Private/Closed Kyogre Lake Academy

"Good job catching one. I'm trying to make friends with a large Water type Pokemon living in the lake through music." Alex held up his ocarina to show James before he continued. "From what I can tell judging by the shape of its aura, the body was large and round with a small head mounted on a long neck. I never encountered anything like it before. Any ideas?"

"Heh, you're on. Go, Espeon!" Michael shouted.

"Go, Lycanroc!" Dom said.

The two pokemon were thrown out onto the battlefield. Lycanroc howled and espeon sat there, watching Lycanrocs every move.

"Alright, Crunch!" Dom said.

Lycanroc rushed at Espeon, who still sat there.

"Now Espeon, Shadow Ball!" Michael commanded.

Just as Lycanroc went to attack the Espeon, a ball of shadow energy blasted off from the pokemon, hitting Lycanroc point blank. The dust cloud resulting from the collision temporarily made the obscured the battlefield, and neither trainer could really see.

"C'mon, I can't see a single thing with this stupid cloud!" Dom said.

He tried his hardest to focus on seeing what was going on in the cloud, and for a moment, he though he could see through it. He saw Lycanroc frantically looking around as Espeon gracefully ran around it.

"Lycanroc, use Stone Edge! Aim to your left!" Dom shouted.

Lycanroc punched the ground, causing stones to come up from the earth below and slammed the Espeon, sending it flying above the dust cloud.

"Now Lycanroc, before it lands! Use Crunch!" Dom said.

The dust cloud dissapated and Espeon was still falling, Lycanroc rushed at the Pokemon and readied its attack, jumping up to meet the pokemon. The attack landed midair, and sent Espeon back to the ground. The super effective dark type attack weakened the Espeon, but it was still standing.

"Espeon, use Future sight!" Michael called out.

"Crunch, one more time!" Dom shouted.

Just as Espeon got its attack off, Lycanroc went in for the final blow of the battle, causing Espeon to faint. Michael recalled the Espeon and sent out his next pokemon.

"Go, Slowking!"

Dom thought about the type matchup here, but decided to stick it through anyways.

"Lycanroc, use Thunder Fang!" Dom shouted.

"Quick Slowking, use Trick Room!" Michael said.

Suddenly a barrier formed around the battlefield, and Lycanroc began slowing down. By the time it reached Slowking, it went in for the attack, but Slowking seemed to have vanished, and the Thunder Fang missed. Hanzo walked by the battlefield.

"Hm... I wonder how you will deal with this." he said, before walking over to another battle.

Dom quickly looked around for the Slowking, but just couldn't find it. Michael began laughing.

"Did you try looking up? Slowking, use scald!" he shouted.

Dom quickly looked up to see that Slowking was moving so fast that it could run across the top of the barrier without falling off, and before Dom knew it, the piping hot water stream was headed straight for Lycanroc, who was still moving very slow.

"Hurry Lycanroc, use Thunder Fang on the Scald attack!" Dom shouted.

Just before the scald attack connected, Lycanroc just barely got the attack off. Though the scald was a direct hit, the Thunder Fang sent an electric surge through the water, causing some damage to the Slowking, causing it to fall back to the ground. Lycanroc was barely standing, but still, it got back up, but before Dom could even call out another attack, Lycanrocs body became blinding white, and an explosion happened. By the time the cloud settled and the trick room wore off, Lycanroc was fainted.

"Return, Lycanroc..." Dom said.

"I'll give it to ya, that Thunder fang technique was quite intuitive, but it wont be enough." Michael said.

"We'll see. Alright, time for my next pokemon!" Dom shouted.

Jack looked pretty nervous after the Psycho Cut almost missed, but luckily, his teammate picked up the slacks and caught the Togetic. Justin relaxed his stance. Jack breathed a sigh of relief, before laughing. “Hey, nice work. That was pretty fun.” He ran up to Emma, with Justin close behind him. “Looks like you’re getting that Togekiss you always wanted.”

“Hmm… where am I from?” Reese repeated Jason’s question with a different inflection as she searched her memory. “I move around a lot, so sometimes I forget,” she explained, carefree. She thought for a second. “Well, my hometown’s in Unova, but my dad ‘n’ I always went on digs ‘n’ stuff all over the world. He’s a pretty well-known Ruin Maniac. So I’ve seen a lotta places!” She grinned for just a second. “My mom left when I was really little, though. Never really knew her all that much. But I like to call the whole archaeology team my dads, so in a way I’ve got a huge family!” Her smile returned at the thought.

Charlie kept her focus, her face fixed to the beetle pokemon. Trying to think of a plan before rushing in "..." Charlie didn't say anything. Her legs were still wobbly despite the recent recovery and using Dune...suddenly a loud "hey!" Echoed through the battlefield "I've got you beat! You may be up by one but I can tell you're quaking in your boots." Rapiel made another remark, attempting to get throw off Charlie's game "hey you jerk! My legs are like this because I got struck by lightning, by this flaffy here!" She retaliated, pointing to Joule who then gave its own rage filled glare towards Raphiel. The trainer in question felt a bit nervous and changed his attention back to battle "Haracross charge them! Crush that flaffy with brick break!" He commanded, the Haracross let out a very buzzy type noise as it rushed towards Joul, reading a strong attack as it bounded into the air above Joule "Joule, get out of there and paralyze it!" Charlie counterattacked, Joule leaped up next to the haracro in an attempt to avoid the devastating fighting type move as it charged its body up once more "Haracross!" Raphiel called out, suddenly his pokemon changed its position midair and swung its claw at Joule. She was knocked back down into the ground but managed to get off the thunder wave.

