Private/Closed Exploration of the Froena Region

While Kaleb was waiting for Asriel and Finna to come back, and he let his Bagon and Skorupi train against each other. Bagon won the first time, but Skorupi won the second time. They wanted to go one more time.

"Alright you two, but this is the last battle," he told them. Skorupi led off with Pin Missile, and it overwhelmed Bagon, but he retaliated with Dragon Breath. Skorupi hit with Poison Fang, and followed up with a move it had just recently learned, Cross Poison. Bagon managed to withstand the attacks and use Headbutt, causing Skorupi to flinch, letting it use Dragon Claw. They got up, and Cross Poison collided with Dragon Breath, causing damage to both, and they both fell.

Kaleb healed them, and they were satisfied with the result. Their strength was about equal. He congratulated them on their battling, and he returned them as Asriel and Finna returned.

Halt shook his head side to side when she left. "She talks a lot. So, a dome fossil. That means it's a Kabuto. Not a bad pokemon, what would you say?" He asked Micheal. Lucario let down the barrier when the deal was made. But he was ready to put it back up if the Espeon decided to attack again.

"Its not bad at all," Micheal agreed as he recalled all but his Espeon. "Although you are building a ground and electric weakness. Just something to be mindful of," he told Halt as he put in more commands on his touch pad. "William will be here shortly to show you to your room and have you fitted for your uniform," he told Halt firmly.

"Not wearing your dumb uniform. I can wear my own clothes, thank you very much." Halt said to Micheal. He turned away,walking to the door. But before he made it to the door, he turned and said, "And you will never critique my team again."

"Just for that bought of attitude, your mentor can be Angel. He will be training you until he sees that you have learned all you cam and then your place among us will be decided," the King said firmly as a tall, lanky blonde man entered the room, followed by a Houndoom. The man had thick, curly hair and sapphire blue eyes. He wore a dark red shirt under a long black leather jacket along with frayed black jeans. He also had multiple piercings in his right ear.

"You called, My King?" he called from the doorway, his accent thick. His expressi on and tone made it apparent he enjoyed these formalities as little as Halt.

"Yes, William. Take the new smartmouth to his room and get him fitted for his uniform. After that, deliver him to Angel for training," Micheal commanded, not even bothering to look at William.

William nodded and waved at Halt, indicating he should follow.

"Did you name him that? No wonder he's probably your strongest. He hates the name." Halt called back, and started after Micheal. He's not gonna make me do anything I don't want to. But he's in luck. Today I'm in a good mood.

After making sure the heavy wooden door was shut behind them, William burst out laughing. "Not that is refreshing," he said as he clapped Halt of the back. "Not many around here apart from Angel and myself willing to mouth off to the old bastard." Though, after a pause he added, "Doesn't mean we aren't morons for it; it's only a matter of time before he tries to have us killed for our lack of respect. That's why I've slacked off on it recently."

"He can try to kill me. He already tried to hurt my ego, but all that happened was a major lay down. Im Halt, by the way. And Lucario's trailing behind. He knows a few tricks." He turned to the hallway. "Two questions. Where are we, and where is my room?"

"You guys ready for this?" he asked them. He had selected his Bagon, Skorupi, and Turtwig for the battle, because they needed the most training. He saw that Asriel had caught a Bounsweet and Finna had caught a Stufful. He recognized them both, since he lived on Akala.

"You, my young friend, are in the capital. A large castle in the jungle at the heart of Froena. And believe me, if Sire wants someone dead, they die. And he's giving you Angel as a trainer to? It's rough... It's a prissy name, I know but Angel chose it himself. He likes the irony in it," William explained as they walked the halls.

