Private/Closed Bootleg Brothers 6

Jeice

This guy was a tough customer, the ki blasts barely seemed to do anything against the warrior! He was fast too, able to keep up with Jeice's attacks and keep a strong defense! Damn, he was doing it again, underestimating these opponents!

Dart suddenly unleashed a shockwave that pushed Jeice back. Dart was excited, grinning happily at Jeice. The alien warrior just scowled. No, no! He was supposed to be terrified of the Ginyu Force's immense power, not enjoying the fight! But there was something else strange here too. An intense, fast-paced music was playing in their battlefield. No, it was more than just playing. It felt like the music was part of the battlefield. The arena pulsed to the beat of the music, and Jeice could feel it pulsing in him too. What was this power?!

Dart lunged towards Jeice, attacking with a flurry of his own. As Jeice switched to the defense, he found his agility in dodging and ability to tank and block attacks increase. That scarf really did work! Through Dart's initial flurry, Jeice dodged, blocked and bob around all of the attacks, even able to throw in a few counter-punches back at Dart.

"NO HOLDING BACK!" Dart roared, slamming his blade into the ground. His attack called forth a line of flame, bursting from the ground! Jeice flew back, using his ki and the scarf to project him from a majority of the flames. He dodged to the side, kicking off the ground and flying back towards Dart.

Jeice's scouter pinged warnings, but the alien fighter didn't care. Piece of junk couldn't detect power levels worth anything here. A plan began to form in Jeice's mind. He needed to be smart about this. The guy was happy and energetic, and had barely seemed to be effected by the ki blasts and his defenses were quite good. He'd try breaking down this guy bit by bit. Jeice launched another flurry of punches and kicks at Dart, his speed and strength enhanced by the Noble Scarf he wore. And as Dart once again went of the defensive, Jeice would try out his new move.

Fighting energy formed around Jeice's fist, and he threw a punch at Dart's breastplate with his new Rock Smash technique!

Labyrinth

The Marshtomp lunged forward, attacking with it's Rock Smash attack! The Morphing Jar turned to face its opponent with a shriek, but before it had the chance to attack the Marshtomp landed their blow! The Morphing Jar screeched in pain, recoiling before exploding into pixels. The jar it came from faded away, as did the treasure chest. A breeze blew through the room, causing the torches to flicker. But otherwise, the maze fell silent. In each moment that passed, Neph would slowly feel the power increase she received from Morphing Jar fade away until her strength returned to as it was.

Dagr

The winds whipped around Dagr as she called forth her Tempest Step ability. Warlock charged up an attack of his own after using his weapon to destroy the 'GO!'. A bolt of purple psionic was blasted towards Dagr as she shot forward in a blur. Sun-Wing blocked the strange wave with its wing. The massive bird screeched in pain as its mind burned with the psionic energy, unable to do anything but cling tightly to its perch with all its might. But it had bought Dagr the time she needed.

With a burst of wind, Dagr vanished into a blur and landed next to Warlock. She didn't seem that affected by the plight of her companion, instead keeping her focus set on Warlock with a wild smile. Letting out a battle cry, she unleashed a flurry of ax slashes against the massive alien's legs. She would cut this guy down to size, one way or another!

Nótt

Taskmaster got up, ready to head to his match. Sure enough, most everyone was gone for the matches. Nótt watched Taskmaster for a moment, then decided to speak up. There was something she wanted to know, and propriety be darned, she would at the very least ask it.
"Ah, Sir Taskmaster. Before you go... I was wondering if I could ask you something more." Nótt said. "You said your name was chosen for you. This question may be strange, or improper, but I was curious. Do you consider that your true name, Taskmaster?"

Nótt smiled to the assassin.
"I was wondering if perhaps, well... you could tell me your true name, if you have one. I would very much like to know the name of the man who bested me..." Nótt said to Taskmaster.

Ótr

"About time." Ótr grumbled. "Follow me."
The pair made their way out of the lobby, and up the stairs into the stands. Once in the stands, Masaru was recognized by the crowd immediately. Despite having been eliminated so early in the tournament, he still had quite a few fans clamoring for his attention, asking for autographs or just wanting to say high.

Ótr continued to lead Masaru regardless, heading further and further into the stands. Eventually, they made it to a part of the stands where there were quite a few less people. They were up in the nosebleed section, not very good seats for watching the fights. Turning a corner, Ótr took a few steps before gesturing into the shadows of one of the walls.

In the shadows sat a short girl dressed in white. Her clothes were that of an overcoat and a cape, with a massive white witches hat over her long blond hair. On the hat, a red and black eye was open and watching. Or was that just a design? Held in her hair was a long, black, rifle-like artifact. Her left arm was covered in strange white armor with a few eye designs emblazoned in the metal. But what was more unusual was the armor around the forearm. It appeared to be a magical device of some kind, one that, in passing, sort of resembled a Duel Disk like the ones Rex, Weevil, and Bakura used.

It was

Eitri

"Thank you, Ótr." The sage purred. Ótr grumbled and glanced away, sitting back down. Eitri had been watching the fights quite intently, and after a few moments finally looked over to Masaru. She smiled at the young man.

"Hello again, Masaru." Eitri said. She tilted her head, looking the fighter up and down. "Do you know who I am?"

Sitting next to Eitri was another woman. While it was difficult to tell her exact age, it seemed like she could be in her late teens to early twenties. She wore a black breastplate that left her midriff exposed and black shorts, as well as patterned tights and black boots. The woman also wore a black cloak over her shoulders, and scattered metal armor on her arms. A strange longsword was at her side, one that looked like it was made of bone. She had long green hair, and blue eyes. More unusually, a strange green halo circled her head, just above her eyes. Like Eitri, she was watching the fights intently, but did not bother looking over at Masaru.

IRNANE

As expected, Rinku blew open the wall on his floor, with the simultaneous result in collapsing the entire floor Irnane would have otherwise been on, had she not taken precautions just moments before. Closing her fist, flames continued to barrel out of her palm, now catching there, making her hand glow with captured fire as she used her other arm to throw herself up and over to the other end of the alleyway as where she'd just been all crumbled in on itself.

It was effectively a tomb, but unfortunately for Rinku, he had just kicked up more debris than he'd generated earlier. Of course, Irnane had no reason to believe he had no methods of seeking her though it, but similarly, he had no reason to believe she could or couldn't either---

And she could.

His unique energy was detectable through a basic extrasensory magic, outlining Rinku and his yo-yo's in her vision though the cloud of dust. As the wall he'd kicked crashed to the opposite side of the alley, its momentum carrying him, Irnane's fingers dug into the brick, stopping herself. He was a crafty little shit, that much was certain. She'd let him keep up his momentum, but right now, she was ready to take the offensive in her own hands.

"Nice try," Irnane spoke as she dropped from above, the Sword of White Woe appearing in her hand - but Rinku would not know that's where she was coming from. She had thrown her voice with basic illusion magic, making it come from directly in front of Rinku, giving he impression she was lunging at him from directly ahead. It was as though her voice had been moved entirely to come from somewhere else, rather than appearing in two places.

Knowing the trickery of the boy, she expected some sort of defense that probably surrounded the boy from all angles, which would thus halt her momentum before it began, though the Nerevarine had her response. The gathered energy in her palm now extended to her blade, and she made sure to position it as a plunging dive, both to impale Rinku from above, but also to release an omnidirectional blast of energy from her blade the moment it made contact with anything, be that Rinku himself, or a defense he procured, its power enough to shatter her own barriers and more in a single blow. Up until now, the magicka she'd been using had been minimal, though the energy gathered into this attack required some substantial use- not much more than most, however.

NEPHTHYS

In a rather rapid response, the Morphing Jar was eliminated just as Neph had regained her stance. More trickery from this spirit of dark mischief. He must think himself soooo clever. Nephthys's eye twitched at that thought, but the effects of the jar weaned at its defeat. Sans the skeleton pulled his plunger back to his side as he winked in thanks to the Marshtomp for getting his very important work tool back.

<You are fortunate our allies are responsive,> the gardevoir projected to Rex. She was unsurprised at the Marshtomp's action, he was a reliable creature. Not quite as brawny as her trainer's Swampert when he'd been a Marshtomp, but mostly identical nonetheless. The skeleton, however, had moved without her knowing about it- or seemingly anyone else. It didn't matter, she'd been more focused on Rex's possible consumption and her own exhaustion. <Lest surely you'd have been eaten.>

She sensed where the connection to Bakura was. The use of the trap monster had refreshed the trail, though it was quickly stagnating again. At the very least, she had it again, and knew where to continue. No use in dawdling any longer than they had to. She had a feeling they were getting close.

DART

Back and forth they went, a flurry to the naked eye. Dart couldn't help but notice how Jeice only seemed to get faster. He wasn't about to let himself get left behind, this was too early to let a disadvantage appear! Pushing his body, Dart began to steadily catch up, closing any distance covered in their difference. Still, he didn't quite match the speed, but he managed to keep up through sheer willpower as they traded blows. For every two hits Jeice struck through, Dart landed one of his own, though both combatants were tough- physically tougher than anything either had faced so far in this tournament.

And Dart was loving it.

♫♩ On a cold winter morning, in the time before the light
In flames of death's eternal reign, we ride towards the fight ♫♩

Rock Smash hit Dart squarely in the chest, and his teeth rattled as he grit them, sliding back across stone and metal that bent and sprayed beneath his heels as he dug them in, rapidly slowing to a stop, leaving two short trails in the ground from his feet. That had been a tough hit! "Good..." Dart's fists engulfed in flames as Heat Blade vanished, and he went into a purely brawler stance. "Now DO IT AGAIN!"

♫♩ When the darkness has fallen down, and the times are tough alright
The sound of evil laughter falls around the world tonight ♫♩

He blasted forward, suddenly a bit faster than before. The weight of his blade had been holding him back, but now he closed the gap in speed between the two, still pushing himself to reach Jeice's stat as he aimed to continue their fast and furious exchange with verve. For every connection of flaming fist, be it to a block or a landing blow, a microexplosion of flames would expel, doubling Dart's striking strength with each blow.

♫♩ Fighting hard, fighting on for the steel, through the wastelands evermore
The scattered souls will feel the hell, bodies wasted on the shores ♫♩

He didn't seem to be slowing down any time soon, but as he pushed himself, he wanted Jeice to feel the rush. To feel the fury of fire in his heart. To set it aflame with the passion and lust of battle. A battle was only as great as both combatants let it be, and if Jeice didn't put his heart into it...

♫♩ On the blackest plains in hell's domain, we watch them as they go ♫♩

Dart suddenly dropped to a knee, smashing the ground beneath him with tremendous force as the earth and metal beneath his knee shattered, potentially destabilizing it beneath Jeice before Dart would burst upward with an infernal uppercut, leaving a trail of flames behind him as he soared upward a good twenty feet with the uppercut.

♫♩ In fire and pain, now once again we knooooow ♫♩

Audrey Redheart
Swiftly caught off guard by Kirin's counter attack, Audrey was sent flying off her feet, crashing into a tree before falling to her feet.
"Urgh, lucky hit." She muttered, swatting aside the incoming Talismans with her Sword's sharp edge. Redheart then bounded off the ground yet again.

This time, she feinted a swing upwards, before moving to dash behind with a back slash.
"Don't tell me how to do my job...!" She growled. "Besides, if they're really so dangerous," Audrey sounded rather mocking. "Won't they get suspicious if you got back right away, with a new ally, and go after you?!"

Masaru Takahara
During the rather short journey with Ótr, Masaru did his best to keep up, though certainly let himself indulge in his fans (A concept that, while not foreign to him, was certainly quite cool in his opinion). Still, after a moment, he caught Ótr's disgruntled stare and made an excuse to catch up.

And he had to say...
This lady was not familiar to him at all.
"Huh...?" After a short moment of wondering, he decided it was best to return the small smile. It took a moment of awkward silence, before Masaru finally chose to respond.
"...Sorry, I don't-"

- "KYAH"
"YOU'RE NOT GONNA WIN, YOU-" -

Suddenly, the martial artist gripped his head, as if memories not allowed were attempting to reinstate themselves in his mind. Fire? Some giant monster? A border? Some...american guy and a pink puffball?
"I...I don't..." Masaru's voice struggled to get out for once

The Warlock
"You care so little for your ally - The way of those le-" Whatever attempt at dramaticism Warlock was making, it was cut off when Dagr began swinging rather wildly at his legs. He scowled in pain as the first blows managed to strike straight through his armor, and though he was able to pull his leg back to avoid some more, his right leg was then attacked too. The second Dagr had finished the flurry, however, a flash of light suddenly teleported Warlock once more, the Mindripper appearing not too far behind her back...

"As I was saying..." He scowled, dashing forward. "The way of those lesser, if such a thing is any indication this fight will be even shorter than I anticipated." At first, it seemed he was making a move to grab at Dagr's head...but instead the hand stopped short, psionic energy flowing throw Sun-Wing's mind. "I revel in this information gained. There is nothing more to be learned, the time for action is finally at hand!" Warlock suddenly leaped into the air, landing on the leftmost high platform. "You better look behind you."

