Shui hovered right above the hole. "Anything else before I leave? Anything at all?" she asked, not wanting to climb all the way back up.
Stella looked at Star, nodded, then flew off, Star following her. Once they got to a place that was out of earshot they landed and Stella said, "So, you are not going to say 'hello' or 'how do you do', even though it has been over a year?"
"I'm terribly sorry Stella, but there were more important things to say. I hope that you understand." Star replied calmly, her eyes closing as she gave a quick bow when she sat on the hard earth.
"Oh, ok!" Stella said, excited that Star didn't forget about her, "Well, then after we get done here, are you coming back at Lunarstone?"
Star shook her head. "I cannot return. I'm the Deathborn. You know what will happen if I go back," she answered.
Stella started to pace. "Maybe not," she thought aloud, "We could give you a new name and say you are my cousin from outside of Lunarstone. It is genius! I mean, it-"
"No Stella," Star interrupted, "I must live with the fact that I can't go back. Even this little plan of yours won't work. Even though it is genius."
"You just want to run away again!" Stella yelled, her bottled-up anger releasing all at once, "I mean that is what you did last time! You left me! No warnings, no goodbyes, no nothing! Then I find out that you are galavanting about with some Skycats from outside of the Empire, an Empire that you helped create! And you want to get rid of it now! And you shut me out! I wanted to help you after what happened with Night, and you shut me out! Some friend you are! You know what, I-I-IHATEYOU!"
Star looked stunned and angry. Stella wanted her to yell back, to make it justified, but Star instead calmed herself and said, "Well, I don't. May your wings be filled with wind, Stella. I guess I will see you after I get done helping Sol."
Stella looked down at her paws at what she had said. She never meant it. It just came out. Stella flew back to the others with a heavy heart.
