Dekan kept a straight face, listening intently to the General. "Then I wish you luck in your endeavor." He murmured, before he felt the stave penetrate his back, and some of his chest. He let out a groan of pain as it was pulled out and he collapsed. It may not have killed him, but that didn't make it any less painful. He closed his eyes as the Covenant forces moved away.

Caleb magnetized his weapons to his beck and walked over to Dekan. He checked for a heartbeat and a pulse, getting both. He activated a private comm to Noble Two. "He's still kickin'. Orders?"

Kat shook her head. "We are lucky to have survived that... I don't have any orders to give yet. At least, not until the rest of Noble gets back up here. Let's just make sure these detonators are all set." Kat suggested.

"Right." Caleb said, giving a nod. "If any of you have biofoam, apply it to his wounds. He's proven to be a worthy ally so far." He stated to the three ODSTs, patching them into his helmet comm. He didn't want to risk any nearby Covenant hearing them say that the supposedly dead Heretic was alive. "And, if you need more reasoning," he began as he stood up to make sure the charges were set. He stated this next part to Romero in particular, as he seemed the most prejudiced out of the three. Jessica was actually rather accepting of their Sangheili ally, and Cutter seemed to see the strategic value in it, so he didn't do much to piss them off. "He was a Zealot. He probably has a ton of information we can utilize."

"I'll believe you when moa fly." Romero whispered under his breath. Cutter let out a sigh. "Just shut the fuck up and let's get to work, 'Romeo'." Cutter replied, twisting Romero's name to make the 'romeo' part. "Fine, Juliet." Romero replied, a sly grin crept over his face, remembering the good times. But back to reality. Jessica walked over to the her fellow ODST's. "Ok you two, let's just finish this job, I want to get off this rock ASAP, and preferably not be in a bodybag." Jessica said to the two. "Ok covie lover." Romero replied as he walked into the facility and took a sniper position in the entryway.

The time was right, there was a human who was isolated enough to kill. Syvo activated his cloaking and snuck up behind Jessica. He ignited his energy sword and the stabbed it through her shoulder, her cry of pain pierced through the semi-silent air (war going on, gunfire yo.) The other ODST's ran over to assist as Syvo's active camo ran out. He picked Jessica up by the neck and threw her into the ground, and seeing as the ODST's were in striking distance, he pimp-smacked both of them straight in the face, breaking there noses. He began to run for the exit as he chuckled at how weak the humans are.

As Syvo made his escape, a red blade pierced through the air seemingly out of nowhere, slicing through one of the Zealots arms before he could even see it coming. Without even giving Syvo time to react, he could feel a strong hand tightly grip his neck and rise him into the air as Bri appeared before him. "Do you have no honor? I saw you sneak away to fulfill this 'duty'. There was an agreement, and you've made a fool of yourself." Bri gripped tighter, not allowing the Zealot to breath as Bri glared at him. "You have disobeyed me, and that. That is something I cannot tolerate." With that, be threw Syvo at full force onto the ground, knocking the wind out of the Zealot as Bri placed his foot on his chest. Bri looked up to see a Demon approaching. He whipped out his Plasma Rifle and fired to keep them at bay. "I should leave you here to suffer. I should leave you at the mercy of the demons. You are in no condition to continue to fight. Or, we can return to the ships, and you can learn from this lesson."

