“Ice Beam, then Whirlpool!” Nero released a Beam of sub zero energy which collided with each water pulse sphere freezing their outsides solid while the highly pressurized interior continued to spin violently inside its new icy container. The two sphere dropped harmlessly either side of Nero as the Empoleon summoned a hide whirlpool and launched it at Omi, diving in himself to utilize the extreme rotational energy to launch the twin pressurized spheres back toward Omi with extreme velocity.

Above, the sunny sky began to return to normalcy, which left Jaden with one last chance to make use of the Sunny Day he’d had Rapidash leave behind. Shade’s Bisharp was able to land the Fury Cutter strikes on Tangrowth, as its speed slowed even more from Sunny Day being on the verge of dispersing. Holding out for the right moment, his eyes widened from intensity and his crooked smile grew wider.

“Now! Catch it and use Solar Beam!”

Shortly after landing several of its Fury Cutter blows, Tangrowth used the vines from its body to initiate a Power Whip. As it did this, light began to form and collect in a ball above it. Similar to Focus Blast, this concentrated ball of energy would fire off a devastating Solar Beam, which thanks to the last remnants of Sunny Day came sooner than expected. Much like the combo attack his Rapidash used, Jaden was aiming to box Bisharp into a corner with Tangrowth. The vines coming from multiple directions due to Power Whip, and the Solar Beam being fired off in unison, would provide little room to escape both attacks.

You’ve never battled a person and Pokemon like us Shade…

The mix of anger and repressed enjoyment continued to make Jaden’s smile crooked and sadistic. Many thoughts swirled in his head, some telling him opposing truths, only confusing and stirring up his uncontrollable emotions more so.

There’s no way this can be fun...battling isn’t fun, it never has been. It divides people...so how...how come I feel good right now?...Heh...maybe because I can give her a taste of what pain’s like...yeah...that’s it...I’ll make you, and your Pokemon feel pain…

A combination of wicked and wild merged in Jaden’s eyes, as he began to chuckle as his Pokemon continued aiming to corner Bisharp.

“Hehehe...So...you wanna try and understand me Shade? You wanna try and be my friend? Is that it?...”

Looking his opponent in the eyes, he didn’t hold back the savage, cruelty, and pain his gaze let loose, as his tone of voice shifted from anger, to taunting and menacing.

“Then you’ll need to understand a lesson in pain. True pain...AND I’M JUST THE PERSON TO DISH IT OUT! WE’LL MAKE YOU REGRET EVER JOINING THIS TOURNAMENT, AND TRAMPLE ALL OVER YOUR PRECIOUS FUN!”

Shade watched as Jaden's face evolved and the corner her Pokemon was set in now. Something then snapped within her. He was similar to her after all. Giggling maniacally, Kiriki could sense her trainer had lost it. Taking matters into his own hands, he dual wielded Aerial Ace in one arm blade and Poison Jab in his other hand. His hand glowed a toxic purple as he aimed his hand at the Tangrowth's arm, while the light blue, elongated arm blade, fused with Flying-Type aura, was swiping at the face of Tangrowth, trying to hit.

This Solar Beam will hit, but the Power Whip he narrowly dodged as he was now faster than the Tangrowth.

Shade liked the madness exuding from her opponent. It made her feel less alone. Her eyes went from cold and calculating to a fierce fire with savagery and cruelty in her eyes while her face can even rival that of a scary Pokemon using Scary Face. When she talked, her voice sounded raspy and shrilly.

"True pain? Hun, a battle doesn't give true pain. If you want true pain, how about get bit by a Houndoom? How about losing a friend to two Pokemon you raised from babies to psychopathic killers all because you thought you could trust your friend? How about losing your Pokemon and being alone? Hehe, if you think this is true pain, then the shit I went through mUst HaVe BeEen HelL," she broke down in a fit of giggles, shrill laughter, and tears.

(Permission given to LegacyBladeworks to allow Solar Beam to hit on his next post and control if Bisharp gets knocked back or not).

