BTW, Ridge,I’m gonna have my other OC (Quinn) start over at Whirl Islands for some cave spelunking, wouldn't mind an interaction with your OC
Alright! But might be more fitting if it's Quinn approaching Rick. 'Cause right now he's still resting at the beach from the crash, and even once he perks up it's not his type to go look for random people. (@Godjacob haven't forgot about Desmond's kricketune)

Btw, don't know if I'll be able to post today due to work, but tomorrow I can for sure.

She always has a purse on her, it is of some expensive brand that must have cost a pretty penny.

Accepted, just remember that we have a unique system for moves here, a Pokemon may have Battle Ready moves, up to 8. These moves work normally, but they can have non battle ready moves also, these are weaker versions of the moves though, for example Thunder Wave has less accuracy or it paralyzes but doesn't apply the speed reduction. No limit for non battle ready moves, but also don't just add all the tms, trs and egg moves possible for the pokemon. Recommended to keep track of what moves your Pokemon have, in case of a pvp event or something similar.

Thanks for the reminder. Medic had given a rundown of the rules so thanks for letting me know anyways. I was only planning on a couple of pokemon having one or two egg moves. I also want to point out that the only pokemon that has battle ready moves is the Machamp as he was a trade for her. She tried gyms when she first started out, but was really terrible at them, so she moved onto contests. Her moves might not hit the hardest, but they may not be used in the same way as they normally would.

Should have Battle Ready moves though, is the moves the Pokemon mostly uses.
Oh then they have the most four to five though I have not fully flushed out the moveset for every one of the pokemon she will aquire yet. Thanks for the info. Though like I said before she mainly focused on how the moves look not how hard they can hit, so I will probably have the same restrictions apply to pokemon who are not trained for battle. This is mainly because I know how I am with my characters and tend to get a bit carried away and want to change that moving on. I do not want to make Mary Sue's as I have in the past and not realized what I had done until it was too late. I am trying to do better.

FINALLY!!!! A CHARACTER SHEET OF REGGIE!!

Pokemon section COMPLETE!!

Name: Reginald Valerias
Nickname: Reggie, Reg
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual
Age: 21
D.O.B.: August 1
Birth Place: Hearthome City, Sinnoh
Hometown: Opelucid City, Unova
Trainer Class: Pokémon Trainer, Coordinator, Resident Goofball
Physical Appearance: Reggie stands at 5’11” (180 cm) with barely noticeable working muscle, and he’s got cake where it counts, being 160 lbs (72.57 kg) where his genetics and adventures have saved him from being too chunky. In other words, he’s pretty average. He has short, blond hair usually combed back, and his eyes shine a bright blue sapphire. He’s also rather pale, his face having a sharp jawline, which makes him look a bit silly when he’s goofing around.
Clothing: He usually wears something pretty close to travel-okay business-casual clothing. He has dark grey dress pants, black dress shoes, black socks, a purple trainer belt with PokeBall slots, a dark purple dress shirt, and a green XTransceiver on his right wrist. He also has a simple black phone that should have a Rotom, but is fit with a sim card instead. Finishing off his look, he has a black dress coat with golden cuff buttons and a yellow and red striped bowtie. He occasionally wears a black trilby with a hot pink striped sash around the base. He absolutely loves his trilby and will make sure it doesn't get damaged or lost.

For more casual clothes when he knows he'll get dirty, he has black hiking boots, baggy dark grey pants, a simple t-shirt with a silhouette of a Giratina, his purple trainer belt, and a grey coat with red and black stripes on the front, yellow spiked pockets and cuffs, and the hoodie has yellow fluff around the hood's edges. Wherever he goes, he has a large ruddy red camping backpack on his back that holds items for a small pot, a small tent, bowls, utensils, rations, extra clothes, hygiene equipment, rope, and other such items used for a Pokemon journey that isn't just survival.
Personality/Inner Machinations:
  • Theatrical, Extroverted, Attention-Seeking, Friendly, Goofy, Flirtatious
    • Really loud and physical but in a friendly-not-creepy way.
      • While he knows that others aren’t too keen on being touched by complete strangers and he tries his best not to side hug them when he barely knows them, he has a hard time reminding himself this when excited. He also constantly forgets he needs to be quiet.
    • A little egotistical. Likes to focus all attention on himself by moving around; very animated.
      • He does have quite the ego, but he does understand he’s not all that. He just chooses not to see himself in a worse light because he’d rather not spiral. His constant movements actually came from very egotistical and theatrical characters he saw on TV - whether it be cartoons, anime, or contests - and he thought they were absolutely cool. He started incorporating what they did into his daily life and it just stuck since.
    • Optimistic
      • Giving with compliments, sees the best in people, usually the first to say ideas or agree and expand on others’ ideas. This stems from him being a child at heart and having seen that being friendly and sweet usually wins over. Plus, he’s grown up in a very stable home and had very stable friendships. If he likes something someone does with him, then he’s going to do it to others.
    • Confident, maybe a bit too confident.
      • Oversells his ability and ignores the possible dislike from others. Not because he doesn’t believe that they dislike him or they are beneath him so their opinions don’t matter, but he just doesn’t really care what others think of him, unless they are his friends (because if he knows them and they know him, he can trust their judgment). He can also be humble, but when he’s excited he tends to forget key details or things that are common knowledge (especially when he works off theories and ideas in battle and not practical experience).
    • Sore Loser
      • Because of his confidence, he may act out as a sore loser, or seem like he’s cracking until he tries to use his optimism to make him seem like he can’t handle a loss. It slips more when he’s really tired or when there isn’t a lot of people watching. However, most of his sore-loser actions are towards himself, berating himself for not remembering or not being as creative, while still trying to pass off as a good sport and complimenting the other person. This stems from the discipline he received, and instead of letting it go, he’s internalized it. This also stems from wanting to show off and - if he does it poorly - he believes his parents and the gym leader will look down on him.
    • Jokester; tries to lighten the mood or deflect complaints about himself with jokes
      • Gets a bit too uncomfortable when he can’t be light-hearted about it to ease himself. He also very much dislikes being disliked or hated by people he considers his friends. He can take criticism, they just have to be tact.
    • Friendly Flirt
      • It doesn’t matter who you are, he’ll try to get you to smile or blush by giving a compliment, maybe have them see he’s a good guy to date (only for people around his age). And if they can have some banter with it back and forth? Even better.
    • Vain
      • Absolutely hates getting dirty, won’t even do it for a friend. If he is going to a place where it is obvious he’ll get dirty, then he’ll have to mentally prepare beforehand (and get a different change of clothes) before he can semi-enjoy his journey. This stems from his rich childhood and always having everything clean and rarely going outside to play.
  • Hyperactive, a little disorganized, but emotionally attentive and curious.
    • He notices everything, and promptly forgets half of said everything. He tends to go by emotions first than what’s logical, as he found going by the heart (even though it’s cliche) is far better when he sees body language or hears tonal shifts that someone is not doing well. In fact, his attention tends to be pulled when someone is brooding, wanting to be alone, or are upset or angry, and he doesn’t want to leave them alone thinking he can help them or get to know them to help.
      • Stems from how he is naturally and trying to instill cliches that he liked and saw from cartoons, anime, and other media into his life. Sort of sees life as a story and he’s the main character.
  • Gets attached too easily
    • Loyal
      • Sometimes jumps to conclusions in favor of his friends, but means well. He’ll do anything for them, even sacrifice something of his (whether it be materialistic or time). The only things he’ll have a hard time sacrificing would be his trilby. This can also mean he’ll be a bit gullible unless he knows the answer himself. This is from learning that a really good friend is one who won’t lie to you and say it how it is (beyond the context of jokes).
    • Unrequited friendships and crushes
      • It has happened one too many times. He has learned from it, but his excitement and hyped nature tends to make him forget the lessons he’s learned before. He may attach himself to people who don’t see him in the same way, become disillusioned and defensive when they tell him they don’t see him in the same way, and then mourn afterwards after cutting them off completely. This is the only time he really ever gets any shame, and it’s from how he acts with others and how he’s let it happen again. This stems from his possible ADHD, as well as just wanting to be the ideal friend for everyone.
    • Misunderstandings and Paranoia
      • When his friend insults him (even in the context of humor but if Reggie didn’t notice it) or they criticize him too harshly and are not tactful with him, Reggie will get paranoid and start to think they actually just hate him, and that he’s been doing all these kind things for them for nothing. This usually can be solved with a simple conversation, but unless someone instigates it, he will just let it eat at him and suffer from it before he ultimately breaks ties with them. This stems from the fear of getting close to someone and realizing who they are as a person has been hidden from him from when it has happened to him in his past. He will lose trust in how he views them, which comes out as him losing trust in that person either way.
    • Hopeless Romantic
      • Very sweet, he maybe tries a bit too hard and fantasizes about the ideal when things won’t work out that way. If it doesn’t, he attempts to take it in stride, but finds it difficult not to be disappointed. This stemmed from his possible ADHD.
    • Nosy
      • He doesn’t really mean it, but he just wants to make sure he understands the person well and helps them when he can. It can get annoying and he usually profusely apologizes for asking so many questions.
    • Selfless to a fault
      • He’s been burned out before by being too kind and sacrificing too much of his time (especially if those he gives to keep taking and never give back), and this results in him losing his normal cheery attitude. He has to pull up a facade of one when around friends so they don’t worry, but he’s at least upfront when he says he’s not doing well. However, he can’t help himself from helping others when they need it, even if they don’t want his help and prefer it if he relaxed.
    • Trust issues after platonic/romantic “break up” (even if unrequited).
      • After realizing the person is not good for him or was never a friend/lover to him in the first place, he has a really hard time thinking of them as anything else other than the pain he received from them and the pain he caused them. It takes more time to rebuild that trust again, and he becomes far more standoffish, direct, and impatient. He believes that if the two friends who know each other well have problems, they talk it out without resorting to throwing shade or being generally mean-spirited about one another. This is why he doesn’t care if strangers insult him or try to bring him down.
  • Trained Professionalism
    • Respectful and Polite
      • He forgoes his slang and cheery attitude to seem more impressive to those who are high up on the “ladder”. Stemmed from having to be appropriate when meeting those his parents work with. It is not his preferred way of being, however.
  • Mental Disorders/Powers
    • Insomnia/Chronic Nightmares - His mind races towards all things eerie and uncanny, and it makes it difficult for him to want to sleep, let alone staying asleep once he gets there (this is exacerbated when he’s too excited). Once he sleeps, the subjects his mind goes to when he sleeps are literal nightmare fuel, and he has to have a Psychic-Type with Dream Eater (or in his case, his Munna) to eat his dreams so he can sleep peacefully. Due to not sleeping, he forgets things more often (even when he’s in the middle of talking), finds it harder to stay awake, and makes him more anxious and paranoid when things set him off.
      • This is caused from being around malevolent spiritual artifacts that his parents brought home when he was very young. At the time, he was very susceptible and vulnerable to the energy and it has manifested into insomnia.
    • Possible ADHD - Being born with this, Reggie acts more like a child than his age when he gets excited, but that doesn’t mean he’s not responsible. He also attaches way too easily and quickly, gets anxious easily (especially when under a gamut of emotions), and his attention span tends to make him forget what he’s talking about or common things he should remember (like type immunities and what move is which type) and this is exacerbated by his insomnia.
      • This is just something he’s born with.
    • Spirit Sense - Can sense spirits (whether just feeling their presence, or actually seeing/hearing/smelling that they are there). He can also see invisible Ghost-Types passively.
      • This stems from his parents’ work. As they worked and brought home malevolent spiritual items, they began to affect him. After a while, he was able to see the spirits who were attached to these items, and even Ghost-Types who tried hiding from him. However, because he’s so sensitive to the spiritual world and that of Ghost-Types, he has grown increasingly empathic to their own emotions and being near too many Ghost-Types or the dead increases his anxiety and frequencies of his nightmares.
    • Basic Telekinesis - Can lift a small number of small objects for a short amount of time with his mind. He mostly does this as a party trick and doesn’t really train much in it.
      • This stems from his mother’s ability. She also has ESP abilities after being a gym trainer in Anistar City’s gym. She learned from the many gym trainers there how to best use her ESP and, when she had her son, she put him through training to teach him how to use it, as well. However, she noted that he couldn’t clear his mind very well of his emotions, leading him to not develop his ESP any further than when she had last trained him.
Fears: He despises Dark-Types because he finds them spine-chillingly disturbing. The way they can manifest their violent will and malevolent thoughts into attacks is horrific to him, and he can’t trust them at all. While he loves battling, losing is a hit to his pride. He feels like people will think him weak, so he has to be on top. This fear is the main reason why he hasn't gone further in his gym challenge, as he doesn't want to disappoint his family and the gym leader he's facing off against. Because he has seen quite a few Ghost-Type Pokemon and understands where most come from, or where they could come from, he's terrified of being abandoned, sharing in their sentiments. On the note of his insomnia, it terrifies him that he may not be able to ever fall asleep if this keeps up (unlikely, given that's not how the human brain works, but it's something he fusses over), and he's also terrified of missing something if he falls asleep during the day, making him perpetually exhausted when his adrenaline dies down.

