Ooh this is cool! May I join?
I just realized that some of her spells have similar effects to Helen’s… whoops.Name: Mavis Feng
Age: 21
Region: Rhapsodia (though she also uses techniques from Harmonium, since that’s where her mother is from and where she lived for most of her formative years)
Appearance: Mavis has dark purple, almost black hair. When untied, it reaches the middle of her back. She has dark gray eyes. She wears a muted collared blouse and a plaid skirt, as well as a face mask that she takes off when she sings.
Personality: Mavis sometimes struggles to communicate her thoughts with others in a polite way, making her seem like a bit of a shrinking violet to strangers. However, she enjoys watching and analyzing how people use their magic, and her overenthusiasm in this regard is perhaps what leads her to be considered offbeat. She has an impeccable ability to read the social atmosphere, though her ability to communicate (or lack thereof) somewhat dampens that skill.
Backstory: Both her mother and father were skilled performers at their own craft (her father as a street performer with little formal training yet heaps of raw talent, and her mother as a trained professional who took to training others as well). She spent most of her childhood in Harmonium with her mother after her parents parted ways, but she grew up as a bit of an outsider there due to taking after her father’s more relaxed ideas of etiquette and culture. Though she was never bullied or derided for her preference towards Rhapsodia’s music, she was often regarded as a strange individual. She had a talent for singing just like her parents, but this worsened her self-esteem due to the high expectations piled upon her. She applied for a Harmony Institute instead of a Musical Academy to escape those expectations. Though her skill with magic was middling at first, it was liberating for her to not have to meet a bar that felt impossibly high. She worked hard and graduated with high marks, wherein she was recruited as a singer for a group in Rhapsodia, which quickly became rather popular. She joined the Melodic Vanguard in order to expand her worldview and be exposed to more emotions, which can drastically increase the effectiveness of her singing and her magic.
Music Style: J-pop (Vocaloid is also on the table here, but none of these songs are Vocaloid songs)
Examples: What Sort of Ending Are You Wishing For?, Gira Gira, Blessing
Weapons: She’s best with instruments that have keyboards, but they’re too unwieldy for her to carry more than one of. Instead, she prefers to sing and simply use a microphone, and she has one keyboard for backup.
Magic & Techniques: Mavis’ abilities are mainly centered around her ability to express emotions, which has been stunted due to her time in Harmonium.
Mimic: Mavis has perfect pitch, allowing her to mimic the abilities of others (including her enemies), though the mimic ability is usually less effective due to not using the same instrument.
Mastery of Lyrics: When she sings a song, the way she expresses the lyrics can cause different buffs to activate on her and her allies. She has an offensive variant that allows her to project emotions into enemies’ minds, debuffing them.
Commander of Song: Depending on the song she sings, the offensive capability will vary, but she can summon objects or beings associated with the song (that she can visualize) and control them for a short period of time. Her stamina drains much faster when using this ability.
Is there anything that doesn’t make sense to you?
Posts should be at least a paragraph long. With the exception of interaction scenes where one character replies to another's question and quick progression is required, one line posts are extremely dull and annoying. God, so to speak, is in the details - and adding description (of the scene, your characters, or the interaction between them) goes a long way to breathe life into an otherwise bland scene. However, do not overdo it - when the bigger picture is lost in unnecessary over-detailing, the point of a post may be lost.
The elevators, being from Technosymphonia's own design, took him to where he needed to be in minutes. Floor 50, Vanguard Floor. This was where the interview would take place. The physical would take place elsewhere, on a different day. He had done his research. He wanted to be a member of The Vanguard, someone who would fight to protect others. Not for the fame, something that was in the back of his mind. All he could do was wait.
Jeez... all that for one session is madness!
My plan for an assignment is to go to Technosymphonia to check the rumours on what Poe said. This turns out to be true, but we destroy most of the important military-grade stuff, and attain some interesting documents including important information, which I'll leave to you @RhythmThief
Is that ok?
