Personality: Midori appears to be a cold and distant individual, she always puts her objective and the honor of her clan first and everything else second. This includes her own well being. She is very harsh towards others who appear any less than fully dedicated to their clan or family. Despite having this strict personality, traces of a softer side occasionally seeps through her hard shell. She often wonders how she might have turned out if she had a more normal childhood.
Personal History: Heir to the Jian clan of Kumogakure, Midori has had a less than desirable childhood. At the very young age of 4 years old, she was put under a rigorous training regiment by her father, the clan head. His goal was to mold Midori into a tool to bring back their clan's honor and reestablish their position in the village. Because of this, Midori never got to enjoy her childhood as she spend it entirely on improving her sword skills and etiquette.
Clan History: The Jian clan is famed for their mastery of the sword. Throughout the history of Kumo, the Jian clan has produced some of the finest swordsmen in all the 5 great nations. So since Kyuu and Zander both had an interest in a Kumo character, I’d be okay with moving Keba to a different village and one of you guys could fill in (especially since it seems we now have an excess of swordsmen in Kumo xD).
If it’s alright I’d ideally move him to Rain, Waterfall, or Frost but I’d need two other characters to be made to go with Keba. So if anyone’s interested in making another character for one of those villages lmk, otherwise I’ll probably drop to make room for Kyuu or Zander’s next character cause it’s their rp so they should get first dibs and the kekkei tota was controversial anyways.

Well, @Mystic Zander if you wanna make your Cloud OC then go ahead; because I've been chatting with Mango, and building up the Frost Village from nothing does sound like an interesting project.
We'd need to talk logistics though. This would open up two slots, one in Kumo and one in the Frost, which I'd like claims on before we even proceed any further with this idea.

In the meanwhile, we want to talk about Shimogakure itself. The village has probably been around for...maybe 60 years or so. The land of frost doesn't have much to go off of in terms of history. The only thing we know about it is that the Frost Daimyo taxes his already poor citizens and then spends the money on prostitutes.

Most of the time, he doesn’t even bother to brush it except for funerals, and it usually hangs limply around his shoulder length. His eyes are a murky brown that matches his hair, appearing like muddy water. His skin tone is lightly tanned, and he is thin and wiry, standing at about 5’7”.
Hideki’s outfit prioritizes comfort above all else, a good analogy for his whole philosophy. He wears loose khaki pants, secured at the bottom with bandage wrappings. He hardly ever wears shoes, since they tend to hinder his already-clumsy feet, instead opting to wrap them halfway with bandages. On top, he wears a dark brown jacket with a tanuki fur-rimmed hood half-zipped up. The cuffs of his sleeves are also fur-trimmed, and a small furred charm that looks similar to a tanuki’s tail dangles from his left breast pocket. He doesn’t wear a shirt under, but wears a cream-colored scarf with his shinobi headplate attached to it around his waist as a belt.

Paired with a control freak father and a mother with fantasies of “restoring Shimo pride” is bound to cause tensions within his family. Pursued and fought over by both parents for his extreme talent in genjutsu, each wanting to use his power for their own reasons, he became a cynical and pessimistic soul with a bitter outlook on the world.
As an only child, Hideki didn’t have a sibling to turn to, nor any close friends. So when his family situation took a violent turn, he ran away to the house of a family friend and clanmate, Kirai Sho. She was like a second mother to him, and gave him refuge when he wanted to hide from his parents. She died when he was thirteen, sending him into an angry depressive spiral. He opted to enter the chunin exams without telling his family, to prove that he was his own person, and would not be controlled by anyone, least of all them.
He uses tricks of the light to play genjutsu mind games with his opponents, heightened by making the ground beneath them roll and pitch just enough that they think they are going insane. These tricks are boosted by his main weapon, mirrored strings that reflect light, usually attached to kunai (which is probably the one thing he can throw without hitting about twenty feet away from its target). His main motto when fighting is “help the enemy defeat themself.”
Despite his fierce drive to prove himself, Hideki still tends to be quite distant, not bothering to get to know people outside of their fighting styles. His attitude tends to be flippant and apathetic, unopinionated on most topics. While quick-witted, tricky, by-the-book smart, and often manipulative, he is also exceptionally clumsy, and holds the record in his village for “most falls without any visible reason” by a long shot.

Despite not liking people, Momo can be exceptionally good at handling them. Due to her family’s occupation of Shimogakure’s shrine and their duty as emotional pillars in the village, she’s been taught how to react to others positively, to console and comfort, and to put up facades to better their moods. These counseling sessions within the village are often done in one-on-one areas as exposure to many strong emotions can cause Momo to go through wild mood swings. Past experiences have given Momo an intense hatred for unreservedly licentious people.

In the first part of her appearance, I noticed you kept putting “was”. Did something happen to her appearance?
Nah, just that RP writing has to be in past-tense so I just kept that tense.
Here’s my updated Keba bio, the changes are pretty minor but I figured I might as well post him by the rest of the people in his village.