Charlie and Raphiel were in an intense match, Charlie had to proove herself that she could make it to an advanced class like battle strategy, if she could make it there maybe she could improve to where she could match some of the trainer's here that were invited thanks to their battle prowess. And Raphiel, had to put a first year student in his place "megahorn!" He called, the Haracross landed on the ground with tons of force and made its charge once more, targeting the downed flaffy for a K.O. Joule was setting herself back up when impacted by the megahorn, a painful "feeeeeeeee~!" Erupted from her as she took the attack directly. And with that, Charlie was down one pokemon "Crap.." she mumbled to herself as she returned her fainted pokemon "you did good Joule, you deserve a place on my team and I'll make sure you know it after this..." Raph laughed along with his Haracross which given its body language seemed confident in Victory "well well newbie, we're on even ground but I doubt your breloom could get sneezed on before being down for the count!" Raphiel was back to throwing shade towards Charlie and her team "shut it Raph! I'm gonna show you the power of Dewford gym!" With that Charlie sent out Shoe once again. He put up a fight, but it was no use, Shoe in the state he was couldn't take more than one attack and he was fainted by Raphiels Haracross in no time flat "Damn!" Charlie let go of Dune, she stumbled to the ground. Dune immediately moved to try and lift Charlie back onto her feet "no...Dune I'm fine, just get ready to fight" spoke Charlie under her breath, reaccling Shoe and pulling out two pokeballs, one belonging to Dune who reluctantly went inside on her own, and Kings, of which Charlie tossed out as her 3rd combatant "King I trust you to take his pokemon down" Charlie said to show her trust in him, She pushed herself off the ground and managed to stand back onto her feet, they wobbled for a bit before finally Charlie stomped a foot onto the ground and she regained her posture she sported during her battle with Dom "I can't look weak when my pokemon are giving their all..." she spoke quietly to herself King was looking back at Charlie with a worried look, he took a breath in and fixed his eyes ti the Haracross "no matter how strong you try to act I'll beat you down till you know your place as a novice trainer" Shouted Raphiel with more rasp in his voice than ever.

"King, take out the Haracross, fire punch should be more than enough." In a controlled voice, Charlie commanded her monferno, it acted on its orders and lit up its fist in a blazing fire as it dashed towards the Haracross. Raph demanded it use brick break to counter King but the paralysis kicked in and stopped it where before it could even get going. With a loud flaming boom the fire punch connected and sent the Haracross back, it remained on its feet but it was clearly injured from that attack "don't let up King!" Charlie yelled. King performed the same motion, only lighting up both fists in a fiery blaze. He closed the distance between him and the Haracross opponent as it prepared to clash with Kings duel fire fists. After a moment of the two pokemon striking each other a victor was decided between them as soon as both trainers could see Haracross topple to the ground "yes!" "No!!" Both trainers shouted to their respective pokemon "fine I'll give you that one, but no more of my team is gonna fall to your third-rate pokemon!"
Raph shouted as from his next pokeball revealed to be a pignite... the battle was heating up, Charlie needed to win this, it was easy to tell she was focused, ignoring her opponents slick comments and keeping her body from falling during the battle.

"Your description matches that of a Lapras, a powerful species, and not a common one either." James explained, "My godmother has one, he's one of her main battlers, and the one Pokémon on her team that I do not want to fight, I'm not even sure Jason wanted to fight that one."

James knew that his parents and Godparents were somewhat famous in their fields, especially his father. The boy looked at a Safari Ball, and opened it. Vulpix appeared in camouflage colored light then sat on Steelix's head.

"Vul?" The Fire type asked.

--------

Jason had heard Reese's answer, and continued, "My Mom's actually from Nimbasa, my dad's from Oldale Town, in Hoenn. My cousins on my mother's side are from Unova, Regulus Oak is one of them, he's an apprentice Archeologist and he was the one who owned the Archeops, my Hoennian cousins are few and far between, I've only met Billy Carmichael."

Metagross kept his pace as Jason was chatting. Aerodactyl kept his pace as looking ahead was important.

-----

Emma was jumping up and down in excitement, she had used the friend ball to hopefully make Togetic more friendly. She opened the Pokéball as the Fairy and Flying type looked at, upon the Pokéball opening, Volcarona, Justin, Jack and Emma.

"Hello, Togetic, you kinda stole my tie, and I kind of needed it for school," Emma responded, "I'm your trainer, and this is Jack, and his Gallade, Justin, and Volcarona."

The Pokémon looked around the group, and landed on Emma's head, falling asleep, using the Move Rest. Emma looked at Jack and asked a question.

"Is it me or is there a Togetic on my head?" Emma asked.

------

Laura had looked over as well, finding what Ivan spotted.

"That's a Spheal, Evolves into Walrein," Laura responded, "Walrein can learn a lot of Ice and Water moves alongside some Ground, Steel and Dark moves as well, Bulky, and a powerful one as well."

Laura looked at Ivan before Landing the Salamence, waiting for Ivan to get off before having Salamence patrol.

"So that's what you are." Alex whispered to himself and was about to play his ocarina again but decided against it, figuring the Pokemon might need some space. "Hey James, were you heading for the arena? I think I want to come along."

Dom sent out his pokemon, and it was his newly evolved Electabuzz.

"Heh, another fast pokemon? Didn't you realize that Slowking can deal with those?" Michael laughed, "Man when I heard Draconids were stupid I didn't think they were right!"

Dom didn't respond. The competitive smile on his face faded, and all that was left was anger. The rage on Doms brow cast a shadow over his face, but the frown and wrinkle on his nose said everything they needed to. Dom was pissed.

"What did you say?" Dom said, eerily calm.

"Tch. You heard me." Michael scoffed, "you people are-"

Dom looked up, straight at Michael. Dom's usually pink irises had become washed over with a faint blue energy. A strange shockwave of energy came from Dom, and the look on Michaels face changed. Electabuzz began stepping forward, and Michael couldn't call out a single command. "Thunder Punch" Dom thought. Before Slowking could get the opportunity to even begin setting up a trick room, it was sent flying into the wall of the stadium with a single thunder punch from Electabuzz. Without saying a word, Dom recalled Electabuzz and began walking towards the exit of the Arena. Before he could actually exit the Arena, Hanzo stopped Dom.

"If you cannot control your emotions, Lycanroc will never be able to control its power. While yes, you're strong, you lack control. Do not show up a minute late to tonight training. We have much to do." He whispered into Doms ear.

"Mhm." Dom mumbled as he continued to walk forward.

"And for now, I'll be taking this." Hanzo said.

Dom turned around to see the Z-power ring in Hanzos hand. Dom felt himself become angry again, but this time pushed it back down, "Right." he said, turning back around and leaving the Arena.

As Dom walked up to a tree, he felt his anger bubble back up again. He looked at the small tree and felt an indescribable disdain, and reeled back, putting all his power into a punch. There was a bit of a flash, but the next thing Dom knew, the tree was broken and bent right in the place he punched it. He looked down at his fist, which was glowing with the same blueish aura from earlier.