There was no getting out of this one, both Trainer and Pokemon were intelligent enough to see that. Harmony took the liberty of lessening the impact herself. She managed to divert a few of the boulders away with her Psychic, releasing the rest. She was hit by multiple of them, falling to the ground.
Talia looked at the flying-type questioningly, concerned for her partner and first Pokemon. When the smoke from the impact cleared, it was revealed that Harmony was barely holding on.
Harmony grinned weakly, giving a nod of respect to her Flying-type opponent. She stood, ready to make her last stand.
"Ready, Harmony! Final Storm of Radiance!"
Summoning all the power she had left, Harmony raised her wings. Through the entire arena, Reflect barriers suddenly emerged from the ground. From anyone's perspective, they appeared to be randomly placed, and only Talia and Harmony knew that each and every one was placed specifically. They seemed to be centered around the Braviary, but other than that were seemingly scattered about. Several were behind Harmony as well.
"Now!"
With blinding speed, Harmony turned around and rapidly fired off several moves, each directed at one of the Reflect barriers behind her. On closer inspection, the moves were Flamethrower, Signal Beam, Shock Wave, Fairy Wind, and Aura Sphere.
The various attacks reflected in different directions when they hit the barriers, shattering each one on impact in a burst of blue. They reflected off each barrier in the arena, creating more blue sparkles - and finally, centering on their target, the Braviary. The attacks rocketed towards the avian, coming from all directions out of bursts of blue glitter. If they did collide with either their target or one another, they would create a multicolored blast in the shape of a five-petaled flower.
Unable to take any more once the moves were fired, Harmony collapsed as the final move was released. She smiled, closing her eyes as she witnessed the extravagance of her final attack. Her eyes turned to swirls as she was knocked out.

Final Storm of Radiance? The Marine Knight didn't like the sound of that.
"Courage, get out of there! Fly!" The Marine Knight barked as Reflect Barriers began to form all around. Nodding at his trainer, the hawklike Pokemon quickly shot straight up as the Togekiss began to shoot off all her attacks. The spectacle was quite amazing, so bright and showy that the Marine Knight lost sight of his Braviary. At each shatter of blue sparkles, the audience let out an gasp of admiration. It truly was a beautiful move, and the Marine Knight couldn't help but to smile under his mask. Now, this is the type of style he had been expecting from a trainer like Talia!

Courage flew up as fast as he could, with various attacks just barely whizzing past him. The two afterimages created by Double Team, way back at the start of the match, disappeared as each took a part of the attack. Moments after Courage flew upwards, various attacks struck each other where the Braviary had been less than a second before. The audience oohed and aahed at the sight of the firework-like attack. The explosions buffeted Courage as he flew upwards, but the Braviary managed to dodge most of the damage of the attack. Feeling it was at a safe distance, it watched below as various flower-shaped explosions went off and took a moment to regain his breath.

Distracted by the flowery explosions, Courage was completely blindsided by the Aura Sphere that struck it right in the gut. Letting out a surprised squawk, Courage began to plummet towards the ground. It only managed to catch itself at the last second, flapping it's wings and landing. It was breathing quite heavily, looking very worn. Still, the flame of battle burned in it's eyes. As the Final Storm of Radiance began to fade, the audience burst into cheers and applause at the beauty of such a powerful attack.
"Courage, take a break. Use Roost!" The Marine Knight commanded. The Braviary sat down, and large feathers appeared on the ground creating a nestlike structure around the bird Pokemon. It's breathing began to get closer to normal as Courage began to re-energize.
"I'll have to admit, that was a spectacular move! If Courage had been any slower, he would have been defeated for sure." The Marine Knight called out to Talia.

(Using permission given from Merciless Medic to have Solar Beam hit and knock back the Bisharp. They can determine whether that leaves Bisharp open for Tangrowth to catch it with Power Whip, or evade at their discretion)

Even as his opponent began to snap and enter the same madness with him, Jaden’s savage and sadistic grin didn’t falter. In a way, it felt good. Shade shrill and raspy voice, as well as the laughter, giggles, and tears, only fueled his own twisted mindset. Pushing him further and further into his dark descent.

You think you’ve experienced hell? Wrong, I’m gonna show you hell. You’re gonna meet your worst nightmare...

Power Whip didn’t do any good for catching the now speedier Bisharp, which managed to connect with both its hits. Tangrowth’s defense was solid, but after taking the hits it had so far, the Pokemon was looking pretty worse for wear. Managing to push through though, the Solar Beam was able to land its mark. Even with a grass resistance, a strong attack like that was enough to knock it back, which was what Jaden was waiting for.

“NOW! CATCH IT THIS TIME, AND HIT IT WITH ANOTHER FOCUS BLAST!”

