Private/Closed Sinnoh League Tounament

Star's movement did not cease, but it was slowed heavily. As the Thunderbolt, surged around her, delivering heavy damage. However she kept of pushing through the Thunderbolt, slowly, but she was determined. Four feet. Three feet. Two feet. 7 inches. Just as Star's beak was only 3 inches, she couldn't take the heavy amounts of damage. She fainted, and her body began to plumet to the ground.

With a quick flick of his wrist, Ry returned him to her Pokeball.
"Go Pax!" Ry shouted sending in his Pancham. Pax rook the damage from the field, and smirked. He was ready to go.

Puka took a deep breath as Star disappeared back to its pokeball
"Great work now lets use psychic" yelled Ajax hoping to trap Pax in a pushover barrier while Puka chipped away at its stamina

"Dodge with style!" Ry shouted. Pax, did a backwards handspring, and did it again, doing multiple to get out of range of Raichu's attack. "Now, Shadow Claw!" Ry shouted, as Pax made a flip of a rock, dug his energy power claw into it. He used it like a lever to launch himself across the field, towards the Alolan Raichu. His right claw, was still engulfed in the murky energy, as he attempted to slash at the Electric and Psychic type.

The Victreebel's vines, while not doing much damage to Zen due to his raised defenses, still managed to wrap themselves around him, restricting any movement in his upper body, leaving him trapped standing in place. 'Well,' Nina thought, 'if he can't move his arms, let's use his legs!' "Zen, run straight up to that Victreebel and use High Jump Kick!" With some difficulty, Zen made an attempt to move his legs enough to gather the momentum needed for a High Jump Kick.

"Throw it!" Landon yelled, Flowy quickly hurled it's vine into the air and released Zen. "Now take aim and use Energy Ball!" Flowy looked up and summoned a green ball of energy and at the right time shot it straight up at Zen. 'With nowhere to run this Energy Ball should do a lot of damage to it," Landon thought to himself as he watched the Energy Ball soar into the air.

Nina grunted to herself in frustration. This guy was bent on making sure each of his moves hit. And it was working well for him. There was no way Zen was avoiding that ball, and factoring in the damage from the fall, Zen was probably going down here. So Nina decided to try and make the best of the situation, and after the Energy Ball collided with Zen, she issued one final command. "Zen, this is our last resort move! Fall on the enemy and give 'em a full force Psycho Cut from above!" Nina watched Zen glimmer in the sky as he charged up energy around his arms, readying himself for the attack and the fall.

"Flowy I need you to take this hit, trust me!" Landon called out to Flowy, it nodded in trust and was hit hard by the Psycho Cut, taking lots of damage it managed to hold on. The second the attack connected Landon quickly gave Flowy it's next command, "Grab it with Vine Whip!" he shouted, without missing a beat Flowy's vine once again extended to grab Zen.

@Ry_Burst

Ajax had expected a dark attack from Pax and wasn’t quite ready ready with a come back for a ghost attack
"Use thunderbolt again but aim for shadow claw" Puka instantly knew what Ajax was planning. Puka rose high on its tail and let out wave upon wave of a electric energy. The two pokemon raced around the arena, Puka gliding effortless around backwards on its tail while firing relentless electric attacks aimed to disable Pax’s attack. Most Panchams would be unable to even check track of an electrical surge surfing Raichu but Pax was not only keeping track on Puka but genuinely giving him a run for his money.

Nina was baffled by this turn of events. For some reason, Landon didn't let Zen fall, instead grabbing him again with the Victreebel's, Flowy's, vines, breaking his fall. What did Landon gain from this? What was his angle? Nina had no idea, and she didn't like that. Still, Zen was still conscious, so she might be able to retaliate. It didn't look like Zen was getting out of those vines, so Nina tried working the direct contact in her favor. "Zen, charge up a Thunder Punch! Hold it for as long as you can!" If they were lucky, the sparks from the charging punch would be enough to harm, or even paralyze, the opponent. Even from underneath the vines, Nina could make out a glow coming from the Medicham's right fist.