"What is happening to me?!" Dom thought as he watched the blue energy fade from his fist.

Emma looked to Jack, trying not to wake the sleeping Togetic on her head.

"Nope, Volcarona caught the Tie as well as Togetic with Psychic, I grabbed my tie from midair and put it back on." Emma responded, with a small smile, "Let's go looking for that nest of Larvitars."

Emma had been walking slowly as to not wake Togetic and let Jack catch up, she looked around, with Volcarona keeping above. He looked at Emma and Jack, keeping look out in case of an ambush or Tyranitars, which Volcarona knew it can hit back.

--------

"I was actually headed back that way anyways, you can join along." James responded.

"Vul?"

"You will watch, okay," James told his pokemon, "You were injured not too long ago."

"Pix."

James and Steelix started heading off towards the Arena. Vulpix looked around the area with wide eyes, like a young child. He tried to Run off, but James picked him up and put him in his lap.

Jack felt something well up in him after seeing Emma smile. It was the first time he had seen her do that. He kept walking with her, briefly looking behind him to give Justin a nod. Justin nodded back, sharpening one of his arms, in case of an ambush. "We should stay alert." He whispered. "The last thing we want is making Larvitar mad, or their parents."

Ivan got off of Laura's Salamence and walked over to the spheal, he crouched down and watched as it continued to roll towards him. The Spheal bumped into his leg and stopped rolling to look up at him, the Spheal smiled and began to roll around him. Ace had gotten jealous and ran over towards Ivan and stopped Spheal from rolling by holding it in place.

"Hey, Ace there no need to be jealous of the little guy."

Ace let go of the spheal and let Ivan pick it up, Ivan held Spheal in this hands and tickled it's stomach which made the spheal laugh happily.

"Your so cute, I can't get enough of you, you adorable little ball." Ivan said while speaking to the spheal as if he was talking to a new born baby.

Hearing James interact with his new Vulpix, Alex couldn't help but chuckle to himself as he and his Pokemon walked alongside the Steelix.
They were probably about halfway there when Alex felt an aura spike out of nowhere followed by the sound of splintering wood. From what he could tell, they were about to meet the source as they were walking right towards it. "James, there's something I have to check out, I'll go on ahead!"
Without waiting for a reply, Alex ran to where the aura seemed to be retracting back to its source, his Pokemon quickly catching up to him. Upon reaching the spot Alex called out. "Hey, are you okay?!"

Charlie as focused as she was could still make out what happened to Dom, how he suddenly looked anrgier and how he stormed off from the stadium, just as Hanzo stopped him Charlie's attention was pulled back to the task at hand, her getting side tracked led to King taking an attack for the foe's pignite "King are you all right!' She called to her pokemon. The monferno responded with a emergetic snarl, he was still ready to fight "awesome, hit the pignite with vacuum wave, don't let it get near you" Charlie knew pignite was a strong brute when it came to physical attacks so try to match it in close quarters would be difficult, but if she could widdle it doen with ranged attacks like vacuum wave she could gain the upper hand "ferno!" Kind growled, jumping back and firing strong punches at the pignite, the shockwaves of air hitting it, the move itself was very weak so Raphiel's pignite seemed to be taking them just fine as it attempted to get in close. King continued to zone the opponent before finally a frustrated Raphiel shouted out over the battlefield "Gah! Stop running away and fight brat! Flame charge!" He shouted. The pignite began to repeatedly stomp its back feet into the ground and soon it began to spark flames, building up some more it charged at King with incredible speed, blazing past a air shockwave and tackling King to the ground, King let out a cry as the air in his lungs was forced out by the attack. After struggling for a moment he managed to push the beast off of his body. He stood back up, panting and trying to catch his breath "King...you're almost at your limit, I'm sorry..." Charlie apologized to her pokemon, only for King to snap at her "huh...you...you're good to go?" She asked her pokemon with a surprised face " Monferno!!" Roared King, he was still strong, ready to fight "o-ok...King, remember the fight with Dom where you flared up your whole body, yeah...Use flair blitz King!!" Charlie held up her hand and commanded with confidence. Kings body began to act similarly as its previous fight, a large flaming aura building up around it, engulfing his whole body before finally with ferocious energy lunging to the pignite who was not far away given the last interaction, with a loud blast of flame and an explosion alongside it. The ash in the stadium settled to reveal Raphiel's pignite was fainted, and King was still standing. Barely I should add.

"What the hell! You can't be serious I'm not getting shown up by some brat first year, I went to the indigo league! I got here by skill! I've trained at this school for 3 years! I'm not doing all that to get beat on the spot by some Damn boy in a skirt!" Raphiel was filled with rage and anger, not even recalling his fainted pignite before pulling out 2 pokeballs and tossing them into the ring, out popped an onix and a rydon "I'm teaching you a lesson and I don't care if that means I have to put down one of your pokemon!!" He shouted out at the top of his lungs, his face becoming red from his shouting as both pokemon closes in on King "what!? What's your problem you lunatic! Thats against the rules!" Charlie screamed out, being caught off guard by the illegal tactic this third year student was using. As the two rock type pokemon closed in on the wounded King, they both planned to attack by slamming down their bodies onto King. Charlie's monferno stared down both pokemon, injured but standing his ground as he watched their shadows cast over his body "KING!!" Charlie screamed out, quickly tossing the last ball in her hand in a panic. Hanzo was handling Dom and so he missed the events, finally catching sight of what was happening in the ring, students around watched with open mouths "Raphiel!!!" Mr. Hanzo shouted out with both fear and anger. Even as fast as acelgor was he would be too late to act....
CRASH
A gigantic dust cloud bursted from the two pokemons slam attack everything in and near the battlefield became enveloped in a thick dust cloud, unabke to see through. "King!!" Charlie cried out through the dust, tears rushing down her face from fear and the dust as she ran out into the battlefield to see the aftermath. Once close enough she could see through the dust, only able to make out a small bit if detail, 3 figures fin the arena from what Charlie could tell. A moment went by and without a word the area was silent, the dust came to a calm, making light of the arena... King was against the ground, away from the center of the ring and seemingly okay. Charlie foxused down the center of the ring to see both rock types with their bodies almost touching the ground. Only one thing stopping them, a green body under their weight, it was still for a moment, and as Charlie fell to the ground in sadness of seeing her partner fall victim to the attack, the green body of Dune began to shudder, with rocks shaking around the 3 pokemon and one loud growl. Dune swnt both rock types flying into the air. Dune was alive, injured, even to the point one of its eye shields was cracked. Even so, she flapped her wings, giving a last growl before rising out of the crater created from the impact of pokemon, the ground around Dune cracked and crumbled as the opposing pokemon hit the ground. Dune's body shivered, it trembled, to those who could see it, the dragon-aura that exerted from Dune would be recognizable from somebody even outside the arena. the cracks it was causing in the ground grew larger and seemed to spread out more, at first seeming like random cracks it could soon be made out to see the cracks converging in on the onix and rydon. Both pokemon were confused at what was happening. Raphiel as well. As Charlie sat up , her knees on the ground, she watched as a large eruption of rock and magma bursted out from below Raphiel's pokemon...