Grunting from exhaustion, Tangrowth powered on to enact on Jaden’s orders. It once again used Power Whip to try and catch the knocked back Bisharp. Needing less time to charge Focus Blast, they concentrated completely on trapping the nimble Pokemon. Once they were captured by the vines, a second and more close up Focus Blast, would hopefully put an end to the round.

Laughing while the Power Whip occurred, the Trainer’s eyes finally locked with his opponent’s. Shade had said a battle wasn’t true pain, but he intended to show her how he planned to make this the worst pain she’d ever experienced.

Then let’s see if she still thinks she can play at being friends…

“So you don’t think a battle can produce true pain?...Then maybe that next attack will have to do more than just knock out your Bisharp…”

Jaden had finally snapped and let everything bubble out. All his anger, pain, sadness, and rage, was overtaking him. He felt little control over himself, as it all poured out, wanting to consume his opponent, and everything around him. Laughing full on maniacally, his savagery was only just beginning.

“BY THE END OF THIS, I’LL LEAVE EVERY LAST ONE OF YOUR POKEMON WISHING FOR DEATH! WISHING THEY’D CHOSEN ANOTHER TRAINER! AND!...”

His face somehow managed to contort from an even more sadistic smile. He wasn’t playing around, and this was no longer a battle, but a full on war.

“I’ll break the last bit of hope you have left. You’ve spent your life, aiming to become a Pokemon Researcher...let’s see what happens when that dream’s ripped right out from under you!”

Whether it served to make her afraid, left her unfazed, or riled Shade up more, Jaden didn’t care. He didn’t care about the tournament, his promises, the only thing he cared about in this moment now, was to make her experience suffering, and the feeling of the only thing keeping you going destroyed. What he wanted was for Shade to feel empty, hollow, and alone.

Talia flashed a genuine smile back, before returning her attention to her fallen partner. Concern was written in every line of her face.
The Fairy-type blinked, looking up at her trainer. "Togetoge?"
"Yeah, Harmony. You did good," Talia said softly. She held the Pokeball out, returning her partner. "Rest well."
She stood back up, returning to her spot on the field. Closing her eyes, she pulled another sphere from her belt. "Cadence, go!"
The female Meowstic emerged from the Pokeball, eyes aglow. The psychic Pokemon gently levitated above the ground for a moment, before settling.
Talia had observed the Braviary enough, and she knew what was happening. The Life Orb had obviously been working its magic. Talia decided to put an end to that.
"Cadence, you know what to do! Wonder Room!"
Cadence's eyes glowed brightly, as a pale glow suddenly enveloped the arena. The item kept in Cadence's fur shivered for a moment before going dull, signifying that it was now useless for the duration of Wonder Room. Characteristic of Talia's Pokemon, the move had a much more elegant touch than normal - showering the arena in harmless orbs of psychic energy.
"Now! Shocking Psybolt!
Cadence raised her arms, as glowing orbs of psychic energy formed above her. Glimmers of yellow electricity flickered at her paws as well, imbuing the Psyshock with the power of Thunderbolt. She hurled them at her opponent, diverting them so that they came from all directions. The shower of aesthetic orbs from the Wonder Room fell onto the orbs, creating elegant swirls around the impact zones.

"Courage, Brave Bird!" The Marine Knight commanded. But the Meowstic was just too fast. The Braviary jumped out of it's nest, but as the white energy of Brave Bird and the purple energy of the Life Orb began to surround Courage, the Shocking Psybolt struck it. The strange electric and psychic energy slam the Braviary, knocking it right out of the air. It ended up sliding on the ground, ending right in front of the Marine Knight. It was out of the fight. The Marine Knight knelt down, gently patting the neck of his Braviary before recalling it to it's Pokeball. Even though his friend was knocked out, Shiori was excited. This was the battling style he had been hoping for when facing a person like Talia!

But now there was the decision of who to send out next. After a moment's consideration, he unclipped a Pokeball from his belt and sent it out. Might as well take advantage of this Wonder Room!
"Looper, show them your ability!" The Marine Knight called out in a coarse voice. In a burst of red light, a Quagsire appeared in the arena. It had this blank smile on it's face, and it's eyes seemed to stare past both Cadence and Talia to some undetermined point in the distance. Then slowly... ever so slowly... it began to lean forward. After about a second of leaning forward, it reached a point of no return and fell flat on it's face. The whole time, it's expression never changing. The Quagsire didn't even attempt to catch itself! It simply fell to the ground with a dull thump, and now wasn't even looking at the Meowstic or it's trainer. A Haze began to emit from the Quagsire, and it was quickly covered in a dark black mist that obscured it from view. The Haze cloud grew larger with every passing moment. The Marine Knight watched Talia and her Pokemon carefully, waiting to see how they would react to Looper.

