Ooh, I like that concept. Question, would/do they only go after "rare" pokemon or would they see anything and grab it anyway just because they might make money on it?

First, Pokémon outnumber people by a massive range. If they tried to capture every single Pokémon they saw, they’d literally always be working. Lol

Secondly, try and picture the market their in as something equivalent to rare collectibles nowadays.
Why try and market a Magikarp to someone when the lake 5 minutes away is full of em’ ya know?

Does anybody have any Gym Leaders they'd like to control? I can control the gym leaders if nobody wants to, but figured id ask beforehand.

I cAn CoNtRoL aLl Of ThEm....

On a serious note, I'll join up with a character :3 or two. Depending on how gungho about it I am. XD

To compound what Mystic Zander said, the Pokemon of interest would be Shiny Pokemon, rare Pokemon like Feebas and Lapras or those that are in protected preserves like Safari Zones (for example, Kangaskhan and the Happiny line), Pseudo-Legendaries since they are supposed to be super rare, Pokemon that don't live in Sinnoh and live in faraway locations (they may have a separate branch or just work alongside with a group of Pokemon Hunters who find rare Pokemon like other starters and Pseudos from other regions to sell for the big bucks there), and Pokemon that are really popular like Eevee or the starters.

Hell, maybe even Slowpoke Tails. XD

Hell, maybe I can have a character of mine get his Shiny Gastly from these guys indirectly XD

That's pretty ambitious. If your up for the challenge, cool.

If you need help or something, let me know!

Sounds cool. Take your time.

Sounds a lot easier than spending potentially days in the woods looking for an slightly different colored pokémon...

Sidenote... Dolan should keep a close eye on his lil ditto friend...

Edit: misspelled ditto.

Alright, then Jake should probably keep an eye out on his shiny Cranidos when he gets it, haha

Still need to decide which name i like better for it, Scully or Packie...

Also, would I maybe be allowed to make a member of this organization? Might have an idea for one

Sounds cool to me...

Oh, since Fossil Pokemon are quite rare, those too. XD

I do love me some fossils.

I don’t have a problem with it- but they’d likely just be a subordinate.
I guess I should note that this also differs from a lot of evil teams because we don’t have a classroom full of ‘leaders’.

Granted, subordinates typically range from gym 5 and up. So they could still be fairly prominent in terms of power.

On the other hand, if you’d like to make an oc who can create some more waves in the story, perhaps we could play with @ThAtGuY101 concept of a rival organization.

My idea is kinda both.

He doesn't exactly work for them, but doesn't work for a rival organization either.

He would be kinda like...someone they brought in to help them in exchange for a cut of the money they get.

Semi well known pokemon black marketer who can/does price how much pokemon are worth, handles their sales, knows how to deal with them, can be the auctioneer if they have auctions, etc. Basically does stuff like this for a living.

Snaps at people to be careful and watch out if they're messing around with specific pokemon, greedy but not stupid when it comes to this kinda thing, etc

Was thinking maybe he has a Murkrow as his partner, but not sure yet.

Depending on how things go, was thinking he could maybe escape at the end and if we continue this to another region he could pop back up there working for someone else/doing something else

If any of this seems reasonable or not, was just an idea

Name: Reginald "Reggie/Reg" Valerias
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Personality: Reggie is a very exuberant young man. He swings his arms around every which way to convey his emotions in what seems to be frantic motions, but they aren't meant to show panic. No, they are meant to show his unending excitement and make him something to stare at. He didn't care if people stared at him for negative or neutral reasons, he just cared he had a spotlight on him. With his Gastly sharing this same sentiment, the shininess factor and Reggie's loud and attention-grabbing antics make them the star of almost any show and they both drink up the attention people give them. When around people, he is extremely sweet and loyal to anyone who wants to be his friend, and he gains friends quickly - or at least becomes the other person's friend quickly, despite the other person not reciprocating the platonic relationship. He tries to get to know people as well as he can and will sacrifice the stuff he wants to make sure his friends are happy, and he is quick to defend his friends, leading to some misunderstandings if he's not careful to judge people's faces and reactions to each other.

