somewhat relieved that she didn't have to put the fire out, since she was the only water type in the room. 'Too bad about the berry though.' the Vaporeon thought.

Aqua came back up after what seemed like an hour and turned to face her new friend. "Having fun being bored on boring ol' dry land?" she teased. While she was nice and friendly, the Vaporeon couldn't help but be a bit cheeky every once in a while, much to her teammates' expense...

 

[Ariados twice]

Spectre was a little tempted to stick out his tongue at Aqua. He resisted the urge and just smiled. "You only say that because you've probably seen more interesting things in the water than I have on dry land. And it's not exactly boring to me, considering it's pretty much all I've known." the Mismagius said.

Aqua grinned. "Dry land: where gravity shows no mercy and it's a blazing wasteland. Down here we can fly and float and stay cool! And we have more color than your regular old flowers!" she taunted.

 

[Ariados twice]

"I'll take your word for it. With my luck the only way I'll ever go underwater is if I'm in a submarine." Spectre told Aqua. "Maybe my Treeko teammate Forrest can swim, but until I find out if I can, I'm staying on dry land." he continued.

Aqua 's mischievous grin never left. "Suit yourself..." she turned her back before finishing with one last 'insult' "...black snooty!" she then dove underwater and continued her aquatic fun, feeling very pleased with herself.

 

[Ariados twice]

The urge was too strong to resist. When the Vaporeon dove underwater he stuck his tongue out at her. Then he pulled it in once she resurfaced. 'Where is Forrest?' thought the Mismagius. He wondered what his Treeko teammate was up to.

Aqua continued to swim around and around the pool, spinning and twirling underwater, racing herself, and thinking about what she'd say to her trainer once she saw her again about her time at the resort. The mere thought made her smile.

 

[Galaxy Sylveon]

The three stayed eating the berries. Violet looked at Icarus and smiled gently "Maybe there's a reason that Goldie keeps biting you? I mean, he probably wouldn't do it for no reason". With that said, she ate the last part of the berry and then watched her two Eevee demolish theirs.

Freddy went up to Icarus and then looked up at the ceiling. He shot frost out of his mouth and it landed on the splattered berries, making them fall off the ceiling, but turn back into ripe, ready-to-eat berries too.

Goldie used his time powers to stop the two berries from hitting the ground hard, then let them fall lightly onto the ground.

 

[Ariados twice]

Honolulu stared open mouthed at the Eevee children. Lori's eyes widened as she watched the two young Eevees. She turned to Icarus. "Okay, now I'm curious. What's the deal with the collars?" the Braixen asked.

 

[Il Fantasma]

Naya's eyes widened as she watched this scene play out. "Whoa..." she said under her breath, never looking away from the now-perfectly-good-to-eat berries. "How come they can control their powers?" she joked, laughing lightly. "Lucky little boys. I'm guessing Freddy's collar is an ice-type, but what's Goldie's?"

 

[Galaxy Sylveon]

Violet turned to Naya "It's Time Manipulation" She said, casting a living glance at the golden Eevee that was tangled in one of her many tails.

Goldie turned and looked at Naya, eyes opening to look at her. Freddy noticed this but didn't mind it because it wasn't Icarus.