That last earth power knocked out both of Raphiel's pokemon, deckaring the battle a victory for Charlie, granted ahe would have won either way since Raphiel was using a illegal tactic. Charlie recalled both pokemon, still sat in the center of the ring as students crowded around both her and Raphiel. Mr. Hanzo himself walked through the crowd up to charlie and handed her a small envelope. Before giving a bow and walking away. He made his way to Raphiel who began to scream at Hanzo before being grabbed by the ear and pulled out of the stadium by him....
"Thank you guys..." Charlie mumbled, crying into the handful of pokeballs hilding her battered up team...

Del was crushed, half of his mind said to leave, he was so bad, Basics was hard for him. He had never trained to be a fighter, his mother was always a doctor and gave a few discounts to some trainers who worked for Kyogre Lake Academy. It was a stupid dream, his mother told him it was, why didn't he just listen and begin studying medicine now, he could make so much money at an early age. The other half of his mind was full of steam. Why, why couldn't he understand basics, why was life so cruel in giving him the best opportunity and giving the worst outcome why?

CRASH

Del looked over to see Charlie crying. The steam was building as was the sinking feeling of being inadequate, it was horrible mixture far worse than any physical pain Del had felt. Connor stood behind Del, looked over at Charlie, then back to Del. "Look" Connor whispered in his normal tone. "That letter... it's a good thing, it..." Del ran out of the place tearing up while constantly tripping over himself. "Del!" Connor called in just above a whisper chasing after him. Del sat out behind the building and lit a match and stuck it in his mouth, hoping the smoke would cause a miracle. "Del, your friend will be alright, she..." "Shut up, just shut up and leave, leave and never-" Connor pulled the match out of Del's mouth "Hey!-" Connor hugged Del. "I don't know what you're thinking or feeling, but you shouldn't. It isn't right. The fact you made it here means your worth something to someone. Whether it's to yourself or that girl. You're an amateur, so what, we all start somewhere." Del lightly pushed Connor off of him without saying a word and walked back inside. Before walking out on the fields, he slapped his cheeks a few times to pump himself up, but it didn't work, he calmly walked up to Charlie and said in a shaky voice, "Congratulations."

Dom sat silently for a moment.

“I don’t even know what I just did.” Dom said, “I don’t know what’s happening to me.”

He tried to shake the feeling off, and put on a smile.

“Sorry, I didn’t realize there was anyone nearby. Watching someone punch a tree in half must be weird. I don’t even know myself what I did. I just punched this tree and it went right through. There was this like… blue stuff though. Im sorry, I’m so confused and I’m dumping it all on you. I’m Dom by the way, I don’t think we’ve met.”

James had stopped when he looked down, and found pieces of a small tree in the middle of the path.

"Sceptile, use Leaf Blade!"

The Forest Pokémon appeared in front of James, Steelix and Vulpix. He used the Leaf Blade attack to clear up any fragments of tree that may have been too big for the Iron Snake Pokémon to cross without knocking The Fox Pokémon or their trainer off of him. He then went on his way as Alex had said.

Emma was in a good mood after catching a Pokémon that evolved into her dream Pokémon, and was currently out with Jack tracking a Larvitar nest, she looked out to see a couple of Goletts, and even an Alolan Raichu? Last time she checked, this island probably was not part of Alola. If it was, she'd be seeing Exeggutor the same height as buildings.

"No Larvitars yet, two Goletts and an Alolan Raichu, oddly enough." Emma responded, still with that small smile that's been there since Togetic was caught.

Speaking of the Fairy and Flying, he was still out on Emma's head, sleeping like most Pokémon at night. As she looked around further, she saw a Gigalith and it's family of Roggenrolas and Boldores.

"We're getting closer." Emma whispered, "The Whispers said that a Gigalith and its family are not too far."

------

Laura had seen Ivan's reaction to a Spheal, and she looked at him, not expecting the reaction. She then looked over to see a pink noodle shape. She started to approach the creature, as she approached it, the creature looked at her like an Elephant looks at a person. Laura pulled out a Pokéball, and set it down to try and pique the curiosity of the creature. She sat down as well as to try not to be a threat to it. The Pink noodle pulled up to be a Dratini, but it's face was wrong. It then turned into a blue blob.

"Hwha?" Laura was confused as the Pokémon walked up to the Ball, looking around the ball and Laura, The Pokémon then bumped into the edge of Pokéball, being sucked in. Once, twice, and pop! The Pokémon popped out as Laura looked at it. She then threw another Pokéball, but it missed as The Pokémon hid behind a rock.

"Ivan, I'm pretty sure a Shiny Ditto just ran off from here!" Laura called out to him.

There seemed to be some sort of drama going down when June walked into the arena. For one, she had walked by the teacher Hanzo pulling a student out by the ear. Not exactly a reassuring sight. Also, there was a blue haired girl inside who was in tears. An equally unreassuring sight.

When Hanzo returned, he immediately assigned June to battle against some second year student, supposedly in order to find out if she was ready for the advanced class or not. Fair enough. June took a deep breath as she stepped onto her place on the field, and sent out her Durant. “Start with the usual,” she said simply.