The user is given the ability to create electrically charged clouds which leads to a wide array of applications. The capabilities of the clouds scale to the user’s strength so it is not an inherently powerful ability. For example, about all Keba can do for now is generate small clouds and move them with wind, basically allowing him to run in the air. Passing a metallic object through a cloud would charge it with electricity and increase its capabilities. The clouds are also capable of shooting water bullets and small zaps of lightning, though they would understandably disappear after extended usage. An expert application for Keba would include creating a large thundercloud to engulf the battlefield and utilize the electricity with his swords to increase their power and speed and generate electric slashes.

The user is given the ability to create electrically charged clouds which leads to a wide array of applications. The capabilities of the clouds scale to the user’s strength so it is not an inherently powerful ability. For example, about all Keba can do for now is generate small clouds and move them with wind, basically allowing him to run in the air. Passing a metallic object through a cloud would charge it with electricity and increase its capabilities. The clouds are also capable of shooting water bullets and small zaps of lightning, though they would understandably disappear after extended usage. An expert application for Keba would include creating a large thundercloud to engulf the battlefield and utilize the electricity with his swords to increase their power and speed and generate electric slashes.

While he knows the signature Kenjutsu’s of both of his villages (cloud-style and frost-style), Keba has also developed his own kenjutsu that is a combination of the two. He combines the speed and powerful slashes of cloud-style, the precision and utility of frost-style, and his own agility and acrobatic movements to create flurry-style. Keba holds two of his swords in reverse grip while throwing the other two like boomerangs as he darts from cloud to cloud, overwhelming opponents with speedy attacks from all angles.
Eventually he will get a bo staff that he uses to conduct lightning.

Keba is a boy who lives without a care. This is largely due to the fact that his entire existence is greatly considered wasted potential and so he is not particularly inspired to try to achieve anything. By coupling up one of their best users of storm release and one of their finest wind natured shinobi, Kumogakure had high hopes that the child would grow into one of the greatest warriors the village had ever produced. Instead, they were given an unambitious child whose fabled Kekkei Tota seemed to be little more useful than a party trick. Humiliated by the shame brought to his family by his son’s disappointing ability, Keba’s father was determined to force his son into becoming a great shinobi in order to restore honor to his name. Unfortunately for the man, no matter how many times he tortured, cut, and abused his guiltless child, Keba’s sense of humor and carefree nature were unable to be beaten out of him, so his father eventually gave up and disowned the boy.
Keba was unbothered by the events though, and actually enjoyed his free lifestyle in which he would waste away his days sleeping in the clouds and flunking school without consequence despite possibly being the most naturally intelligent student in the building. There was something endearing about his carefree nature as if people envied his ability to let any troubles or hardships blow past him like the wind and live without worries and burdens. His infectious personality sustained his lifestyle through the numerous friends he had charmed. There was a person in every corner of the village that would offer meals or a place to spend the night.
This continued on for years, but often as boys mature and grow, so does their interest in females. Keba was yet another victim of this trend which ultimately led to a turning point in his life. One day, Keba crossed paths with an older female jonin who had just returned from a mission. As many women do in the world of naruto, she had quite large...... assets. Keba was immediately smitten, and began his efforts to earn her favor. However, he would soon suffer the worst rejection of his life as his boyish charm had no effect on the girl and she merely laughed at him, pointing out that his entire life had been a complete failure and thinking someone like him had a chance with her showed how dumb he really was. She then went on to explain that women are only attracted to men they can respect and she doubted he could even swing a sword.
For the first time in his life Keba had resolve. He knew if he could gain the reputation of a great shinobi his life would be filled with women like the one from that day. He elevated from putting no effort into his studies to putting in the minimal amount of effort required to excel. After school he would hide in the clouds and watching the greatest shinobi in his village train and then go on to workout late into the night.
After observing Killer B’s unique sword style, Keba was determined to invent his own that would set him apart and therefore make him stand out to girls. He was reminded of his father’s great sword that had been passed down from generation to generation in their clan and most recently used to give Keba the scar across his nose. That night, Keba stole the family heirloom and rationalized his crime by figuring the sword was meant to be passed onto him once he became a shinobi anyways. He then brought it to a sword smith, and sense he was unable to go to a very good one out of fear of being caught, the blade broke into four pieces as it was being reworked; however, it was a blessing in disguise as it led to the development of his signature sword style.
Keba’s father was enraged after he discovered his prized sword had been stolen and set out with a vengeance to find the thief. In order to avoid his wrath, Keba fled high to the clouds but a powerful storm rolled in and blew Keba far away until he landed on a snow capped mountain in the frost village of Shimogakure. Though the village was poor and small, Keba awoke to a kind, albeit scraggly, group of shinobi tending to Keba and offering him what little food they had as he recovered from his rough journey. It was a nice change to be regarded as a unique and special shinobi rather than a disappointment. The genuinely kind people and a blossoming crush on the village leaders daughter inspired Keba to stay and make the village his home, hoping to one day become a shinobi great enough to repay his debt to Shimogakure by putting it on the map and possibly winning the affections of the girl.

