Seeing Kay take up a defensive position before relaxing, Q did the same by mimicking in a joking manner before going back to his relaxed, carefree stance.
"Gallade. Gallade. <Yeah. You look tough. But I'm pretty sure I haven't fought you, or I would have remembered.>" Q said, his grin not leaving his face. Q looked over to see the Duskinor preparing some sort of attack before the trainer warded him off. Even then his grin didn't leave him, and he just nodded cockily to said Duskinor. But now a third human and Pokemon arrived, a large, muscular looking human alongside another Duskinor. Watching the pair for a moment, Q turned his attention back to the other Gallade.
"Lade. Gallade. <Sorry. Just sizing up the competition.>" The Gallade let out something akin to a sigh before leaning back and putting his hands behind his head, using his Psychic powers to keep him up. "Gallade Gallade. <This would be the part where I would challenge you to a sparring match, but the boss said to wait 'til we get to land.>"

Robin was relaxing in a desk chair, Rea his Absol resting on his chest, when he saw a familiar sight. There, walking on the deck not to far away, was that sleepy girl with the dark green hair that he had woken up back on the dock. Robin shifted slightly, careful not to wake his Absol, before waving a hand to Akabane.
"Hello there! Looks like you're up and moving!" Robin called over to Akabane.

<Celeste and Ceres>
"Yea, exactly those, so right now among the Spire Masters, we got Ajax as the Doubles Battle specialist and Ceres as the Full Battle <6 on 6> specialist. That's all we have in terms of specialists." Celeste explained, "For the ones that don't have a specialization we can just carry on doing with what we have been doing, which is basically doing any type of battle we want so long as the challenger accepts the terms. I guess that's sort of a down side to specialize, you basically have to battle in your specialized type of battling against all challengers. To my understanding at least." Celeste watched Doom with a slight smile, she began to wonder how Kayo and Doom would interact, but ultimately decided against it. Kayo would most likely end up seeking help from Sylvia or hiding by Celeste trying to avoid the Dark Pokémon.

"That sounds about right." Ceres confirmed. "Oh, and hello there. I don't believe we've met before, I'm Ceres Aeons." she held out her had after Luna had settled down into his seat.

"Just passing time with idle chitchat, relaxing before things get crazy tomorrow and onward. How have you been Luna?" Celeste leaned back in her chair.

Sylvia stared blankly at Chu for a few seconds occasionally blinking, <Oh, right... I mean she does have a rhythm... sort of, but it's not good, and its only an offensive rhythm. Kari has a very rudimentary and limited grasp of Battle Momentum and Rhythms. I'm, not sure if Shade knows about this and taught it to you guys yet, but I'm referring to the battle momentum and rhythm of a match. For example, if a Pokémon is on the offensive then they will naturally dictate the offensive rhythm of the battle, and you'll have to go with it or eat a very strong attack in the Spire Masters case often times its enough to win the match, but if you bide your time and manage to find your own defensive momentum and when your defensive momentum overpowers their offensive momentum, that's when you can effectively counter attack and steal back the offensive momentum then you can dictate the offensive rhythm and it will give you a change to land a powerful attack to damage your opponent. It's like a dance you have to keep up with, it's mentally very stressful for the trainer and on us as well to constantly keep this balance and dance in a way.> Sylvia wrapped her ribbons around Celeste's wrist again since she was done eating.

<Battle momentum and battle rhythm is probably something out of your understanding right now. It's a newer concept that Celeste has pushed out into the Pokémon Behaviorists field of study, it took her nearly a decade to find the proper way to transcribe it into words. Obviously there is much more that I won't go into details about, but the paper is published in the Pokémon Scientific Research Journals if you want Shade to read up on it to get a good better concept of it!>
Sylvia smiled and continued. <Once Shade starts challenging Spire Masters more and more, she will naturally start to see it sooner or later, she's super smart so she should catch onto it in no time. The hard part comes to mastering it properly, which can take several years of battling other trainers and training specifically for this. Sparring in the team, against your trainer, or against wild Pokémon sadly does not work, as this type of training can only be provided by trainer vs trainer battles. But trust me, once you learn it and and stack your own strategies on top of it, battling against a trainer who doesn't know is laughably easy... kinda like watching a newly hatched Pokémon trying to attack. It's the reason why some challengers of League Champions get utterly crushed while others stand a better chance, subconsciously all trainers pick it up bit by bit in varying degrees, they're just not aware of it, Champions and Spire Masters are just people who have mastered it.> Sylvia concluded as they were joined by Helbram. Sylvia waved at him with a spare ribbon before wrapping it back around her. She felt her eyes get heavier and yawned. She leaned against Celeste's leg for comfort.

Sorry about the huge info. dump, but I figured I might as well give an explanation as to what makes the League Champions and Spire Masters battle at a league of their own. In my head cannon, the League Champions are capable of battling very very nearly on the Spire Master level, the difference is when challenged by trainers in the Pokémon League, their job is to test the challenger and decide to let them win or not judging their determination, their bond with their Pokémon, them as a character, etc. to see if they are truly worthy as a trainer, rather than to beat their team to a pulp.

The Spire Masters however, don't really have that job, so trainers who challenge the Spire Masters are facing the full raw power and ability from them. And also, the League Champions know who the Spire Masters are, so when they encounter them in a League Battle outside of the Battle Spire, they won't be holding anything back either, battling on pretty much even grounds.

The League Champions are also members/gusts at the Battle Spire and hold special guest positions, but they rarely participate in battles on the island. Instead they prefer to spectate and watch the trainers to see potential challengers or to see how far a trainer that has defeated them has gone on their journey. Sometimes they act as sources of advice and feedback.

It's just my own head cannon that I'm using for this RP, if there is further questions about it, ask them in the discussion and I'll do my best to answer them there.

Shade just chuckled as Luna walked back to his table after saying something about "avoiding" Doom. Really? It's not like he's irritable or anything. She then looked to Celeste as she explained what the battle styles were and she nodded. "Well, I'm more of a group battler myself, but I don't have a specialization. I do prefer single 6v6 as well as triples 6v6."

Meanwhile, Doom was pretty happy that some Pokemon were talking with him this time, as the rebuttal from Whisper earlier left a sour taste in his mouth. He would rather talk about anything at this point, so he nodded. <What's your trainer like?> He asked, cocking his head in curiosity.

Back to the table, Chu looked over to see a Gallade had walked over and asked if she wanted a battle. Stiff stance? Huh, she's usually pretty relaxed, but she did want a good tussle after a meal. She looked to her trainer and responded back to the Gallade. <I would, but not here. If you want to have a good tussle, we can do this after our trainers are done socializing, okay?> she offered, smiling. Her focus then went to Sylvia as she explained battle rhythm and Chu finally understood what she meant. It had nothing to do with music, it had something to do with overwhelming the opponent. Most of her comrades, including herself, are the aggressors in a match, so she just kind of half smirked. <Well, most of my team, including myself, are the main aggressors. We get brutal, fighting through the pain that fuels us to become incredibly savage and brutal in battle. If she goes up against me, she'll quickly realize that her battle rhythm will not save her, since my rhythm is chaotic and changes frequently.>

<Celeste and Ceres>
"Well, we're by no means required to have a specialization, it's just something for the challengers who prefer a specific way of battling to have a clear goal to reach, and for them to know who else shares in their interests." Celeste reached down and gently patted Sylvia's head, "Are you getting sleepy?" She asked Sylvia.

Sylvia looked up and yawned. "Sylv!" She chirped, clearly trying not to look as tired as she actually was.

"Just a bit longer then we can head back to our room okay?" Celeste took out a case from her bag, and opened it. Inside was 12 perfectly hand made deluxe Poké Puffs 2 of each flavor, and a couple of miscellaneous ones. Celeste took out a richly adorned pink puff and handed it to Sylvia.

