Finally, toilets are available on every floor, as well as the gymnasium and pool changing rooms.

MISSION 1 ~ Light The Way
- Light the 3 lampposts in the areas neighboring Center Street Entrance!
- The lighter, called the EXS Burner, will guide you to the next destination
- Light the torch with the Burner, wait a bit, then finally light the lamppost
- Supposedly there's no time limit, but it's in the players' best interest to be quick!
We're gonna follow all the regular Pokecharms rules plus a few extras:
- Romance is completely fine, and keep it PG
- No excessive gore
- No godmoding (especially in this rp, you NEED to be okay with different characters having the spotlight)
- Have fun. Seriously, I'll boot you from this RP if you don't do this one. Code for this one is lemon.

Our story is based in Tokyo, Japan. Our characters are all students at Tensei High School, a prep school located in Shibuya.
While they live out their day to day lives as normal high school students, every night they will be pulled into a mysterious realm in their dreams, called the Hollow Night, where they are forced to take part in different missions in order to wake up the next morning.
Throughout their time in the HN, players can form a Pact with another player, and are thus given the ability to channel something known as EXS.
EXS is the source of a player's power and what the monsters roaming during the night, Noise, seek to consume.
It is a form of energy present in all earthly matter, and is described as "the source of all things". By channeling EXS, players are given supernatural powers. These powers can come in all shapes and sizes, be it a magical weapon, control over a certain element, a transformation...sky's the limit! Just be reasonable.
Our characters will use their EXS Ability to defend themselves and their partners from Noise each night. Certain missions will also be much easier for players of particular power types.
Noise similarly come in all different shapes and sizes. Each Noise will belong to one of 3 tiers, depending on their strength. The code for this spoiler is satsuma.
As the story progresses, your character will gain more and more experience with their EXS Ability, being able to wield it with increasing deftness and efficiency.
It's also possible to further evolve your EXS Ability by defeating rarer, more powerful tier 3 Noise known as ‘Nightmares’ , or even other players, and then subsequently draining the EXS from them. EXS drained from defeated players will be in much larger amounts, but the drained player will be ‘erased’ from the game, which has mysterious connotations as to what happens to them in reality.
Nightmares will only have enough EXS to upgrade one person’s ability once. Defeated players can upgrade either one person’s ability twice, or upgrade two people’s abilities once each.

Every night, as your character goes to bed they will have a strange dream of being plunged into a mirrored nighttime version of Shibuya, except the moon is ominously much larger, redder in complexion, and the sky remains pitch black throughout.
In addition, there appears to be a massive tower at the edge of the city where Towa Records would normally be, almost tall enough to reach the sky.
While they're in this night, they will be forced to complete different missions for survival by an unknown, masked dictator called "Juno", who gives them announcements through the various billboards.
Once the mission has been completed, the night will end.
In this manner, not all players necessarily have to do the mission - as long as it is done by somebody, the night will end.

By shifting her radiance, she can become harder to perceive, allowing her to blend into her surroundings or appear as different light phenomena, such as a dazzling rainbow. She can also temporarily blind others by becoming so bright, but this also affects allies.

Eiji wields a large, two handed hammer, with a long handle that functions similiarly to a flashlight. In the middle of the handle is a prismatic, spherical core that can harness and store the hammer's kinetic energy, indicated by it's glow. Eiji can then use it to shoot concentrated light beams akin to a laser out of the other end. Photon Solidify, Illuminate and Incandescence also directly affect the Prism Hammer. Its core also triggers her Beacon of Hope when enough energy is stored.
Backstory/fun facts (if any): Her parents had instilled high expectations in her at a young age, and Eiji found no issues exceeding them. She was no stranger to being called gifted, excelling in both academics and sports. However, Eiji reached the inevitable burn-out starting her teenage years, deeming them boring. She felt dissatisfied with herself (echoed through her parents) and her attempts to find new interests and make new friends were ruined through her competitive nature. Eiji's been surprisingly low energy for a while now, her grades remaining consistently good as far as her parents cared. Perhaps she'll find a new sense of purpose soon...

