Gender: Male
Age: 25
Trainer Class: Rider & Explorer
Appearance: Slim and standing at about 1,80m tall, with short brown hair and light skin. While physically not a very strong individual, his light stature makes him quite athletic.
Gear: He wears a riding outfit, consisting of a dark-grey t-shirt, grey breeches, tall boots, and occasionally fingerless gloves. He also packs on the lighter side, with only a belt pocket to carry the essentials (medicine, first aid, small tools, berries, pokéballs, etc...). He has no backpack or any heavy gear that would hinder him.
Personality: Rick can be quite an introvert individual, especially when it comes to strangers. He prefers to spend his time with his pokémon rather than with other people. He often has a hard time at maintaining a conversation, although this gets better as he gets along with someone, to the point where you'd barely notice his introvert nature. Despite this, he has no problems assisting someone in need. Due to his preferred lifestyle away from cities and closer to nature, he doesn't feel comfortable among crowds, and usually tries to avoid them. When it comes to battles, he tends to engage only when necessary. He may do them for training, or friendly skirmishes if someone asks him to, but he's not very fond of simply battling for sport. In those cases, he will often hold back and evaluate the opponent, then act accordingly to their perceived skills. Otherwise, he won't hold back if it's a serious confrontation.
Skills: He's well versed in self-defense, especially in grappling to compensate for its below average physical strength, if the need arises. He also shows great prowess in riding certain pokémon species, especially his Rapidash, which he practiced to perfection. In many cases, he will even ride her in battle. Many years exploring different areas and biomes also gave him plenty of survival skills and made him particularly good at taking advantage of the environment.
Background: Rick grew in Emeragrove Town with his parents, in Sinnoh. His interest in nature and exploration started from very young age. At the age of 16, he wanted to have his own pokémon that he could bond and share his adventures with, however he refused to do it by force. Not that he could anyways, without a pokémon he could use to weaken them first. Visiting a house whose mission was to give pokémon a new home, he ended up adopting a (presumably) orphan Ponyta. They trained together until they grew more and more attached to each other, and eventually they had gotten enough experience to venture further away from town, ultimately leaving Emeragrove at the age of 20. His Ponyta evolved some time after, which allowed Rick to venture into more remote, riskier (and arguably rewarding) areas. With time, he became exceptionally good at it, and his feats didn't go unnoticed. He eventually received an invite from a long-time family friend to be his assistant and do field work for him. Sounding like an opportunity of a lifetime (and to much to his parents' mental wellbeing of having someone looking for him), Rick accepted.
Name: Iris
Gender: Female
Ability: Flash Fire
Bio: Iris was Rick's first pokémon, which he adopted from a barn from very young age when she was still a ponyta. They've been together ever since, and quickly became best friends. Rick keeps her out of her ball most of the time, and she's free to roam as she pleases, although she rarely strays too far without a reason. She also serves as Rick's main means of transportation. While she can be quite jolly when in the mood, she does have a bit of temper and a general distrust towards strangers (human or pokémon), especialy those who get too close without her concent, although she's not overly aggressive and is actually courteous to those she trusts. She's quite protective towards Rick, standing her ground against anything she feels poses a threat, and has enough combat experience to be capable of fighting by her own without instructions, if needed.

Ability: Solar Flare - Grants immunity to Fire and simulates the effects of harsh sunlight (doesn't actualy change the weather itself)
Description: Exposure to high amounts of energy from a Meteonite gave Iris the innate ability to change into a powered forme. While transformed, her speed, strength, and special abilities are greatly enhanced, and she becomes able to fly. Just like the Meteonite itself, she also serves as an artifical sun, as she's constantly releasing the same kind of energy. Her appearance doesn't change much aside from a pair of flaming wings that she grows from her shoulders, and her coat glows due to the energy that radiates from her body. Her flames also brigthen, and depending on her temperature, these will range from red-orange to white-yellow. As energy is released, she gradualy goes back to her original cream-colored coat and red-orange flames, until she ultimately reverts to her standard forme once the energy runs out. There seems to be some sort of solar absorption, as it lasts longer during the day, but is shortened when overcast, at night, or indoors. The usage of moves, special attacks in particular, drains more energy. Intensive fights may result in fatigue or even fainting.

Name: Zephir
Gender: Male
Ability: Chlorophyll
Bio: As an eevee, Zephir had always been the "pet pokémon" of Rick's family. Never meant for battling nor to receive any combat training to begin with. He became Rick's second pokémon when his father gifted it to him before leaving home. He was later exposed to a Moss Stone during Rick's travels and evolved into a Leafeon, at which point he actualy started developing his abilities thoroughly. Zephir is a very pacifist pokémon who spends most of his day sleeping on the treetops or any spots where the Sun shines. He's a very sociable and higly curious pokémon, very quick at making friends with other pokémon nearby, if given the chance. He prefers not to fight an opponent head on, and most of the time sticks to more of a supporting role. Nonetheless, when he must face an opponent head on, Zephir shows great skill in close quarters, and has his fair share of tricks to use in combat.