“Shoot them down!” Acacia shouted. Omi prepared another water pulse in each cannon, shattering the first ball mid air. Unfortunately, the second was too close by the time the Blastoise shot it, and the spray from the water knocked the large turtle back a few steps. “Let’s finish this off, aura sphere!” Both of Omi’s cannons began channeling energy into a single light blue glowing orb that was then launched at Nero.

“Aqua Drill!” Hyoga knew that Nero couldn’t avoid the Aura sphere so their only option was to face it head on. Nero’s beak begun to glow as the emperor Pokémon started spinning and spiraling water jets encased him. With a determined cry Nero launched off from the ground toward the cobalt orb and prepped himself for the impact.
The two azure blurs met in mid-air with a deafening crash, the sound of extreme resistance gradually increasing as Nero struggled to maintain control of his angular momentum. With a final defiant cry Nero was sent spinning out from the Collision and launched into the wall of the battlefield leaving a sizable indent in the wall.
“Nero is unable to battle, Acacia is the winner” cried the referee raising a crimson red flag toward Hyoga to signify his defeat
“And with that folks the winner of this battle and the trainer who will be advancing to the next round of competition is... Acacia!” The commentators announced as crowd erupted with thunderous cheers and applause

“Nero it seems our empire has crumbled, you did well, return. That was one of the best battles I’ve had in a long time, thank you my dear Acacia! I do hope the rest of this competition continues favorably for you.” With the completion of his final monologue Hyoga spun on his heels and exited the stadium, his glowing icy robs flowing dramatically behind him in the gentle breeze.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Ajax was less than impressed when he was informed that his first round battle had been postponed, something to do with a scheduling error had meant that a low bracket match up had taken place in the main stadium, and Ajax was not going to further lessen himself by accepting qn out-skirting stadium or worse an broadcasted battlefield.
“Our deepest apologies Mr Xavier, we were only alerted of the error once the other match had started, there’s nothing we can do at this stage, please do know that this was an honest mistake for the automated system to tell you that you had been moved to the out-fields we meant no disrespect” quivered one of the league’s organizers who had the unenviable task of dealing with a pissed off Ajax. The Ruin Master had been mocked and humiliated by league officials before who saw his success with the Battle Ruins as nothing more than pure luck and the guiding hand of Pyramid King Brandon.
As such Ajax was immediately pushed to aggression when his phone had received the automated notification that not only had his battle been delayed, his former opponent withdrawn from the tournament but to top it all off he’d been placed on the smallest battle field on the island, normally reserved for the junior league.
“Shut up, stop wasting my time speaking and just get this mess fixed” he snapped as he slammed his closed fist down on the table between the two men. “This tournament is supposed to be the best in the world? So far it’s been an absolute shi-... fiasco!” Catching himself before crossing the line, with that final moment of restraint Ajax stormed out of the office and made a B line for one of the larger stadiums to watch Acacia and Hyoga’s battle.
——Later——
After what turned out to be an extremely exhilarating battle to watch Ajax wandered his way back to the central stadium and took his place ready for the battle to come
‘This guy better be ready for my full fury, there’s no way I’ll be able to hold back. This days been too stressful’ he thought to himself as he readied a Pokémon painted with intricate patterns of Thorns and Blood red Roses
Shade just shook her head again at his mad retort. Honestly, she had a better grasp at the meaning of the words coming out of her own mouth than he did. He must have lost a part of him training out alone on that mountain for who knows how long, along with helping those who couldn't. Such a burden like that was enough to make someone snap. When she replied, her voice became a low and deep growl.
"Then you become the very thing that stopped your friends from achieving their dreams. You have become their death. Crushing my dreams? You put too much merit on a battle. Kiriki... No mercy!"
She yelled at Kiriki, who looked back at Shade after landing upright from the blast he took from the Solar Beam. Now that he were to show no mercy, none of his other comrades were going to show mercy, either.
Kiriki understood the command Jaden was giving to his Tangrowth and knew what to do to avoid it. He sped towards the Tangrowth, narrowly dodging the Power Whip and he ducked underneath the Focus Blast. Kiriki's head blade and arm blades began glowing white and were elongated. He was aiming to slice the Tangrowth in half: Guillotine.
