Private/Closed Exploration of the Froena Region

Halt arrived from the the teleportation, and felt dizzy. He toughed through it, knowing not to show weakness. Seeing how Luke bowed to the guy, he looked at him. "So, you must be Sire, am I right? What do you want with me, being how I was forcefully betaken a direct route against my will?"

"You would do well to watch your tone," the King warned, his voice old but strong. "But what is this I hear about being here against your will?" he asked, his gaze on Luke.

"The boy wanted to walk here, my King. While this would be more for his comfort, if we cannot trust him we would do well to keep our home secret," Luke explained while standing from his bow.

"An intelligent idea from you without my prompting? I'm both surprised and proud, Luke," the King said with an almost patronizing smile. Luke didn't seem to care about his tone, though, as he smiled brightly from the praise. This was way there were two third in commands. The king could control Luke better and Luke had more raw strength but he was all brawn and very little brain. The king knew that if he were to pass unexpectedly, Darla was the only one of the two with enough brainpower to succeed him. But if his plan for his second in command worked, she would he more than ready to lead after he left this world. There were just a few things left for her to learn...

"That didn't answer my question, your royal pain in the butt. And until I start getting answers from your royal mouth, im gonna talk like I wish." Halt said, sarcasm extremely evident in his voice. Lucario stood need to his trainer, who remains standing. He is not my king, so I shall not bow.

The king scowled at Halt's sarcasm and merely snapped his fingers. Immediately a glowing blue light surrounded Halt and Lucario. Halt was thrown across the room while Lucario was forced into a bow before the King of Aurelias. The culprit was reveled by its glowing blue eyes. An Espeon laying on a silk pillow in the shadows of the throne; the action so effortless for the psychic type it didn't even need to rise.

Lucario was forced down, and saw how Halt was thrown at the wall. Overcome with rage, the pokemon's eyes turned bright blue, and a blue aura started to form around him, breaking free of the psychic force. The aura also, lifted Halt back up, and formed a protective barrier around the two, when Halt walked up. "So you attack your guests. How very royally gracious I feal for you, sire." He made a mocking bow, but it came as an insult, not a show of respect.

Kaleb trained his Pokémon vigorously. They loved to train and he wanted them to be as strong as they could, without pushing them to their limits. He let Lairon train against Charmeleon, and Lairon was able to defeat it with Rock Slide, despite the disadvantage. Turtwig trained against Bagon, and Bagon mastered Dragon Claw, but still lost due to Synthesis repeatedly healing Turtwig. Kaleb could see that Turtwig was soon going to evolve. Pikachu trained with Pancham, and Pancham won with a combination of Circle Throw and Comet Punch, throwing Pikachu and punching it in midair. Pancham, Bagon, and Turtwig all showed signs of evolution.

He got a message saying the Pokémon in his PC wanted to join his team sometime. Boldore, Nincada, Skorupi, and Pidgeotto all showed promise, but so did his team. He decided to put Pikachu in the PC and take out Skorupi so it could train, and he did the same with Nincada and Bagon, swapping them temporarily. He let Nincada train against many wild Pokémon, going up against many Poliwhirls at the lake.

One particular Poliwhirl gave it much trouble. "Mud-Slap!" Kaleb called out. The bug type missed, and was hit by Bubblebeam. It tried to use Metal Claw, but it did little damage and was hit by Body Slam.

"Nincada, get out of there!" Kaleb cried. Nincada was stuck, but it used Dig to get out, leaving Poliwhirl waiting for it to come out.

But Nincada never came up.

"Where is he?" Kaleb asked himself. He was truly worried. But a few seconds later, a Ninjask popped out of the ground.

"You evolved?" he asked the new Pokémon. Ninjask nodded. "Alright, then use Fury Cutter!" Ninjask repeatedly hit Poliwhirl with Fury Cutter, before it finally fell. Kaleb threw the pokeball, and caught Poliwhirl.

"Great job, Ninjask!" he said to his newly-evolved Pokémon.

A little later, he sent a Ninjask back to the PC and retrieved Bagon again to train.