Name: Pearl
Gender: Female
Ability: Shed Skin
Bio: Pearl was the latest pokémon that Rick got. She was rescued while Rick was exploring Mt. Coronet and found a group of bounty hunters trying to forcefully capture pokémon for profit. Pearl is arguably the most calm of Rick's pokémon. She never evolved into a Dragonite despite all the years of training, and while most people would see that as a bad thing, Rick actualy prefers it that way and hopes that she will never change. Since she would never develop her full physical strength as a middle stage, her training was shifted towards weather manipulation and elemental attacks. She also serves as Rick's alternative means of transport for air or water travel.

I already edited my first post with the Pokémon section, which I'm quoting here so you don't have to go look for it. The character is supposed to have more, but they'll be added as/if they're used.
Alright, I'm gonna need you or someone else to post again. In the service of that, lemme throw out a topic:To help Kyuu with testing, I just wanted to let everyone know I have gotten a legendary capture essentially approved and just need to write out the battle.

Where is the National Park in relation to the swarm in upper Johto?
Yeah I'm interested, I might be able to have Jack arrive in time
excellent, excellentI'm also here now
The Sanguine Swarm, yes. Yes, I have character. Let me get... let me get her... hehehe.....
Don't mind me sounding like an absolute drug dealer in a trench coat

The 'H' next to Olivine and below Ecruteak is the national park, so it's within the range of the Sanguine Swarm.
excellent, excellent
I'd love to see many teams tackle this in different ways, I'm sure one of you will manage to find the root of the problem!
accepted o7 welcome to the crewName: Nakano Saito
Nickname: Naka, Sai
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Trainer Class: Trainer/Intern Researcher
Physical Appearance: Sun-kissed skin, she has shaved the sides of her head for an undercut to form a deathhawk (which is where the hair is longer from front to back), which she'll put up in a ponytail. Her hair is blonde, can be flipped either side as it's long enough, her eyes are light grey, and she is 5'03" (160 cm) and weighs 125 lbs (56.7 kg). She has a scar running from the middle of her cheek down her neck from a Pokemon's Slash attack. She has scars on her body from training her Pokemon and using her body to block hits. Mixed lean muscle from casually working out on her journeys and training from her father.
Clothing: She usually wears a tank top in various colors, jean shorts, and black combat boots in hotter weather; a t-shirt of varying colors, a black jacket (for when it gets chilly or windy), jeans, and black combat boots in temperate weather; and a long-sleeved shirt of varying colors, heavy-duty jeans, and black winter boots in winter weather. She always has a brown backpack that's covered in floral pink and green flowers that holds all of her items. She also has a white and black checkered belt that houses her PokeBalls and a camouflage jacket when she’s out on field research.
Overall Personality: Nakano is well known to be serious about Pokemon in general, yet friendly to most people when they approach her. She is pretty generous, giving her things away to those who she deems need them more. However, time is a bit more sacred to her and she tends to study and work too much. A spunky, compassionate sweetheart, whose patience may not be up to snuff and can get into arguments easily. She is curious about literally everything and won’t shy away from asking plenty of questions in pursuit of knowledge, coming off as nosey at times. She can range between being an optimist to what she thinks is being a realist when it’s actually pessimistic when on a bad day. She doesn't much care about herself and is reckless, as she enjoys the pain inflicted upon her, but she understands that Pokemon attacks shouldn't be trifled with and does what she can to make sure everyone is alive at the end of it. She understands the complexities of the world around her and finds it difficult to stop analyzing what she has in front of her and just go with what feels right.
Virtues: Nakano is, as mentioned before, friendly. She wants to be friends with everyone and has a good amount of a patience, dealing with those with a smile on her face who she'd rather not deal with. She also tends to "match" her personality to fit in with those who are different from her, so that they don't hate her, but she always tends to act more mature. She is also rather intelligent, however she may not be as wise.
Vices: Nakano doesn't mind getting hurt, and she will gladly put herself in harm's way to help someone or calm down a Pokemon. While she can be patient, hormones make her rather impatient and while she does her best to be a good role model, sometimes she may snap. Her rage, while not common, still is a little terrifying because she can go from a general sweetheart to someone who won't flinch making someone cry, especially towards those she actually dislikes, making those who she "matches" her personality to confused and hurt. She also is way too analytical and has forgotten how to follow her gut instincts. Whoever thought working too much was a bad thing, but apparently it can lead to burn out and symptoms of depression, something that Nakano suffers from sometimes.
Fears: While most people have a general aversion to public speaking or performance, Nakano has an upright irrational phobia of doing so. Amongst a group of people, it's fine, especially when she's showing off her knowledge and facts or teaching others what she knows. But to speak out publicly and get the attention of multiple people? Or worse yet, perform in front of a large audience, especially a live one. She could do gym battles in every region minus Galar, but she couldn't do stadium tournaments or contests or performances. They scare her to death and she starts to constantly fuss over her perfection when she does so. Or she just freezes up and locks in place. Another thing she fears is losing her work. Her work is her life. She loses it and she might not want to travel or work on her projects anymore. Another fear she has is when she makes a friend and they need her. It's terrifying not being there for your friends, but Nakano has it pretty bad, unable to set aside her worries if she knows her friends are in danger and she can't do anything to stop it. She isn't very emotional, but when she does crack, it breaks into a waterfall.
