Private/Closed Naruto AU: Roleplay

Takato blinked as apparently he had been recruited to this "Team Sagiso" or "Team Mist" depending on which of the two...annoying personalities were calling the shots. While Takato would rather not, they were asked to form teams anyway and if he had been caught avoiding this duty he'd likely get rung over by the Clan Head over it. Which was one pain the neck he'd need to avoid as he let out a sigh.

"Fine. Whatever, My name is Takato. Of the Nara Clan. I don't you have a plan here? Seems like we can't even agree on a team name or leader." Takato pointed out as he addressed Sagiso. Ignoring the banter between Shura and some other Konoha genin Azumi fought in the finals. If this group could not resolve this issue, it didn't matter how precise & perfect the rest of the team structure was; a team with two leaders that tried to give orders over the other was one not built to last.

-----------
"Um, okay. I see how that might work but are you sure this is a wise decision?"

"Wise? Can't say that for sure. But I do know it will likely work if done right and quite frankly we don't have any better options at the moment. We are in a hurry."

Madoka made her proposition to place some tubes within Tomiko's arms to infuse artificial chakra into them; acting both to heal damaged cells and to allow Tomiko some access for ninjutsu. Of course, once this chakra would run out Tomiko's arms would be moved back to their weakened original condition, but it was something that could offer Tomiko a chance to help. Though Madoka needed a skilled Medical-nin to help with that.

Sakura seemed reluctant, as she had never done a full blown surgery before. However Madoka's assurence combined with Tomiko's intervention & insistence soon broke down her concerns as she let out a sigh.

"Okay, but this is gonna be tricky. So we need to approach this carefully. Understand?" Sakura asked as both Madoka & Tomiko gave a nod before Sakura faced Tomiko.

"Okay, this is gonna be painful so it'd be better if we put you out for the time needed. So...sweet dreams." Sakura said and before Tomiko had a chance to respond Sakura sprayed the Iwa-nin's face with a narcoleptic chemical that soon caused Tomiko to fall limp against Madoka as she began to softly snore. Sakura then turned to Kenji and the others.

"Okay, we're gonna to an operation on Tomiko. We should be done within the hour. Then we can divide into teams and set off." Sakura explained as Madoka carried Tomiko over their shoulder and they dashed inside the Hyuga Compound as they sought out a medical room or the best equivalent to begin their work on Tomiko's arms.

Kenji realized he was left with two foreign strangers and the wild girl in Aisha as he let out a sigh before he faced Mori as he made some comment about Tomiko that caused him to grow curious.

"Future linked to hers? What are you talking about?" Kenji asked Mori as Aisha just gave the pair a curious inspection while her wolves Luna & Sky began to sniff them curiously.

Though Luna seemed to turn her head at a certain Hyuga who seemed to be observing them, which made the wolf curious as she kept her gaze at them.

-----------
Azumi's eyes widened as she turned behind her as the explosion in the tree caused it to topple over. As Azumi moved over to the puddle the tree seemingly fell on her as for a moment it appeared that Azumi had been crushed to death.

Crack!

Only for Azumi's umbrella to crack through the tree as it appeared out of the puddle. Azumi having used a jutsu to place herself within the puddle which in effect shielded herself from the falling lumber. Azumi emerged from the puddle as she quickly scanned the area only to see that Harmony had vanished. Azumi frowned as she kept her guard up as she turned to Reaver.

"I'm uncertain of he left or not. Keep your guard up and see if you sense his presence anywhere." Azumi said as she formed a second water clone and ordered it to scan the area as she tried to find Harmony more so to confirm whether or not he had left them or was simply hiding to plan his next move against them.

Sagisō

Brow furrowed slightly as she recognized the figure that had burst through the gates, Sagisō straightened her back, dropping her chakram allowing them to seemingly disappear into the wrist warmers she wore. With a distinct look, she glanced at Furījia and nodded subtly.

Next, she turned her gaze to Takato, "It'll work out because we have the same objective. Think of it more like a team with an independent tag-along. In any case, we should get going, we'll need to meet up with Kai before we leave the village."

With that said she strolled through the gates of the Hyūga compound, heading towards the village gates.

Furījia

Noticing the signal Sagisō had flashed her, Furījia cleared her throat, "Stand down...he's not a threat." The Hyūga around her looked suspicious but they still withdrew, allowing Taiyo some freedom. Pacing over to the leaf ninja, Furījia sighed, "No one will stop you from recruiting, but you'll want to get some smoke signals from the warehouse." She gestured to the warehouse in the distance before calling over Lily and Yusa, "We'll be departing now, so cya at camp."

With that her figure flashed onto a nearby roof, she waved once more at Taiyo before departing across the platform of roofs.

Kai has stopped mid his eureka moment, looking back to see if his group was on it’s way. Indeed it was, team mist was approaching the gates, no doubt within earshot. He cleared his throat and stood up, but not looking at them, keeping his eyes on the forest.

“The sound was hear, with Kiro no doubt.” Kai said, raising his voice so that they could hear. “They have scampered off into the trees, varying many things due to the weight of their impressions. No doubt relics of other valuables from the village. This is where our chase begins.”

Kai turned around to meet his team as they closed the distance, he awaited their response to his claim and proposal.

.....

Reaver cringed as he saw the explosive tag about to go off. As his target vanished inches away from him, the Katana still swinging his way, he prepared a new tactic. The katana slid ont his head, folding and shaping into a new metal like pattern. It covered his head and neck from athe explosion, as he held up the axe defensively for the rest of the body.

As the tag exploded, the branch he was on was the only thing that seemed to take damage, as he fell off of it and hit the ground. He groaned, getting up, taking the metal off of his face and rubbing his back.

“Yeah...I got that sense!”

Reaver hates going into battle without his suit. It was as if a part of him wasn’t in the fight, or rather he felt incomplete without it. Reaver couldn’t wait until he got it operational again.