More pillars of light soon appeared, 4 zombies appearing behind Dagr. One began to pulse, preparing to explode, while the others attempted to strike with their arms.

Rinku

"Nice try."

Upon hearing the voice, his Yo-Yos instinctively deployed, two from either hand. It came from in front of him, which was the building that was just broken down by him. So she was climbing out of the wreckage, eh? He wasn't going to let that happen.

In a flash, he darted forward to where he believed the noise was coming from, breaking through some residual brick and slamming his fist right into the rubble mound. But it was just that: rubble. No body. No voice. This confused him for a second before a close explosion rocked nearby. Wind from the attack blew past him as he winced for a second. He had been tricked. A grin formed on his face as the explosion subsided.

"Now THAT was an interesting attack." He said, breaking his hand out of the rubble. "But why don't we change this up with a game of catch?"

Darting directly upwards, his Yo-Yos still deployed, he levitated as the demonic instruments drilled into the surface and gripped brick after brick on the side of the stable buildings. In consecutive movements they began to throw several bricks down at her from above almost like a machine, the several Yo-Yos taking turns firing bricks to the point to where it was like a consistent low speed firearm.

Rex Raptor

The monster was beat...good. Giving a sigh of relief, he was greeted with Neph, who as per usual, was ready to talk down to him. Rex who rolled his eyes, propped himself back up from his scared gremlin demeanor.

"Hey, how could I have predicted danger eye pots?" He shrugged. "More importantly, have you seen how weird this room is? Looks like they hired Dracula as an interior designer! This creepo place must be important or something right?? Just look at that keyhole over there!"

808/Peppermint

Analyzing and typing in some calcs, she analyzed the fight through the optics of 808, who when witnessing the rock smash technique from Jeice, noticed an interesting parallel. Running some comparisons, it was using a similar style that Kragg had displayed, but with a twist. The way it was preformed didn't seem to be solely to inflict damage...but to shatter defenses.

"Hey, heads up dragon geek." Peppermint relayed to Dart from the ground, cupping her paws. "That melee move he just did is meant to destabilize armor, get hit by that enough times and you'll be taking hits much harder than usual!"

Taskmaster
Before the Taskmaster got to the door, Nótt stopped him for one final question. He turned to face her, and paused for a moment.

"You can call me Tony. Tony Masters."

He then turned around and walked out of the restaurant. It was a false name, of course. One that he used quite often since it was so simple. The truth was, any name he once had died the day Taskmaster was born. He gave the aforementioned name to give her an answer she wanted to hear, as she could be a valuable ally.

In front of the building, he casually stuck a camera in the most inconspicuous place he could manage before heading off to the item shop. Once there, he picked up Knowledge is Power- MODOK's ability. He had considered the Battle Armor as well, but the usefulness of inerrant foresight could not be understated.

Then, the assassin moseyed on down to the gate, where a child in a toga was waiting for him. It was not Pit. Taskmaster looked up at the screen to peek at Pit's image just in case, and sure enough, he was right. He looked back down at the puny Weevil with a cold gaze.

"What are you doing."

Marshtomp
The little Marshtomp had destroyed the creature with one blow! He turned to look at Gardevoir with a dopey smile and raised his arm in triumph.

Kragggg
The woman ducked the Earth's Bastion first swing, but as the first fist passed overhead, the second was already primed to strike, aiming to follow up the first attack with a brutal haymaker. However, the assassin had a counterattack in mind, and let fly an arrow towards his neck. At the last moment, Kragg changed the direction of his punch to intercept the missile instead. This threw him off-balance, but he had the time to quickly regain it since the Spartan had backed off. He kept his fists close to his face to guard against yet another arrow. This Kassandra was aiming for a swift kill, yet she would find the Wallrunner's guard to be persistent.

A bit tired of dealing with the pesky arrows, Kragg stomped to summon a spike of stone beneath the god-killer, and then rolled into his impenetrable Defense Ball at top speed. His target was to bulldoze the woman without leaving a good opening to counter.

The Regular Shopkeeper
The Shopkeeper was infected by the Host's glee, and he could not contain his excitement for long. He grinned from ear to ear, and softly chuckled.

"You rascal, you really did it, huh?"

He leaned over the counter to playfully nudge his friend's shoulder. His head bobbed as he nodded.

"That sounds grrreat, Gene! I can't say I wasn't mulling over the option of broadening my horizons."

The Regular Shopkeer took the Host's hand and shook it.

"...After I'm through with this contract, that is."

Kirin
The so-called Hero refused to listen, swatting Kirin's talismans away as she approached again with another slash. The priestess swung her own blade in unison, aiming to deflect the attack - but it had been a feint, Audrey dashing behind her with shocking speed. Pivoting on her foot, Kirin was able to place her sword in the way of the incoming attack, though she was quickly knocked backwards by the swing. Rolling along the ground before springing back up on her feet, the Adept frowned. With a sword of that size, she doubted she could match it head on without using Warden Flash...

"We could get more people to help us. If we rallied enough contestants, I'm sure our combined efforts could take those guys down!"

Another barrage of talismans was flung at Audrey, Kirin closing the distance with a sprint. Once she got close enough, the priestess would slash at Audrey once before flipping over her opponent's head, spinning at high speeds with her blade out via her Rakshasa Cleave. She needed to test if rapid consecutive hits could break past Audrey's guard.

Pit
"Man, how deep does this thing go?"

"Strange... if someone wanted to have a private talk, being at this depth would be more than enough."

It had been an uneventful few minutes straight of walking through the tunnel. Aside from Palutena's voice, only the quiet crackling of his Burning Palm's flames filled his ears. Who even wanted to talk to him anyway? Did it have to be so far away? And where'd all this space come from if the lobby had plenty of open areas?

Soon, however, the tunnel finally opened up into a large cavern. A few puddles sat there, coupled with some stalactites and stalagmites to complete the look, but he spotted no one there. Pointing his arm upwards, Pit fired his weapon, a blast of flame illuminating the cavern - to reveal absolutely no one standing there.

"Aw maaan," Pit whined. "Why would someone bring me all the way out here for nothing? It doesn't look like there's any traps, either."

"I'm not sure, but I think it's best if we head back for your fight. Master Hand's sure to get cranky if you idle around too much."

"Yeah, I guess you're right." The angel replied, voice echoing throughout the cavern as he turned to face the tunnel he came through. He was already dreading the walk back, though he forced himself to enter the tunnel again. "Can't you like, warp me out or something?"

"Sorry Pit, but it looks like the only way I'm able to help you in this tournament is by granting you the Power of Flight. And if we tried to use it in a tunnel as tight as this, you'd probably come out the other side all mangled up."

Pit winced at the thought of that. Maybe he'd be better off just walking...

IRNANE

A scroll appeared in her hand, and as Rinku hurled chunks of rock toward the dark elf, her scroll went up in flames. Just when every projectile reached her, they'd suddenly reverse direction without losing any semblance of inertia, launched directly toward Rinku as the Nerevarine stood calmly opposite him. The scroll had been one of Reflect, the School of Mysticism. It was barely noticeable, but there was a faint shimmer of pink light around the Incarnate. With her body reflecting the projectiles, she tugged out a potion and popped off the cork before she drank the concoction. With a gulp, she tossed the empty glass flask away as Irnane's body began to shimmer, before she seemed to quite literally sink into the shadows.

Given the angle of the sun, the entire alley was made of shadows. Normally if it had been a normal spell, attacking while in this form would dispel the effects, but as it was a potion, its effects lingered longer and stronger. The shadows themselves became an enemy to the demon as the sword of white woe suddenly flashed out from beneath him, aimed at his midsection - the largest and easiest to target part of any target. Just as quickly as her blade came from below, it dispersed, suddenly striking from one end of the alley. With the reflect spell still up, counters would be bounced right back in the demon's face for the moment, leaving him with not a lot of options to act on, and even less to counter attack with. One of the few options would be to flee skyward where the sun lingered, as it seemed Irnane could strike from wherever the shadows lie, disregarding the space of distance.

NEPHTHYS

<I'm sure he deems himself important,> Neph replied to Rex as she approached the skeleton door. However- she quickly found out it was locked. Of course it was. Bakura was no doubt irked at how the gardevoir had been leading the group thus far. She could sense an energy around the door, enough to know that trying to blast it open would either summon more monsters, simply wouldn't work- or both.

Now they had to find a damned key. Nephthys turned, and noticed the Marshtomp was awaiting her approval with raised arms in his elated triumph. Again, she was reminded of the swampert she knew, and let a small smile stretch her thin line of a mouth. She gave him an encouraging thumbs up, but it was back to business a moment later.

<You, skeleton,> Nephthys turned her gaze on Sans, who grinned lazily back. <This room matches your... theme. We need to find a key to the skeleton door. Any ideas?>

"hm... have you considered searching the adjacent rooms?" he asked.

The gardevoir rolled her eyes. <You have no methods of narrowing down the search?>

"if i looked in one room, and it's not there, then that would narrow down your searching options."

His logic was as sound as it was obvious. <Fine. Go look, and take Marshtomp with you. Raptor and I will search elsewhere.>

"got it, boss," Sans turned to Marshtomp. "ready to hear about how many pairs of socks i have? they all have holes in them so that my feet can go in."

KASSANDRA

The beetle stomped, and the ground rumbled before three spikes rapidly shot up from the ground in a line, with the misthios beneath the trajectory of the third. She jolted backwards, barely missing the largest of the spikes, before she kicked off of it to gain more ground - again, just in time as Kragg barreled forth, tucked into a ball. He shattered through the earthen spikes, rolling past before he changed his trajectory.

Tucked up like that, Kassandra assumed his carapace was at its mot durable. No weak spots to exploit, and while he was fast, he didn't seem to have the greatest maneuverability. She nearly had a second charge built up, so she quickly consumed one to notch an Artemis Arrow. The spectral projectile shimmered as Kragg rolled forth, before she let it launch toward him. No amount of defense would be enough for the ghost arrows. The gods themselves couldn't deflect them.

Hopefully that would be a lesson in keeping Kragg out of the ball form as Kassandra notched another arrow, letting it fly behind the ghost arrow to follow-up on the potential shock of the ghost arrow.

GOLDEN HOST

Gene beamed as they shook hands, before he straightened his jacket. "As always you're surprising... I expected you'd need a little more convincing. Of course I've uh, always had trouble reading you, Reggie. It's one of the things I like about you."

With the deal made, the Golden Host turned away toward the door. "But I did expect you to honor the contract you already made. That one's definitely like you. So ah, as the kids might say, toodles~" He waggled his fingers toward the Regular Shopkeeper, before he vanished on the spot in brief flash of golden light.

The future where he was concerned with was uncertain, and potentially very, very volatile. He was one step closer to getting his pearl.

Rinku

The bricks he hurled one after another were sent on from him...right back to sender. This legitimately surprised Rinku as he raised his arms, tanking one of the bricks as it impacted his forearm. His Yo-Yos intercepted another before he fled upwards, out of the way of the rest. As he scowled back at the ground, he found his opponent seeping into the shadows of the alley.

A shadow attacker, heard about some humans who could manipulate shadows and attack with them. Since she seeped into one, that means she's either going somewhere to prepare a counterattack, or more likely...trying to attack me when I least expect it.

Fully aware of her probable course of action, he levitated toward a nearby building, putting his hands behind his head as he turned his back in his shadow, which was cast in a nearby wall. Looking back from the corner of his eyes for the slightest bit of movement while he deployed hi yo-yos on the ground. When he noticed a little flicker of a blade start to pop out, his Ki activated in the strings of his Yo-yos, pulling him towards the ground bound toys and away from the blade, all the while two other Yo-Yos shot out. So before the blade retracted-

ZAAAAP!

Pulses of paralyzing pink energy of Rinku's own Ki were projected out into the shadow as The Yo-Yos ground into it. Aiming to paralyze her while she was in her shadowed state, and then break the very thing her shadow was atop of, breaking their sword in the real world while she'd be left with the hilt in the shadow world!

Jeice

Even with the hit from the Rock Smash, Dart didn't falter! The two exchanged blows, with Dart's hits becoming stronger and stronger! Jeice's scowl deepened. The fact this guy was having so much fun was seriously pissing him off! Dart smashed the ground, but Jeice hovered lightly above the ground. Still, he struck Jeice with a powerful uppercut! It smashed into Jeice's armor, sending the warrior flying.

In the audience, Ken Masters nodded with approval.

♫♩ So now we fly ever free
We're free before the thunderstorm ♫♩

Jeice flipped in midair, landing sideways on a ruined building and launching himself back at Dart. Over the sounds of battle and the screaming guitars, he heard another voice call out. A small cat, one that didn't show up on his scouter. A robot. And one that was feeding info to Dart. He'd have to deal with that eventually.