It wasn’t a second after their opponent released his Drapion when Durant launched her first attack: First Impression. The Drapion had no time to react before it was hit with Durant’s headlong attack, and was thrown back violently. “Iron head,” June commanded. She did not bother to shout her command, having long ago learned that Durant’s incredible hearing allowed her to hear commands that neither the opposing Pokemon or trainer could hear.

Durant, carried by the momentum of her first attack, managed to ram the Drapion with full force once again. Their opponent, who seemed visibly distressed about how the battle was going, finally issued his first command: “Night Slash!” The Drapion, managing to regain its footing, went for wild swing at Durant, who managed to catch its arm in her powerful mandibles. "Throw it!" the opposing trainer yelled. "Throw it," June commanded.

There was a tense moment as the Drapion pulled upward with all its might while Durant strained to hold on to the ground with her six hook-like feet. Finally, June's opponent decided that he did not want to find out how this tug of war would end, commanding "Night Slash again!" June watched helplessly as the Drapion raised its other arm, letting it hang in the air for a moment like an executioner about to bring down his blade upon a hapless victim. Then, with a loud CLANG , it struck Durant squarely in the head, causing her legs to buckle and collapse.

Completely dazed from the blow, Durant shakily attempted to get back on her feet. "Now, Knock Off!" June's opponent commanded confidently, now invigorated by his advantageous position. The Drapion stepped back a pace raising its tail like a batter at the plate, readying for its finishing blow. "Come on Durant!" June pleaded. "You have to get up and dodge that attack!" Miraculously, Durant heeded her trainers command, shaking off the previous attack and hoisting herself back up. Her red eyes glinted with a renewed fire of passion.

Durant was promptly struck, with an even louder CLANG, by Drapion's vicious Knock Off. June watched in despair as her partner was sent flying. When Durant finally clattered to the ground, bouncing twice before skidding to a halt in front of June, she was thoroughly knocked out.

"What is your name?" Hanzo asked as June scooped up her defeated Pokemon. While Durant had stepped into the battle shining radiantly, her exoskeleton was now dull and scratched up. June dutifully brushed some dust off of her partner before recalling her. “June Forrest, sir.”

“You have a lot to learn,” Hanzo told her simply.

Hokori, interested in Thomas's explanation, began to listen quite intently, and was impressed with what she heard; She figured the way he talked about it did indeed show a deep bond between him and his Gyarados even further than just being told of it, getting another, softer, chuckle from her once he seemed apologetic.

"No nee' to worry bout babbling, Tom," She told him with a fascinated smile. "It's always nice to hear about people's times with their friends, after all." She added, "And besides - I did ask, and it is really interesting to hear."

“Sensed… aura? What’s that?” Dom asked, “was that the blue stuff? And what do you mean source, I don’t even know what just happened!”

Dom felt too many emotions well up in him, confusion, anger, surprise, he couldn’t take it.

“Yeah, we all get angry sometimes but it still doesn’t make sense. Yeah I’m a bit strong but I’ve never been able to punch through trees!” Dom said.

"Alright, first things first." Alex sighed as he sat Indian style on the ground. "Take a seat, close your eyes and control your breathing. Try to calm down." As he spoke, Alex pulled out his ocarina and strengthened the aura in the finger tips of his right hand, making them appear to ignite in blue flames as he played the same calming tune as before, this time enhanced by his aura.

Thomas smiled as well as his Gyarados, Steelix seemed to eye Hokori's newly caught Crabrawler as if analyzing it... which was easy to mistake for an unsettling stare; an old habit of the iron snake Pokemon. "Anyways, what about you? How long have you been with your Pokemon for?" He asked as he turned to look at the ocean once again while his Gyarados curled up around him.

Charlie was laying her head into her hands, touching against the 4 pokeballs she had. As the people around her began to ask question and worry if Charlie was alright. She noticed one particular pair of shoes walked up to her, her teary face looked up to see Del, looking almost as distressed as she was. "D-del..." Charlie mumbled, she struggled a bit but managed to stand herself up, even more wobbly than before, she placed her pokebalss back onto her belt and lowered her glasses to try and hide the tears from those around her. She noticed the envelope Mr. Hanzo handed her on the ground, she picked it up and held it tight in her hand "Del...I'm gonna head back to the doorms, I've gotta rest for a bit after that....I hope to see you again soon" Charlie was still crying but managed to give a smile towards her friend, she began to step off the field, making her way out of the stadium back to the dormatory. She was clearly still exhausted from the events before the battle and a couple students walked up to Charlie and offered to help walk her back to the dorms...

The Crabrawler returned the assumed glare as she stopped rolling, glaring back and assuming a defensive stance against the big steel snake.

"Oh, well, I was supposed to get Taupe at 7, as a present from Pa, as my first pokémon, but I met Cor - He'd washed up after being knocked out by something out there - when I was 5 and managed to sneakily take a pokeball from Pa's bag after taking him to a Pokémon Centre where I found out about the whole needing ownership of the Pokémon before being allowed to take him out of there. That threw a wrench in the plans to keep Cor secret, but I got there eventually~" Hokori began to explain with a gleam of nostalgia in her voice, sitting down on a rock with one knee up beside her, Cor hopping onto her shoulder again.
"Of course, when I got Taupe and the family tried to get me into that contest stuff, Cor definitely saved me from that fate even if just for a compromise." She added, with a small sigh.

Thomas smiled and looked back to see the way Steelix stared at Crabrawler, he lightly cleared his throat to get his attention and lightly shook his head at Steelix, this made him stop and turn his attention to Hokori who began to speak about her past, Thomas looked back and decided to sit on another rock while she spoke. "That's sweet, the way you helped him while still so young." He said with a bright smile as he continued to listen to her, then showed a slight look of concern when she mentioned how her Corphish saved her. "Did... they not respect what it was you wanted to do for the future?" He asked with a hint of reluctance, clearly he didn't see it as a good idea to bring up touchy subjects, but his curiosity got the better of him.

Del saw as Charlie lowered her sunglasses and walked past him, saying she was gonna be in her dorm. Del smiled slightly and laughed. "I don't even know her room number, but I can get it from Vars and Arith." His smile vanished "Connor." "Y-yes?" He reponded. "The whole arena is empty, save for the student with the durant over there, so between this time and curfew, I want you to teach me everything." He then began pointing accusingly. "And don't think I forgot about that hug, you bastard! Touch me again without my permission, and I swear to Arceus I'll make a Garbador look prettier than you when I'm done." "R-right." Connor said. "We'll start with type advantages and disadvantages..."

