A small flying object moved around in the clear sunny sky, said object was followed by a young woman with a pair of headphones on her head and a blue duck like pokemon. The object happened to be a small drone currently being piloted by the Rotom inside it, it took advantage of its free mobility to survey the area on Route 7. The young woman's eyes were locked on the drone but soon turned to her side, observing the long river that flowed alongside the road. On the other side, the field was lined with countless colorful flowers, many artists with their respective stations worked tirelessly to capture the beautiful sights on their canvas. "This place sure is pretty, what do you think Vallace?" She asked the short blue shape walking alongside her. Being a water type, the Quaxwell was much more focused on the river than the field. Even so, he still agreed with his trainer's notion about the route's pleasant looks, letting out a positive chirp and nodding his head. However, the pokemon and trainer pair were not here for simple sightseeing.

"The locals were kind enough to point us to this location, I guess it's worth checking out." The Rotom drone flew down and landed on the girl's open palm, just as the small group arrived in front of a very large and imposing castle structure. "The Battle Chateau as they called it, this lace sure looks the part." The girl commented as she began walking onto the premises. "From what we were told, this castle has existed for hundreds of years and has been turned into a popular gathering spot for trainers of all levels so it should be interesting." She began, shooting a few looks at her pokemon as she spoke. "They did also mention some sort of entrance fee if I didn't have any outstanding accomplishments, hopefully it won't cost too much." She added in a lower tone. The Rotom and Quaxwell shot a look at one another before simply shrugging.

The pain came swiftly—sharp but fleeting. Esther hissed and nursed the broken skin along her fingers. Lesson learned. Houndour’s fangs were as sharp as they looked, they pierced skin like it was paper mâché. It then spoke all the louder that not a single droplet of blood had been spilled. Well, not Esther’s blood. As for Houndour’s blood… The Oblivian winced at her own bloodstained clothes. When was the last time a battle had gotten this intense? In Galar?

Esther looked down at Houndour, the she-wolf had taken her chance to escape the trainer’s embrace and now she nursed her own wounds with gentle licks. They’d been together for nearly a month, so sometimes the facts escaped Esther. Houndour was technically still a wild pokémon and she had to be given her space. “Okay fair, I deserved that. I got a bit too excited, I’m sorry.”

The Dark Pokémon regarded the trainer with characteristic impassivity. A moment passed then she nodded, apology accepted. At that, Esther relaxed and turned to Monty.

“I’m fine, none of this is mine but…yea. I think we’re gonna head over to whatever medical facilities they have and—” Houndour barked, and Esther startled. A low, threatening growl expressed exactly what she thought about the Chateau’s medical center. The Oblivian kept a tentative eye on Houndour. “Oookay, then I guess we’re not going...?” That was apparently the right answer because Houndour settled down and returned to its wounds.

Esther worked her jaw. It looked like Houndour’s distaste for other humans was still going strong. Tricky, tricky…

"Oh no no no no no..."

Desmond seemed petrified at what had just happened, guy wanted to just avoid a run in with an angry Aggron, now he had somehow managed to "luck" his way to a capture of a Mimikyu. Course luck was relative as while most trainers would've jumped for joy at this development Desmond already had enough issues being around the average Pokemon let alone a ghost within the false skin of another like Mimikyu had been!

Desmond had been in a pickle, he could release the thing as he never intended to capture it in the first place, but as that thought entered the Mimikyu seemed to pop out of the Pokeball and looked upon Desmond as those eyeholes on the "chest" of it seemed to look upon with interest as Desmond seemed to sweat drop.

"L-listen uh, there seems to be a misunderstanding here..." Desmond said as he tried to explain why it is best it leave as he seemed to avoid eye contact, before he felt something brush on his leg. Desmond glanced down and seemed to see the Mimikyu cuddle sweetly against his leg as it seemed to sense he had been in distress and tried to ease him a bit.

"WAAAAHHHHHH ALDON HELP ME!"

For all the good that had done, as Desmond panicked and just began to run out of the zone. The Mimikyu, bless its, soul, considered this a game and happy had began to chase after Desmond as the newfound Trainer & Partner raced out of the Ghost Area into the heart of the Safari Zone.

As Aldon made his way past brush, over shrubs, around bushes and beneath low hanging branches, he went aipom and began climbing a fairly large tree. Hopefully aggron was stupid and wouldn't notice him. Though it would go to say the least, he heard a voice call his name.

"Aldon to the rescuuuUUUEE!!" His voice cracked as he lunged downward from the tree. His shirt snagged on a branch causing him to slide out instantly. Landing mere inches away from Deamond. A few twigs were lodged in his hair. He let out a bellowing roar.

"RAAAAAAAHHH!!! HMMMiurrghhghmbakrackadahumhmhm!" A roar turned coughing and hacking as he choked on his own spit. Quickly pulling twigs from his hair, he glanced up then jumped. Grabbing his shirt, he slid it back on. He turned and looked at Desmond with a calm almost deadpan expression. The mimikyu immidiatly grabbed his interest.

"Who's this adorable lil baby you got here" He said clearly referencing the pokémon with him.

"Good luck with..." The Kalosian eyed Esther's battered canine warily. "...that. I have to get Oracle fixed up, though."

Monty turned away to follow the maid, feeling off-put by the bloody Houndour behind him. He'd seen it plenty of times, sure, but only once had he seen it battle. The mutt couldn't be more different from Chauffemagne; the moves, the battle style, the personality and the disposition. One look at the way it operated confirmed everything that Esther had said about it until then— it was still wild.

The criminal and the maid's steps echoed off the stone corridor, and the memory of the former's encounter with the Houndour pack reverberated in his mind. So close to death, and that little monster was closer to the Houndoom in sheer ferocity than Chauffemagne was. In fact, Esther's mutt had a one up on the Houndoom—defeating Oracle.

The thought sent a chill down his spine, and Monty muttered a curse that the maid thankfully didn't pick up on. 'Reversal' and 'Counter'...what else was the thing capable of?

The maid led her thought-lost charge out of the arena and back into the main lobby, then took a right through another ornate archway into one of the most sophisticated medical facilities Monty had ever stepped foot in. "Here we are," she announced, giving a lab-coat sporting doctor a nod. "Our facility is as advanced as any Pokémon Center's. I'll turn you over to the nurse, now."

The criminal whistled as he admired the technology. Was this what it looked like behind the Nurse Joy counter? He had a quick conversation with the nurse, detailing the battle and the damage Oracle took, and in less than a minute the Absol was hooked up to all sorts of gadgets and gizmos that Monty didn't recognize but figured would do their job.

At least, he hoped they would. Monty hadn't seen Oracle in this condition since...shit, he'd never seen her down for the count. He stood by the side of the glass case that held her sleeping form, and Abné peered down at her. Both were thinking the same thing; "Get up soon."

"Oh well you have quite a collection of Pokemon." Reina watched the dragon Pokemon do as he pleased. "Hey listen miss, not to be mean or anything..." Reina sighed and looked away. "I'm kind of trying to have some alone time, so if you don't mind..." She trailed off hoping Emma would catch her drift.

Diva wasn't impressed by the show of Pokemon, instead she rather be alone with her best friend in the world, listening to My Chemical Romance or Juan Gabriel.

Azumi "Why does your search history have the word stuck?" Towers, July 6th, Route 7 Battle Chateu.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. For a trainer, that record might not be good enough, but for Azumi, it meant there was more to learn. The Battle Chateu, home to those with class and battle skills, was a common training place for the future cop. The battles were top notch and the service was just as great. After a close combat and losing to a popular Fairy gym leader, Azumi made her way to the healing facilities.

The young blonde smiled to a maid that was on her way out as she stepped in, the fresh air and the smell of clean floors was always a welcome to Azumi's senses. She made her way to the receptionist, depositing her Pokeballs in a basket to have them get some rest and a spa treatment while Azumi took a break. While she made her way across the lobby to the closest vending machine to get a soft drink, she couldn't help but notice a familiar figure down the hall.

"Monsieur Monty?" Azumi said as she approached the young man. "Oh how nice to see you here! Did you join the club? I'm impressed, they're usually very picky with strangers." Her blue eyes drifted quickly to the unconscious Absol. "Oh no, is that Oracle? Monsieur! Where you pushing her too hard? Pokemon aren't tools of war you know!" The scolding came from the bottom of her heart, how could someone push their partners to such limits? "Shame on you!"

"The door was unlocked so I guess it should be fine to walk in here." The black haired young woman said out loud as the small group made their ways inside the castle. Taking a look around, the interior of the establishment was just as grand as its outer walls might suggest. The vibrant red marble design covering the floor, walls lined by many artistic paintings, lights made to look like candlesticks decorating the halls, all of this made the girl feel like she was setting foot in a different time period. As she walked, the girl lowered her headphones down to her neck and readjusted her blocky glasses. "Wow, this place really is a real castle." She commented. Shortly after entering the premises, the young woman's Rotom had left the drone it once possessed so the girl quickly folded the device into a compact cube before putting it into her shoulder bag.

“How was your first drive of the drone by the way, Wattz? You looked like you had a lot of fun flying around earlier.” She asked her pokemon. The Rotom’s reply was very positive, the Plasma pokemon began buzzing with glee as it excitedly flew around, a bit too excitedly one may say. So much so that the Electric Ghost type Pokemon began flying off at amazing speeds down the hall of the castle. "Hey wait where are you going? Wattz!" Seeing her pokemon suddenly fly away, the girl quickly gave chase.

The girl dashed down the hallways of the castle as she chased after her pokemon. However, she was lagging well behind due to both not being a near weightless being made of plasma and her bag weighing her down. As such, she had to come up with a different approach. She needed to think of something fast too as appearing from further down the hall, the shapes of other individuals began coming into view. The girl pulled out her phone and winded up for a throw. "Hey Wattz! Over here!" She shouted before launching her phone through the air towards the runaway Rotom. Hearing the call, the Rotom turned around to see the mobile device traveling through the air towards it. As soon as it saw this, the Plasma pokemon instantly stopped its path and made an instant turn back towards the piece of technology, entering it and becoming a Rotom phone.

Finally catching up to her pokemon, the young woman was out of breath. She pushed down on her knees, keeping herself from falling over as she recovered. "Hah... Wattz... Don't do that again... please." She let out between breaths. The Rotom, for what it's worth, did look sorry for not considering its trainer's feelings before flying off like that. It flew around the black haired girl in phone form, preparing to catch her if she suddenly fell over. "It's okay, I'm fine. I'm not going to fall over from a short run like that." The trainer reassured her pokemon as she pushed herself back upright.

Interactions: Theo Hightower (Sir Krazz), Johnathan (Red Gallade), Esther Sophys via message (kyuukestu), Ron Towers via message (Hecotoro)

Theo needed to realize that the Pokemon world was going to be dangerous, and that nearly dying was a normal part of a Pokemon adventure. Almost every trainer had at least one, or even two, near-death experiences, and those unlucky dozens end up having more than five near-death experiences. The older one was and the more they adventured, the more dangers they'll stumble across, even if they were careful to avoid them and stayed close to the cities from the adjacent routes.

She wasn't even going to mention Galar's Wild Area to Theo. He'll figure that out on his own.

His analogy to the Pokemon Center healing had made Naka laugh, and even more so when he wanted to get into the medical field. Ohhh... The machine healed major status effects (like burns, poisons, freeze, paralysis, and involuntary sleep), major exhaustion - physically, elementally, or spiritually - and minor to moderate injuries. Severe injuries and elemental-based sicknesses (like an Electric-Type being overcharged or undercharged) had to be handled outside of the machine as it couldn't heal those. Those were mostly biological issues or were far beyond the scope of energy healing. He'd be seeing a lot more reasons to stay away from adventuring if he even attempted the medical field.

Theo asked if she should look for a Psychic-Type instead, and she smirked at his teasing, but still answering his quip seriously. "I want a Grass one to calm me down. I'll show you my catches when we get out of here in..." She looked at her watch. "An hour. Anyway, see ya."

With that, she left Theo and Johnathan to head towards the mountain surrounded by forestry. It was neighbors to the watering hole the two men were going to, so she was sure they'll be fine and - if not - she can just come down and help. Given it didn't take her too long.

About ten minutes in, she met the base of the mountain and found the forested part here very thick. This wasn't the proper area for a Chikorita. However, as she was walking here, she saw a huge thick chasm cutting into the mountainside, so she went there.

Inside, she saw the most beautiful grove. Lush, green grass dotted with pretty flowers. The mountain's river from the mountain summit's lake, after passing through several cavern systems from the ground due to pressure and interesting physics, led to a waterfall down to the plains, which had a river cut through the field and led back into a set of caverns into the mountain again. Naka only wondered if there were water treatment areas throughout the mountain, as some parts of the Safari Zone - while attempts at trying to keep it as natural as possible - had to have some man-made features and were created by man to accommodate other Pokemon.

As she walked through to beautiful, flowery plains, she finally saw the Pokemon she wanted.

Of course, against her bright, fair skin that was a bit red from the Tauros's fire and the sun's rays, the Chikorita - who was playing with a Mienfoo near a cave entrance that led up the mountain - saw her. He darted up the cavern at the Mienfoo's behest, and Naka went after the two of them at a running start.

Zubat and Golbat dove towards Naka, but were batted away by her hands and were unable to catch her as she zig-zagged. Pulling out earplugs, she plugged them into her ears to avoid getting absolutely destroyed by Supersonics. While it did affect her balance due to the vibrations that tickled the cochlear portions of her ears - which regulated balance - the sound didn't cause her ears to bleed so she was able to ignore a little of the balance-skewing soundwaves.

She jumped over Aron, dove out of the way of an Aggron's tail, avoided the rock throw of a Larvitar, and she was so so close. Only for the Mienfoo to grab the lagging Chikorita, put him on her back, and continue even faster than before, dodging up and out of a small hole to the surface of the mountainside. Seeing them go up via the direction of their shadow's disappearance, Naka only knew they went to the summit. The hole was too small for her to travel through and, even if she could, she didn't have the spryness of a Mienfoo to get up there.

This led her to believe that the Mienfoo was close to evolving. She was bigger than normal; the red fur around her arms, her whiskers, and her tail were longer than normal; and even her color palette was changing slightly. The yellow and red hairs were gaining a lighter complexion, but it didn't fully turn into a greyish purple. There were even slight claw marks from the growing claws on her feet that dug into the cavern flooring and walls to allow her to jump into the hole and carry her friend to safety.