Backstory: Reggie, as he would prefer anyone to call him (even in a business casual setting), was born in Hearthome City, Sinnoh before being taken to Opelucid City, Unova to live out the rest of his childhood. He desperately wanted to go on an adventure and dreamed of a chance for his parents to be brave enough to send him out. While his childhood was peaceful and filled with teachings of both history of the Pokemon world, the different region's histories, general Pokémon knowledge, business to a small degree, and learning of myths and legends, he wanted to go outside and explore. Have an adventure. Have some fun. His parents wanted him to grow up the least sheltered as possible so he had free reign of the television programs, but soon regretted it as he would constantly talk about going on adventures and defeating strong opponents and becoming an idol people can look up to. Most of the tournaments and contests he watched on the television had his blood pumping so much, he tried acting as the Pokémon or people he saw on television. This also extended to cartoons and anime.

His father was basically as close as you can get to an aristocrat. He had lots of money and did his best to make sure his family lived comfortably. He never flaunted it, but instead flaunted his fashion sense and exuberant energy that his son emulated and turned the dial up to eleven. The money he got however was hosting exhibits in museums and gathering items for such exhibits, while Reggie’s mother specifically helped his father in obtaining spiritual items for these exhibits or for their own home to keep them safe from the general public. This caused Reggie to manifest his spirit sense, but also his insomnia. Once Reggie was ten, he thought about which Pokemon he wanted. His favorite was by far a Gastly, but it wasn't a Starter Pokemon. Not having the foresight to see this sooner, he lost his motivation to go on a journey and began to focus solely on his academic life. He was the only one in his class to not have a Pokemon partner that was truly his, not just a Mimikyu or a Polteageist from his parents. Finally, when he was seventeen (and after his parents saved up as much as they could), they bought Reggie his first Pokemon. A Shiny Gastly. The boy was so ecstatic. His parents didn't need to get him a Shiny Gastly, but they felt bad that their son didn't get his favorite Pokemon when he was ten, so they made up for it by saving enough to buy him a special one. Reggie sent his sights in his home region, Unova, to settle on an adventure. He was two badges in, but decided that Sinnoh was more interesting, especially with the contests. He left for Sinnoh and received a ribbon, loving the high-octane performances he put himself in. He even got a couple Sinnoh Gym badges during his tenure. However, his subsequent defeats in attempting to obtain a second contest ribbon and third gym badge had him wishing he didn’t try.

However, as he got older, he realized that, even though he hadn't been to the other regions, he felt bored. Nothing stimulated his senses enough like the contests of Sinnoh or the gym battles in both his home region and Sinnoh. The Pokevision videos were amazing, but Kalos wasn't his cup of tea. Kanto and Johto felt bland after visiting Sinnoh, and Hoenn's contests weren't as appealing after his tenure in Sinnoh, as well. He didn't want to continue his journey in Sinnoh or Unova, as he felt incredibly bored looking at something he was so used to seeing. Not even Alola fed that itch, but it was close with the islands. Galar was fascinating, but the Wild Area even concerned him a little and so did the Dynamaxing, despite the stadiums in Galar being phenomenal.

Despite this however, he decided to head to the Orange Islands. They were islands, but the gym circuit there was far more fascinating than the other places he thought of going. Plus, the gyms focused on skill, which was something his Pokémon desperately needed if they were to get stronger and better at gyms and contests.

Trivia: He adores Bug-Types, thinking they are so cute and misunderstood. Ghost-Types is his type specialty, and he really likes that type for many reasons, one of which is how absolutely beautifully eerie they are and another is because his favorite Pokemon is Giratina. He also likes Psychic-Types due to their usefulness for his sleep schedule. He also loves having pretend tea parties, hide and seek, and training/cleaning his (and other people’s) Pokemon.

Pokemon: Emeric the Shiny Haunter, Elvira the Munna, Bob the Shedinja, Large Marge the Drifloon, Missy the Misdreavus

Species/Type: Haunter - Ghost/Poison
Nickname: Emeric
Gender: Male
Ability: Levitate - Unaffected by Ground-Type moves, Arena Trap, Spikes, Toxic Spikes (can't nullify them easily), Sticky Web, Rototiller, and terrain. Can be lost during Gravity, when holding an Iron Ball, under the effects of Ingrain, or has been hit by Smack Down or Thousand Arrows. Can enter Sky Battles.
Appearance: Emeric is shiny, so his tongue is blue instead of pink, and the normally red aura around his hands are blue. He's the average height, weight, and shiny appearance of a Haunter.
Nature/Personality: Modest | A trickster by heart, a wingman and showboater by trade, he doesn't seem like the modest type. But in fact, if alone and not bouncing the energy back from Reggie, he is very realistic with himself. He is Reggie's best friend and protects him from... Well, himself.
History: Having been caught by a Pokemon hunter because of his shiny coloration as a Gastly, he was expecting the worst to happen to him. But, in fact, nothing bad happened to him. He was just bought by some old fart who probably only had thirty years left to live and was given to a sixteen-year-old kid as a present. With how excitable the kid was, Emeric tried his hardest to be distant with him, usually hiding from him or trying to run away, but Reggie was unshakeable and thought Emeric was playing games. After Reggie nearly got hurt trying to catch up to Emeric and the Ghost Pokemon saving him, the shiny Pokemon finally conveyed his displeasure and how dense Reggie seemed. But Reggie understood that Emeric didn't want to be here, he just wanted to make sure Emeric smiled more than anything. In fact, he could feel his displeasure, and it surprised the Ghost/Poison-Type. The two ended up getting closer after this time, and Reggie took him on an adventure around Unova, wanting to show him the sights. Gastly ended up helping Reggie get his first couple of badges, evolving against Roxie's Whirlipede, and even helping Reggie get a ribbon in Sinnoh.