He does have two sides to him. The normal rambunctious side of him is the side most people see. The more stoic and professional side of him are ones that business people see. Whenever he meets someone who is high up in the "ladder", he tends to adopt a more professional way of speaking and acting, forgoing most slang and his cheery attitude for something more polite and respectable. His voice is pretty baritone, but he can reach to the heights of tenor if he gets really excited. He is also becoming something of a lady's man and tries to charm women around his age. It isn't for any reason than to make the woman feel good about themselves while he flirts with them, trying to lift their spirits and make them smile. He understands he isn't everyone's type, but he does his best to sacrifice his feelings, time, and energy to make sure people around him are happy. However, you insult him when he thinks you are his friend and he'll get very paranoid about whether or not he's going to be your friend still, to the point where the paranoia eats away at him and it ends up destroying the relationship when it could have gotten better if he didn't freak out so much. If you aren't his friend and you mean it when you insult him, he just insults back in a coy, smug manner because he has no time for such silliness and is self-confident enough to not be persuaded by mere jabs from a stranger. Though, he will forgive a stranger for the comments they have said before easier than if a long-time friend were to try and make up for their comments and attitudes.
Likes: He adores Bug-Types, thinking they are so cute and misunderstood. Ghost-Types is his type specialty, and he really likes that type for many reasons. He also likes Psychic-Types due to their usefulness for his sleep schedule. He also loves having pretend tea parties, hide and seek, and training/cleaning his (and other people’s) Pokemon. He also likes flirting with the ladies, but mostly doing so to make them feel special.
Dislikes: He dislikes losing and may sometimes be a sore loser depending on how many people are watching him (if he’s in a Gym, then he’s not going to show how unsportsmanlike he is, he at least has enough self awareness for that). He also despises Dark-Types because he finds them spine-chillingly disturbing. He also hates losing sleep. He also hates getting dirty. Like all men, he doesn’t like being rejected, but can at least be a good sport about it.
Physical Appearance: Reggie has blonde hair that is combed back and bright sapphire eyes. He is 5'11" (180 cm) and weighs 160 lbs (72.57 kg). He has an average body type, but on the skinny side. He has porcelain pale skin, which is odd considering he has traveled before. It isn't so odd when people realize he's actually pretty vain and tries not to get himself too dirty.
Clothing: He usually wears something pretty close to travel-okay business casual clothing. He has dark grey dress pants, black dress shoes, black socks, a purple trainer belt with PokéBall slots, a dark purple dress shirt, and a green XTransceiver on his right wrist. He also has a simple black phone that should have a Rotom, but is fit with a sim card instead. Finishing off his look, he has a black dress coat with golden cuff buttons and a yellow and red striped bowtie. He occasionally wears a black trilby with a red sash around the base. He absolutely loves his trilby and will make sure it doesn't get damaged or lost. For more casual clothes when he knows he'll get dirty, he has black combat boots, baggy dark grey pants, a simple t-shirt with an vague Giratina design, his purple trainer belt, and a grey coat with red and black stripes on the front, yellow spiked pockets and cuffs, and the hoodie has yellow fluff around the hood's edges. Wherever he goes, he has a large ruddy red camping backpack on his back that holds items for a small pot, a small tent, bowls, utensils, rations, extra clothes, hygiene equipment, rope, and other such items used for a Pokemon Journey that isn't just survival.
Partner Pokémon: Shiny Haunter
Other Pokémon: Munna, Shedinja
Future Pokemon: Drifloon (but not for fighting), Misdreavus (more as a pet and won't be fighting), Duskull, Spiritomb, and Snorunt
Occupation: Ghost-Type Specialist and Trainer
Other: Reggie, as he would prefer anyone call him (even in a business casual setting), was born in Hearthome City, Sinnoh before being taken to Opelucid City, Unova to live out the rest of his childhood. He desperately wanted to go on an adventure and dreamed of a chance for his parents to be brave enough to send him out. While his childhood was peaceful and filled with teachings of both history of the Pokemon World, the different region's histories, learning of myths and legends, as well as having some close encounters that would mark him as a Medium for the rest of his life, he wanted to go outside and explore. Have an adventure. Have some fun. His parents wanted him to grow up the least sheltered as possible, but soon regretted it as he would constantly talk about going on adventures and defeating strong opponents. Most of the tournaments he watched on the television and his actions mirroring that of the Pokemon were enough to possibly make his mother faint if it weren't for her more difficult journeys as an up-and-coming Pokemon Trainer and finding her son's rambunctious hijinks endearing.