Syvo felt the blade pierce through his arm, he saw Bri appear. He felt something break as he was thrown to the ground and he regained his breath. "I was finishing my mission, the mission my previous leader gave me. As we invaded the human planet of Arcadia my squad leader sent us to kill any civilians in hiding. We found that female in one of the buildings, before she was a solider. Her father however was, and he stood in the ready to greet us. He managed to kill my leader via stealth and my other squad member with his rifle. I killed him and my commanders last order was to finish the job of clearing the home. I haven't had a chance like this before..." Syvo said to Bri, no longer caring what he had to say. Cutter looked over at Romero. "Kill that son of Satan." Cutter ordered Romero, pointing at Syvo. Romero readied his sniper and aimed. "My honor died that day, and yours? It died when you glassed that human city." Syvo said mockingly as he leaned upwards. "You have no honor as well. Hehehe..." Syvo said weakly. Then Romero pulled the trigger on his sniper rifle, the bullet pierced straight through the top of Syvo's head and came back out through his left mandibles. He was dead. Romero then aimed at Bri, but Cutter pushed the sniper rifle to the side. "Let him go, we have an agreement." Cutter whispered into Romero's ear. Cutter then started to walk towards Bri in an unthreatening matter until the ODST stood only five feet away. (Remember, cutters helmet is lost right now, so his face is completely exposed, including the scar.) "Thanks for holding that asshole down. He had been a problem for us since Arcadia. I still can't forgive your species, but I at least understand some of you are redeemable. I will take my leave now, and I suggest you do the same." Cutter said to Bri. He then started to walk back, not fearing the elite. Romero then began to help Jessica with her wounds. She was lying unconscious on the ground with multiple injuries.

Caleb came back from checking the charges to see that none of the ODSTs had taken care of Dekan's wounds. But he also saw that Jessica was wounded and that one of the Zealots he'd seen before outside was now lying dead a bit away. He snatched a spare thing of biofoam from one of the ODSTs and began to apply it to Dekan's wound. "Boss number two." He said to Kat., "I checked the charges, they're all set and ready to blow this place to hell and back."

"It is not my honor that is dead, it is my faith." Bri muttered grimly as he watched Syvo get pierced by a Sniper round, and looked up, eyes narrowing as the Human approached him. After listening to what he had to say, Bri clicked his mandibles, but said nothing as he turned and stalked away, disappearing as his camouflage activated, and he blended into his surroundings. The Zealot had done something dishonorable, but that was not reason to kill him. Yet. Bri looked back once, straight at the one that had the Sniper, the one that had killed Syvo. "Your time is short, Human. Pray while you still can."

Kat watched as Bri disappeared before turning back to Caleb. "Good. Now we just need to wait on Noble 1." She said, and as coincidence strikes, they recieve a signal from Noble Leader.
"This is Noble Leader. We have Dr. Halsey and a new objective. Call in a few Pelicans. We have one more shot." Carter ordered.

Caleb helped support Dekan to his feet as the massive Sangheili groaned, pone arm slung over the SPARTAN-III. "Got it. Calling in the birds now." Caleb said as he put his free hand to his helmet. Dekan managed to kick his helmet up and catch it with his free hand, before he put it back on. "This is Sierra-818, we need evac birds at ONI Sword Base, ASAP." He called, before he turned to Kat. "Did he say Doctor Halsey? Wasn't she listed as K.I.A.?"

"Apparently not." Kat replied. "For all I know, she just criticized the Covenant until they left her alone."
"Was that a joke? Did Kat just make a joke?" Jun asked as the wall opened once more, and the rest of Noble including Dr. Halsey stepped out. "I think it was." Emile laughed. "Zip it." Carter ordered.
"Commander, what is this new objective?" Kat asked. Carter looked at her, but Halsey spoke instead. "You are to deliver a hyper lethal super weapon to the Pillar of Autumn. She must get aboard." Halsey said, a hint of desperation in her voice. Kat looked at Carter for an explanation. "We need to get a new age AI to safety. It's got all the Intel of the entire UNSC, and we can't let the Covenant get a hold of her." Carter explained. "There's our ride." Emile interrupted as several Pelicans hovered down in the Courtyard. "Jun. Escort Dr. Halsey back to base."
"I don't need an escort, Commander." Halsey replied. Carter ignored her. "Keep her safe."
"Will do, Commander." Jun replied as Dr. Halsey made her way to the nearest Pelican, Jun following. "Noble. Let's grab those Pelicans and double time it to the Autumn." Carter ordered, making his way to the second Pelican as Halsey's Pelican took off.

