Well, it could be like in the anime, five minutes for a battle and we can cut the unimportant ones. Like "Ellie battled hard with the Pokemon she had chosen for the battle. Sure, the battles were only five minutes, but they were difficult. At least she was in the quarter finals now.' Then explain that battle.

A day is still not a lot of time for people to get a routine ready. Especially if this is a surprise for the coordinator. This will give the pokemon time to get used to comands that the trainer gives. If they have to warm up to the person, then it will take longer.
Yeah, the earlier the person signs up, the more difficult the Pokemon is to handle.
I assumed the pokémon given out was to show off the coordinators skills. By showing off the characters can improvise off the fly with borrowed pokémon showed their experience as a coordinator.
This would be the first contest that some people compete in the Kanto region. The way this one is set up will be different then others. This first contest is going to be given beforehand. The contest that does this again, will be a bit different as they will be given out shortly before the contest would start.
Also I have decided that Akira would have a Popplio, as I feel it would match his personality the best. I can see them becoming fast friends.

Carvanha would be the perfect choice for Friedrich. Not only would he be forced to work with a water pokémon ,but its a piranha which would no doubt terrify him even further.
So if I understand correctly, the longer before the contest that you sign up, the more time you have to work things out, but the more difficult the Pokémon will be to deal with...?

Physical Appearance: Natasha is a tall girl, as she stands almost 6 feet tall. Her build is small, but toned as she is an active runner. Natasha has long blonde hair that reaches her lower back. It is straight with layers. Her roots are a bit darker then the rest of her hair. Her eyes are a dark brown, that goes well with her pale skin. Natasha tends to wear a dark red lip, with a colorful eye look.
Clothing: Natasha tends to wear comfortable, but sporty clothes, as she loves to run. She can be seen in a pair of athletic leggings tanks tops when out for a run. Though when she is not running, she will be seen in skinny jeans, loose t-shirts, a red flannel tied around her waist, sneakers, and a baseball cap worn backwards. Around her neck she tends to wear a choker.

I was almost thinking you were going to have Jax be a pink Butterfree. Which I'm meaning to ask, can Ellie's Caterpie be a pink Butterfree, or is that your plan still?
No it will be pure white with pink eyes. That will be the color of Jax. Yes her caterpie can be the pink one. I do not mind.
I like the idea of alternative color Butterfree. However, I don’t see why Tiger would need an Everstone collar since he would need a Fire Stone to evolve, anyways.
This is incase of him coming into contact with one, as he is always out with Natasha anyways. He is always out of his pokeball, and tends to collect things at times to bring to Natasha.
Speaking of picking up things and bringing it to thier trainer. Is it fine that Henery sometimes picks up rare stones (only in caves).
Yeah that is what I was going to do with Tiger as well.
I was thinking that it was just Henry using Pickup, his ability. (Also almost used up potions, lost Pokeballs from other trainers, and random barries around.)
Oh it will not be that frequent as that ability, but with Tiger he will mainly just find things on his own as he is quite hyper and likes to explore places.
Well, Pickup is Henry's cannon ability and I was thinking it mostly be the almost used up potion thing and lost Pokeballs.
You should have some random things too. Maybe he comes back with a random rubber duck sometime, or even with a small Pokemon.
That sounds like fun as well. Alex giving her Lillipup a look like 'why in the wide, wide world did you bring me this random and useless iten?'
@ThePlayfulFox, I understand this mainly just Tiger doing something for his owner. I am taking a page out of wolves were they will bring the alpha a gift every once in a while.

Every gym battle will be done in one long post. This way we are not cloging up the RP with a back and forth battle too often.
I am not sure at the moment. I do know that there will be night times, but I do not know how to write them in for everyone at this time. I do know that I maybe want Akira to stay the night in Viridian forest, as I have an encounter planned for it.
I think that once we're good with it, it will start to get dark out. People can go to bed as they see fit. If you're making a post where you stay up, maybe do it like a gym battle and write the whole thing in one go, if that's possible.
That will be fine as Akira is in Veridian city at the moment. I will try to get my post up soon. I just am relaxing before I have to be at work at 3 o'clock.

Yes unless you have objections to it. I was thinking that since it was getting dark that they may have gotten lost when trying to find their way out of the forest.