Making a mental note of Spade's request Qin rushed off into the forest trailing behind on overly excited Gligar. By the time Rose had stopped, perching onto an overhead branch, Qin was all but exhausted. With haggard breaths, he managed to survey their surrounding. They had reached a small clearing in the forest, only around 5m in diameter, smack dab in the center of this clearing was a dried log, and atop the log, a Mienfoo reclining lazily. She paid little to no attention to Qin himself, but her eyes had locked with Rose's and they both exchanged evaluating gazes. For a few moments time seemed to freeze, Mienfoo the Queen of her clearing perched upon her wooden throne gazing almost regally towards her insolent invader.

Without regard to Qin, the pair launched themselves at each other, Cross Poison colliding with Force Palm, claws against fists. The duo was left to their own devices battling based on instinct alone. Gligar's speed, after being boosted by agility, wasn't something Mienfoo could keep up with, but even then her use of Detect allowed her to deflect or dodge particularly powerful blows. The battle quickly become one of attrition as neither side could deal a finishing blow. However, everything changed in a moment as Rose leaped through the air, performing a dizzying series of movements that Qin recognized as Acrobatics, a move she surely hadn't known beforehand. Mienfoo, for all her prodigious combat techniques, failed to adapt to the sudden change and was struck flying.

Eyes narrowing and gaze sharpening Qin sailed a Pokeball through the air which collided mid-flight with Mienfoo. The Pokeball landed with a pomf, it shook once, twice, and eventually thrice before remaining motionless, a small click signifying that Mienfoo had been caught. Qin strolled over, quite pleased with the way things had turned out.

"Welcome to the team, Ruanshui. Let's get you acquainted "

After releasing all his Pokemon from their confines, Qin leaned against a nearby tree and spent the next few minutes watching the trio interact. Ruanshi, entirely unsatisfied with the outcome of their battle, seemed to argue with Rose, demanding a rematch, though the latter would have none of it and she hovered smugly, just beyond the Mienfoo's reach. Twilla, clearly the more leveled headed Pokemon, watched on the sidelines enjoying the show. Qin cleared his throat in attempt to get the trio's attention,

"Let's head back to the Lake, I'd rather not wait and see what that battle might have attracted, and I might be able to catch up to Spade before she leaves."

Thus the trainer and his half-filled team began their return to the Lake.

Finna lead the group into the forest as the sun continued to set. As she approached the crown of the small lake, she saw a boy battling a Mienfoo. She was going to avoid him but Asriel rushed over to him

"Qin!" He said as he waved to the fellow young adult. "Meet Finna; she escaped the people who want to kill us," he explained while gesturing to the barely visible girl.

Meanwhile, the King chuckled at Halt. And the chuckle became a deep throated laughter. Even the King's Espeon, one of his most prized pokemon, tilted its head in confusion. "You," he said as he stood, "are quite brave. Almost to the poiint of foolishness. I could easily have you killed for your disrespect and yet you hold your ground. There's something to admire in that."

Soon, he was standing a few feet away. His body was packed with lean muscle, not withered muscle like many folk his age. "Your Lucario is powerful. And with your spirit, you have potential. You could climb high within the order. A little respect and training and you could be among our higest command. And don't mind Espeon; he simply knows to make sure others show his Master respect and he can be a tad overzealous in that venture," the Espeon in question yawned and went back to his nap.

"Oh? She was able to escape you say?"

Qin had doubts, his eyes scanned the girl. They knew for a fact that Darla's Gardevoir knew teleport, and that the opponents had camera's attached to flying Pokemon. To have avoided aerial surveillance and outran teleportation this girl was clearly not the type to be casually trifled with. However, seeing as Asriel was still alive and kicking, and not a corpse because he got assassinated she probably didn't have any ill intent. Or at the very least, 'The enemy of your enemy is your friend'. Bringing his gaze back up to her face and locking eyes with her, he introduced himself formally.

"The name's Qinlan, or Qin for short. Nice to have you onboard. As they say, 'the more the merrier', especially when a secret anarchic group of psychos is trying to hunt, and kill you."