Houndoom trailed behind as well, sniffing Halt's Lucario curiously. "I didn't manage to see your whole team; Houndoom here is my ace," William said proudly.

~~~~~
Asriel nodded in excitement. Penny had managed to heal while they were waiting on Finna so he would have a team of three as well for the battle. Finna, on the other hand, would just have Storm since she decided Stuffel still needed rest. Still a Zebstrika versus their teams one at a time would be rough to beat.
"How does this work?" Finna asked the boys.
"Well, it's a free for all," Asriel explained. "Four trainers with an agreed on amount of pokemon all fight until only one person still has pokemon able to fight. This time, we're using three and you've volunteered to he hindered by just using Storm."
Finna nodded. "Simple enough," she responded cooly as she laid Stuffel on a tree stump and walked away so she and Storm could have their own corner of the battlefield.
"I should warn you, I made it past even the Hyper Rank back when I lived in Alola," Kaleb said as he sent in his Bagon for battle. Bagon was very energized and ready to battle.
"I was only defeated when the Masked Royal himself battled me, so watch out for some of the tactics that I may use just like I did at home."
Qin frowned slightly at that, although the handicap was well intentioned it still left him slightly irked. However, to protest would be completely pointless, so he was disinclined to do that either. He glanced over at his trio of Pokemon who had stopped messing around at the mention of a battle. They all gazed at him zealously filled with the desire to battle, with the exception of Twilla who clearly thought it was neither here nor there. Sighing in resignation Qin called out,
"Ruanshui, you're up! Let's make this a good one~"
Asriel took his position and released his ground type. "You're up, Sleipnir," he said cheerfully. This tidbit of home was just what he needed after recent events.
Finna gave a slight tilt of her head and Storm padded into the arena silently, not needing any further instruction. "We're ready," she announced. "Who goes first?"
"You don't need to see my team yet. Wait for later." Halt said looking over at his partner's pokemon. "Seems strong enough." Lucario swatted at the Houndoom sniffing at him.
"It's not really who goes first, we just call out moves," Kaleb said. Bagon hopped up and down energetically, desperately wanting to have a real battle for the first time instead of a training battle with Turtwig or Skorupi.
Qin cracked a smile,
"Well, since you're being so generous! Rua, Meditate!"
The little fighting type immediately began to focus, unleashing her latent power and steadily raising her attack. Though he immediately prepared to order Detect if one of them decided to attack suddenly.
"Bagon, Dragon Breath!" Kaleb called out to the dragon type.
It started charging up its Dragon Breath, aiming for Ruanshui, but Kaleb's brain hatched an idea. The idea was so cunning that it would catch both Qin and Asriel off guard, and also waste one of Qin's moves, while hurting Asriel at the same time. This particular idea could easily help him win the first KO.
"Don't launch yet, Bagon," he said. He waited for Qin to make his move before making his own.
Seeing the fighting type prepare itself, Asriel considered his options. Bulldoze could hit the entire field but high horsepower could hit Storm particularly hard. Then again, with Storm's type weakness, how much did that matter in a free for all?
Asriel made his desicion but realized something very important. Instead of being ready for battle, Sleipnir was ogling Storm! "Sleipnir, focus!" He snapped. The ground type immediately resumed a battle stance at his trainer's yell.
"Iron defence!" Asriel called out. If the others were setting up then so would he. Stamina would help Sleipnir's defences but no reason to not give then an extra boost.
As the smaller pokemon performed hos attack, Finna called out "Charge," to Storm. The electric type's stripes glowed yellow and her horn sparked and fixed like mad at the rush of electricity filling her body.
~~~~~
"Fair enough; I wasn't really going to show mine either," William confessed. "Can't trust any of the higher ups in this place. You seem like a decent kid; why are you mixing up with this hodgepodge of mentals?"

Qin gave Kaleb and Asriel weird looks. Were they just gonna let him boost his attack? Not, that he had any problems with their decisions of course but he couldn't help but think to himself.
I really hope they don't do this in a battle with the Aurallians...
However seeing as none of them had the mind to attack Rua Qin let them be. He made no movements at all. If they were gonna let him charge up his attack then why not let them? It was rare to be given freebies in a battle, and it'd be such a waste to throw it away.

"Rua, continue, Meditate!"

Kaleb saw that Qin wasn't falling for it, so he called out, "Launch!" Bagon launched the fully-powered Dragon Breath, and it hit Ruanshui square in the face. Dragon Breath, already being a powerful move, was boosted even more by Bagon's ability, Sheer Force.

"Charge up another!" he said, and Bagon began to charge again. Perhaps Qin would fall for it this time.

Rua staggered back slightly before regaining her stance and glaring at Bagon. The move wasn't particularly devastating since Bagon was more suited to Attacks than Special attacks, so Rua was able to tank the blow. However, there was no point to racking up damage so Qin changed tactics slightly,

"Rua take some distance from Bagon, then Calm mind followed by Meditate!"

The irritated Pokemon instantly retreated a few ft and begun to once again hone her mental state.

Kaleb saw that his strategy was getting nowhere, so he just called out, "Bagon, change directions!" Bagon turned to Sleipnir and released yet another fully-powered Dragon Breath, and it hit Sleipnir right in the side.