His father was basically as close as you can get to an aristocrat. He had lots of money and did his best to make sure his family lived comfortably. He never flaunted it, but instead flaunted his fashion sense and exuberant energy that his son emulated and turned the dial up to 11. Once Reggie was ten, he thought about which Pokemon he wanted. His favorite was by far a Gastly, but it wasn't a Starter Pokemon. Not having the foresight to see this sooner, he lost his motivation to go on a journey and began to focus solely on his academic life. He was the only one in his class to not have a Pokemon partner that was truly his, not just a Mimikyu or a Polteageist from his parents. Finally, when he was seventeen (and after his parents saved up as much as they could), they bought Reggie his first Pokemon. A Shiny Gastly. The boy was so ecstatic. His parents didn't need to get him a Shiny Gastly, but they felt bad that their son didn't get his favorite Pokemon when he was ten, so they made up for it by saving enough to buy him a special one. Reggie sent his sights in his home region, Unova, to settle on an adventure. He was five badges in, but decided that Sinnoh was more fun and that's where he went.

If you want me to have Reggie's Haunter be a Gastly, I can do that :3

Species: Shiny Haunter - [TYPE]Ghost[/TYPE][TYPE]Poison[/TYPE]
Nickname: Emeric
Ability: Levitate - Emeric is immune to damaging Ground-type moves (except Thousand Arrows but who really has seen/has a Zygarde?). It also is unaffected by the effects of Arena Trap, Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Sticky Web, Rototiller, and terrain (Electric, Misty, Psychic, and Grassy). Additionally, Emeric cannot remove Toxic Spikes upon switching in. These immunities are lost during Gravity or if Emeric is holding an Iron Ball, is under the effects of Ingrain, or has been hit by Smack Down or Thousand Arrows (again, who even has a Zygarde to utilize this?).
Current Moves:
  • Shadow Ball - [TYPE]Ghost[/TYPE] | Special | Taught by father's Polteageist | Emeric creates a ghostly ball of shadow energy before expelling it towards the target. It has a small chance to lower the elemental/ranged defenses of the opponent. It cannot damage those who have the Ability Bulletproof. Emeric can't do anything special with this move just yet except for letting it explode prematurely in the air to make a cool dark halo effect.
  • Dazzling Gleam - [TYPE]Fairy[/TYPE] | Special | Taught by mother's Mismagius | Emeric creates a dazzlingly bright light that can affect both foes in a double battle. The flash of light can be used as a non-attack, using it to cover Emeric's tracks as he moves somewhere else. He can also use this and expel it at his slowed Shadow Ball in the air or towards another object/Pokemon/attack, making it explode prematurely or upon impact to create a sparkling rainbow effect. He can also use it on himself to make himself look iridescent for a moment. It can't be reliably used to see in the dark for long periods of time, but it can be useful to see a flash of the surroundings.
  • Sludge Wave - [TYPE]Poison[/TYPE] | Special | Taught by a friend's Muk | Emeric creates a wave of nasty sludge that goes everywhere. Has a 10% chance to poison the targets, and this may hit allies.
  • Giga Drain - [TYPE]Grass[/TYPE] | Special | Taught by a friend's Lilligant | Emeric creates a green energy-stealing ball that goes into the opponent, deals damage, and takes half the damage dealt back to Emeric's body, where he eats it and heals.
Species: Munna - [TYPE]Psychic[/TYPE]
Nickname: Elvira
Ability: Telepathy - In-battle, this ability is used to contact her allies so they may avoid each other's area-of-effect (AoE) attacks. Outside of battle, this ability is used to allow Reggie a better understanding of Pokemon.
Current Moves:
  • Yawn - [TYPE]Normal[/TYPE] | Status | Self-Taught | Elvira yawns and causes the opponent to yawn and get drowsy, where they will fall asleep later. If they are switched out, they will lose their drowsiness.