♫♩ On towards the wilderness, our quest carries on ♫♩

Dart was quicker now that his weapon was gone. But with Dart falling back to the ground, it gave Jeice an idea. He grinned cockily, flying down beneath Dart and attempting to hit the warrior back up into the air. He'd try 'juggling' Dart, not letting him fall back to the ground!

♫♩ Far beyond the sundown, far beyond the moonlight
Deep inside our hearts and all our souuuuls!! ♫♩

Eitri

Masaru winced, holding his head. Eitri leaned forwards expectantly, her smile growing.
"You do, Masaru! You do! Remember!" Eitri commanded. Ótr looked to Masaru strangely, an expression of recognition on his face. While Byleth finally stopped watching the fights, looking to Masaru with concern. The metal eye on Eitri's Grim Brokkr detached itself, floating up in front of Masaru. Looking up, it projected a hologram of red light.

"Remember them. Leon Kennedy."

A picture of the agent appeared on the hologram. It wasn't a true picture of Leon, more of a drawing, but it definitely was Leon.

"Kirby."

A picture of the pink creature replaced Leon.

"Pryo."

The man in the gas mask and red suit.

"E-Series Model-123, Omega."

The massive red and black robot.

"Belowski."

A teenage boy with a blue jacket, duel disk, and relaxed expression.

"Bowser."

A massive lizard creature, with a spiked shell and red hair.

"Zed."

A stern, pink haired man in a blue suit with a single flaming wing.

Eitri pointed to Masaru.
"We were all there, in that Dimension Games death tournament. Remember it!" Eitri said.

The alien teleported around Dagr, and when he appeared behind her she swung wildly. He narrowly evaded her attack, jumping back to the highest platform. He monologued, oozing a smug confidence. Dagr looked up to Warlock with a grin as Sun-Wing snapped out of its stun, shaking its head.

"Naw, I don't think I will." Dagr said. Sun-Wing screeched in alarm, and Dagr jumped onto the lower left platform just in time to avoid the strikes from the zombies. As she did, she swung her ax and attempted to hit the glowing zombie, looking to knock him into the other three zombies to blow them all up.

Dagr swung her ax up at Warlock, continuing to attack his feet and legs.
"Hah, yeah! I guess running away is an action!" Dagr called up to Warlock, taunting the alien with his attempt to teleport away.

Weevil Underwood

Finally, the creep in the skull showed up. Weevil looked up at Taskmaster. The assassin seemed... unimpressed by his disguise. Weevil just had to play it cool. He could still do this, Pit hadn't made it back yet.
"What am I doing? What does it look like, I'm waiting for you!" Weevil snapped. He looked down at himself, and feigned understanding. "Oooh, I get it. Yeah, I look a little different like this."

The insect duelist held up his duel disk.
"Like it? I got it from the coin shop with my winnings. Didn't realize it would make me look and sounds like that Weevil guy too. But oh well. It's not like I can sell it back." Weevil said. He gestured towards the entrance to the arena. "Now come on, everyone else's match has started already. Let's not keep the crowd waiting!"

Nótt

"Tony Masters..." Nótt muttered as Taskmaster walked out. She smiled gratefully. It was nice to know his true name. She had the feeling there was quite a bit more he was hiding. It was quite intriguing. The Princess watched as Taskmaster headed towards the arena to start his fight.

She looked back to the restaurant. She was back here. Alone. Well, not totally alone. The boy with the metal arm and strange jester creature Dagr had fought were still here. But Nótt wasn't quite interested in talking to them. Ah. She should go find Ryuji. Hopefully, he hadn't just left the tournament after his defeat. Getting up, Nótt walked out of the Regular Burger and started looking for the masked Phantom Thief.

IRNANE

Rinku's plan was sound, and as Irnane watched it unfold, she had to admit- she was a little impressed. However, there was something he didn't account for. Not that he had any fault in that, there were simply things about her universe that he couldn't know, and much the same vice versa. He appeared to be familiar with shadow-fighting, and perhaps he was used to it being a more 'real' thing.

Irnane's form of it, however, was more illusory than not. From Rinku's perspective, it had appeared she became part of the shadows, but that was because her form had become imperceptible until it moved from the shadows. It was a strange, somewhat complex thing, but Irnane was still as tangible as she'd always been. It was Rinku's perception that had been altered from the truth, and that would alter anyone who looked at her- save herself.

His move had been clever, and had it functioned as he'd expected, it probably would have succeeded, save for the truth of the matter, and for Irnane's heightened speed. This allowed her to more rapidly retract her attack, heaving leapt to the wall nearest Rinku, directly in the way of his counter, and she extended her free hand.

There was a small moment where it seemed she had foolishly moved her hand to intercept the paralyzing yo-yo's, surging with magenta ki, when-

A blade spinning like a buzzsaw appeared, connecting to the attack. The energy dispersed harmlessly against the blade as the yo-yo's bounced off of it, and Irnane seemed to slink back into the shadows, preparing another counter. If Rinku hadn't been concerned about the tainted ki before, he certainly would now, as he would sense that brief moment of contact completely sever the connection he had to that ki, and by extension, his yo-yo's. It was immediately restored, though it would feel weakened, thanks to Weapon Eater still being active.

Soul Edge felt comfortable in Irnane's left hand, and she made a mental note to find its original owner (Troy if she remembered correctly) her appreciation for such a tool. It hadn't even conducted that energy as other materials might.

"Tell me, demon," Irnane's voice came from around Rinku, distorting into the shadows around just like her visage was. "Does control feel like it's slipping away? Is this a foreign experience?"

DART

As he reached the zenith of his arc, Dart registered 808's words. "Wait, really? Thanks!" He called over to her as he dropped, only to grunt when something slammed into the middle of his back, launching him back up. Dart twisted his body like a cat just as Jeice slugged upward with another hit.

Dart flipped through the air, before he turned his body again, extending his arms outward and-

BOOM!

♫♩ So far away, we wait for the daa-eaaay
♫♩

A condensed explosion erupted from Dart's palms that sent him spiraling back at Jeice just as he was approaching, the Red Warrior adapting to the air as he slugged his elbow into the mutant's body armor, knocking him back- only for Jeice to slug him right back.

BOOM!

♫♩ For the lives all so wasted and gooone
♫♩

Dart blasted right back at Jeice, connecting with another hit, and once more, the Ginyu Force member launched the mercenary flailing right back.

BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!

♫♩ We feel the paaaain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days
♫♩

Back and forth the two went, before finally, Dart didn't boom himself back, insted continuing to fly backward through the air, carried by Jeice's last hit. Bruises were starting to form on the man's arms as he procured Heat Blade, rapidly slashing through the air. Streaks of flames materialized in the wake of each slash, bursting forth in lines of flames to intercept Jeice as he started to fall, his breathing a little heavier, but excitement not dampened in the slightest. This had to be the best fight he'd had in... he didn't know how long! Even Gunvolt hadn't been this fun!

♫♩ Through the fire and the flames, we carry ooooon ♫♩

This flying thing could prove a problem though, and Dart needed to keep the playing ground even. His trajectory was sending him sailing directly through into the main atrium of the ruined Black Castle, and thusly its throne room. That would be perfect for what came next. Twisting himself, his boots slammed into the tough metal of the castle floor, and he skid to a halt, holding Heat Blade out to his side as he awaited Jeice's rapid approach. This fight was far, FAR from over!

Rinku

His attack didn't impact the way he thought it would. On top of it all, there was a weird flux of energy the seemed to mess with the fluidity of control he had with his Yo-yos, like a controller who's batteries were dead before getting a second wind. Silent for a second while he analyzed the saw blade that dispersed, he was broken from this examination after Irnane spoke, to which he crept a smile on his face.

"Heh, tell me something, lady. Do you really think this is me playing serious?"

The limper Yo-yos suddenly snapped to, vibrant pink Ki flowing through each thread. It could be visibly seen now arching like electricity through his body, an aura cloaking him and his demonic Yo-yos. It seemed as though he was still holding back!

Holding out a hand, the devilsknife materialized right in his grasp, lighting ablaze with his pink aura a second later. With a flick of his hand, the scythe spun rapidly, becoming like a pink blur. And with a display of sleight of hand, he quickly tethered a Yo-Yo from his hand to the blade.

Swinging around the Yo-yo, a high pitched wail of power was heard surging, spinning the yo-yo around his body, which in turn was spinning the devilsknife. But to someone just watching this? It looked like a mini pink hurricane had just formed, as it tore with frightening speed towards Irnane, faster than Rinku had displayed thus far. One that would follow her and would not leave her a second to rest

Taskmaster
The skull-masked man stared down at the duelist for a moment more- not believing a lick of Weevil's story. He then decided it wasn't his job to keep cheaters in line, and walked into the portal. Whatever that runt tried to pull wasn't his business. In the void, Taskmaster had already grown accustomed to the process so his pick for the stage was quick.

"SHIELD Helicarrier."

Marshtomp
The Gardevoir gave a thumbs-up in return and the Marshtomp lowered his arms, but his grin widened. He waddled back over to the group as they discussed a game plan, and the Mud Fish was decided to go alongside the squat skeleton. Sans asked Marshtomp something about socks, and he replied with a question of his own.

"Marshtomp marsh? [What are socks?]"

Kraggggg
The ghost arrow passed through the impassable defense. It tore through Kragg's huge shoulder, piercing muscle and drawing blood from within his armor. The jolt was enough to interrupt the Defense Ball, and the Earth's Bastion tumbled to a halt. He rose to his feet, and plugged his wound with rock. The wound was deep and damaged a lot of muscle tissue, but the beetle was large, and so he would be able to get by on limited movement of that arm. The Wallrunner stomped again, and this time, a small pillar of rock rose in front of him, similar in width to the boulder he had thrown at the start of the match. He punched the pillar with his good arm, and shattered the pillar to send a scattershot of fragmented stone towards Kass. If she wanted to play the ranged game and prevent his approach, he would outdo her at her own game.

Pit
After a slightly shorter, more hurried trek back through the tunnel, Pit emerged back in the plaza, a little blinded by the much better lighting compared to the interior of a cave.

"Phew, I won't be going cave exploring again anytime soon. I think a good ol' battle is sure to get these muscles-"

Turning towards the gateway as he approached, Pit spotted something unusual. His opponent had just walked into the gateway, that part was normal, but that other guy next to it... was he trying to cosplay as him? The angel sure didn't recognize him. Walking closer, Pit called out to the pretend-angel.

"Hey, what's going on here?"

Grazie
The trek up the stairs took forever, with the only remarkable thing that happened being that she bumped into a guy wearing black and purple on the way up. He seemed like one of those "emo" types. Right off-putting, in a similar way to how one of the other Knights looked. Soon enough, Grazie found herself at the very top, met with another metal door that she pushed through with a little effort...

What she saw on the other side was right impressive. A sea of spectators scattered across the stands, stretching as far as she could see. The section she'd entered contained only a fraction of the spectators, seemingly reserved for people of high status. It only made sense for that man to be here. Of course, she needed to make it through these few rows of people if she wanted to meet up with mister Zeddy.

Grazie began to move through the roaring crowd, keeping an eye out for the young prince, a bead of sweat rolling down her face. The crowd she could see from the lobby itself was already big enough, but seeing this many people really shocked her. She'd never been in front of a crowd this massive before, and it made her heart race a little. A few people even called out to her, commenting on her performance up until this point. The Adept nearly tripped over a small boy with headphones, holding some sort of holographic gaming device in his hands.

"Oops! S-sorry 'bout that, little guy!" Grazie apologized as she continued to walk through, only earning a sigh and an eye roll from the teenager. She'd been walking through the stands for a while now, but there was still no signs of Zeddy. With a crowd this big, how was she supposed to find-

"Grazie."

"T-that voice..."

The girl looked to her left, spotting the man she'd been looking for a couple rows down. He sat on a crimson leather seat, outlined with a golden frame, almost like a throne. His long pink-red hair was tied up at the back, a couple strands of it loose, green ends at their tips. Donning a black suit with golden ornaments and a white undershirt underneath, his green eyes kindly looked into Grazie, head resting on his hand.

"It's good to see you." The man spoke, and Grazie immediately felt her mood brighten up. This was--
He Who Shines Bright as The Sun

ZedΩ motioned for Grazie to join him, gesturing to an empty seat near him. Three adult women were seated near him, covering his front, right, and back, while a small girl wearing a black rabbit-eared hoodie sat directly next to Zed himself, supported by a small purple cushion with a crescent pattern. Waving to the other members of ATEMS, Grazie took the seat to the prince's left.

"Has the tournament been to your liking so far? I must admit, seeing so many contestants from wildly different worlds is truly exciting."

"Yeah, no kiddin'..." Grazie nodded. "And they're right powerful too, even if a couple act all high 'n mighty. Sorry I got eliminated jus’ like that, mister Zeddy. I coulda made it much further…"

“There’s no need,” Zed waved a hand dismissively. “Your performance was more than satisfactory. You should be proud of yourself.”