Cutter picked up Jessica and helped her into the pelican while Romero got another canister of Bio-Foam. Cutter placed Jessica down into a seat and Romero applied the Bio foam to her wounds. "Wait, did you saw the autumn? As in, the fucking pillar of autumn?!" Cutter asked seemingly half happy and half having a PTSD induced flashback.

"She's calling our name, boys. Don't say no to her." Emile joked. "You're taking a different route." Carter told Cutter. "Caleb and the Elite is with you. 2, 4, and 6, you're with me. We'll need to get on one of those MAC guns to keep the Covenant off the Autumn's back, and to get the package on board." Carter ordered. He gave a curt nod to Caleb before boarding the Pelican after his crew, and it rose into the air. "Keep a seat warm for me, eh Caleb?" Emile joked into the comms.

Caleb nodded to Carter as Noble Team entered the Pelican. "Understood, sir." The Emile mentioned saving a seat for him. "You got it, Emile." He quipped back, grinning under his helmet. Once their Pelican was off, Caleb-B818 motioned for the others to follow him. "C'mon, let's beat feet, boys! We don't wanna keep the Pillar of Autumn waiting for us, now do we?" He asked rhetorically as he drew his Assault Rifle that he'd collected in the fight. Dekan, although pained, held his remaining Plasma Rifle and the Energy Swords he had re-collected.

"Alright boys. Let's take 'em back." A voice in the front ordered to the two pilots, who responded with a 'Sir, yes, sir!'. The Pelican started to rise into the air, and the cockpit doors closed as a man walked back into it where the others resided.
"Sergeant Avery J. Johnson. Pleasure to make your acquaintance." The Marine said almost jokingly as he stuffed a cigar in his mouth, took a puff, then looked at Dekan. "Hell is he doing here?"

Upon hearing confirmation that they were returning (yes, returning.) to the pillar of autumn, cutter and Romero both pretty much had PTSD induced flashbacks of when it was damaged in orbit around Arcadia by covenant. They could barely recognize what was going on around them, their faces blank and their eyes filled with horror as they remembered basically most of they people they knew dying from the covenant. Meanwhile Jessica awoke to see the Spartans, her squadmates, and a marine. She stood up and walked over to a storage compartment to look for a spare medkit as her head was actually bleeding from colliding with concrete. She couldn't really remember what had happened that caused her to black out, she just felt disoriented and sick. Realizing she couldn't find a medical kit she turned to the nearest spartan, who just so happened to be noble Six. "Hey, ma'am, can you help get those two bozos over there to snap out of whatever daydream they are having? They are quite stubborn when it comes to 'returning to real life'" she asked. She didn't feel like herself though, bigger matters at hand though.

"An asset and an ally, Sergeant-Major." Caleb responded. He'd heard of Johnson before, and from what he'd heard he was one tough son-of-a-bitch. "He may be able to provide valuable intel, and he's been a large help on the field." He then tapped Jessica on the shoulder. "Hey, you still a little woozy?" He asked, chuckling. "Six and Noble Team are gone already, Jessica. They gave us orders to move on through a different route."

(Oh wow I'm dumb sorry)

"I... think I hit my head hard..." Jessica explained, starting to lose her balance. Romero actually stopped having a PTSD flashback and looked around. "Jessica, I think you should sit down, you look like you've got a concussion..." Romero said to her, she then fell backwards into a seat, grasping her still bleeding head.

(Btw the last time I posted was one AM, it is now 3 AM.)

Johnson gave a curt nod at the wounded Elite before noticing Jessica. "I think I've got something for that." He says as he returns to the front, before coming back with a medical kit. "For the pretty lady." He addresses her as he opens the kit, pulling out several bandages. He is about to apply them before he pauses, a small smirk on his face. "May I?" He asks politely to her.