Species/Type: Munna - Psychic
Nickname: Elvira
Gender: Female
Ability: Synchronize - Passes on Burn, Paralysis, Poison, and Badly Poisoned to the one who affected Elvira with the status condition. Can affect a Pokemon behind a Substitute, can activate from abilities that cause the condition, but not Toxic Orb or Flame Orb. This ability will also attract wild Pokemon who have a similar demeanor as this Pokemon.
Appearance: A regular Munna.
Nature/Personality: Calm | Elvira is the mother of the group. Always clear-headed and very considerate. She seems to almost always have a plan for everything, and she likes to just people and Pokemon watch. Despite eating nightmares not tasting very good, she does so anyway to protect Reggie and give him some semblance of sleep, even if Dream Eater doesn't really give him a good rest.
History: Elvira was given to him when his parents found him unable to sleep for several nights in a row. Scared for his health, they ordered he have a Munna to take care of him. Elvira was just a Pokemon caught to serve his needs, but after Reggie went on an adventure, she became a tank as well as a Pokemon to ease his nightmares. She's even aided in giving him his first badge against Cheren in Aspertia City.
Moves:
  • Stored Power* - Psychic | Special | The more her battling capabilities are raised, this move raises in power.
  • Defense Curl* - Normal | Status | Raises Defense.
  • Hypnosis* - Psychic | Status | Causes sleep or can put others into a trance when not using it for battle.
  • Dream Eater* - Psychic | Special | Eats the dreams of a sleeping opponent, causing damage and restoring 50% of the damage dealt. Can also eat dreams and nightmares from sleeping Pokemon and people to ease their sleeping experience, but it prevents them being well rested. The pink mist emanating from the spot on her forehead turns black when eating a nightmare.
  • Psybeam* - Psychic | Special | Has a chance to confuse the target.
  • Moonlight* - Fairy | Status | Heals half of her stamina, healing more during Harsh Sunlight and healing less during Sandstorm, Fog, Rain, Snow, or Hail.
  • Calm Mind* - Psychic | Status | Raises Special Attack and Special Defense.
  • Shadow Ball* - Ghost | Special | Has a chance to lower the target's Special Defense. Doesn't affect those with Bulletproof.
  • Imprison - Psychic | Status | Prevents the opponent from using the same moves as Elvira for a few posts.
  • Magic Coat - Psychic | Status | Reflects certain status moves back at the attacker, but it only has a 50% chance in doing so for the remainder of that turn.
  • Zen Headbutt - Psychic | Physical | Base Power is 40 and has a lesser chance to flinch.
  • Synchronoise - Psychic | Special | Has a Base Power of 60, only affects Pokemon that shares Elvira's typing.
  • Nightmare - Ghost | Status | Gradually damages the opponent while they sleep with a status of nightmares (a volatile status condition). Goes away when the opponent wakes up. When used, the opponent may wake up faster, especially after the first round of pain.
  • Lucky Chant - Normal | Status | For a couple posts, prevents critical hits from landing from the opponent.
  • Yawn - Normal | Status | Makes the opponent drowsy, but it takes longer to make the Pokemon fall asleep, and they can wake themselves up while drowsy.
Species/Type: Shedinja - Bug/Ghost
Nickname: Bob
Gender: Genderless (prefers male pronouns)
Ability: Wonder Guard - Immune to all damaging moves that aren't super-effective, and direct damaging moves (like Sonic Boom, Seismic Toss, and Dragon Rage) that this Pokemon isn't weak to (it's weak to Night Shade). Can be bypassed by typeless damage, like Struggle. Does not prevent indirect damage like from Burn, Poison, Confusion, Weather, Recoil, or Entry Hazards. Doesn't affect status moves. Can be bypassed by moves and abilities that ignore abilities.
Appearance: Just a regular Shedinja.
Nature/Personality: Lonely | Having been abandoned by the Nincada that evolved without it, the sudden loneliness manifested as an animate shell, and this Shedinja held onto this. It loves cuddles, but the feeling of being lonely still pervades its very senses. So much so, he becomes rather clingy and becomes a sort of "yes man" to his trainer to prevent himself from ever being replaced, even if it's likely it'll never happen. He also has a hard time accepting other Pokemon or trainers who become close to Reggie as he's afraid they'll replace him somehow.
History: This Shedinja was founded in Sinnoh in Eterna Forest. The Nincada had evolved into a Ninjask, and it was left behind. The sudden emotional turmoil of being left alone manifested a ghostly power that possessed the shell, but before it had much time to ruminate on where its other half went, Reggie found him and caught him, wanting to make him feel like he belonged. Because of this, Bob is extremely clingy. Because aspects of the Nincada were left behind, it left behind the proclivity for battle and a love for pockets and snuggles.
Moves:
  • Shadow Claw* - Ghost | Physical | Has an increased critical hit ratio.
  • Dig* - Ground | Physical | Disappears into the ground, then attacks. Would take double damage from Earthquake and Magnitude if it were weak to Ground. Helps create a tunnel for Reggie to travel through to get back to a safe place.
  • Metal Claw* - Steel | Physical | Has a chance to increase the user's Attack.
  • False Swipe*- Normal | Physical | Leaves the opponent with a little bit of stamina left to continue a fight if it would otherwise knock it out.
  • Confuse Ray* - Ghost | Status | Confuses the opponent.
  • Shadow Sneak* - Ghost | Physical | Attacks with its shadow in a blur, having increased priority.
  • X-Scissor* - Bug | Physical | No secondary effect.
  • Ally Switch* - Psychic | Status | Switches spots with an ally, having even more increased priority than Shadow Sneak (+2), but can still get hit by Snipe Shot, and by attacks affected by Stalwart and Propeller Tail. With each consecutive use, it has an increased chance of failing.
  • Grudge - Ghost | Status | If the user faints from a direct result of an attack, that move become unable to be used for a few posts as the target who knocked out this Pokemon loses all energy to use that move.
  • Mud-Slap - Ground | Special | Base Power is 10 and has a chance to lower accuracy.
  • Scratch - Normal | Physical | Base Power is 20 and has a chance to miss.
  • Sand Attack - Ground | Status | Has a chance to miss and only lowers accuracy for a couple posts.
  • Harden - Normal | Status | Raises Defense for only a couple posts.
  • Absorb - Grass | Special | Base Power is 10, and heals up to 25% of the damage inflicted. While this move is useless to a Shedinja, he can still absorb the life of a person or Pokemon, hold it, and give it to someone else.
Species/Type: Drifloon - Ghost/Flying
Nickname: Large Marge
Gender: Female
Ability: Flare Boost - When this Pokemon is burned, the power of its special moves is increased by 50%.
Appearance: A very large Drifloon. In fact, she's 5'4" (162.6 cm) and weighs 10.4 lbs (4.7 kg). She's able to nearly carry Reggie with her size.
Nature/Personality: Naive | Very curious and child-like, Large Marge loves to discover things and float in the wind. She's also very dramatic. She dreams to soar through the skies and being large enough to carry her trainer wherever he pleases.
History: Caught in the Valley Windworks in Sinnoh, Reggie was surprised at the size of the Drifloon. She tried taking him away, but she was too weak. He told her he could get her strong enough to one day soar through the sky with someone. Because she doesn't have much ambition for anything else, she's been with him ever since.
Moves:
  • Gust* - Flying | Special | Stirs up wind, can damage Pokemon who are using Fly, Sky Drop, and Bounce for double the damage, and can damage non-adjacent opponents.
  • Will-O-Wisp* - Fire | Status | Causes Burn.
  • Tailwind* - Flying | Status | Increases the speed of herself and her team for four posts. Can be used to boost her speed while flying.
  • Ominous Wind* - Ghost | Special | Eerie, damaging wind that has a chance to increase all of her battling capabilities.
  • Focus Energy* - Normal | Status | Has increased critical hit chance. Can be used to focus on an opponent when dizzy or when it's hard to find them.
  • Stockpile* - Normal | Status | Stores energy and raises Defense and Special Defense for each energy stockpiled. Can hold three, and works in conjunction with Swallow and Spit Up. Once used by either Swallow or Spit Up, energy stockpiled reduces to zero, and Defense and Special Defense fall.
  • Swallow* - Normal | Status | Swallows the energy stored and heals herself in proportion to the amount stored. 1x = 25% of stamina; 2x = 50% of stamina; 3x = 100% of stamina.
  • Telekinesis* - Psychic | Status | Makes the target float in the air for three posts. Can also be used to lift people, Pokemon, and items, but only for a limited time and with very little side to side movement.
  • Charge Beam - Electric | Special | Base Power is 25, and has a lesser chance of raising the user's Special Attack.
  • Constrict - Normal | Physical | Base Power is 5, has no chance of lowering Speed.
  • Minimize - Normal | Status | Only gets slightly smaller, only increases Evasion by one instead of two, and takes even more increased damage than the normal double amount from Body Slam, Stomp, Needle Arm, Dragon Rush, Steamroller, Heat Crash, Heavy Slam, Flying Press, and Malicious Moonsault.
  • Astonish - Ghost | Physical | Base Power is 15, has a lessened chance to cause Flinch.
  • Payback - Dark | Physical | Base Power is 25, doubles to 50 if the user moves after the target.
  • Hex - Ghost | Special | Base Power is 25, doubles to 50 when used against a Pokemon with a non-volatile status condition.
  • Shadow Ball - Ghost | Special | Base Power is 40, has a lessened chance to lower the target's Special Defense, and has a higher chance to ricochet off a Pokemon with Bullet Proof and target the user instead.
  • Spit Up - Normal | Special | Spits up this energy as an attack, dealing more damage in proportion to the amount stored, but only half as much as a battle-ready Spit Up.
Species/Type: Misdreavus - Ghost
Nickname: Missy
Gender: Female
Ability: Levitate - Unaffected by Ground-Type moves, Arena Trap, Spikes, Toxic Spikes (can't nullify them easily), Sticky Web, Rototiller, and terrain. Can be lost during Gravity, when holding an Iron Ball, under the effects of Ingrain, or has been hit by Smack Down or Thousand Arrows. Can enter Sky Battles.
Appearance: This Misdreavus is a bit smaller than average only being 2'00" (60.96 cm) and weighs about 2 lbs (0.91 kg).
Nature/Personality: Gentle | Missy doesn't like battling. She also is really shy. She doesn't like being in front of a large audience, and she definitely doesn't like having to hurt others. However, she will try for her trainer, her concerted effort usually rewarding her with more snuggles and awesome treats. She also is Reggie's emotional support Pokemon, as well as using Reggie as her emotional support human.
History: Found in Eterna Forest, Missy was busy singing by herself when Reggie came upon her. Her singing was better sounding than the other Misdreavus, as she was working really hard to stand out. Entranced by her singing, Reggie wanted to use her for contests and caught her. Upon realizing her shy demeanor and gentle nature, he decided not make her battle or perform so much, but is still trying to get her to feel more comfortable with it.
Moves:
  • Hex* - Ghost | Special | Deals double damage if the opponent is affected by a non-volatile status condition.
  • Mean Look* - Normal | Status | Prevents fleeing or switching out until the user is removed from battle or if the targeted has Run Away, is holding a Smoke Ball, is a Ghost-Type, or used U-Turn, Volt Switch, Parting Shot, Flip Turn, or when Dragon Tail, Circle Throw, Roar, or Whirlwind are used on the affected target. Fails to breach Crafty Shield. Can hit through Protect, Detect, and Spiky Shield.
  • Confuse Ray* - Ghost | Status | Confuses the opponent.
  • Astonish* - Ghost | Physical | Has a chance to cause Flinching.
  • Confusion* - Psychic | Special | Has a small chance to cause Confusion.
  • Hyper Voice* - Normal | Special | Damages all adjacent opponents, even hitting behind a Substitute. Doesn't affect those with Soundproof. Cannot be used after being affected by Throat Chop for two posts. Deals half damage when used against a Pokemon with Punk Rock Ability.
  • Thunder Wave* - Electric | Status | Paralyzes the opponent, unless they are a Ground-Type.
  • Destiny Bond* - Ghost | Status | If this is used when the opponent knocks this Pokemon out as the direct result of an attack, the attacking opponent also faints and faints after the user. The effect disappears after the first reaction. Does not activate due to indirect damage, such as weather damage, Leech Seed, or Future Sight. Can bypass Focus Sash, Sturdy, and Magic Guard. Can affect non-adjacent foes. Can't be used in the next post if successfully executed in the previous post. Cannot use against Dynamaxed Pokemon.
  • Screech - Normal | Status | Decreases Defense by one, has a higher chance of missing, and doesn't affect those with Soundproof. Can't use if affected by Throat Chop for two posts.
  • Growl - Normal | Status | Affects only the intended target and not adjacent opponents, and cuts Attack for only a few posts. Doesn't affect those with Soundproof, Hyper Cutter, Clear Body, White Smoke, or Full Metal Body. Doesn't work if affected by Throat Chop for two posts.