Taiyo
The Leaf-nin waved goodbye to Furijia as she left, inwardly facepalming at the fact that through all the confusion and panic, he still don't apologize to Furijia for making her cry. Taiyo noticed that she seemed to have forgiven him, but he didn't accept it, he couldn't accept it. He hurt her and until he made amends, he could never find satisfaction with himself. Regardless, Taiyo traveled to the warehouse for the signals.

"In a few years, she might become Tsuchikage and I might become the advisor of my Tsuchikage. Does that explain it?" Mori kept an eye on the wolves, he was not scared of them but as they seemed to listen to the girl with those crimson teeth on her face, an Inuzuka, he was not going to let his guard down any time soon.

Especially since he was in the compound of one of the four noble clans of Konoha. Every single Hyūga here was tense to the bone and could kill him for something like reaching for his kunai pouch, not that he could blame them. Tomiko was being operated on and had a Konoha kunoichi with her, so she was safe. Not that he was gonna run inside to her to keep her safe, he would spring a bunch of traps and contaminate the surgery. Madoka and Yasu were safe too since Suna had an alliance with Konoha and the Hyūga would not risk that alliance, would they?

Mori sighed as he realised the situation he was in. Outmatched, outnumbered and in a village that was not friends with Iwa, but then again what villages were friends with Iwa? He sat down on the ground and began to meditate, he would need the chakra for this operation that he could only assume was a tracking mission to find the attackers. Besides, if the Hyūga or another clan wanted to kill him, he knew better than trying to resist or to seem like a threat. All that he could do now was wait and hope that he would not open his eyes to swords against his throat. "If I still was a sceptic of Tomiko's dream like I was in the Academy, I would not be knee-deep in this pile of dung. Good going Utamara, really thought this out well."

Shura followed Sagiso thought the gate and was about to leave but Shiho ran up the the gate before he could jump away. "Hey bro! What about me?" She asked. "Do what you want, just don't grope anyone!" Shura shouted as he dashed off. "No Promises!" Shiho shouted back before walking back and turning towards Taiyo. She then went up to him and put her arm around his shoulder. "Hey man, you said you were looking for teammates right? Well I'm free." She said casually.

Arriving at the front gate of the village, Shura saw Kai there and heard what he had to say. "Huh, this moron was actually useful" He thought to himself as he arrived.

When Shiho wrapped her hand around Taiyo, he was unsure what to think of this stranger. He shrugged at the suggestion and decided why not, as it was just him and Raiku.
"Fine, as long as you prove yourself useful in some way," Taiyo smiled at the new recruit and started gathering signals.
"In fact, you can help me get some signals right now,"

Sagisō

Slightly skeptical of these discoveries Kai had managed to make in the 30 second head start he'd gotten, the Nadeshiko Byakugan princess filled her lungs with air as she prepared to give Kai 101 reasons why this might not be where the sound had departed from. She raised her finger to deliver the first point, when her eyes fell onto the field of footprints being the hunter-nin. At that moment, her mind seamlessly connected the word impressions to the departing footprints. She merely nodded in agreement with the hunternin, swallowing a sarcastic comment that lingered on her tongue. "Lead the way."

Furījia

To be perfectly honest, Furījia didn't quite know where to start with her search. The sound could've fled in any direction and they were long outside the range of her Byakugan by now, however, she did.know that the sound had invaded with 2 Jinchuriki in tow, and they tended to leak to chakra of the tailed beasts whenever they went on a rampage. It might've been faint, but there'd certainly be a trail leaving the village which happened to contain noticeably stronger and odder chakra. All she needed now was to locate said trail; luckily she just so happened to have the best eyes for the job.

A short moment later Furījia departed the village, following the trail of a particularly strong thread of water natured chakra. Although she was unaware, she'd caught the trail of Yukimaru's version 1 cloak and some of Isobu's chakra which had yet to dissipate.

Yusa was following behind Fujira, followed by Lily who was disappointed with not having any chakra at the moment, she could speed up her movements more. Lily saw that Fujira had picked up something, Yusa thinking the same thing and so they followed her lead. “Wonder what she picked up, it must be strong.”

"Tsuchikage? Pretty ambitious goal there." Kenji admitted as he heard Mori's reasoning for following Tomiko. Appeared that Mori seemed content with being sub-servant or at least under the direct orders of Tomiko. Though his focus shifted from that to some meditation that Mori began to do before him though this curious moment only became weirder when Aisha did a hand stand and moved in front of Mori.

"Are you trying to become one with the spirits?" Aisha asked, as this was something she had learned in the woods; to assume a relaxed position and focus only on one's surroundings to get "in tune" with the spirits of nature around her. One had to take Aisha's word on it as there was no way to confirm whether she could see the spirits or had simply been exaggerating. Though it appeared Aisha assumed Mori was doing something similar as his relaxed position was a meditative pose while Aisha's seemed to be a hand stand.

How anyone could be relaxed doing that escaped Kenji's reasoning, but it seemed this Inuzuka was just full of surprises. Luna & Sky in turn kept their gaze on Mori and Yasu but they seemed to be growing a bit more comfortable around the two.

-----------
"Alright, you got her laid out?"

"I think so. Didn't expect your friend to snore this loud."

"You are a medical ninja about to help with an operation and that is what you decide to focus on?"

"Just an observation. Least she is breathing, so the narcotic worked. That means we can move ahead."

Sakura & Madoka had laid out the snoring Tomiko on a table in an open medical room within the Hyuga Compound. Madoka got her chakra rubes out and prepared some threads while Sakura got what medical supplies she could get on as they first strapped the slumbering Iwa-nin to the table to keep her secure before they would begin with the operation.

Madoka explained that the tubes needed to be inserted in precise parts of Tomiko's arms, at which Sakura nodded as she gave percise cuts to certain areas of Tomiko's arms to get through the skin as they began to careful process of leading the tubes through Tomiko's arms.

