Nai, the remnants of the Uzumaki clan were in Kusagakure, that's where he picked up Karin.

He wouldn't look at Nadeshiko's fortress and suddenly decide that he wants to know all their secrets, because the secrets they have wouldn't be high enough on his priority list.

If he was researching like that then he'd also go infiltrate the temple of the Ninja monks techniques, Takigakure's Hero water, or any number of famous influential Hiden or Kekkei genkai scattered across the ninja world.

Again, there simply isn't anything in Nadeshiko to peak anyone's interest above any other secrets in the ninja world.

Let’s be honest, in about half filler episodes he has visited them in some capacity to steal secrets, or was mentioned to have some skemthing similar. The chance he had visited ther is high. Very high.

Orochimaru's ambition to learn jutsu stems for his childhood where he experienced the death of his parents and saw how death affected Tsunade. Orochimaru doesn't learn justu just for the sake of learning jutsu, his goals learn towards the acquisition of power and Immortality.

If you take note of the things he's researched they revolve around increasing power or resisting death; Sharingan, Edo Tensei, Uzumaki Bloodline, Senjutsu...

These stuff are a far cry away from things like Nadeshiko Style, or other minor Hiden. I doubt they'd peak his interest over any of his current pursuits.

Alright, I managed to set up all my characters for the time skip. Just need a reaction from Taiyo to the news (If he wants to have one) and we should be all set.

Logically yes, but Orochimaru is around Jiraiya and Tsunade's age, so he's only in his 50s.

Between all his forbidden research and founding a ninja village and a infiltrating several major ones he certainly hasn't had as much time as you imply.

If the AU was set in the future then yea, he would've had tons of time. However given his age and the sheer number of research endeavors he pursues I again see no reason why he'd choose to go after Nadeshiko which provides no apparent benefit, especially when there are more attractive things available like the various Kekkei Genkai

Between the earliest known testing of the curse mark on a young Anko, and the perfected version the sound 4 and Sasuke possess, we can use various facts

1) Kakashi and Anko are of similar age
2) Kakashi was there for Naruto's birth


Since the known time gap between the appearances of the initial and perfect curse mark is equivalent to Naruto and Sasuke's ages,

Between that decade or so Orochimaru had managed to perfect the curse mark.

That's not to say he took a full decade to perfect the curse mark but it was probably a time period in that scale.

His next major endeavor that we know of was perfecting the Edo tensei

And the incomplete version appeared early on in part one, and the finished version didn't appear till late Shippuden, so around 2~3 years conservatively.

Each individual project of Orochimaru's takes up years worth of time, and if we factor in all the work that went into acquiring 2 Jinchuriki, he certainly hasn't had chunks of time to waste without reason.

We can chalk up the time used to traveling the different islands, Reaver's erratic trophy hunts, and other complications. As has been suggested.

Maybe Azumi/Reaver get a layout of the fortress, but nothing too specific about the hidden village to reveal it in its entirety before they walk up the front door. Does this work?

I'm already bending my restrictions on my "work hard to be strong, no bloodline/special powers" cast a bit by considering a Sage Mode variant for one of them, but with the two Tailed Beasts among my main cast I might be forced to scrap it completely just to survive XD

No ninja drugs are like Hero water, and surgery is like what Zaku does.

The Inuzuka style is a Hiden, so i suggest creating your own.

Oh, this is Nadeshiko village btw. It's a collection of three castle like structures situated atop 3 hills with bridges spanning the gorges.