At the prince’s words, the woman to his right perked up, extending an arm to the heavens, a rose in hand. Her short, bright chestnut hair covered one of her red eyes, contrasting the white open tailcoat suit she wore. Coupled with the blue scarf around her neck and high heels, her appearance was almost as royal as Zed’s.

“Yes! It was truly a magnificent display, my dear Grazie! I must say, seeing you perform on a stage as grand as this fills me with jealousy! I could only dream of such a thing!” She exclaimed flamboyantly, as though she were in the middle of a play.

“Haha… Thank ya, Prado. I think…

As they spoke, the woman behind Zed, donning a purple bodysuit with brown strips of cloth tied into a ribbon behind her back, muttered something the group couldn't quite understand. The roars of the crowd didn't help matters, either, though it seemed she'd been doing it for a while now.

"Er, what's Serpentine sayin'? I don' hear a thing..." Grazie asked.

"Oh, she's just been mumbling on and on about traumas and grudgeful voices," the last of the women, sitting in front of Zed, replied. Her hair was long and pink in color, complementing the A-line maroon dress she wore. Appearing like a polar opposite of Serpentine, Sistina looked at the colder Knight with disdain. "Unacceptable. How can you be distracting yourself with such matters when you should be guarding prince Zed's back?"

"...shut it, you sycophant." The cyan-haired Serpentine finally spoke up, earning a shocked expression from Sistina. She seemed completely appalled by the response.

"Now, there's no need to bicker." Zed intervened, and the two Knights returned to their positions for the time being. "I will say, a part of me wishes I had been invited to the tournament as well. It would be fun to face off against such a variety of opponents. Though researching into potential ways to solve our crisis through this event must still be considered our priority. Anything we learn could save many lives." He spoke, and at that moment, Zed felt a tug at his arm. "Something the matter, Layla?"

Head turning right, the prince was met by the little girl's red eyes staring into his own. While she said nothing, Layla pointed her other arm towards a small group gathered a few rows below them. A young girl in white witch-like attire, a muscular fighter (which Zed recognized as one of the contestants), a knight in black and purple, and a green-haired woman with a halo over her head were engaged in conversation. Rather, it was just the witch and the martial artist talking, with the former clutching his head in clear discomfort.

Zed turned his attention to the group curiously, watching from afar. While he wasn't within earshot, he could see the young girl display a crimson hologram in between her and the boy, showing a series of images depicting multiple people. A look of recognition flashed across the prince's face, and he found himself almost in a trance as each holographic image passed by. A rush of blurry memories flooded his mind, but he could see them becoming clearer and clearer with each passing second...

"...mister Zeddy? Ya alright?"

NiGHTS

Both fighters had suggested their stages, and with a flash of green accepted lights from the AI, the world began to take shape. Frosty hills took form, an elaborate jungle gym kingdom appearing on a portion of it, snowmen and ice crystals erected into beautiful spires has materialized. Many buildings shot up around them as well, most of which were made of toys or other means of entertainment.

Hotels that looked like they were made of Jukeboxes, buildings that were game consoles and tv screens, giant pinballs, a massive basketball hoop who's ring was actually a helipad for an equally massive RC helicopter, hovering just above it. The center most building was a giant arcade machine who's open innards were made of slot machines, which spidered up it's frame.

Neon lights lit up the streets from the city as pleasant music filled the air from every angle. It appeared the Sorbet and delight titles of their names fused together by adding a comically sized Ice Cream cone, sticking out of one of the larger buildings, the straws coming out of the ice cream seemed to be pouring out fountains of ice cream and chocolate. A briskly winter wind blew through the air, snowflakes trickling down on the breeze. It was truly a winter wonderland!

"Wow! Ain't that a sight!" NiGHTS remarked, nodding approvingly at the aesthetics. "A good mix, it's almost a shame we have to fight instead of go exploring. Let's have a fun bout!"

NiGHTS vs Lucario....START!

NiGHTS began the fight by just rolling up a snowball, in their hands, hurling it as if it were a snowball fight. Laughing, she flew further up towards the jungle gym, calling out to him.

"C'mon whiskers, let's go over here!"

...were they truly focused on the fight, or just taking in the sights?

IRNANE

There you go, Irnane thought as Rinku made his comeback. He'd been properly enticed with her words, predictably taking the proverbial bait. Just keep doing that...

The Nerevarine disappeared, though Rinku would not realize this. Her shadow self still maintained for a few more moments as she reappeared beside the rubble heap Rinku had made earlier, using that earlier-placed recall spell. She quickly slunk her way atop the tomb meant for her as the demon let out his barrage. He was exerting a great deal more of that pink energy, and while she wasn't a gambling dunmer, she'd wager he couldn't immediately replenish that energy he was expelling- at least not at a reliably rapid pace.

The more he used on nothing, the better. Due to her rather slippery escape, Irnane had been nothing but shadows by the time she reached her current spot in the wall as gusts of wind blew down the alley. The potion's effects wore off, and she took the time to give Soul Edge a once-over, admiring the craftsmanship.

With that, she produced another potion and swigged it down. Her magicka hadn't been at a dangerous amount, only nearing half, but she'd prefer to maintain peak efficiency if she could, bringing her magicka back up to its optimal fullness. Casting a glance toward the alleyway beside her, she narrowed her crimson eyes, before her hand twitched, enveloped in a brief pink light that saw another recall orb appear, before another scroll burst into flames in her hand, though its effects weren't yet know.

She had laid a trap, based upon Rinku entering a space- a space that would be nigh impossible to avoid, being the length of the alley just before her. Passing over would activate said trap contained within the scroll.

SANS

The skeleton's grin remained plastered on his wide face as the lights in his eye sockets swiveled to direct attention at the Marshtomp. "check it out," he said, pulling a foot from one of his slippers. He pointed down at it and wiggled his toes. "i could talk about it for hours, but eh, my brother usually tells me to put a sock in it."

Sans shrugged as he slipped his foot back into the slipper. "marshtomp, huh? lemme guess. pokemon, right? i take it you're from the wild, too. yep, i've seen a tree or two in my time, basically wild myself. i completely understand your situation entirely."

KASSANDRA

That seemed to piss him off. A single stomp brought up a pillar of rock that rose up, and the misthios took a step back as she frowned. The hell was he-

SMASH!

The pillar shattered, fragments of rock hurtling toward the mercenary, who quickly procured the Shield of Alexander in one arm, and turned herself so that the Fleece of Jason protected what the shield didn't cover. The rocks battered into her, knocking Kassandra back. Her sandals shifted rock underfoot before she came to a stop, rotating her shoulder a little. The Fleece of Jason was tremendous for invalidating most attacks, but the rocks and fists were its weakness. It was how Jason had acquired the fleece in the first place, killing the lion that no weapon could kill. Still, it had provided a layer of protection, and Alexander's shield had taken the brunt, so all in all the woman wasn't feeling like she'd been hit with a pile of rocks. Ironically.

Now she'd try the taunting tactic. Would probably be more effective than it had against Jeice.

"That it?" The misthios called. "Some warrior you are!"

That always worked against the jarheads she found herself typically dispatching. Jeice didn't count, he was an alien.

Rinku

He wasn't fooled for long. One swipe is all it took for him to change things up. As nothing was struck, he knew she was up to her usual tricks. He knew she was most likely undetectable, but he wouldn't need to detect her. A wicked grin was plastered on his impish face.

So giving her little time to set up her next scheme, he used his attack to slice up the alleyway, breaking down the structural integrity of the very canyon like structure. Hacking and hacking in a circular motion, he caused a section of the rock face to collapse on either side...and more, and more. And with a violet streak of pink light, the devil knife carved a decisive blow into the valley wall to the right, causing a landslide to bury the whole area in a thick sheet of rock!

Colliding with the other side of the Valley, it cause a domino effects of increasing landslides as the demon flew upwards, his pink ki settling noticeably as he found himself above his carnage, looking down at the display.

"You alive down there?" Rinku called. "What? I can't hear you under all that rubble! HA!!"

IRNANE

The moment she placed the trap, a sudden surge of the energy barreled down the two-way alley, and the dark elf looked up. He was going to bring it all down... so much for being subtle.

She darted upwards, her body twisting and twirling as she moved. The bands of power expelled by Rinku weren't infinite in their reach, nor their coverage. It was enough. Debris was blasted this way and that, and the Incarnate appeared as a mere streak. Rock to rock, she kicked off of, practically flying out of the top of the alley as it was brought down into rubble continuing to rise as she went. With basic telekinesis magic, she caught herself and held her body in place. Anything more would consume real magicka, so she kept things simple, watching Rinku rise above he carnage.

Hm... the recall point wasn't totally lost. Buried under all that rock and brick, yes, but that could be salvaged. If it wasn't uncovered by some ridiculous attack, she could always... yes, that would work. As for her trap, it activated when the magicka sensed the uselessness of the situation. A moment later, a skeletal arm emerged from the rubble.

"You alive down there?" Rinku called. "What? I can't hear you under all that rubble! HA!!"

"SCRAAAAAAAAA!!!" The skeleton screamed as it crawled out of its grave. That had been the trap. Irnane found the skeletons silly, even if their screams ripped through the air louder than anything she could hear, and sent shivers down the spines of many. It carried a shield in one hand, and a sword in the other. Despite Rinku's advantage in the air, it still ran in his general direction. "SCRAAAAAAAA!!!"

It wasn't a completely useless trap in the end, at least. Rinku was a difficult individual to reach, and his environment control was impressive. She might have to start pulling from her Dagoth playbook for him. She had the tools to weaken the boy, but he could replace that weakness. If she inflicted enough of it, there was a possibility he could run out of replacement energy and be forced to deal with her trickery. He was no scheming slouch either, however. He'd catch onto that strategy in a heartbeat and do everything he could to prevent it. Irnane needed to be wise with her coming approach. She needed to limit the options of what he could do, to focus on what he was left allowed to do.

Perhaps it was time t start thinking outside of the box.

Rinku

As Irnane did crazy high speed parkour to climb up to the top of the crumbled valley, Rinku gave a semi impressed nod, giving a whimsical smirk by the time she arrived, lowly levitating off the ground.

"Heh, what's the plan now? Got any elaborate tricks ready to pull?"

"SKRAAAAAA!"

Down below, a lowly skeleton ran aimlessly under Rinku...doing nothing but maintaining and running in place like a broken NPC in a video game. Rinku cocked his head and gave a gesture at the skeleton as he mouthed 'what?'

Quickly shaking off the absurdity of the situation, Rinku reeled back the devilsknife, before, like a hand of cards, it seemed to flap into eight different devilknifes slightly overlayed atop each other. Throwing them out like cards, each of the devilsknife duplicates flew whirling on their strings. The pink energy emitting from them making it so they were streaks of whirling death in the air. If she were to somehow evade each of them, they would whirl back around like boomerangs.

While she was playing the duplicate game and couldn't see past the flashy pink lights and death incoming, Rinku covertly shot four of his Yo-Yos into the ground nearby, that way if she were to be focused on evading the blades, the last place she'd think to look would be straight under her feet!

She acts fast, but anybody can be overwhelmed. Let's watch this doll break!

Lucario
Well, this was different. The Mt. Sorbet Lucario know was devoid of any civilization, and only the scrappiest pokemon could survive in its freezing temperatures, making it a good training spot. But now it reminded of the Battle Frontier in its showiness, enough for him to briefly wonder what his surroundings would look like if he had picked it now.
His keen senses picked up on NiGHT's attack, if it could even be called that. Lucario calmly bent to the right, letting the snowball sail past his head.
"...I don't have whiskers." Lucario replied, blank faced. He did give chase however, following NiGHTS up to the jungle gym. He even played along, scooping a pawful of snow on the way and carefully lobbing it overhead to snipe NiGHTS's noggin before sliding in a gap. NiGHTS' free flight meant she could scale the jungle gym without much trouble, but Lucario's acrobatics allowed him to keep up, barely. Lucario's face remained focused, despite with the fact that he was basically fooling around in playground equipment.

Ryuji
"GAAAAAAH! DAMMIT!"
It wouldn't be too difficult to find the phantom thief, as he had taken up a corner of the plaza to vent his frustrations. Rubbing his head and kicking his foot against the floor, Ryuji continued his mini tantrum until he caught a glance of familiar face coming his way.
Ah shit, it's Nott.
That's when Ryuji suddenly lost all his energy, slumping down shamefully as he faced the princess.
"...So I got my ass beat." He explained with a sigh. "Maaaan...and I was feeling so cool too. Sorry Nott, I got cocky..."

NiGHTS

The jester flew upwards, flying through to a higher point of the giant sized playground. As NiGHTS was hit with the snowball across the head, their flight pattern shook up.

"Oh no, I've been hit!"

Like an aircraft that just took a heavy hit, they sputtered in the air before dramatically plummeting down on the large bridge of the oversized playground, a plume of snow coming up at her impact to mimic an explosion of a ship crashing. On the bridge, they had their arm above their forehead almost like they were in a play, putting their hand up as if to halt fighting.

"I can't...go on!"