"What do you mean 'evacuating'?" Slade asked the Marine. "Reach is done for, man..." A wounded Soldier nearby groaned as a couple of Nurses lifted him into the air by his cot. "All enlisted wounded personnel are ordered to take an immediate evacuation to the Pillar of Autumn." The Marine repeats, and Slade groans. "I don't believe it." He said blankly. He'd never believed that they'd actually be defeated, that Reach would fall. He figured this was the turning point. Somehow, it wasn't. As two nurses approached Slade to take him into a Pelican, Slade waved them away as he climbed off the cot and started his way out, wincing from his various wounds, but regardless, he wasn't gonna let a bunch of girls carry him around, sexy or not. "Covenant!" A voice yelled, followed by an immediately explosion. "Oh shit..." Slade growled as he pushed himself on, trying to get to an evac ship before it was too late.

"S-Sure..." She said weakly, her head throbbing with excrutiating pain. Romero turned over to cutter who was still in the middle of a flashback and shook him until he stopped having flashbacks. "Come on, wake up." Romero said to him patting him on the back. Cutter shook his head and looked around, he had broken into a cold sweat. "S-Sorry." Cutter apologised and found a spare ODST helmet to put on. He placed it over his head and opened up a comm to Slade. "Hey Slade, how was being carried bridal style?" Cutter joked, looking over at Caleb.

Caleb couldn't help but let out a chuckle at the ODST's joke. Words didn't describe how much the SPARTAN-III enjoyed embarrassing the man. It definitely made his day. Once Johnson finished patching up Jessica, they would have to move out. "Dekan, you think you can move on without any medical attention?" Caleb asked, looking to their Sangheili ally. He nodded in confirmation. "I shall be fine. The... biofoam as you call it, should hold until we get to your ship." Dekan said. He then put his hand to his helmet in an attempt to patch in to Dydo. "This is Dekan. Are you there?"
(@Crunchy-Cucumber)

"Hey, fuck you." Slade said into his new helmet, immediately receiving the transmission. He looked back behind him to see several Marine's holding off a Covenant mass. He turned away and continued his March to the evac. "Hey, you guys headed to the Pillar of Autumn?" He asked Cutter.

"As you wish, your excellency." Bri replied, bowing his head to Thel 'Vadamee before making his exit. He proceeded to a team of Thel's best team of Zealots. "Warriors!" The new Zealot roared. Thel had put this title over Bri, against. Bri's own wishes. The Zealots turned their heads to him. "There are Demons to deal with. They have the holy relic with them. We will crush them." The Zealots nodded in reply, before making their way to a Phantom, Bri following behind.

"All better." Johnson chuckled as he moved off of Jessica after treating her wounds, and returning his cigar to his lips. "Alright ladies. Let's get a move on." Johnson ordered. He looked once again at Dekan. "And you. Who're you talkin' to?" Johnson questioned as Dekan attempted to contact Dydo. Johnson raised an eyebrow as he put a hand on the grip of his Magnum. "Aren't warnin' your covie buddies of our whereabouts, are ya?"

Dekan looked to Sergeant-Major Johnson, and he actually let out a small chuckle. "No, Sergeant-Major. I assure you, I have no desire to follow the broken organization that is the Covenant. There is another 'heretic,' as the Covenant would call us, that I haven't seen since we arrived here, an Ultra." Dekan explained. "Although I understand your precaution." He added. "I can vouch for him on that one, too." Caleb stated. "We picked Dekan up after the Covies started glassing New Alexandria. The ODSTs found Dydo beforehand." The SPARTAN said. Dekan nodded. "The last I saw of him, we had left him at your base for medical attention. I was simply assuring myself that he was still alive. Unfortunately, I have nothing as of yet."

Johnson raised an eyebrow to the story, bit said nothing else as he returned to the front of the ship. Through the frint, they could see the Pillar of Autumn draw near.

Dydo growled, too much had happened too fast. He remembered attempting to follow the ODSTs and the Spartan, then activating his camo, avoiding more covenant, and the next thing he knows he got very turned around and had lost sense of where he was. He nearly shouted in relief when his COMS crackled to life, with a heavy amount of static hinting that he might be underneath something. "Dekan!" He paused, some sort of above ground explosion rattling the ceiling above wherever he was, dust and pebbles bouncing off his armor. He coughed, waving a claw before continuing to shuffle through the dark. "I hate to be the messenger of the obvious, but I seem to be a bit lost. And underground. What is going on?"

