Rose charged forward and pulled back her bow. She shot the arrow right between a charging boar's eyes as it fell to the ground dead.

One down. This is just like the grinding earlier. Nothing to worry about...

Rose loaded a couple more arrows and fired them killing a pair of boars. This had brought her total to three.

A quick slam from his staff killed one boar, and ramming it behind him killed another. A swift kick to the face killed a third. "Okay, thr-" Dapper_Cat cut himself off as he sent his staff down on a fourth one. All four shattered. "Scratch that, make that four down for me." Dapper_Cat reported, smirking.

A boar came charging at Koop who retaliated by slashing upward and sending the boar airborne before thrusting it in the chest and killing it. Another Boar attacked him from behind which he managed to barely dodge and hit with a spin slash to its side killing it. "That 10 down in total." He called out.

Lexi laughed and accepted the water. "Damn straight, especially if we plan on beating this death trap. Fighting monsters is gonna exhaust us," she said. "I'll look around and see if there's an inn with any rooms open." And with that, Lexi got up and headed out to do sone searching.

After the last boar dissipated, a quest clear screen appeared showing the quest rewards. Koop received the experience reward. "Sweet, I'm around one tenth of the way to reaching level 9." He looked towards Rose and Dapper_Cat. "How are you guys doing?" He asked.

"9 and 10!"

Rose shot two more arrows which killed another pair of charging boars. Once they were dead recieved the sam experience reward and moved up to level 6!

"Alright, I did it!" Rose said to Koop with a smile.

"Message me when you find one!" Casys called after Lexi. He opened up his menu to see if he could contact a GM. "Huh," Casys said quietly. "None of them are online at the moment." That's wierd. It's launch day so you would think at least one of them was online.

Koop opened his menu to look the other quest Dapper_Cat has shared with him and Rose. "Lets do the one where we have to kill 3 frogs down at the lake." He said. Koop Then walked to the lake. He looked aver that lake and saw the frogs. He jumped at them and killed 3 with one slash each. "Well that was easy." he said to himself as he receives his quest rewards.

As Dapper_Cat cleared the Quest for killing the boars, he jumped up to Level Six. "Level Six, now." He reported, before Koop suggested they do the Frog quest. He nodded and followed his party member all the way to the lake, where Dapper_Cat quickly killed three frogs and accepted the Quest Reward, which was minor. Every bit of experience helped, though.

Rose timed her shot so that she could nail three frogs with one arrow. Rose was proud of her growing skill as she accepted the small reward.

"Good work everyone." Rose complimented as she wondered what they would do next.

Koop leaned his spear over his shoulder and opened his menu. "The only other quest beside the one with Killing the mini boss the Dire Wolf is killing 2 normal wolves." He said. "Wolves are a higher level enemy that the boars and frogs we just faced. Are you guys ready?" He said.

"I already killed the Dire Wolf solo, so yeah, I'm plenty good when it comes to facing wolves." Michael - er... Dapper_Cat - replied, twirling his staff lazily in his hand. "Once we're done with the wolves and the Dire Wolf we can head out to the next town. From there, I'm sure people will have banded together in a large group to clear the dungeon. We can rendezvous with them to hear their plan. Any objections, or other ideas? Anything else?"

"Sounds like a plan. Go kill wolves, go to the next down and gather up numbers to clear a dungeon." Rose said with a smile, trying to put any concern or worry aside for the moment. She had to focus.

Rose did a double check of her supplies, putting an arrow in her bow at the ready, as she gave Koop a nod.

"I'm ready." Rose said with confidence.

Dapper_Cat gave another twirl of his staff, and continued to twirl it between his fingers as he responded. "Ready as I'll ever be." He reported. Dapper_Cat would be lying if he said he wasn't happy that he went back in town and ran into Koop and Rose. "Alright, let's head out then. And, if you guys need it, we can rest once we get to the next town."

Koop looked at Dapper_Cat. "Right, lets go." He said as he started walking further into the plains and arrived at the Wolf domain. "Here we are." He said as he got his spear ready.

Rose took a deep breath as she had her bow at the ready while she starred down the entrance of the cave.

No matter what, I will survive. I won't let myself die in this damn game!

"Honestly, you should be able to solo the Dire Wolf." Dapper_Cat stated as he stopped next to his two party members. "And with the three of us? The Dire Wolf'll be a breeze." He said reassuringly. It was obvious he was certain of their victory. "We won't need to worry until we get to the boss's dungeon, but we won't be alone when that rolls around."

Lexi hummed a tune to herself as she walked. Many inns had already been filled up, but she finally found one that had three rooms. After pulling up her menu, Lexi messaged Casys: Found somewhere. It's called The Seven Does. Ironic, since deer are pretty rare on this floor. Anyways, it's just a couple blocks to the right of the Teleport Markers.

( @Jagson )
Casys read Lexi's message aloud to Jag. "Found somewhere. Its called the Seven Does. Blah blah blah. A couple blocks to the right of the teleport markers." Casys closed his menu and got up from his seat, telling Jag that he'd meet him at the inn. Casys then left Restaurant, setting off for The Seven Does.