"Nice try but we won't be throwing Zen," Landon smirked, "Flowy use Sludge Bomb!" Flowy summoned a small purple ball of sludge and shot it straight at Zen. 'Without any way to run thanks to Flowy's vines Zen won't be able to escape or dodge' Landon though as he watched the attack.

There was no way around it. Zen took the attack head on, and it became too much for him to take. Blasted out of the vines by the Sludge Bomb, the Medicham skidded to a halt at Nina's feet, wounded and unconscious. "Medicham is unable to battle, the winner is Victreebel!" As the crowd roared in excitement, all Nina could do was stare across the field at Landon. There was no plan behind that move. He could have just let Zen fall and it would have been the same result. But no. He chose to grab Zen out of the air, and finish him off in style. Look at that smug smirk on his face. 'He's toying with me. He...is...TOYING with me." As Nina called back her wounded Pokémon, her anger took over. Nobody mocked her and got away with it. Nobody. "You mocking me, Twinleaf boy? You think this is a joke? LET'S SEE YA LAUGH THIS ONE OFF! ANMUT, GET OUT HERE!"

Nina hurled Anmut's pokeball into the arena, and from it came forth a fierce, hulking Drapion. "ANMUT, FIRE FANG NOW!" Wasting no time, the Drapion charged at the Victreebel with surprising agility, flames forming within her mouth.

"Mocking her?" Landon asked himself he didn't have time to react to the attack from her Drapion which made quick work his Victreebel, the searing flames hit Flowy hard and was then thrown to the side of the stadium. "Victreebel is unable to battle, Drapion is the winner!" the referee declared. Landon ran out onto the field and helped Flowy up, "Thanks buddy I'm sorry for pushing you so hard, take a well deserved rest," Landon appologized as he recalled his Victreebel, Landon looked at the scoreboard and watched as the image of Victreebel was blacked out. Landon took out his next Pokeball, "I don't know what you're going on about Nina, but I'll show you what this Twinleaf boy can do, Cindy, help me out!" Landon threw the Pokeball and a Typhlosion burst out and gave a loud roar to the crowd and Anmut, "Careful Cindy, this Drapion is faster than the other ones we've seen," Cindy nodded understanding that it shouldn't take this battle lightly, "So let's show them you're speed, Flame Wheel!" Cindy leaped up and surrounded itself in flames as it spun towards Anmut with great speed.

"Landon you idiot," Lyra commented as she fell back in her seat, she understood why Landon made the move to grab Medicham instead of letting it fall but she knew he didn't need to be so careful, "Landon, please be careful in this match," Lyra looked and saw how furious Nina was towards Landon.

Nina quickly shifted her fury from Landon to Cindy, his Typhlosion. They honestly thought they could just charge head on at a Drapion? At HER Drapion? She would make sure they regretted that decision. That Typhlosion was in for a world of hurt. "Anmut, grab it with your tail and pin it to the ground!" If she could just get a hold of her opponent, they would be like putty in her hands.

Drapion's tail slammed Cindy against the ground, Cindy struggled but was unable to loosen it's grip, "Stay calm Cindy, and use Eruption!" Landon ordered in response, he knew it would be risky because of how close Cindy would be to the explosion but it was his only chance to get Cindy free. Cindy began glowing before it shot a powerful shot of hot flames at the ground from it's neck causing an explosion and the battlefield to break giving Cindy just enough room to escape, "Great, now use Flamethrower!" Landon shouted, Cindy, while still close to Anmut, launched a strong Flamethrower at close range.

Nina wasn't having any nonsense. Landon was not going to escape her. Not if she had any say in the matter. "Anmut, move out of the way and grab that Typhlosion again!" Using her flexible body, Anmut's neck stooped beneath Cindy's Flamethrower as she made a move to grab the Typhlosion by the feet with her pincers.

Anmut's pincer clamped onto Cindy and as hard as it tried Cindy could not get out, "Hang in there Cindy!" Landon yelled in a panic as he watched trying to figure out how to break Cindy free so he could come up with another strategy but he had no such luck, he could feel his whole body refused to move or give any orders to Cindy.

"Drapion is a strong and flexible Pokemon and can usually dodge any attack, but there is one way to hit it, hopefully Landon can find it before he loses more Pokemon," Lyra commented as she watched the battle, she was amazed at how both trainers were battling.