  • Dream Eater - [TYPE]Psychic[/TYPE] | Special | Self-Taught | Elvira goes to the opponent and a purple-pink mist comes from their head as she eats it, replenishing her stamina and healing minor to moderate wounds sustained in combat. This cannot be used if Elvira is under the effects of Heal Block and the healing effects of this move can be reversed if the opponent has Liquid Ooze as an ability. If holding a Big Root, the healing effects get stronger. Happier dreams taste sweeter than nightmares, but she's grown accustomed to the bitter taste of nightmares, so it doesn't bother has badly as it does the rest of her species. She can only do this when someone is sleeping. She can also instill sweet, dreamless sleep if she eats Reggie's dreams, allowing her trainer to sleep peacefully and without any fits or sleepless nights. Of course, she can only use this when Elvira is awake herself, so Reggie tends to allow Elvira a long nap during the day. Due to Elvira's sleep schedule, Reggie tends to partake in battles during the afternoon or evenings.
  • Calm Mind - [TYPE]Psychic[/TYPE] | Status | Self-Taught | Elvira calms her mind and raises her elemental/ranged attack and defense (Special Attack and Special Defense) in doing so, allowing her to calm her spirit and focus so she may deal more damage and take more hits.
  • Shock Wave - [TYPE]Electric[/TYPE] | Special | Taught by a friend's Zebstrika | Elvira creates a difficult to dodge quick electrical shock wave from around her body, but travels a much further distance wherever she is pointing. It won't paralyze, but makes up for it in speed.
Species: Shedinja
Nickname: Bob (Genderless, but prefers male pronouns)
Ability: Wonder Guard - Immune to damaging moves that are not super-effective. Doesn't prevent confusion damage, recoil, status moves; indirect damage from status conditions, weather, recoil, entry hazards; Future Sight, and Beat Up. Role Play, Skill Swap, Power of Alchemy, Receiver, and Wandering Spirit fails, but you can use Entrainment to copy this ability onto the user. It can be bypassed by abilities that ignore abilities (like Mold Breaker) and moves that do the same (like moves that are only on the G-Max Galarian Starters and Legendaries XD)
Current Moves:
  • Shadow Sneak - [TYPE]Ghost[/TYPE] | Physical | Self-Taught | A priority move, Bob uses his shadow to quickly damage the target.
  • X-Scissor - [TYPE]Bug[/TYPE] | Physical | Taught by a friend's Leavanny | Bob uses his dried husky arms to slash at his opponent in a cross-scissor-like fashion.
  • Protect - [TYPE]Normal[/TYPE] | Status | Taught by a friend's Muk | Bob creates a protective green barrier that blocks all moves and damage from moves for that use. Does not stop weather or status condition damage, and it has a priority of +4. Each successive use decreases the chance of the move being successful on the next chance. If a Z-Move is used against him, Bob will faint.
  • Dig - [TYPE]Ground[/TYPE] | Physical | Self-Taught | Bob digs underneath the ground and either makes more holes to pop out of or directly damages the opponent by popping up from underneath them. Due to Wonder Guard, Bob can't be damaged by Magnitude or Earthquake or be hit by Fissure.

Eh, sorry, no.
A mercenary/bounty hunter for hire? That would go against a lot of their own protocols, it would create an unnecessary loose end, and it would make this random bounty hunter seem way too powerful compared to the team leaders.

Plus, the job you’re asking for is essentially the job of team leader #2.

This isn’t a known organization. It’s secretive, secluded, and underground.

Oh, not exactly a mercenary, he just does what they do, but on his own. Like they hired him to do this for whatever reason. He doesn't go out and catch them himself either unless they're easy to, he mostly stays inside and counts numbers and settles deals, he works underground too, but I getcha, no problem.

Just wanted to throw the idea out there just in case, I don't mind

Secretive organizations can't have any liabilities, which means people who work with them but aren't a part of the team are high risk people and they avoid work with them at all costs. A secretive organization can't trust anyone, even if they work in the same kind of business they are working in. If Charon and the leaders are paranoid enough from the thing Charon was busted for before (or any other scuffles with the police and baits), they wouldn't want anybody outside to work with the group instead of "in" the group.

