After eating, the party took their dishes back up to the woman they met yesterday behind the counter.
"Good morning! Thanks for cleaning these dishes, ma'am." Wes said cheerfully.
"Your welcome, sonny. Such nice students here." she responded partly to herself. Wes waved his farewell while his Pokemon, all clinging to his neck, shoulder, or arms cried there own. Before leaving the mess hall, he checked the clock above the counter and read aloud,
"7:20, I should really get going if I want to find my way to Regional Studies." Growlithe barked, signaling for them to head out the doors. As the group picked their way across the mess hall, Wes took out his PDA to find a map of the campus. He swiped a few times to the right before finding what he was searching for and started to study.
"Okay, it looks like Academic Hall Room 1123 is this way," he pointed out the door, "let's go!" Wes continued out the door and into the bright, warm sunshine of the morning. He grinned at the sky and stood, basking in the sun for some moments before continuing once more. The party followed the map and the signs along the moving sidewalks to their destination. The wind ruffled his hair lightly as they sped along the campus, searching for the building. Finally, the large structure came into view and Wes exited the sidewalk, still bearing the Pokemon on his limbs.
"This is it, guys. The Academic Building-" his voice trailed off as he took in the gigantic structure created solely for the purpose of academics at BTU. As they began to trek up the stairs before the structure, Wes noticed the detailed architecture of the statue that depicted the Legendary Pokemon, Mew, and the inscriptions set ablaze above the arched entrance to the building. He read aloud the inscription to the Pokemon,
"Battle-Tech University, Perfecting Excellence. Sounds pretty important if I do say so myself. We should get going if we don't want to be late, though!" Growlithe barked once more and leaped from his shoulder to race up the stairs and Shieldon squirmed in his grip to follow the Puppy Pokemon. Wes set the Shield Pokemon down and it pursued it's partner up the steps while Dratini slithered onto Wes' head, upsetting his perfected hair.
"Watch the hair, Dratini,” he combed through it and continued, “I suppose that we should catch up!" he exclaimed with a laugh as he chased after the pair of Pokemon already halfway up the steps. He finally caught them and they raced to the entrance, only stopping just before to gather their breaths.
"Time to hop in your Pokeballs, guys. You won't like this Regional Studies class I have a feeling. I'll let you all out afterwards and we can hang out for a bit before the second class starts." Wes explained to the trio of creatures who all looked down in disappointment.
"Don't give me those looks. Let's go!" The young trainer said before pressing the button upon each capsule on his belt. With three flashes of crimson light, the creatures disappeared and Wes was once more alone. He sighed before entering the grand building that was the Academic Hall. A gasp escaped his lips as he looked at the vaulted ceilings, glass displays, and banners. Wes shook himself from the daze of amazement and trotted to Room 1123 with his PDA in hand.
He entered the lecture hall in silence and noticed a small group of people sitting in the bleacher seats. Wes also observed the stout teacher sitting at his desk, which caused him to fidget nervously with his glasses. With a deep inhale he walked to a seat that he picked out towards the bottom of the bleachers.
"Here we go, Wes. Time to show your stuff." he whispered quietly to himself before taking a seat and checking the time. Sure is getting late, and barely anyone is here. Probably still all worn out from orientation and the entrance exam. he thought to himself. Wes placed his feet on the bleacher in front of him and lounged with his hands behind his head. He closed his eyes and began to mentally prepare himself for the day. As if understanding his nerves, the Pokeballs upon his belt quaked with their own personalities. A light quiver from Dratini, a few hearty shakes from Growlithe, and a slow, meaningful quake from Shieldon.
Wes noticed the arriving of Jezebel and Lexie upon opening his eyes and moved down a few bleachers to join them. In the quiet lecture hall, the sound made quite a clamor and Wes looked around dubiously to see if anyone had noticed.
"Good morning, you two. I thought you'd never show up!" he said with a smile as he got himself comfortable on the seats next to the pair.