Tomiko's snoring implied that she felt no pain during this operation. Which was a good sign, though her snoring began to die down a little though it was for reasons neither Sakura or Madoka would have assumed.

"Why are you even bothering with this? Do you think making yourself a Frankenstein project is gonna change anything?"
Tomiko wandered through the darkness of her deep subconscious, not that the Iwa-nin had been aware of this to a degree though a familiar, judgmental voice in the air as she glanced behind her and were greeted by the crimson red eyes of the Sharingan that Kiro flashed before her as Tomiko assumed a fighting stance...though she took note her arms seemed damaged still just as there were in the real world as Kiro shook his head in response.

"Don't bother, even if they were healed it wouldn't matter much. What do you think you are going to achieve? Getting some temporary use out of your arms doesn't negate the fact that you are too weak to make a difference here. All you are good for is getting a beating and stubbornly getting back up. Have you not been taught your lesson by this point? If not from me then that Oto-nin who took you down with one shot. And there's plenty more of them if you take part of this mission." Kiro pointed out as Tomiko glared at the Uchiha before her as she kept her guard up...no matter how impractical it appeared given their condition.

"Okay, and what's your point with all this?" Tomiko asked as Kiro had an amused grin as he shook his head and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"My my you are oblivious. Fine I guess I'll spell it out. If you get involved with this those Oto-nin will beat you down and at best you'll walk back out a cripple. Can't you see that something of this scale requires the beast of the beast to achieve? Ninja with actual talent and promise needed when stacked up to invading forces of a nation of Konoha's caliber. Someone the polar opposite of you. You'll only get in the way and perhaps be not just a danger to yourself but also a liability to your newfound teammates. Why can't you just understand your limitations and stay out of matters that do not concern you? Do you enjoy getting humbled by those ninja with what it takes to actual make an impact in this world that much?" Kiro asked Tomiko, who remained silent as she listened to his scolding speech directed at her.

-----------
Takato let out a sigh as he had nothing more to offer but a nod to Sagiso as he tailed the Hyuga to the village gates while he kept an ear focused on Kai's observations as he seemed to try and assume the leadership role from Sagiso once more. Something that he suspected would be common between the two which would only annoy him all the more.

"Seems like they are traveling with some cargo, if your observations are held true. Which might slow their progress depending on the number or even what the items they have along are." Takato added based off Kai's general description of the scene as he scanned ahead to where they were to give "chase" as Kai put it.

----------
"Is there any reason why it feels like we have made zero fucking progress! It feels like we are going in circles around here as I've seen the same trees over and over again!"

The loud, irradiated voice of Tayuya would naturally be heard by her party around her as the Sound continued their retreat from Konoha. In truth Tayuya was quite irritated in general given how poorly things seemed to have gone for them as they left the village they sought to destroy with their tails between their legs instead. Given the fact they seemed to be moving at an oddly slow pace and it all equated to quite the fuel for an already temperamental kunoichi which did not make things better for the eardrums of her teammates.

"I am meditating to regain chakra and to prevent anxiety taking over my mind, I will need it. I wish I could become one with the spirits but I doubt that I am capable of that. And you are not the only one to say that Tomiko is ambitious but I am sure she can reach her goal, and I am willing to do anything to help her reach her goals. All I can do now is wait and hope that she returns alive." Mori sighed and returned to meditating before asking a question for the strangers talking to him.

"Why are you so interested in me? Iwa is not close to anyone, if anything I'd expect to be avoided and maybe attacked whilst I am here. Don't you two need to prepare for this mission?" Mori was surprisingly calm for his actions, the meditation seemed to be very efficient at calming his nerves. "Tomiko. No matter what happens after this surgery, I will protect and serve you. You will become Tsuchikage, even if it costs me my life."

“We’ve been going at a smooth pace Tayuya, calm down. You should really think about your manners before you speak.” Jirobo started.

“We started late, it only feels like it.” Sakon rolled his eyes. “I’m afraid we’ll have to stop for the night to camp soon. Ukon, signal the rest.”

Ukon silently complied, unfolding the scroll Sakon had on his back and activating one of the seals on it. While they couldn’t speak to the other team, a signal along would work just fine.

........

Kabuto’s gloves flew slightly red, a tiny symbol that had been crafted on it glew in the dark sunset. It was from the sound four’s team. It was time to rest. Sakon nodded and put a very minor amount of chakra into the symbol as it notified the rest of the teams.

.......

The convoy of sound ninja carrying the twin caskets cane to a stop, lying down their master’s cart on the ground. Then they had begun laying traps and seals as to firmly secure it. Zaku priced together that it was time to stop and camp for the night, which he couldn’t complain about. He was still nursing some wounds he got from Katsuo during the finals.

“Heh, about time. I was getting antsy.” Zaku spoke, stretching a cramp muscle. “Alright kid, lets find a spot to rest.”

Kou breathes heavily, glad that the convoy had stopped. He was so lightheaded from the punch dosu had given him earlier, he felt as if he were to collapse. He leaned on a nearby tree, and not a second later, fell asleep instantly. Zaku just smirked and shook his head. The little rascal must have been tired, heh.

Zaku looked over to Kiro, cocking his head to the side, a sly grin spreading across his face. “Do Uchiha’s Know how to sleep or do they just brood all night?@

......

Kai nodded his head, fully aware that he had intel and expertise that surpassed his team. As it should be. Now the team would follow his lead, team leader on front, as he he lept up onto a tree branch and tracked the movements of where the enemies have gone.

There seemed to be a massive amount of footprints, as if there were many of the moving out in that one secluded location. That couldn’t be right, as at the main area they gathered, there weren’t nearly as many prints and markings...unless this was a diversion.

To the untrained eye, the markings on the trees seemed to be accidental, giving where the enemy was going. But Kai knew better, they cuts not eh trees and knicks in the brush were purposeful, as no one would intentionally make cuts THAT deep or precise. They were trying to throw them off.