He smiled casually as if their hunters were just another unexpected change in the weather.

"These are my partners, Rosephase, the Gligar ..."

Who hissed in greeting.

"...Twilla the Cottonee..."

Who stared amicably at Finna.

"... and our newest member, Ruanshui the Mienfoo."

Who held no interest in Finna and continued arguing with Rose.

"I still here you dodging the question. What do you want with me?" Halt asked, losing the annoyance in his voice, to one of confidence and commandment. Lucario was still maintaining the aura field, but signs of it weakening were becoming evident. "I refuse to do anything for you until I get my answer."

Finna wandered down to stand in front of the boys, her facial scar on full display. It was simply too large to hide. This Qinlan seemed similar to Asriel: too perceptive for his own good. Still, nothing she could do about it for the time being.

Besides, his cheerful attitude despite being aware of the danger seemed uplifting in a way. "Good to meet you, Qinlan," she told him, slowly blinking her light aqua eyes. While her face was devoid of any expression, as was her tone, she truly meant it.

"This looks like a good area to train in. I should probably look for a grass type," Asriel mused with a smile as he looked around. Storm came up behind him, snorting rudely as her broken horn sparked with electricity. As always, Finna stroked the Zebstrika's mane to try to calm her. "Easy, girl," she added for good measure.

~~~~~
The King's smile stayed in place. "Lucario can lower his guard; you won't be attacked anymore. I had you brought here for an offer to join the order. At first I thought you all threats; a sign that the outside world was becoming nosey and wanting to invade my home. But with how you all handled the boat attack and Darla, I see promise among you," he explained.
Kaleb saw a spark of electricity coming from the forest, and he ran over to where he saw it. He saw Asriel, Qin, Finna, Storm, Rose, Twilla, and a Mienfoo in a clearing of the forest.
"Hey guys!" he said, walking over to them. "I have news. Regarding Halt."
"Yes?" Finna responded to the loud by who intruded on her initial conversation with Asher. She supposed Halt must be another member of the group she hadn't yet met.
"The Auralians... they took him. He went with a huge trainer named Luke to go meet their 'king.'"
Although, Halt betrayed them, he didn't mention that part, because even though Halt hurt him and his pride, he still wanted to save him, because he didn't want Halt to be trapped there against his will.
"The guy he went with, Luke, owned an Alakazam, a Blaziken, and an Abomasnow. Halt and Lucario attacked me..." he wasn't including that Halt intended hurting him, because he didn't want his friends to lose confidence in Halt, for nobody deserved to be trapped and have nobody trying to save them. "...to gain their trust," he finished.
Halt shook his head no, at the proposition of bringing down the aura. "Not going to happen yet. What did you expect? You go and kidnap me away, and say a few words, and expect everything to be all honkey dorey? No. But Im offering a deal of trade. My name, for your Name. As a sign of trust. How about that?"
Finna merely gave Kaleb a hard gaze. "Then this Halt person brought this on himself as well as whatever happens to him there," she stated simply. It was like she could be more interested about the weather. Which she was, in all honesty. Weather could be helpful or harmful. An absent idiot was neither and thus a waste of her time.
~~~~~
The boy showed wit and diligence as Well? Very promising. "I can manage that much. You can know me as King Micheal (pronounced Me-keel). Though if you join, you'll call me "King" or "Sire"."

"Oh?"

Qin frowned slightly at this revelation. Seeing as Kaleb wasn't hurt it didn't seem like Halt had really aimed to injure him. Qin could easily imagine what Kaleb would look like had Halt's Lucario actually attacked him. Since that was not the case, Halt was clearly planning something. He might've gone about it in a way Qin disagreed with for reasons like 'Walking into the Enemy camp alone is stupid', but who knows what Halt was thinking.

"I'm not sure if that's good news or bad news, but Halt's landed himself in enemy territory. Though something that's definitely bad news is the enemy has more teleporters.

Kaleb looked at Finna, shocked at the fact that she, the one person who had been in the same situation as Halt, had less sympathy than him, and he was the one who felt betrayed!