Backstory: Born to Bansyou, a Hoenn-born Sumo Wrestling Champion with his famous Hariyama, and Aria, a Unova-born Pokemon and human nurse, as a firstborn, she was brought up in a loving family. She was taught that perseverance, determination, patience, and hard work was what drove a person to do amazing things and she was rewarded as she learned these principles in life. She was a quick academic student, taking classes that would put her on field trips to different regions to learn about the Pokemon, their habitats, and more. Not only that, but she is a wonderful socialite despite her tendency to take things literally and overanalyzing everything, making her a favorite among many people. However, she grew to dislike her small-scale fame (while also fearing the public eye in mass amount), choosing to marry herself to her work once she became a researcher at the age of sixteen for Professor Rowan - or at least get there, starting as an intern. Her constant workaholic nature has caused her depression and anxiety to form (along with her perfectionistic nature) in her teenage years, but it has not become unmanageable due to there not being a harsh enough stimulus to affect her performance poorly. The most she feels would be similar to the effects of burnout.
At the age of ten, she was given the Pokemon Pichu by her father. Throughout her academia life and that of her field trips, she’s caught other Pokemon. These include a lonely Eevee, an Arrokuda and Hatenna during her short tenure in Galar, and a Diglett. As she was doing a fossil excavation, she found an Old Amber, and promptly revivified it, bringing the Aerodactyl to life. She has caught other Pokemon in her trips, those who mainly help with travel, her future research, or battling.
Nearing her birthday, she was sent abroad to work for Professor Oak in Kanto, and maybe do some more hands-on teaching for the young trainers setting off for their journies. To not scare the children, she brought with her the Pichu and Eevee.
Starters:Species/Type: Pichu - Electric (This type allows Chu to prevent paralysis from ability or move)
Nickname: Chu
Gender: Female
Ability: Lightning Rod - Chu’s biology forces lightning from nearby to become drawn to her body, her body hardening to take the power of lightning without a sweat. Her pouches are far larger and more absorbent than the rest of her species without this ability, allowing her to draw in a 15 foot radius, absorb, and utilize the lightning within the Electric-Type attacks to boost the potency of her Special Attack. This ability gives better phone reception, even when there shouldn’t be any reception. It also causes Electric-Types to become drawn to this Pokemon with this ability if she is out of her PokeBall.
Appearance: Being a runt, Chu’s height and weight is less than that of her species (1’00” | 30.5 cm, 4.4 lbs | 2.0 kg). Instead, she is 8 inches (20.3 cm) and weighs 3 lbs (1.4 kg). Her cheeks also look a little thicker around her electrical pouches.
Nature/Personality: Timid | Chu is naturally shy, naive and quick to run off after assessing the sound as dangerous (even if it isn't). After getting to know someone, she’ll become bubbly and mischievous, playing practical pranks on those she deems as friends and just being a happy, silly ball of fluff. She is quite emotional though, unable to control herself when feeling a strong emotion, whether negative or positive. That’s due to her more psychological baseline as a Baby Pokemon. She will be more in control of herself and be less naive if, and when, she evolves.
History: Chu was born from league-fighting Pokemon from Nakano’s father, who raised Chu from infancy. Nakano aided in taking care of not only Chu, but other Baby Pokemon he had, but found herself more attached to Chu as they grew. Nakano received Chu as a gift from her father as soon as she reached the age of ten. The two of them rarely ever separated, going through thick and thin with each other and seeing each other at their worst. They’ve had fights, they made up, they supported each other, and they have both nearly died protecting each other as they journeyed alongside each other for years. Chu had helped find the rest of Naka’s team and was a welcoming hostess to Naka’s party. Three times Chu almost evolved, and each time she refused, preferring to stay as a Pichu. Nakano always thought this strange, but thought it was a comfort thing for Chu. In fact, there were plenty of times Chu should have evolved and it would have been easier for them if she had, but Chu stayed as a Pichu not because it was comfortable and she was used to it, but because she thought their relationship as best friends would change and Nakano would regard her differently if she had evolved. She thinks they’ll be together forever, her naïve mind not realizing that time exists beyond the passage of day and night and that there won’t be a forever, but a human’s lifetime and that something can just easily whisk her away from right under her nose.
Moves: Due to Nakano being a bit creative, I will only be sharing the effects the moves do and where she learned it from.
1. Thunderbolt - Electric - Special - Learned from father's female Alolan Raichu; has a 1/10 chance of paralyzing the opponent.
2. Electric Terrain - Electric - Status - Born knowing the move from mother's male Manectric; electrifies the field, lasting for 5 of my posts and affects all Pokemon that are grounded. Boosts the power of Electric-Type moves for those affected by 30%, prevents Pokemon from sleeping (Rest will fail, and so will being drowsy from Yawn), Rising Voltage does double damage, Terrain Pulse becomes Electric-Type, Nature Power becomes Thunderbolt, Secret Power may cause paralysis, Mimicry changes user of ability to Electric-Type, and Camouflage changes user to Electric-Type.
3. Charge - Electric - Status - Born knowing the move from mother's male Manectric; charges up so the next Electric-Type move directly after will deal double damage. It also raises the user's Special Defense.
4. Thunder Wave - Electric - Status - Naturally learned; sends a weak jolt of electricity to paralyze the opponent.
5. Flash - Normal - Status - Learned via brother's Jolteon tutoring her; makes herself shine in a bright light to lower the target's accuracy, temporarily blinding them. It can also be used to illuminate the darkness.