Sylvia eagerly accepted, carefully taking it from Celeste with her ribbons and taking a modest bite out of it. The sweet taste sent shivers down her spine and caused her to involuntarily wiggle from the sensation. The pink ones had always been her favorite ever since she was an Eevee many, many years ago. Celeste had been making Poké Puffs for as long as she could remember, before she even started her journey, now, she's a connoisseur of them and a master baker of Poké Puffs. <I have no doubts that your team can beat Kari's she's still quite inexperienced compared to everyone else here.> Sylvia said in between bites of her desert. She wanted to clear things up with Chu that being the aggressor or being brutal doesn't really have that much to do with the battle momentum or rhythm she was talking about but she assumed it was her own fault that Chu, and now Helbram was somewhat misinterpreting Battle Momentum and Rhythm, that was because she wasn't the best at explaining it. Lucas would have done a better job at it but, he wanted to meditate inside his ball tonight and was not in a playful mood due to the match tomorrow and the potential that he could be chosen. <Oh, how rude of me, would you like some?> Sylvia broke a piece off the puff and offered it to Chu. <If you don't like pink I'm sure Celeste has a flavor you would like, She loves sharing them with other Pokémon.>

Luna grabbed Ceres’s hand and shamed it with content, "Hi, I’m Luna Soxter!" "I’ve been pretty good lately, especially because of the tension of the participants. Can you imagine? All those people that receive a letter for something they’ve done, accomplishments, all come to one place to battle! Even if I experience this every year now, it still feels like the first time I’ve been to the Battle Spire!" Luna was basically on a rant right now, and he realized this and had to stop before he spills a whole encyclopedia of his words out.

"So how have y’all been doing on the Spire?"

Meanwhile, the 3 Pokémon, Doom, Toty, and Moon were talking about their trainers. Oh Luna? He can get a little childish at times, and his appearance sometimes makes things get awkward, especially when his hair is down, but despite all that, he is probably one of the best trainers I’ve seen so far, after all, he is a Battle Master. Moon was nodding to each of Toty’s words and added, Luna also has some interesting family members and friends. I heard that one of his friends were invited to the Battle Spire!

Back to Chu and Helbram, he understood why they couldn’t fight here, after all, it is a high-class restaurant, and he definitely wouldn’t want it’s reputation to drop to the abyss because a fight happened. Helbram sat quietly next to Chu, careful not to touch any electrical parts, and overheard them talking about battle rhythms. Oh, Luna has strategies for each and every one of us. He changes it every so often, just in time before someone can figure out his rhythms. Though there is always the same thing with him and us. Unlike other trainers who would call out moves, or Pokémon that immediately understand their trainers the moment they looked at them, Luna used sign language. This was a weird thing to choose, as none of his friends, family, Pokémon are deaf. While he was learning, we learned with him at a young age were able to communicate with him in that way.