Instead, Kai followed the traces that were fainter, which no doubt was where the TRUE location of the sound would be. A hunter nin wouldn’t be fooled so easily

Seeing Kai jump up onto a tree branch and then going off in a certain direction, Shura then did the sam and jumped onto a tree brach and looked around. He also noticed the clump of footprints and cuts on the trees and bushes. "Those markings are too obvious, obviously a diversion to lead us down the wrong path, I don't even need the Byakugan to see this." He thought to himself before glancing at Kai. "This guy isn't as dumb as he seems." He thought before glancing back towards Sagiso and Takato making a motion with his head for them to come up.

Shiho had already walked into the shed and quickly came out with the needed signals. "Now that we have this covered, let's get going." She said excitedly.

The Leaf-genin had gathered a few extra signals in case if they were nessesary, since it was better to be safe than sorry, especially in the ninja world where being sorry can mean death.
"Okay perfect, I'll use some to let my teammate, Raiku now where we are," Taiyo told Shiho as he began to fiddle around with the signals to see how they worked.
Took longer than I would have hoped, but finally, I'll be able to head off.

Raiku has decided to go looking for other members but then realized that if he left his position then taiyo wouldn’t know where he was. So he decided to get some smoke signals first and along the way he saw someone heading towards the caves. He decided to wait a bit and then he overheard what he said to a group of people. A few moments later Raiku saw a signal and headed towards it to which he found taiyo and a young ninja.

“Oh cool you got someone that’s great. Hey I found some people who know where the sound went. I say we follow them.”

He turned around before immediately turning back around. “By the way kid, my name’s Raiku. And you better get ready to move fast cuz it’s getting dark, and nighttime is the perfect time to strike.” Then he started following the group he saw and signaled Taiyo and Shiho to follow.

Shiho waived at Raiku with a smile. "You must be Taiyo's teammate. Hi there, I'm Shiho." She responded when he introduced himself. She then started following him when he started moving. "So where are we going?" She asked.

Raiku stopped and pointed in the direction he saw kai go.

“See there? I heard someone saying the sound’s in that direction. From his mask I can tell he was a hunter-nin of the mist, and those are good at tracking. Heading in that direction will probably be our best bet. Since it’s night they might be resting and that’ll leave us some more time to catch up. We can rest if you get tired but only till dawn. Did you get all that Shiho?” Raiku asked, looking back at the Hyuga.

Sagisō

Following suite, the kunoichi took to the trees, performing high, long jumps that allowed her optimal air time and more importantly the least energy expenditure. She activate do her Byakugan briefly, scanning the area ahead of them for stragglers, but, as she'd expected, she found none. Although the byakugan didn't consume as much chakra as the sharingan, it was still a steady drain on her chakra reserves. One she would avoid given the opportunity. "It's getting darker, so be more mindful of traps."

After a short warning, Sagisō returned to silence, opting instead to observe their surroundings as well as watch for any smoke signals.

Furījia

Finding herself without much to do during travel, Furījia decided to engage in some small talk, "Any guesses on how far ahead they got?"

She was, of course, referring to the sound shinobi they were chasing and she was leaving the question for anyone to pick up, whether Yusa or Lily.

Shiho listened to Raiku's explanation then put her hand on her chin and thought for a bit before looking at Raiku and nodding. "Yeah I get what you said, follow Hunter-nin, resting at night, time to catch up, that direction and only resting until dawn." The young Hyuga summarized briefly.

Shura nodded towards Sagiso when she told them to watch out for traps. He then glanced back behind him and saw Shiho's group. "Huh, there's Shiho and she found herself a team. Good to see her helping out" He thought.

Mori had manage to talk Yasu into this meditation garbage, but it wasn't working. All he could do was worry about Tomiko. She was on the other side of that door, with trust friends at least, but still. He had no say in what happened to her, or if anything went wrong. All he was capable of doing was sitting here like a moron.

Tomiko you better come out of this damned surgery alright, I'll kill Madoka if she screws up your arms... But still, I need to follow you no matter what. You make me feel something I've never felt before, I don't know how to describe it. Damnit! What the hell is wrong with me!

As Raiku was explaining the scenario, Taiyo was half paying attention and half daydreaming. Long explanations weren't exactly his bread and butter. hence why at his academy he needed 5 separate tutors for one subject. He was used to being called 'dumb' or a 'slow learner' but in truth, those guys took way too long to explain simple concepts. That's why when Shiho summarized it for him, he perked up and nodded, now in full understanding of what his circumstance was.
"Alright then, let's set out to find those sound bastards and kick them back to the ugly hole of a village they spawned from," The Leaf-nin cracked his knuckles and started to do mini-jabs in the air, which was a clear sign to anyone about how he was fired up about something.

Raiku grinned though it was hidden by his mask so he gave a thumbs up to Taiyo.

"Let's get moving."

He started jumping through the trees but slowly for a while so the others would catch up.

"Hey Shiho, what are your hobbies?"

Raiku figured since there wasn't gonna be much to do while trying to reach the sound that talking would make the chase less boring.

Shiho turned towards Taiyo. "Remember this is a information gathering mission, don't get too fired up." She said. she would then start following Raiku through the trees. She heard Raiku ask about her hobbies. "This is a weird time to ask that but well, I like eating sweets and messing around and having fun." Shiho said. "but my favorite hobby is to look at breast and judge how they look. I'm pretty good at it too." She added casually.

Raiku stopped jumping through the trees and turned to Shiho. He looked very carefully at her and looked up and down.

This is a girl right? Not a dude, not a trap... right?

He sighed and closed his eyes.

"That's... pretty cool. I like sweets too... I recommend you read Icha Icha by the way if you haven't already..."

He turned around and tried erasing this moment from his memory, but inevitably failed.

