Private/Closed Kyogre Lake Academy (Discussion/Character Creation)

Reese’s character arc I figure will be one of relearning how to deeply connect with others and learn to understand her own emotions. Whenever something goes wrong she tends to just laugh it off like it’s nothing and she hasn’t developed any healthy coping mechanisms, and she wears her heart on her sleeve, very shallow emotionally. Learning to connect with people on a deeper level than just making friends for a few months and moving again just for the sake of fitting in momentarily would be an ideal arc, I think… although knowing my indecision it’ll probably change five times before it comes time to actually write lol

I'm down it that idea

For June my plan for the first time skip is to make her more bitter as she starts falling behind no matter how much she trains. Her overall arc will center on themes of evolution/discovery(similar to how a new technology can give society a huge leap forward) instead of slow growth(similar to how working out slowly builds muscles). I think it would be a neat subversion of the underdog story, showing how its not always about grit but also that stumbling upon things by luck plays a big factor.

I plan to just have Del become cheer captain, get good enough to join BASICS, man that boy is stupid, catch 1 more pokemon, and develop his relationship with Connor a little more before the timeskip, unless we're doingthe timeskip within the next week, which I'm fine with.
After the timeskip, I think Del will be smart enough to have just entered the advanced class

Ok so inital thought over time skip. Charlie will be of course training her pokemon, Joule will more than likely be an ampharos. I want her to get more familiar with the other trainers, and possible idea, what if Raphiel transfers to Groudon academy. I'll explain why later. What time does the time skip plan on ending. Like when we skip, what time will it be afterwards, I assume it'll be morning of that day right. I might start it off with Charlie in an unofficial tournament with some other students which the prize for winning will be her next pokemon.

Yeah, I'd say the morning.

And I'll give a bit to Charlie's arc, essentially battling is her main thing, she's donebit all her life, and she has sort of an inferiority conplex because she wasn't invited to school because of her battling ability, exclusively because of her dad being a gym leader. And she'll probably get hurt allot while chasing the dream of beating those who are here for their skill.

That was intense lol, seeing that no character in the arena is in fit conditon to battle I will probably craft up a vs npc battle myself
Oh shit right....I forgot about that, my bad lol, I got too into writing it and forgot we planned on having June and Charlie battle. Sorry about that

Edit: also I might give Charlie less character development so she gets a moment to be fun and happy instead of super intense and determined/sad/injured.

We can still go with the Kyogre and Groudon mech idea, but maybe we should make it so that the goal is to prevent them from being used rather than have them duke it out, because if we did the latter we’d have to explain why only these kids are dealing with it
Did we get permission? Also we could always make it like a “everyone in the area evacuated” type deal. Or there’s like an underground bunker or something where they all take cover but the “heroes” decide to try and fight it off along with Hanzo

1. No, I guess we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it (also I have no idea how to phrase it or who to send the request to)
2. I mean like if the mechs are unleashed then they’d probably get people more qualified (like the elite fours or champions or something) to deal with it and not our characters

Probably Stellarwind Would be the one to DM about that.

Also, in the moment of the event the champions wouldn’t just be there, they’d have to be called there and such, and for them to get there it would probably take a while. I mean it took us like what… half a day to get from the mainland to the island, so it would at least take 3 hours for the elites to get their by air. That + there’s two of these, in two separate locations. I feel like the e4 plus champion + gym leaders could handle the Groudon mech, and us + Hanzo could handle the Kyogre Mech.
