"Ray and I will be honored to help your research. Maybe you could help us out also. Ray is trying to train two Pokemon who where used badly in the past, but he can't seem to get through them," Maker explained.
"Oh, actually I might be able to help out with that. My mom's a domestic pokemon trainer back in Mossdeep. People hire her to housetrain their pokemon, usually basic sit, stay type stuff. Occasionally she did get mistreated or misbehaving pokemon though, with the goal of helping them ease back into a normal life. I'm not as good as she is, but I'd be happy to give it a shot."
As Alex was talking, Espeon floated a pillow over to the corner of the room and set it down on the floor. He curled up to watch the goings on from his comfy new seat. Alex saw this happening and turned to Maker. "I'm really sorry about that, I can go wash your pillow later."
"Oh, and I see we've dragged some more innocent bystanders into our group, huh?" he got up and extended his hand toward Alex. "My name's Ray!"
Azumi put away her plate and offered her sit to Alex. "I'm sure you and Ray have a lot to talk about!" She the got some bags of potato chips and poured then in two different giant bowls. She left one for Ray and Alex and took the other one to the leaving room.
"Hey, nice to meet you! I'm Alex," he introduced himself, shaking Ray's hand. "I'm not sure how much of our conversation you heard, but I'm trying to get into pokemon behavioral research, so I'd love to hear about how your pokemon handled your changing sides. Also, I might be able to help out with those two pokemon you're working on rehabilitating?" Alex sat down and reached for some chips. He tried to position himself so that Nana would feel less intimidated if she chose to take some too. "I saw a flyer yesterday that you were giving a talk at the new city hall today?"