She couldn't hold it anymore. Her cheeks puffed up before she let out several goofy laughs, well aware how this situation isn't how a fight should go. Slowly getting up, they waved it off and opened an eye to Lucario.

"Hahaha...alright alright, lets start getting into it, nice an' easy!"

Not wanting to waste too much time of their on task friend, they electing to get things started. They flew up just a bit before drill driving back down to where they were on the bridge, stopping on a dime as they struck a pose, right foot down and the left foot high up in the air behind her like an acrobat. The impact they hit on the bridge made the platform wobble upwards, threatening to sweep Lucario off his feet!

Jeice

Their clashes continued. At the very least, Dart was a much more traditional fighter than Kassandra was. Jeice's suspicion that the warrior was unable to fly was proven correct as Jeice continued to attack. Still, the dragon warrior wasn't totally useless in the air, able use energy attacks to shoot him in other directions. The first time had caught Jeice off guard and landed a good hit, but after that Jeice had been careful to expect the technique.

With a final hit, Dart was sent flying into the Black Castle. Hopefully, far away from that pesky robot cat. Jeice flew after Dart, coming to a stop just above the hole of the attrium. Let's see how resistant Dart was to this! Jeice held up his hand, and a ball of red ki began to form.

"Crusher Ball!" Jeice yelled, throwing the explosive ki attack towards Dart. After all, what were the odds of fighting two people in a row with reflect-type abilities?

Weevil Underwood

Taskmaster said nothing, then stepped into the portal. Weevil's grin grew, and he pumped his fist. No sign of Master Hand showing up, no sign of-

"Hey, what's going on here?"

Across the plaza, Pit was quickly heading towards the gateway. Weevil chuckled, and waved to the angel boy.
"Heh heh! You snooze, you lose!" Weevil said, and stepped into the portal.

Sure enough, he was greeted with the same white void as always.
"Heh, heh, heh! Duelist Kingdom Forest Zone!" Weevil said. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! This was perfect! He'd be back in the tournament after he crushed this creep, and on his way to the finals!

Nótt

It surprisingly didn't take long to find Ryuji. He was currently yelling angrily, having a temper tantrum and kicking the floor. Nótt stood at a distance and watched for a few moments, rather amused. A part of her wished she lacked the composure to express her true feelings of her loss in this way.

Finally, Ryuji noticed her.
"There's no need to apologize." Nótt said. "Your opponent was impressive. And it's not like I faired any better. Today, skulls mean death for me I suppose. And to make matters worse, I was eliminated before my sister was."

"So now that you've been eliminated, what are your plans? Are you going to stick around and watch the rest of the matches?" Nótt asked Ryuji.

????

As Weevil inputted his selection, a yellow light went up Instead of green for the selection. A high pitched 'ping' went off, as if a windows error had occurred. Then, the ping had several other pings overlayed atop it, getting faster until it made one last low pitched one, the light glowing red as a result. Suddenly, the host of the tourney, Master Hand appeared without warning.

"Impersonating a fighter and trying to come back when eliminated? Creative, but no doubt against the rules. There's one thing I don't tolerate around here, it's those who break the rules. CRAZY!

As if rising from the aether, Crazy Hand, Master Hand's twin, emerged from the skybox. The laughing hand twisted and contorted their fingers as they descended. In a flick of the wrist, green strings latched onto Weevil's limbs from Crazy Hand's fingertips. It seemed near impossible to fight off their hold.

"Show him what we do with rule breakers. But, do it elsewhere, don't want to kill the mood of the fighters and the audience."

Whispering the last part to Crazy, the second hand cackled in response. A red rift opening up behind Crazy Hand as they laughed maniacally, dragging Weevil into the rift!

As the rift was closing, Master hand laughed it off, wagging his finger in the air.

"Ha ha! There is one every year, folks." He joked. "Now, continue with the matchup, don't let this inconvenience you!"

With that, he snapped his fingers, the AI resetting Weevil's choice as he vanished from view.

Peppermint/808

"...They really don't expect me to keep up with that do they?"

Peppermint looked around to see it Master Hand was watching. Was impossible to tell, but figuring to play on the safe side, all she did was groan before switching off her controls, letting 808 take the wheel. The cybernetic cat nonchalantly made their way towards the innards of black castle, all the while, Peppermint put on some tea. She would need it.

Pit
"Hey, wait up!"

The imposter headed through the gateway, Pit giving chase into the arena. When he came out on the other side, he watched in awe as Master Hand himself appeared, calling forth his rarely-seen twin to take care of the alleged rule breaker. Weevil was subsequently dragged into the rift in space, vanishing alongside Crazy Hand. The angel gulped at the sight of this, and with a few more encouraging words, the tournament host disappeared.

"...well. Sure wasn't expecting that. Hope that guy's alright..." He commented, still looking at the spot Weevil had been sent through. "Uh, how about I pick... the Reset Bomb Depot?"

The AI lit up green this time, and the world began to shift. Clear blue skies filled their view, the two fighters located high in the air, a grassy field barely visible below. They stood atop the SHIELD Helicarrier, which remained mostly intact in terms of layout - but it was overgrown with vegetation, plants and vines of various shapes and sizes covering the ship's exterior, and even strange crystals with a pinkish hue littered the hull, jutting out the top and bottom of the ship. A particularly large tree trunk burst from the middle of the Helicarrier, stretching up into the heavens, ending in a slightly erratic, spiral-like design. Mystical lines stretched along each natural construct, almost reminiscent of blood vessels, giving the impression that the ship was alive.

"Ooh, what a stage mix." Pit remarked. "Alright, you ready, mask guy? Let's get this show on the road!"

Drawing his Palutena Bow, the angel took a step back as he opened fire upon Taskmaster. The holy arrows would curve slightly around obstacles, homing onto the soldier's location somewhat.

Audrey Redheart

The Overseer-Slayer rolled her eyes as Kirin added to her plan, Audrey's blade now relaxed and pointed to the ground.

"Seriously? You think those losers would stand a chance, even together?! Don't be so naive!" She scolded Kirin further, though this one not nearly as logical as before. Once again, her blade to swung to deflect the talismans, though Audrey was distracted enough this time that got through and hit her hand. She had no time to focus on that, however, as the Hero was forced swing her blade to block Kirin's first attack-

And then Kirin flipped over.
"Huh?!" Audrey was surprised and turned her head up to see the adept coming back down with a fast spin to her. Though Audrey moved to block, her being caught off guard combined with the multi-hitting attack swiftly knocked her back, swatting the sword to Redheart's side as she skid back, shaking her head.
"Ugh. I'd make you pay for that," Audrey growled, pointing her blade to the sky. "Consider this power a reason to listen to me!" And with that shout, lightning burst back down into the blade, entering it once more.

Audrey always enjoyed getting to show that off to new opponents.
And with a swift charge forward, she pointed her blade and shot out lightning right towards Kirin, aiming to cut her with another slash.

Masaru Takahara
As Eitri began to show Masaru the holographic images, more and more of what Masaru shouldve known began to flow into his mind more painfully. When Zed and Bowser were shown, the martial artist felt a rage burning in his chest for a moment.
Focus!
He was able to quell it.

"Death...tournament? I..." Masaru shuddered. "...!"
The memories had returned - In a way. It was painful to endure them, and parts were spotty.

He also remembered yelling in his last moments out of spite, which Masaru considered rather...strange, for him. Still, he had to focus.

"Eitri?"

The Warlock
This time, Mordenna did not deign to respond directly to Dagr's taunts, jumping over to the other side's lower platform to avoid the strikes. Meanwhile, the zombie made no attempt to avoid Dagr's blow, and it alongside the others quickly blew up in a purple mist.

"Let's see how you remain so foolish, after this!" He called out, flooding more psionic energy from head to hand, before it flowed out towards Sun-Wing.
"I implore you to aid me." His voice whispered into Sun-Wing's mind and attempting to take control. If done successfully, this would be followed by ordering Sun-Wing to strike at Dagr.

IRNANE

He sent the scythes again, and Irnane relinquished her telekinetic hold. They flew by overhead, curving around to come back toward her. She dropped like a rock, reaching the ground almost at the same time Rinku threw out the yo-yo's. Had he predicted that? No... no, he was setting something up. The demon's tactic hadn't changed since the fight had begun. Overwhelm and punish. Interestingly, Irnane tended to use a similar strategy.

"Very well," she sighed. It was time to use one of her custom spells. NiGHTS had almost forced her to use it, but the nightmaren had been overcome by the strategy the Incarnate set up, leaving her without the need to fall back on one of her trump cards.

The yo-yo's were all around her. The skeleton was screaming aimlessly. The scythes were zoning in all around.

Irnane closed her eyes, her surroundings fading into the background as she focused for the briefest of moments.

"Dark Shadows, cast long and deep.
Bring with it the Call of Azura.
Grant me your shield.
Grant me your sword.
Mother of Kin, bury his hope."

Dark magic.

Irnane's eyes shot open, a silver glow bursting from them as the shadows themselves leapt up around her, appearing to engulf her- before it erupted outward, expelling to cover the entire arena, momentarily casting anything and everything in total, absolute darkness.

And when light slowly returned, the devilsknives all had stopped, dark shadows that took their form pushing them back. The yo-yo's too had similarly been replicated, four connected to one of Irnane's hands as Rinku's very own pink energy, now turned a dull red, hummed at the dark elf's finger tips.

She had created shadow copies of Rinku's weapons and abilities.

Her yo-yo's aimed to smash his, imbued with dark magicka and the same power. They would dodge, smash, and persist just as his would. And as Irnane burst from the spot, closing rapidly in on Rinku, four more shadow yo-yo's burst from her other hand, replicating his other four as Soul Edge began to buzz on her hand.

She was going for the kill. These replicas wouldn't last forever, and she needed to make the most of them.

DART

Looking up, the Red Warrior grinned as a ball of energy formed in Jeice's hand. He called it a "crusher ball."

"Alright, bring it!" Dart slapped one hand against his chestplate before he slashed in the air.

A trail of flames appeared, yet they lingered. He slashed a second time, another streak appearing. The crusher ball closed in as Dart raised Heat Blade over his head, then brought it down. the third streak was vertical to the ground, and it shot outward, carrying the other two streaks with it.

They connected very quickly with the Crusher Ball, and it erupted in a brilliant explosion.

Dust and debris was kicked up from the eruption, practically filling the entire Black Castle, before a short pause was heard in the music. And suddenly-

♫♩ As the red day is dawning ♫♩

Dart rocketed out of the cloud like a jet, a boom thundering out as he flew up toward Jeice, swinging his blade heavily as he let out a war cry, ready to continue trading blows.

♫♩ And the lightning cracks the sky ♫♩

THE LOBBY

With Pit off to engage in his match, no more active contestants lingered in the lobby. It remained active, however. Either people were passed out in a mindscape mind game, were sparring in the ring, were preparing to go home, or were relaxing at Regular Restaurant. The audience, while captivated by the fights, were full of many that spoke among themselves, reconnecting or otherwise speaking with those close to them.

But as Master Hand disappeared, there was a sudden rumble. The entire lobby and the stands began to shake. Not violently enough for a major cause in alarm, but just enough the very quickly, a sudden calm fell over the entire plaza. The only sounds were the echoes of fights projected from the screens.

A calm before---

A scream ripped through the air, completely alien to the ears of those who heard it as a sudden light burst into the sky straight from the heart of the lobby. So bright, it forced most if not all to shield their eyes from its awesome glare and its ear-piercing roar.

To Jevil, it would almost appear to be a Dark Fountain... or rather, a crude imitation of one.

The light shattered into the ceiling of the plaza, smaller beams beginning to rain down from above. There was immediate pandemonium. The beams of light that struck people seemed to freeze them in place, as though caught in an array of decaying digital code, their bodies glitching out and pixelating, leaving them as mock statues.

A strange mechanical laughter rose up above the noise of the roar. It started to slow and deep, but as more and more people were consumed in the glitching light, the laughter got faster, steadily rising in pitch as a dark form slowly began to appear within the center of the fountain.

"FINalLY I-I-I... C-CAn bE..." The form spoke, voice stuttering out in its mechanical prose.

The beams of light finally ceased their rain, leaving thousands petrified in the plaza by the sudden attack, and nowhere did Master Hand appear to stop this. Little did they know- he was unable.

The fountain calmed down, turning into a shimmer as it waved upward, and the dark figure emerged from the light. Tall, robotic, and colorful. He raised his arms, turned his head around to inspect his shoulders, back, and wings. No strings...

Not a single one.

He was free.

"[BIG!]"

"[[BIG!]]"

"[[BIG!!]]"

His mechanical laughter echoed again through the plaza, his head spazzing out with each utterance from his lips, his mismatched eyes manic with what could only be described as hunger.

In one fell swoop, this mechanical menace just hijacked the BB6 tournament.

Can anybody stop him?

Welcome to...

LOBBY SPAMTON EVENT!!!

Jevil

Jevil was spinning in circles at the edge of the lobby when it happened.

