Even frowned as he saw Lis trail off as he took note of the tears she had. Even had never been the best at comforting someone, but he felt he had to do something as he walked next to Lis and the other guy who was to blame for the incident.

"I'll escort you to the office. Hall Monitor and all. And don't worry, it wasn't your fault." Even said after what appeared to be a prolong silence as he walked with her and the other guy to the office.

As she walked, Lis buried her face in her hands, sighing with frustration. “Today’s been horrible,” she said to Even. “I ruined movie plans for everyone, Laura is avoiding me, and now.. now all of this is happening. I just want it to end,” she whimpered, letting her hands fall to her side as she looked ahead.

The kid who had been truly at fault glanced at Dylan, who folded his arms and flashed a malevolent glare, fire ablaze in his eyes. The poor guy. His eyes lit up with fear, and he hurriedly broke eye contact before continuing to walk with Lis. Dylan sighed and shook his head, making his way to the water fountain. After drinking enough, he headed back to Bio and sat down at his seat. Dylan leaned back in his chair and folded his arms, waiting for the bell to ring.

"I know things haven't been easy lately, but we have to try and work things out. You didn't ruin it all alone. And whatever issue you and Lauren have can be worked out. I think you two just need a chance to talk with each other. Avoiding each other and being sad about things is not gonna solve anything and only make you feel worse." Even advised, which had not been a strong suit of his but he figured he needed to say something to offer Lis some encouragement as he made a motion to place his hand against her shoulder to try and comfort her.

Lis grimly nodded. “I want to talk to her, but she’s so tense and tries to get away when I come near,” the teen mumbled. Before she knew it, she stood before the principal’s office, and sighed. “Thanks for walking with me - it means a lot,” she weakly smiled at Even before knocking on the door, and entering. The guilty boy came not long after her.

"I'm sure we can come to some sort of compromise. There has to be a way to work around this." Even said before he heard Lis give him thanks for the escort as Even watched both Lis and the boy who had been responsible for this walk inside the principle's office. Even thought the situation over even as he walked back down the hall.

I need to talk to Lauren about this. I just hope she's willing to talk about it...

Laura looked at Henry as they dance, and he smiled weakly to her. Then, the bell rang, and Laura nodded to Henry, as if to say thanks. Then she left, and headed to her locker. She grabbed a textbook for her next class, Home Ec. She headed to the lunchroom, where she entered the kitchen. She was the first student there, and she sat on an old stool, waiting for a partner to show up and take the seat next to her.

“So, I heard there was a ruckus in dance class today?” The Principal said casually. “What exactly happened?”

Lis drew in a breath. “Yes, there was a disturbance earlier,” she started, folding her arms. “Our class was dancing in prep for the formal, and my partner,” she pointed at the boy next to her, “decided to run his hands down as far as he could. I was not going to let it get by with, so now I’m here.”

Even had finished his Hall Monitor session as he moved to his next class, which mirrored Laura's own as it was Home Ec. as he took a seat by the window while he glanced at Laura while curious about what was gonna happen in this class. Since Even was given his schedule change, he had to expect the unexpected when it concerned his shared classes with Laura.

The boy let out a breath. “...Yeah, it is,” he sighed. Lis was a bit taken aback, surprised that he told the truth. “I got ahead of myself,” he continued. Lis smiled a bit, before remembering why they were in the office.

“Hm.” The principal started. “I’ll let you off the hook for today, but next time this happens, there’ll be consequences. Now hurry along to class.”

In Home Ec, Laura was tapping her fingers on the counter, waiting for a partner to sit on the counter next to her. Students started to fill the room, some talking, some quiet. However, all of them passed by Laura’s counter, not giving off a second glance.

Even took notice of this, as he knew what he had to do as he got up and moved next to Laura as he offered his friend a small smile.

"Would you mind if we become partners?" Even asked, he didn't know what they had been partners for but he wanted to be by Laura's side for this regardless though he gave the choice to her.

Dylan was already in his next period: Honors Algebra 2. He leaned back in his chair and yawned, getting quite bored of the current lecture coming out of the teacher's lips. I finished the book assignment 5 YEARS AGO. I swear, this man cannot talk any slower. However, beneath the bored thoughts that filled his mind, a twinge of excitement still lingered. Tomorrow night was the school Formal. Having an outfit already planned out, Dylan was pumped about the idea of spending some quality time with Lis, his significant other. It's gonna be a good time, I'm sure.