"Sorry for pausing let's keep on going."

Once more he started jumping through the trees in the direction he think the Sound went.

Taiyo
After being told not to get too excited, Taiyo's shoulders slightly slumped, as he disliked being told how to think. Regardless, he shook it off and followed Raiku in the trees.
"Okay that's a little weird, but you do you Shiho," Those words were the Leaf-nin's reaction to Ship's weird habit of groping other girls.
I might have chosen the wrong person to join our team, and I might have to call Tsuki to help her realize why that is not okay.
"Well since we're sharing hobbies, I guess mine is fighting, I love the rush I feel every time I trade fists with another ninja, whether it's a friendly spar or an all out fight to the finish. Regardless, there's just nothing like it,"

Takato was mindful of traps, even without Sagiso's clarification of that point but the Nara-nin supposed that it was good that somebody seemed to try and account for the group's safety as he hopped from tree branch to tree branch. Takato took note of the sun as it began to set, which might be problematic as his shadows required shadows and he had no way to know if he could use his art effectively in complete darkness. Though that had been far from the only observation he made.

"Getting dark, which likely means that the Oto-convoy will be bound to set up camp for rest. That could provide opportunity to make up some ground." Takato explained to the group as he kept hoping from branch to branch as he followed the group.

----------
"Okay, gently slide it there. Don't want to dig into additional muscle."

"Got it, alright. I think I've got them in now. Just need to help pump chakra into them and we should be good to go."

"Alright, I'll go find a food pill to give you the lost chakra."

Sakura & Madoka had worked as quickly, but also as carefully, as they could as they managed to get the chakra tubes inside as Madoka began to pump her own chakra through them to help connect to Tomiko's own chakra network while Sakura retrieved a military food pill to act as a supplement. In theory, this process should not take much longer though the fact that Tomiko's once loud snoring had been reduced to silent was unusual; given that her vitals appeared normal Sakura had to question what caused this silence.

"So what? There's no requirement needed to help a friend."
Tomiko continued her glare at Kiro, as she had taken in each and every word the Uchiha told her. It was true, she wasn't anything special beyond being stubbornly resilient and that itself hadn't gotten her very far. But with that said, Tomiko knew she could still help and she wasn't as useless as Kiro claimed she was. Granted, a lot of this banked on Madoka & Sakura being able to help her arms but she had trust in her friend that they could get it done. Though part of it was the confidence she had in herself, that confidence that had yet to be totally snuffed out by the doubt that seemed to manifest from Kiro's words.

And her faith seemed rewarded as suddenly she felt a surge of additional chakra go into her arms, as they seemed to shine and glow in her mental landscape as she began to inspect them. Tomiko could...could feel more life return to them as she knew then and there Madoka had done it as she turned to the scowling Kiro with a smirk.

"And if I am such a liability, seems odd that others would waste time on getting me in fighting shape? In spite of my protests, if they really felt I'd get in the way they would have left me behind to go on it. It's clear they think I can help, and no matter what you think I'll show you that I am not as worthless as you think I am." Tomiko said with renewed vigor to Kiro who simple shot an ice-cold glare at her before he began to chuckle while he slowly began to fade; scoffing at her words.

"You really are a fool. I look forward to seeing reality knock you down to the dirt where you belong."
Eventually, the door opened up as Sakura, Madoka and Tomiko walked out. Tomiko had some sowed up stitches along her arms though their appearance was obscured by the metalic gauntlets with rubber covers that Madoka brought along for Tomiko to use. Tomiko eyed Yasu, Mori, Kenji, Aisha and the wolves as she slammed her gauntlets together and smirked at them.

"Well, let's get going! We don't have all day." Tomiko said with her usual pep but before she could take off Madoka grabbed her by the collar.

"Easy there, we need to decide what teams to form. a 7 man cell is asking to get spotted." Madoka clarified to the Iwa-nin who let out a sigh but understood that she had a point.

----------
"Oh go suck a fat one!" Tayuya cursed at Jirobo before she saw Ukon send a signal to the other groups to set up came for the night. Much as Tayuya hated the idea of stopping, she understood that running in total darkness was a poor decision and they needed rest.

"Got a spot to rest in mind?" Tayuya asked Sakon as she scanned their current area to try and spot a suitable spot.

----------
Azumi's clone returned and informed the original that the attacker was no where to be seen. This along with Azumi's own observations had been insurance enough as she dispelled the clone and placed the umbrella on her back before she jumped to a branch as she eyed Reaver below.

"Let's get moving, we need to set up camp before night fall." Azumi explained to the Ame-nin as she moved along to try and find a place to set up camp for the night.

Mori stood up and had a 1000 watt smile on his face, Tomiko had survived and was healthy by the looks of it! "Tomiko! You're alright!" He ran at Tomiko to give her a hug but realised her arms probably still hurt so he stopped soon after running and stood there awkwardly. He then focused his attention on Madoka and Sakura.

"Madoka and Konoha kunoichi, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping Tomiko heal her arms or atleast get them working again. You two have my sincere thanks. If I can repay you two in any way, shape or form, just tell me." Mori no longer cared about Konoha being scum in his eyes, Tomiko was healed and that was the most important thing for him right now.

The moon, now beginning to shine visibly through the growing darkness of the sky, served as a clear reminder as to the multitude of events that Kiro had gone through today. His day started by gaining a brutal victory in the quarterfinals of the exam. Little had he known that killing Hashima would only be the beginning of the truly grueling day he had endured. After having an interesting conversation with the Demon Princess, Kiro had gone on to be humiliated by the girl from the lowly rain, Azumi. The agonizing blows to his own pride only continued from there as he went through three separate instances of being helpless, which he hoped to never experience again. Now after everything that he had gone through, here he was, a rogue ninja on the run with none other than the Sound.