6. Helping Hand - Normal - Status - Learned via brother's Jolteon tutoring her; with increased priority, she shares energy with a nearby ally to double the damage their attack deals.
7. Disarming Voice - Fairy - Special - Born knowing the move from father's female Alolan Raichu; hard to dodge and affects all adjacent foes, but can be dodged. Doesn't affect those with Soundproof. Can't be used if affected by Throat Chop's effect.
8. Nasty Plot - Dark - Status - Naturally learned; thinks nasty thoughts and dirty schemes, raising her Special Attack considerably.
Species/Type: Eevee - Normal
Nickname: Fluffy
Gender: Male
Ability: Adaptability - When using Normal-Type moves, they increase in power output due to the Pokemon's ability to modify his own moves to adjust to new conditions.
Appearance: Being an average height (1'00" | 30.48 cm) but weighing at 23.2 lbs | 10.5 kg (which is 8.9 lbs | 2.2 kg more than average), this Eevee is not only fluffy but rather buff for his species. He also has a lot more fur around his collar, and his tail is a little longer. Being a more battle-hardened Pokemon, he has scars on his body, concealed by his fur. He bruises and cuts more easily than those of his species, physical attacks against him wearing him out more than usual.
Nature/Personality: Lonely | Fluffy is naturally a brooding kind of Pokemon, a little depressed and usually sulks alone. However, while he like being away from annoying people and Pokemon, he can’t stay away for long and will usually find himself being cuddled by one of Nakano’s Pokemon or Nakano herself. Which isn’t all that bad. Other than that, he likes to run, usually running away from people or Pokemon he’d rather not deal with. When he’s not trying to run from anyone though, he commonly gets into fights, thrashing about and loving the thrill of battle. Despite the emotions he struggles feeling and having a love/hate relationship with friendship and affection, starting or participating in fights is the one thing he loves most, and he occasionally uses violent methods first before anything else. However, due to this, he can resort to violence or hitting something when he feels upset or struggling to handle his emotions.
History: Fluffy is built stronger, yet frailer than most Eevee. He is emotionally immature than most of the other Eevee and he doesn't know how to properly conduct himself. When Nakano's class had arrived for some Pokemon collecting and having lessons outside, Nakano had found the Eevee. Thinking him fluffy, she tried to approach and hug him, only for Fluffy to attack and flee. Hurt, Nakano chased after the Pokemon, only to fall and sprain her ankle. Her crying and being isolated from her class had the Eevee think differently. Being a major tsundere, the Eevee decided to give Nakano a berry as a sort of truce but not really wanting to. As soon as he was close enough, Nakano got him in a hug. He struggled and fought, only to feel warm and fuzzy from the hug. Pouting, the Eevee decided to come along with the limping Nakano, only to be caught shortly after. For a while, Eevee was difficult with Naka, not following orders and running away every chance he got. However, as they traveled with each other and learned more about each other, Eevee realized he was being rather unfair with Nakano. Wanting to make amends, he wanted to be her steadfast protector instead. If he were to choose to evolve, he'd choose Flareon, as fire always reminded him of power and that's what he needs to protect Naka.
Moves: Due to Nakano being a bit creative, I will only be sharing the effects the moves do and where they learned them from.
1. Helping Hand - Normal - Physical - Learned naturally; with increased priority, he shares energy with a nearby ally to double the damage their attack deals.
2. Quick Attack - Normal - Physical - Learned naturally; is a quick attack with increased priority (not as much as Helping Hand though).
3. Return - Normal - Physical - Learned via tutor from brother's Lopunny; using the power of friendship with his trainer, Fluffy attacks. If he holds resentment for his trainer or he's in a bad mood towards his trainer, this deals less damage.
4. Retaliate - Normal - Physical - Learned via tutor from brother's Glameow; if an ally was knocked out in a previous post, this attack deals double damage.
5. Protect - Normal - Status - Learned via tutor from brother's Lopunny; generates a protective dome around himself. It's technically slightly big enough to cover a crouched human or a medium-sized Pokemon. Each successive consecutive use makes this move less likely to work.
6. Bite - Dark - Physical - Learned naturally; fluffy bites with darkness covered teeth and it has ~1/3 chance to flinch.
7. Iron Tail - Steel - Physical - Learned via tutor from brother's Glameow; Fluffy's tail is coated with metallic energy and it has ~1/3 chance to lower the target's Defense.

However, she grew to dislike her small-scale fame (while also fearing the public eye in mass amount), choosing to marry herself to her work once she became a researcher at the age of sixteen for Professor Rowan - or at least get there by working as an intern. Her constant workaholic nature has caused her depression and anxiety to form (along with her perfectionistic nature) from her teenage years, but it has not become unmanageable due to there not being a harsh enough stimulus to affect her performance poorly.
As her Pokemon evolved and grew (except her Pichu refused to evolve), she took the gym challenge in Sinnoh, and then again in Hoenn. She realized she sucked at practical knowledge in Pokemon battles, so she found a friend in someone who journeyed with her. With their help, she managed to get all eight gym badges in Sinnoh, and then the next eight in Hoenn. However, she didn't join either of the leagues. The spotlight terrified her and she'd much prefer working in the background. At the age of twenty, she settled to working in Sinnoh with her coworkers, making a living for herself as she became an adult.

