Private/Closed Annual Almia Tournament (Discussion)

Since all the RPer spots have been taken, should I make this Private/Closed? Spectating char's, tho.

Hehe... I'm a cashier XD And I have such a strange schedule... I'm also going to college, so my schedule will vary weekly. The only thing that will be consistent will be my college, which will start up after spring break. By the way, I've been sitting in my work clothes for 2 hours and a half XD I'm going to change now XD

I will allow Pokemon that are overly used if the rest of the team are largely under used in a RP setting. So Danny's Greninja (@Takumeme666420), Guzma's Volcarona (@vaultie), Maximus' Garchomp (@Mr.Glaceon), and Colress' Metagross (@Ninian), they are all accepted, mainly because all the teams are largely under used. Also, vaultie's two Golisopods and two Scizors are fine, especially when they are completely different from one another in terms of personality, and that she is controlling two characters who love each other.

Name: Sean McLoughlin
Age: 20 years
Gender: Male
Birthplace/Hometown: Saffron City, Kanto
Appearance
  • Height: 5'08" (1.73 m)
  • Weight: 150 lbs (68.0 kg)
  • Hair Color/Length/Style: Short, brown, straight hair.
  • Eye Color: Hazel eyes that may look more green.
  • Identifying Marks (i.e. tattoos, piercings, freckles, etc.): Piercings on his ears on the lobe and on the ear ridge, and one on his nostril. He's also extremely pale.
  • Musculature: Slim, not too muscular, but has muscle.
  • Clothing: He has a green jacket with yellow cuffs and seams with a camo undershirt. He has darker green pants and dark yellow tennis shoes.
Personality: He can be quiet around people he doesn't know, but boisterous and adventurous when with friends. He finds Grass- and Electric-Type Pokemon calming and fun to be with, so he specializes in those types. He can be a bit paranoid, however, due to some anxiety. He's also gay, but not flamboyantly so.
Strengths: Quick-witted and holds a lot of information from his adventures when he was with his tutor (another OC of mine).
Flaws: Can sometimes forget this information, and will try unorthodox techniques that may also backfire on him and his Pokemon.
Brief History: He's collected all 16 badges from Kanto and Johto, the first 3 badges in Hoenn, all 8 Sinnoh badges, the first 4 Unovan Badges (before Team Plasma's resurgence), the first 5 Kalosian badges, and has the first 7 Z-Crystals from Alola. He has never competed in a contest, nor wants to. He wanted to start his journey when he was 10, but his parents told him it was too dangerous and his father wanted him to be in business like him. Outraged, he biked from Saffron City all the way to Pallet Town to get his first starter. He got Joltz as an Eevee and journeyed around the region to find his place. He finally showed his parents that it wasn't so bad when he had beaten Giovanni and gotten all 8 gym badges. Her mother felt happy for him, but his father was still annoyed he ran off. Despite this, he told them he was going with a tutor to see Johto, and left. He hardly talks to his mother, and doesn't even talk to his father anymore, but has proven he doesn't need them anymore.
Family: Rich businessmanly father, Annoying Stay-at-home mother, and no siblings
Love Relationships?: He has a crush on another OC of mine.
Main Pokémon Team: Venusaur, Kantonian Exeggutor, Jumpluff, Luxray, Emolga, and Heliolisk.
Pokémon Switch-Ins: Breloom and Alolan Golem
Extra: He will have his Jolteon and Leafeon with him, but they won't fight. Also, posted this at 11:30 am.

Species: Venusaur - [type]Grass[/type][type]Poison[/type]
Nickname: Fushi
Gender: Male
Ability: Overgrow - Powers up Grass-Types moves when in a pinch (below 1/3 of max stamina).
Held Item: Black Sludge - When held by a Poison-Type, it will heal. If held by a non-Poison-Type, will damage. It is situated on an anklet on his front right foot.
Hidden Power Type: Rock
Special Features: He is smaller than most Venusaur. The average Venusaur is 6'07" (2.0 m), but he only reaches to about 6'04" (2.0 m).
Strengths: He is very tough and can take most hits like a champ. He's also quite adept at using his vines to protect himself.
Flaws: He isn't very fast and is not physically strong, either.
Quick History: As a Bulbasaur, he was abandoned by his trainer in Viridian Forest for not meeting up to the trainer's standards. The Bulbasaur found Sean and followed him around a bit, as he saw a strong bond between Sean and his Eevee, Joltz. When Sean found him, he saw that the Bulbasaur was a little malnourished, so he gave him some food to help feed him. Wary at first, Fushi ate the food, but soon grew to trust him in a short span of time. Eventually joining him and seeing that this kid was really fun, Fushi now has full trust in his trainer. He evolved when Sean went to Vermilion City when he encountered his previous trainer, and again against Koga in Fuchsia City.
Personality: He is very wary of other humans, even 10 years after being abandoned by the previous trainer before Sean. He is quite serious at times, but can be pretty docile and loves to cuddle.
Game-Equivalent Level: 80
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: Physical Attacks
Can Swim?: He can swim, but not very well.

Species: Kantonian Exeggutor - [type]Grass[/type][type]Psychic[/type]
Nickname: Eggy
Gender: Male
Ability: Chlorophyll - Doubles Speed when under harsh sunlight.
Held Item: Twisted Spoon - Raises power of Psychic-Type moves by 20%. Is strapped to the main head.
Hidden Power Type: Rock
Special Features: He is larger than most Exeggutors. The average Exeggutor is 6'07" (2.0 m), but he is 7'00" (2.1 m).
Strengths: He is very strong when it comes to his Psychic powers and his Special Attacks. He also is smart to know the kind of move and Pokemon that he will be dealing with.
Flaws: Sadly, can't exactly take too many hits and isn't the fastest thing on the planet. He can sidestep quickly, but can't run really fast.
Quick History: Was founded in the Safari Zone (at the time, was North of Fuchsia City). He captured an Exeggcute, thinking that it would help him fight against Koga after losing there several times. Turned out that it actually turned the tide of battle and allowed Fushi the last hit. Eggy then evolved later with the Leaf Stone after Sean made it to Viridian City.
Personality: Despite the fact that the Exeggutor species are known for being quite loud, this Exeggutor is actually very quiet and takes his time in everything outside of a battle. He may appear to be slow, but that's because his three heads are discussing something between them.
Game-Equivalent Level: 80
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: Physical Moves
Can Swim?: No.

Species: Jumpluff- [type]Grass[/type][type]Flying[/type]
Nickname: Wata
Gender: Female
Ability: Chlorophyll - Speed is doubled when under harsh sunlight.
Held Item: Heat Rock - Extends the duration of Sunny Day. Is attached by way of a forehead band with a bed for it.
Hidden Power Type: Fire
Special Features: Is smaller than the average Jumpluff. The average Jumpluff is 2'07" (0.8 m), but Wata is 2'00" (0.6 m).
Strengths: She is very quick and fast and uses this to her advantage to dodge attacks. She also is always there to help others in need, even if it means sacrificing herself for her team to win.
Flaws: She can be too caring and a strategy her trainer will try and set up will become useless as she'll get knocked out. She isn't very strong or durable when in battle, so she will quickly get knocked out if she isn't careful and isn't the most reliable Pokemon to set up with.
Quick History: After Sean and his tutor made it to Johto for his journey, he immediately spotted a cloud of Hoppips over him when in New Bark Town. After his tutor explained to him that Hoppips can live on Route 29 nearby during the warm seasons, he immediately went out to get one. He found Wata, her small size catching Sean's attention immediately. After Wata was unable to fly away with the rest of her group, Sean's tutor told him that it was probably a good idea to catch her and gave him a few reasons as to why. Convinced to teach Wata on how to fly, Sean caught her. After evolving into a Skiploom at Goldenrod City, she became the best flyer he owned (he has other Flying-Types, one of them being a Tropius), beating Whitney by annoying her team with status moves. She then evolved again when Sean was fighting Chuck at Cianwood City. She evolved, and her sacrifice after her evolution helped gain Sean a badge.
Personality: She is extremely cuddly and very optimistic, as she sees the best in every outcome. She can also be a little childlike, but knows what people are talking about.
Game-Equivalent Level: 80
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: She avoids attacking in general, but she still knows the moves. She will mostly use status moves.
Can Swim?: Not exactly... No. Water actually causes her to get so heavy that she'll fall to the ground.