FINALLY!!!! A CHARACTER SHEET OF REGGIE!!

Yes, his Pokemon section is incomplete. Don't worry about it, I'll add the rest later when I actually get sleep :'D

  • Mental Issues/Powers

Alright, in case Koop ever gets around to starting Galar, I'm prepared.

Name: Bruce Bacon
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Hometown: Vermillion Kanto
Appearance:
BruceBenito.png
Personality: Competitive, ambitious, and hard working. Bruce literally reaches for the skies, wanting to one day be able to fly into outer space. He loves flying, a passion passed down on to him by his father, along with the brown leather jacket he always wears. He doesn't only love flying though, he lives for speed. Sitting down an being patient isn't his way of life. The need for adrenaline does get him in trouble sometimes, but since he's never been caught, there's no proof of that.
Background: He was born, joined the Kanto air force when he was 18, has been traveling to different regions and is currently on leave, after having crashed a valuable plane trying to show off to a girl in Hoenn. Until he is ordered to return to base, he has decided to explore the world, on the ground, maybe that will help him stop trying to mess things up.

Name: Laura Willham
Gender: "Female"
Age: 18
Trainer Class: Battler
Physical Appearance: Laura is an average sized young woman with medium long purple hair tied in a ponytail behind her and a rather large chest. She has dark green eyes and a small swirl pattern on her left eye. Her skin is slightly pale and her teeth are sharp.
1676232604940.png
Clothing: Laura wears a simple black tank top under a purple shoulderless sweater with the sleeves rolled up. She wears a pair of black spats under a grey miniskirt. A pair of grey stockings cover her legs and she wears a pair of white sneakers over her feet. An accessory that looks like an Odd Keystone is strapped to Laura's hip alongside her pokeballs.
Personality: Laura appears to be a rather shy and reclusive indivdual, she is very awkward when it comes to conversing with people and she often fumbles her words. To top it all off, she is also a bit clumsy, even simple task will cause panic from her. Nevertheless, Laura possesses a strong drive to become a pokemon trainer of great renown. She is determined and is always seeking to improve herself until she reaches her goal.
Backstory: Born and raised within the borders of Galar, the spectacle of pokemon battling has been ingrained in the mind of Laura since childhood. She dreamed of one day becoming a trainer known in all regions. Unfortunately, life had other plans in store. During an outing when she was 17, Laura became involved in a traffic accident. While no lives were lost during this event, Laura was unfortunatly struck into a coma. With no knowing when or even if she was going to wake up, it appeared the young woman's dream died before she even got to start.

However, that was not the case. A year after she was hospitalized, while a nurse was making her rounds, Laura was found awake. After some convincing, the young woman was allowed to leave the hospital and return home. Something was off about the reawakened woman however. Despite looking the same as before, Laura's personality was a shift from how she used to be. She became a lot quiter, more meek and less sociable. Nonetheless, everyone was glad that she was back. Without any delay, the woman set off to achieve her childhood dream of becoming a renowned trainer.

Despite looking the same as before, Laura's personality was a shift from how she used to be. She became a lot quiter, more meek and less sociable. Nonetheless, everyone was glad that she was back. Without any delay, the woman set off to achieve her childhood dream of becoming a renowned trainer.

Name: Nuatsiki "Nua" Tenkiwara
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Trainer Class: Researcher

Physical Appearance: Nua's steely-gray eyes pierce through whatever they're set on, and when they're not narrowed in annoyance they're wide with interest. Her skin is cream-white, and her curly brown hair cascades halfway down her back unless it's up in a bushy ponytail. She has a slim physique and stands at five-feet-four-inches tall.
Clothing: Uhhhhh...TBD
nuatsiki full body.png
Personality: Nua is a dedicated researcher, and when she sets her mind to a task there is little that can pull her from it. She spends much of her free time pouring over academic texts, her aptitude for knowledge absorption fueling a "smarter than you" ego from a young age.

She's headstrong, constantly clashing with people she's challenged by or wants to challenge, and she takes immense satisfaction in being correct and intensely despises being wrong. Her academic genius has earned her prestige from learning institutions across the Hoenn region, a fact she loves to brag about, but her contentiously-competitive nature has earned her few friends. Nua is by no means a lonely girl, though, and she often feels that solitude allows her to produce her best work.