Personality : Akio is a cheerful, bright, and upbeat young man, as his name suggests in its original meaning. He always wants to look out for the interests of others, enjoys taking care of people, and dislikes conflict. That said, he is fiercely loyal to his closest friends and will not take any insult, slight, or general malevolent behavior towards them lightly.
That said, his trusting and sociable nature often cause great ignorance and naivete on his part, since he prefers making decisions with emotions rather than logic.
EXS Ability : 'Tactile Vitality' : Akio possesses a natural healing touch that can mend wounds and alleviate pain. By placing his hands on an injured person, he can channel healing energy into the affected area, accelerating the body's natural healing processes. Akio is similarly able to use this on other living organisms, and even inanimate objects, restoring them to perfect condition
The effectiveness of the healing touch can vary based on the severity of the injury and Akio's concentration. For minor wounds, a brief touch may be enough to heal, while more severe injuries may require more prolonged contact.
That said, the healing process requires the character to channel their own EXS and energy. This means that healing too many severe injuries in a short period can be physically draining and may leave the character fatigued or weakened.
In addition, Akio is unable to heal himself using his power.

That said, his trusting and sociable nature often cause great ignorance and naivete on his part, since he prefers making decisions with emotions rather than logic.
EXS Ability : 'Tactile Vitality' : Akio possesses a natural healing touch that can mend wounds and alleviate pain. By placing his hands on an injured person, he can channel healing energy into the affected area, accelerating the body's natural healing processes. Akio is similarly able to use this on other living organisms, and even inanimate objects, restoring them to perfect condition
The effectiveness of the healing touch can vary based on the severity of the injury and Akio's concentration. For minor wounds, a brief touch may be enough to heal, while more severe injuries may require more prolonged contact.
That said, the healing process requires the character to channel their own EXS and energy. This means that healing too many severe injuries in a short period can be physically draining and may leave the character fatigued or weakened.

It consumes almost all of Miharu’s (remaining) EXS energy to give her a temporary transformation into a figure with a pair of red, feathered wings, horns, and a sword of light. During this time, her predictions become instinctive. Afterwards, her power is left depleted and her body completely exhausted.

Personality: Kinoko Rusuban is at first glance, a nice and calm-headed young man, who enjoys interacting with other people, and making new friends. He's the walking definition of a social butterfly, not to mention his love for fungi and plants. Under the surface though, Kinoko is manipulative, using his wits to find different secrets and weaknesses of whoever he interacts with. The problem with Kinoko, is that he's too cocky, and believes nobody can see through him, and that the many people under his grasp believe he can do no wrong. His biggest weakness is his love for plants. It's an easy target for anyone willing to try and oppose him, although it usually turns out worse for them than him.
This side of him is much more evident in the Hollow Night, as he thinks nobody would be able to figure out his identity.
EXS Ability + Possible Upgrades:
'Ophiocordyceps' (Level 1) - Kinoko's EXS Ability, Ophiocordyceps, lets Kinoko control Noise (and to an extent, other players), like zombies. To activate his power, Kinoko can release spores in a wide area, and when inhaled by Noise, infects them, turning them into zombie-like creatures under Kinoko's control. His partner and himself cannot be affected by the spores, but the rest of the players can be affected, if unprepared. Ophiocordyceps has a short lifespan of five minutes on the Noise, and when the timer ends, the Noise is killed. A drawback is that releasing the spores takes a lot of energy, so Kinoko has to keep in account his own energy to be useful.
'Cycle of Life' (Level 2) - Ophiocordyceps' lifespan of control is now raised a few minutes, letting Kinoko control the Noise for much longer than it normally would. This helps Kinoko able to do more in longer periods of time, as the initial burst of spore is the only part when Kinoko loses his energy, so the longer the life cycle of infected Noise, the easier it becomes for Kinoko to keep his energy in check.