"Ever wonder whether or not people said the same about you? Well, if they did, I expected you to be different, since you have been in the same situation. I expected you to at least try to be helpful."

Qin's comment, however, satisfied him, but only Asher, Kaleb, and Finna knew how dangerous they really were. This was more serious than Qin thought it was.

"This enemy, according to Finna, is more formidable than Darla, and remember what nearly happened when we met her?" He liked that Qin wanted to help, but if they wanted Halt to survive AND stay on their side, they had to rescue him as soon as possible.

"I will call you Micheal anyhow. I am Halt of Sinnoh, but I am to be called Halt. Now, how long do I have until I have to decide on if im joining?" Halt asked the king, stepping forward, still inside the aura. "And what does your union want?"

Finna glared at the boy. He had guts and a kind heart but that meant nothing in the real world; she had found that out personally. "What am I supposed to do for him?! Lead us all to their doors?! Because I can garunteed that's where Halt is now!" She paused to take a breath, shutting her eyes to focus on calming down.

When she opened her eyes, they were actually watery. "I am sorry for him. If he's going through what they put me through, he'll soon wish himself dead. But you must understand. From what I learned, Darla, someone skilled enough to become a champion, is the second. Weakest. Of their top members," she revealed. "Darla earned her place through brains, loyalty and strategizing. But actual power is something she lacks. If we go, we're dead to. He made his choice. Now we make ours and I choose life," she said firmly.

~~~~~
"You have thirty minutes, my boy," Micheal replied, heading back to his throne. He may be strong for an old man but he was still old and needed to conserve his energy. "As for our goal, it depends on who you ask. Mine is money, power...respect. Being able to rule my own land. Luke and Darla simply wish to serve me no matter what my endeavors are though I am aware she wishes to rule upon my passing. The lives, the futures of many people depend upon us. They grant me my wish by giving me a people to rule over and I grant their wishes in return. So, Halt of Sinnoh, what is your wish?"
"Halt isn't one to be put in a corner, he doesn't just give up. He wouldn't wish himself dead unless he was actually dying."
Pancham nodded in agreement. He knew Halt wouldn't give up, and he would either join them or fight, probably the latter.
"Halt has three options: Join them, fight them, or give up on everything. Out of those, he is likely to do the second," Kaleb told them.
Qin rolled his eyes.
"Don't be so dramatic, If they wanted to kill/torture any of us and considering they have multiple Pokemon knowing teleport, I assure you we'd all be having this conversation from the grave. They clearly don't intend to kill him or torture him."
That wasn't to say that Qin knew what they were doing but at the very least he could rule out Halt dying or getting tortured.
Finna looked over at Qin in astonishment. "How do you know what they do or do not want? You want proof they could wish to torture?! Would you like to see the scars on my stomach or on my spine?" She spat venomously. "The people among their topmost ranks enjoy mind games. I wouldn't be surprised if this were one of them!" she insisted.
Asriel watched and listened. He couldn't deny his off feelings about Finna but with how avid she was about not going for Halt, maybe it wasn't for the reasons he thought. "We can't abandon him," he agreed, standing by Kaleb. "But she is right; we can't rush anything. We can't be too risky with our own lives. We won against Darla because she was outnumbered and we were lucky. We won't be so lucky in their stronghold."
"Well, judging from Kaleb's account he wasn't kidnapped or taken by force. I for one don't think Halt would willing waltz over to the Auralians just to be tortured, and if this were a mind game it'd likely be a trap."
Qin was a bit taken back, this girl changed faces way too quickly, from almost complete indifference to a bastion of righteousness. If ever there were traits to be wary off, multifariousness would certainly be one of them.
Finna shook her head rapidly. "You don't know how they work," she muttered. "The held me prisoner for four years... I dont doubt they want Halt for something but...it's what'll happen if he doesn't give in that worries me. Besides, Luke was the one who took him; Luke doesn't care for torture. Only fulfilling Sire's orders."
"You have thirty minutes, my boy," Micheal replied, heading back to his throne. He may be strong for an old man but he was still old and needed to conserve his energy. "As for our goal, it depends on who you ask. Mine is money, power...respect. Being able to rule my own land. Luke and Darla simply wish to serve me no matter what my endeavors are though I am aware she wishes to rule upon my passing. The lives, the futures of many people depend upon us. They grant me my wish by giving me a people to rule over and I grant their wishes in return. So, Halt of Sinnoh, what is your wish?"
"I have no wish. But even if so, you would find it out on your own means." Halt said blankly. "I'll join you, but if you may. Do you have a fossil lab around here? I need to use it if so."
"A fossil lab? Not in Froena, no. But I can have it shipped off for you. The order has influence in every region," Micheal assured. He gave Luke a dismissive wave and the other man left without a word.
"I wish to see your team, Halt. Release them and I shall show you mine."
"Then, unless this 'Sire'has a thing for torture then we've got nothing to fear."
Qin seriously questioned how a prisoner could be so familiar with the top brass of an organization. Even if she was there for 4 years it's unlikely the Leaders took care of her themselves, so a number of times she'd have even seen them would've been limited. For her to be so informed about their personalities and traits was oddly suspicious.
"We shouldn't rush into it, like Asriel said. We should spend more time on the island, train, maybe evolve our Pokémon, then go, when we are stronger," Kaleb said.