Akabane
~~~~~
Akabane saw the blue-haired man waving at her and quickly ran to him, slowing down when she saw the sleeping Absol. "Hey! Aren’t you the one that woke me up earlier? Well thank you, again." Akabane realized she was spitting out words and slowed down. "I forgot to get your name earlier because I was in a panic," Sapphire was staring at the asleep Absol with an intense look, "but I would like to know your name." Akabane gave the man a smile
Bruce saw Sapphire’s eyes staring at a particular something and checked out what it was. Sapphire was staring at an Absol, who seemed quite powerful.
You’re not planning to ask for a fight are you? We might fight him again in the Spire, and I would like a surprise instead of knowing the outcome of our battle. the Scrafty said with an intense look. I know, I know Bruce, but it’d be nice to fight someone that’s as strong as a champion, maybe stronger than a champion, and see how many other people are like you, y’know? the Sceptile stared at the Scrafty’s eyes. Bruce hesitated before giving Sapphire a signal to do whatever he wanted to. Just let the Absol sleep until it’s awake.
Kay delivered a semiformal bow to the other Gallade, marginally annoyed at Q's seemingly carefree nature. "<I await your challenge eagerly. I am known as Kay, by the way.>"
---
Edward turned about once more as someone else came over to talk. This new fellow was intimidating to say the least. He was at least six feet tall, with impressively large muscles. Trailing behind this giant was... oh no. Ed almost missed the man's question, but caught the general gist of it. "I don't mind, but..." He looked at Morgan, who was currently cackling in some new glee. "You know what? Sure. My name is Ed, and this is Morgan."
“Very well. My name is Lucane, and my Dusknoir is names Vodric. Excuse me for my awkward way of speaking, getting along and talking with others is more of my sisters thing.” He said, holding out his massive hand for a hand shake. “Don’t worry, I’ll take it easy on the grip. Wouldn’t want to crush your hand.” Vodric then looked at the other Dusknoir that the trainer had called Morgan. She seemed to be laughing, but he couldn’t tell she was laughing about. Speaking of, Vodric felt it was rather a rare delight that he’d got to meet another female Ghost Pokémon. The male Dusknoir floated closer, but not close enough to invade personal space. “Hello, Morgan. I am Vodric. Sorry if I’m bothering you, I just find it a bit uncommon to see another Dusknoir. Especially one that’s female.” He said to her, also in an awkward fashion. He was not necessarily an introverted Pokémon, but he did not talk to folks other than Stiener and the rest of Lucane’s team. Both Xandra and Stiener watched from afar, Xandra with a smirk on her face and the Alakazam with a happy smile.
Robin grinned at the young woman, running a hand through the Absol's soft, white fur as the woman approached. He slowly adjusted his seat, letting him sit up without disturbing Rea's nap.
"Hey, it's no problem. I would be panicked too if I was in your position." Robin said to the girl. He extended a free hand to her to shake, leaving his other hand resting on Rea. "I'm Robin. Backpacker, Move Tutor, Move Remember guy, Move Delete guy, if it's got something to do with Pokemon techniques, you've come to the right guy. Lying on my stomach here is Rea. That Plusle sleeping on the chair next to mine is Cherry. Right there is Big Turk, or Turk. Up there is Sam, my Farfetch'd. And my Gallade, Q, is probably around here somewhere."
The large Blastoise that was watching the ocean perked up when his name was mentioned, and merely grunted and nodded in the direction of Akanane and her Pokemon. Above, Robin's Farfetch'd watched the Sceptile and Scrafty with narrowed eye. He watched the Pokemon pair carefully, wing on his sword and ready to step in at any time.
"So tell me. Who are you?" Robin asked the green-haired girl.
(O.O.C - Please let me know if this works within canon, I haven't gotten a chance to read through the entire RP.)
So this is it.
Talia finally boarded the ship, looking rather flustered. Allie had thought it was a good idea to spontaneously challenge her to a Pokemon battle - Talia had won rather easily, but it had caused her to be later than she would have liked.
She took a breath in. Breathe, Talia. Just... make a good impression. Don't make a scene.
Mentally, she laughed at herself - she was a performer and she still had social troubles. Who would have guessed?
She decided to keep to herself for a while, scoping out the other trainers. Some she vaguely recognized, some she didn't. Her brown hair twirled in the light breeze, and her brown eyes glinted in the sunlight.
Having finally caught up to Liepard (It was harassing a group of Pelipper), Max quickly returned the crafty cat back to its Pokeball. The skyboat looked incredibly expensive and Max couldn't possibly afford any repairs for it. Instead, he sent out a Pokemon who was a bit less likely to blow a hole in the ship.
"Flygon, why don't you come out and stretch your wings for a bit?"
The swift ground type materialized in the air and did a graceful figure eight, obviously enjoying the breeze. Max saw a crowd of people boarding the ship and motioned for Flygon to follow.
"I don't know if you saw, but the trainers here are the real deal. Apparently everyone here has been in the hall of fame"
Upon boarding the ship, Max looked around, quite impressed by how fancy it was. One room, in particular, caught his eye:
"Devon Battle Simulator Mark 10? That's the model that just released last month! It has a virtual battle mode alongside a trainer battle mode with both single and multi battle options. How about we give it a spin?"
Flygon didn't really understand everything Max just said, but it could feel it's trainer's excitement. Normally, Max would be disgusted at the prospect of having to do anything that required him to actually try, but somehow, Flygon could tell that today was a bit different. Flygon gave Max an eager look and nodded its head excitedly.
Max scanned his League Card into the machine and the door whirred to life, opening to reveal a majestic battle stadium, complete with bleachers and neon lights. He looked at the battle options for a while and decided on "Single Battle: Virtual Trainer: 1 Pokemon"
A hologram appeared on the other side of the stadium, taking the form of a hiker. The virtual trainer spoke in a robotic voice:
"Battle Simulation begin! Opponent: Garchomp, Master Level"
Max thought:
Master Level? I don't remember selecting that option...
Flygon soared over to the field and awaited its opponent. The virtual trainer drew a Pokeball and released it, sending out a fearsome-looking Garchomp, which certainly didn't look like a hologram.
Lorenne was enjoying a peaceful walk across the deck. She admired the view of the sparkling ocean from atop the ship, and enjoyed the pleasant breeze that was blowing as well.
Although she wasn’t heading anywhere in particular, Lorenne’s feet seemed to take her towards the Battle Simulator. Seeing as the rest of the ship was so luxurious, she thought the simulator ought to be the same. It would be a shame to miss the opportunity to use such a high tech facility; She didn’t know when she might get another chance like this.
Lorenne motioned for her Pokémon to follow her, and pushed open the door of an empty simulator room. The area immediately lit up with neon lights, and a quiet whirring sound could be heard from inside the walls. Ace, Bristol, Tempest and Polka all chose to sit out for now, and returned to their Pokeballs one by one. Lorenne instead called out a Pokémon she had chosen to keep inside its ball up until now. She usually opted to keep her Eelektross away to avoid any accidental power outages. Surge himself wasn’t much of a troublemaker, but he had a habit of chewing wires and poking outlets out of boredom. The electric Pokémon appeared in a flash of light on the simulator battlefield, and let out its unique warble of a cry.
The simulator wasted no time in loading the opponent Pokémon. It was a Mamoswine, and a pretty tough looking one at that. It was almost impossible to distinguish the hologram from a real Pokémon. Lorenne was intrigued already.
“Ready, Surge?” Her Pokémon replied by releasing a shower of sparks from its fins, charging up its body for the match. The voice of the simulator began a countdown for the battle in a robotic, monotone voice.
“Three. Two. One.”
<Kari>
Kari smiled as Shadow leapt off of Flux to rejoin her, intrigued by the Frosmoth. "Well, I come from Mossdeep City back in Hoenn. My first Pokémon is a Bagon, his name is Sal, he's over there." Kari pointed to the Salamence by the railing of the ship, Kari could tell he was itching to fly and show the local birds who's boss, she leans down and picks up Shadow so she could have a better look at the Frosmoth. "I'm a Hall of Famer in Hoenn, and one of the higher level competitors at the Battle Resort. And I usually don't tell people this, but since we're headed to the Battle Spire anyways, Celeste Masters is my older cousin, if you know who she is." Kari released Shadow, her weight was getting too much and she was wiggling trying to get free, she had enough and rejoined the rest of Kari's Pokémon.
DING!
"Attention passengers! All registered participants have been accounted for and checked in. The Argonautica will now be departing for Veritas Island. We will be arriving at our destination in approximately three hours. The Argonautica will be gaining substantial speed during the voyage, trainers participating in battles and who are up and moving use caution as turbalance from the ocean will expected. Ors d'oeuvres and drinks will be served once we are airborne. There will be no meals for the duration of this voyage. Restaurants and various food vendors will be available once we reach our destination. Once again, Trainers please exercise extreme caution when moving about the ship. Thank you!"
With the conclusion of the announcement the sounds of various powerful engines roared to life as the Argonautica jolted forward and began to head out of the port. The sounds of the engines revving up never seemed to stop as the ship began to pick up speed, slicing through the water at an incredible speed once it cleared the seaport gates. The ship stayed in the center of two lines of brightly lit red markers in the water that seemed to extend far into the distance.
"Whoa..." Kari steadied herself as the ship moved, as veteran surfer and a frequent ship passenger gaining her sea legs was easy especially on such a massive ship. The deck was rather windy now, but it wasn't unpleasant. Several trainers went back into the ship to take a seat or simply to explore. Flux, Dozer (now woken up by the ship moving), Umbra, and Lyra approached Kari. "I got you guys don't worry." Kari chuckled, these four Pokémon of her's had never really been a fan of being on moving boats. Kari promptly returned them back into their Pokéballs. "Won't be long now!" Kari went over to the edge of the ship standing next to Sal to watch as the ship continued accelerating. The red markers in the water were now almost like a line. "Come check this out Hyōga, we're gonna fly soon!" she signaled for the boy to join her.
With a strong upward jolt and an immense upward force that forced Kari to slightly band her knees, the Argonautica was slowly lifting off and out of the water, a huge amount of mist being shot out from either sides of the ship as a high pitched hissing sound became audible. It was the six massive turbines and the powerful jet engines in the center of each one on the underside that was pushing the ship up and forward. The Argonautica flew higher and higher as the land and water below them began to lose detail and eventually the land masses of Johto and Kanto were just shapes that were fading in the distance behind them.
Many trainers and their Pokémon were gathered around the windows looking out as the ship took flight, many of them with a look of pure awe and amazement. Several more had came back out onto the deck, now wearing jackets and warmer clothing. Kari was just simply laughing with a massive grin across her face, this was something that she never though she would ever experience. "This is the coolest thing I've ever seen!" she shouted. Sal roared in agreement and flapped his wings a few times before settling down again. Kari had not noticed before but there was now a tall and angled transparent barrier around the perimeter of the entire ship blocked most of the wind directing it up and over, and also preventing people for accidentally falling overboard.
DING!
"Attention passengers! We have reached our cruising altitude, we will be arriving at out destination in approximately two and a half hours. Please enjoy the ride and please do not have any Pokémon take flight when out on the deck. Thank you!"
Basically imagine the huge turbines from the Helicarriers of S.H.I.E.L.D from Captian American The Winter Soldier, that's whats on the underside of the ship here.
The ship is flying high, but not high enough that people can't be out and about on the deck, its pretty loud, windy and cold out on the deck due to the wind, but not loud enough that will cause hearing loss.
Hyōga smiled as the ship left port, seemingly unphased by the sudden lurch of the ship’s departure, before wandering over to Kari’s new position as if nothing had happened. His own sea legs were well established being an Ice type user the frigid seas of northern Sinnoh were a frequent training locale.
“Celeste? Oh wow. That’s cool but I guess it would also be a hell of a lot of pressure. Showing up on her home turf to try and make a name for yourself...” he trailed off after glimpsing over the edge and noticing the colossal engine below “they really weren’t kidding when they said the ship was fast. I’d been told it practically flew to Veritas, though I didn’t think They meant it literally” he laughed bracing himself for the ship’s aerial climb, hands gripping the railing in front of his as his hair and cape fluttered wildly in the open air.
Shade nodded before being absorbed in the ginger petals and sushi rolls. It seemed that being awake for 36 hours had taken a toll on her stomach and mind and she was really hungry and a little dizzy. Another plate of sushi was ordered by a finger from the scientist and the waiter quickly grabbed another plate, already made, and replaced her empty one with new one. It seemed that they know about her binge eating habits when she stays up for too long, especially when she forgets to eat. When Luna asked about their time here at the Spire, Shade just kind of shrugged. "Eh, it's going good. I miss my other Pokemon and family and coworkers by being up here, but I get a quiet place to work and my Pokemon get taken care of, so I can't exactly complain. I'm just more absorbed in my work to really contemplate on whether or not my time here is good or not. I guess you could say it's all good. Of course, I'd feel much better once the participants arrive."
Chu watched as Sylvia ate a puff and she was kind of eyeing it until Sylvia began speaking. It seemed that she must have thought that Chu misunderstood what battle rhythm was, especially after hearing Helbram. Chu nodded as Helbram spoke and spoke to him about their course of action. <Yea, well we just kind of do what we want.> Now confused as to whether or not she did understand Sylvia, she was about to ask until Sylvia offered a piece to her. Smiling ecstatically, her eyes lit up and her cheeks sparked with excitement as she took the proffered puff and quickly threw it in her mouth and let the tasty sweetness overtake her. It seemed to have melted her mind just as easily as the piece melted in her mouth. Her face said it all: complete satisfaction within the half-lidded eyes of comfort and an adorable smile. It almost seemed as if the talk of being brutal was all a sham with how she acted - cute, almost naive, and just a big fluffy, snuggly ball of electrical mouse. She also squeaked loudly in content while she held her tail tightly this time, as if it were a pillow.
Meanwhile, Doom was talking to the large, menacing Pokemon of Luna's and cocked his head in curiosity. <That sounds like my trainer, too. My trainer has some very interesting family members and is a Battle Master. I regard her as one of the best. Maybe we should have a battle sometime down the road and see who is the best. Oh! And Shade is like a sour patch kid. She's sour in a battle by allowing us to act feral, but after the battle she's sweet and offers to help heal and take care of the other's Pokemon. She is surely something,> Doom looked back at his trainer fondly before going back to Toty and Moon. <By the way, what do you mean it gets awkward? Do people think he's a girl or something?>
{Morgan}
"Hee Hee Hee! Hello, Vodric! It's been a while since I've met another of our kind." The Dusknoir grinned even wider. "I'm curious - what are you like? I have my various curses and hexes, but what are your hobbies?" She noticed that Vodric appeared a little awkward and chuckled internally. This was fun.
{Edward}
"It's good to meet you, Lucane. It's also good that our Dusknoir are... getting along?" He wasn't entirely sure, but Morgan didn't appear to be leveling some sort of curse towards the other, so that was good. He grabbed the railing as the boat started to lift off, recovering his balance. "Where are you from, anyway? People from all over got the invite." Ed noticed that Carrie was beginning to look a little uncomfortable in the air, and recalled her.
Luna
~~~~
Moon and Toty heard Doom’s personal question about Luna, but they both knew that Luna is open to talking about it. Yeah, especially with his hair down, it’s down to shoulder level. He goes into Unisex restrooms sometimes, but he mostly uses the male restrooms. It gets especially weird when he gets hit on by males that don’t know his gender. Moon and Toty were chuckling at this thought and Luna looked over. "Must be something pretty funny if there chuckling like that," Luna thought to himself.