Energy Drain has a massive drawback though, which is the amount of energy that is drained from a Noise becomes noticeably less than the first time it's done, usually meaning Energy Drain can be done around four to five times before it's effects are almost useless, or unusable.
'Human Control' (Level 4) - Kinoko is now able to control actual players, although it has different effects for players than the Noise. For one, Players don't have a limited life cycle like the Noise, but all other effects still apply. When afflicted with the Ophiocordyceps, the person is trapped in their own mind, unable to control their own body and actions. Personality: Liu is a withdrawn and quiet person, though he is not afraid of social contact and communication as one may think he is. Instead, he simply resents everyone around him and would rather stay as far away from people as he can. In short, he’s every introvert ever. He also has a hidden side of himself, one filled with cruelty and malice. One that may or may not make itself shown in the Hollow Night.. just kidding. It will.
EXS Ability + Possible Upgrades:
Stygian Spectre (First Level) - Liu can manifest his pent up negative emotions, especially his hatred, into a shadow-like clone of himself. The more emotion is stuffed into it, the more solid/stronger its form becomes, both in appearance and power/physique. This nameless doppelganger is capable of shifting from solid to liquid, is physically stronger, faster, intelligent, etc. than its master and can act on its own, though mechanically speaking, it functions like a stand or a persona. It will do its best to protect its master and will immediately lose its form if its master is knocked out from harm or spending too much EXS, which is passively drained at a slow pace after the initial cost of summoning the Spectre. Damage dealt to this double is not dealt to the user, but instead drains their EXS.
Stygian Spectre: Wicked Haze (Second Level) - The clone will grow capable of spewing a thick, blackened gas from its body at any and/or all locations, though it (and Liu) can control this freely. These fog/smoke-like clouds are capable of blocking vision entirely, even from other EXS powers, and inhalation of these clouds can temporarily corrupt an individual’s mind, convincing their brain to act on their hidden desires, turning them mad for a short while. This can be counteracted with those who either have no deep/hidden desires, those who have trained their self-control to resist the fog’s effect until outside of its bounds or those who already act upon such/have gone mad. Due to coming straight from Liu’s own emotions, these effects will not work upon him, granting him a general immunity to sanity loss and being blinded. (The latter already kind of existing already thanks to the Spectre being able to see in his place.) The EXS drain, in this stage, has been lessened, but not entirely nullified (Note: This effect is more akin to convincing someone to act evil and does not directly brainwash them, nor prevent them from further attacking the Spectre/Liu, which is why it can also be more easily resisted.)
Stygian Spectre: Shapeless Shadows (Third Level) - The passive EXS drain at this stage will have been completely eliminated, though it is still costly to bring out the Spectre. This stage will allow the Spectre and Liu to bend its form at will, no longer restrained to appearing like Liu’s clone and allowing it and him to shape it into any form that is currently needed or desired, be it taking after the appearance of an animal, an object, or even something that doesn’t exist. This is only a very basic manner of shapeshifting, like shaping clay, so abilities from copying the forms of other creatures (or details like colour, voice, etc.) will not be shifted into.
Stygian Spectre: Dreadful Darkness (Fourth Level) - This upgrade allows the Spectre to meld itself into darkness itself, allowing a form of quick transportation, including hiding itself in someone’s shadow. It can also drag things into shadows alongside it, which will act like a portal and drag whatever was taken through it in a flash, no matter how long the Spectre took to decide or how far it actually ended up traveling.
Stygian Spectre: Tainting Toll (Fifth Level) - The final upgrade not only lowers the cost of re-/summoning the Spectre, but also allows it to uniquely become harmful to those with EXS around it, acting like a venom that will inject itself briefly with every strike from its own EXS and taint the energy of what it hit, both dealing damage and reducing the target’s amount at the same time. This also means that the Spectre itself, alongside Liu’s energy, becomes tainted, making Liu himself more dangerous as a lesser effect of this is applied to him as well.

