Yea, but in full honesty, all I see from others is them getting through a large cave system in an afternoon, home in time for dinner. By the time I get on, everyones waiting on me.
Well, most (myself included) of us speed through the routes. I think we should spend more time here, and maybe a day and a half on the ferry?
"Breeze" through it? We're about a month into when this RP first kicked off. If we're going at a pace in which you earn a badge every two weeks, I don't think that's really rushing it. If you're worried about the in-game time of earning a badge every day, we could just say that an uneventful few days passed over training time.
As long as we don't have "Hysan Syndrome" and slow down in universe it would be fine. And you were complaining that we were "too slow" in the beginning.

Oh, and as for time passing by quickly (i.e beating one gym a day) that's what I do in my HeartGold grind. Light work! But I realize this is an RP, and not a game. So slow is good. Slow would be nice in order for me to catch up because someone (cough cough fastt please post for out battle) doesn't post a whole ton, which in effect doesn't allow me to post (because I have to wait for their response).
Also, as I explained in the convo, Derek has never really been in love with anyone (except Gosling, of course). The waiter thing was more of a flutter. Like, "Whoa, when did I start to think guys were somewhat hot?". Andy Bernard in "Gossip", anyone?