“Just how I like it” he replied to Shade’s order for her Pokemon to show no mercy, the craziness in his eyes and face showing no signs of stopping. Power Whip and Focus Blast both failed to hit their marks, and with the attack Bisharp was going for, Jaden knew Tangrowth wasn’t going to be able to withstand it.
I’ll just have to play the numbers game this time, but her Bisharp won’t be a free hit…
“Let’s leave Kiriki with a sting!”
Nodding as it prepared to take the hit, Tangrowth closed its eyes, and poured forth a yellow powder from the inside of its massive body. If they were going down here and now, then leaving a Stun Spore fog to paralyze the opponent was the best they could do. Even with the arm blades elongated, her Pokemon would be getting a taste of the paralyzing spores.
Tangrowth let out a wailing cry as the attack hit. The power from that move could have dropped even a fully healed Pokemon in one strike. With it being so exhausted already, the creature toppled over quickly. Returning them back to their Pokeball, as he looked at it, there was a momentary break in the crazy. Jaden had still lost most of himself, but the one thing that kept a sliver of balance on the tightrope of insanity he was walking, were his Pokemon. Despite the frustration, pain, anger, loneliness, and all assortments of other negative emotions, he still cared for his team. As his thoughts returned to the battle and his opponent though, the wickedness reformed instantly.
“Glad to hear you’re not showing any mercy. Maybe I can finally go all out...So, let’s see the rest of your power and skill. Go! Mismagius!”
Appearing in a similar fashion to his other Pokemon, Mismagius popped out of their Pokeball, snickering a bit while flickering in and out between being tangible and intangible. She was clearly a bit of a trickster, and wasn’t planning on giving Shade an easy time of things.
“How bout we finish things off with Shadow Sneak”
Once again flickering out of tangibility, Mismagius disappeared quickly, as a shadowy energy manifested into the ground. Darting back and forth, many would think it was aiming to confuse Kiriki who were watching. With the Stun Spore in effect though, the darting about it did was really just its way of taunting the Pokemon, since it was on the verge of being knocked out. After having its fun, the ghost sneak attacked up from the ground, aiming to make Shade move on to Pokemon number three.
(Permission was given for Bisharp to be hit by Stun Spore from @Merciless Medic as Tangrowth gets taken out by Guillotine)
A Quagsire... that was an interesting pick. However, Talia had learned her lesson the hard way that no Pokemon was to be underestimated - she'd suffered a rather embarrassing defeat a couple years ago that way.
Cadence was not fazed either. She'd learned her lesson when she'd laughed at a Ditto and promptly gotten curb-stomped as an Espurr.
"Don't be fooled, Cadence! Nature Vortex!"
Cadence's eyes glowed as she began to use Psychic. However, multiple spheres of green energy formed in front of her as well, moving to surround the Quagsire. They spiraled around, moving above the Water and Ground type - definitely not low enough to hit. They began spinning faster and faster, moving closer to one another. Eventually, they collided - and due to the nature of the attack and the rate at which they'd been spinning, they formed a vortex of Grass-type energy around the Water-type. It sucked up the Haze, making it difficult to see out of the vortex.
Before either Shiori or Looper could react, Talia mouthed Now to the cat-like Pokemon.
Cadence ran to a random spot outside of the vortex - completely invisible from the inside, thanks to the Haze that had been absorbed - and launched forward with Zen Headbutt, aiming directly at the center of the vortex - and Looper.
~~~Adelyn vs Ajax~~~
A teenage girl walked confidently into the arena, her flaming red hair blowing playfully in the gentle breeze. Her eyes were closed, and a Pokeball was already in her hand.
Almost instinctively, she faced her opponent, unnervingly silent.
Suddenly, her eyes flashed open - revealing two amber irises, glimmering in the light. Without hesitation, she tossed her first Pokeball forward.
It revealed a Staraptor, seemingly larger than average. Its wingspan was impressive, giving the Pokemon a majestic appearance.
The girl waited, staring at her opponent, ready for anything that was thrown at her. She was unnervingly quiet and calm, her eyes sparkling.

@Captain Cardboard
@Frontier Master

Ajax smiled at the appearance of the Staraptor, losing himself briefly in the once fond memories of his time with the KPD, his aerial skills test with Hot-shot and Eleanor on her own Staraptor- Silverbolt, right before the unfortunate incident in Lumiose city... of course that was all years past now, the scars had healed physically despite the fact the emotional ones never would.