The ground below shifted from soft forest mulch, to loose sand, to rocks. Rocket hovered just above the ground, as walking on this surface would be precarious at best, dangerous at worst. Reese didn’t even notice that they’d reached the rocks, listening intently as she was to Jason’s recount of his past, until something shiny caught her eye. She blinked at Rune, the Galarian Yamask having come to hover directly in front of her, holding a rock that caught the light with the tiny chips of granite in it. The girl took the rock, shook it, and rapped her knuckles against it, her grin broadening.

“You found a geode, huh, Rune?” Reese asked the Pokémon excitedly. She glanced back at the rather unassuming rock, searching for a pocket to put it into. “I’ll have to crack this thing open once I get back to the dorm.” Riot, not to be outdone, zipped off between two piles of rock to find something to compete with Rune’s egg-shaped stone. Reese finally paid attention to the unique rock formations around them, eyes sparkling with eagerness. “I can already tell this place’ll have tons of cool stuff just waiting to be discovered!”

Though hard to tell, Hokori couldn't help but blush a little at what Thomas said about her being sweet.
"Aw, you're too kind..." She murmured, as Crabrawler, seeing the Steelix back off, backed off after shaking a fist at the Iron Snake, backing off to behind Hokori's seat rock. However, Hokori also soon frowned at what Thomas said next, but tried to shake off her worries.
"It's...not something I wanna talk about. Just that if they had their way..." She sighed as she shrugged. "But, hey, doesn't matter too much, lil bro's a prodigy, so I got them off ma case, so there's nuthin' to worry about!" She winked, trying to brush off the slight bad mood Thomas's question had left.

Standing up, she stretched a little.
"Well, moving on, wanna hang here for a little longer or do you wanna go somewhere else?" She asked eventually after a short moment of silence, Taupe now close to her again.

Thomas smiled at Hokori's reaction when he called her sweet and noticed her blush, although he didn't say anything about it. When she explained how she didn't want to talk about the other subject, he closed his eyes and nodded. "I understand." He simply replied before she mentioned how she had a brother, as Thomas was an only child, this made him raise an eyebrow with a light smile. "That's good to hear then." He said, he could tell she wanted to brush off the mood and he knew he should do the same.

Thomas looked back at his two Pokemon and decided to get out their Poke balls and return his two giant serpent Pokemon before he looked back at Hokori. "After seeing you manage to go and catch your Pokemon along with Charlie getting herself a new Pokemon before the headmaster's speech, I've been thinking about maybe catching a new Pokemon myself as I only have two right now. Perhaps even going back to the forest to see what Pokemon I can find if you wanna tag along."

Charlie walked along the path, across the bridge to the school and back towards the dormatory "that battle was incredible! I can't believe Raph cheated and still lost." One of the students said as they walked "I can't believe your flygon could take out both of his pokemon in one attack, or even survive an attack from both of them" another student responded. Charlie was walking in between the two, an arm around each student's shoulder "I'm surprised too..." Charlie mumbled, she was no longer crying but her face was red and the damp lines on her face where tears had been rolling down were clearly visible. One of the students bumped Charlie "hey hey, its all ok, I get that you are all upset about your pokemon but they'll be ok, that flygon of yours saved monferno's life out their. Honestly hard to believe Raph was planning on killing him. " he said, trying to cheer up Charlie. "I....I'm glad I won the fight, and that Kings ok. I don't understand why I'm so emotional right now..." Charlie said in a way that made it sound like a whimper "Charlie its gonna be ok. You impressed us out there and I think you'll be a top tier trainer here soon "the student to her left complimented with a smile on his face "actually did Mr. Hanzo say something to you earlier, before he drug Raph off?" The other added. Charlie's eyes widened a bit as she looked over at the letter in her hand "no, but he did give me this letter here". She said, removing her arms from of the students shoulder "oh? Hold on I'll open it for you" he took the letter and opened up the envelope, inside was a small card, the student without taking a peak at what it said held the card up to Charlie "huh? I'm in advanced battles!" She yelled out in surprise, she reached for the card and scanned it many time over "I made it to the advanced class...and Mr. Hanzo wants me to represent the class as a participant in some tournament this winter?!" Charlie's face grew a big smile before she almost fell down from excitement "wait really!? Mr. Hanzo must see some crazy potential in you then if he's letting a first year have a spot in an official tournament this far ahead of time! Congrats Charlie!" Both students cheered along with Charlie. "I wonder if any other students have been offered something like this yet?" One student asked.
The three continued to make way for the dorms. Charlie seeming to be in a happier mood then before.

James had arrived at battle strategies after the tree incident, and pulled in on his Steelix. He hopped off Steelix as he returned Vulpix and walked to Mr. Hanzo.

"Carmen, You're Facing James, his brother is the Evergrande League Champion for this year's Junior Division, it will be a two on Two." Mr. Hanzo told a red-haired girl.

"Let's see what you're made of." The red-haired female responded, "Coalossal, Show them the steam!"

A blue, giant rock with coal on top and spires jutting out the top of the rocks looked at James with an intimidating stare.

"Steelix, Let's show them!" James responded.

The Steel and Ground type slithered on to the field, looking at the Coalossal with a similar face.

"Battle begin!"

"Coalossal, Fire Blast!"

"Steelix, Use Earthquake!"

Carmen's Coalossal's aim was messed up by the Steelix Whacking his tail on the ground. The arena shook as Coalossal fired, which sent the blast harmlessly over Steelix's head.

"Charge up a Solar Beam!"

"Into the Ground!"

James knew he did not want Steelix to be above ground when that Solar Beam landed. The Coalossal had charged its attack.

"Time's up, Fire!"

Coalossal aimed for the end of Steelix's tail, but he had dug quickly enough that the attack went past him.

"Dig!"

The Steelix came up from underground, latching on to the Rock and Fire Type's foot.

"Thunder Fang!"

The Iron Snake Pokémon's mouth electrified, causing more damage to the Coal Pokémon. The Fire and Rock type Pokémon attempted to Shake off the Steel and Ground Type, but it wasn't working.

"Overheat!"