"Dragon Claw!" he called out. Bagon ran towards Sleipnir and started charging the attack. "Now, turn and go for Storm!" Bagon turned and was able to hit Storm with Dragon Claw, causing Storm to fall over.

"Alright, now use Focus Energy!" Bagon pumped itself with energy, causing his critical hit ratio to boost. He repeated the tactic twice, before running at Ruanshui for another Dragon Claw.

Finna watched the battle without a blink of an eye. "Storm, use agility and stomp," she specifically didn't identify a target. She trusted her pokemon to know where to go and none of these pokemon wanted to take a stomp attack.

Storm quickly stood, not much bothered by Bagon's attacks, and charged ahead, her agility making her a blur and she advanced on her target, following her trainer's line of sight. Coming right up on Bagon, she roughly stomped the smaller pokemon, her hoof on its belly crushing it to the ground.

Asriel gritted his teeth, not wanting to deal with a special Bagon. He decided to keep far from Bagon and by extension Storm. Sleipnir wouldn't appreciate a special hit, end of conversation. "High horsepower, Sleipnir, on Rua!" he called out, pointing for emphasis. Sleipnir charged forward, going as fast as he could to ensure his most powerful kick.

Bagon was stopped in his tracks by the sudden Stomp attack.

"Dragon Breath!" Kaleb called out, and it used Dragon Breath, hitting Storm.

"Now, jump on her and use Dragon Claw!" Bagon obeyed, and jumped on top of Storm and hitting her with a Dragon Claw.

Storm was staring to use scratches but her horn was bubbling with energy like never before. "Discharge!" Finna yelled out. The electric blast spread over the field in an instant, piping and crackling like it was all one giant lightning blast.

Qin smirked lightly as he saw Sleipnir closing in on Rua,

"Alright, Rua! Endure, Then VItal Throw!"

He allowed Rua to take the blow, and she immediately countered by grasping Sleipnir and tossing him to the ground.

"Follow up with Pound!"

Without letting up she attempted to Slam her dainty-looking fists into Sleipnir, further embedding the poor equestrian in the ground. At the very moment Storm's Discharge lit up the field. The surge of current rushed through Ruanshui's body as her fur was singed slightly. Fortunately, she still had contact with Sleipnir who wasn't exactly a conductor of electricity.

"Well, I was kidnapped away, and forced against my will to do this." Halt said, saying exactly what happened, but put his own twist onto it. "What are you here for?" Lucario was using the aura to keep a barrier around him to keep away the Houndoom. "Hey, Lucario. Put it down." Halt called back, somehow sensing it was there. He didn't want all his tricks to be relieved.

Bagon took the Discharge, and got up to run at Ruanshui, who was on top of Sleipnir. It ran, charging up Dragon Claw, and hit Ruanshui, causing her to fall off of Sleipnir and take a good amount of damage.

"Turn around, and use Dragon Breath!" Bagon turned around, and aimed for Storm. He unleashed Dragon Breath, which hit Storm, and he ran at her and followed up with Crunch, but was shocked by Storm's Thunderbolt and took damage.

Sleipnir was able to break away, his stamina boosting his defences so much that it looked like he had only taken a few hits. "Good job; now use bulldoze!" Asriel cried out.

Sleipnir raised little hooves in the air as his body began to glow. He grew at a rapid rate as the glow spread. By the time his hooves hit the ground with a near deafening crash, he had finished evolving. He was a Mudsdale.

Finna noted this with caution. Mudsdale, Zebstrika's natural counterpart. This could be tricky. Storm, despite not appreciating the dragon attacks, was able to turn around so that the crunch landed on her horn. Trying her hardest to use a regular electric attack instead of discharge, knowing full well what would happen, her horn set of its own out of control lightning bolt that recoiled back onto the Zebstrika and the Bagon biting down.

Rua, thanks to Bagon, had been knocked a fair distance from Sleipnir but even then the effects of Bulldoze still left her rattled. Qin glanced at Bagon who had likely taken the full brunt of the damage but still insisted on charging headfirst. It brazenly charged up a dragon breath right in front of her, as if it expected her to let it finish. Which, of course, they wouldn't.

"Rua shut it up with a Force palm to the jaw, then send it flying with another Force Palm!"

Bagon suddenly unleashed Dragon Breath, hitting Rua and stopping her in her tracks.

"Now, dodge the attacks and use Dragon Claw!"

