W-where’s fun and merciful mode?

Never!

I rarely have fun in fights in this RP my cast are in (Natural exceptions exist). I have to worry and second guess everything I do and focus so much on outsmarting the other RPer which isn't the most fun style for me that it only adds stress to everything. I spend more timy worrying if I made a good post or screwed things up for myself and my cast (And in this arc, screwed over my team or not) then I do just trying to have fun with the RP.

Me when I think about having to fight Kyuu.

I mean being cautious and playing defense is one thing, but I feel the way Baiyan had been written in that battle was not that so much as her indeed being rather casual and carefree.

But I do appreciate the fact you think my style was worth this effort on your end. Even if my "style" isn't so much consistent and really I was in complete and utter try hard mode for that specific fight cause it did mean a lot to me (Without going too far to hide things like say Azumi vs. Kiro).
Casual, but not carefree. I'd mentioned that she was cautious of Azumi.

I didn't really feel that Baiyan had a reason to take the battle with as much seriousness as Azumi did. It was a challenge to her, but one with no real consequences whether she won or lost, as opposed to Azumi who actually had stakes in the fight.

While I might've taken the fight very seriously, Baiyan was treating the fight with a more normal level of seriousness. There were simply no stakes for her.

Wow. You guys are really cutthroat with these things XD. Calm down @Godjacob, the sun will rise up tomorrow *pats*

I mean we were cutthroat with fights even in the Chunin Exam Arc which we all treated as life or death battles. That is just the style here, now with fights that have bigger stakes and are actually life or death it will only be more so.

I know I made a joke about this, but this is pretty serious. Godjacob is the body in the RP, with shen being the brain and the rest of us being the heart and soul. Without him the RP will take a huge hit, and having a lot of stress and pressure and not having fun is a horrible thing and if he really feels like that I’d understand if he would quit. Let’s help make godjacobs life a bit easier and less stressful :)

Wait wait wait... *record stops* you’re saying you DONT plan your steps?!

R.i.p. nebby 2018-2018
Nooo, I'm saying I prefer not to plan because planning is exhausting. I end up planning anyway, but I just prefer fights where I don't need to, or can just flat out not bother planning. It's why @Retro Master needs to hurry up and have Kiro Best Her to Bed Her so I can actually lose fights with Sagisō without any negative repercussions.

Baiyan's already got a love interest...sorta? I kinda get the feeling that between her and Reaver, their relationship is only going to be awkward. But, I don't really have to worry about losing fights with her since she's no longer bound by Nadeshiko's rules.

Furījia is free to lose whenever she'll probably lose to Hyō after a while, depends on whether she uses the summon or not, and if Kenji or Zaku makes a good fight then Sagisō's third teammate will have no issues losing to them (and thus joining their Harems.)

Okay let's not go that far. I don't plan to bail on this RP I've committed too much to this and would never desire to screw you all over in that regard. Personal feelings aside.

The stress is just part of the creative process.

That’s...actually a pretty eye opening explanation nebulix

@Godjacob what can we do to make you feel more at ease?

It's because of the setting really, we're playing based on a show were losing in combat usually means you end up dead. If it wasn't for their god-like healers half the Naruto cast would've been dead by Shippuden.

Since most of our battles occur with that in mind, we can't actually lose outright since that usually means critical injury or death to your Ocs. What we need is more casual spars, or non-life-threatening battles where the life and well-being of your OC isn't what's on the line.

I mean, Hashima lost and got killed, Taiyo lost and lost his arms (his own fault), Yasu lost and Zaku almost crippled his arms.

It's just a vicious world.

*Shrugs*

No idea to be quite frank. I feel a sense of misdirection & hidden motives within the RP and even in discussions and quite honestly am afraid to talk about the RP given it will just serve as ammo for someone else here to use against other characters (Either consciously or unconsciously). People here seem to value flexing their strategy against each other rather than what would help make a better flowing narrative. I feel that getting characters "wins" and worry if they are powerful or weak more so than in any other RP cause the fights here matter so much more. And I feel they come off as inferior, that I am inferior. I feel like an idiot half the time in these strategic battles cause even with generous advice given to me by others I am just not good enough to make use of it or really compete at that level. Changing any of these would be asking RPers to change their styles which should never be the solution to literally anything.

Honestly I'll be okay for the most part. Hung out this long and have done just fine, the occasional complaint that really probably means nothing or I over-exaggerate aside. Just gotta unwind a bit is all.

Mainly cause Naruto is a Battle Shonen and we're turning it almost into a gritty Seinen Series here.

I think she's more of a mascot character who just wasn't really in the strength tier for this arc.

I believe he said she was taking part in the next chunin exams if we had one though. That arc might end up being a very major character arc for Furījia since Hinagiku and half the Hyūga clan will more certainly be watching and their expectations will probably plague her to do extremes to win.

Actually, I talk about my strategies plain as day, so does Kyuu for the most part, aside some plot related things and absurd on my end. And you have good characters, one especially. But thankfully you can prove their medal In due time. And I’d never look down on you for losing, it happens, it doesn’t make you any less of a talented writer

So yall just gonna remember this man as the destroyer of his own arms? Even if he were to save the ninja world as we knew it? Wow....
People here are very critical

Easier. Said. Than. Done.

And the stress of having them live up to that, to prove their worth in this RP to not just be losers is the part that worries me. That all their training, everything I've thought of and tried to get them at an even level or close to it will amount to nothing because I'd fail to execute in battle here,

Take a chill pill. If they don’t succeed today, then tomorrow, then the next day, and so forth. If it happens it happens

I’ve been an advocate for pre planning battles for awhile now. It works better narratively I believe. Azumi v Kiro was an example of how strategizing could ruin an epic battle.

Tbh, it just depends on matchups though.
