Jadewall Academy, Outside the Roost
Seraph arrived outside of the roost a bit later than everyone else. After everyone took off, she decided there was no point in making a plan and just started walking. When she found Malphas, she saw Sooen and Blitz. That latter of whom was yelling at Malphas and a woman Seraph did not recognize. The woman then introduced herself as "Phoenix."
Picking apart the pieces of their conversation, Seraph surmised three things: 1) Black Sage had been injured, 2) Malphas was covering for the sages as to how and why, and 3) Black Sage had muttered to Phoenix about a "heart in the library." That last statement puzzled her. The library seemed like a strange place to keep a heart. Perhaps Black Sage meant something else? Seraph tried to think of words that sounded like "heart" that could be in the library. "Hearth" didn't work. There was no fireplace in the library. Maybe Black Sage was suffering from delirium.
Then it hit her.
"I think I know where that is," Seraph said, stepping forward. Not the subtlest of entrances, but oh well.
"The heart in the library, I mean. There's this mural in the back and...actually, it's easier if I show you."
Jadewall Academy, Inside the Roost
Inside the Roost, the sages were blissfully unaware of the conversation going on outside. Unfortunately, there was nothing blissful about the midnight-haired woman before them. Electra sipped her tea slowly. Her eyes burned with rage, but she was determined to keep her hands steady.
"So," she said in a calm tone that surprised even herself, "here we all are."
White Sage brushed past the other sages and grabbed Electra's wrist. As Malphas predicted, the card was pressed to the palm of her hand. White Sage took it. "What's this?"
For a moment, Electra turned pale with shock. She had never heard White Sage speak so deeply before. They sounded dangerous.
"You're smart," she said, resuming her usual charisma. "You figure it out."
"There's a message," Red Sage chimed in, taking the card. "G0 2 HighEr LeVeLS. ASK 4 JACK. SJ WILL Sh0W U WheR. TaLK 2 THe M0. M0?"
Electra smiled. They had no idea what the message meant.
Red Sage waved the card in the air. "This message is enchanted."
"Naturally," she said.
"What does it mean?"
"Exactly what it says."
White Sage knocked the teacup out of Electra's other hand. This outburst did not surprise the Remnant as much as the first. She heard muffled voices from outside. The sages would not dare attack her. Not unless they wanted their students to hear them.
"Enough of your games woman!" White Sage hissed. "Who were you contacting? What's the M0?"
"That's Mo."
"What?"
Electra sighed. "M-O. Two separate letters. I couldn't finish because Malphas would catch me." The remnant woman leaned back. "Though by your actions, I guess he deduced that already. As for who I sent the message to, you already know that."
"What was the rest of the message?"
"Monkey." She said. A wry grin crossed her face. "I told them to find a monkey."
