The Fire Blast hit Zippy and sent it flying to the ground, "Zippy!" Landon called out, Zippy got up and brushed the ashes off of it, Landon smiled knowing that his Pokemon was okay. Landon looked up and saw that Rauch was to far away to use Thunderbolt, "We'll have to wait for their next move before we can do anything," Landon muttered, he smiled, "I have to say Nina, you're one of the best opponents I've faced, never in a million years would I have thought to use Clear Smog like that!" Landon called out.

Private/Closed Sinnoh League Tounament

Nina couldn't help but feel a bit of pride at the compliment. It was nice to get a bit of recognition every once in a while, in he own not-so-humble opinion! "Oh, you haven't seen anything yet! Rauch, cover the whole field in a Smokescreen! And make it a special mix!" The two heads of Rauch looked at each other in a mix of worry and excitement. They hadn't used the special Smokescreen in battle even once! Sporting a determined looks, the two heads opened wide as the relaease black smoke all over the field below, creating a thick cloud of smoke below them. "That's it, now start charging up!" With that, Rauch began a cycle inflating and deflating, mixing his internal gases for a charged Fire Blast.
"Zippy, you know what to do!" Landon shouted, he couldn't see Zippy, but he knew Zippy understood what to do, "Alright then Nina show us everything you've got!" Landon called out, he was getting pumped from the battle, and he could feel his Z-Ring was starting to radiate some heat, soon they would unleash a full-powered attack.
'Alright...time to light it up!' Deciding it best to back up a bit, Nina retreated to the very edge of the arena and crouched down, shielding her face from the smoke. This was gonna be a big one. "Rauch, FIRE!" Rauch opened his larger head's mouth, letting loose his largest Fire Blast yet, heading toward the smoke cloud. As soon as the blast made contact, the whole cloud lit up in a fiery explosion, encompassing the entire field. Nina herself was pushed back from the recoil, her ears ringing from the explosion. She yelled as loud as she could, not able to hear herself. "Let's see you dodge THAT!"
"Now Zippy!" Landon yelled, Zippy leaped out of the smoke quickly seconds before the explosion, the recoil sent it flying high into the air. "Zippy grab onto Rauch!" Landon yelled, his face was now covered with ashes and smoke, Zippy grabbed onto Rauch's smaller head and refused to let go, "It's time for Thunderbolt!" Landon called out, 'Zippy still took some damage from that attack, but hopefully this will do some damage, but if Zippy get's thrown off... it's a long fall' Landon thought to himself, his Z-Ring was starting to cool down.
'You're kidding me...you're KIDDING me! How did he dodge that?! How fast IS that thing?!" Nina watched helplessly as Rauch took the full force of Zippy's Thunderbolt. 'All we need to do is get it to let go, and maybe the fall will knock it out for us.' Nina figured that just shaking around wouldn't be enough...but maybe Zippy being so close to Rauch's heads could work for her. It was time to play dirty. "Rauch, open wide! Swallow Zippy whole and charge up another Fire Blast!" The Weezing opened his smaller head's mouth and made a move to hold the rodent in his mouth.
"ZIPPY!" Landon yelled Zippy fell into Rauch's mouth and was about to be launched like a projectile, Landon stood in shock he lost all confidence in himself, first off he made Zippy launch itself into the air to dodge an attack and was about to be launched in a Fire Blast, "There has to be some was to help Zippy out," Landon muttered, but he couldn't think of anything, if he used Thunderbolt Zippy would still get engulfed in flames, if he used Rapid Spin, Gyro Ball, or Zing Zap it would just be a faster decent, all he could do now was believe in Zippy.
Seeing Landon's shocked expression had a bit of an effect on Nina. She had never seen his confidence waver before. Frankly, she was enjoying every minute of it. It drove home how helpless Zippy was that high in the sky. Maybe it would be best to stay there for a while...let the panic set in. And maybe even deal some damage too. With the gases igniting wishing Rauch's body, the rodent should be burning up as the Fire Blast gets cooking. "Charge up to max power Rauch! Then point downwards when you're ready to let loose!" The Weezing began mixing the gases mire quickly, igniting the flames within itself and cooking up Zippy. 'Let's see you get out of this one, Landon.' As Nina was floating to herself, she failed to notice that the weight of the steel type rodent was beginning to weigh Rauch down, slowly pulling him down from the air.