Emma has the same regional mix as Nakano.Name: Nakano Saito

Looks good, accepted o7Tangela and Tangrowth - Noodle Coat Variant
An uncommon strain or breed of Tangela has appeared in certain greenhouses in the Kanto region. Thought to be first caused by some form of mutation, or perhaps a strange incident of cross-pollination, the Noodle Coat Variant (henceforth referred to as NCV) may appear no different than any other Tangela or Tangrowth you've encountered; however, during the late fall, the color of their vines begins to fade from healthy green into a pale yellow shade littered with tiny red leaves. The leaves fall early in winter, and over the course of the colder months the yellowed vines harden and become more brittle, practically becoming wooden branches instead of vines. While these are tougher and harder than normal Tangela or Tangrowth's vines, they're also slightly less flexible and springy. During early spring these branches are quickly obscured by a layer of fresh green, shoots of new vines creeping from beneath the outer layer and forming a fresh coat, while some of the old branches snap off and drop. More branches have been noted to drop from Tangrowth than from Tangela. This is not due to the size difference, as the discrepancy takes into account the ratios of vines dropped to size, and not simply the total volume of branches dropped.
Outside of this change in appearance which seems to follow the seasonal cycle of many non-sentient plants, it was at first thought that this variant showed no major differences from other Tangela; in other words, it was believed that the variant was purely cosmetic, and could simply be a breed fancied by collectors or studied by professors and Grass-Type specialists. Initial tests revealed no additional typings, nor any noticeable skill differences between regular varieties of Tangela and the NCV. They performed similarly on tests during the Summer, Fall, and Winter versions of each set of trials; the seasonal changes to the NCV showed no significant differences from other test results.
However, two notable differences have become apparent with recent tests. Initial tests to determine if any additional typings were present revealed an odd pattern; some individuals showed abnormal resistance to Fire and Water type damage, but others did not. At the time, an additional typing proved an inconclusive theory, and was heavily debated at times. Later, it was shown during a test on a bright summer day that more than half of the non-variant Tangela performed tasks much more quickly than NCV Tangela. This suggested that none of the NCV Tangela involved in the tests had the Chlorophyll ability. Further testing slowly yielded results, first showing the Hydration ability present in some individuals, and later revealing an entirely new ability present in others. Dubbed 'Pasta Veil', this ability is shown to reduce the damage taken from Fire and Water type damage while making the user more vulnerable to biting moves (see 'Strong Jaw' for a list of these moves). Similarly to other 'Veil' abilities, this ability seems to affect nearby allies as well. Testing to fully understand this variant and develop their potential is still underway.
- Extracted from the notes of Professor Tobias Sago, a researcher on Regional Variants from the Metztli region, in a report on the potential causes behind the Noodle Coat Tangela's appearance.

Looking good, accepted o7Name: Sorrel
Gender: Male
Age: 10
Trainer Class: Trainer
Physical Appearance:
Sorrel is a thin child, about average height for his age but with very little meat on his bones. He has brownish eyes with tints of other colors faintly dappling across the more muted background if one looks close enough. His hair is currently a medium blonde color, but has been darkening as he ages and could easily continue to do so. His pale skin burns rather easily, so he often applies sunscreen in order to avoid his otherwise practically unblemished skin from being left red and irritated by the burning light of the day star.
Clothing:
Sorrel usually wears tee shirts, and shorts. After all, they’re comfy and easy to wear! Some of his favorite shirts include a black tee with a depiction of the Eon Duo flying alongside jet planes with the words ‘Jet Set Go!’, a pale blue tee with a picture of Spear Pillar on the front, a grey one with a piece of bowtie pasta at the neck and the words ‘Pasta la vista’ written on the back, and a red one with the silhouette of a Noivern on the front.
Besides these, he has a couple in plain colors for more general use during his journey. These are kept bundled up tightly in his bag so he can change as needed, and he makes sure to wash them when he gets the chance. The life of a trainer is filled with the dust of the road and the grit of many battles, after all. He also has a pair of plain grey and orange tennis shoes, plus a pair of similarly colored gloves gifted to him by his parents.
Personality:
Sorrel is generally good-natured, curious, and eager to share the things he finds interesting or exciting. He’s fairly resilient, able to bounce back from disappointment or discouragement without too much issue, but being told off by someone he trusts can leave a more lasting impression on him. He has had a passion for Pokemon since a young age, watching them whenever he could in any capacity, whether it be in battle, feeding in the wild, or even just sleeping or walking. As such, he has quite an eye for detail when it comes to Pokemon, although he sometimes struggles with his perceptive skills when it comes to humans. He’s less likely to take note of a person’s presence than a Pokemon (from his perspective the one is common and can be seen all the time, and the latter is far more interesting and likely to be something interesting), and he’s not as good at reading human emotions or intentions as he could be. Despite this, he will do his best to help his friends cheer up if he notices they’re upset or feeling down.
Backstory:
Sorrel’s childhood was relatively standard. He went to school, watched battles on TV, read a lot, and played with the neighbor kids whenever his parents decided he needed fresh air and time away from his books. Sometimes, though, he’d opt to skip getting his friends, and wander around looking for Pokemon. It was always a thrill to find something other than a plain old Pidgey or Caterpie and just… watch it do its thing. He didn’t need to interrupt its life, he just wanted to see what that life was like.