He shook himself free from the memories and did his best to regain his focus lifting a dive ball from the stand beside him
“Genji! You’re up!” He yelled as his shiny greninja appeared on the field taking a readied combat stance “double work up then icy wind!” Without hesitation the greninja split in two the four then eight all of which letting out a hearty cry as the worked themselves up for battle. Once the final cry had silenced the ninja Pokémon all let loose a torrent of frigid winds toward the predator pokemon.

Shade just laughed. A sickening cry of perverted and sadistic enjoyment. Seeing his Tangrowth sliced felt amazing, something she hadn't felt in ages because she cared too much about other people's Pokemon as she's fighting them. Now that they both sworn to show no mercy in this fight, it was time to go all out. She did see that her Kiriki got a face full of Stun Spore as he hit the Tangrowth. Although, she knew Kiriki wasn't going to keep standing for long. He landed behind the Tangrowth and took a knee. He was exhausted. He was done.

The spores had locked his limbs for a moment as the next Pokemon was sent out. A Mismagius. Shade had one and knew them all too well. She knew Kiriki wouldn't be able to do much, especially with the chance of the paralysis locking his limbs up. She just stood there, smiling, forming a plan of attack in her head.

As the Mismagius flew about the field in a taunting fashion, Shade had already prepped her next Pokemon in her hand. As Kiriki was about to get up to defend himself, his body locked up again and he was hit with the Shadow Sneak, knocking him back a tiny bit. As soon as he hit the ground, Shade returned him and sent out her next Pokemon.

In a flash of light, a Pokemon could be seen standing on one leg before the light dispersed itself. A rugged Medicham stood there, calm and at the ready, as she tightened her Black Belt around her waist. Immediately seeing the Ghost-Type and recognizing it based on her experience with the species, she immediately used Foresight. Her eyes glowed blue as she quickly attempted to allow herself to fight through the evasion of the creature and hit with her future Normal- and Fighting-Type attacks.

The Meowstic punched through the shadowy nature vortex, but where the Quagsire once was there remained only air. Instead, a Quagsire sized hole was all that remained. Right when Looper had been obscured by the Haze and out of the view of Talia and her Meowstic, he had used Dig. After all, it was a much easier for Looper to dodge an attack if he was underground. Right as the Haze began to disperse from the Nature Vortex, the Meowstic's Zen Headbutt attack was carrying it over the hole where Looper once was. With a speed very unusual of that of a Quagsire, Looper burst from the hole. He was surrounded by the earth energy of the Dig attack, attempting to slam the Meowstic as it flew over with it's Zen Headbutt. Even though it had the same dopey look on it's face as before, a sinister gleam could be seen in it's eyes.

Reacting quickly, Cadence cancelled the Zen Headbutt and went into an Iron Tail instead. She flipped and held the Iron Tail behind her, bouncing off the Quagsire and wincing slightly as she passed through the remnants of her own attack. The grassy vortex had left at this point.
"Cadence, Shadow Shock!"
Cadence summoned several orbs of dark energy, firing them at the Quagsire, but directing them to crash into each other at the last second. This created a shadowy cloud, making it nearly impossible for Looper to see. She then proceeded to use Psychic, intending to spin Looper around and upside down, in hopes of disorienting it to the ground's location. Finally, she summoned Psyshock orbs, surrounding the Water-type with them, and fired them off.

The Marine Knight shielded himself as the dark energy clashed in front of him, surrounding Looper. As Cadence began to use Psychic in an attempt to disorient the Marine Knight, Shiori realized that the true attack hadn't happened yet.
"Looper, Protect!" The Marine Knight called out to his Quagsire. Inside the dark cloud, Looper was perfectly relaxed. It did not try to resist as the Meowstic used Psychic to try to spin it around, simply going with the flow and staying chill. But when the Marine Knight's command pierced the shadow, Looper went into action. The Quagsire curled up and crossed it's arms over it's chest. Chunks of earth shot up from the ground, forming a protective circle around Looper. The Psyshock orbs smashed into the chunks of earth, dispersing harmlessly.

"Your techniques are tough!" The Marine Knight called out to Talia. "But they take far too long for your Pokemon to pull off. I can see them coming a mile away!"
Meanwhile, inside the darkness, Looper took advantage of the fog and once again used Dig to burrow into the ground.