Species: Luxray - [type]Electric[/type]
Nickname: Tora
Gender: Female
Ability: Guts - Doubles Attack when afflicted with a status condition, and doesn't lose Attack due to a burn.
Held Item: Weakness Policy - Increases Attack and Special Attack sharply (by two) if it by a move it is weak to (in this case, Ground-Type). Is attached to Luxray's back by smooth twine to hold it in place.
Hidden Power Type: Psychic
Special Features: She is larger than the average Luxray. The average Luxray is 4'07" (1.4 m). She is 5'00" (1.5 m). She also has a smaller mane to indicate she's a female, and her tail is slightly longer. She also has enough muscle to carry someone around on her back.
Strengths: She is very strong and fast, capable of dishing out attacks and then speeding off to avoid attacks. She will even attack without needing instructions from Sean.
Flaws: She's also headstrong, ignoring Sean's orders sometimes, especially when she sees a flaw in Sean's unorthodox plans, just finds it convenient for her, or when she gets angry.
Quick History: While on a journey that was supposed to be quick, but turned into two years, Sean was traveling Sinnoh and found Tora as a Shinx on Route 202. She was exceptionally really aggressive for a female Shinx, so he called up his tutor to get her advice on the Pokemon. She told him to get the Pokemon, as it would prove to be a wonderful companion. When he caught her, he noticed that she'd get stronger every time she attained a status condition, so he guessed that she had Guts. He called his tutor up about the discovery, and his tutor was ecstatic that she was right, and that it was really rare to find a Pokemon with a Hidden Ability. After that, Tora evolved at Eterna Forest trying to protect Sean from a bunch of Ghost-Types, and then again when against Fantina at Hearthome City.
Personality: She is quite the aggressive one. She loves battling and will initiate battles without the consent of Sean. Because of this, she will freely battle without his consent and will ignore his instructions and will use moves that he won't even call for. Despite this, she is very caring towards Sean and thinks of him as a little brother.
Game-Equivalent Level: 80
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: Status moves, except for Roar on small occasions.
Can Swim?: Yes, very well.

Species: Emolga - [type]Electric[/type][type]Flying[/type]
Nickname: Momo
Gender: Female
Ability: Static - When hit with an attack that makes direct contact, the attacker has a 30% chance of getting paralyzed.
Held Item: Leftovers - Restores 1/16 of the Pokemon's maximum stamina each turn when held. Is attached via necklace.
Hidden Power Type: Fighting
Special Features: Is smaller than the average Emolga. The average Emolga is 1'04" (0.4 m). Momo is 1'00" (0.3 m).
Strengths: She is exceptionally fast in the air, but isn't as fast as Wata. She is also quite self-sacrificing, but only if there is no other option.
Flaws: She isn't the strongest Pokemon, and won't be able to hold her own in a battle.
Quick History: Sean, while in the Unova region for a quick journey, had found Emolga on Route 5 after he had found Elesa using one in his recent gym battle with her. He caught the smallest one, and taught her how to fly after he found her struggling. She wasn't the strongest Pokemon on his team, but she did faint a lot to help the team out, helping to tire the Pokemon out before she gets knocked out.
Personality: She is very sweet and kind to most Pokemon, but treats Ice-Type Pokemon like they are the bane of her existence. She tries to stay away from them since they make her so cold, but when forced to be nice, she tries to force a smile and make one-worded responses. Normally, she'll be hiding behind Sean when she sees an Ice-Type.
Game-Equivalent Level: 80
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: Physical moves.
Can Swim?: No, and the water will cause her trouble on flying.

Species: Heliolisk- [type]Electric[/type][type]Normal[/type]
Nickname: Helios
Gender: Male
Ability: Solar Power - Increases Pokemon's Special Attack by 1.5x but the Pokemon loses 1/8 of its maximum stamina gradually when under harsh sunlight.
Held Item: Wise Glasses - Boosts the power of Special Attacks by 10%. Wears them like how you wear glasses.
Hidden Power Type: Water
Special Features: Is larger than the average Heliolisk. The average Heliolisk is 3'03" (1.0 m). He is 3'11" (1.2 m). He also has green eyes instead of blue.
Strengths: He is exceptionally fast and powerful at a distance, and knows when he has had enough of the sun, and will cause the rain to fall to help keep himself from getting damaged by any outside sources.
Flaws: Isn't strong or durable physically and will quickly run off when someone gets too close. Albeit cool-looking, he can get a little panicked when the Pokemon won't let off.
Quick History: While Sean was in Kalos for a short journey, he had found Helios as a Helioptile on Route 9. Seeing that he was actively getting hurt by... Nothing it seemed like, Sean took him in and tried to heal him. After healing him, he noticed that after some sun exposure, Helios actually kept getting worse until he was so tired he couldn't move. Sean called up his tutor at this time and she told him that he had either Dry Skin or Solar Power. Sean figured out that he had Solar Power after trying to splash Helios with water, to which he got a very unamused expression from his Pokemon, to which he caught afterwards. Helios evolved via Sun Stone after seeing how powerful Clemont's Heliolisk was and wanted to be like him.
Personality: Helios is very gentle towards mostly everyone and it takes a lot to break his composure. He loves to cuddle underneath shade and will even play in the rain with smaller Pokemon. He also loves baths.
Game-Equivalent Level: 80
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: Physical moves.
Can Swim?: Yes, but is not very good at it.

Species: Breloom- [type]Grass[/type][type]Fighting[/type]
Nickname: Kapi
Gender: Male
Ability: Poison Heal - When poisoned or badly poisoned, the Pokemon will gain 1/8 of its maximum stamina gradually instead of taking damage.
Held Item: Toxic Orb - Badly Poisons the holder. Is attached via a choker-like necklace.
Hidden Power Type: Ground
Special Features: Is smaller than the average Breloom. The average Breloom is 3'11" (1.2 m). Kapi is 3'00" (0.9 m). He also has a notch on the mushroom's edge on his head.
Strengths: He is exceptionally fast and powerful physically. His slight reckless behavior helps in busting through Pokemon's defenses and destroying them.
Flaws: He isn't very tough and his reckless behavior will cause him some trouble as he gets hurt more than often enough. He also gets angry very easily, and is very much a wild card for Sean to use. He is worse than Tora and will actively try to hurt the Pokemon any way he can, even going so far as ignoring Sean and even hunting down the Pokemon and their trainer after the battle.
Quick History: Sean found some potential in a very small Shroomish he found in Petalburg Woods and decided to train him. He noticed that Shroomish was very headstrong and it got worse as he evolved into Breloom after he had beaten Brawly at Dewford Town. He could hardly control him as he was battling Wattson, but won because of Kapi's power. Sean vowed to himself that he'll keep the short Pokemon in his Poke Ball to keep him from hurting anyone.
Personality: He is normally pretty laid-back, but once you call him short or beat him enough, and he'll completely lose it. He will immediately challenge the person if they call him short, and will even try to box with the human. He won't relent until Sean puts him back in his Poke Ball.
Game-Equivalent Level: 80
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: Status moves, unless they power him up.
Can Swim?: No

Species: Alolan Golem- [type]Rock[/type][type]Electric[/type]
Nickname: Goro
Gender: Male
Ability: Galvanize - Causes all Normal-Type moves used by the Pokemon to become Electric-Type and receive a 20% power boost on top of the STAB.
Held Item: Magnet - Powers up Electric-Type moves by 20%.
Hidden Power Type: Ice
Special Features: Is larger than the average Alolan Golem. The average Alolan Golem is 5'07" (1.7 m). Goro is 6'00" (1.8 m).
Strengths: He is exceptionally strong and durable physically, and will even willingly tank hits for others in a double battle (not that there will be any double battles in the actual tournament XD).
Flaws: He is very slow and will have a hard time getting close to a Pokemon if they are keeping a distance and throwing special attacks at him, as he will get taken down quite easily.
Quick History: While Sean was out exploring Alola, he found out about Ula'Ula Island from Sophocles, as he told him that there was an Electric-Type he'd like over there. After traveling there, he had found an Alolan Geodude, who felt like he was super charged with electricity. During the battle, he called his tutor again and asked what kind of ability this Pokemon had, and she told him that he might have Galvanize, very rare for his species. When he heard that, he had to have him. After capturing him, Goro evolved when being trained at his tutor's home. After Goro wished to evolve again, Sean didn't know how. His tutor offered to trade Goro to her, and then trade him back. Sean liked the idea and went for it, and now he has a very powerful Pokemon on his team, thanks to his tutor.
Personality: He is very relaxed and laid-back Pokemon, and will allow small Pokemon to play on his body when he is half-submerged into the ground when tired. He will make sure no one is hurt and will try to help others if they are. It takes a lot to break his composure because of his relaxed nature and he tends to take naps a lot.
Game-Equivalent Level: 80
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: Special Attacks.
Can Swim?: No...
Species: Jolteon - [type]Electric[/type]
Nickname: Joltz
Gender: Male
Ability: Volt Absorb - Heals the Pokemon by 1/4 of its maximum stamina when hit by an Electric-Type move, and will deal no damage.
Held Item: Muscle Band - Boosts power of physical moves by 10%.
Hidden Power Type: Water
Special Features: Has sharper and pointier fur than most Jolteon, but is the average height.
Strengths: He is exceptionally fast and physically powerful and knows how to woo the ladies. ;)
Flaws: His wooing fails spectacularly once they know he's been stalking them to get the information he needs to win them over. He's also not exactly the toughest Pokemon.
Quick History: When Sean was running away from his parents from Saffron City, he made his way towards Pallet Town to start his journey, something that his parents frowned upon. After making his way to Professor Oak, he demanded that he get a Pokemon. Oak decided to give the boy an Eevee, but warned him that he was extremely rambunctious. He ignored Oak and kept this Eevee with him through every journey he had. He eventually evolved him after hitting Fuchsia City, when Joltz noticed he needed to be faster. The first stone Sean found was a Thunder Stone and gave it to Joltz, lucky that he found one pertaining to the Electric-Type evolution. Joltz has been with him through thick and thin ever since and refused to leave his side.
Personality: He's very much a hopeless romantic and really wants to get together with a fellow female Eeveelution, but fails spectacularly. He can be quite mischievous and pulls pranks on his trainer all the time. Despite this silly behavior, he's actually extremely loyal and loves to cuddle.
Game-Equivalent Level: 100
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: He doesn't care what moves he learns.
Can Swim?: Yes, pretty well.