Nina's fist clenched in sync with Anmut's pincer. Her expression broke out into a fierce smile. She had him now. Before anything else though, it was time to set the stage while Cindy was down for the count. "Anmut, spread Toxic Spikes across the battlefield!" The Drapion reared her head upwards as she launched a poisonous ball of energy into the air. The ball exploded in midair as hazardous spike traps took their place on Landon's side of the battlefield. With that out of the way, Nina let loose.

"Alright, now give 'em a Night Slash attack!" Dragging Cindy closer to her, Anmut brought her other pincer around, aiming to land a Night Slash straight across Cindy's torso.

"Cindy!" Landon yelled as Cindy was sliced with a Night Slash that dealt lots of damage. Landon watched as Cindy fell to the ground, he still couldn't make his body move what-so-ever. Landon watched in shock as the Toxic Spikes took an immediate effect on Cindy badly poisoning it and dealing damage as well. When the poison had stopped, Cindy crumbled to the ground in defeat, "Typhlosion is unable to battle, Drapion wins!" the referee declared, Landon quickly turned to the screen, another one of his partners had just been defeated. Landon fell to the ground in shock after recalling Cindy. "What am I going to do, those Toxic Spikes will just harm everyone I chose, not to mention how strong that Drapion is," Landon told himself as he tried to think of a plan.

"Hey Landon snap out of it!" Lyra called out from the stands to him, "When things seem rough you have to know that your Pokemon are there for you! Don't forget what you promised them!"

Landon heard what Lyra yelled and immediately put it to thought, 'She's right, my Pokemon have always helped me, we've been there for each other always, and we've come to far to lose now' he thought to himself as he got up, "We're down 2, but that won't matter, Flowy and Cindy put in their work and now it's time for everyone else to carry on what they started," Landon quickly analyzed the situation before looking at his Z-Ring, "That's it, alright Zippy, you're up next!" Landon whipped the Pokeball as hard as he could, and after a quick flash of light a determined Togedemaru stood ready to battle, "Sorry to put your Toxic Spikes to waste but Togedemaru is a Steel-Type and has an immunity to it," Landon smiled as he clenched his fist, "Now to get rid of them, Zippy use Rapid Spin!" Zippy immediately began spinning as fast as it could, while at the same time the Toxic Spikes were being dispersed from the field.

Nina was nearly ripping her hair out at this point. How had she forgotten about the steel type? The steel type that knew RAPID SPIN? It was a flawless counter to her trap, and she remembered her last fight with Zippy all too well. She knew that the rodent wouldn't give her any room to set up another layer of spikes. She would just have to hope that Anmut would be fast enough to catch it. "Anmut, close in on that rodent! Get a hold of it any way you can!" Anmut started dashing across the field toward the spinning Pokémon.

"Don't let it near you!" Landon shouted, Zippy nodded and began bouncing around and rolling around Anmut not giving it a single chance to grab it at all. Landon watched carefully at how Zippy was moving and made sure Anumt wouldn't lay one pincer on Zippy, "That's right Zippy just keep rolling," Landon muttered until he finally realized something, "I got it, Zippy get above Anmut!" Zippy understood and bounced off of the wall and into the air, "Perfect, now use Thunderbolt!"

"Anmut, get out of the way!" But it was too late. Anmut couldn't dodge an arial attack, especially not one that and out so quickly and unexpectedly. The Drapion shrunk back as it was badly hurt by the Thunderbolt. Not only that, but in the midst of battle, Nina had neglected to notice that Anmut has been getting increasingly tired. While she was very powerful, Anmut was by far her most inexperienced member, and wasn't used to battling for this long. It seemed that Anmut wouldn't be able to take much more before collapsing. 'This isn't good. I'm going to need Anmut later.' Deciding that the Drapion was too valuable to lose, Nina recalled Anmut from the battlefield.

"Rest up for a while mate. I'm gonna need you later." Nina cleared her head before sending out her next Pokémon. Seeing Anmut take a direct hit like that put Nina back into her senses. "Alright, Harry, you're up!" Nina tossed her pokeball into the arena as Harry, her Tangrowth partner, materialized on the battlefield. "Hoped to save you for the finals mate, but I'm gonna need you now. You know the drill." The Tangrowth nodded as he took a defensive stance.