Yeah, sorry. If you wanted to make a character specifically involved in the trade-ring or something, that’s fine. But doing field work/directly associating with the team?
That would require you to be a full, fledged subordinate.

The reason they have to be full-on subordinates is so that there is less of a chance of someone leaving the group to rat them out. They have easier control over them and can indoctrinate them into the group's efforts, slowly bringing them in like a cult so they may feel at home with the group and become a die-hard family member of the group.

Though, I wouldn't be surprised if the team members can't exactly full on trust each other in the group either just out of safety and to not have people get so close that they lose their objective thinking caps when someone does something "fishy".

I could probably make a person for the team. She's worked with Team Rocket and was a lesser admin on both times (original with Giovanni and later when Archer(?) tried to bring them back). She's done some awful things and she's running from the police, which is why she's in Sinnoh and finds "hey, a group I can potentially work with. I have heard of Team Galactic before, are they similar?"

EDIT: She won't do said awful things unless it's needed, but she has that in her resume to let everyone know she's not afraid to do some horrible things for the group she's a part of.

Since she really can't integrate back in society, I feel like she's a good candidate to be a subordinate. She understands that she has to restart on the bottom rung of the ladder, but she still has her old team she's had since she was a lesser admin in Team Rocket, so she's already pretty well trained and versed in battle, and her team is around 6th badge to 7th badge levels in terms of experience.

Would she be alright?

I’m a little touchy about her having connections with such a prominent set of individuals, but at the same time- both my main ocs have connections pre-existing characters. So that can be easily overlooked if the reasoning is there, which it is.
Her being a significant grunt sounds like a good idea. I just don’t know how I’d feel about her being an ex-admin. That feels a bit too prominent to me.

But that’s one id probably leave up to the opinions of others.

I do have another version of her where she was just a really well-trusted grunt. Still the same team and same competence. I did say lesser admin though. She's not as high as those like Ariana, Petrel, or Proton. I meant lesser admin as in she was a captain of a small group of people she was supposed to be in charge of. She did have other such clearances, but she wasn't that high to warrant being able to see highly classified things. She's not allowed to join the inner circle of meetings I presumed the actual admins and Giovanni would have.

I mean, if anyone wanted her to disappear, it would be pretty easy to do so, as well. Her family disowned her due to finding her a bossy temper tantrumy nuisance. XD

What did you mean by inside the trade ring? Just curious.

As in- if you don’t want him to join the team directly, where he would get the opportunity to go out hunt and Pokémon- you could make him a member of the trade ring.

Like I said, when the organization captures Pokémon, they send them off to a far away facility. This facility is a private, independent company that’s anonymously funded, under the cover of researching Pokémon cosmetics.

No one at the facility has any direct connection to the main team. They simply receive the Pokémon in unmarked containers, with a list of requirements and price listings. The employees receive a large payment in cash and are thoroughly monitored at all times.

I was suggesting you make a handler. One of the people at the facility who sells off freshly obtained Pokémon.

This way, you could indirectly work with the group, while they retain anonymity.

Ah. Idk if I’d even classify that as an Admin.
That’s gotta be like- some middle ranking. Team Leader, Admins, Squad/Team Captain (You), Grunts.

I’m totally fine with that. The term admin, even lesser admin- can sound scary. Lol

Reggie seems like a cool dude, I like him. Definitely accepted.

I may end up bringing a bug type specialist into team galactic. First I'd need to find his bio and adjust it accordingly...

That could work.

If you want, Reggie could probably take on Roark after the others? Roark meets the other characters before taking on the gym. Thoughts?

I'm assuming roark has a craniados and a geodude. Not sure if he has a third mon. Did he have an onix?

What if craniados evolved like in the anime, thoughts?

Roark's basic Gym battle has Geodude, Onix, and Cranidos.

Roark's rematch Gym battle has Aerodactyl, Probopass, Golem, Rampardos, and Tyranitar.