Dekan put his hand back to his comm as he received a communication from Dydo. The Sangheili patched Caleb in in the middle of the former Ultra talking, so he had proof that it was Dydo. The SPARTAN instantly recognized it as him. "Dydo, this is Caleb." Caleb stated, feeling it would be better if he briefed him so the Sergeant Major didn't think Dekan was giving the Covenant information. "We've completed our mission at ONI Sword Base and are currently heading to the Pillar of Autumn. I think I saw an empty Banshee back at the base. I'll send you the NAV point." Caleb said as he sent the NAV point.

Dydo hummed, avoiding another falling stone from the ceiling before jogging quickly down the only exit to the room he was in. The darkness caused him to stumble more than once on a large rock or two on the ground, but he turned every time he thought he saw a shift in light. Thank goodness, too, as he managed to exit above ground to witness the still raging chaos. With a hum, he lit his HUD up with a small beacon to the NAV point, and quickly making his way to the vehicle. Of course, how he would follow without getting himself shot down would be a small issue, he was more concerned with leaving the area. He started the machine up, before quickly getting out of the still Covenant infested zone, flying as inconspicuously as possible and trying to keep the others in his sight at the same time.

The Pelican flew into the Pelican docking bay. Crewmen and Marine's alike rushed about as the Pillar of Autumn prepared for takeoff. "Alright ladies, get outta here." Johnson ordered as the back of the Pelican opened.

Noble 6 stood still. After forcing Kat to board the Pelican with Keyes and the package, she'd moved in to the MAC gun, to also check on Emile. He was barely hanging on. The Spartan had just barely checked his motion tracker in time and dodged a lethal blow, but the attack was still nasty. Six got to work, taking out incoming Phantoms as they attempted to block her off from the Covenant Cruiser that was keeping the Autumn from escaping. Carter had sacrificed himself to let the others continue. It seemed as though Kat would be the only survivor of Noble Team.

Using his comm link with Dydo, Caleb-B818 managed to track down the Banshee he was using. He marked it as a friendly target and to be allowed to dock. Dekan was sent to the medical bay and was escorted by a squad of marines. Caleb-B818 walked off and Pelican and waited in the hangar for a new directive, either from Captain Keyes or from another figure of authority.

Dydo followed as close as he dared, edging into range and flying slowly. Seeing as how he hadn't been shot down yet, he deemed it safe enough to maneuver the Banshee and land. He touched down gently, quickly leaping out of the machine, but chose to not move, being surrounded by humans he had to watch himself in case there was a communication error. He was more than happy to simply sit on the Banshee's wings and rest for a moment anyhow.

Another Pelican entered the docking bay, and settled down. Captain Jacob Keyes exited it, followed by several Marine's and ODDT's, and finally, Kat came out. "Sir!" A Marine cried to Keyes. "The MAC gun has just taken out the Cruiser! We have a clear path!"
Keyes nodded and opened a comm signal. "Bridge. This is Captain Keyes. We have an all clear. Get us out of here."
Kat noticed Caleb, him being the only orher Spartan on board, and approached him. Johnson immediately left the group, heading straight for the armory, grumbling as he went something about the Covenant.

This was it. Reach was done for, and they were about to take their leave, as the Autumn began to slowly climb, before taking off like a bullet.

Caleb looked over and gave a nod to Kat as she came over. "So, I take it the others didn't make it, then?" Caleb inquired, although he already knew the answer. Emile, Carter, and Six were all either dead or stayed behind. It was a damn shame to have lost so many. He didn't wait for Kat's reply. "So out of all of us just you, me, and Jun are left." He sighed. He supposed that was the price of war, sacrifices have to be made.