"Yeah it’s ok here, I really do miss my friends and family at home too. Though the participants will enlighten my mood quite a lot.

Helbram saw Sylvia offer a piece of puff to Chu. His stomach curled up to the thought of sweets, something he just didn’t like.I’ll be right back, gotta go somewhere. He walked into the bathrooms and threw up into one of the toilets. Much better. he thought to himself.
~~~
Akabane
~~~
Akabane gladly took Robin’s hand and shook it intensely. "Pokémon techniques huh? That’s neat. Though I do hear some make you pay a lot to do that kind of stuff." Akabane took a liking to Cherry, who had a bubbly personality just like her friend. "Hey! Hearts! Come over here," Akabane called out to her Pokémon.

While Bruce was walking back to Akabane, he saw the Fartfech’d’s glance at him and Sapphire, and had his Thunder Punch ready to strike. Sapphire saw the bird’s glance too as he was turning around, walking to Bruce. His Leaf Storm was just about to set and become ready to attack when he heard Akabane’s call to him and his comrades. He let his guard down for a second to get to Akabane and stood next to her.

"This is Sapphire, my Sceptile, that Scrafty is Bruce. My Rotom, Hexer, is right above me," Hexer gave a tiny zap, "Merry is my Skarmory, the Porygon-Z in my hands is Cheren, and my Banette, Shedletsky, should be lurking around somewhere." Shedletsky came floating over and gave a pat. "Anyways, I’m Akabane Yuwa, you may know me, you may not know me. You probably know me better by my title, Mad Hatter, or by Luna Soxter, one of the battlemasters. I am a psychologist for both Pokémon and people, and know exactly how to comfort almost all Pokémon." Akabane gave a grin to Robin.

<Celeste and Ceres>
Sylvia smiled with delight at Chu's reaction and she tugged at Celeste's wrist slightly. Celeste glanced at the two Pokémon and saw Chu reaction to the bit of the puff, she smiled and opened her Poké Puff case again and offered it to Chu. "Here, pick whichever one you like." Sylvia nodded eagerly in encouragement.

"Well, if you'd all excuse me, I need to take my leave now, It's getting late, and I would like to be rested for tomorrow's festivities." Ceres stood up from her chair. Whisper seemed to snap out of out whatever she was thinking about the moment Ceres stood up and rejoined her at her side. "It was nice meeting you all again, and good luck on your future battles. " Ceres shifted around and left, she stopped by the front counter and they handed her a large paper bag, it was food for the rest of her Pokémon. She waved at the remaining trainers one last time as she left the restaurant.

<Kari>
"Her stomping ground?" Kari laughed, "She maybe one of the top Spire Masters, but the other Spire Masters are just as good at keep her in check. So she's gotta share!" Kari returned Sal after hearing the announcement about not allowing Pokémon to fly, he looked at her with a knowing look. Just in case the wind somehow caught Sal and swept him off the boat or even worse cash into the glass dome behind them. "We'll fly around the island once we get there I promise." she said to his Pokéball as she replaced it into her bag. "So what about you?! What's your story and what is it that sets Hyōga apart from everyone else?"

@Frontier Master
@Merciless Medic

Hyōga laughed at the mirrored question, lifting his ID card for Kari to see
“Well I guess the main thing would be this” he said pointing to the four embossed snowflakes “I’m a recognized Ice Type Master, I want to be the first type specialist Battle Master in history. Maybe one day even make it as a Spire master, specializing in Type mastery. I just returned from a voyage to Galar to train with Melody and gather a few new battlers” he smiled gesturing toward the pokeball within which his frosmoth had returned to when the winds became too intense

Robin merely shrugged as he dropped the handshake.
"Well, a man's got to make a living somehow. And plus, I like to think I charge a fair price." Robin said to the green haired woman. He nodded in greeting to each Pokemon as Akabane introduced her team. To be expected, they all looked quite tough. Next to Robin, Cherry let out a cute yawn as the talking woke up from her nap. She looked around at Akabane and her team, recognizing them from before. The Plusle gave the group an innocent smile as she waved hello.
"Plu, plu! <Hello!>" Cherry said cheerfully.

"I regret to say that, uh... all of those names are unfamiliar to me. I don't really know anything about the Battle Spire. At all. I only heard about it relatively recently. But that is a rather unusual name, the Mad Hatter." Robin said. The blue haired trainer looked over Akabane's team before continuing with a grin. "Unless you dress your team up in funky hats when you battle, I'm going to guess that your nickname has more to do with you than your team. But hey! A psychologist, huh? That's pretty impressive, since you look pretty young. No offense."