Landon clenched his fist, he felt helpless, "LANDON SNAP OUT OF IT!!!" a voice called to him, Landon turned back and saw Lyra was calling out to him, "Are you really just going to let Zippy become barbecued just because you don't have a per-determined plan!" she yelled at him. "But I-" "No buts, just fight with everything you've got and never lose sight of your goal or have any regrets! Trust in your Pokemon and they'll always trust you!" Lyra called to him. "Trust in my Pokemon..." Landon muttered, his Z-Ring began to radiate heat again, "If I trust my Pokemon, they'll trust me..." Landon shook his head and slapped it a few times, all the worry, doubt, and panic quickly subsided. "Thanks Lyra," he muttered under his breath, he looked up at Rauch who still had Zippy captive, "Alright Nina, if you won't set off the attack then we will, Zippy use Thunderbolt!" Zippy discharged a quick Thunderbolt while still inside of Rauch.
Nina's eyes widened in fear. She didn't expect Landon to actually have the guts to attack. Now Rauch was about 30 meters in the air getting shocked from the inside. "Ack! R-Rauch, fire! NOW!" Rauch let loose a shaky Fire Blast, releasing the rodent from his gaping maw as he rapidly descended from the shock. It was a straight up miracle that Rauch didn't faint on the spot. "Rauch, can you still fight?" Hesitating a bit, the two heads both nodded, although they did so with great pain. "Alright, we're almost there mate. When Zippy lands, prepare two fresh Will-O-Wisps and fire on my command."
"Zippy Rapid Spin let's go!" Landon yelled, Zippy quickly spun and dispersed most of the flames surrounding it but still took a large amount of damage from the fall. "Zippy are you all right!" Landon called out, Zippy got up and nodded with confidence, Landon looked at his Z-Ring it was radiating lots of heat and glowing, "Ready?" he asked, Zippy nodded they both now had the same look in their eyes. "Then let's go!" Landon crossed his hands in a X form, then moved them both straight forward parallel to each other, he made two fist and slammed them both together like pieces of metal, "Let's go Zippy!" Landon cried, Zippy's body became coated with metal it spun straight towards Rauch like a drill, "Corkscrew Crash!" Zippy began leaving a trail as it tore across the battlefield.
Nina had no time to give the order to fire. It happened in the blink of an eye. One minute Zippy was just shaking off the damage from the fall, the next Rauch was slammed up against the wall, defeated and rapidly deflating. "Weezing is unable to battle! The winner is Landon of Twinleaf Town!" Nina walked over to where Rauch's deflated form sat as the crowd cheered for Landon. "Guess that's it, eh? Don't worry about it mate. You did amazing out there." Nina consoled the Weezing as she recalled him to his pokeball. Nina then looked across the stage and met Landon's gaze. "So...that was Z-power, huh? Pretty impressive stuff. That was a great battle, Twinleaf boy." She looked down at Zippy. "And you too, ya lil rascal." Swallowing her pride, Nina offered her hand to Landon.
"Thanks Nina," Landon shook her hand, Zippy jumped over onto Landon's shoulder and shook Nina's hand, "It was a great battle, thanks a lot for the great experience." Lyra leaped over the wall separating the crowd from the stadium, she jumped onto Landon, tackling him and Zippy to the ground, "Congrats Landon," Lyra said as she helped him up, she turned to Nina, "You were amazing too Nina, all of your Pokemon were beyond awesome!" Lyra patted them both on the back.
"Alright ladies and gentlemen we have our matchup for the Final Match!" The announcer announced, Landon turned his attention to the screen, he wouldn't be facing off against Ry like he thought, instead it would be someone else, "The final battle of the Lily of the Valley Sinnoh League conference will be between Landon and Ajax!"

Ajax had bee watching the battle in awe of the two trainers who despite their age were battling with the skill and fluency of experts

"Looks like this battle will be pretty intense but I know we can do it!"