Cutter and Romero helped Jessica out of the pelican and brought her to the medbay, to cutter, it was a relief to see the ship not nearly blown to bits. The sights still haunted him. Romero was enraged that they just left the Spartans behind. You don't leave people behind... After Jessica was in the medbay and recovering Romero and Cutter made their way to the bunks. "How wrong is this war, we are on the brink of exctinction, we are making a blind jump into slipspace... hell, we could be going to see the same fate of the Spirit of Fire for all we know!" Cutter exclaimed, just furious about the whole ordeal. Romero nodded in agreement. "This war shouldn't have happened..." Romero said to himself. "We should at least rest while we can." Cutter said, taking off his helmet and placing it on the ground. And of course by "rest" cutter meant get ready for battle. "Well I need to think about why we left our people there." Romero said, going into deep thought. (I can't wait for when we get to the ring, I'm sorry for breaking character but yeah, also, #flood)

"By now, they'd all be dead." Kat replied calmly, a hint of something else in her voice. "I need to take my mind off this for a while. If you need me, I'll be in the infirmary." She walked away, the bay closed now as they'd already left Reach and we're preparing for a slip space jump.

Slade sat in the crowded mess hall, twiddling his thumbs, watching others go by. He was still a little shocked at the fall of Reach. It had seemed so unbelievable. Not anymore. Hopefully, this would lead the Covenant further from Earth instead of closer. He shook his head as he noticed several people celebrating their escape. Guess you gotta take one when you can.

Six had watched Emile due once the Autumn had left. She was alone. For all she knew the entire planet was devoid of a human soul now. All that is left, is to survive. That's all she can do. This is it. The end.
And so she fought, taking down everything the Covenant could throw at her. She was more dangerous than ever, like a caged wolf. She'd been taught like that, much like the SPARTAN-II's. Wolves. She was a lone wolf. She'd always been one. She was better that way. It was how she'd lived, and it's how she'd die. Her cracked visor was becoming an annoyance, so she pulled it off, throwing it aside as Zealots closed in around her.

Bri watched as several of his Zealots moved in, attempting to dispatch the wounded Demon. They stood no match against her. She quickly dispatched one before two others took her head on. The Demon fell, and the Zealot raised his blade.

Six moved her head to the side as the blade stabbed into the ground where her head had been moments before, and brought up her leg, kicking the Zealots arm, forcing hum to let go of the blade. Six grabbed the sword and dispatched the Zealot holding her down before getting to her feet and killing the second Zealot. Before she could do anymore, however, she felt several blasts of Plasma his her, and she dropped the sword as two more Zealots grabbed her arms.

Bri was truly impressed. Three of some of the best warriors Thel Vadamee had to offer were dead at a single demons feet, but the last two Zealots had a hold of her arms, holding her in place. "Leader." One gave a nod to Bri, who ignited his red energy sword, taking a step forward to the defeated Demon. For years, Bri had dreamed of facing a Demon before, but now he felt different. He was facing something that he'd never feared before, until now. He would betray his oath. He would turn on everything he had worked for. He would become a heretic. As long as the Prophets lived, Bri would not stop until they were dead.

Six's vision clouded. She had no strength left. Her shields were damaged beyond repair, her armor melted oddly by plasma fire. Her face bloodied and bruised. She looked up at the Zealot approaching her. She'd never expected it to end like this.

Bri grabbed a device on his thigh, and activated it. He watched as the EMP silently worked, and his HUD deactivated. He noticed several other Covenant acting in confusion. This way, the Covenant need not to learn of this action he was about to perform.

Bri raised his blade, and sliced horizontally, watching as the heads of his Zealot brothers were detached from their bodies. The Demon fell, and Bri quickly grabbed her, putting away his blade as he pulled out his Plasma Rifle, firing back at the Covenant troops. None of them were to survive if Bri's plan were to succeed.

(And so, our first chapter ends. Reach is over, and Halo Combat Evolved must begin. Yes, Six survives Reach, like Kat, but I couldn't actually think of a justifiable way to save Carter or Emile. Jun might not appear again it depends. Welcome to Chapter 2, everyone.)