Backstory: The Hoenn region’s Mossdeep City is a center of technological research and development, and the hometown of Nuatsiki Tenkiwara. She was born (REST TBD)

@| Korutesu | just letting you know I'm waiting for a Quinn post to progress. 'Cause even though the Kricketune already told Rick it wasn't his pokémon, it would look weird to me to just move on and ignore Quinn.
really sorry, its totally my fault. will post soon, cause i've been busy for way too long and i finally have time to post today

You know, completely forgot to do this earlier today and yesterday. But in the next couple of days, I'm going to be moving the battle forward and bringing in a Blastoise. If you haven't posted yet, I would suggest doing so, even if it's just a reaction of the Gyarados coming onto shore.

Here is the link of it appearing:

I will also give some sort of summary with what's happening for those who want to post but don't have time to read through a bunch of posts.

Basically, Naka gets half-heartedly slapped back onto shore, using her Aerodactyl to save her as she lands on the shore. Her Wishiwashi carries the submerged Reina, her Lapras and Swampert, Esther, and her Shellos and Feebas to shore in her hollow school form before releasing them when they get off shore. The Gyarados got hit by her Swampert's Liquidation, Aerodactyl's Stone Edge, and Wishiwashi's Scale Shot. It used Twister to blow them away and cause damage. From Naka's Barraskewda's Poison Jab from an earlier post, it is Poisoned.

From this point onward, I have not made a post concerning what the Gyarados has seen or is doing, so I'll be reacting to these, as well.

Desmond is trying to hide behind a life guard stand. His Politoed goes to get Kricketune, Gene's Octillery, and Gene away from the fight as they are too close. Rick comes in by using his Rapidash to Wild Charge the Gyarados. Aldon is bugging Desmond about snapping a picture with an enraged Gyarados behind him, to which Desmond denies him and Aldon is a bit bummed but watches the Gyarados closely, his Slowpoke and Sigilyph also watching. Quincy is having his Sableye attack the Gyarados with Shadow Claw, which it thrashed it back to shore (not the actual move). Instead of battling, Reina and Esther are stuck together by Esther's Shellos and Reina suggests singing to it after a really embarrassing sentence. Esther's Surskit is likely still on the waters, but I don't know if Kyuu wants the Surskit to come back yet, or just wait until after the Gyarados fight.

The only people I'm unsure of are Savannah, her Shinx, what Gene and her Octillery and Phantump are doing, and where Eveline and her Sharpedo are or what they and her Krookodile - who is on shore - are doing. Colored, if Alt is going to participate, is near enough, but I don't know if they are willing to get involved.

If you want to post, I'm giving yall 3 days before moving on. I'd love a post from @GQuasch, @Alternate_Mystery and @Grand Master Koop. If not, I'll move on and we'll do the Blastoise fight right after. :D If yall don't have time but want to post, I'll give a couple day extension. Or I can auto your characters out of the way (in the case of Gquasch's and Koop's characters, as they are nearby) with permission.

I will be playing as Gyarados until it ultimately wakes up the Blastoise with a Hyper Beam to the water.

Name: Nakano Saito
Nickname: Naka, Sai
Gender: Female
Age: 26 (27 when she goes on the Mega arc)
Trainer Class: Trainer/Researcher
Physical Appearance: Sun-kissed skin, she has shaved the sides of her head for an undercut to form a deathhawk (which is where the hair is longer from front to back), which she'll put up in a ponytail. Her hair is blonde, can be flipped either side as it's long enough, her eyes are light grey, and she is 5'06" (167.6 cm) and weighs 145 lbs (61.2 kg). She has pierced ears, a scar running from the middle of her cheek down her neck from a Pokemon's Slash attack that grazed her, and a scar on her stomach from when she attempted to stop a Horn Attack. She has scars on her body from training her Pokemon and using her body to block hits. Mixed lean muscle from casually working out on her journeys and training from her father.
Clothing: She usually wears a tank top in various colors, jean shorts, and black combat boots in hotter weather; a t-shirt of varying colors, a black jacket (for when it gets chilly or windy), jeans, and black combat boots in temperate weather; and a long-sleeved shirt of varying colors, heavy-duty jeans, and black winter boots in winter weather. She always has a brown backpack that's covered in floral pink and green flowers that holds all of her items. She also has a white and black checkered belt that houses her PokeBalls, and a white lab coat when out doing research in the lab and a camouflage jacket when she’s out on field research.
Personality/Inner Machinations:
  • Detail-Oriented, Compassionate, Caring / Sadistic, Direct, Goofy
    • She makes sure she doesn’t miss anything.
      • Stems from not wanting to be ignored like she was.
    • Caring and responsible towards everyone, including those she’d rather hurt or leave alone.
      • Innate, as she honestly couldn’t live with herself if she were to grievously injure someone. She’ll even go back to take care of someone’s injuries she caused if she weren’t still in shock from her disassociation or from what she’s done.
      • Conflicts when she disassociates due to perceived trauma and adrenal stimulations, making her become more of who others perceived her as when she was younger: a sadistic monster who likes hurting others. Suffers from moral identity issues.
    • Tries to be patient.
      • Stems from times where she’s been impatient with herself, her friends, or her Pokémon, needlessly hurting others when she didn’t need to.
    • Can be blunt when speaking to others.
      • Stems from how she was taught and experiences dictated things went smoother when she didn’t beat around the bush.
    • Can get too burnt out and depressed when working for too long.
      • She already forgets to eat when she’s working, but without any breaks and burying herself in her work will cause interpersonal struggles between her Pokémon and humans other than her coworkers, who are rightfully worried for her. Stems from feeling like she has to prove herself (or others) that she’s a hardworking researcher.
    • When comfortable or drunk, shows her true self more, who is someone who loves to have fun, physically affectionate, uncaring of others opinions of her, and super confident in herself.
      • This other side of herself is hidden behind trauma when she was a child. This is built upon her want to be herself again and not worry anymore, her inhibitions completely melting away when drunk or comfortable.
  • Helpful, Curious, Analytical, and Empathic Narrator
    • Whether it be logic or emotion, she searches for a reason behind any statements, questions, and even body language. Prioritizes problems first and wants to help. Sometimes tries digging too deep and is wrong and/or gets too nosy and breaches boundaries unintentionally.
      • She doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned due to fearing someone could be worse if she doesn’t at least see something. Sometimes recognizes when she shouldn’t butt in, but has a hard time keeping herself from helping others as she wishes others would have helped her.
    • Hyper aware of others, herself, and her surroundings.
      • Stems from hoping others pay attention to her when she needs help, and from past experiences of things having gone wrong.
  • Dependent on how others perceive her
    • Will become defensive if they view her negatively. Will do anything for them to change their view of her, including change or hurt herself.
      • Stems from trauma of how others perceived her negatively for trying to force her tired Pichu to continue.
    • Prioritizes her friends and research over herself, as she rarely ever had any friends who’ve stuck with her, and research is her life, becoming a workaholic.
      • Craves personal interaction more so than her own health because nobody aside from her family really cared about her health beyond their own need to help her for something she could do.
    • Chameleon-like in behavior - will fit and become a foil or similar to others in the group.
      • More innate, as she struggles to find herself and who she is for her entire life, but it was exacerbated from the trauma. While she understands who she is while drunk could largely be herself in her truest state, it could also just be the alcohol talking or just impulsive behavior stemming from something she thinks is there. She doesn’t actually believe it’s herself.
Fears: Naka has stage fright, but it goes deeper than that. While it doesn’t rear its ugly head when she’s showing off what she knows to people she’s teaching, she feels like people are judging her when too many look at her while she's trying to enjoy a Pokemon battle - from how sadistic she seems and the way she treats her Pokemon, even when not during a fight. It stems from when she was in school. Presentations she excelled at, but when she was to do a mock battle with her Pichu, she kept pushing her Pichu, even if she seemed unable to fight. People began to speculate she wasn't sympathizing with her Pokemon, and thought she was abusing them. Why else would she tell a literal Baby Pokemon to continue the fight even though she was too hurt to continue? It was found out from egging Naka about this that she knew Pichu can do better in a fight, she just needs to push her limits. However, the kids took that as she was just being cruel and sadistic, and that even her perfectionist ways was going to end up getting her Pokemon killed. They bullied her anytime she got close to having a Pokemon battle, even as she got new Pokemon. Now, she can't handle a Pokemon battle when there's big group of people watching, and the trauma has stemmed into general stage fright when there are too many people looking at her whenever she's doing something that isn't about saving someone's life (as the adrenaline will cause her to forget about the audience, but it may make her hesitate). Because of this fear, it has prevented her from doing any gyms in Galar, and she’s staunchly avoided stadium tournaments, contests, or performances. To combat this, she tries to be more perfect to avoid criticism about how she treats her Pokémon, but this can cause her to fuss too much about how she’s perceived and may even freeze her in place. When her Pokemon act out of line, she feels as if she can't properly discipline or scold them, but she does it anyway. But it still embarrasses her deeply. If too many people label her as an abuser, she will lose her research, her standing in her career, and her general way of life. Even if irrational, it isn't unfounded. The fear of losing her work stems from this. Losing her work is like losing her life. It is her life. It was what she wanted to do as a career when she was younger, and she wasn’t going to let bullies tell her she couldn’t research Pokémon just because of her battling performance with her Pichu when she was eleven. However, because of her passion, she is just as afraid of losing it as she is afraid of losing her Pokémon. This shows though that she has the persistence to ignore the haters, she just needs to not let others opinions affect her and be true to herself.
Backstory: Born to Bansyou and Aria as a firstborn in Accumula Town, Unova, she was brought up in a loving family in a carefree yet hardworking city full of peace and song. Along with her younger brother, Mason, she was taught that perseverance, determination, patience, and hard work was what drove a person to do amazing things and she was rewarded as she learned these principles in life, being given a Pichu when she was ten as a way to graduate her to her new stage in her life - an attempt at getting her career started in research. She was a quick academic student, taking college classes after her academia life and learning about the mythos and theories of the legends and myths of the world and what concepts they were associated with. Not only that, but she was a wonderful socialite despite her tendency to take things literally and overanalyze everything, making her a favorite among many people. That was until her battle performance with her Pichu. She pushed the Baby Pokémon too hard, thinking she could do better and win, but she learned quickly that people were quick to label her as a horrible person for the way she forcefully projected her arrogant view of her Pokémon. It was just Naka’s perfectionism preventing her from ever wanting to lose and her stubbornness had her shamed. She lost the curated patience quickly, and her tolerance for being beaten and accosted shifted. This small-scale fame became widespread infamy on the school grounds of Unova, and she was quickly ignored or bullied. Losing all of her friends, she begged her family to move somewhere else, somewhere where she can restart anew.