Like many children, he knew from a young age that he wanted to become a Pokemon Trainer when he was old enough. Of course, he knew he couldn’t set out on his own until he was 10. Fortunately, though, his mother was of the opinion that young trainers should have time to bond with their partner Pokemon before setting out on their journeys together, and after some convincing, he was able to persuade his mother to get him a Pokemon during a visit to a local greenhouse. They were there because his mother wanted to purchase some plants for a window garden, but while there Sorrel ran into a Tangela who was wandering around the shop. The boy instantly took a liking to the Vine Pokemon, and soon the two were riding home together in the back of the car. Sorrel decided to name him Boots, due to the red shoe-like feet protruding from the bottom of the tangle.
Much to both his and his parents’ surprise, that fall Boots began to show odd traits that none of them had expected. Sorrel had researched Tangela as soon as he got the chance to go to the library after getting Boots, and nothing in his research had prepared him for the change in the color of Boots’ vines. They brought him to the Pokemon Center for a checkup, and fortunately learned that there didn’t seem to be anything wrong with his health; apparently, it was merely a seasonal morph, an odd occurrence for Tangela but not unheard of. Sorrel’s mother surmised that Boots had been one of the decorative varieties raised at the greenhouse, and that he’d simply been mixed up with the other Tangela since he looked the same as others during the summer. Her guess wasn’t far off, although she hadn’t guessed that Boots’ variety wasn’t supposed to be sold at that time, and that it had been pure luck that Sorrel ever met him.
Starter: Boots
Pokémon:
Name: Boots
Species: Tangela (Noodle Coat Variant)
Gender: Male
Ability: Pasta Veil (Reduces damage from Fire and Water type moves to this Pokémon and its allies, but makes them weaker to all 'biting' moves.)
Moves:
Appearance:
- Absorb
- Bind
- Stun Spore
- Leech Seed
- Constrict
- Ingrain
- Vine Whip
- Sleep Powder
Boots is an odd variety of Tangela. For most of the year, he appears similar to other Tangrowth. But in late fall, his body fades in color until the vines are yellow, and small red leaves become visible scattered all over them. This gives him an appearance almost like a pile of spaghetti noodles with flakes of herbs scattered on. As winter begins, the red leaves are dropped, and the color fades to a dull brown as the vines become stiffer and somewhat more brittle. By early spring, new light green shoots begin to poke out from the brown tangle, and eventually they take over and some of the old branches are dropped. In summer he caries a warm herbal smell, which grows stronger as the season goes on but drops off after fall begins.
Personality:
Boots is naturally rather quiet, but when alone or with those he likes the company of, he can often be heard making sounds that are between a hum, the creaking of trees, and the whistling of leaves in the wind. He doesn’t like being touched without warning, and generally defends himself as if from a predator. Overall he’s quite amiable, though, and is very protective of his trainer. When walking with Sorrel or someone else he trusts, he will wrap a few of his vines around their lower arm and hand.
While he isn’t entirely averse to mobile battle strategies, Boots much prefers to sit still and attack at range, whether with his vines or with special attacks, and will often slow his opponents down with Sleep Powder once he can restrain them with his grappling attacks.
Backstory:
Boots was born in a greenhouse. He was part of a breeding program for rare Grass Type varieties, where some species were available for sale to the public, and others kept by the scientists for their research. Boots was born in spring, and spent his first half-year in the lab so the scientists could see if he was a Variant Tangela, or a normal individual. Once it was confirmed that Boots was a variant specimen, he was submitted to several tests and procedures, which was quite confusing for the young Tangela.
After a year of initial tests, in which variant Tangela were submitted to various conditions (both nutritional and environmental) and compared to one another, and to normal Tangela specimens. Boots was placed in warmer temperatures, with food geared towards plant Pokémon rather than general Poke-kibble.
Although Boots was treated well, he didn’t want to spend his whole life in the greenhouse. So after year one of testing was over, he decided to explore and see if there was a way out. He followed one of the more careless researchers out the greenhouse door one day, and wandered for a while. He met other species in the other sections of the greenhouse, and had a splendid time. But eventually, he stumbled into a room that was odd in comparison to the rest: there was less natural light, and it had lots of plants, Pokemon, and people in it. Some of the people were wearing clothes quite different to what most of the scientists and gardeners wore.
To his surprise, one of these people ran up to him. The human was only a little taller than he was, and was wearing a simple dark red shirt and blue pants. The little boy said something excitedly, but it was too quick for Boots to understand properly. But before he knew it the child was wrapping its arms around him, leaving Boots blinking in surprise. Slowly, he stretched out a few of his vines and wrapped them around the child’s back, mimicking the gesture. The two embraced for a few moments, and Boots found them... comforting, somehow. Before long, though, a taller human female approached them and began talking to the child.
“Hey, Sorrel. Did you find a friend?”
“Yeah, mom! It’s a Tangela! It’s so cool, and it let me give it a hug, and it hugged me back! I think it likes me! Can we bring it home, mom? Please? Please?!”
“I don’t know sweetie, are you sure? You just met the Pokémon, after all.”
“I’m sure mom! Please!”