If Naka didn't do this correctly, she was going to have to face a Mienshao, and she knew she was going to be in a world of hurt if that happened.

However, as she finally left the sprawling, ascending caverns and found her way to the summit - a mausoleum-styled temple and concrete flooring stood around a moat - she found herself in the midst of Fighting-Types. Fighting-Types she was more than knowledgeable in, and not for what they were, but their movements. The evolutionary lines of Machop, Tyrogue, Torchic, Makuhita, Meditite, Chimchar, Riolu, Tepig, Timburr, Scraggy, Mienfoo, and Jangmo-o, and that of Hawlucha and Falinks.

In the middle of the large grouping, the Mienfoo stood with the Chikorita behind her, and spoke in yips and hisses. Naka had no idea what the Fighting-Type was saying, but she figured it was a warning from capturing her friend. She figured the two didn't want to be captured at all, and considering that Chikorita was a starter Pokemon, usually sought after for their healing and calming capabilities as well as their nurturing plant powers and myriad of spores, there likely was a very good reason the Mienfoo didn't want to lose this one.

After getting her breath back and sensing the tension in the air as the Fighting-Types stared at her, she held up her hands, pulling out the earplugs. "Look, if you want to come along so you may make sure your friend is safe, you can. But I'm in dire need of spiritual help." She looked at the Lucario of the group and extended a skyward open palm gesture. The bipedal jackal stood defensively, but noticed by her aura she did not mean any harm. "See for yourself and talk amongst yourselves if you'd like. I've been blessed by the jewel of the sea after proving my Pokemon's mettle and my strategy in combat, but the blessing is more of a curse. The Pokemon of water affect my emotions and spirit, so much so I can't even tell if it's my own or theirs." Her voice held sincerity, but the Fighting-Types' defensiveness did not waver. "Come and see if I'm lying."

The Lucario grunted, then came forward. Knowing Fighting-Types, they were mostly structured monks or held some kind of code that was built around honor and respect through strength and discipline. She had to follow by their rules if she were to get help. As the Lucario came close, the jackal's hair-like extensions lifted from their resting place on the sides of his head and stood up in horizontal lines, his eyes glowing a bright blue as the hair extensions jittered and glowed with the same color. Naka felt her body was being seen right through into her soul from his gaze, but did not waver, showing an iron will to the intrusion she allowed.

With a bark, the Fighting-Types looked amongst each other. There was understanding in their eyes, and while they didn't stop being wary, their defensive stances did shift to more neutral poses. The Lucario looked between the Mienfoo and Naka, then sent Naka an aura-based message. Fear. Anger. Worry.

These were the emotions the Mienfoo was feeling, no doubt. Maybe even exacerbated due to the Chikorita's own mirrored emotions, too.

Naka looked back at the Mienfoo, sighing as she relaxed her hands at her sides. "I'm sorry. But I really do need your friend's help. Are there any other Chikoritas?"

The Mienfoo's defensive posture turned into a more cautious stance as she regarded her. Then, she shook her head.

This was the last Chikorita in the mountain's grotto, and Naka's eyes widened. The surprise and worry was felt by the Lucario, who relaxed his own aura to release a sense of calm to the others. She was okay. She was an understanding, reasonable human.

Naka sighed and looked at the Mienfoo, a daring glint in her eye. "How about this: You and I fight to see if I can not only prove myself to you, but as competition? If I win, I take you both with me. If I lose, you two get to stay, and I can find some other help some other time or I can come back and fight for your respect and permission again."

The Mienfoo's eyes glared at Naka, but they held much less venom. The Fighting-Types looked amongst each other and began to create muscle-bound boundaries with their bodies, standing in a large circle. The Lucario stared at the human, confusion imminent on his face. Humans against a Fighting-Type? They were capable of shattering large boulders, much less breaking bones, and the strength of this Mienfoo was not to be underestimated. But if this human thinks she can beat the Mienfoo, he wasn't one to underestimate the human's ability either. But, he still cast a doubt laden aura message towards her, expressing a warning to her and reassurance.

Naka didn't know what, but she assumed that if she were too injured, one of their own would take her to the Safari Zone's entrance. She also felt restraint from the Lucario, and his gaze to the Mienfoo clued her in that the Mienfoo was to be restrained in the fight. By what, Naka could only figure it was to do with using actual Pokemon moves.

The Chikorita bounced towards their end of the circle, getting herself between a Falinks and a Scrafty as she watched on with worry, hoping the human didn't get too injured while she rooted for her dear friend.

Naka calmed herself and put the ear plugs back in her pockets, her body aching from the run over here and the bucking bronco she rode previously. Then, her feet shifted smoothly across the tiled concrete flooring, her body leaning forward with hands in front of her, knees bent at a near right angle. There were approving grunts from the Makuhita and Hariyama side. She was using their style of fighting, one they were pretty familiar with but figured she was leaning too much forward, figuring her sense of balance would be too skewed forward and she'd go down quickly.

The Mienfoo saw this too and rushed forward, jumping above Naka to land a kick from above to her back. The fox then saw her move smoothly and change direction in one fell swoop, spinning on her back and twisting about to land right back on her feet. The agility of this human was rather impressive, and if the scars she showed proudly across her body was anything to show for, then it was likely she's been in plenty of fights.

With that thought, the Mienfoo charged, then skipped to both sides quickly, becoming a blur that Naka couldn't focus on with her eyes. However, her ears still worked. Closing her eyes, she heard a stone scuffing sound that sounded different from the other side lunge scuffing. Feeling a presence to her right, she rolled forward again and swung her legs in the air, sending the Mienfoo to the ground, but she rolled right back up right as Naka stopped spinning by doing a handstand and then standing upright, the Pokemon realizing she was copying a Hitmontop's fighting style.

Her stance changed to one of a jumping, shifting stance that had her limbs focus on being fast and loose, similar to how an Infernape would act. The Pokemon looked at this human strangely. Considering sumo wrestlers were a thing, they thought the human was copying from her people's bastardized styles, but no she was copying their own. A human taking the fighting stances and styles while trying to copy their own Pokemon attacks in this fight.

Some considered her attempt at mimicry too much, as if she was trying too hard to be like them, while others considered mimicry a form of flattery, and respected her more for it.

This Mienfoo only saw the mimicry as an obstacle, but couldn't help but feel like she should give this human some level of respect. And by that, she was going to treat the human like she would treat the other Pokemon. She had to be equal, of course.

The Mienfoo went to trade blows with Naka, getting up close and personal as she fired off a series of punches, jabs, and kicks. Naka, for the most part, kept herself moving and bouncing around, angling away and twirling to dodge the more seemingly bone-breaking blows while going with a quick jab or low kick due to the Pokemon's height. While Mienfoo were normally barely three feet tall and Mienshao were a little over four and a half feet, this one was about four feet tall. Of course, that meant nothing because the Mienfoo was far faster than her, far more agile. It was clear that this one had been training for some time, and was testing her.

The Fighting-Type did a roundhouse kick, which Naka instinctively blocked with her upper arm and immediately regretted it. She winced in pain, grunted, and gritted her teeth as the attack landed, her humerus bone feeling like she just got stabbed there. She probably just incurred a fracture, but she was still able to move it. A bark from the Lucario and the Mienfoo switched gears. Naka caught the message.

Pain? Was it pain under duress? Were they trying to rattle her?

Claws of shining Normal-Type energy flexed out of the Fighting-Type's paws and she danced and twirled with grace and speed, slicing the human's skin and summer clothes until they were nothing but rags hiding the needed parts of her. The human's skin trickled with blood from her arms, stomach, chest, and legs, but she continued to stay standing and fight regardless, even somehow ducking from a rather nasty Fury Swipe attack aimed at her face to give the creature an uppercut, modeled after the Pokemon move Sky Uppercut.

The Mienfoo flew high from the impact, and as the creature descended, Naka jumped forward onto the ground and pushed off with all her might (even as her arm screamed at her to stop and she wasn't even using that arm that much), rushed the Mienfoo down with an axe kick similar to their Pokemon-styled Axe Kicks and sent the creature into the slabs with a thump accompanied by the scared squeak of the Chikorita. While the human's momentum was swift and did some damage to the bipedal fox, it didn't break the slab concrete the Pokemon were used to doing themselves.

Retracting her leg so as to not accidentally hit the ground with it and hyperextend her knee, Naka stood back up and watched the Mienfoo warily, her movements becoming relaxed yet still like a statue, her hands up to her face. This was a style similar to that of two Pokemon, with the boxing stance from Hitmonchan and the stoic stance of the Machop line. Well, to a degree.

Naka was getting tired. She didn't think she'd last very long. But as the Mienfoo stood back up, her body lit up with a shine. The Fighting-Type's body changed before Naka's very eyes, and as the light dissipated, Naka felt the pit in her stomach deepen. The creature before her was a bigger-than-normal Mienshao. It was five feet tall, just several inches shorter than her.

The Mienshao proceeded to do a slew of movements. First, she closed her eyes and focused her body, her side facing Naka as she threw her arms out, the hair-like whips getting dangerously close from Naka, then kicked out as she swung to the other side with her arms into the air before crouching and sending her arms out the same way she did earlier, the whips almost hitting Naka if she hadn't leaned back.

Then, it was as if the creature was flowing like water and air, the creatures movements becoming difficult to follow as she used Shaolin Kung Fu and the whip-like hairs on her arms danced out and snapped the air with cracks. Naka dodged what she could, but getting hit by the hair stung her skin and burned them red. She lunged forward as she found an opening, or so she thought. Unfortunately, the creature immediately took her jab with grace, moving her arm out of the way as she dodged seamlessly to the side, and the two traded blows, moving each other's arms and trying to trip the other as Naka tried her best to copy the Mienshao's movements, something she was succeeding at more and more, even as she had to use her other, uninjured arm to cover for her throbbing upper arm.

However, the Mienshao's moves got faster and faster as she continued, and Naka couldn't keep up anymore. She was then suddenly pummeled by a flurry of punches and was sent back with a kick and then forced onto her back with a whip to her chest.

Body sore, Naka rolled around and back until she was on her feet, her body bloodied and bruised, her arm likely fractured, but she still looked on with no waver in her spirit. The Mienshao lunged closer to continue her onslaught, with Naka rolling with the punches and kicks as best she could and even got a few hits of her own in. This woman was strong, strong enough to cause the Mienshao to actually wince from the blows dealt. However, the Pokemon - being a Pokemon who trained all her life - overpowered Naka and managed to get her in a hold, her whip-like hair wrapped around a leg, grabbed Naka's already damaged arm, and sent her to the ground using her body's weight against her with a pivot.

However, Naka grunted with strain, pain, and effort as she pulled her arm out of the grab and spun her body around to grab the Pokemon with her legs and went to move the Pokemon's own body against her own weight with a pivot she managed with her hands, putting most of the weight on her uninjured arm. However, the Pokemon intelligently got out of the hold, not wishing to be smashed into the ground.

It was clear this human had much to learn. The Lucario, sensing what the Mienshao wanted, barked at Naka and sent a stream of aura to help her understand.

Endurance.

Did she already prove her strength? It seemed like this whole battle was a test instead of competition. Naka stood ready, even as the Mienshao got into a different stance this time and kept her distance. A blue orb began to form between her paws, and Naka's eyes widened.

They were going to pelt her with an Aura Sphere???

Putting her arms in a close, vertically parallel block across her torso with her fists blocking the underside of her face, she stood at ready. The Mienshao sent an Aura Sphere at the human, the blue sphere of pure aura energy hitting her arms and sent her body skidding back, but she held her ground.

However, it wasn't the physical pain that hurt the most, it was her soul. The very substance - spiritual or otherwise - that holds or emits aura based on her vitality and/or her soul's sound state, depending on whatever theory one came up with, reverberated painfully. Her emotions felt the turmoil, fear, and anger within that sphere. It wasn't as strong as it could've been if the Mienshao's mind wasn't so clouded with emotion, but maybe that was intentional. The Mienshao didn't want to kill her after all.

Aura Sphere worked by taking aura from the soul, the being's life force or both, and it gets stronger the more sound the body and mind are to produce a sound soul, and the soul needs to be at least aligned with the body and mind to even allow them to be sound in the first place. Some Pokemon - like Lucario - gain more strength the more pain they undergo, their pain causing their souls to reach a higher zen state that made their states more sound to allow a greater concentration on their inner self and make their aura-based attacks even stronger, and if their goal and aura state aligns with that of a trainer who also trained in aura or were aura sensitive, they can gain greater control of their aura from their trainer - not unlike those with Battle Bond.

Due to the Mienshao's need to protect the only Chikorita of the Fighting-Type's mountain's flowery grove and the fear of being taken from her home or being separated from her friend, the Mienshao let her emotions seep into her aura and gave her Aura Sphere impurities to make it weaker on purpose.

This Mienshao was impressed by Naka's mettle, and the Lucario proved to be an impartial referee, watching the state of Naka's soul throughout the fight and giving the Mienshao its thoughts.

This human had a very strong soul, one that was not so easily wavered, even in the midst of pain and potential severe injury. And even as the Aura Sphere tried to destabilize Naka's own aura, it held strong and nearly still. Her concentration, her will, was exceptionally tough, and so was her body.

To see a human so strong-willed, it was interesting why she needed the aid of a Chikorita. Was the emotional cluttering of water Pokemon that destructive to her will?

Naka took in a deep breath through her teeth, and her eyes stared at the Mienshao with a hardened gaze, her feet sliding across the ground as she stepped back to where she was, ready to take another. The Fighting-Type fox was taken aback. She was definitely trained by Fighting-Types. Even in the midst of a fight where her life was in danger, she still never backed down.

The Mienshao hated it, but she actually was starting to respect this human more and more. She had what it took to be strong both mentally and physically, had an iron will, was agile for a human, and adapted to her movements, even as the fox evolved. Better yet, she respected their code of honor and respect, showing fairness despite being at a biological disadvantage.

But it just made the Mienshao more frustrated.

She had to prove herself to the group she lived within. She worked so hard, only to be bested by some newbie human who couldn't even shroud her attacks in the same energy as a Pokemon... How dare she mimic them. To hell with her feeble attempt at respect and honor! She should be punished! But, she must remember to be calm within her rage, use her anger as a tool instead of being consumed by it. Otherwise, she'd disappoint the clans she lived with.