Landon took the last of his Pokemon that Professor Rowan had sent, "Thanks again Professor," Professor Rowan nodded and ended the call. "So it's the team that started your whole journey," Lyra commented, Landon nodded with a smile. Landon ran to the stadium and through the corridor when he noticed Lyra was still following him, "You may wanna go get a seat, these are the Finals," he told her. "Yeah, but would I miss the ultimate battle for the Sinnoh League, since that Tobias guy, not in the world!" Lyra cheered, "That's why I'm going for the best seat, the coaches bench!" Landon smiled as they both entered the stadium.
"Ladies and gentlemen, hold onto your seats because it's time for the Final Round of the Sinnoh League to begin!" The announcer hollered, "The Final Match will be a full 6 on 6 battle between Ajax from Canalave City, and Landon from Twinleaf Town!" Landon took his place. The referee called for them both to send out their first Pokemon, Landon saw that Ajax sent out a Skarmory to start. "Alright Fuego, let's go!" Landon threw his Pokeball as a Magmortar burst out onto the field, Landon watched as Skarmory prepared the battle with Stealth Rock, "Fuego Flamethrower let's go!" Fuego's arms converted into cannons as it shot searing flames towards Starscream.

"Protect and use spikes!" Starscrem projected a barrier up to shield her from the attack before firing a wave of spikes across the field
"Use Sunny Day!" Landon yelled, Fuego summoned a ball of fire and shot it high into the air creating and artificial second sun that would cover the field for a bit, "Now Flamethrower again!" Fuego's arm once again shot searing hot flames out, but this time it was powered up by the sunny weather.
Nina couldn't help but shrink back a bit in her seat when Fuego used Sunny Day. While she had traveled to many hot places before, she was still a Snowpoint girl at heart. This heat didn't exactly agree with her. Still, it was worth it if it meant seeing this intense of a battle. The two had barely thrown out any commands, but Nina could feel the tension in the air. Both Landon and this Ajax guy wanted to win badly. "Well, let's see what happens. Is Landon going to take the first KO, or does Ajax have a trick up his sleeve?"
The attack hit starscream dead in the chest knocking her out of the sky
"Starscream return, Go Genji use double team and then ydropump!" Yelled Ajax as his skarmony disappeared and was replaced by a shiny greninja which set off creating clones of itself before firing a barrage of high pressure water attacks

"Double Solar Beam let's go!" Landon yelled, Fuego's cannons both shot a Solar Beam to block but it only hit two of the clones. Fuego was hit hard by the Hydro Pump sending it flying back and knocking it out, "Fuego!" Landon yelled. "Magmortar is unable to battle, Greninja's the winner!" The referee declared. "Thanks Fuego," Landon commented as he recalled his Magmortar, "Man this guy doesn't miss a beat," Landon muttered as he took out his next Pokemon, "Alright Luce, you're up!" A Lucario burst out of the Pokeball with a calm and collective expression, "Use Aura Sphere!" Luce nodded and summoned a small blue aura orb and shot it straight at Genji.
The attack plowed through the remaining clones before disintegrating leaving Genji unharmed
"Genji it's time for a fusion move, use mystic shuriken!" Yelled Ajax hopin. To deal some damage before the inevitable happened, Genji before throwing a wave of water shurikens which begun to circle around him due to the psychic energy of extrasensory before launching the glowing projectiles in Luces direction

The Water Shurikens hit Luce hard, while the attack didn't send Luce flying back, it was enough to bring Luce to it's knees. "Luce are you okay?!?" Landon called out in a panic, Luce got up, it had taken a lot of damage, "Man his Pokemon are on a whole different level of powerful," he muttered, "Close Combat!" Luce quickly ran up to Genji and began furiously punching and kicking at it.
Genji was taken back by the speed and ferocity of Luces attack which hit him dead in the chest throwing him across the stadium unconscious
"Let's make this interesting, Scar your up use aurastorm" yelled Ajax as his black and white lucario appeared on the field and begun firing a series of cobalt orbs toward Luce