Roark's PWT teams are Rampardos, Sudowoodo, Probopass, Onix, Golem, and Relicanth (gym leaders) and Rampardos, Probopass, Archeops, Crustle, Golem, and Relicanth (Rock-Type Specialist).

I'm pretty sure if someone asked for a harder time, he can have a Graveler. XD

I've said it before and i'll say it again (with the risk of sounding like an annoying broken record), but any of your guys' characters can borrow either of Jake's two for at least this gym battle if you think they would lose otherwise or something, same goes for further gyms and other pokemon he gets

Granted, Sonny is a fire type but he knows Double Kick.

Again, sorry if i'm annoying for saying it again, i'll stop after this lol

Were we gonna go straight to the gym or explore Oreburgh a bit first, aka go to the mines?
Dolan's whole reason for going on an adventure is to explore. I plan to look around Jubilife City in the previous RP, and Oreburgh City. Though I won't spend too much time in these places. I like the idea of exploring cause... Sinnoh has a lot of cool stuff. Just look at Jubilie City. They have a school, a tv broadcasting station, a pokétech company. Though I think I'll just have Dolan visit the pokétecch company, get a pokétech watch, and briefly visit the broadcasting station... Maybe 1 or two posts per location. I won't spend too much time here.

What do you guys think Roark's team should be? Craniados, geodude, and onix, Rampardos, geodude, and onix? Maye Craniados evolves mid-match... I can't remember when craniados evolved in the anime... Been too long.

Roark's Cranidos in the anime evolved after beating Paul's Azumarill and Chimchar, lost against Paul's Elekid, technically won against Ash's Pikachu but got interrupted, and beat Team Rocket to evolve into Rampardos. And then the next episode had Ash rematching with Roark's Rampardos.

Then again, Cranidos evolves into Rampardos at level 30, while Geodude evolves into Graveler at level 25. Which is why I suggested keep the Cranidos a Cranidos and don't have any Rampardos at all. Plus, I wouldn't be surprised if he got a Nosepass, as well due to the Probopass he has on later teams. And an Aerodactyl.

A list of Pokemon he could use against beginner trainers would include the usual three he'd start out with. But if a beginning to intermediate trainer wants a challenge, he can add one or two Pokemon, or evolve one or two of his Pokemon.

Like, he'd usually have an Onix, Geodude, and Cranidos. He can also have a Nosepass, Aerodactyl, and a Larvitar. For evolution and stuff, we could have Cranidos evolve into Rampardos, but I wouldn't expect him to use it in a team of three, since Rampardos is RIDICULOUSLY STRONG (I mean... look at that Attack stat. I know stats and levels aren't a thing realistically, but they are a baseline XD). Maybe have a Graveler instead of a Geodude if you still want to keep a group of three Pokemon.

geodude, onix, and craniodos will likely give players plenty challenge. A graveler instead of geodude could work if you wanted an 'extra' challenge. Thoughts? I could go either way... I'm leaning towards them all being base evolution, but if majority wants geodude to be graveler, that could work too.

I'm suggesting it as a flexible team option. It's not a team he'll be wanting to use on just any challenger. It's been shown in Pokemon Origins with Red against Brock that the gym leader uses different kinds and number of Pokemon based on the challenger's badge count. If a character has more experienced Pokemon from a separate journey and they are being used in the battle, it is likely that Roark will use more than just the usual three beginner team.

It's also been shown that gym leaders usually have multiple of the same Pokemon in the same evolutionary line (like Brock having 6 Geodude for some reason). I wouldn't be surprised if Roark actually does have a Rampardos and a Golem, but has a Cranidos and Geodude for the beginner trainers to fight against.

Which is why I'm saying yall can choose to have Roark go easy or hard on you, and if you want easy, he'll use his standard video game team and, if you want more difficulty, he can use an alternate team. He's got multiple Pokemon for different occasions.

Mystic, how many pokmon are the subordinates allowed to have, if any? Slash how much of an eye do they keep on their pokemon?

And or, how hard would it be for someone who wants to be a subordinate to become one?

Asking because I might have an idea but I can see it not working and or fitting/making sense.