From his perch on a higher point on the ship, Sam tensed up and gripped his sword. He had only been at the ready because of the way that the Sceptile and Scrafty had been looking at Rea. But now it looked like they were ready to attack him! The Farfetch'd steadied it's breathing, watching his possible opponents carefully and waiting for them to make a move. But to the Farfetch'd's relief, the woman that was their trainer called them over to her. Sam relaxed as the Sceptile and Scrafty turned their attention away. That was good. The Farfetch'd was confident he would have been able to put up a good fight (having type advantage on both of them), but still. The prospect of two on one wasn't great, and the boss had told him not to get into any trouble on the air boat. And the last thing Sam wanted was to disappoint the boss.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"<Boss calls me Q, and I like that name.>" Q said to the other Gallade. He watched as Kay delivered a slight bow. For a moment, Q considered to simply grin and say something snarky like 'yes, bow to me!', but at the last moment his honor won out. Q returned the bow, before leaning back and using a bit of telekinesis to recline in mid air. He put his hands behind his head and watched as the pair of Duskinors began to converse. Some movement near Robin caught the corner of Q's eye, and the Gallade looked over to see his trainer conversing with another trainer, a woman, and one with quite a few powerful Pokemon around her.
"<Well, I'll see you around.>" Q said to Kay before teleporting away. In an instant, the Gallade appeared silently behind the Scrafty and Sceptile, standing in a relaxed position as he looked the two Pokemon up and down.
Doom chuckled along with Toty and Moon before calming down and hearing something alarming. He couldn't quite make it out, but it didn't sound all that great, as it was coming from one of the bathrooms. He also noticed that the Pokemon that was beside Sylvia and Chu vanished, who were now enjoying sweet Puffs, so he just shrugged before asking Toty and Moon about it. <I just noticed one if your colleagues leave and possibly vomit, but I can't hear that far away. Does he have anything against any food here, like sweets?>
Meanwhile, it took Chu a second to realize that Celeste was giving her a Puff. Snapping from her daze, she looked at all the choices with such a sparkle in her eyes as she held her tail tightly in excitement and she began glowing with static electricity, which were emanating in little spurts from her cheeks. It seemed that Flash was working just fine. She calmed her exciting lightbulb display before trying to find one she liked. Really liking sweets in general, she went for a pink one. Looking up at Celeste with puppy dog eyes, she questioned if she could have one with a simple cock of her head and pointing at one of the pink puffs, even though it was already offered. Excited squeaking could be heard from the base of her throat, but she wasn't actually saying anything in Pokéspeak.
Meanwhile, Shade noticed Helbram leave and the excited look on Chu's face as she was offered a Puff. Smiling and chuckling at her adorable mouse, it took her a second to realize that Ceres was leaving. She waved at Whisper and Ceres goodbye before going back to whatever was being talked about at the moment.
Doom looked back to notice Whisper and Ceres was leaving. He barked at Whisper and Ceres goodbye and with a friendly wag of his tail before turning his attention to Toty and Moon.
<Celeste and Ceres>
Whisper turned her head back slightly hearing Dooms farewell, she fanned her nine tails in her own wave farewell as she and Ceres departed.
Sylvia picked up the puff that Chu was interested in and handed it to her. A look of concern washed over Sylvia's face hearing the noised Helbram made in the washroom. <Oh my....> Sylvia gasped, <I hope he's alright.>
After Sylvia took out the puff for Chu, Celeste repacked the case into her bag and stood up, "I think I'll head out too, need my rest for tomorrow, I would suggest you guys do the same if there is nothing overly important."
<Bye, Chu, it was nice meeting you, good luck this season!> Sylvia wrapped a ribbon around Chu and nodded before leaving her and walking away with Celeste and waving at everyone with her ribbons.
Celeste walked to the counter, with Sylvia closely by her and picked up a bag similar to Ceres had from the attendant there. "Thanks!" Celeste smiled. Sylvia waved at the attendant with one of her ribbons reaching over the counter as the two of them left the restaurant.
<Kari>
"Very cool! I'm deciding if I want to head to Galar after the Battle Spire. The Dynamax Phenomenon sounds super fun to try out, and the gym battles I hear are a real spectacle. I guess we can get a taste of it at the Grand Masters Arena on the island if we get the opportunity to battle there!" Kari looked around, "Well, I'm going to go check out the rest of the ship! Cya!" She waved at Hyōga and headed into the glass dome Shadow following closely behind her.
The ship roared to life as it took off for its island destination. Max stumbled back a little, surprised by the sudden noise and movement. As the ship's flight stabilized, Max turned his attention back to the simulation Garchomp, who seemed to be awaiting his first move. Max nodded slightly at Flygon and commanded:
"Use Earthquake!"
Without hesitation, Flygon dived down towards the battlefield below and slammed its tail against the groud. Shockwaves flew in all directions from the impact of the attack. The entire arena was turned into a jagged landscape as the earthquake attack ravaged the land. To avoid getting caught in the dangerous earthquake, Garchomp lunged at Flygon with a high-speed Dragon Rush. Flygon tried flying out of the way, but this Garchomp was just too fast, and Flygon was clipped by the dragon rush. Garchomp landed on a giant piece of rubble left over from the earthquake and without skipping a beat, shot off it with the force of a cannon, going for another Dragon Rush. Still recovering from the last hit, Flygon was struck by yet another powerful blow. Max thought:
Well this isn't quite optimal, but, in a situation like this, I guess we have to give that technique a try, unpolished or not....
"Sandstorm Shield!"
Flygon beat its powerful wings, its eyes glowing, concentrating intensely on the ground below. Just as Garchomp was about to land another devastating Dragon Rush, a pillar of sand erupted from the torn-up battlefield, completely encasing Flygon in a vicious Sandstorm attack. Flygon cupped its small hands together, wincing from the damage it had taken, but still completely focused nonetheless. Slowly, the pillar of sand began to settle down in a sphere shape, forming a barrier around Flygon. Garchomp seemed unfazed by the Sandstorm and opened its mouth, gathering raw energy for its Hyper Beam finisher.
Max called out to Flygon:
"Take it head-on! Greet it with your best Dragon Claw!"
Usually, I don't like risky moves like this, but I'm curious to see how the shield holds up. Flygon's a tough Pokemon. It can handle this.
Flygon, still protected by the Sandstorm, held out a single claw of energy and went into a dive-bomb maneuver, charging straight at Garchomp straight below. Garchomp, in response, fired its Hyper Beam, the brilliant orange beam colliding with Flygon's Sandstorm shield. Flygon pushed through the attack slowly but surely, readying its own Dragon Claw. However, the Hyper Beam was rapidly incinerating the Sandstorm.
Max crossed his fingers behind his back, desperately hoping that Flygon's attack would hit first. The entire battle rested on the next few seconds. Suddenly, there was a great explosion of sand and rubble. The Hyper Beam seemed to have finally broken the barrier, but strangely enough, the Hyper Beam itself was...gone? As the smoke cleared, Max opened his eyes and saw Flygon struggling to stand while the simulated Garchomp lay there motionless. Slowly, Max put together the pieces and deduced that Flygon's Dragon Claw connected the same moment that the shield gave away to Hyper Beam, so Flygon was hit point-blank for a little bit of time while knocking out Garchomp in the process.
(O.O.C: this post is incomplete, I'll add to it when I have time)
A jolt was sent through the Argonautica as it took off, causing Lorenne to lose her footing for a moment. After a second, she was able to find her footing and continue viewing Surge’s battle. The Eelektross levitated on its own, and so wasn’t affected by the turbulence. He continued his barrage of Crush Claw attacks against the opposing Mamoswine, the Pokémon’s body twisted and turned smoothly as it maintained a quick pace of strikes, the opposing Pokémon. But Mamoswine’s defenses against the attacks were nothing to scoff at, either. Nearly every Crush claw was parried by one of its tusks, even when Surge attempted to strike from behind, the Mamoswine swung itself to meet every strike. Surge would need to change it up to get in a hit...
Lorenne called to Surge, motioning for it to pull back by curling her fingers in. The Eelektross darted a few feet back, just barely avoiding the next swing of Mamoswine’s tusks.
“Grass Knot.” She called to Surge under her breath. Two blades of grass sprouted from the ground around the Mamoswine’s feet. But the Mamoswine acted quickly, stomping the grass knot into the ground. It then reared up and charged at Surge, preparing for a Giga Impact. Lorenne snapped her fingers to wordlessly signal Surge’s next attack. It would need to be timed perfectly in order to be effective, but she and Surge had practiced the strategy thoroughly.
As she had hoped, Surge sacrificed a bit of health, and produced a Substitute mere seconds before the Giga Impact hit. Surge slithered a few feet to the side to avoid the collision, and the Substitute Eelektross took damage instead, and faded.
Now there was a clear opening for attack. While Mamoswine recovered from the recoil of its full-force move, Surge moved in time with Lorene’s command and used all of its strength to strike the Mamoswine from behind with Superpower, a risky move because of its stat-lowering effects, but also a risk worth taking. Surge unleashed one, two, then three powerful swings, using a considerable amount of its energy. Surge retreated after the attack, visibly winded.