Kiro couldn’t help but slightly chuckle at Zaku’s question. “Yeah, I can sleep but...” Kiro hopped up to a tree branch a good amount of feet above the ground. “I’d rather be up here in the case we suddenly get ambushed.” It would’ve been stupid of him to blindly believe that the other villages would allow the Sound to have a clean escape. With the weakened state they seemed to be in, it would be a wasted opportunity to not atleast pursue them.

Were they to be ambushed, Kiro would rather not allow the high ground to automatically be given to the enemies. Waking up to an already disadvantageous situation was not something Kiro would like to be apart of. Now looking down at Zaku, he wondered if the Sound ninja also knew the high possibility that they were being followed. Sure, the traps they had set up seemed to prove that they had the idea, but it was only for Orochimaru’s protection. Then again, Kiro’s loyalty was also pledged to Orochimaru, not the Sound. If things went South, some sacrifices would have to be made.

Looking at Kou now, Kiro could only imagine what the boy would have to face were he also captured. There was no remorse for enemies of war. The poor boy had now aligned himself with criminals who had taken part in an attack on one of the big five. That would not go without punishment, no matter how young he was. Just losing Zaku would cause the boy great pain. Kou clearly looked up to Zaku, but in a deeper way than Zaku probably realized.

The boy was lucky it wasn’t the remnants of the Blood Mist who found Kiro when he was lost. Kou had found someone who genuinely cared for his well being in Zaku. Kiro pushed away the thought in the back of his mind saying he was jealous. It was anything but. Kiro had been shown that this shinobi world wasn’t one that waited for children to grow up. It was a world that showed no remorse or forgiveness. They had given him glimpses of the path he would have to take. The way he was shown this, Kiro hoped the Sound wouldn’t be as harsh on the boy. They wanted to use Kiro, for his eyes of course. If some monster got their hands on those eyes... it would breed catastrophe. It wasn’t just him though. There were so many Uchiha, so many opportunities to grab a pair. Hell, maybe just take all of them at once! Kiro internally laughed at the idea of someone stupid enough to attempt taking on the Uchiha alone...

Realizing that he had gone too deep into his own thoughts, Kiro decided to table them for later. Kou needed Zaku with him if he wanted to survive in the Sound. Without him, he wouldn’t last long before he would be used for something else...

Kiro’s expression turned into a slight grin as he prepared to speak. “Zaku, you have more important things to worry about anyways. Take some rest while you can, that boy will need you at full strength tomorrow if things go bad.” Kiro told Zaku, his tone hiding the sympathy he felt. “What I mean is that I’ll stay up for a bit and take first watch to make sure no pursuers try to ambush us.” Kiro awkwardly rubbed his hair, hoping Zaku wouldn’t question his sudden urge to help out.

Yasu grinned like an idiot for a mere second when Tomiko came out of the medical room with Madoka and Sakura. However, he quickly removed the smile from his face and looked down and away, hiding his expression from the girls.

"Glad you're okay..." He said, barely audible.

He looked back up when he was fully recomposed, only to see Mori run up to Tomiko like he was going to hug her. His hand began to move without him thinking, but he quickly pulled back and stopped himself after only a couple inches of movement.

Was he about to... What kind of relationship do they have for him to be comfortable enough to do that...

Yasu almost lost himself in his thoughts before Madoka brought him back to the task at hand.

"Oh, right. A team of seven won't really work, huh? So we'll have to split up into a team of four and a team of three, or at least I assume that's what we would do."

Tomiko blinked and corked her head to the side and the...odd movement that Mori had made. If she did not know any better, she would have guessed he was trying to hug her. But it didn't make much sense why he'd want to hug her? It wasn't as if she was on the verge of death or anything.

Though both Sakura & Madoka knew better, but neither elected to say anything at the moment.

"We appreciate the kind words, but we have no time to dwell on compliments. Yasu is right, we need to divide up into teams. One of four, and one of three." Sakura explained as Tomiko thought it over before a lightbulb went off in her head.

"I could go with Yasu & Mori. I know Mori better than anyone else here so we could better compliment each other. Yasu's wind style is good at dealing with lightning attacks while we can snuff out some problematic flames with rocks." Tomiko explained, as she felt that it was a solid trio to work with given Mori was an unknown quality among anyone here outside of her. Kenji took a moment to think this over.

"So then that would leave me, Sakura, Madoka and the wild girl here." Kenji said out loud as Madoka thought it over and gave a nod.

"Well, I do know what Sakura can do. So I would not be totally foreign to this team." Madoka said as Sakura decided to add on to it.

"Aisha, being an Inuzuka, would be good for tracking and I've got some synergy with Kenji. I think it could work, what do you guys think?" Sakura asked Yasu & Mori.

"I am down for it, what should we bring with us? It is rather dark tonight so maybe a torch or atleast the material for one would be useful wouldn't it? Stocking up on weapons and rations won't be a bad idea either since we don't know how long this mission might take. Just in case there are ninja that can take over your mind, we should also think of a safe word to discover any potential Genjutsu. Are your arms healed enough to be used Tomiko? And are you in, Yasu?" Mori felt an urge to protect his team, he would not let them down by letting them get hurt or worse.

Sagisō

It was an odd feeling...being surrounded by guys that is. Nadeshiko village had been entirely populated by women with not a male specimen in sight, so to be the only female in any given situation was an odd feeling... While silence wasn't a bad thing, especially on a mission that involved stealth and tracking, the air of unfamiliarity than hung between this little group would adversely affect their ability to cooperate in a fight- if it came down to it. Even if they werent't buddybuddy, they at least needed to have a cernain degree of comfort around each other. However, she wasn't quite sure what guys talked about when they were alone together, but she figured she needed to get a conversation started somehow, and while she might not have been familiar with guy talk, it couldn't have been to different than girl talk.