Lairon, once again, popped out of his ball, and randomly started running in circles, and Kaleb sighed at the daft steel type, returning it after a few seconds.
"We need to train our Pokémon to make them stronger, or else we will have no chance against the Auralians," he said.
"That is something I'm fully capable of agreeing with. We'll also need a bit of information."
With that said Qin turned his gaze to Finna,
"I hope you don't mind, but I think we'll be relying on you for that one. You probably know the most about the Island and the Auralians, so we'll be in your care"
Qin bowed lightly,
"First how about some simple things like: the base's location, the base's layout, info on the top brass?"
"I don't know much of the layout. I know the way from the cells to Angel's personal study. I know the base is in the heart of the jungle at the island's center. And the guards would often talk about what they thought of the 'top brass' and their teams. What exactly do you want to know about them?" She asked as she sat down, curled against Storm. This would be grueling, she could tell. She wouldn't go into detail about the gruesome memories but discussing the people would remind her of tfhem anyway. Especially when getting to Angel.
"How about their teams? Full names?" Asriel suggested as he moved to stand by Qin. He sensed that Qin was unsure about her as well which gave the emerald eyed boy comfort. So it wasn't just him!
"I don't know all of their usual teams or what other pokemon they could have but I'll tell you what I know. Let's start with two names that are probably new to you: William and Dru."
Qin exchanged a glance with Asriel, one that seemed to say, how much did you tell her? It was never good to give away too much information to a person who you didn't quite trust yet. However, judging from Finna's phrasing she knew about their encounter with Darla, but maybe she hadn't gotten the full story. So far everything Finna had said fit together almost perfectly if he recalled correctly, she'd been on the Island for 4 years and had been free for roughly a few months.
She had rather spectacular timing as they just so happened to arrive just after she'd been freed, and if that wasn't odd enough she'd spent months in the wild and never caught another Pokemon. He could chalk it up to something like 'Lack of Pokeballs' but even then the whole situation reeked of suspicion. Pokeballs weren't the only way to befriend Pokemon after all...
Overall, Finna could be summed up as rather odd, but Qin couldn't quite see any reason to question her... yet. Therefore he would listen, slowly but sure absorbing all the information she had to offer.
Asriel sat across from Finna; this would take some time so may as well settle in. "William and Dru aren't too high ranking but they're important to Sire," Finna said before biting her tongue. She didn't mean to fall into their dialect but after four years it was hard not to. "William is the most sane out of their more important members. He'll brutally kill you with little remorse in a heartbeat but he's one of the few who seem capable of remorse. He was the one who found me, turned me in to their king... anytime he could get me alone after that he would apologize. One time he even slipped me pain medicine. He's not a fan of the Order but he won't leave Dru and Dru won't leave the Order. I haven't heard of many of his pokemon, though I know his Houndoom is never far from him.
"Dru's real name is Drusilla and she is an entirely different beast. Whatever you do, don't let her release a pokemon! She is obsessed with hypnotic pokemon; her main partner is a Hypno. That thing gets a hold of you and you die or become a gift wrapped present for Angel! She is completely insane; William is the only one I've witnessed interpret her crazy. Still, Sire keeps her around because she is a psychic herself. Not on the level of someone like Sabrina but more of a clairvoyant kind. I have no idea how accurate she is, especially through the crazy, but she's still alive so I suppose her gifts work well enough. She has a Xatu as well. Dru is very fond of William and Angel; she only listens to those higher than Angel because he tells her to." And then comes Angel; how was she going to explain him? Just thinking of trying to describe a man she still sometimes had nightmares of had her break a sweat.
During her confinement, Angel had inadvertently taught her a lot. How to mask her emotions, manipulate her voice, control your breath to where you can fake almost anything. She had done that for years to try and deny him satisfaction; her own way of trying to get back at him for all he had done to her. And the other members had cease to frighten her. After all, there was no way they could be worse than Angel... it had to be impossible!
(OOC: I'm just going to pretend Spade was there for all of that..)
Spade looked at Finna, her hands in her pockets as she sighed "You okay?" her voice was quiet as she spoke. Quill landed on Spades head, Tailgate at her feet as she shifted from the feeling of uneasiness.
"I accept the deal, and wish you understand that my pokemon could need quite a lot of training. But they all have a purpose." Halt said, in a matter of fact tone. He released Heracross's ball, and Spheal's ball. Halt knew he might get some dis for the spheal, but the pokemon is extremely useful when needed.
Micheal smiled down at the playful seal pokemon. "Ice types; so rare yet so strong. That little one will be a force to be reckoned with when he grows," the King complimented. With a slight grin, he released his own pokemon. "Meet my pride and joys: Garchomp, Avalugg, Gastrodon, Amoongus, and Incineroar," he introduced as the light from his tossed pokeballs faded. The pokemon were all sleek, powerful, glowing with health, and had glares in their eyes. Espeon sighed in annoyance before getting off his plush silk pillow to stand with the rest of the team.
~~~~~
Finna gave Spade a thankful look but the girl's concern couldn't quell her worry. Taking a deep breath, she made the plunge. "I know Angel has Hydregion and Gallade but that's all I know about his team. He is very, very sick and cruel. He sees torture as an art and not just physical torture; he loves mental torture more than anything else in this world.