The tension in the air changed, and the next Aura Sphere had more impurities as it was sent forth. The human was sent back, her arms stung, her will threatened to shatter from the hatred and anger the Mienshao let loose. Yet, she hung true, her body skidding back but she remained standing. The Chikorita, knowing this was wrong, lunged to the two and cooed loudly to get them to stop fighting. Yet, the Mienshao didn't let up. It didn't even think she heard. She sent forth more weak Aura Spheres at a quick rate. The third and fourth Aura Spheres would have connected if the Chikorita did not stand between the two fighters, sending forth a shining wall of light that completely blocked the Aura Spheres from reaching Naka, taking the attacks head on and being sent back towards Naka. Still, she stood up like a faux Fighting-Type, albeit with struggling legs.

Horrified at what she did, the Mienshao bowed her head in shame, but the bark from the Lucario had her lifting her head in confusion. It seemed the two deliberated for some time, but the look of intrigue on the Mienshao's face had Naka questioning what was going on. Then, she felt the intended message from the Lucario.

Water.

They wanted her to test if her bearing held true? Why not do this earlier? Was it to assess how bad her aura was?

Probably, but now wasn't the best idea. Still, before she could even get out a retort, she felt the sudden feeling to stand up straight and flex her arms. She stood up straight, but fought the urge to flex her arms, knowing it'll really hurt her injured arm if she tried. She looked over to see a Poliwrath standing just several feet from her, having come from the moat around the temple. The Poliwrath channeled some emotion, making Naka feel... Inquisitive? No, confusion, surprise. The feeling indicative of respect filled her, and then sadness. Sad?

Before Naka could stop, her eyes misted up, almost tearing up as the Poliwrath also teared up. Loss. Grief. Pain.

A bark from the Lucario had the Poliwrath stop, and he walked away. The Lucario had sensed Naka's aura, seeing her waters, which were still before despite the emotions from the anger-laden Aura Spheres from the Mienshao, had made her metaphorical waters murky and stirred with greater force. It hurt Naka, and he sensed it. He felt pity for her.

The Mienshao's surprise as the Lucario further spoke to her only further to confuse Naka more until the Lucario gave her a message through aura.

Teacher.

Was the Mienshao going with Naka to help teach her?

Acceptance. Victory.

She won the tests?

The Mienshao walked forward, holding out her paw, seemingly begrudgingly. Naka smiled, standing back up normally to take the Mienshao's paw and shook it once, before retracting it and suddenly bowing with both her hands together. "I won't disappoint you, sensei." She grinned, feeling a bit silly, but the Mienshao gave a hum of acknowledgment, then pointed at her probably fractured arm, her scratches, and at the Chikorita. They needed some TLC.

Chuckling, Naka nodded. "Yeah, we should heal up, huh? Oh." She held out two Safari Balls, and she saw the Mienshao's face twist into a scowl. With a defeated huff, the Fighting-Type tapped the ball herself, getting sucked inside and allowing to be caught, while Naka tapped the other ball to the Chikorita, getting a thankful sigh from the Grass-Type before also getting sucked inside and the ball locked.

Then, the effects of the anger in her aura seeped under the surface, and Naka groaned in pain. Her insides felt so strange, as if she felt her own rage bubble within her, but it wasn't even her own. She knew who the owner was this time. The Lucario who stood before her tapped her shoulder, her aura feeling cleansed. But only slightly. She received another message.

Grass. Cleanse.

"Thank you. I will get Chikorita to cleanse me." With a smile, she patted the Lucario's arm for his concern, the Fighting/Steel-Type finding the gesture odd but not preventing her from doing it. The Lucario looked at the Machamp, who grunted in acknowledgment. Stepping forward, he picked up the weakened human with his upper arms, set her on his shoulder, and began walking down the mountain and through the cave system. The creature's sheer, palpable strength scared the cavern-dwelling Pokemon and kept them away long enough for their travel to be unimpeded by a challenger.

Finally, they reached the base of the mountain and the outside of the grove. Looking at Naka, the Machamp checked her further, assessing if she should go alone or if he should take her back. Scurrying from behind alerted them to a Riolu darting out of view and towards the lakeside, likely scared of her tainted aura.

Huh, hopefully Theo sees that later.

The anger was still palpable within her body, twisting her organs - or what felt like it - into knots, but she knew that was the stress of her aura taking on the impurities. She groaned, but tried to keep a straight face.

Seeing she was worse for wear and was trying to hide it, the Machamp let out a chortle before walking the rest of the way back to the Safari Zone, saying something that Naka likened to teasing about her state in some way. It took some time, but they set the human by the Safari Zone's border, the Machamp bowed with a fist to an open palm, then turned on his heel and left as Naka shared the same courtesy.

Watching the Fighting-Type walk back to the mountain, she turned back to see security walk out to her.

"You done-..." He paused, assessing Naka's injuries. He sighed before speaking on the walkie. "Medical attention to the entranceway."

The walkie spoke with some static. "Ten-Four."

Naka chuckled sheepishly, scratching the back of her head. "Yeah, I think my upper arm is fractured a little, too. Oh, and can I have the Chikorita out with me after he's healed, too?"

The security officer sighed before nodding. "Sure thing. Just make sure it doesn't cause too much of a fuss while we help you."

And with that, Naka got her new Pokemon healed, regained her stored Pokemon, and sat on a chair while field medics and a Nurse Joy came around to assess her injuries before the field medic went about patching up her scratches, gave her a new change of clothes, and put her upper arm in a splint with her elbow locked in a right angle. All while her new Chikorita sat on her lap and sent out a healing aroma with his leaf to aid in Naka's slow, but steady aura cleanse.

Naka petted the Grass-Type's head, earning a happy trill. "Thanks, Chikorita. I'll have to give you a nickname later, huh?" With a nod, the Chikorita rested on her lap on his side and seemed like he was sleeping. For some reason, Naka had the understanding he was resting with his eyes closed instead of sleeping.

With a Paldean Blaze Breed Tauros, Chikorita, and Mienshao in her possession, she wondered how she was going to get their continued trust and respect (well, new trust and respect from her first catch).

She wondered how Theo and Johnathan were doing, now that her time was cut short due to being injured. Oh, she wondered just how worried Theo would be when he saw her. She laughed a little at the thought.

With a wonder how Esther and Ron were doing, she shot them both an identical message to each of their separate DMs:

"Ignore if you're busy. Got three catches from the Safari Zone. The new Safari's addition of Paldean Blaze Breed Tauros, a Chikorita, and a Mienshao, newly evolved, too. However, I uh... Did something a little stupid and challenged the then Mienfoo into a fight so I can nab both Chikorita and the now Mienshao for... Uh, yeah. Did I tell you about my empathy for Water-Types? I got blessed by that weird thing from Whirl Cup. It's so strong, I can barely feel my own emotions and it just clouds whatever I have with their own and I copy them. It's horrible and after a while it hurts. So I got a Chikorita to help cleanse my aura with his scent and calm my emotion-copying empathy, and the Mienshao is now going to be my tutor for this stuff, but uh... I don't even know if lessening the strength of this empathy or controlling it is possible. I'm wondering if it's aura-related. Anyway, I'm at the Safari Zone getting checked out for injuries, so I'll be out soon."

Charlotte tried to think fast. At this rate, running around the Safari Zone to warn everyone of the X-All Aggron was going to take too long. Not to mention dangerous. She tried to remember if Team CELLs enhanced Pokémon had any weaknesses. When she fought Tiburon, she noticed the Garchomp put all of her energy into her speed and attack stats. As a result, she became virtually invincible, but at what cost?

RAwRRRRR!

Charlotte's hair stood on end. Was that the Aggron? Or something else? It didn't matter she decided. The sane thing to do was to head back to the ranger station and warn them about the rampaging Pokémon. She started running. Charlotte glanced over her shoulder. She looked left, then right. Her feet skidded to a stop. Was the ranger station that way? She wondered, looking left again. Or that way? In all excitement, she forgot what section of the Safari Zone she was currently in.

She dug out her Rotom Phone. Hopefully, the map on her Pokédex app would get her out of here. Come to think of it, didn't the Safari Zone station have a phone number?

RAWRrrrRRK!!!!

Charlotte dropped her phone in fright. That was way too close! She retrieved her phone, which fortunately wasn't difficult when Rotoms were involved. However, her hands were shaking so much that she couldn't dial a phone number properly. She looked around. There was nothing she could use to defend herself. No apparent trainers nearby. She could only think of one way to know for sure.

"Help!"

"Shame on me?!" Monty could hardly believe his ears. His eyes must have been playing tricks on him. Where were the cameras?!

The criminal's cheeks went rosy as he pointed a finger at the blonde apparition that appeared from thin air. "Sh-shame on you! You disappear overnight just to scold me down the road?!" Monty hadn't seen Azumi since last night's festivities took a turn for the rambunctious, and for all he knew she just up and booked it to the other end of Kalos.

He threw his head back in exasperation, nearly dislodging Abné from her perch in the process. "You'd get it if you saw the battle Esther and I just had!" Monty raised a brow and his hands shot to his hips as he leaned closer. "Did you know she's been holding out on me?! That Houndour of her's is something else!"

Just the thought got the Kalosian's blood rising. "We lost!"

A flash of lucidity sparked across Monty's mind through the rant. "What are you doing here, anyway?"

“Thanks!” Esther waved cheerfully as Monty followed the maid. Once he was out of view the Oblivian’s cheer faded to muted consternation. While the battle had been smoother than she could’ve ever imagined, it was now evident to Esther that she hadn’t thoroughly considered what would happen after the battle. She flexed the digits she’d just been waving; she could see and feel the still-slick blood dribbling down her arm. It was already soaking into her sleeves… At least the blood wasn’t really visible while soaked into her black outfit, so she didn’t look too bad…so long as you ignored her hands and chest.

Esther let out a deep sigh. She lowered her arm and then squatted to a position that was eye-level with Houndour. “What am I going to do with you, huh?” The she-wolf snorted, as if Esther’s current predicament had absolutely nothing to do with her and her willfulness.

“C’mon, let's get outta here…” The flow from Houndour’s wound had slowed but dry-clean was expensive and Esther didn’t want to foot the bill for all the dripping Houndour might do over the Chateau’s fancy carpets. Luckily, this battlefield featured a door that led outside, and Esther figured that between the river and the first aid kit she kept in her bag, she could at least dress Houndour’s wounds until she could convince it to see a Nurse Joy.

Once outside Esther took a minute to wash her hands in the river. It wouldn’t do to rummage through her backpack and bloody everything. Now with clean hands, she searched the riverbank until she found the perfect tree: both tall and sturdy. It wasn’t long before Esther was hooking wires up to the surrounding trees and pitching her hammock tarp into an impromptu tent.

“Tada~!”

Esther proudly stepped back and once again patted herself on the back for having the foresight to choose the ever-versatile hammock set up over a traditional tent. Imagine where she’d be now if she had to try and set up a whole camp tent? Houndour looked characteristically unimpressed, but what did she know? She was just a hell-dog-wolf thing, she knew nothing of the finer aspects of camping! With a scoff, Esther dipped into the tent and peeled off her shirt.

She was definitely gonna have to wash these before the blood dried and ruined the fabric. In fact, the same was true for Houndour, it’d be easier to clean her wounds if she didn’t allow the blood to dry and mat her fur into the wound. Esther peeked her head out to find Houndour lounging in the grass.

“Hey! No! None of that! You’ll get dirt and grass in your wound! Go soak by the river, I’m gonna change and then I’ll be right over. Kay?” Houndour released something that sounded like a whine, but Esther was having none of that. She leveled Houndour with her mom’s best disapproving frown and glared until the she-wolf reluctantly picked herself up and trudged off to the river.

Satisfied, Esther slipped back into her tent only to return a moment later, this time to spill her remaining pokéballs onto the ground. The rest of her team popped out and Esther waved them towards the river.

“We might be here for a while, so you guys have fun and don’t go too far!”

Azumi "Protection? Why? What's in your room? " Towers, July 6th, Route 7 Battle Chateu.

Azumi was a bit taken back by Monty's reaction, but it made her feel at ease he didn't seem as worried as she was for Oracle. Which meant the Absol was in no serious danger. Still, the French man had talked back to her, which didn't sit that well with the French woman.

"Excusez-moi?" She looked offended by the accusation. "Shame on me?" She crossed her arms and looked away. "Hmp! Grossier."

With a sigh and Monty's energy, she managed to ease back into her calm self. "Well you better make it up to dear Oracle, she's going to be upset." The question about her reason for being there ticked at Azumi's attitude again. "Well I am a member here. This is where I do my battle training. I thought I had mentioned it. De toute façon, where is Miss Esther? Is she celebrating her victory? If so, we should join her, you can't be a sore loser Monsieur Monty, it's bad for the soul." With that, Azumi took one last look at Oracle and then at the vending machine.

Interactions: Nakano Saito (@Merciless Medic)

“Sand Rush? Double Speed!? Bull Shit! How is that fair?!” Esther seethed as she tightened the last of her bandages around Halay’s forepaw. That Hiker had gotten her good, once the sand was up, he and his sand rat had made quick work of the battle and the rest of her team. That had forced an early turn to the Safari Zone. The last of her first aid supplies had been spent patching up her pokémon, so she wouldn’t be doing any more battles for now. It was probably for the best, too much venting was unhealthy anyway.

Esther contacted her parents and sent Bambi & Pari over to Oblivia, she wasn’t sure what she would do given those two weren’t exactly enthusiastic fighters, but she figured the slow farm life worked better for them. Bambi could gorge herself on berries and Pari could nap without a care in the world. It was a band-aid solution, but it was pretty decent one.

More importantly, that Hiker had really shown her a thing or two about the important of pokémon abilities on battles. Abilities had never really factored into her previous battles, not to any large degree, but obviously she’d been sleeping on a crucial aspect of the Poké-Battle landscape. Hell, she didn’t even know what abilities her own pokémon had! That would need to be corrected.

She was sure her pokédex would let her know exactly what abilities her pokémon had, she just had to— “Huh? A message…from Naka?”

Her eyes scanned through the text message.

A Whatdean what-breed Tauros? What was that, a regional variant? That was cool. Did blaze breed mean it was a fire type? Regular Tauros was a normal type so then it would be…Fire Normal? That would be the case if it was similar Kasriel, but then again, it could be closer to Galarian Ponyta and have completely different typing…

Anyway, it looked like things were going well inside the Safari Zone and Naka already had three captures. Even if her method of capture was…a bit unorthodox.