They moved to Sinnoh, her parents wanting to give their daughter a fresh start. Not only did they need to move to Sinnoh for their daughter, but the next sumo wrestling competition was happening in Veilstone City and there was an opening to become a nurse in a hospital for humans in Jubilife City. They took a new home in Sandgem Town, giving themselves and their two children a city to ease themselves into. Sandgem Town was more rural than Accumula Town, but it wasn’t as loud or bustling as Jubilife, who they knew would have affected their children developmentally. It was a good call, because Naka and Mason began to integrate themselves into the life in Sandgem Town, and it was the perfect place for Naka to see Professor Rowan. After having a talk with Naka’s father and hearing how much she needed this career choice, she was given a scholarship by the aging professor to learn in a summer camp, and be taken on field trips to other regions to learn more and potentially catch any Pokémon. She felt like she was saved, further cementing how almost codependent she became to her research. In her travels around the world, she collected quite a few Pokémon, including an Eevee, Arrokuda, Hatenna, Diglett, Wishiwashi, and even resurrected a fossil to acquire an Aerodactyl. She was more excited she got new friends than worried about them ever fighting, even if they had the knack for it. Mainly because she wanted to prove everyone wrong who bullied her.

Her academia life soon found her working as an intern for the research team under the professor’s guidance in Sinnoh, and she found that she loved just watching Pokémon. Earlier in her life, she found herself people-watching and passing judgments onto them because of how bitter she felt, but this felt fresh and new and exciting. She began to learn why not just Pokémon do the way they do, but people as well. And maybe, if she learned how those kids were who bullied her, she can understand where they were coming from and how to avoid that situation in the future. She was starting to see patterns, and the psychology of such fascinated her to start taking high school level lessons in psychology. After a couple years of working as an intern and making headway on her research and academia, she was allowed to travel Sinnoh and gain the badges. She obtained a rather rambunctious and impatient Chimchar to start her journey, but found herself walled soon after, even with the Pokémon she obtained from her field trips, who haven’t had time to be properly trained yet. But, she now had experience of being out in the wild alone and not on a field trip. After she turned sixteen, she was told to go to Kanto to aid in teaching a few kids who would be starting their journeys how to care for themselves, basic survival tips, and maybe help them find a career path. During this journey, not only did she catch a Paras, but she also learned how to train Pokémon properly from a battle-hungry kid who had been tutored under Blaine.

Refusing to do the gym challenge in Kanto, she completed her quest by getting the children situated enough in Kanto to start roaming around on their own, and she returned to Sinnoh to try at the gym challenge. After a couple years, she managed to obtain at least six of the eight badges. Because of her potential and her ability to train Pokémon and be relatively safe, Rowan suggested she work under Birch and do the gym challenge there to not only hone her skills, but do ecological study while she did the gym challenge. She received a Treecko when she got there, and captured a Lotad, Mudkip, and a female Snorunt throughout her travels. She managed to get all the eight badges despite some difficulties and harrowing adventures, but she finally felt far better to compete for the last two badges in Sinnoh. Returning to Sinnoh, that’s what she did.

Having obtained sixteen badges now and feeling like nothing could stop her twenty-one-year-old self with two teams - one for battle/protection and one for research - she began traveling the world in her new job. In Unova was when she found a Deino she took in, the capture of which had her realize the world outside of her passionate research was far colder and darker than she wanted to admit. This wasn’t just survival like she had been worrying about, this was the ethics and morals of humankind. How could she protect herself and others from people who could be so callous with a life? She began making her code, wishing not to become the monsters she saw as she found poachers along her research stints in Kalos and Kanto, the events of which caused the scars down her face and neck and on her stomach.

However, her constant workaholic nature caused her depression and anxiety to form as she continued to work. While her performance hasn’t suffered, her mental state starts to hit a thin line when she doesn’t take a break from her work. The most she had felt for now was burnout, but changed when she began her mega evolution journey.

Because of how close she was to Aero, she could have chosen Aerodactyl to work for mega evolution, but she felt closer with her Sceptile, Silenus, and he had an arguably bigger drive to gain strength than Aero. When he was a Treecko, he was so mild and logical that he wouldn’t even fight. He saw no point in getting stronger and it was just a waste of time if it was all for glory and trinket collecting. That was until he realized it was to protect others when he evolved into a Grovyle to protect his trainer from a band of overly aggressive Numel and Torkoal. While he didn’t beat them all, he did distract them long enough to help Naka get out of there. Since then, he takes training a bit seriously and doesn’t skip out. Naka understood his former point of view, but when she needed her Pokémon to be stronger so she can get badges to access areas she otherwise couldn’t without a lot of paperwork and get some protection from the dangerous Pokémon she’ll be researching, it was still annoying. Sometimes, she would yell or berate her Treecko, who saw Naka’s vocal frustrations as her being a kid who didn’t know better. Why should he fight for a girl who was about strength and an inherently selfish reason?

It turns out, she wasn’t about strength in and of itself. Naka only saw strength as a tool to further her career and as a shield or weapon to protect herself and others. On numerous occasions, she’s saved him, whether it be quick thinking commands, returning him to his ball where he was safe but left herself open, or diving into her Pokémon if pulling out a ball wasn’t faster than her lunge. She just wanted to make sure he was okay and would do anything to make sure he was okay, even sacrificing her own health. He finally evolved into a Sceptile when fighting Winona for the second time, using the trees to their advantage before fainting and leaving Winona’s team crippled enough for the rest of Naka’s team to finish off the gym leader and get her badge.

Feeling like she was doing more than she needed to and understanding that he now had the strength to be her guardian, he began protecting her more. One moment was when Naka was swimming with her Wishiwashi and Barraskewda to get to Sootopolis City, only to suddenly get attacked by a swarm of Carvanha and Sharpedo. Naka didn’t want to release her other Pokémon, but Silenus escaped his Pokéball to fend them off so Naka could flee back up to the surface, where she returned him and relaxed from the harrowing near-death scenario. Feeling like she could trust and respect him far more than she thought she could, she began treating him as more of a friend.
Species/Type: Sceptile - Grass (Due to being Grass-Type, this Pokemon is immune to the effects of Leech Seed, Effect Spore, and powder and spore moves (i.e.: Magic Powder, Poison Powder, Powder, Rage Powder, Sleep Powder, Spore, and Stun Spore))

Nickname: Silenus

Gender: Male

Ability: Overgrow - Powers up Grass-Type moves in a fight when Silenus's stamina is low or if he is too injured.

Appearance: A regular ol' Sceptile. Except for the fact that he’s 6'03" (190.5 cm), large enough to give Naka a ride through the trees.

Nature/Personality: Mild | As a Treecko, he was rather patient, wasn't really explosive, and has a logical and reasonable mind. Despite seemingly being laidback, Silenus was so comfortable that he didn't think he needed to battle. He did eventually evolve and has since changed his view to do so to protect, soon growing a more righteous and protective idealistic viewpoint. Become strong so nothing else can harm you.

