Sorry guys, but I think I might leave this RP. I'm in more RPs than I think and I barely have any plans for Tony.

Yes I did, Playful. It works well on low level things, but it isn't guaranteed, especially stronger things.

I have tried using Quick Balls. They never usually work for me. Out of the 10 I threw, I was only able to catch a single Pokemon with one, despite the 5x catch rate.
It only works on the first turn...
I did that. First turn, and then I'd run because I wanted to see if it would work or I'd do another method in catching it. 9 failed while I was able to catch one. I was in Y and I was trying to catch Pokemon quickly on the route north of the Berry Fields (forgot what it was called)
I fixed my post, making them have less moves. Although, that was literally it and I also made the fight a little more organic. I will stop posting for awhile and let everybody catch up. XD Once everyone is on the same day (I believe its Day 3 or 4 after my post), I'll make another post.

It’s offensively good against Ground, but resists at the same time because of Bug. It’s attacks do 4x damage to most Pokémon in the Pewter Gym, but it’s a double edged sword because Bug is weak to Rock. I congratulate you.

Cool! In that case Friedrich might recognize her from a contest he seen or participated in. I doubt he'd confront her about it considering his personality ,but not outside the realm of possibility.
I assume the contests are on TV, so maybe he watched the one in Viridian, where she competed. He might point her out to Akira, or maybe she overhears them talking about contests or even about her.
Hes from Cinnabar Island so its possible he could have either seen it in person or possibly even joined one or two.

Friedrich might have been reviewing his research notes or something of that nature that day. As much as I like Kalos I'm not sure how much news would come all the way from Kalos to Kanto. He might be able to detect Akira's Kalos accent though.

No he actually got into the city too late to join. He was set up to perform, but did not get the chance to.

Do trainers need to sign up to challenge the gyms?
I don't think they did in the anime. Though to be fair they would have to do it in order. Considering Brock doesn't have a clone family members. like nurse joy or officer jenny. He does have a giant family ,but they don't look exactly like him down to the t.
They did in the anime. You had to sign up for the league in a Pokemon center.
At least in later seasons.

No, in season one they had to sign up. However, they have seemed to remove that in the newer seasons.