Species: Leafeon - [type]Grass[/type]
Nickname: Arboria
Gender: Female
Ability: Leaf Guard - Protects the Pokemon from being afflicted by burns, being poisoned, paralyzed, falling asleep, and being frozen when under harsh sunlight.
Held Item: Miracle Seed - Powers up Grass-Type moves by 20%.
Hidden Power Type: Rock
Special Features: Because of how old she is, her fresh grass smell is slowly becoming the smell of fallen leaves and the edges of her leaves are becoming rusty looking.
Strengths: She isn't the fastest, but isn't the slowest, and is exceptionally powerful and durable.
Flaws: Will become too stubborn in the heat of battle and do what she thinks is right and ignores Sean.
Quick History: When Sean was done adventuring around the Johto region with his tutor, his tutor gave him an Eevee egg and told him to take great care of it. When it hatched, the Eevee had great potential in being a Leafeon, what with her mannerisms and such. It took her until her second journey with him to Sinnoh in Eterna Forest to realize she wanted to be a Leafeon and trained near the mossy rock. She evolved there and helped won Sean's first battle against Gardenia and became a powerhouse in the Sinnoh region. Seeing how fast he was blowing through the gyms, he was wondering if he should then compete against the Elite Four. After his crippling defeat at the first member, he decided that battling the Elite Four wasn't his main objective, so he traveled around some more, Arboria always by his side.
Personality: Is very calm and relaxed, but loves to cuddle. She can be a little serious, but wouldn't give anything to cuddle someone.
Game-Equivalent Level: 100
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: Special Moves.
Can Swim?: No, not too well.

Because his Jolteon and Leafeon are too integral to his person, I'm including them. But they will not be used in the official tournament battles. Outside battles, yes. That goes for any "spectating Pokemon" your characters wish to bring.

Name: Nina Schulz
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Birthplace/Hometown: Snowpoint City, Sinnoh
Appearance
Height: 5'4" (163 cm)
Weight: 155 lbs
Hair Color/Length/Style: Wild, messy mouse brown hair reaching just past her shoulders.
Eye Color: A dull grayish blue
Identifying Marks (i.e. tattoos, piercings, freckles, etc.): Nina used to be part of a gang, and still has a blue and pink star tattoo on her right upper arm from those days. She usually keeps it covered up with a black armband though.
Musculature: After many years of traveling, training, and pushing her limits, Nina has built up a lean, muscular frame. It wouldn't be a stretch to call her a dedicated athlete at this point. When training her Pokemon, she will sometimes spar with them personally, though this is more for low level Pokemon than her main team.
Clothing: Nina usually dresses very lightly, since growing up in Snowpoint City has caused her to develop a natural tolerance for the cold. Her usual outfit consists of a black top with torn, faded jeans and a pair of brown hiking boots. Lately Nina has taken to sporting a pair of aviator shades, though she usually takes them off when she's talking to someone. Lastly, Nina never goes anywhere without her signature item, a purple newsboy hat.
Personality: Nina is a very brash, strong willed woman who always makes sure that she is heard when she wants to. She considers brutal honesty to be the best approach to any situation, as she hates having to hide her true thoughts and feelings. Needless to say this often lands her into regrettable social situations, not that she minds what others say about her (most of the time). Nina is also a notorious flirt who prides herself in being a "hit with the ladies." Compounded with her reckless, head-on approach to social situations, this leads to her striking up "friendly conversations" with an innumerable number of women. Incidentally, she has never been on a date in her life. In most cases, Nina doesn't care to take things very seriously. She'll take bad situations and try to laugh at them, even when it isn't exactly appropriate to do so. Above all else though, Nina holds her Pokemon in the highest possible regard. She goes out of her way to treat them as equals, and loathes those few that see Pokemon as tools. This is one of the very few issues Nina will get worked up over, though there are others.
Strengths: Nina, for all of her faults, is a good person to have on your side. She will stick her neck out for those she cares about without hesitation, and unless she flips her lid she can usually deal with problems effectively, if a bit unconventionally. Nina has become a highly skilled trainer over the course of her 10 year career. She knows her team's strengths and weaknesses like the back of her hand, and she can think on her feet when the going gets tough.
Flaws: When Nina does get worked up over something, she completely loses her cool. She will throw caution to the wind and go out of her way to get back at people. Issues Nina will get worked up over include cowardice, poor treatment of Pokemon, and insulting those who are close to her. In addition, her battling style becomes very predictable when she loses her temper. All of her experience means nothing in that state. Her headstrong attitude also causes her to be seen as rude and insensitve, which to be fair, she is. Nina is, by and large, a complete dunce when it comes to social finesse and delicacy. Lastly, due to never having landed a date in her 22 years of living, Nina has become fairly insecure about finding a romantic partner. She usually keeps this to herself.
Brief History: Before she was a trainer, Nina was cripplingly shy, and lived as a recluse cooped up in her room. The girl hated being this way, but no matter how hard she tried she couldn't bring herself to change. A couple months before she turned 12, Nina decided to travel abroad to Hoenn with her partner Ruhig, a Sneasel who was more of a house pet than a fighter at the time. The idea was that the new experience would shock her system enough to force her to come out of her shell. However, all it really did was leave the girl paralyzed with fear in Slateport City as soon as the ferry left.

Eventually though, a gang of punks took Nina under their wing. They trained her up and even helped her catch a few Pokemon. Most importantly though, they were able to break through Nina's shyness, and after a few months she was practically part of the family. Nina was part of this gang until she was almost 15, eventually leaving to take on the gym challenge of Hoenn. She still has her tattoo from the gang, and refuses to remove it. She plans on returning to them once she's become a champion, if that ever happens. Current day, Nina has travelled across multiple regions, completing the gym challenges of Hoenn, Kanto, Sinnoh, and Kalos respectively, and has participated in her fair share of tournaments. However, at the moment she has yet to take home a championship title. She has also travelled to Virbank City in Unova and Akala Island in Alola, but those were mostly vacation trips with some light training sessions.

Family: Nina has a sister, Lisa, who started her own career as a trainer about 4 years after Nina left home, at the age of 10. They both lived with their mother, a shrine keeper at the Snowpoint Temple and a very caring, if superstitious woman.
Love Relationships?: A girl can dream. ;_;
Main Pokémon Team: Drapion, Weezing, Primeape, Masquerain, Aggron, Altaria
Pokémon Switch-Ins: Weavile, Bibarel
Extra: Final edit made at 1:36 PM EST

Species: Drapion
Nickname: Anmut
Gender: Female
Ability: Battle Armor
Held Item (if any): Razor Claw: Raises the Critical Hit ratio of the holder by 1. Broken in half, with each piece strapped to one of the two pincers on her tail.
Hidden Power Type: Ground
Special Features: Anmut is notably larger than the average Drapion specimen, clocking in at a height of 4'8" and weighing almost 160 lbs.
Strengths: By far the most powerful member of Nina's team. Anmut possesses a great amount of brute strength, can take a fair amount of punishment, and is surprisingly agile.
Flaws: Like her trainer, Anmut becomes very predictable when enraged, and while Nina has managed to mostly reign in Anmut's temperment after so many years, she still has a history of mid-battle outbursts.
Quick History: Anmut was one of the later additions to Nina's team, caught many years after she first started her journey, and just over half a year before her debut in tournament battles. Anmut was found in the Great Marsh of Pastoria City, fully evolved, powerful, and quite dangerous. Nina, along with a small group of other trainers who happened to be passing through the town, were employed to pacify the Drapion before it could cause irreversable damage to the surrounding area. Nina caught her on a whim while the other trainers were holding it back. While quite unruly at first, Anmut eventually began to bond with Nina, and over the years she has become Nina's ace in the hole.
Personality: As noted before, Anmut has the potential to be quite ferocious. However, for the most part this only applies when in combat. Outside of battle she is much more calm and collected than one would expect, and although slow to warm up to people she is very loyal to those she cares about.
Game-Equivalent Level: 88
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: While Anmut is a very agile fighter, she prefers to stay in one spot in combat. As such, she avoids the use of speed/momentum oriented moves.
Can Swim?: Not a chance.