The hologram paused, seemingly frozen for a moment, and then finally faded. A chime from the simulator signaled that the match was over.
“Well done,” Lorenne smiled with pride at Surge. “I hope I see more of that from you on the Island!”
Luna
"Sweets? Like Poképuffs? You must be talking about Helbram." Moon turns to the restroom and could hear vomiting. "Yep that’s Helbram alright, you got anything bitter on hand Doom?" Toty was giving tiny chuckles and gave Luna a spurt of water to his face, signaling that Helbram was in the restroom. Luna waved to Ceres and Celeste walking out of the restaurant.
Luna walked into the restroom and checked each stall. He could hear vomiting in one and checked his bag. "Crap, I don’t have any Rawst berries." Helbram loved those kinds of berries and would usually eat them after smelling a sweet. Helbram came out of the stall a few minutes later, still feeling nauseous after the vomiting.
Luna returned Helbram to his Pokéball and walked out, Cryzee and Confusion following him. "Toty, Moon, come back to my room whenever your done talking ok? You’ll need some rest, especially since tomorrow is the day." Toty and Moon gave understanding nods to Luna. Luna walked out of the prestigious restaurant "Night Shade, gotta get to my room, and, do you by any chance, have any bitter tasting berries?"
Akabane
"No offense taken, but it’s a better idea to not say no offense before or after saying something offensive, since your basically foreshadowing that it’s gonna offend that particular person. Your guess about my title, is correct, I don’t dress them up, well I do sometimes," Akabane gave a tiny laugh, "it’s just a way I fight, you might see it in the Battle Spire."
Sapphire gave a wide grin and bit Akabane’s head. Then a stupid thought came across his head. Did I really just try to use leaf storm on a flying type? What’s a few hundred razor leaves and high speed winds do against something that can fly? Sapphire truly thought he was stupid, but it seemed that the Farfetch’d had lost it’s tension and Sapphire would not have to worry about it, for now.
Cheren hopped of Akabane’s hands and went to the bubbly Plusle, Cherry. Hi there! Cheren realized his voice was a bit distorted and would have to alter it to sound natural again. Cheren blanked out for a second to make some adjustments and came back with a smile. "Sorry about that awkwardness, I have to alter my voice every now and then so other Pokémon can hear me like regular."
"Oh, uh, we're from a place somewhere in the Galar region, my sister and I. A small farm of sorts. Although, since we've moved out, we've both been traveling a lot, so we really don't have permanent homes. Well, we do, but we only end up there every half year or so... Excuse my rambling, this is something I'm not super used to. And yeah, I suppose they are getting along quite well." He said, as the two spoke to each other. He didn't even flinch when the boat lifted off.
"That's a question no ones asked me before. I suppose I like to read, and study random things about people and places. And talk with the only other intelligent Pokemon I know. Not to be rude of course, I don't really meet a whole lot of other Pokemon due to my trainers job and other things... And I don't really do hexes, I guess I have done a few... but how about you?” The black and menacing looking ghost Pokémon returned the question.
Jasmine ran to the front of the ship, looking at the shimmering sea below them. She quickly took out her camera, taking a picture of the view.
''Wow. The ocean is so beautiful from here.'' She commented to herself. Jasmine quickly took out six Pokeballs, letting out her team to see the view with her. ''Isn't the view great here?'' Jasmine asked her Pokemon, in response they all smiled, nodding happily. They would all look at the ocean below them in comfortable silence.
Shade smiled as Chu and Sylvia were getting along. When Sylvia gave Chu the puff, the little mouse licked a little of the creamy top and almost fainted from the sweetness. Her eyes were half-lidded with pleasure and her cheeks buzzed with crackling electricity. An intense smell of sweet pancakes began to fill the entire room of the restaurant.
Chu hugged the Sylvia back with one arm and her tail and waved goodbye, her spirits being raised for the remainder of the week. Shade waved Celeste and Sylvia goodbye and looked up to see Luna asking her about bitter-tasting berries. Shade looked in her bag and rummaged around until she found her a large pouch filled with berries. Looking inside, she picked a few out and smelled them before putting them back in and taking out a couple more. Finding the right bitter ones, she gave them to Luna - a Rawst, Durin, and Aguav berries. Smiling sweetly, she popped the last sushi roll in her mouth and getting up. Finishing it quickly, she motioned for Chu to get ready. Chu hopped on her tail, still holding the puff she was given.
Doom looked back to see his trainer getting ready. He looked at his trainer with puppy dog eyes, to which the scientist spotted and giggled a little. "You know the area. You can walk with them and talk as you guys get back. You have eaten, so don't worry about being back late."
Chu hovered close to her trainer's side while Shade offered her hand for Luna to shake. "Nice to see you, Luna. But we must be off, as well. Let's see if I can sleep tonight," Shade chuckled a bit.
Doom smiled since he was able to stay and he looked at Toty and Moon. <Shall we? We can walk on the way to where you need to go. I have been patrolling the place and memorizing it, so I know how to get back to my trainer's quarters. Anyway, what else shall we talk about....? Oh, how did you two meet Luna?> Doom got up and motioned his body towards the door, but still kept his head looking at the two Pokemon before him.
Q rubbed a hand on his chin as he watched Sapphire and Bruce a moment longer. He was still right behind them from when he had teleported silently, but it appeared they still hadn't noticed him.
<Well, you both look pretty tough. But your peripherals could use some work.> Q said from behind the pair. A cocky but lighthearted grin was on his face, and it was clear from his relaxed posture that he didn't want to fight. At least, that's what it looked like.
"Hey, I'd look forward to it. Maybe I'll even get to experience it if we end up going toe-to-toe." Robin said. The swordsman continued petting the Absol, who began to finally take a little notice of the noise. The dark type let out a small yawn as it slowly awoke. The Absol gave her trainer a drowsy nuzzle, but once it saw Akabane and her crew all semblance of drowsiness was lost. A slight look of panic came into Rea's eye as she quickly jumped off of Robin, hiding behind his chair. She slowly peeked her head up, ducking it down once again when she saw Bruce.
"Hey, hey. It's okay." Robin said, petting Rea. The blue haired trainer gave an apologetic look to Akabane.
"Sorry. She's still nervous around new people, especially dark-types." Robin said to Akabane.
<Hello!> Cherry said cheerfully to the Porygon-Z. She was a little confused when it's voice changed, but was pretty much unaffected. <That's okay. My name's Cherry! What's your name?>
"Galar, huh? I've never been there myself, but I hear it's a rather interesting place. That's where you have giant Pokemon fighting in official battles, right?" Ed thoughtfully fiddled with his ring for a moment. I wonder how a mega-evolved Pokemon would fare against a giant Pokemon... Suddenly, an idea struck him. He took Noro off of his shoulder and held up the small Pokemon. "You're from a region I've never been to, and say that you travel a lot. Recently, I caught this Pokemon swimming around in the ocean, like he was lost or something. Do you have any idea what sort of Pokemon he is? I've been asking people that I know, but I haven't really run into anyone since I've caught him that have traveled to more than a couple regions."
[[O.O.C. Noro is a Dreepy]]
"Like I said," Morgan replied, "my hobby is experimenting with new curses! It's so much fun to see your enemies disabled, unable to do anything against you, that I've made an art form out of it! There was a Gallade here a few moments ago - I don't know where he went. I was about to visit one of my new curses upon him that would have left him burned and weakened had my trainer not interrupted me. He gets so unreasonably annoyed when I try to do things like that; he should instead be thanking me for disabling potential enemies." Morgan glared for a brief second at Edward, who completely failed to notice.
“Well... I believe that’s a Dreepy. They’re not super common across Galar, as they tend to stay in one spot in the region, which is a place in the wild area. Seems pretty nice to me, you’ll be able to get a Dragapult. Also, about that big Pokémon thing, that’s called Dynamaxing. I’ve only done it during league battles, as you need power spots to even be able to Dynamax. But really, your Pokémon just get bigger, and are capable of using powerful moves for three turns. Not really too special. But some are capable of this thing called ‘Gigantamaxing’ which certain Pokémon can do, but not all the Pokémon of that species. But excuse me for that, that’s about all I know.” He said, pausing shortly at each sentence end.
Unable to do anything, huh? That’s kinda what Lucane revolved his team around. But his ways are trapping rather than fully disabling... Not to shun you away, because practice makes perfect, but I think that that your trainer is just looking out for you. I mean, someday, you might try and hex a Pokémon too strong for you to handle. Even if you do disable them, they might be able to get out of it quicker. But I have to admit, hexing can be really fun.” Vodric responded as his eye looked another direction. Across the boat, Stiener has been smiling, and his left spoon caught on fire, which he was surprised at and began shaking and trying to blow it out. He looked at Vodric, who gave a quiet chuckle, and continued to look back to Morgan.
A trainer—about 16 or 17, and his Xatu was looking out of the air boat with dismay. This was going to be the end of him. He couldn’t compete against these trainers, what was he thinking!? His team was a joke... He let out the most melancholy sigh, then looked at his Xatu. It just stared back at him, showing no emotion whatsoever.