Laura looked up, and saw him, her eyes twinkling a bit. She was caught up in a daze, and just stared into his eyes for a moment, before breaking it up, and nodding.

“Huh? Yeah, sure.” She said, looking away.

Even had also been stuck in Laura's eyes for longer than he intended, as they almost shinned themselves but Even snapped out of it just as Laura had as he focused on the task at hand.

"R-right, thank you." Even said as he sat next to Laura though had also avoided eye contact for likely similar reasons to Laura.

Soon, class had started, and the teacher, Mr. Yeest, was writing some recipes on the board. Everyone called Mr. Yeest 'Baked Bread', because his name sounded like yeast. When he stepped away from the board, there were multiple recipes written. There were six to choose from; Brownies, cookies, mac-n-cheese, spaghetti, cupcakes, or Chex Mix. All were very simple, something a fifth grader could comprehend. However, Baked Bread always started with something simple to start the year, and ended with something difficult.

"Which one should we do?" Laura asked, turning to Even.

Lis almost burst out in protest - letting him off the hook? She balled her fists and sweetly smiled before turning on her heel and heading out the door. Her mood was foul, from all of the built up events throughout the entire day. She stormed down the hall, skidding to a stop and entering the Home Ec classroom. “I’d like to be by myself, thank you,” Lis said to Mr. Yeest with little patience as she went to her own spot, alone.

Even thought over the selection, and he had a hard time to come to a decision but eventually settled on one he liked the most as he hoped Laura would like it as well.

"Well, I could go with making cupcakes. Work for you?" Even asked Laura.

Mr. Yeest turned to Lis, a shocked look on his face from the usually respectful girl.

"Unacceptable, Ms. Fifer. You will need to find a partnered seat, and I'd like to see you after class." Baked Bread said, the class not acknowledging the trouble she had gotten herself into.

Laura nodded to Even.

"Cupcakes sound delicious."

Laura fished around a file from a file cabinet, and pulled out a dark red file, with the words "Cupcakes" in black sharpie.

"What flavor?" she asked, skimming through the recipes in the file.

“Oh, you have got to be kidding me!” Lis groaned, quite out loud. Sharply, she turned around. “My day has been absolutely rotten! She -” Lis jabbed a finger at Laura, “- hates me out of nowhere, I was unrightfully grabbed and frisked on, the boy who did said grabbing and frisking wasn’t punished for doing so, and now this! What next? Oh, wait, I already know! You’re going to tell me my behavior is horrid, and probably suspend me, right?” Tears we’re streaming down the girl’s face, as she slowly began to crumble down her hostile attitude. “O-Or, you’re gonna t-tell me I can’t go to the d-dance,” Lis sniffed, rubbing her eyes with her hands.

“I can’t... I can’t do this,” she whispered to herself, staring blurring at the floor. Still very much crying, she ran out of the room.

Everyone stared at Lis, and Laura gave a horrified look when Lis pointed the finger to her, accusingly. When she ran out of the room, Laura almost glared at her a bit.

"I don't hate her." she said quietly under her breath.

Mr. Yeest was astounded.

"I'll be back. Work on your recipes." he said, rolling his eyes a bit.

Mr. Yeest quickly chased after Lis, and when he caught up to her, he grabbed her by the shoulders.

"Come with me." he said a bit harshly.

He dragged Lis with him to his personal teacher office, which was fortunately close to where they were. He opened he door, led Lis inside, and closed the door, locking it behind them. He sat Lis in a chair in front of his desk, and sat himself in his office chair. His hands were folded on the desk in front of him, and he stared at the girl in front of him.

"Would you like to tell me what's going on?" he said, not as harsh as before.

Even had been about to answer Laura, before Lis suddenly had an outburst as she balled into tears and stormed off. Even had the impulse to go and see if Lis needed her, but then he saw the teacher seemed on top of things. With that he turned to Laura.

"I think you and Lis need to have a conversation soon. I know you might think it's all awkward, but you and Lis both need a chance to speak with each other to talk this over. This can't go on." Even explained to Laura clearly enough. These two needed to resolve this issue before their friendship had been destroyed which was the last thing Even wanted.

Dylan was suffering. From boredom. From extreme, agonizing, boredom. He groaned and slammed his head on his desk before asking to use the restroom, an annoyed look on his face. Algebra Two has to be the most boring class ever taught. He finally arrived at the restroom, but his route inside was cut short when he saw Baked Bread himself, leading a devastated Lis harshly into a small office, closing the door. Dylan raised a brow and thought fast.