Species: Weezing
Nickname: Rauch
Gender: Male
Ability: Levitate
Held Item (if any): Float Stone: Halves the holder's weight. Strrapped to the center sphere connecting the two heads.
Hidden Power Type: Psychic
Special Features: None in particular, though it should be noted that Rauch's heads are not seperate entities. He basically has two mouths and two sets of eyes.
Strengths: Rauch has the ability to levitate, giving him the ability to easily disengage from grounded foes. After much training, he is able to overcome his lack of natural speed by propelling himself through the air with bursts of gas. Due to his light weight, he is able to lessen the blow from most physical attacks by allowing the momentum to naturally carry him.
Flaws: Rauch's battle style hinges upon remaining airborne and keeping his foes at a distance. Rauch becomes a sitting duck when grounded, and he cannot match the mobility of most other airborne fighters.
Quick History: Rauch was found in the Fiery Path at the base of Mt. Chimney, and was the very first Pokemon Nina actually caught. Even as a Koffing, Rauch was notably adventerous and fearless, not to mention affectionate. In Nina's early days as a trainer, he and Ruhig were essentially Nina's protection squad, and to this day Rauch is still very protective of his trainer.
Personality: Rauch is the embodiment of courageousness, and has a heart of gold to go along with it.
Game-Equivalent Level: 83
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: Since his battling style revolves around spacing, Rauch avoids moves that involve either physical contact or being at close range in general. He also flat out refuses to learn Explosion, not that Nina would want him to anyway.
Can Swim?: He hardly needs to, but he can definitely float if need be.

Species: Primeape
Nickname: Patch
Gender: Male
Ability: Vital Spirit
Held Item (if any): Muscle Band: Slightly increases the power of the holder's physical moves. Wrapped around his upper right arm.
Hidden Power Type: Dark
Special Features: About half a foot shorter than most Primeape. Is notably calm and tranquill most of the time, especially considering his species. Has basic cooking skills and knows his tea.
Strengths: Patch is a very up close and personal fighter. He can close the distance between him and his opponent very quickly and keep up the pressure in an all out brawl. Hits hard and fast.
Flaws: Unfortunately, Patch can't take half of what he dishes out. A couple well placed hits and he's down for the count. His only hope is to dodge whatever comes at him, and even though he's fast in his own right Patch is hardly a speed demon.
Quick History: Patch is the newest member of Nina's crew, having been on the team for just over 3 years. He was caught as a Mankey during a vacation to Kanto, attracted to the smell of food from a festival in Viridian City.
Personality: Patch is notably mild mannered, especially when compared to other Primeape. When he isn't training, he usually spends his days relaxing, going on leisurely strolls, or just conversing with his fellow teammates.
Game-Equivalent Level: 79
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: Patch cannot take hits, and his battling style revolves around knocking out opponents as fast as possible. As such, he doesn't waste his time with stat boosting moves, or anything that takes more than one turn to perform.
Can Swim?: Pretty well in fact!

Species: Masquerain
Nickname: Demeter
Gender: Female
Ability: Intimidate
Held Item (if any): Bright Powder: Lowers the accuracy of moves used against the holder. Spread across her wings, giving them slight reflective properties.
Hidden Power Type: Ice
Special Features: None in particular.
Strengths: Demeter is often the leading member in battles, setting up ideal conditions for the rest of the team. She's no slouch in the power department either, and on occasion has brought down multiple Pokemon in a single battle all on her own.
Flaws: It's very rare that Demeter gets the chance to show off her full power since she requires quite a bit of time to build up said power. It doesn't take much to stop her in her tracks, so she's usually relegated to support roles.
Quick History: Demeter was caught as a Surskit in a pond near the Hoenn Safari Zone after Nina officially began the gym challenge.
Personality: Demeter is usualky very shy and reserved, even around her teammates. She's friendly enough, but prefers to keep to herself when she has a choice.
Game-Equivalent Level: 81
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: Demeter avoids any and all physical moves like the plague.
Can Swim?: Can rest on water, but cannot actually swim.

Species: Aggron
Nickname: Hephaestus
Gender: Male
Ability: Rock Head
Held Item (if any): Assault Vest: Greatly increases the wearer's Special Defense, restricts the use of non-damaging moves. Worn as a standard chest piece stretched across his torso thanks to the incredible elasticity of the fabric.
Hidden Power Type: Electric
Special Features: None unique from the species, though it is worth noting that Aggron in general are capable of more mobility than they appear.
Strengths: Possesses incredible defensive power, and is able to shrug off most direct hits. In addition, the law of inertia works in Hepaestus' favor when he charges forward, making him incredibly difficult to stop. Can hold his ground for extended periods of time.
Flaws: While not easy to stop, Hephaestus has to be smart about when he charges, or else he becomes very easy to dodge. In addition, once he gets going it becomes difficult to change directions. Usually his only options are to either stop in his tracks or crash.
Quick History: Hephaestus was captured as a scrappy young Aron in Granite Cave on Dewford Island. Though he was always a willing participant in battles, he didn't fully evolve until after Nina left Hoenn.
Personality: Hephaestus is a very jolly, rambunctious Pokemon who sometimes doesn't know his own strength. He likes to put on a tough guy act when in combat, but anyone who!/ known him for more than a few moments can easily tell that he's a big softy.
Game-Equivalent Level: 86
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: Hephaestus is open to learning almost any move, though the Assault Vest he wears restricts his options purely to offense.
Can Swim?: Paradoxically, some Aggron can in fact learn Surf. Hephaestus is not one of these Aggron. He will sink.

Species: Altaria
Nickname: Nimbus
Gender: Female
Ability: Natural Cure
Held Item (if any): Leftovers: Restores a little of the user's health every turn. Nested in Nimbus' front plumage.
Hidden Power Type: Grass
Special Features: Nimbus has a much larger wingspan than most Altaria, and the cloud like feathers that adorn her are, for lack of a better term, "super fluffy."
Strengths: Nimbus is essentially the team's wild card. Be if defense, offense, disruption, or support, there is no role that Nimbus cannot play to some degree.
Flaws: By the same token, there is nothing that Nimbus particularly excels at either. A more skilled Pokemon can outperform her once they get a hang of predicting her wild changes in battle styles.
Quick History: Nina caught Nimbus as a Swablu at the base of Meteor Falls around the halfway point of her Hoenn journey. In addition to her versatility in battling, Nimbus also serves as Nina's flight transport in a pinch.
Personality: Nimbus is the type of Pokemon to give you cavities with her sweetness. You would be hard pressed to find a purer soul than her.
Game-Equivalent Level: 84
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: While Nimbus prefers fighting from long range, she is open to learning any type of move.
Can Swim?: Only on the surface of waterbeds.

Species: Weavile
Nickname: Ruhig
Gender: Male
Ability: Pickpocket
Held Item: Focus Sash: Allows the holder to hang on from an attack that would normally knock them out. Worn around the waist.
Hidden Power Type: Ghost
Strengths: Ruhig is the epitome of what a swift battler aspires to be. He's blindingly fast, hits hard, and looks absolutely stunning while doing it. Being Nina's very first Pokemon, he's also the most experienced of every member of the team.
Flaws: That Focus Sash isn't just for looks. Ruhig is very frail, especially in the face of physical attacks. All it usually takes is one good hit to knock him out cold. In addition, he sometimes has a tendency to get carried away with his theatrics mid battle unless Nina reels him back in.
Quick History: Described in Nina's history section.
Personality: Ruhig has a taste for the dramatic, and on more than one occasion has tried to drag Nina into Pokemon Contests. Unless the battle is particularly serious, he always tries to incorporate his own stylish flair in battle. He also has a knack for keeping Nina in line, and will often slam her with a Knock Off attack when he thinks things are going too far, though he's loosened the leash a bit over the years.
Game Equivalent Level: 89
Range of Moves they Avoid Learning: Ruhig will learn anything as long as it is sufficiently flashy.
Can Swim?: Check out his backstroke.

Species: Bibarel
Nickname: Hudson
Gender: Male
Ability: Moody
Held Item: White Herb: Restores the holder's lowered stat(s) to normal. One time use. Worn as a necklace.
Hidden Power Type: Dark
Strengths: Hudson is an...interesting case. You never really know what role he'll play, and he changes his mind on a whim. He's indecisive like that. As the saying goes though, if he puts his mind to it, he excels.
Flaws: Unfortunately this also goes the other way around. It seems that Hudson is fundamentally incapable of doing well in one thing without failing horribly at another. Just keeping up with his indecisiveness is har enough for Nina. Planning around it is another story entirely.
Quick History: Hudson was given to Nina as an egg from her mother upon her return to Sinnoh, as a sort of "welcome back" gift. Since then, raising the little thing from a flighty Bidoof into an even more flighty Bibarel has given Nina her fair share of joy and frustration. She can't help but love him though.
Personality: Hudson is a generally carefree Pokemon, but at times he is prone to wild mood swings. This can make him a bit difficult to approach at first, but he always means well.
Game Equivalent Level: 75
Range of Moves they Avoid Learning: Hudson couldn't make up his mind on what moves he prefers if he tried, so he's always open to suggestions.
Can Swim?: Of course!