"Zippy return!" Landon recalled Zippy back to its Pokeball, seeing as Zippy's Electric Attacks would do much against a Grass-Type. Landon took out his next Pokeball, "Spike, let's go!" Landon shouted, the Pokeball immediately opened and a Blaziken burst out and stood with it arms folded, "It's been a while Spike!" Landon smiled, Spike smiled and nodded in response, "Then let's start things off with Blaze Kick!" Spike leaped up as it's left became engulfed in flames and dove at Nina's Tangrowth.

Pax's Shadow Claw soon faded, and that's when Ry knew it was time for a follow up attack. Considering Puka was firing rapid Thunderbolts, he would need to be quick. With a summersault, Pax landed on the groundX and grinned widely. "Stone Edge!" Ry shouted. Pointed stone soon began to float around Pax, like he had his own orbit. His smile seemed to grow wilder, as he fired the stones off like rockets aiming not only directly at Puka, but in the areas around Puka, so the Electric and Psychic would have some trouble escaping.

"Trying to box us in huh?" Questioned Ajax "Puka! Hover and use Focus blast!" The electric psychic type charged a large ball of amber energy and held it as a shield against the stone rockets, which disintegrated on contact while other flew right past her.
"Now take off and use clam mind" Puka set off again soaring high into the sky far out of Pax's reach, there she sat down on her tail and begun to glow with a pale blue light before rising again to stand on her tail 15 feet above the battle field

"So how about we hang ten too huh, Pax. Stone Edge one more time!" Ry shouted as Pax nodded. Pointed rocks floated around Pax, but this time, the small Panda leapt on top of one of the bigger ones and began to ride it line a surf board. He flew straight up into the air making sure to show off. Then as he got nearer to Puka, Ry shouted, "Shadow Claw Spin!"

The stone flung Pax forward whose claws were engulfed in shadowy energy, and the stones flew beside Pax. Then the Pancham began to spin and made a shape similar to an Excadrill digging as he and the rocks flew towards Puka.

Nina's blood began to boil with anticipation. Landon probably thought he had the advantage, using a fire type against Harry. This was just the kind of situation she had planned for by keeping Harry out of the ring up until now. Now it was time for their little surprise. The Blaziken fell rapidly towards Harry as Nina watched with anticipation, waiting for the last moment before the two collided. "Now, Harry! Protect!" The Tangrowth crossed his arms across his body as a protective barrier formed around him, causing the Blaze Kick to glance harmlessly off of Harry. 'Now, while they're caught off guard! Strike now!' Nina called out to the vine Pokémon, unleashing their secret weapon. "Harry, start up the Earthquake!"

Upon the signal, the Tangrowth's vines began to form into a nearly countless amount of arms, and began lashing out against the ground. The ground began to shake and dust flew up around Harry. As the cracks quickly began to take form, Nina gave an almost cruel grin. 'Let's see how he handles THIS!'

"Two can play at that game, Puka use Psychic Electro-sphere!" Puka charged up and fired a huge electro ball using psychic to stop it from flying away instead the ball returned to Puka and engulfed her, the electricity prevented from damaging her by the psychic energy which only further added to the power of the attack
"Now Puka, Attack!" Puka charged at Pax, eyes glowing pale blue and electical energy surfing around the massive sphere.

"Get into the air!" Landon yelled, Spike ran up to Harry, still taking some damage from the Earthquake, and used it as a springboard to get into the air and away from the Earthquake, "Now use Blaze Kick again!" Landon ordered, Spike dove straight down onto Harry, it's leg once again engulfed in flames. 'Protect has a higher chance of failing if you use it in constantly, so let's turn up the heat so that we can take our one shot,' Landon thought to himself.