A loud noise and an enormous light, ripping through the air and forcing many to turn away. Jevil's spins were stopped as he turned to this sudden, unexpected thing in wonder, and saw... a Fountain!? Had someone really created a Dark Fountain in the lobby? Wondrous! Jevil immediately began to plot his new games, when he realized something.

It was a fake. This wasn't a Dark Fountain at all.

Jevil was almost disappointed. However, he remembered what the man made of light had said- that chaos was on it's way to the world, and Master Hand couldn't stop it. Well, that giant gloved hand was nowhere to be seen, and this new thing had petrified half the lobby before Jevil had time to even summon a Devilsknife.

This was clearly what Generic Host had been talking about.

He flew over to the strange mechanical being, and began circling about the gigantic machine. "Big and small, small and big- What does it matter?" He exclaimed. "I was never that tall, tall, yet I was always free, free- free to bring Chaos, Chaos wherever I went!" At this, he descended into maniacal laughter, rapidly spinning around the giant robot and summoning a storm of Devilsknives to follow him.

"LET THE GAMES BEGIN!" He cried.

SPAMT-T-T-ToN

The sweeping decoding wave had not destroyed all, it seemed. A familiar clown danced his way around, gleeful in the eruption of chaos. The robotic figure hovered in the air at the epicenter of the clown's rounds, tailed by an expanding growth of scythes.

"WHAT THE [&$%#]"

His gyrating skull followed Jevil as he revolved.

"A DARk>NER WEARING THOSE [Rambunctious] [Fashion Threads]! IT'S THAT DAMN [[Clown Around Town]]!"

"EE..eH--AH.aAa--.HHE-hE.-..HAHH-A--"

Spamton himself seemed to be just as decoded as those his beams had afflicted. It seemed wholly the fault of something else, however. The salesman wasn't the type to become so... out of sorts. His head stopped spinning when he noticed that the decoding hadn't quite hit everyone. Jevil wasn't the only exception.

"LOOK!S LIK-K-K-KE MY ROArING [Squiggled Up]."

His mechanical laughter echoed as he raised an arm canon, which began to light up with charged energy- before he paused, and the energy dispersed.

"ACTUALLY... I-I-I-I'VE GoT [Say Hello To My]"

All around the plaza, the frozen people suddenly began to break down, their bodies meshing into code that quickly began to transform, in as little as a second, turning each decoded attendee into...

"Big Shot! Big Shot! Don't You Wanna-Wanna- Big Shot!"

Miniature Spamtons were created from the code, most people being converted into two or three, quickly filling up the lobby with spam pests, eager to make a quick buck and swindle willing hands. Any near the survivors in the plaza would begin to rush them, throwing spam mail and click bait without consent (or mercy).

Kirin
"We won't find out unless we try!"

Kirin remained insistent despite Audrey's words, watching as a talisman successfully made contact. Her Rakshasa Cleave proved effective, and coupled with the increase in attack power from the talisman, it was enough to knock her opponent away. She could see Audrey was growing frustrated.

"Consider this power a reason to listen to me!"

A blast of lightning struck the Hero's blade at that moment, storing it within as it crackled with electricity. Kirin frowned at this. Of course there had to be something else to her. Focusing for a moment, the priestess prepared to react to her opponent's next move. The stored lightning was quickly shot out at Kirin - and when it did, the Adept zipped forward, narrowly moving parallel to its arc, feeling the intense heat emanating from it. Audrey had also rushed forward, and their swords collided, perhaps faster than either fighter had expected.

The speed she carried helped Kirin hold her own against Audrey's swing, though she'd quickly lose that advantage if she wasn't careful. Gritting her teeth, the Battle Priestess made to swiftly slap a talisman onto her opponent's sword, before quickly swinging upward, leaping off the ground. This was her Tensho Slash, a strong rising attack that had surprising power behind it.

Cayman had once called it a Dragon Punch. Hmm...

ZedΩ
Echoes of faded memories.

Blasts of crimson lightning. Swirling gusts of wind. A void beyond cracks in reality. Faces from across the multiverse reaching out towards hope. The events of the deadly competition flowed through his mind like a river as he looked on towards the group, his senses dulled--

An ear-piercing scream shook the prince from his trance, and what he saw emerging from the lobby left him speechless. A burst of light, shimmering as it extended skyward, splitting off into thousands of smaller beams that rained upon the stands. Serpentine was the first to act, a burst of thick mist pouring out from her body, obscuring their location, though she was unsure if it'd even help.

"This is what I sensed... Take cover!"

The beams began to impact, decoding all that they touched. Barriers manifested around each member of ATEMS, courtesy of Zed's Septima - but they couldn't withstand the corruptive attack. Grazie and Sistina were quickly struck down, their screams echoing in unison with the rest of the crowd. Grabbing Layla and holding her close, a fiery wing burst from Zed's back, granting him flight as he took off, blasts of flame moving to intercept each incoming beam to no avail.

Another beam snuck past, reaching Serpentine. Zed forced himself to not look back as he held onto Layla, weaving in between the rain of attacks. What was going on? What was the cause of this? The barrage was nearly too much to handle, and when he thought he'd cleared them all, another beam came from an unexpected angle, and as it neared--

Prado leapt in the way of the attack, letting her body take the hit as she was sent falling back down to the stands.

"S-S-Sir Zed, my lady-y-y..." She called out, voice growing filled with static and glitches. "You mu-u-ust survi-i-ve-e-e---"

The initial wave of attacks finally ended. Zed frowned as he looked down, Layla in tow. This was entirely unexpected... but was there a way to fix things? Scanning across the stands, he saw nothing but a petrified sea, which quickly turned into miniature versions of Spamton. Touching down in the lobby itself, he let go of his companion, who was visibly terrified by this development, tears welling up in her eyes.

"Layla..." the prince muttered, glancing back and forth between the girl and the massive machine that was now in the lobby. "I know that you're scared, but we have no time to waste. You must remain strong. I will go take care of that abomination however I can. But I will need your support."

With a sniffle, Layla nodded. She waved a hand aside, oversized sleeve hanging in the air as a slight breeze filled the desolate stands. Next to Zed, a small moon appeared. It glowed a bright yellow, but it quickly glitched out, splitting into different sections, and as it did, a cybernetic woman appeared before it. Her skin was a light brown, with red eyes and light blonde hair similar to Layla's. She wore a purple costume with various mauve and gold highlights, a blue-pink veil falling down behind her head, its starting point being a headpiece resembling rabbit ears.

"Luxia."

Despite the grim situation, the woman giggled. "You can count on me," The Djinn spoke. "My song shall guide you. Why don't we go teach that thing some manners?"

A familiar song filled Zed's hears as Luxia began to sing, and he felt a surge of power wash over him. The Djinn was able to empower an Adept's capabilities in battle by resonating with them through the power of song. A highly coveted ability, yet one that the prince didn't rely on often. This situation was dire enough that he deemed it necessary. Zed's wing shined brightly as he turned towards Spamton's direction, where the source of this chaos was. He looked back to Layla, who nervously took cover inside a nearby shop, which was now abandoned - Regular Magecraft.

"Stay safe."

He was off after that, Zed and Luxia soaring through the air, leaving a shining trail of scarlet and violet. As they flew high overhead the wave of mini Spamtons, flocks of flaming birds spawned in the prince's wake, dropping down to set the fodder ablaze. Nearing the towering salesman and his far smaller jester ally, the prince's brow furrowed. This would be far from an easy bout.

Keeping his speed up, Zed flew in a wide arc around Spamton and Jevil. Just like before, flocks of fire birds were left where he passed, darting over to their clear targets. He needed to test their durability. Gauge everything with utmost care.

He would be a ray of light bursting through the encroaching darkness.

Jevil

"UEEE HEE HEE!" Jevil laughed. This was going to be fun. It had only just begun, and a man had begun spinning around and throwing flaming bird at them! So much better than a one-on-one duel. Jevil chose to save his Devilsknives for later, and countered the birds of flame with diamonds- he span around the giant machine, throwing diamond after diamond after diamond at the birds.

Once the birds had been dealt with, there was still the spinning man. "Chaos, Chaos, catch me if you can!" He cried, before summoning several rings of spades around the center of the lobby- but these spades were not pointing inward, but pointing outward! The spades launched themselves outward, covering much of the airspace of the lobby, but leaving the ground to the mini-Spamtons.

In the meantime, Jevil's tail of Devilsknives was growing longer and longer. Jevil was clearly putting a lot of effort into summoning them... but for what?

SP-P-PAMTON T-T0n

Despite Jevil's ring of defense and diamond barrage, Zed's attack came from everywhere in an endless multitude, and much of it converged on the automaton as it hovered limp in the air, head still jerking this way and that. For a moment, Spamton became engulfed in the firebirds, vanishing from sight as they struck with Zed's empowerment.

"HOLY [Cun-][Cun-][Cungadero]! WHAT THE [Pretty Duckies] WAS THAT-THaT-THA-A>-A"

Out of the smoke, the robot's head emerged- and it didn't stop. His head was growing larger and larger, dwarfing the cloud of smoke generated by the impact, growing large enough that it reached the orbit of scythes. Spamton's head swiveled to face Zed, regardless of where he was once Jevil's initial response was concluded.

"wA-WANT A_ [Spicy Meatball]!?"

His mouth hung wide and agape, before a beam of energy expelled outward from his throat, wide enough it could have engulfed all of ATEMS had they been shoulder-to-shoulder with their beloved leader.

After the initial blast, Spamton closed his mouth as smoke drifted between his lips- and then the barrage came as he grinned. Projectiles spun out toward Zed in a wild craze from the robot's eyes, nose, and teeth. An effective bullet hell as he tracked Zed with his attack, mechanical laughter ringing out in tandem with Jevil's more crazed giggling.

Master of Tasks
The runt was dragged away, and a child not much older took his place. He chose an overgrown arena, which altered the SHIELD Helicarrier with thick vegetation. The angel opened by procuring his bow and firing an onslaught of light arrows. The Taskmaster had his shield out, which he raised, but quickly noticed how the arrow curved in the air, and so he moved to block it. He continued moving the shield to intercept the arrows as he approached Pit. He did not want to have to fight a child, but if he had to for this tournament, he would.

Marshtomp
Marshtomp maintained his dopey grin, seemingly not quite following with Sans's wordplay and irony, but enjoying his presence nonetheless. He moved towards the skeleton door and placed his hand on it, but would look towards the skeleton for confirmation before pushing it open.

Kragggggg
The Spartan blocked the rocks, and then attempted to antagonize the Earth's Bastion. Kragg may have been simple, but he was stoic against insults just as well as compliments. He grabbed the stump of the pillar he shattered, and pulled it up from the ground to hurl a boulder at Kassandra. As she had let up in her attacks to insult him, he took the opportunity to charge at the woman again.

???
A small, blue-cloaked robot weaved through the crowd, holding a cup of soda as he made his way up towards the front. He struggled to peek over the railing, and watched as the last of the fighters as they filed into their portals. The fights of this tournament were exciting- much moreso than the tournament he had attended.

Tabby's eyes flickered up towards the screens that showcased the battle and tried to press the straw of his drink to his face, but failed because his mouth wasn't real.

" :/ "

Then, shit hit the fan. A screaming column of light savagely ripped through the center of the plaza, heralding a rain of energy that paralyzed and corrupted anyone it struck. The tablet acted quickly, and zipped through the legs of others to avoid a decoded fate. The barrage ended as soon as it began, just as the robot had made it to the stairwell.

From there, he had a clear view of the wreaked havoc. Nearly everyone in the plaza was trapped in a shell of black pixels slowly deteriorating. The perpetrator was a massive puppetine robot that had risen from the ground, and a clown flew up to join him. The mass of the paralyzed characters was used to create an of miniature clones in the plaza. A human flew from the stands to stand against the growing threat- and Tabby moved to join him.

He rushed forth, and procured an electric shuriken in his hand. The tablet had a look of focus on his face, as the electrical charge on the shuriken grew stronger by the second. He bounded off the railing, and, as he soared over the surging tide of Spamtons, he held the shuriken above his head. At the zenith of his arc, lightning split the sky with a resounding boom to announce his presence as a threat to the acolytes of freedom and supercharging the throwing star. Tabby descended, and he threw the star, which shattered upon impact to release a blast of chain lightning that swept across a large chunk of the salesperson horde. Any Spam Mini that the electricity touched would be stunned for several seconds

His hand then went to his sheathed katana, which he unsheathed, twirled once, and then resheathed. Tabby landed on top of one of the stunned salesmen, and after one moment more and a satisfying ding, he burst into action. Faster than the eye could register, the robot ninja zig-zagged through the army. He tore through all the puppets that came within blade's reach as he went- headed towards the big boss in the center.