What really caught Esther’s attention was the next part about the blessing of the Great Sea Spirit. Truthfully, Esther hadn’t paid much attention to the many claims of the Whirl Island Sea Priestess, so she was a bit surprised to learn that the jewel had imbued Naka with some form of empathic abilities. But…

‘It only works on water types?’

That was…odd.

Obviously, whatever the Sea Spirit had done to Naka gave her abilities that were similar to Esther’s own empathy but…there were definitely key differences.

Esther hesitated in her response but eventually she settled on a short reply.

We should talk when you get back outside. I can’t help you with your suicidal tendencies, I’d recommend a therapist for that one, but I think I can help you with the empathy-thing.

She hit send and then glanced over at the PC. She’d just sent Pari back to Oblivia but…maybe she’d need to make a quick re-appearance. In the meantime, she should probably review her pokémon’s pokédex information and figure out what she was going to be doing about her contest debut. Actually, wouldn’t Istha be familiar with the Contest scene? Looks like Pari would have to come back sooner than later.

While Iris slowly healed herself with Morning Sun, she looked up as the sky cleared, giving a faint smile as she realized help was coming her way. This smile didn't last long though, as the Aggron came out from the woods, thrashing everything around it and scattering the smaller pokémon away from its path. Iris frowned, as the two briefly locked eyes with each other. A few meters above, Rick and his other pokémon were arriving at the scene. "There's the troublemaker." Rick said, right before the Aggron let out a roar and started rushing towards Iris. "Zephir! Shields up!" He shouted as he grabbed the cat and tossed him. Landing right in front of Iris, Zephir perked his tail up, forming a force field around the two as the Aggron slammed both fists at it.

Rick sighed in relief for a bit. In its rage, the Aggron continued to attack the dome relentlessly, slamming with its arms, head and tail. Zephir started struggling to keep the shield up. When he couldn't keep it up anymore, Iris pointed her horn at the Steel-type, extending a Solar Blade and pushing it away from them. Pearl then finished her descent and hovered between the Aggron and her two partner pokémon. "Helping Hand and Hydro Pump!" Rick ordered. Pearl reached out her tail to Zephir so the latter could lend his power, then launched a huge water jet that pushed the Steel-type back to where it started.

Rick jumped off Pearl and kneeled next to Iris. "Got your hooves full with this one, girl. What happened?" He said, as he pulled out a Super Potion from his beltpocket. Zephir also turned towards the mare, letting out a friendly meow before laying his paws at her belly and started sending healing waves through her body with Heal Bell. While they were at it, Rick was looking at the Aggron from the corner of his eye, as the pokémon got back on its feet and stared back at the human. He raised an eyebrow upon seeing the pokémon's red eyes. "Dude, what kind of oddish did you smoke? A Shiny?" Rick barely finished the joke before the Aggron fired off a Flash Cannon from its mouth. Standing between them, Pearl only had time to shroud herself in a Safeguard, but she was still pushed against the concrete wall next to the others.

Then, to their surprise, the Aggron grabbed a fallen tree overhead with both arms, then tossed it at the group. "Zephir!" Rick shouted. The Leafeon interrupted the healing and jumped into the air, swinging his tail downward and slicing the trunk in two with a Leaf Blade. Rick and Iris flinched as both halves smashed against the wall right next to them, while Pearl climbed into the air to be extra safe. Rick gritted his teeth before looking at Pearl. "Wrap him up!" He ordered. The dragon darted at the Aggron and wrapped herself around it while squeezing as tightly as she could. Rick then turned to Zephir. "I'll take care of her. Go help." He told him. Zephir looked at Iris, who nodded at him. The cat nodded back, then started running towards the two fighting pokémon.

While she was trapping the Aggron, Pearl tilted her head to notice a needle attached to the pokémon's tail. This brief distraction also resulted in her loosening her coil enough for the Aggron to free its arms sooner and hit her back with two Metal Claws, forcing her to loose her grasp and fly away. Zephir closed in in the meantime, lunging at the Aggron and slamming at its head with a Leaf Blade, before he ultimately got struck by an Iron Tail that sent him rolling across the ground. "Damn, what the hell..." Rick muttered.

Meanwhile, Iris looked up to see a green orb coming down from the sky, as Zephir's Wish came true. And right on time, as the Aggron fired off a Fire Blast at the prone Leafeon. "Fire Blast?!" Rick exclaimed. Iris frowned, and as soon as her body absorbed the healing orb, she sprang forward to intercept the Fire Blast, her mane flaring up as the attack got absorbed by her Flash Fire, then proceeded to ram the Aggron with High Horsepower, pushing it back a little before they both came to a halt as the Aggron's feet got traction. As the armored pokémon slowly started pushing Iris back, Zephir reached out to her leg to giver her a Helping Hand, giving the mare enough strength to throw the Aggron overhead and kick it with her hind hooves.

The Aggron stayed down for a few seconds. More than enough for Rick to also spot the needle attached to the pokémon's tail. "What is that?" He muttered with narrowed eyes. As the Aggron started getting back up, Rick rushed in and grabbed the needle with the intent to pull it off. He didn't expect the thing to be buried so deep into the pokémon's steel body. What kind of material was it made of? Dead Rapidash hooves? Either way, the Aggron stared daggers at Rick as soon as it saw him. Rick swallowed dry, as the pokémon started flailing its tail to shake this human off, until the syringe finally came out and Rick was sent flying. Fortunately, Pearl was there to cushion him so he wouldn't crash at the concrete fence. "Thank you!" He said with a thumbs up. The Aggron was about to fire a Flash Cannon at Pearl, but a Fire Blast from Iris to its nape changed its mind and it turned its attention to the Fire-type instead.

Rick briefly looked at the capsule. All it had was a number written on it, which didn't really tell much. "That thing is under the effect of something." He said, before putting it into his beltpocket. "I'll leave it to the experts." Rick looked at the scene from Pearl's back. Iris was now taking the safest approach, running around the area, keeping her distance and avoiding the Aggron's ranged attacks while firing off her own, with Zephir on her back offering support. "We gotta lead him somewhere with water where we can restrain him." He said to Pearl. The dragon flew higher so they could get a panoramic view. The Safari Zone actually had a water area not far from their position, but Rick didn't feel like taking the Aggron to other areas where he could endanger other people. And then there were Routes 47 and 48, which required them to lead the Aggron through the gate where everyone comes in. "Ugh... pick your poison." He muttered.

Then he realized that Aggrons can naturally dig tunnels. So one that is on steroids shouldn't have a problem digging through the park's fence. "I know what to do." Rick said, as Pearl took him down. While Iris was keeping the Aggron busy, Rick jumped off Pearl and onto Iris's back. "Hello! Mind going over there?" He told her, pointing at the fence. Iris jumped and positioned herself next to the wall. "Hey, Druggron! You want the good stuff back?" He called, showing the capsule at the pokémon. "Why don't you come and get it?" He teased. The enraged Aggron let out a roar and charged towards them. Rick leaned forward. "Hold your ground." Iris splayed her legs in readiness. Then, as the Aggron closed in, she jumped over it as the rampaging pokémon charged through the concrete wall and out of the park.

The Aggron frantically looked around, until Rick and his pokémon came out from the dust cloud and ran past it. "Don't know how to play tag? Follow me!" Rick called out. Iris hopped around like a happy ponyta, even shooting a fireball from her mouth at the Aggron just with the intent of teasing it even more. The Aggron roared before giving chase. Pearl would follow behind them, but not before patching the hole on the fence with an Ice Beam... even if it was just a temporary fix before melting.

"Hey! Keep teasing him with Embers, but don't go too fast. We're not supposed to lose him yet." Rick said to Iris, looking up into the air as Pearl caught up to the group. "Alright guys! Here's how Operation: Chill Out is gonna work..."

Naka rested up as the people finished up with making sure she was stable. The Chikorita's scent helped clear her mind and, while her aura was still not 100%, it was a lot better than it was earlier.

She figured her new addition in Mienshao would like some fresh air and see what's going on. Same with her Sceptile.

Going to the PC after she was cleared, she returned her Swampert, Pichu, Flareon, Zweilous, and Aerodactyl. Now that she had six Pokemon back on her person, she was going to take things slow and get to know her three new members. Her phone buzzed and she caught the messages. She laughed seeing Ron's message, a cheeky smile stretching across her face as she texted him back:

"Oh? But I have been taking care of myself. Aren't you so cute hiding your need for salacious pictures behind care and concern~? Well, I have some choice pictures for you so you can see such a lovely, muscle-bound warrior of a woman show off her new additions to her body~." She sent about six pictures, each of which had her at various angles showing off her body and her wounds that were half dressed and she wasn't at all... ahem, anyway.

After sending him his prized Naka offerings, Naka looked at what Esther sent her. Go outside? Well, Esther was pretty much right there, so she might as well. She laughed at what she assumed was Esther's joke, not texting her and walking over across the room to see her.

Seeing her at the PC once she got her bearings cleared up, she chuckled as she approached her. Her body was bandaged with new Johtonian clothes, her body clean from any blood, and her arm in a right angle splint that kept her arm crossing her chest to keep it from stressing out her upper arm.

She held out her arms, smiling joyously as the Chikorita tottered at her side with a happy trill, spreading that sweet, sweet aromatic scent that calmed Naka's nerves and kept her feeling like she was going to turn into a puddle of agony. "Suicidal tendencies? Nah, I'm just looking for a good time and hopefully so I don't get into an even worse state emotionally. Physically? I can handle that. Not so much emotionally once it breaks down..." She chuckled sheepishly, not liking that she admitted weakness, but she did so anyway to be transparent.

"Anyway, I-" She was about to continue when there was a boom off to the far side of the Safari Zone and then a flash appeared at her side. No, two. She deadpanned as her Sceptile stretched and shook his seven-foot-tall body about before settling beside her, looking at her with intense worry with eyes that basically said 'I know you heard that boom, you're not allowed over there'. Meanwhile, the Mienshao appeared beside her, hissing at the Safari Ball she was kept in before going to the Chikorita, ignoring everyone there and talking to her dear friend, who looked even more ecstatic that her friend was still with her. "Yeah, I'm definitely never separating you two." She chuckled, earning a wary look from the Mienshao, but then Naka went back to talking to Esther.

"Silenus, Mienshao, Chikorita. This is Esther. Esther, these two are my new Pokemon and this guy is my trusted partner." She patted her Sceptile on the neck, who rolled his eyes and shook his head, though there was a hint of amusement in his smirk. Naka, meanwhile, focused back on Esther. "Anyway, so the actual stuff at hand." Her immediate happiness sunk to one of disappointment as her body slumped forward and her arm that wasn't in a splint dangled down. "I need help. Got anything for me? I'll help you in turn. Maybe it's Pokemon tutorship to learn a new move or something. If it's creative ideas though, you got me beat there, heh." She went back to smiling, even throwing Esther a compliment, her thoughts still on that battle they had at the Whirl Cup.

Seriously, if her Pokemon were any weaker or Esther's any stronger, she'd have been smoked.

Montagne Khastil
July 6 Rivière Walk (Route 7), Battle Chateau, Kalos

Monty's half-hungover mind worked over time trying to remember when Azumi had mentioned her Battle Chateau membership, but he was coming up empty. If she mentioned it after the liquor started flowing, it would've gone in one ear and out the other. Still, it made sense—a powerful, wealthy battler from Azure Bay? Of course she'd be here.

"Why, how could I turn down an offer from the Battle Chateau's finest?" The man asked with an air of mocking refinement. "It shouldn't be too hard to track down Esther after." Considering Azumi's reaction to seeing Oracle, he refrained from adding 'Just need to follow the blood.'

Monty took a last look at Oracle as he followed the blonde woman out into the lobby. They hit the vending machines, but before the man could get out 'I'll just take a water' he felt a presence approaching from behind them.

"Excusez-moi, Monsieur Khastil." A man's low voice spoke.

Who the...? Monty turned with a raised brow to see an old man, easily in his late seventies, with dark glasses and an equally dark, sophisticated suit. He carried himself like any other high-class shmuck the criminal had met, with that ever so slight air of condescension, but there was something...more about the old man's demeanor that was strangely familiar. His dark almond eyes met Monty's steel-grays, like each man was sizing up the other.

Monty just stared at him for the briefest of moments, trying to pin down what it was he recognized in the old man, until it finally clicked. It was the same old guy he'd seen at the top of the stands only a few minutes ago!

"Uh, yeah?" The old man knew it was him, but why was he here?

"I wished to be the one to inform you and Manquer Sophys of your acceptance to our esteemed institution," the old man's voice was authoritative and matter of fact, without the air of over-formality that the maids spoke with. He extended an ancient, gnarled hand to Monty. "I am Duke Olivier Besnard. Welcome, Baron Khastil."

There it was again—Monty's last name. It threw him off a little to hear it, since everyone called him Monty, but the criminal returned the handshake regardless. "Um, thank you."

"Please pass my message along to Baroness Sophys," the Duke continued, withdrawing his hand. "We expect great things from you two after that performance. Your creativity and desire to win were palpable." An unplaceable look flashed through Besnard's ancient almond eyes, but Monty didn't miss it. "Yes, we expect great things, indeed."

With that the old man abruptly turned and walked off, leaving Monty wondering who the hell he was and what the hell just happened. Something bugged him about the encounter, but the nagging feeling was quickly replaced by cockiness.

"You hear that, Azumi?" He turned back to the blonde woman with a grin plastered on his face. "You're talking to a Battle Chateau Baron, now. I feel like royalty!"

Theo Hightower
Sunday - July 24th
Johto Safari Zone Gate
Interactions: Johnathan (Red Gallade), Naka (Merciless Medic), Esther (Kyuukestu)

Theo considered his answer. It made sense. This world seemed to be much more acclimated to allowing people to do what they wanted simply because they wanted to do it, so why shouldn't they take full advantage of it? He was a trainer because he wanted to be one. That was reason enough. Theo chuckled, answering Johnathan's question with "I mean, impressing the ladies is always a good thing though, right?" Not that he had ever been able to accomplish such a thing. It was rare for him to have interacted with women at or around his own age given the life he had lead before, and rarer still for them to be attracted to him in any way.