Caleb looked over and saw Dydo sitting on the wing of the Banshee. He'd notified Captain Keyes on him and Dekan, so the crew should also be aware of their assistance to the UNSC. "Hey, Dydo." He called. "The marines on board should know that you're friendly. You might get funny looks, but there shouldn't be any confrontations." He informed, before heading to the armory. Once he was there, he loaded all of his weapons. After triple-checking them, he magnetized them to their proper places and went to the cafeteria. He saw others were celebrating their escape from Reach. He understood why. They were lucky to have escaped, after all. But, he was feeling down. Carter, Emile, and Six were all dead. Jun probably made it, and Kat was on board the ship, so it wasn't all bad. But he couldn't help but feel down. "Guess I'll be keeping that seat warm for a while, my man..."

Cutter decided to go to the cafeteria, there he saw Slade. "Hey slade." He said solemnly as he sat down next to him. Cutter really was going through some tough sh.t. "How was your ride here?" He asked.

"Bumpy." Slade answered after thinking for a second. He looked over at Cutter. "You still owe me a new personal Assault Rifle after that shit you pulled on Harmony, you know." Slade grinned before leaning back. "What now? We escaped, and we're gonna come somewhere new. What if this new place just so happens to be the Covenant home world or something? What if we're doomed?" He asked, furrow in his eyebrows.

Caleb looked around the cafeteria from the bench he sat at, which was empty save for him. He let out a sigh as he stood up. He supposed he'd best find Captain Keyes and ask him what he wanted the SPARTAN-III to do now. He'd probably want him in cryogenic stasis for the time being. Caleb left the cafeteria and made his way to the bridge. Once he made his way there, he saw Captain Keyes. "Captain." He nodded. "There anything you need, or would like for, me to do?"

Keyes turned to look at Caleb. "Not right now, Spartan. You've earned a break. Rest up, it'll be about 12 hours before we arrive at our destination." With that, Captain Keyes turned back to the monitor. The package that Noble Team delivered now sat, empty, nearby.

Caleb noticed the package. It gave him at least some reassurance that Noble's sacrifice had not been in vain. Caleb turned his head back to Captain Keyes. "Yes, sir. Thank you, sir." He said, before he turned and started to make his way back to the cafeteria. If he had been there, perhaps another member of Noble could have been there instead of him. Admittedly, Caleb would've preferred that. But, Carter gave his orders. That was how it had played out. There was no point in thinking about what could've happened. He decided to move on. Granted, it would probably take a while before he did. However, he would over time.

Kat, however, was worse off. She stood alone in Cryobay 2, looking at the wounded female Spartan inside. Spartan Linda. Kat didn't know her. They were both from separate programs. But it still hurt Kat. If a SPARTAN-II like Linda, and Jorge were left like this, Kat could not assure herself that somehow Carter had made it out alive. She wanted a way to pay tribute to her late Commander. They'd been through so much together, for it to end like this. She gave a shake of her head, and turned away. Her helmet was still in her hand, and with a small outburst of rage, she threw her helmet at the wall. It bounced harmlessly off, rolling around and coming to rest back at her feet. She needed to find a way to calm herself, and the only solution she could come up with was either cryosleep, or combat. Since the latter isn't an option right now, her mind settled on a much needed sleep in a cryotube.

Bri grunted in satisfaction at the dead bodies scattered about before finally returning his attention to the Demon. "Take it, before I change my mind." Bri ordered, holding out a hand, which the Demon cautiously took before being hauled to her feet. Bri let go of her hand and started to make his way towards the human mortar, or whatever it is.

Six watched as the Zealot started to make his leave. "Wait!" She called out, and he froze. "Why did you help me?"

Bri was troubled by the same question. Why had he helped her? Because the Covenant was an organization of lies and deception? It's beliefs built on war and death? He could have ended the Demon here along with the troops. That would have meant one less Demon to deal with, but yet... here he is, and here is she.

Six received no answer from the Zealot, and he began to walk away again, until he finally spoke. "You had best return to your friend and get him help, or he will not hang on much longer." Bri said. "Who, Emile?" Six asked.
"If you mean the male Demon with a skull for a face, then yes. Emile." Bri replied.