I just wanted to get something up really. I'll have the completed sheets for each Pokémon ready later.

EDIT: Added the first couple of Pokémon. The others should be finished tomorrow.

EDIT: Finished at last!

omg... if spectating Pokemon are allowed i was wondering if this little guy could get accepted. hes WAY too young to battle, hes mainly here for cuteness factor and for character bonding.

Species: Wimpod
Nickname: Tidepool
Gender: Male
Ability: Wimp Out
Held Item: Soothe Bell ribbon charm, tied around him like a collar.
Hidden Power Type: Dragon (31/24/31/11/7/29)
Special Features: Since he's so young, he's smaller than an average Wimpod.
Strengths: Irresistably loveable, would never do any harm to anyone.
Flaws: He's just a baby...
Quick History: Found as a egg that wild Murkrows were fighting over. Both Atty and Guz had stumbled onto the scene, shooing the bird Pokemon away and rescuing the egg. Unable to find any kind of nest nearby, the two took the egg into their care and ended up hatching it. Their bittersweet plan was to release him once he had hatched, but because he imprinted on them, they'll be permanently raising him. Although Atty keeps his Pokeball on her own self for safe keeping, the two simultaneously own and look after the Pokemon.
Personality: Naive (+Spd -Sp.Def) - Quick to flee
Game-Equivalent Level: 8
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning (optional): Unable to learn anything that isn't Struggle Bug or Sand Attack.
Can Swim?: He's learning! For now he can only do very shallow water.

Fire Mana

Previously Top_Smug_
Name: Parker Bell
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Birthplace/Hometown: Canalave City, Sinnoh
Appearance
  • Height: 5' 9''
  • Weight: 140 lbs
  • Hair Color/Length/Style: Black, medium (About to the eyes), combed a little to the left
  • Eye Color: Brown
  • Identifying Marks (i.e. tattoos, piercings, freckles, etc.): None
  • Musculature: Not slim or overweight, average build with some muscle
  • Clothing: Parker usually wears a black button-up letter jacket with with stripes on the collar, cuffs, and waist line. He also has very dark, almost black jeans and black tennis shoes with white soles. Also needs his eyeglasses to see at all.
Personality: Parker is typically alone, he avoids groups larger than 4 or so people. He has mild anxiety and severe depression, which makes him somewhat hard to approach. Even though he seems cold and distant, he warms up to people fairly quickly. He is extremely loyal and very trustworthy, the few friends he keeps mean more than anything to him. He's known to be somewhat clingy, but only occasionally. He's self sacrificial and gives things up to make others happy, and he's more likely to back down in an argument to avoid the confrontation.
Strengths: Calm and tactical in battle, even in situations where he has basically lost. Even though he's quiet and weak-willed in reality, in battles he becomes a different person entirely. The pain and insecurities he carries disappear when he is battling, and it's like an escape from his usually lonely, depressed outside life.
Flaws: Can still waver due to his mental problems, some things just really get to him. When he wavers, he wavers very hard. It's difficult for him to recover from these things, he needs his brain to be working correctly the whole time in a battle. If his tactics and cool head in battle fail him, he can crash and burn.
Brief History (Include the regions of which they’ve won championships, how many badges/ribbons/Z-Crystals/keys they’ve collected, and their general experience dealing with Pokémon): Parker grew up in Canalave City in the Sinnoh region. Due to his location, he was always surrounded by steel type Pokemon, as well as dark types. When it comes to dark types, they always fascinated him, the way they fought with tricks and gimmicks. Growing up, he spent a lot reading about dark types. He spent most of his time reading in the Canalave library actually, studying dark type Pokemon hoping to find more info on them. He never figured out much about other types, but he did become a master of dark type Pokemon. Parker collected all 8 of the Sinnoh League badges, but due to unfortunate match-ups, he was eliminated from the Sinnoh League in the top 32. Since then he has obtained all 8 Unova badges, 6 of the Kalos League badges, and 3 of the Hoenn League badges. He has been training with his Pokemon for roughly 8 years, and is confident in his relationships with them.
Family: Parents, both currently on field studies in Kanto. Also has an Uncle back in Canalave who captains a fishing boat off the shore of the city.
Love Relationships?: Eventually with April
Main Pokémon Team: Bisharp, Empoleon, Aegislash, Houndoom, Honchkrow, Mawile.
Pokémon Switch-Ins (basically, you have more Pokémon in your arsenal to choose from in between matches. I will only allow 2): Noivern, Garchomp.
Extra: Parker carries a canteen of green tea with him everywhere, he just really likes green tea. 10:12 PM

Species:
Bisharp
Nickname: King
Gender: Male
Ability: Defiant
Held Item (if any): Black Glasses, raises the power of Dark type moves by 20%. Wears them like anybody would wear glasses.
Hidden Power Type: Dragon
Special Features: His left arm blade is longer, sharper, and more polished than his right arm blade. (Won't affect damage in combat, just saying that it's sharper.) He also wears a black cloak around his neck, it hangs to his legs and is torn up towards the bottom.
Strengths: King is the best 1-on-1 fighter in Parker's team, he loves combat and rushes opponents with strong, unrelenting attacks. He also pretty agile, and can take some decent physical damage without faltering.
Flaws: King is kind of full of himself. This can lead him to either overestimate himself, or underestimate his opponents. Also, if his attacks are avoided or blocked, he can lose some of his bravado and motivation.
Quick History: King was given to Parker by his Uncle when he was a Pawniard. His Uncle's fishing team had found him washed up on the shore when they were returning from a fishing trip. At first, Parker and King fought because Parker preferred staying inside reading while King wanted to train and fight. After multiple quarrels, they found a compromise and Parker started studying how to become a Pokemon trainer.
Personality (their personality should be similar to their Nature and Characteristics, but there can be characters that deviate from this): Adamant Nature - King is the Pokemon that Parker has been with the longest, and the one he has the best bond with. He's tough and hard-headed and never backs down. He rushes straight into things without thinking, but it almost always somehow works out.
Game-Equivalent Level: 84
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning (optional): Anything ranged, King wants to fight up close.
Can Swim? (It doesn’t matter if they have Surf. If a Pikachu can swim without Surf, then this is a yes): No, King hates the water with a passion.

Species:
Empoleon
Nickname: Reign
Gender: Male
Ability: Torrent
Held Item (if any):
Lefotvers, keeps them in a pouch on his waist.
Hidden Power Type: Dark
Special Features: A little taller and bulkier than the average Empoleon
Strengths: Calm and collected in battle, effective at both close and ranged combat. Has a very strong bond with Parker, rivaling King's.
Flaws: When his calm is lost, Reign becomes a nervous wreck and can barely battle. Similar to Parker in that aspect.
Quick History: Reign was the Pokemon that Parker got when he officially started his journey in the Sinnoh region. He already had King, but Reign was the Pokemon he received from Professor Rowan. Reign is extremely similar to Parker, which makes them a natural battling duo. Their bond is almost as strong as the one Parker has with King, and they have a natural synergy that allows them to communicate without Parker even having to speak a word.
Personality (their personality should be similar to their Nature and Characteristics, but there can be characters that deviate from this): Quiet Nature - Reign is quiet and is thinking more than he isn't, likely about battle strategy. The only time Reign will listen to someone else's advice is when Parker gives him a command.
Game-Equivalent Level: 82
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning (optional): Nothing really, learns whatever he can
Can Swim? (It doesn’t matter if they have Surf. If a Pikachu can swim without Surf, then this is a yes): Y E S

Species:
Aegislash
Nickname: Durandal
Gender: Male
Ability: Stance Change
Held Item (if any): Spell Tag, stuck to the inside of his shield.
Hidden Power Type: Fire
Special Features: The eye of Durandal has a small glowing flame in the middle of it.
Strengths: Durandal is ridiculously strong when it comes to combat, and can take most damage thrown at it while dishing out punishment.
Flaws: Durandal doesn't like listening to orders, he's rebellious and makes his own decisions.
Quick History: Durandal was caught by Parker after it issued a duel to King, after multiple hours of head on clashing, Durandal actually emerged victorious and extremely weakened. Parker realized that he would prove useful, and took the opportunity to capture him.
Personality (their personality should be similar to their Nature and Characteristics, but there can be characters that deviate from this): Brave Nature- Durandal makes his own choices and charges into combat, relying on his own battle instincts to carry him forward. He also very much enjoys toying with his opponents and showing them just how much better he is.
Game-Equivalent Level: 82
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning (optional): Anything he deems "Weak"
Can Swim? (It doesn’t matter if they have Surf. If a Pikachu can swim without Surf, then this is a yes): No

Species:
Houndoom
Nickname: Scourge
Gender: Male
Ability: Flash Fire
Held Item (if any): Charcoal, he holds it in his mouth like a dog with a stick.
Hidden Power Type: Water
Special Features: Longer horns than the average Houndoom.
Strengths: Scourge has incredibly strong attacks and loves combat, making him an effective long range damage dealer.
Flaws: Scourge is sadistic and attacks indiscriminately, he just wants something to burn
Quick History: Parker found Scourge alone wandering the area near a town, none of the Pokemon nearby would approach him. Scourge hates other Pokemon and even humans, Parker was the only one to ever treat him kindly. In battle Scourge goes as far as burning Pokemon that have already fainted, and attacking his own teammates.
Personality (their personality should be similar to their Nature and Characteristics, but there can be characters that deviate from this): Rash Nature - Scourge hates everything, the pain that others inflicted on him in his early years made him cynical and filled with murderous intent. The only person who can calm this intent is Parker, the only person Scourge shows affection towards. Although he is scared of Queen and listens to her for some reason.
Game-Equivalent Level: 82
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning (optional): Opposite of King, won't learn anything close range.
Can Swim? (It doesn’t matter if they have Surf. If a Pikachu can swim without Surf, then this is a yes): Yes, but he despises it.

