Welcome back to Pokécharms! We've recently launched a new site and upgraded forums, so there may be a few teething issues as everything settles in. Please see our Relaunch FAQs for more information.
I think it makes sense to carry over some sort of fatigue system without limiting the number of usable moves, since IRL people and animals can't infinitely lift heavy weight or sprint indefinitely. My ideal system would be one where the more training a Pokemon has with a specific move the more times they can use it, so if you have a Machamp that does nothing but train Seismic Toss it would be able to use that move far more than the Dynamic Punch it practiced twice.
Before I'd somewhat balanced things by allowing unlimited moves, but with half the in-game PP (base PP rounded down)
So a move like Fire Blast would only be used twice before the Pokemon was too tired to use that move again. It allowed a variety of moves but with limited ammo. You wouldn't be able to spam strong moves.
Basicly copied Shiro for here and gotta start in Sinnoh, I guess
Name: Shiro Coldpowder
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Trainer Class (What goal do you have in mind for your character? Contests/Battler/Breeder/etc.): Researcher and Trainer
Physical Appearance: being around 5'8 tall, with a fairly pale skin and black, curly and messy hair. He also got a silver, almost white eyes.
Clothing: (Optional) Various
Personality: Although a bit shy and usually keeps distance unless you are a very good friend or his pokemon. He is however a very kind person, like his pokemon, a bit of clumsy and always is extra careful with his research. He mainly tries to understand the changes in the pokemon if they can be in any way cured. He also tends to have a good observation skill as he is great at analyzing things. He also tends to take part in pokemon battles as hobby and take gym challanges to get in more dangerous parts of regions and learn more about the phenomenom that affects pokemon.
Backstory: TBA
Starter: Cubchoo named Glacier
Name: Glacier
Species: Cubchoo
Gender: Male
Ability: Slush Rush
Nature: Naive
Characteristic: Glacier is kind of clumsy, a bit of a shy cubchoo that is very dependable on Shiro. At the same time he loves his trainer and tends to cuddle to him often, making sure his snot doesn't touch his trainer though. If anyone tries to harm Shiro though, Glacier is ready to show his strenght and protect Shiro from any opponent.
Appearance: Looks like a normal cubchoo, that wears a green scarf around his neck that was brought to him by Shiro. (How much scarf not too cheap and not too expensive costs in the amazon? XD)
Moves: Growl, Icy Wind, Fury Swipes, Endure
Alrighto looks good, you can check Amazon for prices for the scarf. If you want to buy things in RP you can base price off their real-world equivalent in USD.

Either, A) No limit to the number of moves a Pokemon can keep, but limit the amount of PP for each move OR B) A Pokemon can only keep eight ( 8 ) moves but there's no limit to the amount of PP.

The advantage of option A is that people cannot spam powerful moves like Fire Blast, Thunder, etc... while in the unlimited pp version, option B, if someone sets up Hail and you have no way of getting rid of it, get ready to get hit by unlimited blizzards, or even worse, Rain combos will be broken af, considering Thunder and Hurricane can be spammed none stop. You got lucky and dodged thunder once? do it 100 more times :v
Ya most definitely — imma preface this by saying my focus rn is on finishing up my second character profile for this rp, and catching up on Superhero. Tomorrow I'm much more free to figure this all out and whatnot, but I do wanna float out off the top of my head:
RKT Poke Ball: $150; 1x catch rate modifier (or even .9x?), but a 1-in-50 chance to outright fail. So, essentially, if you buy 50 RKT Pokeballs, you save $2,500, *but* you're guaranteed at least *one* of those PokeBalls just...misfires.
Great Ball: $500; 1.2x catch rate modifier, a 1-in-100 chance to fail. Noticeably better than even a Silph Co Poke Ball, and thus twice as expensive — but noticeably worse than the Silph Co Great Ball slightly less expensive. Buying in bulk of 100 would save someone around $10,000, but again with the guarantee that at least *one* of those 100 fail.
(and so on, I'm sure the pattern I'm going for is apparent)
RKT Potion: $150; heals 15 HP instead of 20. Pretty straight forward.