"He is the reason Drusilla is as crazy as she is. Angel was tasked with recruiting her through any means necessary. From what I understand, she was good and pure; a woman dedicated to her faith in Arceus. She would have never been caught dead within a hundred feet of the order... so Angel destroyed her mind until, when she realized all she had left was him, she gave her life to him rather than her diety. She's one of the few I've actually had a conversation with and she's convinced that he did her a justice: granting her a new life with better meaning... that is why we can't get near Angel; this is what he does to people," Finna said. By the end of her explanation, she had pulled her knees to her chest and wrapped her arms around them. Her head rested on her knees as she stared blankly ahead at the ground, her mind a million miles away.

She was broken from her stupor by by Asriel, who was holding out seven pokeballs. "We need to be stronger. If you want to better your chances of survival here, use these to grow your team," he urged her.

"Storm and I are fine," she insisted as Asriel shook his head. Taking her hands, he placed the pokeballs in them and held her hands around them. "Ground types, any pokemon with lightning rod or flash fire, most rock types, all but a few dragons... all of those pokemon block most of the attacks a Zebstrika can learn. You two are close because you've been through a lot, I get it. But may let a couple more faces into your family?" he explained his reasoning as he backed away, leaving the pokeballs with her. Finna looked to Storm for guidance; she wanted her little family to stay as it was, always. But she also didn't want Storm to be forced to take unnecessary risks. For her part, Storm seemed to agree with Asriel, her face implying that she would appreciate a little help.

"I'll...consider it," she conceded as she pocketed the pokeballs.