Having reached the watering hole Theo made sure to scan the pokemon here, doing a double take when he realized the rock one of the pokemon was using as a toy was crying. A crying rock?!? Was it a pokemon of some sort??? He checked it, and sure enough there were sentient rocks in this world. Great. Did that mean he would have to watch where he stepped? He didn't think so. The what was it? Geodude? The Geodude was fairly large. But were there others? Theo began to draw in his notebook, glancing every so often over to the Sealeo before continuing to sketch. Sealeo. The Ball Roll Pokemon. It reminded him of a seal in a circus. Almost too much so. He looked up again, seeing the Sealeo was now without its balancing Geodude and watching it for a few seconds, before writing next to the drawing mutated from seals? Would his own world have pokemon one day? It was possible, he supposed, but nothing that would happen in his lifetime.

That thought had him looking back to the other water pokemon present, now starting to see what every day animals the pokemon could potentially one day evolve from. Krabby, of which thankfully there were none here, were obviously larger crabs. The same could be said of the pokemon that dove back in to the water after costing the Sealeo its balancing Geodude. The Poliswirls looked like tadpoles, which made Theo think they could have, at one point, been frogs of some sort. The water snake, whatever it was...was just a large water snake. it was only the fishing Slowspokes that had him confused. What could they have mutated from? A pig perhaps, but that was the only animal that really came to mind when he looked at the Slowspokes.

Meanwhile, in other parts of the Safari Zone, a small bipedal canine pokemon darted away from the human and her tainted aura. Not out of worry or fear, but out of determination. The human had gone toe to toe with her sister in arms Mienfoo and captured him in one of those spheres. While her father had agreed to the human's terms to their contest, she couldn't sit idly by and let two of her best friends be taken away just like that. She needed to find a pokemon, a powerful pokemon, and get them aggitated enough to chase her back to the human before she left the Zone. It needed to be big. It needed to be menacing. It needed to be...that one! She wasn't sure what pokemon it was that possessed such a monsterous amount of aura, but surely a pokemon with that much power was exactly what she needed! The Riolu picked up her speed, knowing this might be the last time she would see her friends if she didn't do anything. She was off to the watering hole!

Theo watched as the Sealeo was now playing with the Safari Ball, having a pretty good idea....yep. There it went. "You did that on purpose, didn't you?" There was only one way that little stunt was going to end. He had played one too many video games to know that was exactly what was going to happen. The sound of something approaching them at a hurried pace had Theo turning to look in the direction they had come from earlier, his eyes landing on a black and blue pokemon who....wait a minute. This felt familiar. "...Is that pokemon related to Shinx in some way?" He asked Johanthan, what Theo thought was the bipedal pokemon's ears perking up.

Riolu, the Emanation Pokemon. Its body is little yet powerful. It can crest three mountains and cross two canyons in one night. Huh. That didn't tell him much. With all the speed she could muster the Riolu charged at the duo of humans, Theo feeling a soft bristling at the back of his mind. Though faint, he could somehow make out what the bristling sensation was. Which was strange, especially considering it wasn't something he was feeling. it was almost as if he was experiencing the emotions of someone or something else. And that emotion was frustration.

How? How could this human have such a powerful aura!? It was more powerful than even her father's, and he was the strongest pokemon she had ever trained under. Using her aura reading abilities she had already determined the human was as curious as a newborn and in no way meant her or any of the other currently present pokemon any danger, and that's exactly why she was so..so....she didn't want to admit it, but she was angry. She was banking on that one powerful pokemon to stop her friends from being taken, and this human had to go and ruin it by being a human! She didn't want to hurt him too badly, but she did want to work out some of this frustration she was feeling. Sorry human, but right now your face looks extremely punchable.

"Why me?" Theo was barely able to get out as the bipedal pokemon closed the distance between them in the time it took to blink, its front paw connecting with his abdomen and a burst of blue energy burst from his backside, Theo doubling over in pain from the attack. His arms went to where he had just been hit, Theo knowing for sure his insides were bruised. This was nothing like a broken bone, but that didn't mean it didn't hurt.

Even holding back the human wasn't all that tough! All that wasted potential. The Riolu raised a fist as if ready to strike again when she stopped, the white glow from her fist fading as she realized what she was doing. In a moment of weakness she had let her emotions get the better of her, and in doing so went gainst everything her father and the other pokemon had taught her her entire life. She had allowed herself to become angry, and rather than using that anger to fuel her training she took it out on someone who, despite his potential, was weaker than her. Lowering her paw, Riolu shifted her aura again, having not realized the human had been able to sense she had done so the first time. It was still faint, and harder for him to determine what was being conveyed given the pain he was currently feeling, but the message got across. Apologies.

She reluctantly stood down from her stance, again reading the human's aura. If she had waited, gotten closer to him and took her time like she was now, she would have sensed ealier what she was sensing now and wouldn't have attacked the way she had the first time. It was faint, but there were traces of the tainted one's presence on this human with the monsterous aura. They were acquainted! If she couldn't stop the tainted one from taking her friends from the Zone, then maybe she could go with them! Now that she had attacked a human, she couldn't exactly go back to her father. She changed her aura, this time communicating in short bursts. Friends. Captured. Leave. Together.

While the Riolu was making these decisions Theo had waved a hand in Johnatha's direction to show that he was alright, despite the fact that he was half coughing half dry heaving from the sudden attack. "I'm fine I'm fine. Just..." there was that sensation again. Faint and in the back of his mind, but he was able to feel it all the same. With confusion on his face Theo looked around, eyes eventually falling back on the Riolu. "You?" he was able to ask, moving in to a seated position. The Riolu nodded once, Theo letting out one final dry heave. "How?" Aura the Riolu replied, Theo shaking his head. That didn't make any sense. Aura was a metaphorical.....eh, the more he thought about it, the more he had to remind himself things were different here. "I don't....Someone caught your friends, and you want to leave with them? I'm sorry, but it wasn't me." The Riolu shook her head, trying to think of how to make the human see.

You. Friend. Capture. Friends.

"One of my friends?"

The Riolu nodded her head vigorously, Theo looking to Johnathan. It couldn't have been him. In fact, there were only a few people it could have been. But how did this Riolu know who his friends were? "Even...even if it was one of them, I won't always be traveling with them. You won't get to see your friends as often as you might want...or as often as you think. You understand that, right?"

Friends. Leave. I. Leave.

Theo sighed, scratching the back of his head. This one was determined to leave the Safari Zone now that its friends were gone, wasn't it? He understood how the pokemon felt, but he wasn't sure...until he looked over and saw that the pokemon was showing off its combat abilities. Its paws were glowing a brilliant bright white as it punched the air a few times, before it faded and her feet became set on fire. What was it with pokemon being on fire lately? It kicked a few times while standing on one foot, Theo sighing and growling at the same time. "Alright, alright. You win. Just....don't punch me like that again, ok?" Looking at the pokemon again, a thought crossed his mind. Maybe this little pokemon was just what Krem needed. Someone about his size but with a lot more experience to set him on the right path. Maybe this would turn out alright after all. Producing a Safari Ball, Theo barely had time to expand it before the Riolu was tapping the ball and vanishing in to it, the ball shaking in Theo's hand a few times before falling still.

It took him a couple tries, but Theo did manage to get back up on his own two feet by his own power. "I think I've had enough Safari Zone for one lifetime. Let's get outta here." So much for using all the Safari Balls to prove a point.

Every other step hurt, which made walking that much less fun, but walk he did back towards the entrance of the Safari Zone, hopefully with Johnathan staying close by. He wouldn't fault the other trainer if he went on ahead or stayed behind to get one or two more captures. As he neared the entrance a medical expert came over to give both Theo and Johnathan a once over as per his contract with the Safari Zone, suggesting Theo take some Tylenol or something to help with the pain. Good idea there doc. Wish I had thought of it. Once they were through the entrance and the Safari Balls returned for the next person to use, Theo walked back to where they had previous been sitting and promptly plopped down on the couch, both hands going to his abdomen. He knew he needed to get the Touros to the pokemon baker to get him looked at, but right now all he wanted to do was sit.

Now that they were out of the Safari Zone Theo knew to expect one ball on his belt to burst open, but was surprised to see that two did. One was Shinx, who excitedly mewed a happy mew and hopped up to sit on the couch next to Theo, while the other ball was one of his new additions to the team. The Riolu that had just attacked him was out and searching, finding her friends right outside the building! Not only were they there, but so was the tainted one and another human whose aura she didn't recognize. Theo opened his mouth to speak, but waved a hand after the Riolu. He'll catch up to the black and blue dog eventually. Damnit, this meant he was going to have to think of more nicknames for more pokemon.

The Riolu ran up to her friends and play tackled the Chikorita to the ground, laughing at being able to see her friends outside of the Zone.

The pokéball shook angrily as Esther pulled it from the transfer machine, but the trainer could only offer an apologetic smile and some placation.

“I know, I know, you were about to take your 2nd-post-noon-before-lunch-power nap but I really need your help for this. I promise it’ll be quick, okay? And you’ll get…. a week’s vacation?”

The pokéball shook twice and Esther sputtered in outrage.

Two weeks’ vacation!? No way! That’s too long! A week and a half!”

The pokéball stilled, carefully considering the offer but ultimately its greed knew no bounds and it shook animatedly once more.

“I did not violate our agreement, come off it! Fine, a week and a half and I’ll get Mom to give you an extra serving of Rawst berry jam. Final offer!”

An offer like that was too good to refuse, hell, it was practically extortionate! The pokéball shook firmly once more, quick to accept the deal before Esther could change her mind. For her part, Esther narrowed her eyes and scoffed before she clipped Pari’s pokéball onto her belt. Her negotiations with her pokémon had been so absorbing that she hadn’t even noticed as Naka walked up behind her.

“I like a good time as much as the next girl but if you’re gonna end up in a cast and that’s the best-case scenario then maybe you should re-think your definition of good, ya?” Esther eyed Naka’s cast, sparring the older woman with no mercy and calling out her bullshit on the spot. She was about to really lay into her when an explosion shook the buildings.

Esther stumbled backward but caught herself. She craned her neck to peer through the window where smoke and dust billowed into the sky. Fortunately, it looked like a pair of park rangers were already racing over to check things out. Good, she’d steer clear of that one.

Returning her attention to Naka, Esther waved at her three pokémon and then decided to introduce her own pokémon. She pushed the button on Pari’s pokéball and the Munna came out and settled on her head.

“Well, see, this is sort of a secret but I’m also empathetic. I think it’s a common trait among native Oblivians, even the pokémon have it to some extent. It’s not really like whatever you have, it’s more controlled and deliberate, similar to a pokémon ranger’s capture stylus. Anyway, I awakened my own empathy a couple of months ago and I’ve had a bit of time to get familiar with it. I don’t know if this will work but this is Pariparisithea—Pari for short—and she’s gonna try to «Imprison» your empathetic sense. I’ve been using her Telepathy in conjunction with my empathy a lot, so I think she’s got enough of a sense of it to isolate and target it.”

Truth be told, Esther had come up with the idea moments after she’d read Naka’s text. Whether Imprison could actually seal someone’s senses was…. well, they were about to find out.

“I should warn you though, the combination of telepathy and empathy can be intense and…invasive.”

During the chaos elsewhere in the Safari Zone, Desmond seemed to see his knight in shining armor arrive in a less than fairy tale fashion but at the moment Desmond had lost color on his face and that mattered little as he immediately seemed to dash behind Aldon the ever brave man he was and cowered a bit as he explained the situation.

"IaccidentlycaughtthisthingwithaSafariBallandnowitwon'tleavemealonehelpmebeforeiteatsmeorsomething!"

And of course by "explain" what Desmond had more produced was a rambling mess as he seemed to speak so fast he needed a second to catch his breath. Ignorant of its new trainer's prepetual fear the Mimikyu had innocently seen all this as a game.

"Kyu~!" Mimiyu smiled a bit, though its eyes in the stomach of the Pikachu costume had been the only indication of such reaction as it seemed to glance over to this Aldon guy and wondered if perhaps he had been a friend to its new trainer.

July 6th, Wednesday - Rivière Walk, Route 7, Battle Chateau, Kalos Region
Beatrice Esperanza Lazlo

The young woman walked back out the gate to the chateau holding her Rotom phone in hand. "It's a good thing no one saw us there. I doubt they'd be happy to see a scene like that happening in their fancy castle." She let go of the phone which then hovered next to her. "Wattz, I understand you're excited but doing something like that could have gotten us kicked out. We're strangers in this region so please show some manners." She lectured her pokemon. "Well, we should find someone who works here so we can get a run down of how this facility works. It is kind of strange no one was at the front desk though." The girl commented out loud as she began turning around.

However, faint sounds of water splashing coming from the other side of the castle caught the attention of the girl's other pokemon. The Quaxwell grabbed his trainer's hand, bringing attention to the noise coming from behind the castle. "Huh?" With the guidance from her pokemon, the black haired girl also heard the sounds of water splashing. "Oh, is there someone back there? Maybe they can help u-" Before she could finish her sentence, the Paldean was already getting dragged by the hand by her partner pokemon towards the origin of the splashing.

Wasting no time at all, the Quaxwell led his trainer around the Battle Chateau premises at a pace his trainer could barely keep up with. Within mere moments, the trio arrived at the river. A houndour bathing in the body of water, a slew of other pokemon on their way there, and a girl who is presumably the trainer of all these pokemon standing in front of what looked like an improvised tent. These were all what was on the scene at the young woman's arrival. While his trainer was catching her breath for the second time in one day, Vallace strolled up to the girl in front of the tent, greeting her with a bow. The water type's trainer quickly followed. "Uh, hello. I'm sorry if we're intruding, Vallace heard the sound of water and rushed here right away." She explained while pushing her glasses back up her nose.

Naka snorted at Esther's derisive words about what she thought a 'good time' was. She still found it rather amusing.

With Naka rooted there because she was sure her Sceptile wouldn't let her leave, she sighed begrudgingly before focusing on what Esther was saying. She smiled at the Munna, finding it adorable.

The Mienshao stared at the Munna with narrowed eyes. Having come in contact with others like her - ones with powerful psychic potential - and if the Medicham clan had anything to say about their mental prowess, it was that pure logic and mental powers were a body's weakness, no matter how trained and honed.