Species:
Honchkrow
Nickname: Erebus
Gender: Male
Ability: Super Luck
Held Item (if any): Scope Lens, worn on his eye
Hidden Power Type: Ghost
Special Features: Extra red feathers spread around randomly across his body, instead of just on his tail.
Strengths: Erebus is incredibly lucky, crits everywhere. Combined with his ability, item, and Night Slash... You're gonna get crit more often than not. He's also physically strong and decently fast.
Flaws: Erebus's damage output drops drastically when he isn't critting, luck is everything.
Quick History: Erebus hatched from an egg that was given to by Parker from the couple working at the Pokemon Day Care. Apparently the original owner didn't want the egg and left it at the Day Care, Parker ended up taking the egg and hatching it himself.
Personality: Quirky Nature - Erebus is hit or miss both in battle and with his personality. One second he's serious and calm, and the next he's clumsy and all over the place. Luckily, he's usually more cheerful and relaxed around Parker and the other Pokemon around him.
Game-Equivalent Level: 82
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning (optional): Nothing that he really avoids, but he favors moves with a higher chance to crit.
Can Swim? (It doesn’t matter if they have Surf. If a Pikachu can swim without Surf, then this is a yes): No

Species: Mawile
Nickname: Queen
Gender: Female
Ability: Sheer Force
Held Item (if any): Expert Belt
Hidden Power Type: Dark
Special Features: Taller than the average Mawile, she's around 2'8'' instead of the average 2'0''
Strengths: Good battler, much stronger than most Mawile. Especially good in double battles, particularly with King.
Flaws: She has quite the attitude. She constantly sasses Parker and King, especially King. She makes it very obvious when she doesn't agree with you.
Quick History: Queen was caught by Parker while he was in Hoenn. She was originally a wild Mawile that followed Parker and King around for days after watching King in a battle and falling for him. Even though she cares for both Parker and King deeply, she's still rather feisty with them. She's a strong battler on her own, but excels in double battles and loves supporting King while he fights.
Personality: Sassy Nature - Queen is normally a sweet Pokemon, but can quickly become upset. She's rather moody and you really need to stay on her good side if you don't want to be bit. She's sassy and a little bit rebellious, but she's also a romantic. She doesn't like to admit it, but King is definitely her weak spot and she is his.
Game-Equivalent Level: 80
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning (optional): Will learn anything that she can.
Can Swim? (It doesn’t matter if they have Surf. If a Pikachu can swim without Surf, then this is a yes): Yes, awkwardly.

Personality: She has a sweet, kind personality, always shows care for her friends and Pokemon, she enjoys shopping, performing, loves eating and also baking sweets.
Strengths: Pokemon Contests and Performances, and Baking

Oh, and quick question, would I be allowed to edit Max's appearance any? I kinda feel like it's incomplete...

You can make as many changes as you need to. Everyone is allowed to change their characters. Once the RP starts, that will be harder, since you'll also need to change all of your RP posts to reflect your character sheet.

Clothing: Nina usually dresses very lightly, since growing up in Snowpint City has caused her to develop a natural tolerance for the cold.

Love Relationships?: A girl can dream. ;_;
Main Pokémon Team: Drapion, Weezing, Primeape, Masquerain, Aggron, Altaria
Pokémon Switch-Ins: Weavile, Bibarel
Extra: N/A

I just wanted to get something up really. I'll have the completed sheets for each Pokémon ready later.

EDIT: Added the first couple of Pokémon. The others should be finished tomorrow.

Awesome! You are also forgetting something that you need to add in your Extra section (psst... It's in the Rules Section).

omg... if spectating Pokemon are allowed i was wondering if this little guy could get accepted. hes WAY too young to battle, hes mainly here for cuteness factor and for character bonding.

SO CUTE!! Love it! *stamps Pretty Pichu's symbol of approval*

Name: Parker Bell
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Birthplace/Hometown: Canalave City, Sinnoh
Appearance
  • Height: 5' 8''
  • Weight: 140 lbs
  • Hair Color/Length/Style: Black, medium (About to the eyes), combed a little to the left
  • Eye Color: Brown
  • Identifying Marks (i.e. tattoos, piercings, freckles, etc.): None
  • Musculature: Not slim or overweight, average build with some muscle
  • Clothing: Parker usually wears a black button-up letter jacket with with stripes on the collar, cuffs, and waist line. He also has very dark, almost black jeans and black tennis shoes with white soles.
Due to his location, he was always fascinated by steel type Pokemon, as well as dark types. When it comes to dark types, the Pokemon he is interested in the most is Darkrai. Growing up, some of his only friends and even family members were put into a never-ending sleep by Darkrai. He spent most of his time reading in the Canalave library, studying dark type Pokemon hoping to find a way to wake up the people in Canalave. He never figured out how to, but he did become a master of dark type Pokemon. Parker collected all 8 of the Sinnoh League badges, but due to unfortunate match-ups, he was eliminated from the Sinnoh League in the top 32. Since then he has obtained 6 of the Kalos League badges, and 3 of the Hoenn League badges. He has been training with his Pokemon for roughly 10 years, and is confident in his relationships with them.
Family: Parents, both currently put to sleep by Darkrai. Also has an Uncle back in Canalave who captains a fishing boat off the shore of the city.
Love Relationships?: None
Main Pokémon Team: Bisharp, Empoleon, Aegislash, Houndoom, Honchkrow, Zweilous.
Pokémon Switch-Ins (basically, you have more Pokémon in your arsenal to choose from in between matches. I will only allow 2): Noivern, Garchomp.
Extra: Parker carries a canteen of green tea with him everywhere, he just really likes green tea.

Species: Bisharp
Nickname: King
Gender: Male
Ability: Defiant
Held Item (if any): Black Glasses, raises the power of Dark type moves by 20%. Wears them like anybody would wear glasses.
Hidden Power Type: Dragon
Special Features: His left arm blade is sharper and more polished than his right arm blade. (Won't affect damage in combat, just saying that it's sharper.)
Strengths: King is the Pokemon that Parker has been with the longest, and the one he has the best bond with. He's tough and hard-headed and never backs down. King is the best 1-on-1 fighter in Parker's team, he loves combat and rushes opponents with strong, unrelenting attacks.
At first, Parker and King fought because Parker staying inside reading while King wanted to train and fight.
Game-Equivalent Level: 82
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning (optional): Anything ranged, King wants to fight up close.
Can Swim? (It doesn’t matter if they have Surf. If a Pikachu can swim without Surf, then this is a yes): No, King hates the water with a passion.

(I'LL ADD THE REST OF HIS POKEMON IN A BIT, JUST WANTED TO GET THIS OUT.)

I am so sorry, but you cannot have Darkrai in the backstory of your character unless you got admin permission. Also, you forgot to add something in the Extra section (you can find it in the rules section).

I'm gonna use Serena from the anime, with few tweaks, like her team.

Name: Serena
Age:19

  • Clothing: Her outfit consists of a grayish-black tank-top with a white collar, a red skirt, a dark pink hat with a black bow and hatband, black stockings, and black shoes, with a pink backpack.
Personality: She has a sweet, kind personality, always shows care for her friends and Pokemon, she enjoys shopping, performing, loves eating and also baking sweets.
Strengths: Pokemon Contests and Performances, and Baking
Flaws: Battling. She sucks at it really bad. Like, can't even beat Team Rocket in battle.
Brief History: basically just the plot of X and Y. Except stopping after the seventh gym. She only earned seven badges and pursued her dreams of being a Pokemon Performer, earning all three keys. She currently is traveling through Hoenn, competing in Pokemon contests
Family: Her only family is her mom.

Accepted :3 If she's going to be participating, she will have to have 6 Pokemon.

Cool. Yea, it said so in the rules for PRPs. Legendaries are heavily regulated here, so even having one in the backstory requires admin permission. I found that out when someone had their thread locked because they had a legendary in the backstory of their characters (and their set up and everything else was just god awful, too XD).

10:12 pm? Daaaang XD my timestamp for you is 1:07 pm. Are you 9 hours ahead? That's quite a bit. Or is that when you added the extra bit? XD Wait, west coast or east coast?