A few minutes later, two short knocks on the door to the office could be heard prior to the door opening, revealing Dylan with his hands in his pockets. "Hey, Mr. Brea- erm, Yeest, I was just wondering if I could borrow a few pieces of computer paper from your classroom. You weren't there, so I assumed..." He saw Lis sitting at the desk across from the teacher and waved, a warm smile on his face. "Hey, Lis. What's going on?" Hopefully, Dylan's presence would be enough to cheer Lis up.

Lis broke down, slumping over on the desk. “I’ve had enough of it all. I can’t do it. I can’t,” was all the girl could muster. After a few moments of silence - except for the occasional sniffle - she drew in a sharp breath. “This entire day has been a nightmare,” she started, slowly. “When I came to school, my group of friends were all together - laughing and whatever. However, when I showed up... Laura had been making fun plans with everybody, and she immediately cancelled them when she saw me, like she didn’t want to be around me. So, that stung badly.” Lis looked sideways, solemness full in her eyes.

“Anytime I try to get near her, she retreats from me, like I’m dangerous, or something. I hate it,” her voice cracked. “And then, the entire dancing incidence happened. My partner happened to be a perverted boy who didn’t know where the boundaries were. So when he got in ‘trouble,’ he was let off the hook as if nothing had happened. And then.. then everything that happened a few minutes ago,” the pretty teen looked small and miserable. “I’m so sorry. For... for everything. For disrupting the class, disobeying the teacher, and making stupid accusations about stuff.”

She spoke partly to both other persons in the room.

Mr. Yeest looked to Dylan when he arrived in the room.

"Go ahead, Dylan. But please knock next time." Mr. Yeest nodded, before shooing Dylan out.

Wether Dylan had still stayed or not, Mr. Yeest closed the door again, and returned to Lis.

"Rough day, huh." he started. "I accept your apology. When I was your age, I got in fights with my friends all the time. I wasn't as attractive as you, so I must admit I haven't known the feeling of being sexually assaulted before, but friends and fights I do know. I agree, the boy should've gotten punished. But that can't be helped now, so next time it happens, come to me and I'll deal with it. As for your friend, Laura, is it? Maybe you should try to confront her. Not just approach her. Confront her, because no person can walk away from being confronted, without being self-centered."

He thought he did a good job with talking to Lis.

"Anything else?" he asked, concerned.

Lis listened intently on what he was saying. She nodded when he finished. “Thank you, very, very much,” she sighed, rubbing her eyes once more. “I do have one question though, what’s my punishment for my outburst?” Lis awaited the worst.

"I'll let it slide this time, because I know the stress is riveting and stressful. But next time, try to control your anger." said he, smiling a bit. "We should return to class."

Baked Bread stood up, and motioned for Lis to follow, after giving her a few tissues of course. Then, he walked back to class.

Laura was thinking about Lis, and how Lis had been ignoring her the past couple days. But just then, she realized that she'd been doing the exact same thing, making what she was doing even worse. Laura then felt like an idiot. She thought about all the times she'd been bullied by Henry. Then she remembered the time she hit the guy who was interrogating Even.

I fucking deserved it Henry's shit, she said to herself, becoming even more mad for swearing.

"She then stood up, and asked Even to excuse her for a moment. She left the kitchen, and headed into the bathroom. She occupied herself inside a stall, and just sat there.

(Sorry, I broke my rule. Which is why i'll allow it from everyone else. Feel free to curse your heart out.)

Lis gratefully nodded as she followed Mister Yeest back to class. The classroom quieted down, but returned it’s relaxed behavior when Lis began softly smiling. She walked towards her partner, a girl her age, and sighed. “I’m sorry for refusing to work with you. Would you like to pick our recipe?” she offered. The girl smiled, scooted over, and Lis sat down by her. She noticed Laura’s absence, which made her feel guilty. However, she promised herself to talk to Laura later that day, and began gathering ingredients for their class with her partner.