Due to the Chikorita's calming scent, the Mienshao also calmed, standing beside her best friend as she watched the two humans talk. She listened, but couldn't make out what some of the words meant. She didn't like how jovial and - for the most part, oblivious - Chikorita was being. He seemed to not care that he was with this human. Did he even mind? Did he want to adventure so bad? How come she had no idea?

The look the Chikorita gave her, one that contrasted the jovial look he had been wearing with a serious one, gave her pause. She knew what that look was.

He didn't like that the human and his best friend fought each other. He was scared that his best friend would become a pariah and since he felt concerned for both of them and felt responsible for Mienshao's actions due to the human going after him instead of her, he felt like he was indebted to this human due to his obligation to caring for Mienshao.

The Mienshao, tasked with teaching this human, groaned but went back to listening in on the human's conversation.

Meanwhile, Naka hummed in thought as she listened to Esther. So, she came from Oblivia, and everyone in Oblivia seemed to hold some kind of empathic ability. She was very well educated on the matter of Pokemon Rangers and their capture styluses, and to hear that Esther can control her empathy...

There was a spark of hope in her eyes.

That's when Esther said she'd have her Munna, named Pari for short, use Imprison on her mind. Naka raised an eyebrow. Thinking it over, she knew that Imprison had several uses. One of which was preventing someone from moving for a period of time with chains and a magical seal, the other is just placing a seal onto a Pokemon to prevent them from using the same moves as the user, and this... She's never heard of this technique.

She looked at her Mienshao, who mean mugged her for a moment. Was the human asking for permission?

That was when a surprise visitor arrived. A Riolu tackled the Chikorita and his aura and scent were extremely familiar. The Mienshao softened at the sight and sighed, nodding to Naka before looking back at the Munna while the Chikorita played with the Riolu, who was extremely surprised that she came by to see him. Meanwhile, Naka looked over her shoulder to see Theo and she waved her hand at him before returning to Esther to think. A yip came to the Munna to essentially telepathize with the fox for a moment so she can tell the Munna what the Lucario had mentioned about Naka's aura.

Naka's aura was like water, which made the Water-Type's emotions even more of an upset on her mental-emotional balance. Mienshao likened Naka's state to having a sound body, but a disruption in mind. Little adjustments were okay, but too heavy and it'll hurt Naka like a wrecking ball on a brick wall, and too persistent once it's in and it'll affect her emotionally like something was twisting a dagger into her stomach.

That was the message the Mienshao wanted to convey to the Munna, and she hoped the Munna had the ability to help Naka.

Shifting attention, the Mienshao turned and chuckled before speaking to the Riolu in soft yips and friendly grunts and hisses. <"I am this human's teacher in the ways of our training. And our friend here is this human's way to calm her already troubled mind and soul, especially when near those of water. We left as per our contract and to uphold respect... However, if I were to be frank, I don't think adventuring and becoming stronger is that bad of an idea...">

The Chikorita chirped and trilled, expressing his enjoyment. <"This human is so sweet! I'm hoping my own kin were captured by such sweet humans, too. But if I want to get to a point where I can help protect others, I need to get strong. I've been babied enough as it is."> He gave a playful scowl at the Mienshao, who sighed wearily.

<"But you're still so young...">

Meanwhile, Naka had finished mulling it over. Sizing up the Munna, she realized that maybe the Munna was a bit too inexperienced for it to be a 'one and done' thing. "Respectfully, I'm assuming this is gonna be like slapping your hand on a hole to stop it temporarily? Or is your Munna stronger than I'm able to tell?" She asked with some concern. She didn't want to hurt her or her Munna, but if they were willing to help, she couldn't just stop them from trying.

"Alright, let's do it. I don't care if it's invasive. That's not what I'm concerned about. I'm concerned if you'll be alright doing this." Naka tried to clear her mind, but she just couldn't stop the feeling that this blessing was a mistake. A horrible, horrible mistake.

First, her romantic interest with Ron worried her because she didn't want him hurting himself because of her, this Sea King's blessing or whatever hurt her when it was trying to help, she was worried her Mienshao will leave with the Chikorita whether the Grass-Type wanted to or not, she was worried about where her brother was at this time and if she was going to see him again while still grieving about his personality change, she was worried what's going on in Rikishii Town where her father was at currently, especially since she caught wind of Leona - her childhood best friend - likely still being alive and probably wanted her dead for nearly killing her...

To sum it up, she felt guilty, fearful, worried, still held grief from her brother and the residual grief from thinking she killed her friend-turned-enemy, and she was scared about what this blessing was going to do to her... If it was going to change who she was continuously and if she'd never be the same friend and daughter again for her friends and parents.

She hoped Esther was going to be alright... She didn't want to hurt her, but silencing her mind to make this easier was something she couldn't do, even if she wanted to.

Azumi "Why do you need pictures of my toes again?" Towers, July 6th, Route 7 Battle Chateu.

Azumi was quite impressed that Monty had become a Baron. She had to admit, he didn't fit the type. Nether less, she then then wished she had seen such a battle herself. "Well congratulations Baron Monty, I'm sure your team must be proud to hold that title with you." With a smile she offered her hand to the man before turning her attention back to the vending machine. "This calls for a celebration, I say, we get two soft drinks!"

Azumi knew the risks of consuming so much soda, but it was a special occasion. In fact, she was already planning how to increase her training routine to burn off the extra calories and which food to balance out the excess in sugar. The last time she had drank more than one soda, was to celebrate she got into the police academy, worst hangover of her life! She felt a slight headache the next morning and had to drink an extra cup of water, it was madness!

"Dare I mix the flavors?" She asked herself, biting her lower lip as she looked through the different selections. "Should we get some for Esther, what flavors does she like?"

“Ehhh…” Esther raised her hand and gave a so-so gesture. “I don’t know what Imprison will do, I just thought of this a minute ago. It might work, it might not. Guess we’ll find out?”

A shrug was the only thing Esther could offer, “But your other option is to look for a pokémon who already has an empathic ability, like a Gogoat, and train with it. Anyway, I’m sure it’ll be fine, just a little uncomfortable at the start!”

Esther pumped her fist, imbuing her voice with a cheer she didn’t really feel. The thought of connecting to another person… it was unnerving. There was a major difference between linking up with a pokémon, especially one as young as Pyrrha, and then doing the same with another person. The latter was sure to result in a more profound experience. Esther wasn’t exactly enthused about sharing so much of her ‘self’ with another person, but it couldn’t really be helped. The silver lining was that her recent frustrations and convictions would likely mask any of her deeper thoughts; though, was that even a good thing?

“Get ready Pari,” the familiar tickle of telepathy settled into place. This was something Esther and Pari had done very frequently; without much trouble, Esther’s mind opened up to the psychic plane. “Try to isolate my empathic sense first and then once you do, we’ll reach out to Naka and try Imprison.

Internally, Esther focused, zeroing in on the thread of emotion that connected her to Pyrrha. She plucked it. It tasted of curiosity and restlessness. She plucked it again, this time emoting energy and fun. Active usage probably made it easier for Pari to locate the sensation, right? Whatever the case, it took no longer than a minute for Pari to find the part of Esther’s mind that handled her empathic sense.

A gentle bray let her know things were ready. Esther stopped playing with Pyrrha’s emotions and turned her attention to Naka.

“Ready?” Esther offered a hand, knowing that the moment they made contact she would be flooded with an immediate sense of who Naka was and vice-versa.

It was a heady rush; the slight roughness of Naka’s palm that pushed open the floodgates and dragged ‘Esther’ into a river of thoughts and emotions: love and loss, betrayal, and guilt. Faces flew past, men and women Esther couldn’t hope to recognize or even parse fast enough to connect a given emotion to a face. Naka’s mind was a mess, a mess of whirling thoughts and emotions, a rapid flit between a thousand different worries all bottled up in a cage of anxiety. It was enough to make a girl sick. But just as suddenly as it came, the flood of emotions vanished and—‘Oh Arceus,’ now she really felt sick.

Like the wind had been stolen from her sails; the sudden deprivation of all that was leaving her with all that was not. It was a sudden and growing serenity, but an uncomfortable one. Her mind reeled; her senses prickled. A spike of panic flared inside her: a dreadful fear and deep-set agitation, it bubbled violently. Her breathing quickened; her heartstrings clenched; she was having a panic atta—huh? It was gone. Suddenly, all the fear and panic were gone, and all that remained was a keen and profound sense of loss; something inside of her had been scooped out and now only a vacuous emptiness remained. What was—

The first pokéball on Esther’s belt exploded and suddenly, everything clicked. Esther knew exactly what’d been lost. ‘Oh no!’’

Naka’s hands were fire, and Esther couldn’t get away fast enough. Before Pyrrha had even materialized her trainer was there, arms open as the wyrmling threw herself in. Claws dug painfully into Esther’s skin: desperate and needy, their owner rattled beyond words. The Oblivian winced at the pain, but it was nothing compared to the overwhelming panic and fear that flooded into her system as her bond with Pyrrha reasserted itself.

Her chest was…wet? Was Pyrrha…crying?

“Aww, don’t cry baby. It’s okay, I’m not going anywhere,” Esther squeezed her partner closer and cooed. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know it would do that.”

Despite her reassurances, Pyrrha showed no signs of easing up. The drake was inconsolable.

Johnathan Grayson
July 24th - Safari Zone, Johto Region

Interactions: Theo Hightower (Sir Krazz), Nakano Saito (Merciless Medic)

Johnathan walked over to Theo as he put the Safari Ball in his pocket, satisfied with his catches of the day and the potentially great partner Pokemon he would train them to be. He then began to ponder over the Pokemon he had in his arsenal along with what types they were, while Johnathan knew it would be a good chance to find other Pokemon while he was here, he was in no rush to find more Pokemon so soon, especially since this was the only time where he caught two Pokemon within a short amount of time.

Johnathan turned his head over to see a Riolu that emerged from the greenery and ran towards the two, more specifically towards Theo. Johnathan merely shook his head when Theo asked if the newly arrived Pokemon was related to Shinx in any way--sure, the two Pokemon were blue and their shiny variants were a similar color, but that is most likely where the similarities ended. He couldn't help but flinch when the Riolu darted towards Theo and delivered a hard punch to his stomach... yeah, that was definitely going to leave a mark. Johnathan was about to interfere when he saw the Riolu stop almost as soon as she started, he walked over to Theo to try and help him stand up until he watched him wave an arm to most likely tell him that he was alright... mostly.

He was certainly surprised by the situation; sure, Johnathan met his fair share of aggressive Pokemon that weren't afraid to attack humans, but rarely did he ever see any immediately stop shortly after without a good reason... and it seemed like the way both Theo and the Aura Pokemon interacted with one another would answer his question sooner than he thought; The Riolu was upset that someone--most likely a friend of Theo's--caught a couple of her friends and he wanted to go with them, or at the very least go with someone who was acquainted with their new trainer. Johnathan smiled when Theo managed to catch the Riolu and went with him as they made their way back to the Safari Zone entrance, he remained close to Theo in case he needed any help moving, the punch Riolu give him certainly seemed to have done a number on him.

When they made it back to the entrance, he moved to let the medical expert handle Theo while he went to go and return the remaining Safari Balls to the person at the counter, then went to go and sit down on the couch and take out the two Safari Balls in his pocket, he couldn't help but feel proud at the haul he got today, two new Pokemon who he couldn't wait to truly befriend and start training... and hopefully they wouldn't have moments where they spontaneously appear intimidated like most of his other Pokemon appeared to get at times. But that never stopped any of his Pokemon from working hard and proving just how strong they can become.

Johnathan let out a little satisfied sigh as he put his Poke balls back in his pocket and scanned the area to see if anyone else was around other than Theo, he noticed how his Shinx moved to sit next to him and the newly caught Riolu also emerged from her Poke ball to hug and play with someone's Chikorita, most likely one of her friends. The adorable moment was interrupted when he saw the trainer of the Chikorita; it was Naka, seeing a familiar face was enough for Johnathan to light wave at Naka, but just before he could utter a word to congratulate her on her find, he watched as she seemed to hold hands with another woman, not out of love, but it seemed more... ritualistic in some sense? But when the woman recoiled and her Jangmo-o jumped up to her only to be comforted like a mother with her child, Johnathan lightly elbowed Theo to get his attention and lightly pointed at Naka and Esther. "S-Should we step in and see if they're alright?" Johnathan asked, concerned, yet at the same time clueless as to what exactly was going on, he hoped Theo was at least familiar enough with them to enlighten him on what it was Naka was dealing with.

"Really cutting loose, eh?" Azumi's idea of a celebration was a little different from Monty's, but it was way too early and he hadn't been out of the drunk tank nearly long enough to warrant a real drink. He peered at the screen and made his own selections, opting for a flavored ginger ale to soothe his stomach, but the question about Esther's preference made him pause.

"I don't know what she'd go for..." Monty's response was trailing, and he craned his neck to try and spot his companion among the other people mingling around the lobby. She never made it to the medical facility, but where did she go? Forget the soda, he had big news to tell her!

The grin fell from his face and he asked Azumi if she'd seen Esther, and at the same time drew the dormant Dusk Ball from his pocket. If the cop-to-be hadn't seen her, Monty had the perfect tool to find her.

After a quick expansion and a flash of light, Chauffemagne materialized with a snort. The Houndour's nose immediately went into overdrive, and he whirled around to examine his new surroundings. So many smells! So many Pokémon! So many peop—

Wait! He knew that smell! Chauffemagne about-faced and scurried to Azumi's feet, circling around the woman with a wagging tail. The canine jumped back onto his hind legs and placed his front paws on her legs, and his wisps of smoke poured from his snout in excitement.

"Chauffe!"

Oh! The Alpha had spoken. Did he have a task? Was there a battle?! Chauffemagne immediately turned and sat, ready for instruction.

"I need you to find Esther. You remember her scent, yeah? She's got another Houndour's scent all over her, too."

Too easy. The Alpha would have to come up with something better if he wanted to give him a challenge. Chauffemagne's nose went to work, and he was able to pick out Esther's faint scent intermingled with a much stronger scent of blood. He took off in hot pursuit, leaving his pack to scramble after him. Where was it going...where was it going...wher—

There!

The Houndour bumped into the biggest wooden slabs he'd ever seen, but through the slit in the middle he could smell the trail on the other side. He looked back to see the Alpha behind him, expecting praise.