"Well, here's number four." Halt said, tossing a fossil down on the ground. It was covered enough to block the type it is, but distinct enough to tell that it's a fossil. "You said you had access to revive it, then revive it. That's what seals the deal on my end." He kicks the small rock over to the 'king' and stepped back, waiting for his reaction.

Qin nodded slowly, contemplating what Finna had just imparted,

"So... Angel. Danger level 10. Kill on sight, if possible... Sounds reasonable."

Their opponents seemed rather strong, though that went without saying. Darla was a Sinnoh League Champion and even then she was the second weakest member of the top brass. Even before considering the top brass who knows how many waves of grunts they would encounter?

"It's pretty clear that we're gonna need quite a bit of training.... any Ideas?"

Kaleb immediately brought up his idea, because he knew that he and Asriel were both Alolans.

"How about a Battle Royal?" he said to Qin. It would bring back many memories of his hometown for him. "It's where four trainers select their Pokémon and have a quadruple battle! It's how we do it in Alola!"

"That sounds great, Kaleb! Fun and practical; just what we need," Asriel said with a smile before turning to leave. "I just need to find another pokemon or two before we start. Finna, you want to come with me?" he asked. Finna paused until Storm stood up behind her and nudged her gently.

"Looks like I'm outvoted," she muttered as she reluctantly followed Asriel into the woods surrounding the small lake. It wasn't long before Asriel saw a small group of Bounsweets sleeping in the cover of some bushes.

Familiar with the Alolan pokemon, Asriel decided to catch one. Setting Jitter on the ground, Asriel whispered instructions into his ear. Giving Asriel a quick nod, the little pokemon quietly hopped forward. By the time he was within three feet of them, they were still sleeping peacefully. Arching his spines, Jitter let out a string of poison stings!

The Bounsweets awoke quickly once attacked. They squealed in panic; one managed to run and hide deeper in the thorny bushes. Another collapsedd from fright. The third decided to fight. The tiny pokemon lead with a razor leaf. It hit Jitter head on but it barely fazed the poison type.

Finna watched the battle for a few minutes before silently stalking off on her own to look for pokemon. She soon found one: a Stuffel. It was young and noisily chomping on the leg of what probably was a Pidove. Still...the little tike didn't seem to have a parent nearby so she went for it.

The battle wasn't anything spectacular. Thanks to Storm's flame charge, the battle was over quickly. The most interesting highlight was how much Finna struggled to throw a pokeball correctly. "Arceus damn these angles!" She whispered to herself as she threw her fourth pokeball. Stuffel picked up one of the balls that had missed, offering to just tap the button. "No! I can do this! I just need one more try," she assured. Storm just snorted and rolled her eyes.

Nearly an hour later, she returned triumphant. Her little Stuffel had been caught not by its own accord but by her own pokeball throwing skills! Asriel had long since returned and had healed his Bounsweet; she was a little girl who he had named Penny. Penny was in his lap munching on berries when Finna returned. "Oh hey, Finna; what took you so long?" Asriel asked in relief.

" Oh, it was nothing," she assured, not wanting them to know she had trouble with what, if Kaleb's team was any proof, was a simple task of throwing a pokeball.

The King messes with a control panel on his throne, calling in a short young woman with thick, spiky blonde hair and large square glasses. She was wearing a lab coat and was very nervous before Kimg Micheal. "Y-y-yes, Sire?" she asked, clearly trying to be brave.

"Alphys, dear, can you identify this fossil?" He asked, clearly trying to be gentler than he had with Halt. Alphys was very valuable; a true genius in her generation. She just needed a tad more confidence. Still, Micheal knew she would be a good servant without any outside pressure.

She scuttled over to the fossil, examining every part she could see. "Oh, my! An almost perfectly preserved dome fossil!" She exclaimed, going into a rant about how the parts that could be seen were the most fragile parts of the fossil and if they were preserved then this could be the most well preserved specimen she had ever seen.

"Yes, Alphys, that is wonderful. Now have it sent off right away," the King said in dismissal. "Oh! Right away, Sire," she said, leaving as quickly as she had come.