History: During Naka's start to her Hoenn gym challenge, she was given a Treecko by the Hoenn Professor. This Treecko was rather mild. He was patient, wasn't really explosive, and he had a logical and reasonable mind. Despite seemingly being laidback, Treecko was so comfortable, he didn't think he needed to battle. There was no point to battling, so why fight? Why collect gym badges? While he understood why people and Pokemon alike would go to such lengths to achieve glory and fortune, it wasn't for him and he didn't want to be a part of it. However, it would be when they ran into an issue. He had yet to evolve and the Fire-Types were starting to encroach upon them. Treecko would have perished if it weren't for Naka risking getting burned to save him from the oddly aggressive Numel and Torkoal. Due to her actions, he evolved into Grovyle when they were against a band of Numel who wouldn't let them leave, and he confounded them enough to help Naka and himself get away. Since then, he's learned that it wasn't fame or fortune, it was about getting stronger so they wouldn't have something as harrowing as that ever again. During the second fight against Winona in Fortree City, her Grovyle evolved yet again into Sceptile and used the trees nearby to his advantage to confound and whittle down her Pokemon enough for Naka's other Pokemon to finish the job when he fainted. Unluckily for them - as they were about to make it to Sootopolis City, Naka nearly drowned when a group of Sharpedo attacked. Her Wishiwashi and Barraskewda weren't able to stop them and she didn't think sending out any of her other Pokemon in water was a good idea. Fortunately, Silenus escaped his PokeBall and saved Naka from being fish food and they managed to reach the last city, where his efforts aided in getting her the last badge. At this point in time, Naka and Silenus have a pretty good understanding of one another. They both protect each other, and he wouldn’t mind being there for her to protect her. It’s not until the mega evolution arc where Silenus realizes being strong was being a guardian, which ran through his blood.

Moves:
Frenzy Plant* - Grass - Special - Summons thick, thorny vines from under the ground and swarms the opponent with them. Due to the strength of this attack, he is exhausted afterwards and is vulnerable to attack.
Leaf Storm* - Grass - Special - Exhausts the user using this, lowering their Special Attack.
Dragon Pulse* - Dragon - Special - Is a long-range shot, so it can hit non-adjacent Pokemon in a fight.
Focus Blast* - Fighting - Special - Has a 10% chance to lower the target's Special Defense.
Leaf Blade* - Grass - Physical - Has a heightened critical hit ratio.
Night Slash* - Dark - Physical - Has a heightened critical hit ratio.
Dual Chop* - Dragon - Physical - Hits twice with draconic-cloaked leaf blades.
Brick Break* - Fighting - Physical - Removes Light Screen, Reflect, and Aurora Veil if it hits the opponent.
Quick Guard - Fighting - Status - Protects all allies on the user's side of the field from priority moves, like Quick Attack or Aqua Jet. Well, taking half damage.
X-Scissor - Bug - Physical - Cuts in a criss-cross fashion, but does half the damage.
Quick Attack - Normal - Physical - Is a quick attack with increased priority, but deals less damage and isn't as accurate.

Seeds are an indicator to see how well it’s handling its mega evolution. If they all shrivel, it means he’s struggling and his moves won’t deal the same amount of power as usual. If they are nice and round, it means he’s handling the evolution energy well and can keep going. It can’t use all ten. A seed (starting from tail up) shrivels up once it’s used its tail to revitalize and regrow it. After a few seconds due to the evolution energy, the seed starts to round out again, but it won’t have the rejuvenating energy the Sceptile needs to regrow its tail. Once the ninth seed’s energy is used to regrow the tail, the Mega Sceptile can no longer regrow its tail until after rest.
After joining a group in Johto where she was supposed to wait for the Sanguine Swarm, she competed in the Whirl Cup (just barely with her massive stage fright), competed in the Glitter Lighthouse gauntlet with her Sceptile and Hatterene, fought in the unofficial Normal-Type Gym in Olivine, competed in the Pokémon Sumo Conference with her Swampert to rival her father (swiftly lost), competed in the Pokémon Balloon Race with her Aerodactyl and Flareon, and got first in the Grass-Type Tournament in a town between Ecruteak and Goldenrod with Sceptile as Naka beats her stage fright enough (just barely, as her Sceptile fought almost completely autonomously). She then went to other festivals, competing in the Running of the Tauros in Palmpona’s Festival, Tour de Alto Mare with her Barraskewda in Alto Mare, aided in protecting people with some research on the side during the Sanguine Swarm north of Olivine, and competed in the Extreme Pokémon Race in Eggseter with her Sceptile.

Due to how much recognition she was receiving, someone was bound to find her and give her a boost. Someone related in business to someone rather important had heard of Naka’s research and achievements, and thought that her and her Sceptile would be fit for a test. If they could complete it, it would be more research for Naka and she might learn something. The televised events had shown she was terrified, and the old man found himself intrigued by her and wanted to know why and if there was any way he could help her. His agent found her in Eggseter, and told her to go to a Mirage Forest south of Route 109 in Hoenn to get something that would benefit her research. She goes there, riding on her Aerodactyl and bringing her team along, especially her Sceptile.

When she arrives, she discovers the forest was dense like a jungle, there was a huge tree that was wider than a skyscraper, and there was a tribe of the Treecko line. The leader of the tribe, a Sceptile of a more average size that Silenus towered over, requested a fight. Mistaking this as a threat for being in their territory, Naka tries reasoning with them, as they came here for to study and learn. The Sceptile continued to request a fight, to which they agreed, but they were swiftly walloped. To rejuvenate him, the Sceptile sets him near the large tree’s roots and buries him in dead leaves and dirt, with Naka thinking they were burying him alive. They keep her from interrupting the ritual, her cries going silent as she watched her partner slowly start to rejuvenate and became his normal self after the day ends. Upon realizing they were just healing him in their own way, Naka realizes they weren’t all bad. The comment on how they were here to study and learn prompted the leader to teach Silenus how to achieve ascension, which is what they call mega evolution. They must become one with the forest and go back to their roots. It is being true to himself. Does he want Mega Evolution, or does he want it because Naka wants it? Does he want it for himself or does he want it to protect what’s important to him? Is Naka important to him? While he’s rather mild, he’s never really thought about himself that much beyond what he wanted or needed in the moment, always living in the present and letting Naka worry about the past and future; always doing what was expected of him or what was important to Naka. But if staying true to himself meant going back to what he was like as a Treecko, then he didn’t need the Mega Evolution. He denies it, saying to the leader he is perfect as is with his trainer by his side, and he doesn’t need some religious sentiment or power from a stone to prove that. They go to leave, but the tribe of Sceptile has a rival in a nearby Salamence that occasionally comes by to burn down their forest. The sudden surprise razing had forced Naka to send out her Pokémon, but they were swiftly defeated by the flames of the Salamence. Because the tribe of Sceptile and Naka’s Pokémon had weakened the raiding dragon, Silenus aids Naka and decides he does want the Sceptilite. He found himself to be a guardian of those he cared for, and it would be remiss of him to miss out on this opportunity to get even stronger than before to prevent his special person from succumbing to his own selfish pride. They beat the Salamence back, the Dragon/Flying-Type fleeing. They proved themselves to the tribe, and both Silenus and Naka help each other fight through the gnarly roots of the tree to obtain the Sceptilite.

Silenus found a guardian within himself.
While Aerodactyl was too damaged to fly out of the Mirage Forest, they found Palace Maven Spenser, who was chilling in the Mirage Forest and training here since the Battle Frontier was going to start a tournament soon. Naka decides to ask him for help, concerned for her Pokémon’s health as they just fought a Salamence. Spenser helps her easily, letting her Pokémon rest outside of her Pokeballs and helping them recover with the power of his herbal medicines. Naka spots a Key Stone and tells him she just got a Sceptilite from the nearby tribe of Sceptile. Sensing she wanted one and recognizing her as the woman he was intrigued with from her moments on television and the research she compiled from Birch and Rowan’s successor, he wanted to see if she was even up to snuff. Instead of a fight, he asks her questions about how she views her Pokémon, and how she got the Sceptilite and how she knew where it was. She views them as companions and partners, and she tells him of the guy who showed the location after she barely managed to win the Grass-Type tournament. She neglected to inform him she had stage fright, but he already knew.

He decides to test Silenus’s trust in Naka, as well as Naka’s fear. He has Silenus blindfolded, and Naka has to command her Sceptile through an obstacle course. Of course, it wasn’t made easy. Spenser unleashed his Shiftry and Crobat, both using Double Team to make Naka nervous and stutter. Despite the obstacle course being difficult and Naka having issues with so many judging eyes looking at her, they did manage to complete the obstacle course, even if it was rather slow. Spenser gifts her a spare Key Stone, one he used as a replacement just in case he lost his original (as a joke).

Then, they train, with Spenser using his own Mega Venusaur. Naka used the Sceptilite and the Key Stone, but while Silenus Mega Evolved, he lost himself to his primal instincts and didn’t listen to her. The Mega Venusaur was practically unphased, and Naka spent a couple weeks to a month with Spenser training and getting closer with Silenus so that he can acknowledge and embrace his new Draconic instincts and listen to her. After training not only her Sceptile but the rest of her team (as well as Spenser teaching her how to find peace within herself, which helped with her perfectionism and paranoia), Spenser half-jokes that she should attend the Battle Frontier tournament and really show off her skills. But before she does so, he requests that she build that emotional strength with her Sceptile, and suggests she goes to Wikstrom’s Castle of Chivalry to prove herself and her Sceptile there.

