At the Aether Foundation, Faba praised himself as usual as he completed the new experiment successfully. With this device, he could become the next big face in science! Little did he realize, however, that watching him in the shadows was the only person he truly feared. "Hello, Faba." a cold voice said. Faba flinched. He recognized that voice right away.
"D-Dexter! Wh-what a pleasant surprise!" he stammered, a nervous smile on his face.
"Cut the formalities, you egotistical oaf. You know why I'm here." Dex growled as he emerged from the shadows. "When you gave me the memory drive I requested last week, you said there were only two energy readings. So imagine then, how surprised I was when I found a THIRD."
"A-a third signal?! But I checked the reading a hundred times! There was never a third!" Faba exclaimed.
"I suppose you didn't check thoroughly enough then." Dex said. "Now, as ticked off as I am about that, I've got another assignment for you. One simple enough even for you." Faba let out a growl at this. Did he have to insult him all the time? That brat had always looked down on him since they first met. Begrudgingly, he listened on. "I need you to make a device to amplify the energy wavelengths of the orbs I've acquired. The strength should be strong enough to reach Sinnoh."
"I refuse!" Faba shouted. "I've had enough of bowing down before you! Your arrogance and destructive tactics have worn on me enough as it is! I, the great Faba, will have no more of being your accomplice! I-...WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING!?" He yelled in fury at the now Laughing member of Team Skull.
"You're already my accomplice, professor ego. After all, it was you who told me where to find the items I sought out." Dex chuckled. "And that's not counting the times you've played accomplice to several OTHER questionable organizations. Plasma, Rocket, even my father's very own organization. I'd consider myself lucky no one's found out about these links, yet...wouldn't you agree?"
"Where are you going with this...?!" Faba asked, unnerved by how much this teenage runt knew.
"Well, It'd be a shame if someone let slip word of your links to these criminal teams." Dex said, a devious smile stretching across his face as he took a file out of his bag. "You'd be living the rest of your life behind bars, and with your license revoked." Faba swallowed hard. He was trapped now. Letting out a growl, then a sigh, he finally spoke.
"Three days, plus shipping time. Expect it then." He muttered. "And you better pay for it."
"But of course." Dex said, handing him a large bag of Poke. "Don't fail me." He then left the laboratory as Faba looked to the ground, regretting ever teaming up with such a despicable human being.