“Well... if you’re sure. Just know that you might want to take more time thinking about this. After all, you don’t know how to care for a Tangela yet. Some plant Pokémon can be difficult to keep healthy. Tangela are normally fairly resilient from what I hear, but there may be certain things you have to do to make sure it’s happy. Are you sure you want to choose Tangela before you know more about it?”
There was a moment of silence as the child pondered the issue. He glanced into Boot’s eyes, and although Boots was highly confused by the ongoing conversation, he could see kindness and hope in those eyes.
As Boots was thinking this, the boy seemed to make up his mind.
“Yeah. I’ll take care of Tangela, and it will be a great partner. I know it! Please, mom?”
“... okay, sweetie. If you’re sure. I suppose Tangela aren’t too expensive, anyways, so as long as you promise to take care of-“
“I promise I will! I promise!”
“Well, then. Let’s go check out then, shall we? If it’s okay with you, that is, Tangela?”
Both woman and boy turned to look at Boots, who suddenly felt shy. He blinked at the two for a moment, but decided that they seemed nice, and that he wouldn’t mind going with them to ‘check out’, as they called it. He wrapped a vine around each of their hands, as he had been taught to do by one of the researchers when he wanted to follow them around. (It let a researcher know that the Tangela was keeping up alright and not straying too far, and was taught to most of them.)
The humans took this motion as a sign of willingness, and the three approached a tall desk, behind which was seated a teenaged girl leaning back in her chair and reading a book. Boots watched as the older woman began an exchange, pulling out some kind of card from a bag at her side and passing it to the girl behind the counter. The exchange concluded quickly, with the girl not even sparing a glance at the Tangela being purchased and instead going right back to her reading. Thus, Boots left the greenhouse and went to his new home with Sorrel and his family.
(Tangela and Tangrowth - Noodle Coat Variant

Name: Pythia
Species: Charmander
Gender: Female
Ability: Blaze
Moves:
Appearance:
- Scratch
- Ember
- Growl
- Counter
- Beat Up
Fairly standard for a Charmander, although she has a few missing scales along the top of her left hind leg.
Personality:
Pythia is stubborn, passionate, and easily angered. She’s a fighter at heart, and to her the greatest thing in the world is a good brawl. She enjoys spicy foods, training, and a good long power nap. She has a distaste for more bland foods, evasive/range tactics on the part of her opponent, and has a strong hatred mixed with fear for the Pidgey evolutionary line.
Backstory:
Pythia was one of the Starter Pokemon that Professor Oak kept for new and aspiring trainers. Since even before the rise of Red, the professor had gifted Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle to lucky young trainers, but ever since the renowned Silent Legend it had become a tradition for those seeking to follow the footsteps of that great trainer to receive a member of this iconic trio as their partner. Pythia had been presented to several trainers since her birth, but many of them had passed her over in favor of a Bulbasaur or Squirtle, whether through personal taste or with the knowledge that either of the others served as an amazing kick-start for the Pewter and Cerulean City gyms, a fact especially useful for those who chose to circle back to Blue at the Viridian Gym later in their journey.
Finally, though, a day came when someone chose her. She was excited to finally go with a trainer, and unleash all her passion and energy in a good solid battle. Before long, she was released from her Pokeball onto a battlefield, staring down an opposing Pidgey. She wanted to cry out with delight at her first chance for a real good brawl, and before her trainer even called for a move she began to rush forward, sure he’d call for a good solid hit to that dumb bird’s chest. Even as her trainer yelled at her in confusion, ordering her to wait for his call, she continued to run. But before she got more than halfway across the battlefield, her opponent took to the skies and, at its trainer’s command, send a heavy Gust of wind slamming into Pythia from out of range.
Finally stopped in her charge by the impact of the attack, she caught her trainer’s voice calling for her to hit it in the air with Ember. Seeing the logic in this approach, she reared back on one leg, and as it came back down to stomp the ground she hurled a small bundle of char and flame towards her airborne foe. Unfortunately, the bird dodged nimbly out of the way, then swooped down low and began beating its wings wildly near Pythia’s face when its trainer ordered it to use a Sand Attack. Hissing and spitting, Pythia tried to get the sand out of her eyes, and lashed out through the blur with her tail to hit that pesky bird. But it was long gone, and she was swiftly battered by another Gust from the Pidgey’s wings. Her trainer called for more Embers to retaliate, but with irritating sand still making her eyes water and forcing her to blink often, her volley of attacks continued to fly wide of their target. She heard another command from one of the trainers (she wasn’t sure which), and the next thing she knew, she was waking up with a pink-haired woman and a lighter pink Pokemon looking at her with a mix of concern, relief, and sadness.
She had been healed after the fight, but she had suffered a resounding defeat. Even more crushing, though, was her return to Professor Oak’s lab. After their stop at the Pokemon Center, her new trainer had gone straight back to Pallet to give her back to the professor. Unfortunately, the good Samuel Oak had released her from her Pokeball in time to hear some of the young trainer’s scathing words about her performance. “-useless, couldn’t even hit an Ember when it was a few feet away from her! I don’t want to deal with a failure who can’t aim.”
The trainer stormed out before Professor Oak could stop him, and Pythia was left alone again. Yes, the professor was kind to her, and tried to tell her that it wasn’t her fault that her first battle had gone poorly. He offered to give her some targets to practice on, and after a few days, once she was feeling a bit better, she decided to use them. Professor Oak watched through a window as the little Charmander battered the targets with blows that were truly fierce for her small frame, but in all the time he watched, she never once tried to use Ember. At one point, he even stepped outside and suggested she try it, and that he would try to give her some pointers if he could. She had refused, however, tackling the target with even more intensity than before. At the end of the day it was shredded into tiny slivers, but the tiny lizard had never once used Ember.