Super Potion: $550; heals 40 HP.
Hyper Potion: $1000; heals 100 HP
RKT Repel: $275; keeps Pokemon away for 75 steps
Super Repel: $450; keeps Pokemon away for 150 steps
Max Repel: $775; keeps Pokemon away for 200 steps
Status Healing items, such as Antidote, Paralyze Heal, Burn Heal, etc. all have the same effect, except they are $150; outside of battle, they work the same. In battle, however, they don't heal status effects immediately; instead, the status condition remains for a little while longer, healing more naturally over time. In some instances, the status condition can worsen (slightly more poison damage, more attack reduction off burn, paralysis, etc.) before healing.
Anyway, that's what I have in mind. That started out simple, I started to get carried away lmao.
Physical Appearance: Audrey is a charming young woman with a slim figure, standing at around 5'2 in height, though adds a few inches with her heels. She has a pale complexion, though glamourises her look more with some makeup, pale on her cheeks and lips, but bold around her eyes.
Audrey has pale long blond hair with a slight wave to the left, falling to her lower back, and side-swept bangs, keeping her hair out of her pale blue eyes. Audrey generally can be found with a sweet smile on her face matching the sweetness she tries to convey, though this is often a facade masking her true thoughts and personality.
Clothing: As a girl who prides herself on always looking her best, Audrey is constantly tweaking her look and adjusting her style to better fit the trends of Kalos.
As it currently stands, Audrey goes for a preppy-chic feminine look, adorning herself in a flowy white blouse with a long flowy pink bow at the collar, tucked into a high-waisted pink pleated skirt, with thigh-high white socks, and a pair of pink lace-up heel ankle boots to give her a bit of extra height.
When it is colder, a beige open-front oversized cape coat will be added to the top of the look. Audrey can often be found wearing matching pearl earrings and bracelet, with a small flower charm dropped off, and may have a pair of sunglasses, a headband, or the occasional beret on her head.
This outfit may get changed up, but she always tries to look chic and presentable. During contests and performances, she wears an array of different dresses, including Furisodes from her native Kalos region.
Personality: Audrey's personality appears to be extremely sweet and caring, always coming across as polite and genuine to those around her. On stage and in performances, Audrey is very confidant, and energised, though carries and air of grace and sophistication in her performances that she prides herself on. Behind the sweetness however, is often someone who can be quite cunning and calculating.
Audrey is highly competitive, and will stop at nothing to be considered the best, particularly in her field, craving the spotlight and attention that comes from success in Pokemon Contests, performances, and battles.
Audrey does have the capacity to form genuine bonds and connections with people she meets, though she often has to get to know them, and be assured that they are not a rival, or at least someone who she feels threatened by. Regardless of her true intentions however, Audrey tends to mask them with sweet words of encouragement and a kind, cheery smile.
Backstory: Growing up in the wealthy upper-echelon of Kalos, Audrey was quite literally raised with a silver spoon in her mouth. Her father having been descended from one of the noble families of Kalos, not that many outside of the high society caring much about that anymore, owned a number of vineyards in the South of Kalos, while her mother was a well-revered artist. Audrey was taught to always be the best at what she put her mind to, but was told to always carry herself with an air of grace and dignity, befitting of her station. This mindset heavily influenced Audrey's personality, and has been something she has struggled with during her travels as she has found that most people do not necessarily feel the same way.
When she was 15, Audrey set out on a journey with her Pokemon, hoping to gain admiration and recognition as a star by becoming the Kalos Queen through the regions Pokemon Showcases. In her first year as a performer, Audrey bitterly won her way through the Rookie class tournament and made her way into the Pokemon Showcase Master Class, though faced a crushing defeat in the semi-finals by one of her former rivals, Adrienne Leroy, eliminating her from contention to become the Kalos Queen. Adrienne herself would then go on to lose against the reigning Kalos Queen.