About ten minutes later Casys arrived at the inn. He sent Lexi a message asking what room to go to, then went to the front desk. "Hello!" The NPC woman said, "Welcome to the Seven Does! Please enjoy this complementary item!" A Small Healing Crystal appeared before Casys. "Cool," Casys said, putting it into his inventory. He also noticed that this NPC gave out quests as well.

Lexi got Casys's message. Fortunately, she had managed to snag herself some non-slutty PJs, which was just a flannel tee-shirt and shorts, and change into them before her friend got to the inn. 247, she messaged him.

(@Jagson)

Jag got the message and nodded. He changed from his worn out battle attire to a decent tunic and pants he found. He walked towards the area and saw Casys. "Hey." He said. " Sorry I figured it would be a good idea to do some grinding." He said as he looked at the man. " So what's this all about."

Casys closed Lexi's message just as Jag walked up to him. "Lexi managed to get a room in this inn. Room 247." Casys walked up the stairs and knocked on the door of the room. "Lexi?" Casys called. "It's me, Casys. Jag is here, too!"

Lexi opened the door. "Hey, guys!" she greeted them, gesturing for them to come in. "We were lucky, I got the last room with three beds."

"Awesome!" Casys said, walking in. The room was simple, just three beds and a lamp. A closet was at the far end. Class walked over to it and went inside, awkwardly changing into a sleeping tunic and pants. He then left the closet and promptly collapsed on the barest bed, mumbling "Goodnight."

Lexi flopped down onto the bed nearest to the door. "I dunno about you guys, but I'm beat. 'Night," she said, falling asleep almost instantly.

Lexi was a small child again. She looked up at her parents, both of whom had sadness on their faces as plain as the tear tracks. "What's wrong, Mommy and Daddy?" the little girl queried. Her mother took a deep, shaky breath.
"We're going to Japan--" she began, only for Lexi to light up and cut her off.
"Are we visiting Katsuo? I really hope we are, he's my favorite cousin!" Lexi was so oblivious to the situation at the drop of a hat, as most seven-year-olds are found to be. Tears sprang into her mother's eyes, but the blissfully ignorant youth did not notice. Her father cleared his throat.
"Alexis," he said, "You might not be able to play with your cousin. He is very sick and will probably be sleeping for a long time." The phone rang, and Lexi's mother ran to answer it. Her eyes widened and she paled before falling to her knees and sobbing. Lexi ran over, beginning to cry as well. Worry clouded her mind.
"Mommy, what happened?" Her mother embraced Lexi, tears falling down her face and onto Lexi's pajamas.
"He's gone..." she choked out, "Katsuo's...dead..."
All at once, Lexi absolutely broke down. She would never be able to see her favorite cousin ever again...

Lexi sat bolt upright, tear tracks running sideways across her face due to her sleeping on her side. She checked the time. 12:30. Lexi sighed, knowing that she wouldn't be able to get back to sleep, and headed into the closet to change into her armor in case either of her friends woke up. She then quickly wrote a note telling Casys and Jag that she had gone hunting because she couldn't sleep, setting it on her bed before heading out.

Rose turned to Dapper_Cat with a nod as she got herself ready. He was right, the three of them could handle this wolf no problem. Being the archer of the trio, Rose would wait for Koop and Dapper_Cat to go first so she can watch their backs and offer support fire.

"Alright. Let's go kick some Dire Wolf ass." Dapper_Cat stated with a smile. He readied his quarter staff as he walked into the mission area. Not long after, he was greeted with the Dire Wolf materializing in front of him. It let out a roar and leaped at him. It was quickly greeted with a quarter staff to the cheek.

Koop ran into the field after Dapper_Cat and a wolf instantly lunged at him when he arrived. Koop blocked the wolf with his spear and slammed him to the side. Another wolf charged at him from behind and scratched his back. "Argh." Koop said as he stumbled a bit. The wolf charged at him again but Koop blocked him with his spear. The other wolf lunged at him from behind But Koop managed to back kick him back. Koop then pushed the wolf he was blocking back and turned around to face the more damaged wolf. "Spear Barrage!" He said as he unleashed a barrage of thrust at the wolf and killed it. "That one down." He thought as he turned to face the other wolf.

"Eat arrows you furballs!"

Rose had fired a pair of arrows at a couple of wolves, who dodged the bulk of the impact which caused only glancing damage as they tried to get close. Rose would load a couple more arrows and wait for the wolves to charge her.

Focus and wait. Wait for the right...

Rose jumped in the air, over the charging wolves, and aimed her arrows while she hung in the air.

...moment!

One arrow nailed a wolf on the back of the neck, killing it while the other just managed to dodge it. Rose loaded another bow as the other wolf faced off with her.

Hiya there Casys!
Casys turned around to see a giant, cartoonish BBQ chicken wing with eyes. "Hiya there Mr. Wing! Mind if I get a bite?" Casys jumped towards the giant wing, only to be ripped out of sleep.