Laura was in the bathroom, and she wasn't sure what to do. She didn't want to go back to class. She got out of the stall, and made sure no other girls were in the bathroom. She filled the sink with water, and put a plug in to clog the drain. Once the sink filled with water, she shoved her head in the sink. She propped her head there for a while, before inhaling the water. She immediately brought her head up, hitting it on the faucet, which shoved her head back in. She pulled her head out the other side, gasping and coughing. She choked, and ran to a stall, throwing up water and saliva. She held her head after finishing, and it throbbed from hitting the faucet. She pulled her hand away, and there was no blood, which was a good think. She used paper towels to wipe away her face, hiding any evidence that she tried to hurt herself. Then, she returned to class.

Even saw as Laura returned to class. He had to admit, while Laura showed no physical signs of all this getting to her there was just something...off about this Even sensed. Even knew from personal experience when one kept pain hidden and was worried about Laura. Lis as well, though Even turned to Laura as he decided to just try and ask about it.

"Are you okay?" Even asked Laura, as he worried she might have taken his advice the wrong way. In truth Even was not good at this whole friendship thing but he tried to say what he could to help mend this broken bridge between Laura and Lis. He just hoped it didn't create the opposite effect.

"No. I'm not. But we should really get the assignment done." Laura said casually, before picking the red velvet flavor and starting on the recipe.

She grabbed a pan, with the indentations of a jell-o or pudding cup. She outlined each one with a cupcake wrapper, and then, tried to find a bowl for the ingredients.

Damn, you. You're being so overdramatic. You want your friends to care for you, and you're gonna push them away so you get more? Pathetic. Not to mention trying to hurt yourself for reasons so small. What a baby.

The voice in her head that told her this made her gut twist, and she didn't want to do anything it said.

Even frowned. In truth, he'd rather have talked this over with Laura as she was clearly bothered by the Lis situation. Which was a shame, as this issue between the two brought the general mood down. But Even figured that they could talk this over after class and would have to hold onto the faith that it will all work out. It had to, Even refused to allow something so silly to tear apart a friendship.

Even saw that Laura outlined needed ingredients, as he had gone to get a large bowl and placed it on their desk and allowed Laura to take the lead given she had a better touch with food then he did. Not that Even had been useless in a kitchen, given he had to make his own meals, but Laura was just better.

Laura grabbed the ingredients, including a bag of velvet powder. She dumped the powder in, and mixed the ingredients after pouring those in, too. After mixing them well, she poured a good amount of batter into each wrapper, and then she grabbed an oven mit, and put the pan of cupcakes into the oven. Then, she set it to three hundred fifty degrees, and set it for thirty minutes. Then, she waited.

Even watched as Laura placed and mixed the ingredients into the bowl before she placed it in an oven to cook and had to admit she was surprisingly efficient given the situation between her and Lis.

"Good work, I'm sure it will be great." Even complimented while he thought over how to arrange a meeting between Laura and Lis as they needed to have a talk to work this out.

"Thanks." she said, blandly.

She continued waiting, sitting on the stool. Then, she grabbed some scratch paper in one of the files, and took a pencil from one of the cups on the desk. Then, she drew a relatively realistic drawing, of her at a campground, roasting marshmallows over a fire, a dark sky filled with many stars. Sitting next to her on the log was Even and Lis, along with Dylan, the one she hadn't talked to much. Everyone had a large grin on their faces, while Laura talked, and everyone seemed to laugh at whatever the graphite face was saying. There were two tents in the background, and many trees, tall and mighty.

Even during this had glanced out the window to admire the view as he typically had done. Though Even had passed a causal glance to Laura's drawing and had a smile on his face as he made out what he presumed was Laura and her friends all together and having a good time. Something Even desired to make more than just some sketch.

Don't worry. It will be a reality and everything will be great again. I swear it.

Even pretended to have been oblivious to the picture, which was easy enough as he now had a better look at it and indeed confirmed it was Laura, himself and their friends all together which was a nice image. Even then thought over Laura's question.

"Yeah, I know a good place. There's a nice reserve close by the city. Kinda scouted it out when I moved here given I am always a sucker for the outdoors." Even explained as he seemed into the idea of camping out. Though simply gave her the information without adding anything onto it just in the event he may jump the gun which he wanted to avoid doing.

“Cool.” She said, folding up the paper, and slipping it in one of her leather jacketed pockets.

Laura then heard a timer go off, and looked at the oven. She put on a mit, and opened it, a small steam coming from the cupcakes. Laura stuck a toothpick from a small bin, into one of the cupcakes. They weren’t doughy, or burnt, so she took them out, and let them cool, before closing the oven again.