Would it be okay if I changed Ryu Ryu's chakra nature to yang/wind nature. The yang style would mostly just be benefit his taijutsu abilities. It's fine if you say no though. I figured I'd I'd atleast ask.
Yang has to do with life force, it doesn't directly affect taijutsu. What did you have in mind?
Choji uses yang style in his expansion jutsu, does he not? I was thinking of a similar body manipulation. Though rather than grow in body mass, Ryu Ryu would toughen his body. In a similar manner to kirishima from my hero academia.
Partial Expansion is indeed Yang Release, but so is Konan's Paper Shikigami jutsu. Yang Release does affect the body in some vague and undefined ways. However, I think if you're toughening your body then you're better off utilizing earth release. If you've got body-related things in mind after toughening his body then Yang Release might be what you're looking for; but, the toughening effect won't be as strong as earth release.

If ALL you want is toughening, then earth is the go-to.
If you've got more changes to your body in mind then Yang Release might be better, like...turning yourself into Bonolenov from Hunter x Hunter.
Having transformations sounds cool, but I'll probably go with the safer route wind/earth. Give him simple body hardening jutsu. Thanks again.

This memorandum contains C L A S S I F I E D information on the forest of death:
As the data-book states, this forest is dangerous even for Chunin, and we fully intend to present that danger. If you aren't careful you will die or otherwise have a very bad time.
The dangers of the forest of death include:
- Giant Tigers
- Giant Bears
- Giant Snakes
- Giant Leeches
- Giant Centipede
- Other Shinobi
Some of these giant Tigers and Bears will function as wondering bosses that may decide to show up and ruin your day. In addition to them, the Giant Leeches and Centipedes will have broods/nests where tens or hundreds of them might reside. You are advised to avoid those areas at all costs. Most of the fauna is presumed poisonous and you'll have to forage for your own food.
Note that a river runs through the forest, so that will be a possible source of food and water.
As I stated before, outside of the OCs there will be Shinobi from the various villages participating, since we don't want characters fodderized, there will be a few controlled characters running around who will be on the same level as the OCs. Zander or I will probably be controlling them.
Unlike in canon, we'll strive to have ranks mean something so you can expect a character with a given rank to have the associated strength.

Giant bears and tigers, huh? That doesn't sound too ba- giant centipede?!?!?! The sound of thousands if not millions of tiny giant legs furiously scuffling around. Centipedes are basically if spiders and snakes had a baby. Horrible thought. Giant leeches?!?! What the actual hell is this!!! Oh hell no. I'm contacting the mandalorian death watch to burn this forest to the ground.
In the anime it seemed like all the characters or atleast most of them faught as squads but in this RP I have the feeling our characters are going to have the choice to go in alone.
I should have mentioned this second question sooner, but each squad in the anime/idk about the manga, only got 1 scroll each. Though it's been an extremely long time since I seen the chunin exams episodes so I could be wrong.

In the canon exam, each squad did have one scroll. Since genin squads haven't been formed here yet, each genin will have their own scroll and need to get the opposite scroll in order to pass. However, if you meet up with someone during the exam, you could stick together. Of course, they still have to get the scroll they need. For example, if you're with someone who has an earth scroll while you have a heaven scroll, you still need to get your own earth scroll. If the exam is almost over and neither of them has the scroll they need, they could end up fighting each other. The same can be said if the person or group you're with needs the same scrolls. They can end up fighting each other over one scroll. Basically, while teaming up has its benefits, everyone still has to fend for themselves.
This question is also a bit weird due to teams not having been formed in any of the villages yet lel

I thought the teams were formed already. All the teams were formed when the anime started the chunin exams. Do I need to edit?
Yeah, there will be some changes from canon. It's why we see some people from the same village who are just now meeting each other. For this RP, I believe the teams will be formed after the exams so an edit would probably be good.
As Retro said, we’re sticking with a rough draft of the original story, but that’s about it.
We intend to...fix issues in the original storyline here and there.
This simply means that the rp will gradually break away from canon more and more over time, so if you’ve got questions about something plot-related, bring em up.
Ill probably have more in the future, but for now the only question crosses my mind now. Will Rpers be taking scrolls from NPCs or each other? I'm assuming this may be up to the individual RPer. Having a scroll taken means now you gotta get both scrolls. Thoughts?

You can take scrolls from either, but it would be preferable to go after another OC. If you’re unable to do so for some reason or end up losing a scroll, then going after an NPC should be fair as well. However, Kyuu and Zandy will probably be controlling those NPCs, so going for them definitely won’t be an easy pass lel
