Yuna
Yuna nodded shortly in response to the other nin’s strategy, as well as to his suggestion not to take each other’s scrolls. She relaxed another fraction of a centimeter as she took the centipede flesh she had torn and brought it into the leaves of the fallen tree. They scratched and poked at her exposed skin, but it wasn’t long before she reached a decent sized clearing in the branches. The girl produced a small bird of ice that circled above it, so Tensei could find it even if he had a different point of entry.
Yuna’s knowledge of water-style jutsu was pretty basic, and mostly focused on sustainability. She had a whopping collection of two water-style jutsu that didn’t involve ice or wind, which may have been unusual for a Kiri-nin; then again, it wasn’t exactly usual for an ice-style user to appear out of nowhere and have to train themselves in their Kekkei Genkai. It didn’t matter now, though; it was too late to turn back. The girl inhaled, then exhaled, forming a string of hand signs. “Water Style; Search,” she muttered. This was a basic technique usually used as a support for a water-style user in a place with little or limited water, allowing the user to draw forth small amounts of water at a time, from sources such as plants and water vapor. She used the water she had procured from the air to rinse the centipede meat and her hands of the creature’s rancid-smelling blood, and proceeding with the basics of setting up camp.
Hideki
The clouds Keba was trailing behind him changed direction, and Hideki with them. He was quite proud of the fact that he hadn’t faceplanted in nearly ten minutes, and thought he was quite getting the hang of this forest. Suddenly, an explosion caught his attention. Did someone set off a string of paper bombs? Or was that a jutsu? Nah, must’ve been paper bombs, no village in their right minds would teach a genin a technique that powerful... or would they? When he snapped out of his thoughts and looked up, he realized he had lost the string of clouds. Ahhh...... shit. Well, actually, knowing Keba and his flighty personality, he’ll probably head there to be the knight in shining armor for whoever’s ass got beat in the explosion... The boy doubled his speed, heading towards the site of the explosion. He got hit in the face by twice as many branches, but it was worth it if he could catch up with Keba there.
When the trees around him started looking charred, Hideki slowed, setting his feet down lightly to avoid alerting anyone to his position. As he approached the clearing, the smell of soot and smoke touched his nose, and he smothered a cough. He peered around the trunk of the tree he was hiding behind, taking in the scene in the clearing. Two... no, three. One’s injured. No sign of the one who set off the paper bomb... could they have escaped without the others noticing? Maybe, but— wait. Hideki’s gaze shifted from the three genin to a pair of swords stuck in the ground. There were a fair amount of ninja tools scattered across the ground, but these looked... oddly familiar... Those are... those are Momo’s swords! Ah, crap, Keba’s gonna flip if she’s hurt bad... where is she? Gotta be hiding around here somewhere, she can’t have gotten far...
Can I let her know I’m around without giving away my position? Dammit, I’d have to put all three under genjutsu, but they’re facing away. They won’t get the full effects of my flash if they don’t turn around, and there’s no guarantee they will. I could use a clone to jump out and say something...? Yeah, that’ll work. He wove the hand signs for the basic Clone Jutsu, and a double made of chakra emerged from him, heading around to the other side of the clearing under cover of trees. When it was at about a 75 degree angle to the real Hideki, it scaled a tree and crawled out to a protruding branch. While they’re distracted, it’ll give her a chance to get away. “Hi,” the clone said in a comically relaxed position. “Welcome to Chili’s! May I take your order?”
