Private/Closed Pokémon: Bronze and Iron {Discussion Thread}

I might make another character soon, (unless in the case of a reboot, I’m also down for that!) but I’m definitely up to continue roleplaying. I just couldn’t respond because it seems like Blotch’d went into inactivity and I can’t really respond realistically to the current roleplay.
Understandable. I'll see if @Blotch'd is interested in continuing the roleplay. If not, we may have to do a soft reboot. Obviously, you can keep the Pokémon you have now, and I'll be sure to run the reboot proposal by everyone before running with it.

If @Blotch'd doesn't wanna continue, I want to start fresh with a new character in that case, and I wouldn't mind doing a complete reboot.

Wait, so if we're doing a reboot, should I still submit my characters here? I was hesistant to do so.

So what's the plan regarding the reboot? Same rules, Pokemon, region etc?

Yes, you can still submit your characters here. If a reboot is required, the region will be the same. The Pokédex will be mostly the same, a few slight alterations would include base stats, learn sets, and, in certain cases, recommended held items. So far I have updated 61 fakemon entries, but I wasn't planning on posting until a) all of the fakemon received an update and b) @Blotch'd decides whether or not they still want to play.

If we end up doing a reboot, I can transfer everyone's character forms to a new discussion thread if need be.

Off topic, how long does RP etiquette dictate one should wait for an RPer to respond before moving on without them? A week? A month? I'm just curious in the event that Blotch'd decides not to come back.

In that case, i'll post some bios here:

Name: Georgios 'George' Adamos
Age: 16
Hometown: Born and raised in Castelia and Driftveil Cities in Unova, but will probably be starting in Crest Island.
Gender/Pronouns: Male
Appearance: In many ways he looks like your average young Pokemon trainer. He wears shorts and a shirt and sports a belt full of Pokemon. He is a fan of hats, however and often wears a striking suncap or flat cap, sometimes even wearing some kind of fedora or bowler. He wears a bag that sports stickers and badges of his idols, which includes famous ground-type gym leaders and elite four members such as Clay!
Bio (optional): George's father's side are from the far north of Mithos. They moved to the Unova region very early on and George was born in Driftveil City where his father got a job as a worker and a gym trainer in Clay's gym! George moved to Castelia to gain a better education and experience on life in a bigger bustling city and since made it his dream to become a gym leader or elite four member specialising particularly in rock, steel and ground types, with a preference for ground types! To gain enough experience, he begun to battle, and gained various badges in Unova. George met his partner Pokemon, Golurk, on his travels within the Desert Resort. However, after a while, he felt that he needed experience elsewhere and decided to travel the world. He approached his parents , who suggested he take a flight to Crest Island and begin a journey in Mithos to craft a name for himself here!
Occupation (optional): Pokemon trainer, aspiring gym trainer.
Pokémon Starter: (In Mithos) Aloeghar
However, George is accompanied at all times by his partner Pokemon, a Golurk. He also has on hand five other Pokemon from Unova: A Rufflet, Deino, Tirtouga, Pansage and a Darumaka.
Other: Trainer card below
1690235124443.png