The Aura Sphere all hit Luce with hardly any issue, "Man, this is gonna be tougher than expected," Landon commented. "Landon's Lucario is unable to battle, Ajax's Lucario wins!" Landon quickly recalled Luce for his next Pokemon, "Try hitting this, Chonus, I need your help!" Landon threw his next Pokeball, a Spiritomb burst out giving a menacing look, "Shadow Ball let's go!" Chronus smiled as it summoned a ball of dark energy and shot it straight for Scar.
"Use protect!" Yelled Ajax noticing that Scar had little chance of defeating the spiritomb on its own, the ghost attack Boyce's off Scara barrier and exploded 10 feet away
"Scar return, go Navi!" Lucario disappeared and was replaced by a shiny sylveon "Navi clam mind then moonblast!" Yelled Ajax as Navi raised her ribbons let out a calm cry before charging and firing a large pearl like sphere toward Chonus

"Icy Wind!" Landon yelled in response. Chonuse shot a cold wind at the Moonblast destroying it, but was still knocked back a bit by the shockwave. "Awesome Chronus, now Hypnosis!" Landon ordered, Chronus' eyes glowed as it sent hypnotic waves straight at Navi, "Hopefully this can do something to it," Landon said to himself.
"Navi ribbon shield then safeguard!" The Sylveon instantly covered its eyes with its ribbons to prevent hypnosis from taking effect before letting out a determined cry and becoming shielded in a faint gold aura
"Now Landon haven't you heard it's not nice to attack someone while they're sleeping" smirked Ajax

"Never did," Landon replied, "Shadow Ball!" Chonus summoned another Shadow Ball, but was hit by the Moonblast before it could fire the attack. Chronus fell to the ground from the powerful attack, "Spiritomb is unable to battle, Sylveon wins!" the referee declared. "Thanks Chronus you did great," Landon commented as he recalled his Spiritomb, Landon grabbed his next Pokeball, "Alright Joy, you're up next!" Landon threw the Pokeball as a Blissey burst out happily onto the field, "Use Water Pulse!" Joy quickly summoned a small ball of water and launched it straight at Navi.
"Navi return, Welcome back Scar" the sylveon was instantly replaced with a lucario "aurastorm!" Scar jumped off a nearby rock and high into the air before launching a barrage of cobalt orbs toward Joy
The aurastorm hit Joy hard, and without much time Joy was slammed into a nearby wall, "Blissey is unable to battle, Lucario wins!" the referee declared. "Aura Sphere is one of the most powerful Fighting-Type attacks so I can't blame you Joy," Landon said as he recalled Joy, looking at the scoreboard Landon saw that he only had 2 Pokemon remaining. "Alright, we can still bring this back, Chocolate, let's go!" Landon yelled as he threw his next Pokeball, an Altaria burst out and quickly took to the skies, "Acrobatics let's go!" Chocolate's body glowed a bright blue as it swerved towards Scar with speed.

"Final assault use rockslide!" Yelled Ajax as Scar poured the last of its power into a single attack sending cascading boulders down toward Chocolate