The following year Audrey began challenging the Rookie Class Pokemon Showcases around Kalos with a renewed sense of confidence. Having witnessed Adrienne's loss to the reigning Kalos Queen, Audrey had convinced herself that her loss the prior year was a fluke, and that she was a shoe-in for the title the following year. However, despite again winning 3 Rookie Class showcases with flying colours, and beating all of the potential new contenders during the Master Class tournament, Audrey faced a crushing defeat during the finals against the reigning Kalos Queen, receiving just over a third of the amount of votes the reigning Queen had received.
While Audrey was crushed inside, and beside herself at her loss, on the outside she showed a very kind and sweet facade. Congratulating the reigning queen on retaining her title, and assuring the people of Kalos that she would try her best to show them a performance worthy of being considered their queen some day. However, when the next year rolled around, Audrey was nowhere to be seen on the Kalos Showcase circuit.
Having faced bitter defeat through vote at the hands of the Kalos people twice, Audrey found herself travelling to the Sinnoh region to challenge the Contest circuit. While Audrey didn't have nearly as much experience battling, she knew her two years of experience creating dazzling performances as a Performer would naturally lend themselves to allowing her to dominate the Appeals stage of the Sinnoh Contests, something that did often happen.
At the age of 17, after having made it through countless contests, facing her fair share of victories and defeats, Audrey found herself in the Top 4 of the Sinnoh Grand Festival, though unfortunately found herself losing in a narrow defeat at the hands of a newer rival, Hitomi Mori.
While crushed at her defeat, Audrey knew that the loss had been narrow, and knew that if she just refined her battle skills some more to get them up to scratch with her performance capabilities, she would be a shoe-in.
Training as hard as she could, and following her parents advice to always be the best at what she does, Audrey managed to win another 5 contests in the Hoenn region, making her way through the Grand Festival, and finaling coming out on top, being named the Top Coordinator of Hoenn for that year at the age of 18.
Revelling in her victory, Audrey begun a tour of Hoenn, and then eventually a number of other regions over the next two years, doing meet and greets and interviews where she was able to talk about her journey, show off some new appeals/performances, and enjoy the attention she felt she deserved, though always coming off as kind, gracious and humble to an outsider looking in.
However, two years on from her victory, and Audrey had felt her shine begin to wane. While she was still a minor celebrity, and was well-known for her dazzling performances, she was just the one of many Top Coordinators having won the ribbon cup, in one of many regions holding Pokemon Contests.
While Audrey still made good money touring and putting on shows, judging contests and giving master classes on performance from time to time, as well as becoming relatively well known through her Pokevision videos, and her sponsored advertisements and brand deals, Audrey realised that while she may have been the best in Hoenn that year, that she couldn't truly be considered the best at what she does.
As a result, Audrey made a decision. While she would continue to travel and do some brand deals, and judging here and there, Audrey would have two major focuses moving forward.
1) Working her way up in the World Coronation Series, showing off the battling skills she had developed as a Top Coordinator, a way to introduce herself to an even wider audience of people.
2) Returning where it all began in Kalos and reviving her original goal. Becoming the ONE reigning Kalos Queen.

A few hours passed for Charade, as he had to go straight to work making more pamphlets for his organization...as well as doing many chores to make up for the money he had spent. Stashing his pamphlets in his bag, he marched towards the door.
"MOM! I'm going out!" He called out.
"Did you take out the trash??" The stern voice answered.
"YES! I did!"
"And the-"
"Everything is done MOM! SHEESH!"
"Don't get into trouble now!"
"THATS WHAT VILLAINS DO MOM!"
"Be safe!"
"UGH! I KNOW!"
"Love you, be careful!"
"LOVE YOU TOO!"
Then Charade slammed to door evily, but also soft enough not to get into trouble. He had gotten off easier this time...perhaps it was a sign of good fortune! But there still lies the question...where would he spread his evil to?
Azalea town? Team rocket took that before! ...but it's just filled with old people. What old geezer would join his cause? BAH! ...Ruins of Alph? There's no one there except boring history nerds and creeps! Pass!
Goldenrod city...yes...yes! That's where team rocket took over in the past! If they could do that, surely he could do something big there too! All those people...surely there are people to embrace villainy! But it was a little bit aways...Route 36 would be the route he's gotta take to get there the fastest.