Name: Goes by the alias 'Sullivan'. Few know his actual name. He also refers to himself as 'Dark Eyes'
Age: 55, or appears to certainly be older than middle-aged.
Hometown: Not many people know where he comes from. He has said various locations to different people to suit his needs. For example, he has told a bunch of people that he is from Ballonlea Town in Galar. However, others also claim Sullivan said he was from either Fortree, Lilycove or even Mossdeep city in Hoenn! He may also be from a region north of Mithos. He is starting in Coronet City (Or if not, Chaplet Town)
Gender/Pronouns: Male
Appearance: An older man in slightly more-well-to-do gentleman's entire, mainly sporting a white buttoned shirt with either a tie or some sort of black or dark blue sleaveless jacket on top. He gives the impression of smart casual with his deep black shoes. Wears a four leaf clover or some sort of charm around his neck. However, his eyes and tall height give the impression of someone with a darker side to them that is more imposing.
Bio (optional): Noone truely knows the truth regarding Sullivan's origins. Only Sullivan himself knows which he has failed to properly convince, as he his lying and manipulative personality has made people question who he really is! In fact, not even his true name is known, other than what is presumably his first or last name and his rather imposing nickname 'Dark Eyes', which probably suggests something sinister lurks beneath the rather astute, intelligent and well-mannered older man! Many have theorized he is the lost leader of an evil team who has come over to leave his past behind and steer a new criminal life in Mithos. No evidence has been presented so far to link him to any criminal activity but people know he is probably up to something shady. His goals appear to be to exploit the people and Pokemon tof Mithos, especially the new and foreign features to his own benefit and create a path to greatness. He seems to collect snake or cyclops-like Pokemon and has an obssession also of going after the trainer George, apparently having met him before! He seems to have the ambition to aid the evil teams of the region plotting up many schemes! He specialises in Dark, Psychic, Ghost, Poison, Dragon and Fairy types.
Occupation (optional): Scheming Man, 'Banker', Charm Maker, Pokemon Researcher, Pokemon Trainer
Pokémon Starter: Wulfleur (If I decide he goes to Coronet Town, if not, watch this space)
However, Sullivan also has a Dusclops (His partner Pokemon), Tangela, Morgrem, Spidops, Seviper and a Roggenrola from other regions which may also be used later on.

A week and a bit seems like enough to wait. I've been on RP discords prior to this site and if they didn't respond after a week, it basically meant the player was busy! I don't think he'd mind, would he? Not sure I can speak for this Blotch fellow since of course i've never been in a RP with them being new but it seems like their interest has died down. You're in charge, so you can call the shots. It is summer/the beginning of the summer holidays (in some countries) so i'm sure they're busy with other stuff?!

You have a point. Several points. I say we give @Blotch'd a week and see what happens. Blotch'd has disappeared and reappeared before, so it's possible they will come back. Apparently their last post was on July 8th, so I say the end of the week is plenty of time if everyone else agrees.

Also, great characters by the way! I should warn you, if my character learns Sullivan's nickname she is definitely going to make fun of it. Both accepted!

Fair point. We shall wait a week, then. I hope they come back; we had a great dynamic going on, but if they're busy, no worries :)

I'll start preparing my new bio and make the new character regardless of whether Blotch'd returns.

I wonder what she thinks of the leaders of the Pokemon Pinchers xD:

I love it a lot, but holy smokes, is that too much? Are you sure you want to do that for every Pokemon? That's going to be a lot of work haha

Well, I've already done it for 90 of them. But if it's too much to look at, I suppose I could leave out the Technical Machines. I thought having complete data would draw more people in, since some Pokémon fans are a bit distrusting of fakemon. I wanted people to know that this isn't some slapped together wish fulfillment project.

{Okay. Maybe a little wish fulfillment. But NOT slapped together. :) }

Edit: The funny thing is @~Aura~Slashz~ another RP maker criticized my original fakedex for not having enough data. Some people you just can't please. ;)

Haha, I get what you mean. That is a fair point, then; I get the point that adding more information will attract more people. I just thought it was a lot of work on your end.

I think the TM section helps; I was only concerned about how much work it would take you to write it for every Fakemon.

I appreciate your concern. I am attempting to cut back on Pokédex entries a bit to save space. If you want you can join in the vote:

1) Should a Minotaur Pokémon have a pre-evolution or does it make more since inspiration-wise to keep it a stand alone Pokémon?
2) Which of these Pokémon concepts would you like to see? (a) a crab cake (b) a jaguar (c) a set of scales (d) Hermes's wand (e) a haunted crossbow (f) neither (g) all

It’s been a few days. Do you want us all to give our feedback? Maybe you should set up some kind of poll?

I suppose I could. I wish there was an option where I could insert a poll directly into the discussion thread. I think the only way to set up a poll is to create a separate post.