"Outside, huh? Good work Chauffe." Monty waved to Azumi to follow him, and swung open the Chateau's grand wooden door. Time to find the Baroness!

Azumi "Why do you need pictures of my toes again?" Towers, July 6th, Route 7 Battle Chateu.

"Oh what an obedient and lovely partner you have!" Azumi was eager to pet the pup, but it seemed Monty had plans for it. She quickly got herself to cola flavored drinks and two lime ones, deciding Esther should get to choose.

The Countess quickly gathered her things while admiring the quick work of the Houndour. She even wondered if she should get a canine, everyone in the force had one... "Coming!" She called out, stuffing the cans into her bag as she rushed after Monty and Chauffemagne.

"Monsieur Monty, try not to move your soft drinks too much." She was trying to school the man on soda. "If you do, it might explode when you attempt to open it." As they reached the doors, Azumi simply pushed them open, smiling at the fresh hitting her face. "Ah, nothing like a good whiff of nature to brighten your spirits, right?"

The blonde girl looked around, admiring the scenery that she had loved ever since she became a member of the esteemed castle. "Say, why would Baroness Esther be out here? Secret training? Oh! Where you two going to have a date? I would hate to be the wheel in third place."

Aldon hadn't understood one word of which came out of Desmond's mouth in his brief moment of fear and paranoia to his newly caught ghoulish pokémon. Aldon instinctively waved his hand around in front of his nose brushing the air away.

"Breathe mints good buddy ol' pal. And I can't help but agree more! It is an cute pokémon, just look at that adorable face... errr..." Aldon paused as he gestured towards the pikachu face up top, but there were two eyes. Were those eyes? Atop the waste of this strange regional pikachu variant of sorts. Aldon gestured down to its stomach eyes then at the first pair of eyes then back down at the lower pair. He hid his confusion behind a chipper grin.

"Well it matters not. Where do you think the others went? Should we search for them or do you think they already left the safari zone, hmmmmm?" He said glancing back at Desmond. A hand to his chin. He had squat down to pat mimikyuu.

"We didn't have anything planned, but maybe she's setting up a picnic," the criminal mused. Monty was fairly certain he'd already told Azumi that he and Esther weren't together like that, but it was entertaining to play on her obliviousness. "Right on the river, maybe some candles lit. It'd be romantic, eh?"

He paused for a moment to track Chauffemagne, who was peeling off down the path in hot pursuit of the scent. "Then again, she's probably just washing off considering her Houndour rejected the healing here and we aren't an item." Monty watched Chauffemagne make an abrupt turn toward the river, and as the pup tore down toward the bank he commented, "Looks like we're about to find out."

Following Esther's scent wasn't tough in the human dwelling, but the closer Chauffemagne got to the source the more jumbled things became. Another human and another pokémon's scents were intermingling with Esther's, and on top of it there were no less than five more emanating from the river bank.

Before he dove in, the Houndour gave a quick bark back at the Alpha and Azumi. They'd better hurry up! In a flash Chauffemagne tore down to the river bank, emerging from a clumb of bushes into the middle of a throng of familiar scents. Esther's entire pack was out, and the only strangers around stood between Chauffe and their master.

"BARK!" With smoke puffing from his snout, Chauffemagne dashed down to investigate the strange woman and here strange pokémon. He circled around them over and over, not picking up anything threatening but still not trusting them. The Houndour came to a stop, inserting himself between Esther and the strange woman, and stood his ground with his head held high. She wouldn't pull anything on his watch!

Azumi "Why do you need pictures of my toes again?" Towers, July 6th, Route 7 Battle Chateu.

"No an item to-day." Azumi teased, since it was common for friends to make jokes about romantic relationships amongst themselves. "But there's always to-morrow."

With that she followed quietly after the active Hondour. Even though she felt Monty was playing around, part of her was really worried she would be a third wheel. She had experienced a lot before with her sister, who had the bad habit using Azumi as an excuse to go on dates. The future cop always ended up following them around, bored out of her mind.

Finally the sight of Esther and her team made Azumi feel more relaxed, until she noticed the blood stained clothes and the Houndour.

With a soft gasp, Azumi covered her mouth and gave Monty a glare. "Is this your doing?" her whisper was soft but harsh.

Asking the culprit was a bad decision, so without paying attention to Monty's answer, Azumj moved forward. "Amie Esther!" She waved as she approached the group.

"Is good to see you again, are you and your Pokémon okay?"

Esther stepped out of her tent and was met with a trainer and a strange quacky pokémon. She tilted her head in mild confusion as the woman apologized and Esther waved it off. “Don’t worry about it, it’s a public river after all. Is that a water type? I don’t think I’ve ever seen that pokémon before.”

The Oblivian curiously regarded the Quaxly for a moment. “Ah, I shouldn’t get distracted!”

Reaching into her tent Esther pulled out her first-aid kit and her bloodied clothes. She didn’t even reach the river before Azumi, Monty and co. made their presence known.

“She’s a bit roughed up, but I’ve got it handled.” Esther hoisted her first aid kid and gave it a firm pat. “When I was in Galar I learned how to perform first aid on the farm animals whenever they got injured from roughhousing or wild pokémon attacks. I can at least clean and bandage Houndour’s wound until we see a Nurse Joy.”

Esther just hoped this Nurse Joy was as good as the one in Motostoke or Houndour might not let herself be healed.

“Just a minute! I’ve also gotta wash my clothes.”

With that, Esther jogged down to the riverside to begin her work—first Houndour, then the laundry.

Lara Brook - 16th of June - North Lake Miloch, Wild Area, Galar
"I wouldn't say so.. I think it's just sort of observing us," Lara replied as she looked up at the pokemon, finding its solution for 'eating' the pokemon treats reasonably. It was a common way for psychic types to use their powers to absorb the nutrients and food with them. Still quite cool to witness it first hand and actually having a wild pokemon eat from her hand too! Well, Toast did too, but Lara felt like he was a different type of case.

The pokemon photographer then remembered reading quite interesting things about the Avianoid pokemon, but it would have to wait. Nicole was filming the Swablu grooming, playing and resting together and Lara didn't want to disturb her working. The Birdkeeper just looked so incredibly focused. She'll just keep an eye on the Sigilyph and draw its attention to her again if need be. She should get to photographing some more too, but she felt like turning away from the Psychic-flying pokemon would lead to some shenanigans or trouble.. Well, better be safe than sorry.

Gwen Tucker - 20th of June - Route 217, Sinnoh

Gwen's mind was filled with confused thoughts, but most of all she was worried that Naka would be okay. She assured that she would be, but the young girl did not feel comforted. She held tight onto Hanu with her eyes stinging a little with everything suddenly feeling so uncertain. She buried her face into the Infernape's back and let out a single sniffle. When they finally got to the pokemon center, Gwen silently slid off the Flame pokemon's back, her eyes slightly red as well as her nose. She grabbed her own arm and followed silently. She wanted to do something to help. Maybe if she could have done more in that cave, maybe Rond and her could have found Naka and maybe-

Gwen's train of thought snapped back to reality when the Chansey came to her and the nurse instructed her to give the Egg pokemon a pokemon by the name of Cobalt, "Yeah.. here you go," the young girl said solemnly and handed the pokeball to the nurse Chansey. Per Naka's requests and order, Gwen was instructed to stay by her side, but was specifically put on the side where she wouldn't see the wound, or as much of it at least. The young girl had her backpack leaning against the chair while she silently watched on and listened to the nurses and Naka's pokemon do their all to heal the woman. When she saw the bloody rag from cleaning the wound, Gwen felt her stomach sink as her eyes couldn't help but sting again. She just kept quiet and turned her head down to stare at her lap and to have her bangs try to cover her face. Even when Naka spoke to her, "Yeah.." she just replied quietly, her voice brittle.

Gwen only looked up when Naka spoke of someone, quickly trying to wipe away something from the corner of her eye before speaking up, "Who are you talking about?"

Gwen Tucker - July 19th - Goldenrod City Underground, Johto

Gwen nodded as Ron reassured her that they'd wait for Cobalt and Ozzy and then took a moment to think about the options that the punk man presented to her. Pizza did sound quite good. She had already forgotten what the name was in the first place but Pichu's Pizza place sounded good with the game part sounding extra intriguing.

"Pichu's Pizza place sounds good," the young girl replied and looked up at Ron before her gaze shifted to the store counter. Just then, as if by some sort of que, the clerk appeared once again with the regular pokeball and duskball in hand. Gwen walked over and they handed over her pokemon, "And all done. Your pokemon look well rested," the clerk spoke and placed their hands on the desk, "Hope you two have a nice day,"

"Thanks!" Gwen smiled at them before turning to Ron, "Alright let's go get some pizza then!" she exclaimed before hearing her stomach growl in agreement. Right, and then to get something nice for Cotton and Peanut too at some point..

A meteor streaked across the landscape: all fire, and fur, and loopy smiles. Atop this meteor was one Officer Jenny, formerly Tangelo’s street-race Champion! While Cissy was a speed demon at sea, on land everyone had to catch a mouthful of Jenny’s dust. Although she’d retired from street-racing after assuming the position of Jenny, her skills racing had barely dulled. The streets of Tangelo never stood a chance.

Her Arcanine rocketed up the dirt-road that led to Tangelo PokéCenter, its claws tearing up the dirt-road as it applied the brakes and came to a perfect stop at the Center’s doors. Jenny vaulted off her partner, not forgetting to give it a few appreciative scratches beneath its mane. After that quick trice, Jenny walked into the PokéCenter and was relieved when she spotted just the group of trainers she was looking for.

“I’m glad I managed to catch you all before you left, I hate to do this but I’m going to have to ask you to come down to the station with me and fill out a report. The higher ups want to ask you some questions related to team Snagem and your associate from earlier.” Truth be told, there was some suspicion that Snagem might be related to the incidents on Fairchild & Trovita, but that was incidental at best until more evidence could be acquired.

“Interpol is also setting up a ban on travel to those two islands until this situation is resolved, so if you had planned to head there, you’ll need to go back to the drawing board. Don’t worry, it shouldn’t be long before a team is sent to resolve the situation and things are back to normal. But for now, I’ll need you to follow me.”

Charlotte's heart was hammering in her chest. When her less-than-perfect plan to call for help failed, she shut her eyes and braced herself for the inevitable trampling. When it didn't come, she opened one eye slowly. No Aggron. However, she caught a glimpse of something drifting in the air a few feet away. Judging by its ghoulish face and purple coloration it was a ghost-type Pokémon. A Haunter maybe? She took a step forward, then stopped. If it was a Haunter, following it was unwise.

Charlotte dusted off her phone and slid it back into her pocket. The roaring had stopped. For a second, she almost believed that it had all been a fabrication. Perhaps, the ghostly Pokémon just wanted to frighten her. Then she heard a voice.

"Hey, drug--! ... Come....get it!"

It sounded like a fight was going on. She ran towards the sounds. Her feet thundered against the earth. Her heart was still booming, only this time it was out of exertion. Most of her fear had melted away. Concern for the person shouting rose in its place. She didn't know whether or not this person had come across the Aggron. If they did, they needed help. If they didn't, she still had to warn them.

Charlotte's foot hit something hard, causing her to lose her balance. She fell face forward in the dirt.

Geesh! Today, just isn't my day, is it?

Despite everything, she laughed. Once she made sure nothing was broken, Charlotte rose to her feet. Upon dusting herself off, she spotted what was making all the noise. A few feet away, a man and his Pokémon were engaging "something" in combat. At first, the dust prevented her from seeing clearly. When it cleared, she could make out three distinct Pokémon: a Dragonair, a Rapidash, and an...

Aggron!

Shadows of Giratina! Somebody was actually fighting it.

"Hey!" Charlotte tried shouting until she realized that she was probably out of range.

The trainer's Rapidash kept firing Embers at the brazen Pokémon. It seemed to be working, but just barely. What was this guy thinking? Once more, Charlotte looked around, and once more she was faced with the reality that she lacked suitable firepower. If only she had a Pokémon. She glanced at the Safari Balls on her belt. The clerk had allowed her 50 balls. Charlotte had no clue what the success rate was for using a Safari Ball on a doped-up Aggron, but it had to be better than nothing. Deciding the worst it could do was give the trainer and his Pokémon a break in the action, she let a Safari Ball fly.

"THAT'S NOT WHAT I SAID!" Desmond yelled out as it seemed Aldon somehow failed to understand the panicked gibberish that he was calling out as he twitched a bit but it appeared he'd get no help here as he sighed.

The Mimikyu seemed to like the energy its trainer's friend had, as the friendly thing seemed to bounce a bit while its uh "head" flopping a bit which had that uncanny valley quality that caused Desmond to shiver a moment but as Aldon got close to it the Mimikyu seemed to find this presence welcoming as it bounced a bit in place. "Mimikyu~!" Desmond seemed to get the picture that maybe this thing seemed to not want to hurt him but before any trouble came and as an impulse to it rubbing on his leg he returned it to his Safari Ball before he had gotten in trouble.

"I have no idea, I assume some of them are after that Aggron for whatever suicidal reason. I've uh never been the best tracker so if you have ideas to find them I am all ears." Desmond mused to Aldon as indeed they needed to least find some of the others and he hoped to avoid any further troubles.

Tangelo Island, Orange Archipelago (June 2nd)

@Merciless Medic (Regie) @ThAtGuY101 (Briar) @kyuukestu (Officer Jenny)

Before anything else Officer Jenny seemed to arrive on the scene as she rode upon her Arcanine like a mighty stead and seemed to hault their admittedly premature plans as she seemed to request they come with her for questioning. Adrianne had never had any sort of run in with the law before and while she had not been guilty of anything she still had felt a shiver when asked to follow her for questioning.

Well questioning was strong as she more was being asked to file a report, but hey what story sounded cooler to tell dad when she paid him a visit?

"Oh uh sure." Adrianne said to Officer Jenny as she was escorted with the group with Amber being taken in as it seemed she would be getting some support from them, and Adrianne had displayed the Rattata's Pokeball as she presented it to Jenny as it had been among the stolen Pokemon and it seemed reasoned by her that they'd be better to find a home for it. Adrianne felt a bit bad as she wanted to do this but Jenny insisted and for the sake of the Rattata and she relented. Now came time to file her report and Adrianne seemed to use some...

...and then there was this sort of chaotic scramble! She was yelling at her Pokemon to attack us and I was just all "how can you be so cruel!" well maybe not exactly but it was pretty wild!