Fire Mana

Previously Top_Smug_
That should be alright, right? I changed the backstory so that instead of interacting with Darkrai like that directly he was only reading stories about him, because it's Canalave City and all.

It's good, but I am not too sure about the Darkrai still being in there. You should probably ask an admin about how much you can put the legendary in your bio. Better to be safe than sorry.

Cool XD okay XD but what does the timestamp for your bio say? Just curious. Does it say 10:12 pm? Because to me it says 1 pm and usually the minutes don't deviate, but the hours do. The last edit timestamp at the time said 9 minutes ago for me, and at that time it was 10:21 pm XD

Alright, here are my character bios.

Name: His name is Scott Stalt.
Age: He is roughly about 38 Years old.
Gender: Male
Birthplace/Hometown: His hometown is Nimbasa City, which is located in the region of Unova.
Appearance
  • Height: 5'6" / 167.64 cm
  • Weight: 137.4 lbs / 62.32 kg
  • Hair Color/Length/Style: He has short, gray hair with nothing too special, since it is as flat as a plain resting in a peaceful valley.
  • Eye Color: He has brown eyes.
  • Identifying Marks: His small mustache and his nightly violet monocle on his right eye.
  • Musculature: He has a skinny build with slight muscle mass.
  • Clothing: He wears a purple tuxedo with the collar being black with golden cufflinks on each sleeve in the area near his wrists. The backside of his tuxedo has a peculiar emblem of some sort, as it is composed of the letter sigma being in a modest shade of pink and being uppercase, while two black horizontal, parallel lines strike through the letter's central area. A small, purple circle comfortably sits in between these lines, as the circle has an outer black area protecting the shade from spreading around. He has on straight, purple pants styled with a smooth, formal feel to allow for bonus contest points. He also wears black, leather boots lacking any laces.
Personality: Scott is calm around most situations and often attempts to help others if needed after turning a new leaf. His emotions do not change as much, since his past made him adapted to handling such stressful events. When it comes to times of combat, he attempts to keep himself away from times of risk, since he does not want his shadow Pokémon causing too much trouble out there.
Strengths: Emotions do not get the better of him when under stress, as he can carefully think things through during emergency events. He also has expert knowledge about shadow Pokémon, being able to interact with them more easily than others can.
Flaws: Despite his expertise with shadow Pokémon, it is almost impossible to get his shadow Pokémon to obey him as a result of the dark aura often getting the better of them. His poor back strength often results in him being unable to perform most physical laboring tasks that a typical man could do with ease.
Brief History: Scott has obtained all badges in his journey through Unova, except for the Legend Badge when his Shadow Oshawott was defeated by a powerful thunder fang that left him in a coma for several days. His Shadow Oshawott and Flygon have several ribbons when their trainer went to Sinnoh to visit some friends and have quite the party in Hearthome City. Scott continues to strive towards his main goal of being able to get his Shadow Oshawott to become more friendly towards others by attempting to teach the little shadow Pokémon about emotional control.
Family: His mother and father both live in his hometown of Nimbasa City, as his parents run part of a theme park dedicated to kids and younger Pokémon afraid of the more wilder rides. He is also the only child in his family.
Love Relationships?: He has no love relationships at the moment, though this is always subject to change in the RP.
Main Pokémon Team: Shadow Oshawott, Flygon, Timburr, Ditto, Yamask, Slurpuff.
Pokémon Switch-Ins: Chimecho, Meganium.
Extra: (8:02 AM) He carries around a small, cubical device in his pocket that serves the purposes of a Pokédex, map and more. As a result of his back strength somewhat decreasing due to the amount of stress it took from a prior incident, the device is able to convert almost all matter into data and vice versa. (Though even the device can only hold so much as it has a data limit of around five hundred gigabytes. Data space is measured through the means of adding together the object's mass and volume.)
Species: Oshawott (Shadow Form)
Nickname: Although he is sometimes referred to as Riptide by some close Pokémon he knows, he likes to be referred to as his Pokémon species.
Gender: Male
Ability: Shell Armor (Grants the Pokémon immunity to critical hits in the field of combat.)
Held Item: He has on a pair of wide glasses, as they also help with his reading vision aside from allowing his special moves to become slightly more powerful.
Hidden Power Type: Dark
Special Features: He is a Shadow Pokémon, and as such, he is able to utilize various Shadow Moves. He also has a vastly different appearance that will be revealed in the RP. (Please see me for more information if needed.)
Strengths: He is extremely quick on his feet and is able to deflect most ranged attacks with ease. (Provided that he is not having to think about multiple decisions at once.) He is also able to go into hyper mode more easily and for an extended period of time, allowing himself to merilessly attack all that dare stand in his way without flinching towards any threat.
Flaws: His third strength can be used against him in combat, since he has no control of himself while in hyper mode. (Indicated by his dark aura becoming noticably visible and his behavior becoming erratic.) He tends to be disobedient towards his trainer when in combat, as his recklessness can often drive him into more trouble than his trainer can handle.
Quick History: He is Scott's first Pokémon, as he was somewhat tamed in the Pokémon laboratory in Unova before his trainer realized that he could not be completely purified as a result of his dark body refusing to turn over a new light.
Personality: Despite Shadow Oshawott still being considered a Shadow Pokémon, he is relatively calm and pliable until provoked. Once his anger sparks up, he often has a difficult time controlling himself, which often results in him aggressively pursuing the person or Pokémon responsible for stimulating his rage in the first place. His fluctuating emotions often leaves his trainer being extremely cautious with him as if he were a bomb about to go off.
Game-Equivalent Level: 88
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: He seems to try to learn almost any move he can when no one is around, though he does have quite a bit of trouble mastering the more powerful moves.
Can Swim?: Yes, he can swim... he is a Water-type for crying out loud!

Species: Flygon
Nickname: N/A
Gender: Male
Ability: Levitate (Grants the Pokémon immunity to all Ground-based moves by having the Pokémon constantly float in the air.)
Held Item: He carries around a small earth plate as a necklace.
Hidden Power Type: Ice
Special Features: Nothing too much, aside from being slightly smaller for his species' average size.
Strengths: He is able to fly around with swift speeds, allowing himself to be a much harder target to hit in the midst of battle. He is also able to brew up a sandstorm much more easily and maneuver around without much effort involved.
Flaws: He is afraid of becoming too cold, as he often resorts to kicking up various sandstorms during the day to keep himself warm. He also despises being within enclosed spaces.
Quick History: He is Scott's second and go-to Pokémon for getting around with minimal time after being unintentionally caught to protect it from an explosion set off in a factory in Unova.
Personality: He is calm, collective and attempts to please his trainer as much as he can. Because of this, it often results in a competition between him and Shadow Oshawott on a rivaling game of who gets the most attention.
Game-Equivalent Level: 82
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: He sometimes avoids learning physical moves since he does not like getting too close to other Pokémon in battling.
Can Swim?: Sadly, he cannot swim since he does not like going in the water at all.

Species: Timburr
Nickname: N/A
Gender: Male
Ability: Guts (Increases the Pokémon's attack stat by 50% if the Pokémon has a status condition. Stacks with other buffs.)
Held Item: He wears a black belt around his waist.
Hidden Power Type: Normal
Special Features: He has his hands and the top part of his head wrapped in a liberal layering of white wrapping bandages.
Strengths: He is able to use his wooden beam without much effort involved in combat. He is great at lying to others, since his voice often makes him sound innocent to the people in authority.
Flaws: Being unwilling to evolve has resulted in him not being able to have his full potential as his final evolution. He also tends to get picked on by a lot of other Pokémon as a result.
Quick History: He was befriended near the same factory Flygon was caught, and is Scott's third Pokémon.
Personality: He seems to be somewhat social, though he attempts to use reasoning as a first priority before shifting into the use of force. He tends to stand his ground when faced with an argument or when a brawl arouses.
Game-Equivalent Level: 80
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: He sometimes avoids learning special moves since he is better off using physical attacks in the midst of combat.
Can Swim?: He can use his wooden beam to attempt to float or in extreme cases try to surf before he falls off seconds later, but that is as far as he will get in terms of swimming.