Or at least, what passed for girl talk in the Amazoness village. She looked toward the members of her group, intent on singling out one of them. Her eyes first landed on Shura, but they'd already been over this question in the Hyuga mansion, and on top of that Sagisō already had a hunch about his preferences. 'Shiho had to have gotten her tastes from somewhere, right?' Her eyes briefly glanced down at her own chest and she decided against asking Shura. Next was Kai... Moving on.

Well, it wasn't as if she had anything against the hunter-nin, but he didn't really look like he was into women -or at the very least- not women from this side of the shinobi world, and Sagisō didn't really know anyone from the mist...besides Kiro...Oh dear.

Settling on Takato, Sagisō got to work breaking the ice. "So...got your sights on any husba- I mean, wife candidates? Azumi maybe~?" A slight note of teasing had entered her voice as she questioned the Nara.

Yusa was bored so he didn’t really want to talk, so Lily answered for him “I don’t know, depending on how long we took, Because someone had gotten in our way” she was referring to kai, who annoyed her for trying to kill her and Sagiso’s comment on her family made Lily feel worse. Yusa was looking left and right as if he was looking for something.

Yasu paused for a second when they decided on teams. It's not that he disliked Mori, not anymore at least. It's just that he would have rather swapped Mori and Madoka. Well, it wasn't his choice so there was no use in complaining.

"Sure, the teams are fine with me. And yeah, we need to stock up before anything else. If we come poorly prepared we'll regret it, so make sure we go over everything at least three times."

"Okay, we need a way to start a fire if needed to, a safe word, rations, weapons, smoke grenades to either signal something or to make a quick escape, give each different smoke grenade a meaning, medical supplies, maybe sleeping bags but we'll see about that and if possible, military rations pills. They could make the difference between life and death." It was quite a list, but he was confident that they could carry it.

Shura was hopping from branch to branch when he suddenly felt like someone was watching him. He turned his head around and saw Sagiso with an uncertain expression on her face. "What's up with her?" He thought to himself before seeing Sagiso go up to Takato. He briefly heard the question she asked him. "Is that really all she cares about? This isn't really the place or time to talk about this kind of things." He thought before looking up towards the darkening sky. "Its getting dark, we should set up camp for the night soon." He informed the others.

Azumi? That was an interesting name to bring into conversation. Though now that the Nara thought about it, Azumi had made mention of a girl from Nadeshiko village who she became friends with during her time in the village. Takato assumed that this girl was that one, given she knew Azumi by name and mentioned her so casually.

This caused him to momentarily fluster, though it was so subtle and he figured the darkness covered it anyway as he shook his head and turned to Sagiso.

"Nah. Azumi has far, far too much ambition for a guy like me. Not looking to settle down or even consider it. Besides I'd probably cramp her style since I'm not the most motivated guy, not that I have interest of course...and besides, I think there's kinda a big red flag that would hamper possible romantic consideration." Takato said as he made a subtle motion to his Konoha headband as he kept pace with the Hyuga. Which given Azumi's hostility she displayed to the Kage during the Chunin Exams was something Sagiso should understand easily enough. Something that caused him to think back to a moment during his training with Azumi.

"All right. Just focus on getting synch with your chakra and shadow. Think of it as an extension of yourself..."
Azumi, standing on the shores of a lake outside the forest, was in the traditional Nara pose as she sun shinned and sweat dripped down her forehead as she tried to get her shadow to move over towards the shadow of a distant tree. Takato sat on a log as he observed and noted that Azumi was doing well for someone who was not a Nara, but had some struggles as she could not make her shadow move far or with much grace. Takato noted that Azumi had been at this four two hours straight, and let out a sigh as he hoped off and moved to Azumi.

"I think we need a break. Keep at this and you'll have no chakra left to use and be a husk. Besides, you've done well enough for a beginner." Takato explained as Azumi cast a side glare his direction but had yet to let up.

"I haven't wasted as much chakra as you might expect. Besides, I need to master the most basic application of this early." Azumi countered which only made Takato scratch the back of his head as he sighed. Wondering how he ended up with such a stubborn one.

"Look, we've got a couple weeks till the exam you are in, not like if you don't get this on the first day the whole thing is a failure." Takato pointed out as Azumi scowled a bit before she let out a sigh as she dropped the hand-sign and faced her Nara instructor.

"A basic binding jutsu such as this is far from what I need to get the strength I desire. And to make one's ambitions a reality, I need strength. So I cannot linger on the most basic use of this, I need to master it and then I can evolve it to suit my needs. I respect that you are more tolerant about this than the average Konoha-nin but I cannot dilly dally. I need to make the most of this time." Azumi explained which only caused Takato to internally groan. Though one part of her reasoning caught his attention as he faced Azumi with a serious expression.

"You know, you tend to make very generalization statements of my village. And I tend to not your side, snarky comments about them and the others of the Big 5. You seem to harbor a fair amount of resentment against it. Care to share with a guy why? Not like I care much, I've never been an overly nationalistic type anyway. Though being I am a Konoha-nin I figure we should work to resolve this so that we can be more effective during this process." Takato explained as Azumi's expression shifted a little; more sullen than focused as she glanced away from Takato and remained silent for a fair amount of time. Though she did accept a water bottle offered to her from Takato as she took a large sip before she let out a sigh as she faced the Nara. With a serious expression of her own and eyes that seemed to stare daggers through Takato's very soul.

"When your nation is left to rebuild out of ruin of the conflicts of others, then you'd understand."
------------
"Alright, that sounds reasonable enough." Sakura said as Kenji & Tomiko oped to go to a supply run. Not only did they get the flares to help signal each other or other teams but they also went to ensure that they had all the needed weapons, items or just rations that Mori suggested as they began to lay them out on the ground so the two teams could get equal shares of them.

"Okay, so we just make sure we are all ready to go. And make sure you guys stay safe." Madoka said to Tomiko who smiled back as she picked up a few supplies for herself.

"Don't worry, I'm confident we'll be okay. And the same goes to you, I want to see you again after all this." Tomiko said as Madoka gave a nod.