Ryuji
Skull perked up a little at Nott's words.
"Well, we gave it our best shot at least. Apparently even our leader couldn't win, and he's one of the most badass guys I know."
Skull took a moment to mull over Nott's question.
"I'unno. I guess-ngh!"
Ryuji cut off as he was almost blinded by a brilliant light. The phantom thief covered his eyes with his arm, blinking furiously as his vison came back to show the plaza in complete pandemonium. People were reduced into glitchy messes as bless attacks rained from above, including over the brute and princess!
"Shit! Watch out!" Ryuji yelled, roughly shoving Nott out of the way. The teen was bathed in light, which faded to reveal the Ryuji frozen, stuck in the same glitchy hell.

Magolor
After his defeat, the egg mage had taken to what looked like a stand of his own making, intensely working on what looked like a shield made of shimmering material. Beside him was a pile of weapons and potions. Now that using the reward was out of the question, Magolor had to find other ways to show off his stuff. And what better way would that be than to show them off here, maybe even sell some to the fighters! After taking a good look at Dart's armor set, he was just brimming with ideas! The Shopkeeper might find a problem with that, but Magolor would deal with that later. What's a few gem apples for interdimensional sales?
The human loudmouth wasn't making it easy however, with his constant yelling. Magolor considered moving, or shutting him up personally, but he wouldn't want to ruin the surprise until he was done working. Thankfully, some green haired lady came up to him, and he quieted down. Now he could focus on his-
Mechanical laughter, beams of light. Never a dull moment here. What was this, anyway? A test?
Irritably, Magolor looked up as his surroundings were getting razed. With a flick of the wrist, Magolor threw the shield he had been working on into one of the light beams. But to his surprise, the shield reduced to code in an instant. The egg saw as the same happened to the loudmouth, and his eyes shrank in terror.
"Nope!"
Now thoroughly aware of the danger, Magolor swirled his hand, and briefly disappeared from this dimension. Unfortunately, he had to leave his wares to the same fate of his shield. Now that was the last straw.
Magolor burst back into reality as Spamton's initial assault petered own, wearing his rarely used game face. From a rune he created, fire magic swelled and danced around the egg, intertwining until they formed the shape of a serpent-like monster! With so many projectiles above, Magolor opted to attack from below. With the egg mounted on it, The Monster Flame roared as it rushed in, blitzing past any Mini Spamtons in the way of its fiery vengeance towards Spamton NEO.

Lucario
Lucario's projectile hit, though it obviously wasn't very effective despite NiGHTS' theatrics.
The aura pokemon hopped up to the bridge, meeting NiGHT's laughter with quiet attention. She did appear to ready for an actual fight, however, prompting Lucario to do the same.
His opponent used the arena do her advantage, slamming down with enough for to send the bridge wobbling upward. The sudden shift caught Lucario by surprise, but he went with the flow and bounced up, before quickly propelling himself to slam back down with his full weight, harshly jerking up the platform on NiGHTS' end to give a good smack from below.

Pit
Taskmaster's shield worked well against the arrows, slowly approaching Pit, who stepped backward at an equal pace.

"Doesn't look like your shots will be getting through that. Try using melee."

Heeding his goddess' advice, the angel began to move forward, maintaining his fire to keep his opponent busy. Then, in a split, Pit would dash forward, Palutena Bow disappearing in favor of his Tiger Claws. He swiped at Taskmaster with both claws as he passed by, before going for a five-hit melee combo ending in another double slash of the claws aimed at the man's back.

ZedΩ
The jester's response came first, a barrage of outward facing diamonds intercepting some of Zed's birds, though many still slipped past and into the massive body of Spamton NEO. What followed was an outward burst of spades, their numbers enough to occupy almost the entire airspace. A flash of crimson burst from the prince's hand, and a flaming blade took form in front of him, spinning in front of its wielder's body to protect him, swatting away any spades that came close.

As Zed and Luxia soared through the air, the larger robot's head turned to face them, locking onto their position. It didn't take a genius to know he was preparing an attack of his own, so as Spamton prepared to fire, Zed slowed down momentarily, focusing his Septima for his next move. Spamton's mouth opened--

FWOOSH!

A large beam of energy burst from him, and at the same time, Zed dashed to the side with a big burst of speed, leaving scarlet afterimages in his wake. This placed him at the edge of the blast, a translucent golden-violet forcefield enveloping the prince as the powerful energy washed over him. The defense was a mix of Golden Trillion and The Djinn, proving just durable enough to withstand the initial blast, though he could hear Luxia's singing become a little more strained as she assisted him. She simply wasn't as experienced with such techniques. Her forte was always empowerment and recon.

The blast dissipated, as did the forcefield - but Spamton was not yet done, firing a myriad of projectiles from his eyes, nose, and teeth. The display was incredibly wild and unpredictable, keeping Zed on his toes as he made to weave in between each shot. It proved a difficult task, however, as the more complex trajectory of the teeth shots earned a couple hits on the prince. The Adept was knocked off course, dropping lower to the ground, but he remained airborne, wing still shining brightly. Luxia's support was very much helpful in that, no doubt.

"A theme of cards and malware, is it? Very well. Allow me to show you the might of a king!"
Bathe the world in dazzling light
Bring forth the swelling spirit of rebellion
Mine arrow is at the heart, piercing forth

"Lux Ballista!"

Zed waved an arm in front of him, and with a snap of his fingers, a large golden bow materialized in front of him. A series of equally large glowing arrows were nocked into it, and as its energy string pulled back, the arrows shot forward, aimed for each feature of Spamton NEO's face!

Luxia's singing continued to reach his ears, and the Golden Trillion took note of a flash of lightning and a slithering wave of flame coming from afar. Perhaps he had allies lying in wait...

SPAMMAIL!

Through the puppet's barrage, Zed prevailed, forming his own counter as golden arrows streaked forth to impact the massive face of the salesman. While there was no recoil, or physical reaction, his eyes, nose, and teeth began to chip with each impact, before the attack ended and his head shrunk back down to its normal size. One final lux arrow slammed into his face, sending his head spinning wildly. Spamton brought up a hand and stopped his head, grinning at Zed.

"ALWAYS H-H_hAVE tO [Murder] AN AUTHENTIC [[Big Shot!]] LIKE YOU-U!" He cackled, but at the approach of two others, the robot paused, head jerking to watch the approach. Lightning and flames heralding support not for Spamton, like Jevil had proven to be, but instead for Zed. They were tearing through the horde of spammers, the miniature Spamtons that were successfully defeated erupting into rampant code that appeared to disperse.

"[Wow!] THO-THo-ThOSE [Sega Fans] SURE ARE FAST! WHAT_t IS THIS, AN [Intervention]? SURE HOPE THEY DON'T DESTROY ALL OF MY [Mini-Me!] THAT-T-T's THE [[Source Of My Power!!]]"

A sudden HeartShapedObject burst from Spamton's chest, the heart bearing his face as it made a miniature cackle as it lunged far out from Spamton, connecting to a thick chain, before wild blasts of electricity fired out from the heart in rapid intervals, flinging in every direction but Jevil's, headed for Zed, Magolor, and Tabby.

KASSANDRA

To be honest, it was impossible to tell if her taunt had actually done anything. Kragg seemed indifferent, but his response was to hurl a boulder her way. Thinking quickly, Kassandra leapt up, reaching the top of the boulder's height, and as it sailed beneath her, she kicked off of it, launching herself even higher as she launched a few more arrows toward Kragg. He particularly didn't seem to like those, so that's what she went for. It wasn't clear if he knew what the Ghost Arrow looked like, having been tucked into a ball, but if he didn't, there was a possibility he could think of any one of her arrows bypassing his thick armor.

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
Rinku

Shadows erupted from the target of his onslaught. Wincing with one eye, he recalled his weapons back to him, unsure if they had hit their mark or what exactly had happened. As light returned, it seemed Irnane had a copy of her own knife and...her own yo-yos? A cheap copying technique? Rinku had to keep himself from openly scoffing at the audacity.

While she could copy the abilities and techniques...She lacked the sheer experience with them. He had triple digits to his years with handling these things, that's not something that could simply be replicated!

Rinku focused on puppeteering his Yo-yos, giving them proper commands as the ducked and wove to evade Irnane's own yo-yos. Due to how Ki worked, Irnane lacked the demon Ki pumping through her own body to make them move snappily, allowing him to not only outpace them by specifications, but with technique as well.

"Is making worse replications of what I got the only way you can stay in the game??"

So as Irnane's yo-yos swept in to smash his, they were outmaneuvered as they coiled around each string at the neck of each yo-yo. And with a burst of paralyzing pink energy and the sound buzzing-

SNAP!

The shadow strings would all break apart on their respective dark Yo-Yos. And one minute amateur couldn't stand up to a Yo-Yo master. Rinku let out a fit of laughter.

"That was your lamest attempt yet! Don't you know that anyone can Yo-Yo, but it takes skill and experience to use one well??"

Having her Yo-Yo defenses declawed, they smashed into the ground removing the structural integrity of the side she was on...the ground ahead of her had snapped, leading to the foothold she was on to crumble! She'd soon be joining the skeleton down below.

NiGHTS

Using their springboard up to fuel their descent, slamming down on the bridge and flipping the script on NiGHTS, who was flung upwards as a result. Flying out of control for a second, the jester caught themselves right before they flew into some adjacent monkey bars, gripping the jungle gym components with their hands. Looking diagonally back down at Lucario, she smiled and nodded.

"You think quick on your feet, I see ol' blue was right about you!" They beamed. "No wonder you made it this far. So I'm not gonna pull my punches!"

With a quick movement of the legs, a small paraloop activated at the base of the bars they gripped. The paraloop snapped the connection with the rest of the ladder as the purple nightmaren severed it entirely, wielding the pipe and smacking it down towards Lucario overhead.

Chai

"Huh??"

It seemed this whole tourney thing took a heel turn, as odd glitched laughter that gave him a headache grew louder, even Jevil getting involved and bolting outside to join in on the chaos. As flames, spades, and bullets rang out outside. Chai stiffly slid into a booth.

"Uh...yeah. Think I can stay here for a little bit longer. Hey uh, chef? Got any fries while I wait?"

As an explosion rang out on a building nearby and the building shaking, Chai pretended everything was gonna be okay through all of this. As one of those mini spamtons looked through a window of the shop, he quickly folded out a menu to try and block his face from being seen.

Specter

"Hm."

From the stands, he was listening in to various conversations, his chair's audio filtering picking out each voice as he attempted to garner information. However, that's when he witnessed the chaos start to break out amongst the plaza. He hadn't selected a fight to watch and for good reason. The isotopes were finally beginning to degrade. Looking at the power levels that a device in his chair was emitting from his armrest, he nodded. It was time to go.

As the device's fuel decayed, he took a look around the plaza scene, noting how spamton rose up, the bizarre AI-being took charge, breaking no doubt all sorts of rules. Specter's image flickered, slowly losing it's tangibility.

His infiltration of what was referred to as 'Bootleg Bros 4' was a success, and claimed vital assets. And now, in this iteration he was able to hone in on not just where this tourney took place. But when.

He had messed with time travel many times before. However, it was always on human technological standards. This time, he had created a device using several tips he took from the dimensional scheme, even creating a physical substance to fuel it. In case he were taken prisoner or found out, he was still anchored to his original time, and when isotope would decay, would slingshot him back to his original time-space. A failsafe that he believed even the hand wouldn't predict.

"Farewell, and may this be the last tourney."

With that, Specter's form faded, disappearing from the stands altogether and being rubber banded back to his own time and space.

.
..
...
....

The bridge of his own ship faded into view, the transparency fading until it took full form around him as he was once again fully placed in his reality. Near his spot, his tall second in command stood, crossing their arms. Not looking in Specter's direction, the metallic furred being addressed him.

"Well? Did you have fun?"

"Would be lying if I said it wasn't pleasant to meet some old faces." Specter mused, looking out the window of the ship to a cloudy day ahead of them. "But I got what I needed at the end of the day."

"Do tell."

"Were you aware that there's a death tournament going on right at this very moment? One in which is off the books even by Master Hand's standards. One in which death battles are waged to find the last one standing? Evidently, a few will escape. A particular one...Eitri, becoming something of a dimension hopping revolutionary."

"How is that relevant?

"Because, J." Specter pressed buttons on his chair. "She was kind enough to give me a detailed list of some that were there. Some of those names...seem rather odd. Bowser, an E-Series unit, and man called Zed, which if our reports are right, match a similar energy source to the adepts we marked in Sumeragi territory."

J turned his head to Specter, his sharp yellow eyes looking deeper into what the albino simian had to say.

"Oh?"

"It's quite interesting. Most of the incoming powers setting up shop were seen in some capacity in the the Death Tournament. But they would retain no memory of what they saw...until that memory is reawakened somehow."

"So then even now without the Nexus, those two buffoons still meddle with the lives of others - just now they prohibit memory of the incident."

"Exactly. And from the data I've acquired, from the start of each match, the processing power of those machines to handle creating such a detailed space...I think it lead me to a breakthrough. I'm planning on reigniting verdant seed protocol."

There was silence. J looking forward, his expression not betraying a hint of emotion on their face.

"You'd really go to such lengths?"