Sophia was at the front of the boat, heading towards the island. She looked around and saw loads of other trainers on the boat as well. Sophia sighed, You should probably go and talk to them she thought. She shook her head, she knew she was too shy to talk to them, she’d never go up and talk to a stranger. I’m hear to win Pokemon battles, Sophia reminded herself, not to make friends.
<TIME SKIP TO THE ARRIVAL ON THE ISLAND, JUST SUMMARIZE WHAT YOU DID DURING THE TIME>
<Also huge post>
<Kari>
Kari explored the ship for the rest of the trip stopping by some of the screen that were showing the virtual battles of some of the trainers that were utilizing the virtual battlers. She recognized Max and watched his Flygon battle it out with the virtual Garchomp. And she briefly watched another trainer who was battling with an Eelektross against a virtual Mamoswine. It was all very exciting. Kari found a seat for the remainder of the trip in the lower part of the ship by a window that would normally by submerged underwater if the ship was in water. Shadow sat in a seat next to her. She never thought she would be able to fall asleep but sure enough, she dozed off with her head against the window.
<Approx. 2 Hours Later>
Kari was awoken by Shadow pulling slightly on he jumper and pushing her shoulder. "Wha...?" Kari readjusted herself in her seat while she looked out the window. It seems like the majority of the passengers had gotten over the novelty of the flying ship and had taken seats in various places and comfortably enjoying each-others company and their Pokémon. The Argonautica was descending and Kari had slept through most of the decent, the ship was just skimming the water now, slightly slowing down as it made reentry into the water. The stern of the ship made contact with the water first and slowly the rest of the hull landed in the water. The window next to Kari was completely underwater now and Kari could see countless schools of Pokémon and various larger ones like families of Wailords and Wailmers, Mantins, Mantykes, Tentacruel, Corsola, Lumineon, Seaking, just to name a few.
Kari unbuckled her seat-belt and got out of her seat after the ship stabilized in the water and was cruising along speedily across the water. She went back out onto the deck, a lot more people were present now. Kari managed to squeeze her way to the front of the boat and she could see the Veritas Island in the near distance. Most of all she can see the Battle Spire, spearing proudly into the sky, its reflective surface glimmering in the distance like a flame. She noticed that all around them seemed to be surrounded by a very dense wall of mist and fog, and that they had entered a massive circular clearing in the middle of it. "No wonder this island is impossible to find, it hidden in here." Kari looked up to the sky and strangely it was clear. So they were in a massive hole within the mist and fog.
Flying and oceanic bird Pokémon flew over head of every kind from various regions. some of the more curious water Pokémon swam up near the boat, some greeting the trainers they saw on the railing. As the Argonautica drew closer to the island it slowed down more and more as sail boats were spotted, 1 to 2 person sailboats along with some of the more daring Pokémon surfers on larger Pokémon such as Balstoise, Gyarados, Sharpedo, Kingdra, Milotic, and the like.
Kari let out her Salamence onto the deck after finding an empty spot on the deck. "If you want to fly and follow the boat you can." Kari patted the blue dragon. Sal roared with excrement as he took off into the air, barrel rolling and somersaulting gracefully though the air, startling some of the sea bird Pokémon around the area keeping pace with the boat. Within moments the boat slowed down dramatically as it prepared to dock.
The Battle Spire was a simple yet stunning piece of architecture. The entire outside was covered in reflective windows with eight distinct edges that run vertically along the entire tower in gradual spiral upward into a singular point high into the air at the top of the tower, at its base were three large structures each connected to the base of the Spire with varying sloping and angular architecture, and also entirely covered in reflective windows. The overall shape of the tower was that of a candle flame
The massive dock that the Argonautica stopped at appeared to be specifically built for the skyboat. It pulled into an internal tunnel structure built out over the water, inside, eight bridges connected to the eight exit points of the ship, the interior of the building was massive and spacious, decorated with paintings of various Pokémon and renowned trainers. Machokes and Machops seem to be the primary staffed Pokémon in the area carrying luggage off the boat and running around with various mundane tasks.
Kari exited the boat as quickly as she could after returning Sal. She ran across the bridge, down various stairs, too excited to care about the glandular building with its many glass and crystal decorations. As soon as she exited the building she stopped to enjoy the sight. In front of was a massive plaza various trainers and Pokémon were scattered all over, many battle arenas were it up around the plaza as trainers battled one another for a bit of practice and to size one another up. in the very center of the plaza was a huge circular water fountain embedded into the ground with five other smaller ones evenly spaced around it, very impressive water works interconnected each of the fountains eventually with all five smaller fountains feeding streams into the center. The center fountain was elaborately decorated with the main feature being a huge statue of a Victini, with one of its hands raised in the air with a huge flaming fireball above its hand, the ball was actually on fire. Opposite of the building where the ship docked was the second landmark of Veritas Island. A huge basilica-like structure with four very tall spires even space across the front it, each was intricately decorated with carvings and statues of various Pokémon, there were three huge double doors at the top of the stairs, realistic statues of Arcanines were in bewteen each set of doors, sitting and looking out to the ocean. <For reference look up the La Sagrada Família Basilica>
Tall flag poles were evenly spaced around the plaza each flag had the symbol of the Pokémon leagues of numerous regions. In the Far distance there was another massive structure that resembled am unrealistically huge birds-nest slightly behind and off to the side of the Battle Spire, it was the Grand Masters Arena.
After taking in the sights Kari was joined by her fellow newcomers to the island. In front of her was a young woman in her mid twenties with darker toned skin, long black hair that was pulled into a neat ponytail, and piercing green eyes. She stood with her arms crossed waiting for all the new arrivals. She was dressed in black skintight shorts, a white tube-top and a cropped oversized grey zip-up hoodie, with simple but neat black sneakers, on the center of her tube-top was the symbol of the Battle Spire and around her neck hung a trainer card similar to the one Kari has except there was a bright red glowing outline around it. She was accompanied by a Charizard to her right and a Haxorus to her left, in addition there was a relatively large troop of Obstagoons that were directing all the new comers to gather in front of the woman. Kari tried to read the name on the woman's trainer card. 'Rebecca Violet' why does she seem so familiar ? Kari frowned slightly but kept looking around, she could already tell that the trainers here were absolutely amazing, the battles taking place on the arena's in the distance were incredibly intense.
An Obstagoon ran up to Rebecca a few moments later handing her a clipboard. She quickly scanned it and nodded. "Thanks." she told the Obstagoon. "All right everyone if I may have your attention please!" Rebecca commanded, her voice clear, sharp, and authoritative. "On behalf of the Battle Spire we welcome you all to Veritas Island. I hope the trip out here was not too inconvenient. Allow me to introduce myself, I am Rebecca Violet, I am one of the premier Battlemasters here on the island, some of you might recognize me, I know I recognize some of you, A little bit about myself, my starter Pokémon was a Charmander." she gestured to her Charizard, "I am originally from the Kanto region and a registered member of the Kanto Hall of Fame, currently I spend most of my off-seasons at the Battle Tree in Alola."
"BOWWW!" A strange sound that resembled a bark echoed as an extremely fast flying Pokémon swooped out from behind the tower and landed behind Rebecca, small dragon wings, a yellow body and long tail. It was a Dragonite and it was carrying a large messenger bag. "Bow?" the Dragonite reached into the messenger bad and pulled out a large stack of thin red books with the Spire logo printed on the cover.
"Thanks Joy, right on time." Rebecca nodded at the Dragonite, "Could you pass these out for me?" Joy nodded happily and handed a few smaller stacks to the assisting Obstagoons as he began passing them out himself. "Alright everyone, these little booklets with tell you everything you need to know about the Island, how our challenge system works, the rules, and some general information about notable members of the Spire including the Spire Masters." Rebecca clapped her hands together. "Now! I'm not going to go through the entire book with you all but I will highlight some key points. THE MOST important rule here is do NOT try to cheat the system. Every official challenge and battle is monitored, WIN TRADING is strictly forbidden and you will be escorted off the island immediately and banned from competing in the Spire in the current and future seasons, for those of you not sure what win trading is, basically when individuals agree to throwing a match on purpose to lose then re-challenging later and the other will lose on purpose. Please, please, don't do it, it's never worth it. Now, as Participants you are all welcome to challenge any other participant here. As I said before every battle is monitored and mediated by an official, you will find no shortages of arenas on the island, and especially within the tower. You may only officially challenge the same trainer every six hours and they hold every right to decline. But feel free to challenge people as many times as you want to practice sessions."