"Croagunk my dear grunt, we have our heinous heading!" Charade proclaimed with a pose. "Goldenrod city shall taste our evildoer motives and shall be the greatest birthplace of our villainous organization to prosper! And observe!"
He whipped out his pamphlets he made to his Croagunk. They were somewhat crude, scribbled on with somewhat Legible handwriting and picture of locations taped to it haphazardly alongside a drawing of Charade himself.
"Official Crimson Crew enrollment papers! Each one hand made from scratch!" He announced before cupping his hands in mid whisper. "That's how you know that we put a lot of heart in it~"
The croagunk cheered at the idea, seemingly absentminded about the thought that it may not even work, or how shoddy the craftsmanship was. Charade stashed the papers away as held a determined snicker.
"So let us go! So many innocent people to corrupt to the side of villainy!"
Aldon was at the pokécenter in Violet City, its where his pokémon adventuring had led him to. He had previously travelled across Kanto, and was heading to Johto. The next place he had in mind to visit was the Alph Ruins. Skol by his side, he decided to call his father and tell him about his future trip. Aldon was pretty excited about visiting the ruins. He called his dad to tell him the news. Aldebaran Charlton was Aldon's father, and one of the more prominent archeologists in Alola.
"So we just arrived in Violet City" Aldon said.
"Ugh huh" Aldebaran said.
"And we were just about to head to the Aph Ruins" Aldon said.
The Alph Ruins... I know I told you my story of visiting the Alph Ruins years ago, haven't I?" Aldebaran said.
"At least a thousand times, and I love it! I wanna see those unknowns too! I wanna read the symbols and stuff!" Aldon said.
"Have you contacted your mentor, yet? Err..." Aldebaran asked.
"Ezio" Aldon said.
"Right right, you should probably do that as well. I need to leave for work. Call me again tonight, will ya?" Aldebaran said.

ig if i gotta be a tie-breaker again then I'll throw in w/ B, cuz i think a move limit forces you to be more creative through self-restriction and strategy; personally, i'd have even gotten behind full, gameset restrictions (4 moves, limited PP), but i understand why this is likely not the most popular ideology out there lmao.

Physical Appearance: Regina has long blonde hair with purple dyed ends tied up into a ponytail, tanned skin, a stud in her left nostril, a septum piercing and studs in her ears. She stands at 5'8 or 172 cm and has a tattoo of a Seviper wrapped around a knife on her lower left arm. She has beginning muscle definitions visible on her arms and legs, as a result of her life style.
Clothing: Regina wears a pair of denim overalls with a black shirt. She wears sturdy brown hiking boots and has a black and yellow backpack.
Personality: Regina is quick to jump into action, unafraid to get hurt yet not quite reckless. She lives for the thrill and is always up for anything wild, much to the dismay of her parents. Not really one for manners, Regina wears her heart on her sleeve and has a tendency to be pretty blunt when speaking. That being said, she won't try and offend people without a reason. Said reason doesn't mean much though, as she can find a reason to insult someone pretty fast.
Backstory: Being born in Fallarbor Town in the Hoenn region, Regina spent her days swimming in rivers, scaling cliffs and getting covered in soot. As she got older and more rebellious, her parents allowed her to have a Pokémon in the hopes she would catch a cute Spinda or Swablu and that she would mellow out. After all, Skarmory were way too rare and Lombre and Nuzleaf did not suit her tastes. Unfortunately for her parents, Regina had a clear vision of her first Pokémon. A Seviper that she frequently sought out that slowly started to get used to the girl observing her. The Seviper did not mellow her out, instead the two seemed to rile each other up even further before Regina's parents finally had enough and sent the girl on a journey.
Starter: Seviper (Protobothrops, Proto for short)
Proto is Regina's first Pokémon and is not a snake to pet without wearing gloves, being incredibly defensive around people and Pokémon she doesn't know. The generational bloodfeud between Seviper and Zangoose lives strong in Proto, any combination of white and red or anything that remotely looks close to a Zangoose has her swinging her tail and hissing furiously. Even Regina has to respect her boundaries, although she can handle this danger noodle more than strangers are allowed to.