EXS Ability + Possible Upgrades:
Stygian Spectre (First Level) - Liu can manifest his pent up negative emotions, especially his hatred, into a shadow-like clone of himself. The more emotion is stuffed into it, the more solid/stronger its form becomes, both in appearance and power/physique. This nameless doppelganger is capable of shifting from solid to liquid, is physically stronger, faster, intelligent, etc. than its master and can act on its own, though mechanically speaking, it functions like a stand or a persona. It will do its best to protect its master and will immediately lose its form if its master is knocked out from harm or spending too much EXS, which is passively drained at a slow pace after the initial cost of summoning the Spectre. Damage dealt to this double is not dealt to the user, but instead drains their EXS.
Stygian Spectre: Wicked Haze (Second Level) - The clone will grow capable of spewing a thick, blackened gas from its body at any and/or all locations, though it (and Liu) can control this freely. These fog/smoke-like clouds are capable of blocking vision entirely, even from other EXS powers, and inhalation of these clouds can temporarily corrupt an individual’s mind, convincing their brain to act on their hidden desires, turning them mad for a short while. This can be counteracted with those who either have no deep/hidden desires, those who have trained their self-control to resist the fog’s effect until outside of its bounds or those who already act upon such/have gone mad. Due to coming straight from Liu’s own emotions, these effects will not work upon him, granting him a general immunity to sanity loss and being blinded. (The latter already kind of existing already thanks to the Spectre being able to see in his place.) The EXS drain, in this stage, has been lessened, but not entirely nullified (Note: This effect is more akin to convincing someone to act evil and does not directly brainwash them, nor prevent them from further attacking the Spectre/Liu, which is why it can also be more easily resisted.)
Stygian Spectre: Shapeless Shadows (Third Level) - The passive EXS drain at this stage will have been completely eliminated, though it is still costly to bring out the Spectre. This stage will allow the Spectre and Liu to bend its form at will, no longer restrained to appearing like Liu’s clone and allowing it and him to shape it into any form that is currently needed or desired, be it taking after the appearance of an animal, an object, or even something that doesn’t exist. This is only a very basic manner of shapeshifting, like shaping clay, so abilities from copying the forms of other creatures (or details like colour, voice, etc.) will not be shifted into.
Stygian Spectre: Dreadful Darkness (Fourth Level) - This upgrade allows the Spectre to meld itself into darkness itself, allowing a form of quick transportation, including hiding itself in someone’s shadow. It can also drag things into shadows alongside it, which will act like a portal and drag whatever was taken through it in a flash, no matter how long the Spectre took to decide or how far it actually ended up traveling.
Stygian Spectre: Tainting Toll (Fifth Level) - The final upgrade not only lowers the cost of re-/summoning the Spectre, but also allows it to uniquely become harmful to those with EXS around it, acting like a venom that will inject itself briefly with every strike from its own EXS and taint the energy of what it hit, both dealing damage and reducing the target’s amount at the same time. This also means that the Spectre itself, alongside Liu’s energy, becomes tainted, making Liu himself more dangerous as a lesser effect of this is applied to him as well.

Weapon Appearance: The Tyrannical Twins resemble a pair of white gloves while inactive, appearing to be completely ordinary. While active, these gloves will tint into a charcoal-black colour and become coated in black-purple flames that nearly covers both of Liu's entire arms, stopping only short of the shoulders.
Special Properties: Liu can manifest his negative emotions into these gauntlet-like weapons to fire off the same flames as present during their active appearance, which act like a special kind of fire that burns the brightest against those with malicious intentions and/or evil clouding their mind, while Liu and the Spectre remain unaffected by them. No matter its upgrades, it will always have a lesser effect on those who are generally more well-intentioned, merciful/kind and/or are allied with Liu.
Upgrades: Visually speaking, these gloves will expand more onto Liu's body as his EXS is improved, eventually growing to the point of covering his whole body in blackened flames at the fifth and final upgrade (though at that point, Liu can make the flames burn just about anywhere.) While the flames themselves will only mildly increase in power and burning speed/duration, the gauntlets themselves will allow Liu to use a lesser form of the abilities his Spectre unlocks as listed below;
- The second allowing the casting of thick smoke from the crackling flames that will still heir the blinding effect, but not the malice-inducing madness via inhalation.
- The third gaining the ability of shaping only into different weapons and equipment/gear, but not inherit any of their effects.