...let's just say, favorable descriptions, she seemed to outline the report from her POV. Being sure to highlight the woman who stole the various Pokemon, their unique problem of needing new owners, Amber's illness and plight as well as what seemed to be this disaster on another of the islands. Adrianne had been prepared to help Amber on this matter, but as she explained to Jenny before she even worked on the report this needed to be handled by their hands or local Rangers as trusting some trainers one such as herself with little experience had potential for more harm than good.

Adrianne had protested this as she promised Amber her help, but Jenny insisted they would provide help and this report was the best way to aid her now. Adrianne seemed to carry a guilt, as if she lacked the strength to be a help even when someone needed it but she decided not to fight Jenny on this.

She filed her report and after some questions she was left though before hand she passed her contact and asked to give it to Amber just in case which Jenny seemed to honor. From there she just had to wait just outside the Tangelo Police Station for Briar and Reggie to finish up so they'd discuss their next move and compare notes. One thing Adrianne knew was she needed to get stronger; she had been the newbie to this world but it was clear she struggled to stomach with not being able to help someone in need, she'd have to improve to not drag someone down again that much she had decided on firmly.

A wide grin sat on Aldon's face as he watched Mimikyu bounce around excitedly. He was no longer listening to Desmond at this point and had fully made his mind up on what he thought about Dessy-kun's newly caught pokémon.

He did however hear Desmond mention the others and how they were likely after the aggron. Aldon sat down, turning to Desmond and giving him a double thumbs up.

"I don't hear aggron after us. They probably got it distracted, or they gave it the slip too. You'd think the safari zone would at least warn you about an aggron, I mean what's one of those things even doing out here in Johto?! I've never seen one in my Johto travels!" Aldon paused to look at mimikyu with a serious expression. It were almost as if he was scanning the pokémon. A finger to his chin, he scratched it a few times before side eyeing Desmond. Maybe he thought about it too.

"As curious as I am to see how tough your new best friend is, we aren't much help now. Perhaps we can see if the safari zone workers can offer assistance! I mean we aren't gonna fight a steel plated psuedo dinosaur any time soon." Aldon shrugged as he commented.

Baba let out a loud screech when she saw the arcanine. A small hand extended outward and big blue eyes fixated on arcanine fur. Nothing else mattered, Baba wanted to grab a hand full of doggy fur just to feel how soft it was, unfortunately she was too far away. For now she held her extended hand out with her fingers wiggling around.

"Fill out a r-report?! I hope this report doesn't involve a breathalyzer test, not that I'm worried" Briar said before putting her sunglasses on. She glanced over at ferrothorn one last time. It was briefly under her care for a few minutes yet she hadn't really said a word to it yet.

"Looks like you're finally gonna see your trainer again, huh??" She said in a cheerful tone. Ferrothorn out of nowhere gave a very prickly hug causing Briar to let out a "Eep!" As it did so. Briar sheepishly hugged the thorny pokémon trying to avoid as many thorns as she could. Once it let go, it was goodbye. Amber would be getting the help she needed as well.

"The sooner we get this over with, the sooner we can get off this island. I could go for a bubble bath and two shots of- I mean... A long nap!" She said stretching her arms in the air, ready to follow Jenny. With Reluctance Briar had found herself at the police station. This was not her first time at a police station, she knew the drill. Though luckily for Briar, this was her first time at one on the Orange Islands so she had no reputation here. After finishing, she stepped outside. Adjusting her sunglasses, the light bounced off her lenses. She looked around. Glancing over at Reggie and Adrianne.

"Trovita is the island with the spike bell badge, I think" Briar said, slightly misnaming the spike shell badge. She remembered that was one of the two islands that had been temporarily travel barred.

The young woman was glad that the black and red haired stranger did not mind their sudden intrusion. Following that, the girl inquired about Vallace's typing, stating she had never seen a pokemon like him before. "Oh, I guess you wouldn't know about Vallace here if you've never been to Paldea. Yeah he is-'' Before she could finish, the sounds of barking and rapidly approaching footsteps caught the girl's attention. In no time, a Houndour had suddenly stepped in between the 2 trainers, snarling at the black haired girl.

The girl was very surprised to say the least, is this a wild pokemon? Another trainer's pokemon? It probably isn't the girl's since her houndour seemed to be the one in the river, she probably doesn't have 2 pokemon of the same species right? While the girl was trying to process everything about the situation that had presented itself to her, her Quaxwell stepped between the Fire Dark type and his trainer, holding out a wing hand towards the barking canine.

Luckily, the arrival of 2 other figures would mostly clear the air about the mysterious Houndour. "Oh hello, is this Houndour one of your pokemon?" She asked, unsure what else to say in this situation.

"Yeah, he's mine." The Kalosian kept the exchange short, sweet, and simple.

Monty's eyes swept back and forth as he stepped to the edge of Esther's impromptu camp, assessing the situation quickly as his galaxy brain reached a singular conclusion—he did not need to be there for whatever was going on. There were two things the criminal had never seen before standing among Esther's gaggle of critters: a stranger and a fuckin' ugly Pokémon. They didn't look so strong that the goth's usual-full power team couldn't take them...

Yep, he was out of here.

"Meet us back inside when you're done!" Monty called down to Esther, and he whistled for Chauffemagne to return to his side before turning right back around the way he came. The Houndour seemed reluctant to back down from the blue avian, but a quick 'Let's go!' look from his trainer brought him scurrying to the man's boots.

"You coming?" He asked Azumi as he started back up toward the Chateau. "Oracle's waiting and it seems like Esther'll be here a while."

“Huh?” With an about-turn, Monty sped off even faster than he’d arrived, leaving Esther more than a little confused. "Uh, bye?"

Why had he even come over? Just to see her pretty face, perhaps~? Hehe~ Anyway, Esther popped open her first-aid kid and pulled out a roll of bandages and a few swabs of cotton. She gently washed any dirt from Houndour’s wound and dampened the cotton-swap with antiseptic.

“This might hurt just a bit!” Houndour scoffed, a show of toughness as she stonewalled while Esther dabbed at her wound.

Satisfied with her job, Esther bandaged up the wound and then stuffed the remaining items back in her first-aid kit.

“That out to last you a—Hey! No! No! Stop that! Don’t bite the bandages! Leave them alone! Go on, go play with the others!”

Esther let an exasperated sigh slip from her lips as Houndour slunk away. Once Houndour had settled in, watching the rest of her pokémon from afar, Esther grabbed her dress and started scrubbing. The she-wolf…she’d have to keep an eye on her…

Sunday - July 24th
Johto Safari Zone Gate
Interactions: Johnathan (Red Gallade), Naka (Merciless Medic), Esther (Kyuukestu)

Now that he was sitting Theo lifted his shirt to look at where he had been hit, realizing how hard the bipedal pokemon had hit him. The area was bruised and would be for a few days, but ultimately wasn't anything he couldn't handle. He had suffered worse injuries than this. He couldn't think of any right now, but he was sure. He turned his attention to the two women, and though he was looking in their direction he honestly couldn't say he was paying whatever they were doing any attention. Mentally he was a hundred miles away, wondering what he was going to do next. He had gone in to the Safari Zone to learn, but felt like he hadn't learned anything. He had been too focused on not dying. The Safari Zone had been his final destination since leaving the Whirl Islands. So what came next? He wanted to travel. To see the world with his own two eyes. But he didn't want to burden Naka with his...well, himself.

"Huh?" he found himself asking when Johnathan asked if they should go over there, looking to the man for a few seconds before again back to the girls, seeing the sight unfold. Esther was holding a pokemon in her arms, comforting it like one would a small child. His newly caught Riolu was looking up at Naka, who recognized the tainted one's aura. It was...purer now than it was just a while ago, But there was still something there, lingering. The Riolu looked to the Mienshao, grinning ear to ear. <Minnie! How many times do I have to tell you not to be so serious all the time?? And Chick-pea> she rubbed the Chikorita's forehead in a playful noogie <She isn't sweet. She's....evil, that's what she is! She took the two of you away from us! Father may have ordered it, but I could tell you didn't want to~ And look! She made that other Pokemon cry!> Plus her aura was still somewhat tainted, and if that didn't mean she was evil the Riolu wasn't sure what did! <I went to find help, to rescue you both from her. And what I found was...> she trailed off, nodding in Theo's direction.

To Johanthan's question, Theo would grunt while leaning forward. "Should we? No. I don't know much about women, but I do know they don't like us guys meddling in their goings on. Will we?" he sighed, looking back to the duo. "Yeah. Yeah, we will. We're men. We're hard wired to want to fix things. It's in our dna" And one did not simply go against their dna. Which raised the question. Were the humans of this world's dna similar to his own? He assumed it was, but he knew better than to assume anything at this point. Forcing himself to stand Theo would wait for Johnathan before heading over to Esther and Naka, a hand still resting gently over where he had been hit by the Riolu. "Everything ok?" Ah yes. The timeless, tried and true. He ntoed Naka looked much worse for wear compared to just an hour ago, but figured it wasn't a good time to bring it up. It was likely the result of a herd of wild Touros or something along those lines.

Celia Besnard
July 6th, Route 7/Battle Chateau

Celia stared down at the Pokeball that held Luan, deep in thought. Not long ago, she had gotten a call from her grandfather, Oliver Besnard, about getting her a title at the Battle Chateau. Luan was her strongest, however, and if she were to battle there would be a huge risk of him being shown to her grandfather. Luan was distinct with his faux ears ending in blue tips, a trait she only saw with her father's Lucario. She already knew that her family hated it when she asked about him (something she quickly learned after getting Luan.) She did not want to show off her new partner to her family just yet. She could feel him agree with her from his Pokeball.

Celia sighed as she carefully put Luan away. She could easily lie about Dawn being her ace, right? Yeah. Right. She could. She took some deep breaths before she continued on, settling her nerves. A mind clouded by nerves was bound to make mistakes, and she certainly couldn't make a mistake around her grandfather. Not when she was lying to her family now. All it would take is one slip-up for them to notice and untangle her web.

Celia entered the Chateau, still calming herself down. After all, she was about to meet with the head of her family, and she already knew where she stood with them. The Chateau was quite nice, though not something she wasn't used to. She was raised in one of, if not the richest family in Kalos. A maid walked up to her. "Bonjour, madam, how may we help you today?"

"My grandfather, Oliver Besnard, told me to meet him here this morning. Do you know where he is or should I wait for him to arrive?"

The maid looked her up and down. "Are you Celia Besnard?"

"Yes."

"Duke Oliver Besnard has already paid for your membership. All you must do is win a battle, which we are currently organizing. We will alert you when your battle is ready."

Celia was honestly, well, she didn't know what she felt. On one hand, she was not only allowed but incentivized to battle, but on the other, he had paid for her before she could even talk to him about it. She knew she couldn't really complain, but she had expected far less direct help from her family. Heck, no help at all even! That and it felt like one of her family's ploys. "May I speak with my grandfather?"

"Of course, madam. He is currently watching a battle between two trainers currently."

"Can you show me the way?" The maid nodded, leading the young adult to the stands where a Houndour and an Absol were fighting. They were in the middle of the battle, so she couldn't exactly tell whose trainer was whose, but she assumed the Houndour belonged to the black-haired woman with red tips. The Absol on the other hand, responded to the tough-looking guy. She could tell Luan didn't really like his aura, though the complaints were far less intense than her family's. As for the woman, he seemed to have no strong feelings about her. Looking around, Celia noticed that it wasn't just her grandfather here, but also her cousin. The battle that was taking place was also more violent than what she was used to. Honestly, she was rethinking the whole idea of going to talk to her grandfather altogether. Once the battle concluded with a bang (literally), all of the high-ranking members went off to discuss the placement of the two trainers battling. The amount the Houndour was bleeding was honestly quite troubling for the young woman, but the pure shock of the blood kept her seated until a maid came to her.

"Madam, your battle is ready."

As Celia followed the maid, she noted that the black-haired girl was leading her clearly injured Houndour outside, instead of to the healing facilities at the Chateau. That... honestly made her worried for the poor thing. But what could she do about it? She couldn't dictate to others how to treat their Pokemon. It wasn't exactly her place. Besides, perhaps the woman knew how to heal Pokemon.

She soon found herself on another indoor field, facing a teenage boy. Probably inexperienced, as he seemed to be on the younger side of teenagerhood. Then again, he might be older than he looked. Some people look young while being much older than they actually are. He sent out a Zigzagoon. Celia sent out her Eevee. Celia found her opponent to be... lacking. It seemed as if she was set up to win. It took barely any thought to battle this trainer. After all, Dawn seemed to be far better trained and had a super effective move in Double Kick. The other trainer seemed to be at a loss of what to do as well. It was rather sad, honestly. Celia considered forfeiting out of pity, but then again what if that was the plan of this trainer? Also, she didn't dare think about how her grandfather would react. It didn't take long for the boy's Zigzagoon to fall. The disappointment on the kid's face made her heart shatter in two. It wasn't that he lost, it was that he lost so badly. If she were in his position, she would feel the exact same! She looked over at the maid. "Will he get a second chance?"

"Yes, madam. This young man has paid for one day's worth of battles."

Celia nodded before looking back at him, trying to think of something encouraging on the fly. "Hey, I know this was a really bad battle for you, but I think your Zigzagoon has a lot of potential, you just need a better match-up."

The kid didn't verbally respond and instead glared at her. Her stomach twisted. Luan pushed her to leave the room. After all, the kid's aura was filled with anger. Celia returned Dawn and sighed as she left the field, guilt churning in her stomach. She needed some air. Yeah, that would be good. Calm herself down before she confronted her grandfather and his rigged match.

She made her way outside, walking along the perimeter of the castle that she could walk along. It was nice, really. There was a nice breeze due to the large body of water. Eventually, she came across the woman who battled earlier and her patching up her Houndour, a new black-haired girl, a blonde woman, and the young man who battled the woman earlier leaving. Luan apparently liked the blonde woman's aura. Though, she was probably interrupting something. That was never good and was honestly quite rude of her. But then again, she could offer some help to offset her unintentional rudeness, which was also partially to help with the guilt of winning that rigged match. In her mind, she put together multiple combinations of words to express this thought, however, none of them felt right. Perhaps she could just wing it and hope it goes better than last time? That might work. "Sorry for interrupting whatever you're doing. Do you want help?"