Even with the naturally high defenses of Tangrowth, a hit from Spike would more than likely spell trouble for Harry. And unfortunately, Nina would have to wait a bit longer before using protect again. Using it now would be a coin flip at best and a wasted move at worst. 'Still,' Nina thought, 'as long as it's in the air like that, it should have a hard time avoiding anything...now THERE'S an idea!' "Harry, open fire with Leech Seed!" Momentarily ceasing his assault on the ground, Harry looked up and fired an assault of seeds at his airborne opponent. 'Perfect. Best case scenario, the blow knocks the Blaziken out of the air and we get off Scott free. Worst case, Harry gets hit with Blaze Kick and we get a share of Spike's health.'

The Leech Seed landed on Spike and immediately began sucking it's energy away, "Return for now Spike," Landon said as he recalled Spike, "You'll battle again soon, promise," Landon swapped his Pokeballs quickly for his next choice, 'I've gotta do something about that Tangrowth's defence' he thought to himself. "A strong defence is the best offence, so Joy let's go!" Landon threw the Pokeball as his Blissey burst out again happily. "Alright Joy, use a combination move, slam a Water Pulse against the battlefield and then use Shock Wave!" Joy nodded happily as it summoned a Water Pulse and smashed it against the ground creating a wave of water, then used Shock Wave to surround the water.

"Keep up your momentum!" Ry shouted as Pax continued to fly ahead. The stones began to encircle the spinning Pancham before they all flew ahead, aiming for various spots along the energy barrier, hoping to pierce it and hit Puka.

The stones stuck into the sphere but luckily stopped before hitting Puka,
"Looks like your attack has only strengthened ours!" Yelled Ajax commenting on the fact that the stones embedded in the sphere now acted as spikes which would cause further damage and a greater hazard for Pax, Puka increased her speed as electricity and tiny chips of rock flew out in all directions

"Pax will be fine," Ry commented, as Pax flew passed the stones. "He still has this little number!" With Pax's straight trajectory, the stones wouldn't hit him, because of where he had placed them. And as an added bonus, the stones had probably weakened Puka's shield, giving Pax a smoother attack. Then Pax spun stright into the area around the sphere, less than seconds away from hitting it.

Puka also begun to spin horizontally spikes hurling in all directions, electricity surging and filling the air with a slight static charge
"Puka charge!" Puka continued to spin rapidly toward Pax
The two attacks collided Pax's stone edge surfboard disintegrating upon contact along with Puka's stone spikes.
The Shadow claw and electro psychic ball collided hard shadow claw ripped through the outer barrier causing a massive bolt of electricity to fly out and strike Pax

Pax did a summersault, bringing his knees to his chest and spinning to avoid the Thunderbolt, just barely avoiding the majority of the blast. However he was still struck with a bit of damage. "Shadow Claw! How well does your Pokemon fight in close range, Ajax!" Ry shouted. Both of Pax's paws became engulfed in energy, as he slashed close range at Puka.

"cast off and psychic!" Puka released the rest of its already badly punctured and damaged electro-ball in an explosion of electrical energy in all directions, the attack pushed Puka and Pax apart before Puka's eyes lit up again and a blue-ish glow begun to close in on Pax from all sides

Pax took the attack hard, and began to plummet towards the ground. "Stone Edge!" Once again Pax made himself a stone surfboard and flew into the air, beaten, but not unable to battle. "Okay, I need you to use Shadow Claw," Ry shouted. Pax summersaulted forward, letting the rocks fall to the ground, and slashed at Puka once again.

The attack hit Puka hard but she survived and grabbed hold of Pax using psychic throwing the Pokémon away from her. It seemed that both parties knew how this battle could be won
"Puka again calm mind while they're out of reach!" Puka quickly meditated before returning to its place hovering near Ajax, albeit she did on occasion drop a foot or two before regaining her position

"Stone Edge!" Ry shouted as Pax caught himself on another floating rock and he flew towards Puka. Then he leapt off, allowing the rocks to fly towards Puka rapidly. "Shadow Claw." Propelling himself forward, Pax flew towards Puka, with his shadowy claws raised.

Puka took the attack hard knocking her off he tail and she begun to plummet toward the ground before disappearing in a flash of red light
"Go Navi, calm mind then Moonblast!" Ajax released another pokeball and a shiny sylveon appeared on the field with ribbons already glowing in a pale blue light bur launching a large orb of pale pearl-like light directly for Pax