"Throw Coalossal into the air, then Stone Edge."

Half the Overheat had landed due to the time it took for Steelix to throw the Coalossal into the air, then whacked its tail to hit the Pokémon with a row of Stones. The Rock and Fire type landed on the Ground, knocked out after that one.

"Coalossal is unable to battle, Steelix is the winner! Please choose your final Pokémon, Carmen!"

Carmen returned Coalossal with a whisper, "You did Amazing for your first battle."

"Corsola, show them the Steam!"

A mostly pink, coral like Pokémon appeared in front of Carmen.

"Corsola vs Steelix!"

"Corsola, open this up with a Spike Cannon!"

"Earthq-!"

The Corsola shot the Steelix with Multiple spikes, almost like it was on rapid fire before it could even react. The Steelix roared but fell to the ground Knocked out.

"Steelix is unable to Battle, Corsola is the winner!"

James returned his Shiny Steelix and pulled out his starter's pokeball.

"That Coalossal did extremely well, and Steelix did amazing as well, but still, here's my Starter, Sceptile, Let's show them!"

The Forest Pokémon appeared in front of James, looking at the Corsola. The Water and Rock type had a Determined look.

"Corsola vs Sceptile, begin!"

"Corsola, use Bubble Beam!"

"Sceptile, jump, and use Leaf Blade!"

Sceptile gracefully lept over the stream of bubbles fired in his direction, and landed his attack right on one of Corsola's spikes. The Rock and Water Type cried out in pain, but soldiered on.

"Earth Power!"

Sceptile had literally landed on the Earth Power, but had naturally resisted, so it didn't do much.

"Let's keep things interesting, Drain Punch!"

Sceptile then looked for Corsola, and when he found it, he waited.

"When close to Sceptile, Icicle Spear!"

Sceptile saw an Icicle fly at him, and swatted it down, the same with the Second. The third hit his tail. Sceptile dropped the Drain Punch and prepared for an attack.

"Swords Dance!"

Sceptile started sharpening its leaves, red sparkles appeared around it. Mr. Hanzo's eyes widened, surprised that this kid knew about Status moves.

"Corsola, go for it, Spike Cannon Icicle Spear Volley!"

Spikes and Icicles started firing at Sceptile.

"Sceptile, remember our time in Kalos." James called out.

Sceptile thought hard and immediately figured out what to do, he started jumping oddly. As such Corsola and Carmen were both confused, and Sceptile only got clipped by four of the Spike Cannon spikes, and at that point was in front of Corsola.

"Spike Cannon!" Carmen Called out.

"Leaf Blade!" James called out.

"Oh cra-!"

The Corsola was hit with the force of leaves, leaves of sharpened steel. As it cried out, it then went unconscious from the attack.

"Corsola is unable to battle, Sceptile is the winner!"

James walked up to Carmen, who had returned Corsola, he returned Sceptile and looked at Carmen.

"Not bad, James, definitely worthy of praise." Carmen responded, "Corsola was one of my first companions, and I recently caught Coalossal."

"It gave my Steelix a run for its money," James responded.

"Not bad, James, you have some things to Learn, but also there is a move that can use Steelix's naturally high defenses to your advantage." Mr. Hanzo responded, handing him a letter, and a disc case, "That TR is for Body Press, a move that uses defense instead of attack for its power, I've seen the footage from your brother's match, and make sure he gets this, keep one for yourself, and this tournament letter as well, it would be something he'd be interested in."

James looked in the disc case and found two of the TR, he put one in his TMs case and kept the other in the case for Jason.

Emma nodded when Jack spoke about the Gigalith family. She knew it can be slow, but extremely powerful, her dad had a Gigalith as his Unova Ace, and one of his most Dangerous Pokémon to come across in his facility.

"If we were in the Battle Maze, this would have been a nightmarish encounter." Emma explained, "My Dad has one of these from when he was in Unova, and it was his Regional Ace up until he caught his Volcarona."

A Roggenrola had ran past them, which Emma held up her hand. Then the Gigalith kicked up a Sandstorm as a large black and white bipedal bear like creature. The creature had almost noticed Togetic when a large Green creature with spikes on its back appeared, angry at the Bear.

"We almost got spotted, but Tyranitar showed up."

The bear ended up backing down as The Roggenrola returned. Gigalith took his family over to another part of the area, as Tyranitar looked at the Roggenrola, who scurried off. Some Larvitars and A couple Pupitars had come up after Tyranitar. One of the Larvitars had noticed Emma and Jack. The young Pokémon wandered over as Togetic woke up.

Jason looked at Reese, she seemed very eager to be here from his point of view, he smiled at that, the excitement was similar to when he won the Hoenn League a few months back. To be honest, he was thinking some unexpected thoughts for a league champion, like this girl was cute when she was The young league champion looked over to see something strange, not to far off from when he found Aerodactyl's Old Amber. He went over with Metagross and spotted something.

"Metagross, you see that?" Jason asked his Pokémon.

Metagross used Meteor Mash around the the Rock they spotted, and cracked it open, and pulled something that kind of looked like a Miniature shield.

"Hey, Reese, I think I found Something!"

"Does that mean we're s--" Jack whispered, before quickly stopping once he saw that the Larvitar had noticed them. "Oh, no..." Jack said to himself as he crouched and shut his mouth. Justin kept his guard up, just in case. "If that Larvitar causes a sound, it'll cause the Tyranitar to come over, and that wouldn't leave us a favorable position...!" Jack whispered.

Hokori quickly nodded in response hearing Thomas's plan to go to the forest or at least find a new pokémon, deciding to also return Taupe and Beira to their pokeballs for now while Cor hopped onto her head.
"Alright, well, ya stuck with me to come here, so am going with you then." She soon said. "Gotta make sure you don't get attacked by someone outta your league, after all!" She added, pumping her fists a little.

Ivan set's the spheal on the ground and walks over to Laura once she talked about the shiny ditto but stopped once he realized what he was just doing in front of her.

Why did I do that in front of her? God darn it, you suck at looking cool in front of people.

Ivan stood in place before pinching his cheek to snap back into reality and started talking.

"You should catch it, I don't really want a ditto, even though I think it is cute."