While there, she met a young girl she had traveled through Sinnoh with just a few months earlier, and together with her Empoleon, Naka and her Silenus trained under Wikstrom to become knights. Or, at least prove themselves. After reaching the third task, they get the treasure he and his Aegislash and Klefki were protecting, but find the scroll to be a reflective surface and empty. Wikstrom says it’s for them to choose who they are and their own destinies in life because the face staring back at you is the only one who can decide who you are. Naka feels almost called out, but decides to go back to Hoenn, where the Battle Frontier-hosted Tournament was going to happen, thinking that the audience wouldn’t bother her this time. Of course, it still does, but not as much as it did before. She did have a few blunders, keeping her from getting high in the brackets, but she did manage to show off how strong her team was and her own strength towards her paranoia. When they meet again, Spenser says that once she has fully tempered her spirit and mind to her paranoia, he'd like to fight her again and maybe even award her with a Silver Spirits Symbol. But because she had tried and he wanted to reward her for her effort, he gave her a Copper Spirits Symbol. It's unofficial, but Naka treasures it dearly, as it's to show she's making headway on herself and changing for the better.
Naka’s morals aren’t completely black and white. She wouldn’t mind killing if you ask her in the moment and all conditions are met, meaning it has to be a last resort. Conditions include: 1) Pokémon aren’t available to help detain, 2) It’s too dangerous or not feasible to apprehend or incapacitate the person, and 3) Someone’s life is in danger, whether that be her own or someone else’s.

While she does have problems with killing as it is objectively wrong in her mind, she does agree that sometimes, you have to do so and take care of the mental fallout afterwards. When in a situation where the scenario gets dangerous and the adrenaline starts pumping, she disassociates and loses her emotions, only working on logic and code. Her code is to protect those who are with her, and only incapacitate or detain unless that is impossible, then get away. If that is impossible, then kill. She will never ask for her Pokémon to kill, even going so far as to prevent them herself. However, if she does end up killing someone in this haze, the shock of what she did would prevent her from registering what she did until after it’s all said and done.

She will end up grievously injuring a Team Rocket admin and will fight to keep her alive. Because it was an admin and Naka gave information to the police about what else she saw and why she had to do what she had to do, she was left off the hook, which only made her feel worse. While she is told that the admin survived, she didn’t register it as anything good, but now a painful reminder of who she could have turned into, or already turning into.

The mental fallout will be excruciating, as she’ll start to question herself and if she is even really worth having her Pokémon be as strong as they are and if it’s worth it to continue her career if she’s so willing to do something so horrible. The realization that she’s a horrible person will start to affect her behavior towards friends, family, and her Pokémon. She will become more distant, work more hours, and train her body by herself and not with her Pokémon. She needed to work on herself physically and emotionally, but all she ends up doing is stagnating herself. It will affect her relationship with her Sceptile so much that he will lose the ability to Mega Evolve entirely until she can fix herself. Not because of anything involuntarily, but as a choice from his fractured trust in her as he is worried about her mental well-being, and didn't feel comfortable trusting her like he had before, thinking she'd take his strength too far.

Spenser’s training would somewhat work as she tries to reconnect with family and her Pokémon, and she’ll regain her peace of mind, but she needs to find him again, so she goes to him in Hoenn and challenges him to a fight because she thinks he will help her, where she starts to become unhinged. The attempt to reconnect with people who cared about her caused her analyzing mind to pick up on patterns that weren’t really there, delusionally thinking her family thought she was a horrible person, too. Her Pokémon are worried for her, but they follow her orders, which are needlessly brutal, like she’s disassociating and going back to that time where she felt like she had to kill that admin. She wanted Spenser to understand her anguish, and in her own twisted way was to have her Pokemon hurt his brethren. However, her Pokemon didn't go as hard as Naka would have liked, which only angered her even more as the anger and frustrations went inward and further putting her down a spiral. Between Sceptile and Venusaur, where Venusaur Mega Evolved yet Sceptile couldn’t, Spenser aids her throughout the fight, then tells her that if she can’t focus on not only her Pokémon, but also herself, then she will never be capable of Mega Evolution and he might as well take her Key Stone and Sceptilite, as well as the copper spirit seal he made for her until she can handle her own mental fallout. While she heard the words and the threat to the very things she treasured as gaining her own sense of identity and peace with herself, it’s not until she watched her Sceptile and felt numb.

Silenus went back to her and took the Sceptilite from her back, giving her a determined look. Numbly, she mega evolved him.

The Mega Evolution was shaky at best. Silenus is having a hard time staying Mega Evolved, and seeing her Sceptile struggle for her despite his lessening trust in her mental state has her realizing just how far Sceptile will go to make her see his opinion of her, and that is he'll keep fighting for her to achieve her own peace. Sceptile's actions let Spenser's words sink in, and Naka realizes that her Sceptile is with her every step of the way, despite how she nearly shattered his trust in her. He was going to be her guardian, even from herself. She doesn’t believe she deserves this level of respect, but she takes the help anyway, vowing to be by his side and not let herself falter like that again.

Even though she very nearly took a life, she did so to preserve a life, and there was nothing she could have done to prevent herself from losing the life she swore to protect anyway. While the idea is foreign to her despite others likely having told her this, she realizes she’s not actually a horrible person. That she shouldn’t throw her entire life away because of something she did to save someone’s life, even if it was unjust. That she’s not going to turn into a serial killer and hurt or kill others because she didn’t murder out of cold blood. That she shouldn’t burn bridges with anyone and distance herself from those who were trying to help her. Realizing that what she did was unavoidable if she still wanted to preserve a life, she doesn’t regret her actions as badly, especially since she did what she could to prevent her deadly actions from taking a life - even if they were a villain. While she wasn’t able to best Spenser, she showed she was trying to at least better herself and her relations with her Pokémon, by not being swallowed up by her own issues. Spenser lets her keep the copper seal, the Key Stone, and the Sceptilite, but has her promise him that the next time she goes to him, she has a better mind for herself and that to find peace within oneself is to forgive oneself, even while giving what she did the weight and respect it deserves. She can’t use other people’s opinions of her to judge her character for her, she has to do that herself and meet the other person in the mirror. If she can’t make peace with her own reflection like what she saw in that scroll from the Castle of Chivalry, she’ll never be at peace with herself and will constantly live in fear of what others think of her as and the apparent “monster” that lives within her, which only grows the longer she keeps fueling it with her fear and she will eventually become that monster due to her chameleon-like personality of becoming the thing people see her as to fit in.
When she sees herself as the monster everyone else saw her as, it symbolizes the beast within Mega Sceptile (the Dragon-Typing), as Silenus has to make peace and embrace the beast that has been within himself all along. He was always a more logical being, not that of instinct or emotions, but managed to wrestle it down and figure it out for her (of course, with her help). Knowing Naka goes through something very similar, he wants to teach that to her but doesn’t know how. That is until she fights Spenser and he tries to mega evolve despite the pain, showing her that he does believe in her despite his fractured trust over his worry about her mental state and how she’ll abuse his power - something he was already reluctant in having but trusted she’ll make good use of it.

Being in peace with oneself reminds Naka of serenity, and that reminds her of the forests she constantly finds herself in. Her behavioral ecologist research also symbolizes Mega Sceptile, as it is a mixture of nature (Grass-Types) and the origins of behavior - where all these instincts come from and how primal and ancient they all are, and how they develop from there depending on where they live and the experiences they have (Dragon-Typing, and her later predicament). She is as much of a badass as her Mega Sceptile, but she doesn’t need to be a complete monster to get there, nor is she a horrible person, as she still tried to help the person she nearly killed, and she still tries to protect, care, and nurture (like how Sceptile is the guardian of the forest and will care and nurture dying plants and Pokémon back to health, as well as a parallel for when Silenus gets beat by the leader Sceptile in the Mirage Forest but still helps take care of him in the end).

Obviously, the Spirits Symbol is supposed to symbolize peace of mind and acceptance of who you are. It's difficult to accept who you are if you don't even know yourself in the first place, and that's something Naka struggles with. She's this person every can go to, but she doesn't feel like she can do the same. Having a chameleon-like personality where you always shift who you are depending on the people around you is painful on one's identity and it can cause massive confusion that can persist into adulthood. You feel like you are playing as someone else half the time, yet you know you are still you, but you don't know which parts of you are truly you or qualities you wish you could be. When Naka gets the Copper Symbol, it's to show she's getting there to understanding who she even is as a person, but when she struggles because all of her morals crash down and her unresolved trauma exacerbates it, she feels like she really is just a monster and her only lifeline was the person who seemed to know how to help her. The Silver Spirits Symbol is something Naka will get later when she fights him officially, but it won't be because she beat him. It will be because she came back as herself truly, yet still struggles with some unresolved things that need to be dealt with, like her trauma. It might be a few years before she can even try for the Gold Spirits Symbol, but when she does, she'll be an even better version of who she truly is and she'll beat him.
