"Ah yeah, that's a good idea, we can finish our conversation on the way there," Alex acknowledged. "Growlithe, Espeon, I trust you'll follow me into the car?" Growlithe barked excitedly. This adventure was a lot less scary than she thought it'd be. Espeon, still laying comfortably in the corner on one of his hosts' pillows, opened one eye and looked at Alex. Alex took that as a yes.
He turned his attention back to Azumi. "Good question," Alex praised, pleased that Azumi was interested in his explanation. "Not counting atypical pokemon, such as those who evolve via a stone, like growlithes, or via major life changes, like kadabras, pokemon evolve after having enough experience in battle. Or," he added with a laugh, "in Nana's case, experience in dance."
"Usually, this is related to age. The older you are, the more experience you have, right? Nana's still so childish probably because she evolved earlier than most pokemon usually do, because she dances more often than most pokemon battle." Alex began to feel a tinge of excitement as an idea crossed his mind. "This might be a great alternative to battling for pokemon whose trainers who are unable or unwilling to lead them in battle... I mean, this could really change lives for the better. Would you mind keeping me updated on Nana? I'm curious to see if this can be replicated in other pokemon. Right now, my major concern is that I'm wondering if this is genetic. Do you know anything about her parents or siblings?"