As Alex continued playing, the aura flames spread from his right hand and slowly covered his body. Aria and Gwen sat down as well and listened with half closed eyes as they relaxed, Aria in meditation and Gwen like a lady. Soon they were joined by several wild Pokemon that happened to be nearby.
Once Alex had finished playing, he opened his eyes and asked Dom. "Have you calmed down?"

Reese hopped down from Rocket’s shoulder as the Golurk landed. She walked over to Jason to get a closer look at the rock he had found. “Lemme see,” she said, leaning down to get up close and personal with the rock, nose just a few millimeters from the surface. She brushed loose sand out of cracks and divots with the careful consideration of a scientist. Reese blinked, not quite believing her eyes, then fell back on her behind.

“Holy mother of all things dusty and ancient,” she breathed. “That’s an Armor fossil!” She folded one of her legs under herself as she reached for her notebook, flipping through the pages before she found a hand-drawn diagram of fossil Pokémon and their corresponding stones. “If I’m correct… yeah, yeah, that can be revived into a Shieldon! Which would then evolve into Bastiodon after enough training… this place must be hecka mineral-rich!” Reese licked her thumb to turn the page better, flipping to a blank sheet and starting to jot down notes.

At that point, Riot and Rune returned from their competition for who could find the most and best quality rocks, and they deposited their findings in Reese’s lap. She made a face like a child about to open their Christmas presents, starry-eyed, and started pawing through the small pile. A few were just stones that would be good for skipping, or ones that were shaped strangely. A few were hollow or partially crystalized. One had a distinguishing lump on it, and Reese flipped back to the page with the diagram, eyes wide and pencil stuck in her mouth. She exclaimed in surprise, pencil forgotten as it fell. “A Dome fossil! This is insane!” She wiggled in pure excitement, and Riot twisted proudly in the air, asserting dominance over Rune, who stuck its tongue out at the Sigilyph. “Part of me wants to get a shovel and just pick a place and start digging until I hit bedrock!”

"Ok, one more time, from the top." Connor said, slightly confident. Del had completely taken off the jacket and set it to the side as he was beginning to burn up in it through his intense training, and subsequently, his pokemon. "Alright. Procedure C1!" Del said with what sounded like a hint of bliss through the fruits of his efforts. "Procedure 1, I'll use my size to my advantage, and leave the slaughter untill the clock strikes." Algo charged full force at Connor's Sawk and just before making impact, curled up into the fluff on its back and into a small ball shape and rolled right between the Sawk's legs where Algo unfurled himself and struck behind the knee, successfully making contact. The Sawk dropped to one knee and turned to swipe at Algo, but he was a tad too slow. Some 1st years who were ditching their other classes and hanging around looking to pick fights glanced over at pointed at Del, "it's him!" They cried out as they began to watch with baited breath. The whimsicott lept up on the Sawk's back. "Giga drain!" Del shouted in time as the whimsicott began absorbing some health. "Saaaaaaaw!-" the Sawk cried out before reaching over his head and grabbing Algo by the fluff. He pulled Algo off his back and slammed him into the ground hard enough that he felt it through the fluff, but the sick whimsicott only smiled while having the air knocked out of it. The Sawk reared his back, ready to finish this in one blow, but once again was too slow as Algo rolled out of the way. "Whimsy!" "Vile thing, don't you dare lay your filthy mitts upon me again!" Algo stood up, panting. Del stood with sweat dripping off his brow and doen onto his already swest stained shirt. "Think, Del." Connor said. Del was running through a few scenarios when suddenly the Sawk took the offensive, but just as the Sawk practically lept, Del called out, "Procedure H!" Algo pushed off from where he was and went left and the Sawk quickly followed, as they ran beside each other, Algo began to hum. Connor's eyes widened and he raised his eyebrows. "Good call, but don't think I'll let it happen so easily!" He ended up shouting, causing the 1st years to get riled up seeing a 3rd year go all out. Algo stopped dead in his tracks to try and throw off the Sawk, but he was too experienced for that to work. The second before Algo lept back, Sawk through a kick which hit Algo directly in his arm. Algo winced as it wasn't the first time he was hit in the arm during training, but it was the first time he got hit and continued to hum. The Sawk charged again, only this time slower and ended up missing with a punch. Algo's humming got quieter and both him and Sawk began to lay down before eventually... they both fainted.

The 1st year viewers erupted into cheers and began jumping up and down and high fiving one another, afterwards they ran up to Del, who recognized them immediately. "You're all those brats from the infirmary!" "Yep, sure are! After hearing you call us, your equals, pathetic, we decided to train harder than ever before!" "Is that why you were standing over against the wall? Don't act like you all are innocent, if you're lying to me, I swear to Arceus, I'll-" "Del." Connor said in his normally quiet tone of voice. "Mr. Hanzo wanted me to give this to you." He said kind of worried. "A letter? It looks different from what Charlie got." He grabbed the letter and examined it. It was navy blue, with a bright red wax seal on it. He broke the seal and began to read the letter aloud. "Dear Mr. Del, a group of students I had previously had major complaints about through the staff and faculty of this school were caught today training together for once. Upon further investigation, the students claimed to be motivated by your, 'harsh yet true nature' we here at the academy, hope you will accept the award for helping these young, impresionable students through their studies by..." Del stared at the page, his eyes practically bugging out of his head. "BECOMING CHEER CAPTAIN FOR KYOGRE LAKE ACADEMY?!" "See! We told you we were training!" The kids shot up in defense for themselves. "This is just!-" Del ran over and picked up Connor. "This is just incredible, ha!..." he put Connor back down. "Ahem. This is cool, I guess." He said, both of them blushing. "But, hey, what gives? I thought I told Mr. Hanzo not to call me Mr. Del looked back at the note, and began sweating bullets. "S-signed... The Headmistress." "That's fantastic, we'll go see her now." Connor said about to grab Del's arm before pulling back. "Oh right, no touching without permission, sorry." Del's head creaked as he turned it to face Connor. "Do we HAVE to run by her office to accept this?" "Well, I assume so, unless you don't want to be-" "Fine! Let's get a move on." "Hey, wait!" The younger kids called out, "you forgot your jacket, old man!" The kids taunted. "I'm only 2 years older than most of you!" He said snatching his jacket, putting it on, and heading in the direction of the Headmistress's office with Connor in tow, talking about possible formations with Algo.