With a dull thud Casys hit the wooden floorboards of the room, groaning in pain. He sat up and stretched his arms, yawning and looking out the window to see that it was still night. Casys stood up and opened looked over at Lexi's bed to see a small, glowing envelope icon. He went over and tapped it, reading Lexi's note. "She's gonna end up getting herself killed," he whispered, dashing into the closet to change. Equipping his weapon, Casys ran out of the room and opened up his menu. Tapping the "PARTY" icon, Casys looked up her position and began to make his way towards it.

Lexi stabbed at a boar with her trident, dealing the killing blow. She gained some XP and meat, which meant internet bacon in the morning. Almost there, she thought. Lexi had overheard a couple of people talking about a quest in which they had to defeat a mini-boss called the Dire Wolf. This would give them a bunch of XP and a choice of a weapon or armor, as well as possibly a sword skill. It had several spawn points and only appeared when a player that had taken the quest neared this location. Lexi suddenly stopped walking. The wind tugged at her hair, threatening to pull the ribbon that held it up out of place. Lexi tightened it and took one more step forwards. Upon this action, the Dire Wolf shimmered into existence. Lexi gritted her teeth as the mini-boss showed its fangs. The creature lunged, but Lexi swung her weapon and knocked it down before it could sink its claws into her flesh. She went to jab at it, but it dodged sideways and charged, biting Lexi in the side. She cried out and began to attack it, eventually beating it off. Her health was drastically lowered, however, far below half. Lexi got up and charged, but her furry enemy attacked again, this time staying latched to its prey longer. Lexi screamed and tried to wrestle it off, but to no avail; she was already weakened by the previous bite. As her HP plunged, Lexi screamed once more, her eyes closed. ...Is this where it ends? Am I just going to die alone, insignificantly, because I was too weak?

Casys was just coming up on Lexi's location when he heard her scream the first time. Immediately his sword was out, and he broke into an all-out sprint. Don't die on me Lexi!

"Get off her!" Casys screamed, slamming activating his Horizontal sword skill. Casys slammed his blade into the Dire Wolf's snout, knocking it backwards as it howled in agony. Casys' eyes clouding over in rage, he rushed the Dire Wolf, activating Horizontal Arc. His first slash connected with the Dire Wolf's face, while the second missed after the Wolf ducked. It lunged upward and snapped at Casys, clamping it's jaws around his sword. Teeth clenched, Casys activated Horizontal and slashed, cutting through the Dire Wolf's mouth and going about halfway through it's body.

The Dire Wolf exploded into a shower of green shards. A "Congratulations!" banner popped up, and under it read Casys's rewards. He didn't care about those, however. Casys ran to Lexi's side, retrieving the healing crystal he'd gotten from the innkeeper from his inventory. "Here, use this!" He said, handing it to Lexi.

Lexi opened her eyes. Casys was by her side, offering her a healing Crystal. "Casys..." she said weakly, and nodded, taking the healing crystal. Once it had worked its literal magic, Lexi sat up. "...I almost died..." she murmured, then her eyes began to tear up. "I almost ended up like...like Katsuo." She barely breathed her deceased cousin's name, then threw her arms around Casys's shoulders in a grateful hug.

"Lexi I-" Casys began before being cut off by the girl putting her arms around him. What? What do I do? Is she crying? Casys awkwardly put his arms around Lexi, returning her hug. The rage in his eyes subsided, Casys whispered, "It's okay. You're okay, Lexi." He looked up at the stars, his mouth forming the words before he even knew what he was saying. "I won't let you die."

"Why are there extra wolves here?" Dapper_Cat grunted out as he smacked another wolf away. "When I came here there was only the Dire Wolf. That should still be the case." He grumbled. However, he didn't let it phase him too much. "Koop, Rose, try and at least get one hit in on the Dire Wolf, more experience that way!" He ordered. Dapper_Cat twirled his staff and knocked another wolf to the ground, watching as it exploded into shards.

Lexi flinched inwardly at Casys's words. Goddammit, why can't I be able to take care of myself? I couldn't even beat a MINI-boss, how the hell am I supposed to help take down the actual dungeon bosses? Lexi dragged her arm over her face, drying the old ones and willing new ones not to come. "I had a cousin," she said, spilling the story like water. "He died playing SAO when I was young. That's why I immediately messaged you and Jag when I got the alert; I wanted to make sure that I would at least have a chance to prevent the same from happening to you, too." Lexi shook her head. "I guess I was an idiot to buy this murder game, but...I did."

Okay, go and hit the Dire Wolf. Easy enough I just got to...

Rose's thoughts were interrupted when a wolf charged her, one she knocked back with her bow. She jumped back and fired an arrow on the downed wolf killing it but had to move quickly as another wolf tried to attack her from behind. Rose managed to avoid it with a timely dodge roll as she loaded another arrow.

Is there no end to these things!?