Kari was flipping through the book as Rebecca was explaining some of the rules. She turned to near the back of the book and found a page that summed up the core rules and how the overall system works. Official battles can happen at anytime and anywhere. Battling in the Spire is a great way to meet new trainers and a wide variety of them since it functioned similar to the Battle Tower where random match-ups happen and the trainers just go toe to toe in full battles. The more interesting thing that Kari was looking for was the Spire's Point system. They were called Glory and Prestige. Defeating other participants in official matches grants a base of one Glory point. If no additional points are wagered the losing trainer will lose nothing, but if points are wagered then Glory points would be subtracted from the losers Glory points. Once a Participant has collected five Glory points they can spend the points to challenge any Battlemaster of any Tier. Defeating Battlemasters awards Prestige Points, a Tier 1 Battlemaster awards 1 Prestige point, a Tier 2 awards 3 points, and a Tier 3 awards 5. The higher the Tier, the tougher they are. Collecting 5 Prestige points allows the individual to challenge a Spire Master.
"If there are any further questions, please feel free to ask any member of the Battle Spire staff, including myself, Battlemasters are official Spire staff and they will be more than happy to assist you. Battle Spire staff can be identified by their glowing trainer cards," Rebecca held up her own so everyone could see, "They are not all necessarily have red glowing borders, but only staff with the glowing borders. Now if you would all follow me, let's get all your cards activated!" Rebecca led the group towards the massive basilica-like building. Her three Pokémon forming a rough triangle around the group of people and some of the Obstagoons were in between them making sure no one was wandering off.
At the base of the stairs of the large building there was a very long row of tables set up similar to the ones at the docks before they boarded the ship. The group was split into ten different lines to speed the process up. each line was relatively short and Kari was up to the desk relatively quickly, she had been so distracted and excited by the beautiful scenery she almost tipped on herself. The island seemed to be the perfect mixture of technology and nature.
"Your letter and the card you received before boarding the ship please." the lady at the desk asked. Kari drew out her letter once more and handed her the requested items. The lady inserted the card halfway into another machine on the desk and with the letter in hand she held it in front of a scanner.
BEEP
She pulled out the card and handed Kari her card and the letter. The bright blue LED on the left of the card had turned bright green. 'Your card is now active. We will no longer need the letter so do what you want with it. If you would like to be taken to the resort area of the Island where you will be staying there is a group forming by Rebecca and she will take you all once everyone has activated their cards." The lady gestured to Rebecca who was standing and waiting near a stone-paved path that lead down to a lower part of the island. "Or you can explore on your own. The plaza is a fantastic place to meet and challenge fellow trainers, there is a city further into the island you can visit there are numerous trails and roads that lead there, and that is also where the Spire is located." The lady bowed and explained, "Enjoy your stay Miss. Rebane."
Kari smiled and nodded. "Thanks!" Kari left the line ran to the Victini fountain in the center of the plaza and let out all of her team once more. "Gather up guys! Photo op!" She squished her team together and snapped a selfie in front the statue and sent it to Celeste.
Sophia jumped. She was so lost in her thoughts that when Hyoga talked to her, it gave her a huge fright. “Oh-er-“ She stuttered when she was interrupted by the boat stopping. She saw all the trainers getting off the boat. “Looks like we have to go now...” Sophia said nervously and went towards the exit for the boat. “Bye.” She said over her shoulder. Wow, She thought as she walked off of the boat, great social skills. Her anxiety disappeared as she looked around the island, and it was replaced with excitement. This is it. This is where I become the best trainer in the world.
Jasmine quickly took out her team's respective Pokéballs, tapping each one of them with their Pokéballs. Running towards the exit of the ship. After she exited the ship, she followed other trainers, eventually, she saw a Dragonite handing out thin red books with the Spire logo printed on them. The Dragonite noticed Jasmine and gave her a book then hurried to other trainers giving them the books she had just received, too. Jasmine followed other trainers. She came to a very long row of tables set up, also seeing other trainers lining up, their letters and the trainer cards they had received on their hands. She would follow the other trainers, taking out her letter and the trainer card that she received with the letter out. The line she was waiting in finished relatively quickly. ''Your letter and trainer card, please.'' The man at the desk asked. ''Oh, of course.'' Jasmine handed over both, keeping a smile on her face. The man inserted the trainer card she had given onto a machine. The man would then hold her letter in front of some sort of scanner.
There was a short silence, then interrupted by a loud beep by the machine. The LED light on her card turned into a bright green. ''You're trainer card is now active. We will no longer need this letter, you may do as you please with it.'' The man gave back the letter that Jasmine had given. '' You are free to explore on your own if you wish. There's the plaza where you can meet and battle other trainers if you please. There are also a lot of trails around the island that you can take. Not to mention also a city around here, the Spire is also located there, if you want to take a look at it.'' He said, giving Jasmine some information about the island. ''Or if you wish to be taken to the resort, where you will be staying, follow the large group of people forming near Rebecca, you may wait with the other trainers who have already finished activating their trainer cards. She will take everyone to the resort, once everyone has all activated their trainer cards.'' The man said, gesturing to the large group of people and Rebecca, ''Enjoy your stay, Miss Silverwood.'' The man said, bowing politely.
''Thanks for the information, sir,'' Jasmine said, nodding. Jasmine stuffed her letter into her bag. She walked towards the massive crowd of people but noticed the Victini fountain, curious, she walked to it, tilting her head up to take a good look at it. She took out her camera from her bag and took a picture of the Victini fountain.
Hyōga was one of the first off of the ship, slipping effortlessly through the crowds toward an awaiting attendant
BEEEP
“Your trainer card is now active. We will no longer need this letter, you may do as you please with it.” The lady smiled as Hyōga grabbed a book and his card back, taking a moment to notice the new green LED before wandering his way off toward the central plaza.
Upon arrival he noticed Jasmine taking a selfie at the Victini fountain. stopping to take a picture of the water feature himself
“It’s pretty incredible this place, ever been before? I’m Hyōga by the way” he said smiling as he lazily slipped his left hand into the cool azure water do the fountain.
Bailey had spent the majority of the trip looking out over the sea and sizing up the competition. He hopped off the boat with a smile, with Weavile by his side, and grabbed a red booklet from the Dragonite, then he followed the other trainers to a long row of tables with attendants behind them. He lined up in one of the lesser lines, practically bursting with excitement. He couldn't wait for his first battle here. "Your letter and trainer card please." The attendant asked him. "Of course!" He responded cheerfully, then gave them to the attendant. She inserted his trainer card into the machine behind her until an audible BEEP! was heard, then held the letter in front of a scanner for a second. The attendant returned his trainer card and letter, then said "Your trainer card is now activated, and we no longer require this letter. You may do with it as you please. You are now free to explore the island as you wish, additionally if you would like to be taken to the Resort Area where you'll be staying, there is a group forming around Rebecca." She gestured towards Rebecca, then turned back to continue. "You can also head to the plaza to find other trainers to meet and battle with, or head to the city where the Spire is located further North from here. Finally, we hope you enjoy your stay on Veritas Island Mr. Thornbury, and good luck with the Spire!" Bailey thanked the attendant and made his way to the group forming around Rebecca.
Loki spent most of his time on the deck of the air ship, marveling at the wild Pokémon that he’d never seen before. His Xatu seemed to just stare into oblivion the entire time. Whence he exited the ship, he headed toward one of tables, gazing at the architecture. He started to heat up in his jacket, sweating like a waterfall. Whence it was his turn, the attendant asked,” Your letter and trainer card, please.” “Here you go!” BEEP The LED lights shifted from blue to green. “Your card is now active. We will no longer need the letter so do what you want with it. If you would like to be taken to the resort area of the Island where you will be staying there is a group forming by Rebecca and she will take you all once everyone has activated their cards.”, she stated,” Or you can explore on your own. The plaza is a fantastic place to meet and challenge fellow trainers, there is a city further into the island you can visit there are numerous trails and roads that lead there, and that is also where the Spire is located." She paused to catch up breath,” Enjoy your time, Mr. Primus.”
He walked around in awe of the whole island, before accidentally bumping into a trainer who was wearing... is that a jumper? He isn’t the best when it came to fashion. He quickly apologized,” Oh, I’m so sorry! Didn’t see you there!” His Xatu next to him chuckled a bit.
@Foxex he bumped into Kari.