Species: Ditto
Nickname: N/A (Though no one seems to know his real name, as he is more comfortable with being called the name of his species.)
Gender: Male
Ability: Limber (Grants the Pokémon complete immunity to the effects of Paralysis.)
Held Item: He has no held item since he does not feel too comfortable with having one.
Hidden Power Type: Water
Special Features: As a result of a corruption with his DNA due to a rare genetic disorder, he is only able to transform into Pokémon of the basic form or into a much more younger variant of other Pokémon that do not evolve. (I.e. He would be looking like a small, babyish Lapras as an example if he were to transform into that Pokémon.) [NOTE: This is also for balancing reasons since legendary Pokémon cannot be used in RPing.]
Strengths
: He has unmatched versatility and tenacity, being able to fill in any missing role Scott's team has.
Flaws: Unfortunately, he is a jack of all trades and most certainly a master of none. The variety of moves are limited to the Pokémon he is transformed as and he can only transform into a Pokémon of their basic form or a very young variant of other Pokémon that do not evolve.
Quick History: Not much is known about him, other than the fact that he wanted to stay with Scott for unknown reasons. He is Scott's fourth Pokémon for now and was caught in a forest after his trust was quickly gained.
Personality: He is usually quiet around others, and attempts to act as the Pokémon he is transformed into with the best of his ability. As a result of being accustomed to being young Pokémon all the time, he has developed some bad habits over the months, one being that he likes to eat for comfort instead of nourishment.
Game-Equivalent Level: 75
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: He attempts to learn all the moves he can, while he struggles with the more complex moves however.
Can Swim?: He can swim if he is transformed into a Water-type Pokémon, provided that his fear of drowning does not come to mind.

Species: Yamask
Nickname: Spira (This is the Yamask's real name and her trainer often addresses her by this name.)
Gender: Female
Ability: Mummy (Physical contact with this Pokémon changers the attacker's ability to Mummy, disabling the effects of their previous ability. Mummy has no effects in or out of combat.)
Held Item: She does not have any sort of held item whatsoever.
Hidden Power Type: Dark
Special Features: Her mask is in a light shade of cream instead of being a pale yellow.
Strengths: She has immunity to certain types of attacks and is able to freely float around, allowing herself to be a harder target to hit and having the height advantage.
Flaws: Her mask is her weak spot since it renders her almost helpless for a brief amount of time if damaged. She also tends to struggle with communicating with others.
Quick History: She was caught near the Relic Castle when her trainer gained her trust by protecting her from two Team Plasma grunts harassing her. The reason why she decided to remain as her basic form still remains a mystery to this day.
Personality: She is described from his trainer to be a bashful, reticent Pokémon that often steers clear from any conversation she can. She likes to stay in her ball as it helps with having a privacy bubble, until she is summoned to battle however. (With a brief, clear warning at least.)
Game-Equivalent Level: 76
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: She sometimes avoids learning physical moves since she does not like getting too close to other Pokémon.
Can Swim?: Sadly, she is unable to swim.

Species: Slurpuff
Nickname: N/A
Gender: Female
Ability: Sweet Veil (The Pokémon and other allied Pokémon are immune to the effects of being asleep, as sleep-inducing moves always fail on all Pokémon affected by this ability.)
Held Item: She has on a pair of scope lens, as the lens extend out if scanning a target for its weak points to have a better chance of inflicting critical damage.
Hidden Power Type: Fighting
Special Features: Nothing too much, she is your normal, everyday Slurpuff.
Strengths: She is excellent with judging various foods and being able to keep the team healthy and strong in the midst of battle with her mastered status moves.
Flaws: Her attacking moves are not as strong, as she has not trained upon them as much.
Quick History: She was caught near several concession stands in her trainer's hometown, as his trainer kept her secret safe when the police came. She decided to turn a new leaf moments later, deciding to assist his trainer in cooking gourmet meals instead of simply eating what she could get her tongue on.
Personality: She tends to be charming towards everyone she meets, attempting to get their attention as soon as possible as a result of still having a bad habit of always wanting to grab the spotlight. She tries to get other Pokémon in a downcast state into the exact opposite feeling, since her batteries usually drain faster if she has no one to interact with.
Game-Equivalent Level: 78
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: She sometimes avoids learning the more complex moves that involve directly attacking other Pokémon.
Can Swim?: She can swim in shallow water, but that is as far as she would get in terms of swimming.
Species: Castform
Nickname: Some people and Pokémon often refer him to as Cast for the short part of his species name.
Gender: Male
Ability: Forecast (The Pokémon changes forms based on the weather conditions. This ability is the signature ability of Castform.)
Held Item: He has no held items.
Hidden Power Type: Fire
Special Features: He wears a green lanyard with a card holder that holds a special data chip containing some information. (Though this may be revealed in the RP with the correct trigger.)
Strengths: He is able to give an almost accurate forecast of today's weather and retain information more easily.
Flaws: He is not exactly too great with battling, since he tends to flee the instant someone attempts to lay a claw on him.
Quick History: He was befriended at a weather news center that was newly built in Unova before several Team Plasma grunts destroyed it. His trainer quickly gained his trust and the little weather Pokémon decided to be more of a weatherman instead of a combatant.
Personality: He seems to be rather quiet around others, mainly speaking to his trainer about the weather and some other miscellaneous information. His mild outlook often leads to him being indifferent about others' opinions, which has him focusing with primarily decisions in the middle of the various forks.
Game-Equivalent Level: 42
Range of Moves They Avoid Learning: He does not mind learning any move he is capable of mastering upon.
Can Swim?: He can swim in his rainy form.

Cool :3 you are missing something you need to put in your Extra section (check the Rules section).

I've finished for real this time! Completed bio is in my last post.

EDIT: Er wait sorry here's the RP sample.
After paying the farmer his fee, Willa hightailed it to the nearby motel. She still had a Dragonite to recall, after all. Her palms still sweaty from the battle, the trainer fished out her room key from one of her coat's many pockets. Oddly enough, it felt like she was the only one who bothered to lock her room door. Then again, maybe she was the only one with anything to hide. Carefully, Willa cracked open the door, pushing it to give her just enough space to slip inside. Inside, the room was pitch black save for a few blinking lights from a computer setup. The curtains were drawn, allowing no sunlight inside the room. Willa didn't reach for the light switch until she had shut and locked the door behind her, almost stumbling over the various wires she had sprawled across the floor. The only remotely neat thing about the room was a row of black folded clothes lined up on the bed, each topped with a matching black cap. Willa knew that she should probably clean up soon, but with the tournament upon her there wasn't much time to do it now.

The light flickered on, bathing the pigsty of a room in light. The bed sheets were crumpled and tangled in knots, there were stacks of unorganized papers and files in the back corner, and wires littered the floor leading to the set up on the right wall. Tiptoeing across the floor, Willa made her way to the desk, strapped on her headphones, and booted up the portable desktop. At the password entry screen, she repositioned her headset's microphone in front of her mouth. The set up would only respond to a spoken password, and only if spoken by her.

"The password is: Goldenrod." Taking only a moment to recognize the password, Willa's computer started up and immediately opened to her personal radio communications channel. Shifting the frequency to Fortran's earpiece, she spoke once again into the mic. "Fortran, do you copy? Repeat. Fortran, do you copy?" After a moment of silence, Willa heard a drawn out yawn from the dragon Pokemon. It seemed he had been taking a nap after going into hiding. Willa chuckled a bit, but soon returned to business. "Alright, it sounds like you're fit to fly. Return to base ASAP. Be sure to remain unnoticed." After receiving a tired, yet understanding snort from the Dragonite, Willa closed out of the channel, leaving the program open to the tournament announcements for when the "full force battles" began.

In the mean time, she would resume her research into the various competitors. As nice as the magician seemed, it was clear that he wouldn't fit her purposes even if she had any idea where he was. Maybe she would have better luck with other competitors though.

*Neourk hands over a note while grabbing his sippy cup*

The time for me right now is 13:32.

I presume the RP will start today or a bit later in the week. (Though I wonder, how will the order of battling be determined?)

I was planning on figuring out how to make the beginning portion of the RP and figure out on opening it. About the battle randomizing, I was just going to put all characters in a list, number them, then go to the random number generator and get the first two battlers, shorten the numbers down by two, then keep going until I make it to the last two battlers.

If you have a simpler version on doing this, then I thank you for helping out. We technically have 32 battlers because there has to be filler NPCs.

can i just suggest: trying to avoid pairing up ocs/canons at least the first round or so? id hate to see for someone's well-developed oc knocked out in the first 1v1. since theres so many free spots, we should try to eliminate placeholder NPCs first.

Agreed. However I don't plan to win with Colress, for what it's worth. As far as I'm concerned level = experience, and doesn't mean you automatically roflstomp someone elses' lower-leveled Pokemon.

*Shadow Oshawott sits down while smiling a bit evilly and feeling a bit proud*

I mean, it is up to the RP Creator I presume. I’m just going to have to hope that my little evil otter doesn’t cause too much destruction here...

I’ll add a spectating Pokémon.

Species: Honedge
Nickname: Danny hasn’t technically caught him yet, but he calls him Yato.
Gender: Male
Ability: No Guard
Held Item (if any): None.
Hidden Power Type: Dragon
Special Features: None
Strengths: Stabbing things
Flaws: He stabs to many things
Quick History: A Pokémon that has followed Danny closely during his journey. He usually just wraps his cloth one Danny’s backpack and hitches a ride.
Personality A plucky little fellow. He often tries to pick fights with much larger and stronger Pokémon. Danny doesn’t now what his nature and characteristic are because he hasn’t caught him.
Game-Equivalent Level: 25
Can Swim? (It doesn’t matter if they have Surf. If a Pikachu can swim without Surf, then this is a yes): Nope. He’ll just sink.