Appearance : Junko is 172 cm, with a busty figure, weighing around 152 lbs, her dark blue hair is semi-long, except for a 1.4 meter rat tail. She has scars on her legs from getting attacked by an owl. Her silver eyes have a light to them, despite events in her past. Her school uniform usually normal, but one or two buttons could be opened if she gets hot.
Personality : Junko is known as her class flirt, however, if she truly has feelings for you, her flirting flies out the window. She is normally a bolder individual, but not a rule breaker. With that in mind, her heart is on her sleeve. The young woman is not shy in the slightest, and would even accidentally confess feelings if something happened. However, she has her downsides, and can be slightly manipulating, but that is only if you get on her bad side. If you mess with those close to her, she will snap.

Inner Storm: Junko can conduct Electricity around her self, alongside through her weapon and her costume. There are several techniques that unlock with EXS Level.
Self Conduct (Level 1): Junko can conduct Electricity around her self, which strikes back when something attacks her.
Conduct to Weapon (Offensive) (Level 1): Junko can conduct Electricity to her weapon, which allows her to damage things more effectively.
Spiraling Storm (Offensive) (Level 2): Junko can now conduct in certain areas of her body, like her hands and feet, to use them to fight unarmed if necessary.
Lightning Step (Level 2): Junko can harness her lightning to the soles of her boots, allowing her to boost her self jump up to 6 (19'8") meters in the air. She can use this Technique up to 3 times in a row then has to wait 30 seconds per use in a row, up to 90 seconds.
Electric Clone (Level 3): Junko can produce a copy of herself, but the copy is made of lightning, and can not move. This clone technique can be used up to 6 times without cooldown, waiting 3 minutes from when all six are destroyed.
Striking Blade (Offensive) (Level 3): Junko can use the Electricity from Lightning step to increase her offense with her weapon, which hits twice as hard as hits with Conduct to Weapon.
Overload (Level MAX): Junko's power can seemingly overload itself, causing a lot more of Electricity to form around her, all other techniques are felt by those that it strikes. This one has actual visible Electricity arcing around her. All techniques are now 60% more Effective, meaning Striking Blade during Overload would hit 320% as hard as a standard Conduct to Weapon not counting The Odachi no Inazuma's bonus. The Jumps From Lightning Step are now 9.6 Meters (31'6"), for the first, and standard (19'8") for the rest while under the effects of Overload.
Costume : In the Hollow Night, Junko wears a Shoulder Cape, this has gold threading, and her shirt reveals about half her cleavage, keeping her flirtatious personality in mind, with silver threading at the seams. The shirt is long sleeved, and has a mesh midsection area made of silver threads, which conducts the Electricity. The shorts she wears are decently long, with long socks, both of those have copper threaded into them. Black, Silver toed boots are worn with the outfit. All of the costume's non metal threads are black. There is a large Saya on her back for the odachi, which is insulated so that the lightning doesn't conduct through the Saya.
Weapon: Junko's weapon is Known as The Odachi no Inazuma: a 5 foot long Odachi with a silver handle, the edge of the blade has been silvered for Electrical Conduction. The weapon gives a 60% bonus if she is using an offensive Technique of the inner storm. As the EXS level increases, another 20% is added to a maximum of 120% at level MAX. At EXS level Three, The sword can Expand the Lightning in Conduct to Weapon to hit double the length away, alongside increasing the Maximum Number of Jumps of Lightning Step by 1. At EXS level MAX, The Sword's blade is made of lightning by this point and can arc 50% of the blade length further to hit enemies.