"Dodge it!" Landon yelled, Chocolate tried to dodge but still was hit by one of the boulders, followed by the rest of the boulders. "Chocolate!" Landon yelled in a panic, when the dust had cleared, Chocolate laid under all of the rocks, "Altaria is unable to battle, Lucario wins," the referee declared. Landon recalled Chocolate to it's Pokeball, thanking it for giving it's all, looking at the scoreboard Landon saw hardly any way of winning, "I've just gotta battle my heart out, and have no regrets!" he told himself as he pulled out his final Pokeball, "Mizu, it's you and me!" the Pokeball burst open with a flash of light, Mizu landed on the field and was ready to give it's all, "I hope you're ready Ajax, Mizu is my strongest Pokemon," Landon shouted, his Z-Ring was giving off very little heat, "Use Aqua Jet!" Mizu surrounded itself in a watery veil before jetting straight for Scar.
Despite the resistance Scar fell fainted from the attack
"Bastion let's go! Now Mega Evolve!" Yelled Ajax calling upon his strongest Pokémon as energy surrounded the Metagross "Now use Earthquake!" Bastion drove its front four arm and into the ground sending shoelaces in all direct led and breaking the once stable surface of the stadium into a collection of large rocks and debris
"Bastion let's go! Now Mega Evolve!" Yelled Ajax calling upon his strongest Pokémon as energy surrounded the Metagross "Now use Earthquake!" Bastion drove its front four arm and into the ground sending shoelaces in all direct led and breaking the once stable surface of the stadium into a collection of large rocks and debris
"It Mega Evolved!" Landon shouted in amazement, when he saw the Earthquake being launched he yelled for Mizu to dodge but it was no use, "Alright Mizu use Metal Claw!" Landon yelled, Mizu began jumping from rock to rock and began closing in on Bastion, "Metal Claw let's go!" Mizu's fin was quickly coated with a layer of metal, it leaped up and swung the Metal Claw straight down towards Bastion.
The attack barely scratched Bastion who used the now point blank range from its target to attack with a brick break aimed at the Empoleons core
"Mizu!" Landon yelled as Mizu was slammed against a rock, Landon could feel his Z-Ring was giving off lots of heat, "Mizu are you ready?" Landon asked, Mizu nodded, "Then let's do this!" he shouted making an X with his arms, he quickly followed by placing them parallel to each other, then he made to fist and slammed them together, "Time for a full powered attack!" Mizu placed it's two fins above it's head, as it was covered in a coat of metal it began spinning and charging straight for Bastion tearing through all of the boulders and rocks in it's way "Corckscrew Crash!"
"Ok Bastion, remember Titanus' Ferrothorn and its Gyroball strategy! Remember how we beat it, let's do it again!" Yelled Ajax as Bastion locked itself up like a bull and it's claws begun to grow and glow with a distinct metallic sheen. the empoleon drew closer and closer until at the last second Bastion blasted forward with bullet punch using its incredible speed to slam itself into Mizu before it's claws could collide with bastions body
Mizu slammed into Bastion's claws, Landon could feel himself and Mizu being overpowered, Landon tightened his fists, "Let's Go!!!" Mizu began pushing against Bastion but was quickly overpowered and thrown back and into the side of the wall, at the same time a sharp pain hit Landon in his shoulder, he quickly grabbed it as he fell to his knee. The referee ran over to where Mizu was thrown, "Empoleon is unable to battle, Metagross is the winner!" he declared. Landon smiled as he got up, he helped Mizu up and gave a pat on the back, "You were great Mizu, I couldn't have asked for a better partner." Landon looked up at the screen, his face was blacked out along with his Pokemon, "Ladies and Gentlemen the winner of the Lily of the Valley Sinnoh League Conference!" the announcer announced.
That night every trainer was gathered into the trainer into the stadium, the host of the tournament showed Ajax onto the winner's platform and handed him the Sinnoh League Trophy, "Congratulations, you and you're Pokemon, showed great strategy and as well as the bond you have with your Pokemon," the host told him happily. Cynthia walked up as well and handed a ticket to Ajax, "This pass will allow you to come to the Elite 4 Stadium, where I as well as the other Elite 4 members will be waiting for you to challenge us."

Once Cynthia had handed Ajax his invitation another man climbed atop the Pedestal and approached Ajax "you've come a long way from where we last met Ajax, After you beat Cynthia I have an proposition for you, I think it's time you challenged the Frontier"
"Wow thank you Brandon it means a lot coming from you" replied Ajax slightly shocked by how nice Brandon was being for once

A photographer ran up to Ajax and took a photo of him and all of his Pokemon. The night ended with fireworks being shot into the sky creating a beautiful array of colors that lit up the night sky. "Well I didn't win," Landon commented to Lyra who came to join him for the fireworks. The next day Landon and Lyra stood at the docks, "Well, it's time to head back to Twinleaf Town," Landon said as he extended his hand to Ajax, "Hey Ajax, don't let that ticket go to waist." Lyra smiled before the ship gave a final call, "Well we'd better get going, Professor Rowan and all you're Pokemon are waiting to see you!" Lyra told him before they ran for the boat, "Take care everyone!" Landon and Lyra waved as the boat sailed for Twinleaf Town.
