Ask to Join Set Sail: A One Piece RP

So after a few months of punching the red line after going backwards Yama is determined to get out of the grand line at all cost, so he makes possible the most stupidist decision yet and he doesn't realize it, he will be crossing the calm belt. Yama is not aware of the calm belt and what it is and he is about to find out. After making a raft out of what ever he could find he left the next day at dawn, he followed the the red line until he hit the the calm belt and that went as well as one could expect, terribly. The moment he hit the calm belt and his sails immediately died and had no wind, he thought this was weird because he had wind a moment ago. Despite this he hangs off the back and pushes the boat, while he does this he ruminates on why the wind stopped and there is no currents he can feel. This however was cut short due to what he could only describe as the biggest fish presence he's ever felt in the water and he pisses himself (only drawing the sea king closer). He realizes that if he doesn't fight he will die no matter what, so he looks underwater and he sees it, the massive sea king and with out hesitation he swims after it and throws everything he has at it to no avail and only pissing it off more. The sea king was so pissed off it it wasn't hungry anymore so it slapped Yama with its tail and sent him flying into low earth orbit. He will eventually come down and after some time he would float to loguetown and Rika would see him wash ashore

My character is doing this because he needs to find a crew to travel the grand line and he doesn't like waiting around for one

What we basically agreed on was that Rika would find him, help him get back to full health, he'd have heard - either from her father's crew or herself - that she has a ship and knows how to survive out there, and has been pestering her to go on the Grand Line to help him get back on the right path towards the Grand Line, to which she denies because she doesn't think there's enough people to go on the Grand Line with, nor does she want to risk her own life for a stranger she just met, even though she nursed him back to health.

Alright sounds good, we can place you guys at the same place. Also, if we take too long you guys can interact between yourselves if you get bored of waiting.
We do that and we'll become the two characters most commonly in filler episodes full of our antics and shit while the main group is still trying to get together and get to Loguetown. xD If they're already in Loguetown though, that makes it easier.

I left the end of Aiume’s backstory reaaaally wide open so I could essentially just plop her down wherever is most convenient for plot. She likes things organized, so she’d be a good janitor / someone who keeps things on the ship in their proper place. The fact that she isn’t “alive” in the general sense of the word would also make her valuable if the crew needs to scout out an area with, say, a toxic fog, or other conditions dangerous to living beings.

She is highly disposed to dislike marines, so if any character was in a rough spot with them she would probably try to help and that could lead to an interaction. Honestly, though, if anyone asked her genuinely to join a pirate crew after showing somehow that they were either a) someone / something new that she could learn from or b) literally just nice, she would be on board immediately. Pun 100% intended.

I hope the word doesn't come out that Rika's father helped the marines with mercantile/delivery stuff while also being a pirate. xD

Me when I don't get notifs!!

Anyway, Tsuneo will be the musician of the crew (haha brook), but not now. Later on in the rp, he'll get his hands on a guitar and that's when he'll be the ACTUAL musician. For now, he's most likely the basic pirate crew you see as side characters.

He'll also be living in Loguetown with his parents, and he's definitely raring to go on an adventure.

Great, we have a good amount of characters here now so we can get some of the initial planning out of the way first and get started with the RP. Some characters already have their role in the crew basically spelled out like Rika who is written like a Navigator and the Dawsons who I think are shipwriths, is there any roles the rest of you would like your characters to fill?
Yes the Dawsons are shipwrights

We have a Navigator, Shipwrights, a lookout/quartermaster, Musician, Fletcher's character could be our Helmsman and I think that's all of them.

I see, I see. Can I reserve the role of Gunner? I have an OC idea who is a kicking specialist and just picture her literally kicking cannon balls to enemy ships and jumping over to board enemy vessels if we ever do sea battles.

Name: Akane
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Appearance: A young woman with long red hair, fair skin and a pair of prominent silver eyes. Is a little short for her age, but her build is strong with visible biceps, toned legs and some abs behind a smaller chest and moderate curves.

Personality: Akane is a very laid back individual, not the type who seems to take much seriously and goes with the wind. She is passionate about her training and an earnest desire to be as strong as she can be, but in areas beyond that and adventuring she can have a bit of a casual even lazy attitude about her. It's fitting this go with the wind attitude fits with her desire to sail the seas and explore all that there is to offer among this wild world, but do not mistake this attitude for utter passivity. When the chips are down she'll fight tooth and nail and can be quite the powerful ally who fights for what and who she believes in to the end.

Devil fruit: N/A ("You think only those who consume those infamous fruits are the only ones who can survive the seas?")
Weapons: N/A ("The only thing I need is my training and a good kick to the face to get by.")
Backstory: TBD (There is a few things of this world I want to iron out first, early islands, infamous established pirate crews/Marines etc.)

Fighting Style: Soul Strike. Essentially a specialized kickboxing style that incorporates martial arts as she favors strong and quick strikes with her legs. Kicks, sweeps, knee strikes you name it she probably has some way to punish you using her legs though while her hands are secondary to this style she can throw a good punch when called upon.

Techniques:
  • Soul Strike: Impact Burst (A simple but powerful kick delivered with a propelled drive to the opponent typically targeting the gut)
  • Soul Strike: Meteor Driver (Jumps high in the air and dives down to her opponent, delivering a high impact kick descending from the sky)
  • Soul Strike: Rapid Volley (A rapid fire series of kicks delivered in close proximity to the target aiming to overwhelm them or break through a guard)
  • Soul Strike: Power Pivot (A display of strength and precision, as she lifts up objects and kicks them to the opponent treating them like cannon balls, quite literally if she manages to get her hands on a cannon ball to launch)
  • Soul Strike: Blackout Counter (Spins around to avoid an oncoming attack of her foe and delivering a hard knee strike to the back of the head, aiming to deliver a swift knockout or least disorientate the foe for a follow up)
  • Soul Strike: Twister Heel (Performs a hand stand and rapidly spins her body & legs 360 degrees becoming deadly top of sorts zooming around to deliver kicks to anyone unfortunate enough to be in her line of fire)
  • Soul Strike: Water Walk (A sort of special technique she'll develop later, one that lets her run quickly along the surface of water to aid in mid-sea combat though it will require constant motion to risk her sinking)
  • Soul Strike: Thunder Surge (Down the road as a sort of mid-point between her base moves and getting Haki, she'll be able to channel and gather static electricity around herself to deliver electric kicks and combo this energy with her old and new techniques to come)

My pirate OC is up!

Aight, I really should get this started but I am still unsure where the characters stand currently. I'll be statring with my character leaving for the sea but I don't know where to place the rest of you guys other than Medic and Fletcher.
Given I've left Sinclair's journey vague, I suppose I could just have him stumble upon Vance and try to hitch a ride, if that's fine.