Kaleb's strategy was to catch Rua off guard with the timing of Bagon's attacks, and so far, it seemed to be working. Bagon hit Rua with Dragon Claw, but was hit by a Force Palm directly after. When he landed, he was hit by another Force Palm and was knocked backwards, and he changed targets to Sleipnir.

"Storm, flame charge Rua," Finna ordered, noting she could barely hit Sleipnir at all and Bagon resisted all her hits. As the Zebstrika charged forward, she was blindsided by a high horsepower from Sleipnir. The blow sent her sprawling and she crumpled on the ground, barely having the strength to stand again.

Bagon ran at Sleipnir, charging up a Dragon Claw, and hit Sleipnir in the side.

"Jump and use Flamethrower!" Kaleb called out, and the dragon jumped, and then hit Sleipnir with Flamethrower, before following up with another Dragon Claw.

"Crunch!" Kaleb called out, but Bagon was hit by High Horsepower and the attack chain was cut off early.

Sleipnir, his defences still sky high, whipped around and delivered a high horsepower to the much smaller pokemon's jaw, cutting off the attack chain from the start.

Storm had removed herself from the battle, receiving some TLC from Finna as they watchedd the battle.

Rua, being a species of Pokemon known for their martial arts, was easily able to deflect most of the damage from Bagon's Dragon Claw by countering with her own use of Force Palm. The two attacks collided and Rua was knocked backward by the rebound staggering back multiple steps before regaining her balance. She once again gave the Bagon a few cursory glares, but quickly returned her focus to the battle once she heard Qin's voice.

"Detect, and counter at your digression."

Mienfoo and Mienshao were rather well known for their rapid flurry of attacks, and any Pokemon who attacked Rua next would get a taste of just how fast she could deliver punishment.

Kaleb was wary of Detect, and decided not to go for Rua, and instead let Sleipnir fall for the trick.

"Bagon, run away from Sleipnir!" he called out. Bagon ran away, leaving Sleipnir and Rua in the battlefield. Bagon hadn't left the battle, he just ran out of Sleipnir's sight, so he hadn't been disqualified. He left Sleipnir and Rua in the battlefield, and Kaleb hoped that Sleipnir would go for Rua.

William nodded at Halt. "You're in tune with your pokemon; you'll need that in this place," the curly blonde man told him as they came to what almost looked like a clothes shop crawling with Leavanny and Ariados. No humans around, though.

William walked up to the counter and opened a blue binder. "This is the book of uniforms for men. All that makes them a uniform is having the Auralian insignia," he explained, showing his insignia on his jacket collar. It was a Sun surrounded by three stars. "Everything else about the clothes is custom made. Pick the styles you want and your name in the back of the binder and Mrs. Sawyer will get back to you for measurements."

"Thanks. Now get out. Not in the mood for small talk." Halt said, and Lucario made a blocking motion, and pushed them to the door. Halt walked over, and shut the door, and locked it. Walking over to the binder, he checked over the designs. "Crappy, horrible, trash, halfway decent, even worse than the other ones, nothing." Halt said after he flipped through the book. On the last page, he wrote, 'Get better designs and get back with me.'

William opened the lock with his set of keys and walked back in with a growling Houndoom. Checking the binder, he turned on Halt. "Just what is your problem?! Mrs. Sawyer is a sweet old lady; she never did anything to you, asshole!"

~~~~~
Asriel kept his eyes on Bagon, not willing to let the dragon get away. He had an answer for Rua but not many of his pokemon could take hits from a baby psuedo-legendary pokemon. "Go after Bagon and use Stomp followed by a high horsepower!" Asriel called. Sleipnir ran after the baby pokemon, his weight causing the arena to tremble as he bore down on the baby pokemon.
Bagon noticed that Sleipnir was after him, and at the last second, turned and used Crunch, which hit Sleipnir in the neck, causing them to both fall to the ground.
"Bagon!" Kaleb cried out, but the dragon was nowhere in sight. After a few seconds, a Flamethrower was launched from underneath Sleipnir, and a Shelgon was revealed.
"You evolved!" Kaleb cried out in joy. "Alright, use Zen Headbutt!" Shelgon ran towards Sleipnir, and hit it with Zen Headbutt. "Alright, Rua may be done by now," Kaleb said to himself, but he was wrong. "Zen Headbutt!" he called out to Shelgon, and it ran towards Rua, but Detect blocked it, and Shelgon became trapped in the flurry of attacks.