"Of course." Madoka said as Aisha seemed curious over the items as she even gave a curious sniff to one of the kunai, which caused Kenji to let out a sigh.

Course our side ended up with the nature nut.

"You guys good to go?" Tomiko asked Yasu & Mori as she went over to them curious to see if they were ready.

----------
"Reaver, this will serve us well. We'll camp there."
Azumi observed the entrance of a cave as they traveled, and with the sun having set and the moon shining bright above, she figured that it was as good a place as any to set up camp. Azumi took the liberty of smashing a tree down with her umbrella as she broke the fallen tree to bits to get some sticks & broken fragments of wood as she gathered them inside as she then gathered leaves, grass & some rocks to form a circle inside the cave before she used flint to set the sticks on fire as she soon set up a camp fire to help keep warmth.

"Don't suppose you have any rations?" Azumi asked Reaver before she turned her focus back to the fire before her, which seemed to evoke some bitter memories. Memories of her old home set ablaze by would be robbers, the smoldered ash as her mother was forced to once more try to find a new place to settle. Azumi even saw what appeared to be a reflection of her younger self inside the flames.

A young, malnourished almost sickly little girl. The one who had been naive to the world and often asked why their home was like this. What caused it to deteriorate to such a state and what they had done to deserve it. To live in a nation of ruin, a nation of hate that only found some stability with the arrival of their true god & savior. Though Azumi knew better now, the answer was nothing. They didn't deserve it, it just happened because their land was chosen as the site for other nations to wage their wars. Those great nations that needlessly destroyed their home and left them to suffer in a war-torn battlefield because they were not worth consideration.

Something Azumi vowed to change. Something that, with the Forbidden Scroll in her possession, she knew she could change.

In response to Tayuya’s comment, Kidomaru scouted about with his sharp eyes, trying to find the strategically best spot to set up. He then eyed a clearing, surrounded by brush so that it would be easy to over look their position for more treeline. He grinned before two of his six hands pointed to it.

“There! That looks good.”

“Hmph. Alright then.” Sakon nodded.

Jirobo was the first to land, carrying the two jinchurkis inside the box around his waist. Sakon landed next to him while kidomaru remained suspended in the branches by a long strand of spider silk, seemingly placing traps and thin webbing around the perimeter.

Sakon leaned up against a tree after placing a seal in an unknown location, before Jirobo day criss-crossed next to him, holding onto the case. They had a long day of sieging the leaf village, so they needed to rest and gain chakra, if they were lucky, Kin or Yukimaru would wake up in the morning instead of being carried the entire time. One could hope.

...........

Zaku peered up at the Uchiha, who climbed up above, almost as if he were paranoid to leave himself to rest. Zaku have a small laugh at Kiro’s retort.

“Heh, suit yourself. It’s not my sleep to spend.”

Zaku put his hands behind his head, before yawning loudly and laying down. His metal implants making a small clicking sound when they hit the back of his head. His eyes remained opened as he remained curious about his new cell partner.

Kiro was a wildcard, one not to express his emotions too often. He always seemed to hold back as well, not even using his curse mark during the exam fight nor the invasion. Was that the only thing he was hiding? Zaku couldn’t help but to wonder what other mysteries lie under him.

“Zaku, you have more important things to worry about anyways. Take some rest while you can, that boy will need you at full strength tomorrow if things get bad.”

Zaku eyes moved to the sides of him, Kiro was pretty observant. He couldn’t tell if this was annoying, dangerous, or a positive. Dosu was the most observant sound ninja he’s ever known aside Kabuto, and he knew how THAT ended up. He’d have to keep an eye and an ear on him. But he did have a point...Kou couldn’t be left to his own devices when the leaf would no doubt send a response to their invasion. After Kiro backpeddled and referred to his shift, Zaku shrugged.

“....right. You do that.” Zaku grunted as he put his headband over his eyes and fell asleep.

...............

Kai heard Shura in his group, speaking of the perfect time to rest. He growled a bit, arrgjvated with the Xeno’s lazy tonality and lack of tactical knowledge.

“We keep going. We shouldn’t let our bodies rule over the mission itself. Us hunter nin prioritize the mission over our well being, if you wish to be as effective I suggest you do the same, Xeno.”

Kai had no intention of slowing down or stopping, aiming to close the distance between him and the sound as much as possible. Sleep was for victors, and he would rest once he had become one.

.........

“If that’s what you want.” Reaver said getting up from the ground, dusting himself off from the attack. “If you don’t mind though, I’m going to burn some midnight oil to try and get this suit back to the way it is supposed to be. Don’t want to be caught in a fist fight without a fist.”

Reaver has summoned his suit through his scroll with a clang! He began operation on his suit, which had still been badly scared from the attack and damage he put it through. No matter though, the reaver class armor was to tough to be lost to mear air power and cloging of gears.

“You wouldn’t happen to have any ration would you?” Azumi spoke.

Reaver withiut lookibg touches a panel on the suit, a bag popping out of the ankle toward her and landing beside her feet with a thud. He had began stitching the holes up with his metal bending justu, but he couldn’t help but see the way Azumi was acting, even if he was busy. Azumi gripped the scroll tightly as Reaver made a loud grunt.

“Hm. What are you going to do with THAT hm?”

"Almost done, I saw a sword that would help us out quite a lot. 5160 spring steel which is capable of chopping off animal heads with civillian strength and L6 Bainite tool steel which is tough but prone to rusting so it needs to be taken care of. And we still need a safe word, I thought that something personal would be rather hard for an enemy to know. What do you two say?"

Mori grabbed the sword and put the sheath behind his back at hip height, allowing for easy access whilst not sacrificing any mobility along with a spare tanto to replace his old one. After getting his rations, flares, medical supplies and any other items that they might needed he took off his forehead protector and wore it on his head. "I am ready, are you two?"