Still, if you and @~Aura~Slashz~ wanted to, I could set one up. I was simply encouraging feedback because I have #101 fakemon entries completed. This seemed like the right time to add or drop anything we did not absolutely love. For instance I changed the minotaur fakemon's name to Tartauro from "Tartarus (greek underworld)" + "Taurus" since he's part dark type, and I was considering giving him a pre-evolution called Minitauro {mini+taurus}. Question 1 was just asking if I should keep the name.

I could create a poll for question 2, if you want. I could even give the names and typings of the Pokémon I had based on those concepts.

My apologies for not sending any feedback, I've been rather busy, and while I meant to reply, I found myself slacking off.

I would say the Minotaur Pokemon could be a two-stage Pokemon, but I don't think I've seen a baby or child Minotaur before (and when I searched the idea of a baby or young Minotaur up, there was barely anything), but would like to hear an idea of

And I like all those ideas, but don't we already have a Jaguar Pokemon? Further information on each Pokemon's type and name could help me give you feedback.

The only real feedback I have so far about your new ideas is that maybe there should be more regional forms instead of adding new Pokemon?

Obviously Tartauro sounds really cool, but we also have already existing bull or buffalo Pokemon that could have that incorporated into their design, if you know what I mean?

There’s one such Pokémon that I remember as a kid hearing about having a new evolution in the playground around gen 4 or 5 and getting a new evolution. Alas, it turned out only to be a false rumour, a playground myth and it never happened.

It’s name was Minotauros.

No worries! I've been rather busy myself so take all of the breaks you need.

We do have Cirkit and Jagwire. However, I was considering dropping them since one of our starters is a water-type cat. And Jagwire was designed to be an Electric-Water type. I was considering adding a midway evolution and have it be Cirkit-->Catabolt-->Jagwire at one point, but I'm not 100% sure I like that so much anymore.

Here's a brief look into the one's I'm debating. I dropped the herald's wand in favor of a different Pokémon.

(a) Crabake-->Crustacea (Fairy-type) "The Cake Crab Pokémon"
Crabake: A pink and white crab-like Pokémon resembling a small desert. Has torched frosting on its back. This Pokémon looks good enough to eat.
Crustacea: A Baked Alaska King Crab, resembling the towering dessert resting atop crab-like features. The claws and legs are red with white stripes to resemble an Alaskan King Crab. This Pokémon’s back is topped with Baked Alaska. Evolves from Crabake when traded while holding Merry Meringue.

(b) Cirkit-->Catabolt-->Jagwire (Electric-Water type) "The Jungle Cat Pokémon"
Cirkit: A black spotted orange kitten resembling a jaguar cub. It has long whiskers for channeling electricity. The shiny version is all black.
Catabolt (possible midstage evolution): basically halfway between a house cat and a jaguar.
Jagwire: An orange stocky jaguar Pokémon with two tails: one positive and one negative. The black rosettes all over its body resemble electrical outlets. It has a white underbelly. The shiny version is all black.

(c) Equilibra (Ghost-Steel Type) "The Steelyard Pokémon"
A ghostly balancing scale with rusted chains. And chipped balancing dishes. This Pokémon weighs the fate of its foes before attacking. Its decisions are absolute.

(d) Spearful-->Quivering-->Archiron (Ghost-Fighting Type) "The Archery Pokémon"
Spearful: A lonely haunted arrow capable of inducing many side effects
Quivering: A arrow and a quiver. Evolves from Spearful at Level 35.
Archiron: A haunted arrow and quiver full of arrows. Evolves from Quivering when given a Dusk Stone.

I have added regional variants to the Mithos Dex. Presently, I have a regional Meowth and new Meowth evolution inspired by a past suggestion as well as a regional Ponyta and Rapidash. Regarding Minotauros, I believe I know the rumor you are talking about. While I love the concept [see image attachment below], Tauros has received three regional variations as of Scarlet/Violet, all being part fighting type. Since the Minotaur is known for being violent, I thought its Pokémon equivalent should be part Fighting-type too. Dark/Fighting seems like and enticing combination. I considered using Bouffalant, but Minotaur doesn't strike me as a creature that would have a head that fuzzy. Of course, this is all my opinion. Still, I thought having it be a Fakémon would make it more original, and give me the option to use more colors rather than solid black.