Appearance : Junko is 172 cm, with a busty figure, weighing around 152 lbs, her dark blue hair is semi-long, except for a 1.4 meter rat tail. She has scars on her legs from getting attacked by an owl. Her silver eyes have a light to them, despite events in her past. Her school uniform usually normal, but one or two buttons could be opened if she gets hot.
Personality : Junko is known as her class flirt, however, if she truly has feelings for you, her flirting flies out the window. She is normally a bolder individual, but not a rule breaker. With that in mind, her heart is on her sleeve. The young woman is not shy in the slightest, and would even accidentally confess feelings if something happened. However, she has her downsides, and can be slightly manipulating, but that is only if you get on her bad side. If you mess with those close to her, she will snap.
EXS Ability + Possible Upgrades:
Inner Storm: Junko can conduct Electricity around her self, alongside through her weapon and her costume. There are several techniques that unlock with EXS Level.
Self Conduct (Level 1): Junko can conduct Electricity around her self, which strikes back when something attacks her.
Conduct to Weapon (Offensive) (Level 1): Junko can conduct Electricity to her weapon, which allows her to damage things more effectively.
Spiraling Storm (Offensive) (Level 2): Junko can now conduct in certain areas of her body, like her hands and feet, to use them to fight unarmed if necessary.
Lightning Step (Level 2): Junko can harness her lightning to the soles of her boots, allowing her to boost her self jump up to 6 (19'8") meters in the air. She can use this Technique up to 3 times in a row then has to wait 30 seconds per use in a row, up to 90 seconds.
Electric Clone (Level 3): Junko can produce a copy of herself, but the copy is made of lightning, and can not move. This clone technique can be used up to 6 times without cooldown, waiting 3 minutes from when all six are destroyed.
Striking Blade (Offensive) (Level 3): Junko can use the Electricity from Lightning step to increase her offense with her weapon, which hits twice as hard as hits with Conduct to Weapon.
Overload (Level MAX): Junko's power can seemingly overload itself, causing a lot more of Electricity to form around her, all other techniques are felt by those that it strikes. This one has actual visible Electricity arcing around her. All techniques are now 60% more Effective, meaning Striking Blade during Overload would hit 320% as hard as a standard Conduct to Weapon not counting The Odachi no Inazuma's bonus. The Jumps From Lightning Step are now 9.6 Meters (31'6"), for the first, and standard (19'8") for the rest while under the effects of Overload.
Costume : In the Hollow Night, Junko wears a Shoulder Cape, this has gold threading, and her shirt reveals about half her cleavage, keeping her flirtatious personality in mind, with silver threading at the seams. The shirt is long sleeved, and has a mesh midsection area made of silver threads, which conducts the Electricity. The shorts she wears are decently long, with long socks, both of those have copper threaded into them. Black, Silver toed boots are worn with the outfit. All of the costume's non metal threads are black. There is a large Saya on her back for the odachi, which is insulated so that the lightning doesn't conduct through the Saya.
Weapon: Junko's weapon is Known as The Odachi no Inazuma: a 5 foot long Odachi with a silver handle, the edge of the blade has been silvered for Electrical Conduction. The weapon gives a 60% bonus if she is using an offensive Technique of the inner storm. As the EXS level increases, another 20% is added to a maximum of 120% at level MAX. At EXS level Three, The sword can Expand the Lightning in Conduct to Weapon to hit double the length away, alongside increasing the Maximum Number of Jumps of Lightning Step by 1. At EXS level MAX, The Sword's blade is made of lightning by this point and can arc 50% of the blade length further to hit enemies.
Backstory/fun facts (if any): She is the youngest child of the Shirogetsu Family, and the younger sister of Mizuko. She was hit on when she was in junior high by some third years thinking she was a second year. They got promptly beat up by Ryu and two of his friends after one tried to grope her. She is also a bit of a nerd. She is the shorter of the two between her and her Best Friend Emiko.