"I don't know about you, J, but I for one believe everyone should be the master of their own destinies. I say it's about time we level the playing field. Krak is about to have his hands full."

Closing their eyes, the stoic J understood the impact of that particular plan. While not ecstatic about it himself, would never let such a thought escape his mouth so carelessly.

"I suppose even this way....will be interesting."

Jevil

As Spamton had what appeared to be a violent heart attack (in more ways than one), and more foes began to rush out from the stands in order to join the fun, Jevil decided that now was the perfect time to deploy some tricks he had learned from fighting Dagr. It would be fun, he thought, if our hearts fought together!

"OUR HEARTS GO OUT TO ALL YOU SINNERS!" Exclaimed the mad jester, before launching a dozen Heartsmissiles across the lobby! Six of the missiles headed towards Zed, while the other half-dozen charged at the robot Tabby. When the missiles were deployed, Jevil began scattering unguided Heartsgrenades across the lobby, which would explode and launch a spread of hearts at whoever was closest.

It feels like a whirlwind.

Eitri

"Eitri?"

There was recognition in Masaru's eyes. The sage grinned, and nodded.
"You do remember. Wonderful." Eitri said. "How curious that you had forgotten. But perhaps it was because you were defeated."
The holograms from the eye vanished, and it floated back into its place. Eitri looked Masaru up and down once more.

"I'm glad I was able to reach you before you decided to leave. Unfortunately, I was unable to speak with Sonic before he disappeared to wherever he went off to." Eitri said. She looked out into the plaza, then glanced back to Masaru. "Ah, that's right. He was also a fighter there, I'm not sure if you recall. But if both you and Sonic are here, I'm willing to bet that there are others-"

"Eitri." Byleth nudged the sage. While Eitri had been speaking to Masaru, the mercenary had gotten the feeling they were being watched. She pointed out the one who had spotted them. One that Eitri recognized.

Zed.

Eitri looked to Zed, her grin growing in a smile of pointed teeth. She waved to the prince, and the disk on her left arm turned. The disk now bore the symbol of a bird, and with a flick of Eitri's wrist, a raven of green magic appeared in the palm of her hand. It flew up into the air, and vanished.

Before Eitri could wave to Zed for the prince to approach her, there was chaos in the plaza. A burst of light and energy struck the stands! Byleth drew her sword, but neither her nor Ótr were able to react as they were petrified. Eitri attempted to raise her shields, blocking some of the rays from her and totally sheilding Masaru. She gasped in pain, staggering back and falling down. This sensation... This wasn't death. It was something else.

Eitri's form began to glitch and freeze, and while she still could, the sage drew something from her pocket.
"Masaru..." Eitri croaked. She opened her hand, revealing an emblem of burning flame. It shot towards the fighter, disappearing into his chest. For a moment, Masaru was cloaked in flames, but they vanished.

Conferred Flame Blessing!
Masaru's HP Increased!

"Stop the source, Masaru." Eitri said. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Zed had survived this strange energy attack as well. Eitri scowled. Damn... to put her fate in the likes of Masaru and Zed... she hoped their fates wouldn't be the same as they were in the Dimension Games. With the last of her energy, Eitri extended a hand to Masaru. The disk on her left arm twisted, revealing the symbol of wind. A blast of wind struck Masaru, launching the fighter back into the plaza. Right before he was about to hit the ground, a sudden gust of wind caught him and dropped him safely.

With that, Eitri transformed into code and vanished.

Dagr

In an impressive feat of athleticism for someone so massive, Warlock leapt from one platform to another. Dagr stuck out her tongue and ran after Warlock, jumping to the other side's lower platform after Warlock.

"Boo! Didn't realize we were playing tag!" Dagr said. The psionic energy flowed out of Warlock, striking Sun-Wing.
I implore you to aid me... Warlock's voice spoke in Sun-Wing's mind. The massive bird blinked as psionic energy swirled around it's head.

Help... Warlock...

Attack Dagr.

WHAT!?

Instantly, the psionic energy surrounding Sun-Wing's head dissipated. The massive bird screeched angrily. This monster, this creature demanded that he attack Dagr?! His dearest companion and friend, since his hatching from his egg?! If Dagr wasn't going to kill this monstrosity, he would peck their eyes out himself!!!

Dagr swung her ax at Warlock as she landed on the platform, attempting to score a hit across his chest.

Suddenly, the doors to the elevator behind the fighters opened. There was a flash of light, and the platforms they were standing on vanished. The room they were in was different. It was a black room, with nothing in it. Suddenly, the wall behind the fighters lit up like a projector was illuminating it. The light depicted a man in white bellbottom pants, a red jacket with massive flares, and a large blue afro dancing. In front of the fighters, a strange blue sphere appeared. It had a grin and mustache on it, and a long fuse leading up to it. The fuse was rapidly burning away!

TAUNT!

A voice spoke the word, and it appeared in the air above the fighters. Dagr glanced up to it, then back to Warlock.
"Nyah, nyah! What, you forget I'm your opponent or something? You're supposed to be the champion of your people? More like the champion of losers!" Dagr taunted.

Jeice

Dart was able to intercept his Crusher Ball with attacks of is own, a flurry of three flaming slashes. A massive explosion rocked the castle, sending up a cloud of dust.

Dart launched himself out of the cloud of dust, slashing at Jeice with his heat blade. Jeice quickly flew to the side at the last moment, allowing Dart to fly past him.

♫♩ They'll raise their hands to the heavens above
with resentment in their eyes ♫♩

Right. With his sword out, Dart was just that little bit slower. Jeice attempted to take advantage of his greater speed and agility in the air. He flew behind Dart, attempting to stay on the warrior's backside and pummel him from behind with punches and kicks!

Nótt

Ryuji's comments caught Nótt's interest. His leader couldn't win? The leader of the Phantom Thieves was here in the tournament? Or perhaps he was talking about an earlier tournament. Before Nótt could ask Ryuji about that, there was a sudden blast of light.

"Shit! Watch out!" Ryuji violently shoved Nótt out of the way as a powerful attack landed nearby. Moon-Wing protected the princess, but when she looked back... Ryuji was frozen. In fact, nearly everyone was frozen. The source was a massive creature, one that almost reminded Nótt of a mannequin.

Others emerged as chaos descended. A man in pink hair, with a burning wing and a starry, tan woman flew through the air. Nótt watched as Zed bombarded Spamton with a variety of attacks. An egg-like creature appeared, attacking Spamton with a massive serpent of flame! A strange jester creature flew around Spamton, sending projectiles every and all directions!

But there was no time to watch for long. Those that were petrified were quickly changing. Nótt watched as they transformed into miniature versions of the massive giant, flying around and attacking. Many quickly noticed Nótt.

The princess took in the chaos, standing up straighter. Not once did her noble expression show any sign of fear or rage. Just serene calmness.

Nótt exploded into action. Using her lance, she quickly struck down Miniature Spamton after miniature Spamton. Heart bombs exploded all around her, but Moon-Wing was quick to protect his princess from oncoming projectiles and explosions. Slowly, Nótt cut her way through the crowds of Spam towards the base of Spamton.

Electricity crackled, striking around Nótt from the Neo Spamton, and Nótt was quick to dodge. It seemed Spamton's focus was on the others at the moment.

The energy around Nótt's lance glowed, and she called upon her Dragon Fang attack! A powerful energy blast in the form of a Dragon launched itself towards Neo Spamton!

Yami Bakura

The players began investigating the areas they were in. Neph and Rex approached the northwest door, the wooden one. It swung open, revealing a room of stone brick, much like the rest of the maze. It was illuminated by a pair of torches. At the end of the room, an old man in a brown cloak sat. He looked up at the appearance of Neph and Rex, and smiled through the many wrinkles on his face. Above the old man, there was a carving of a stone key in the wall.

"Greetings, travelers." The old man said. He gestured in front of him, revealing a pair of potions. One was a bubbling purple potion, with purple steam rising from it. The other was a bubbling green potion, with green steam rising from it.
"Choose one to drink, and the first key will be yours." The old man said.

Marshtomp attempted to push open the skeleton door, only for it to not budge. The skeleton door appeared to be locked.

Audrey Redheart
As the blades clashed, sparks flew off, and Audrey called out again.
"Don't be so stupid! Villain's like the one you mean won't get stopped until the climax of their plan, anyway!"

It was speed against power, and that made the Hero and the Battle Priestess evenly matched. Audrey hadn't expected that, at least not entirely, and her talking distracted her as Kirin placed a talisman on her sword. Luckily (Or, perhaps, unluckily), Audrey was not distracted enough to not see Kirin's blade turn to swing upwards, and was able to block accordingly, though not only did she get brought into the air from the momentum anyway, but her grip loosened on her sword by the powerful blow.

Had a certain puppet not been acting, surely a certain martial artist watching would give a thumbs up.

Still, Audrey shook it off, quickly swinging back down on Kirin in mid-air like a hammer, before quickly shooting back down to the ground herself thanks to her weapon's weight. Sliding back, she growled once she regained her footing.

"Look, Kirin, Don't be dumb, I'm trying to make sure you don't get yourself killed pointlessly." Audrey tried to reason, though even she wasn't wholly sure it was the truth herself, or a lie. "If it's such a big deal, why not ask Master Hand?"

The Warlock
As the mind-control was quickly shook off at the obscene order, Warlock frowned...somehow even more than normal.
"Hmph, high willpower...Or animalistic stupidity and 'loyalty'." He said outloud, before scowling as he sidestepped Dagr's ax just barely on time, knowing what to expect there given his own 'Sister' in the Assassin.

But before he could retaliate with a blast from his weapon of choice, there was a bright flash and they were transported to some black room past the elevator. He quickly noticed the little details of the room, the power of an all-seeing eye of course.

TAUNT!

And what a simple task for one who loved the sound of his own voice.
"You're but a gnat beneath me, to be squashed into nothingness. Perhaps, if I were to face your sister, I'd have a real fight." He returned the taunt, though his eye clearly ticked at Dagr's own.

Not even waiting for this...event, to end. He quickly fired his Disrupter Rifle straight at Dagr, aiming to take advantage of the close range shot.

Masaru Takahara
"Yeah, I'm glad I remember too - No idea what happened, after the flames it's all blank, and then back home." The martial artist quickly explained to Eitri, before nodding as she explained the situation with Sonic.
"Yeah, I saw him on the brackets, thought there was something familiar..." Masaru began to say, before the strange lady interupted the conversation to point out the pink-haired one watching.

"Zed..." For a second, the anger returned, but Masaru managed to quell it again when he saw Eitri smile. Perhaps he'd missed something...

But he couldn't think on it further, because suddenly a burst of energy struck! The Strongest looked on in horror as the black-cloaked swordswoman and Ótr were petrified, and Eitri barely managed to protect him despite being struck herself. He quickly dove forward to catch the sage before her head could hit the ground.
"Don't worry, I..." Before he could assure Eitri things would be fine, the emblem emblazened itself within his chest. Before he could do anything else, he was told to stop the source of the attacks, and a gust of wind sent him flying back into the plaza, before turning him before he could hit the ground, allowing him to land on his feet.

"I'll try, Kid." Masaru muttered, putting his hand to his chest for a second as he took out a set of wraps, quickly putting them on with an orange glow around his hands.

Jumping back to avoid a wild blast of electricity, he shot his eyes around the arena, taking in the situation. Zed was still fighting - As much as he didn't like that guy, he had to admit he was tough, respectable. Looked like Nótt was also fighting, among a bunch of others.

As for his foes, twofold; The jester guy, Masaru recalled his name as "Jevil", and some weird...thing. Whatever it was, it seemed to be the bigger threat, probably the main perpetrator.

Masaru began to dash forward, using raw might to kick and punch through many of the Miniature...things, floating around. But as he took a Heartbomb to the chest, something he was able to take rather easily, he turned his attention back to Jevil.
"I'll show you the only sinner here..." He murmured under Jevil's own call.

Worldbreaker's Wrath!
The Warrior leapt into the air with the might of a mountain behind him, before slamming into the ground of the plaza, cratering it and sending large rocks flying upwards. Some struck at the Mini-Spamtons in the air, but the majority went to get in the way or Jevil's Heartmissiles and the Heartgrenades going towards the other survivors. Masaru knew he'd probably miss quite a few, the distance was too large, but he could make things easier.

It was then what had done, assumedly by Spamton, truly hit him as he looked over the Mini-Spamtons ahead.
All those people...

"YOU BASTARD!"

Takahara began to run forward again, knocking down as many mini-spamtons as he could on his way towards Spamton, dodging what attacks he could but tanking many. Whatever that Emblem Eitri gave him was, it was certainly improving his durability. He leapt once again, not as powerful, attempting to a land a melee blow to Spamton!
Celestial Palm!
His palm struck out towards the lower end of Spamton's body, cunning enough to strike even through into Spamton's inner...whatever he had on the inside. Meanwhile, his leg came up to follow up with a quick roundhouse kick before Masaru could land back on the ground.