I considered using Bouffalant, but Minotaur doesn't strike me as a creature that would have a head that fuzzy. Of course, this is all my opinion. Still, I thought having it be a Fakémon would make it more original, and give me the option to use more colors rather than solid black.

a) I really love the idea of a "crab cake," and I'm always down for a new food Pokemon (the Fidough line was amazing!). The only issue I have with this is that the Pokemon doesn't have much relation to the region itself, but I think it would still work fine.

(As a side note, when you said crab cake, I thought you were referring to crab cakes as in the appetizer.)

b) Honestly, the mid-stage evolution works just fine; in my opinion, it works either way, with or without a mid-stage evolution.

c) I love the idea of this Pokemon, and I always love Ghost-Steel types, personally. "Its decisions are absolute" is a nice, badass quote, haha

d) I'm okay with this Pokemon; the idea of a haunted arrow is fine. Sorry for sounding a little demanding, but I don't think there's enough description of the appearance.

Thanks for your feedback. I took all your considerations into account. Hopefully, you'll like what I come up with. I just finished entry #131. Only around 19 to go!

Something else i've just come up with: regarding the arrow pokemon, maybe you could incorporate elements of it into other Pokemon?

Regarding regional variants, there's actually quite a few that are based off of arrows. The first that comes to mind is the Arrokuda line, in which Barraskewda does not take the arrow theme quite so seriously, so you'd be adding a lot by giving it additional types and changing its design to suit it's pre-evo. How does that sound?

I'll think about it. I'm not sure the Arrokuda line is quite what I envisioned. I was going more towards archery in general. Still, I'll see what I can do to improve the design.

Unfortunately, it's been a week, and I think it's safe to say @Blotch'd isn't going to return.
Yeah. I'm in agreement. :(

The good news is, I have officially completed Mithos Pokédex 2.0.

If you and @Max Million still want to do this, why don't I create a new RP thread and discussion thread? I was thinking of changing the name to Pokémon Titanium, something that would signify it is a compilation of Pokémon Bronze and Pokémon Iron (sort of like the third game if Bronze and Iron were separate versions). What do you think?

I was going to add a new feature that would potentially lure in more players, a feature that included access to all nine gens of Pokémon starters. Hmm? How does that sound?

Yeah :(

Nice job on completing it!

I’m down for the new name, especially since there’ll be a lot of changes, so that makes perfect sense :D

And the starter idea could work out with getting more role players, I’m down with it, although I’m personally still going to choose a Mithos starter.

Additional note, I’ve decided that I’m going to make Alexander stay (with a few changes to make him, let’s just say, a little more chaotic) and I’m going to add another character that I already have ideas for.

Awesome! Can't wait to see what you come up with.

I'm hoping to have everyone stick with the Mithos starters, but they will have the option to obtain starters from other generations sooner rather than later. You'll see once I have the discussion thread up. I'll get to work on it right away!

Note: it might not be complete until tomorrow so don't hang around if you have other stuff you need to do.

No rush to finish! :D I’ll just finish writing up my characters.

I’m cool with whatever gets decided though it seems like there wasn’t too many days between when the main thread went ‘inactive’ and when you decided to do this. Since you didn’t have too much progress anyway, some might question if a reboot is needed. After all, there’s a LOT of content in the first few posts of this thread that you’d have to copy up again, which is a lot of work! Of course, everything would be on the first post, which is more than handy, if you did do a reboot!

Thanks @Max Million. I decided to go ahead with a reboot. Once I get the Pokédex fired up, it'll just be a simple copy and paste off old info. onto the new thread. Fortunately, I booked marked all of my important tabs. I appreciate your concern. And don't worry, I'll be sure to copy and paste your character forms to the trainer card list for safe keeping, provided that you don't want anything changed.
