LEON
Some damage landed (and that duck waddled off). This was enough to satisfy Leon and let him know that this foe could be downed. It was just a matter of one-upping it consistently, and also not taking too much damage in the process. That was also pretty important.
"Impressive...for a couple of flesh things. Though I have seen better!"
"I'm sure you have," Leon replied sardonically, watching as it enacted a new strategy. The robot grasped onto Masaru---not something good. While Leon was impressed at his ally's earlier display of durability, he doubted Masaru nor himself could tango in a power match against the android (and the pink ball thing was probably just generally squishy, it didn't seem to have a skeleton, so it'd probably be fine if squashed). Thinking quickly as the robot zipped on its rocket-powered underside, aiming to crash into Leon while carrying Masaru, the agent reacted quickly. He didn't have too many items in his inventory to provide a whole lot of options against this foe, in this situation, but judging by the speed, acceleration, and weight of the mechanical foe, it wouldn't be able to make any sharp or sudden turns, and with Masaru busying it, Leon had an opening he was certain he could land.
Waiting for just the precise moment, Leon kicked off the ground, leaping upward as he flipped his knife to carry it upside-down, and as he reached the point of height he'd intended, right as the robot was sailing beneath him, Leon slashed with the knife, aiming to cleave into the elbow joint of the enemy, hopefully with enough force and deep enough to sever the limb and offer Masaru an advantage in his situation.
It was a blink-and-you'll-miss-it transaction, but when Leon landed, he had already yanked out Matilda, slipping about and aiming a few careful shots for the propulsion jet of the android.
NIKOLAI
Bowser was quickly punished in the game of fists, so resorted to using firebreath, already denoted by the orange glow rising in his throat. Nikolai crossed his arms over his chest in an 'x', blasted back a couple feet as the flames engulfed his body (though did not burn his pants, this is a PG rp, despite all the blood, gore, and violence). Bowser then used his most predictable strategy---leaping up to stomp down. Nikolai scoffed as he took a few steps back, avoiding the first. Bowser quickly leapt again, and Nikolai strode backwards again, raising a brow at the Koopa as he leaped a third time.
"Khorosho."
Nikolai reeled his fist back, which became heavily engulfed in a powerful indigo aura, energy crackling up his arm, before he launched the fist forward, the sound barrier cracking as his fist collided with Bowser, and a supercharged explosion of SOUL energy dispelled with a---
B O O M !
---shaking the very earth around them, sending a wave of energy all around them, even reaching the battle between Petey and Buzzo, though it had reduced to a light kinetic wave, like a strong gust of wind, at that distance. Nikolai was not finished, however, as he kicked off from the ground, an impact crater of earth shattering from his leap as he slugged into the King of the Koopas, though rather than using his prior strategy of weight and power, the Russian led with a flurry of strikes and kicks, a blur to even the most trained of eyes, his fists striking so quickly it appeared he might have had six arms moving in tandem with each other. Nikolai was sacrificing raw strength for speed, as he was now striking faster than a chain gun could fire bullets, aiming for nerve nodes and weak points, weakening the integrity of every point of contact he made while wisps of indigo magic transferred between the two with each contact point, life-stealing energy seeping into Bowser.
Well aware of Bowser's increasingly-predictable moves, if Bowser would attempt to strike back, he'd be met with fist-to-fist strikes again. Fire-breathing would result in Nikolai once again punching down the throat with the intent of grasping anything internal he could, and ripping it out. Bear-hugging would result in Nikolai slamming his rapid fists into nerve nodes along the Koopa's arms, striking for the nervous system, a strategy that would not only cause shocks of pain to jolt through Bowser (like when you hit your funny bone), but also debilitating features, able to disable parts of the body from receiving signals from the brain. If Bowser attempted to increase his weight to escape the Russian's rapid onslaught, Nikolai would quickly switch to power again, using heavy strikes to knock Bowser back up and keep them in the air longer (all of this assuming Bowser's biology had anything similar to a human and/or turtle, as Nikolai was quite skilled in biology sciences).
This entire exchange, Nikolai was laughing with pure, unadulterated joy, his eyes wide and excited. It seemed almost as though he was having the time of his life, like a child receiving a new and beloved toy on Christmas morning. His joy was child-like, even as his methods were brutal and dark. He was ignoring the fact that he was tapping into his vast droves of stored stamina and energy, something he didn't often do, but he had committed himself to this conflict, and no matter the consequence, he was having the time of his life.