Oak couldn’t help feeling a bit bad for the poor Charmander. She’d clearly been hurt by that trainer, and he couldn’t help but blame himself a little for allowing her to be put in that situation to begin with. Hopefully, though, she would one day find a trainer who would be able to help her through her situation and be kind to her. And perhaps his wish will soon be fulfilled…
I'd like to do a little more with this bio when I have time, but I need to get it posted sooner rather than later, so here ya go!
Yerp, we’re still running and we do allow custom regions as long as you can provide information on that region, feel free to show your character sheet and we’ll see what we can doUmm... Hey! Is this thing still alive? And if so... Is there a possibility of me joining? I have an OC I usually use for this sort of thing, but he comes from a region of my own creation. However, it somewhat conflicts with the rule on fan regions, since it's almost entirely in my head. I have the concept and where it's based, but aside from that... Not much else. No map, not much of an idea on what pokemon are native, and... Yeah. It's not likely that I'll be developing my Stahlblatt without help, so it's possible that if I'm allowed to bring him in, I'll have him from Galar, possibly. Unless I'm allowed to just simply mention the region-
Edit: I remember a few people here back when I was active on the site a year and a half ago, so it's nice to see they're still around. I only hope they remember me.
Sure, I have no problems with that, and as much information as possible. Can I get the first two stages accepted first before submitting the evolutions? And how much info do you need on the region?
Looks good! Careful around Ultra Wormholes since they tend to come paired with Ultra Beasts which require mod permission; however, other than that, you're good to go. Welcome to the RP!Alright, here's a character sheet that's lenghty enough to be actually considered something decent.
Name: His name seems to be along the lines of Adolphian Richter, or at least he claims it to be.
Gender: That's very clear, as he both considers himself a male and his physical appearance seems to match. His personality also seems more masculine.
Age: He won't tell anyone his real age, but he seems to be a young adult, possibly in his late 20s. In reality, despite being an administrator for NanoCorp Industries, he's only around 22.
Trainer Class (What goal do you have in mind for your character? Contests/Battler/Breeder/etc.): Researcher and part-time battler.
Physical Appearance: Physically, he didn't seem too remarkable. With his outfit choice, not much is seen of his skin. However, his skin tone is pale, but somehow managed to retain a mild tan even in the depths of winter. His eyes were a strange colour of purplish blue, whether or not it's natural is unknown, though he claimed it was. His hair is a dark brown with streaks of black and lighter brown, and cut short. His stature is refined, the 6'1" male standing straight, and seeming as if he was always watching his surroundings. Finally, he seemed to have some unknown cybernetics, including what seems to be a strange core on his chest, a similar glowing cybernetic plate on his forehead in the shape 20-sided star, and a few neural cybernetics, though they weren't visible. It's possible that he was brought to a near-death state and had to be saved through cybernetics, much like a less severe robocop.
Clothing: For clothing, Adolphian wore some rather interesting get-up. He seemed to have what seemed to be a thick black labcoat with armour plating inside, as well as similar black trousers and a pair of black boots with an almost metallic sheen. He also had what seemed to be a sophisticated large bookbag-like storage medium, with more space on the inside than appeared on the outside. He wore what seemed to be an advanced visor covering his eyes, with a small glowing strip on either side. Underneath his coat, he had what seemed to be a blue jumpsuit with glowing white bands, but he would have needed a lot of trust to take off his armoured black labcoat. He also had what seemed to be a high-tech stun gun in an internal pocket of his coat, in case he was unable to use his pokemon and had to defend himself. Finally, his pokemon weren't seen outwardly, but were rather protected inside his coat through a different internal pocket.
Personality: While it may have been obvious due to his dark clothing, he kept to himself and didn't allow much emotion to show through, if any at all. When speaking to people he didn't know or trust, he had a relatively quiet tone of voice with a clear intellectual tone to him. However, he was also rather protective of his pokemon and those he trusted, refusing to let them lose him. If one was perceptive enough or grew to know him, it would become clear the reason for his attitude towards most people was because he seemed to gone through a lot of pain in the past, and uses a sort of emotionless visage as a protective shell. Once one gained his trust enough to get past the shell, however, he seemed rather passionate with research and pokemon, and clearly cared greatly for the pokemon with him. He would also often speak of a woman named Evilane, but give no further information. Perhaps all it needed was someone to get to know him well enough?
Backstory: For Adolphian, he seemed to be a mystery. He was not on any records and seemed to have shown up out of nowhere. This was, of course, actually true, for Adolphian comes from what he presumed to be an alternate universe. Previously, he worked for a company called NanoCorp Industries, taking his father's former seat as the administrator for the cybernetics and biotechnology divisions after working for them since his teens. He was passionate about his work, and despite multiple accidents leading to both his more outwardly emotionless visage and multiple experimental cybernetics, he grew to call the company a second family. He came from a region called Stahlblatt, which didn't seem to exist in the current world(Or perhaps existed and ended up becoming a fallen civilization) Stahlblatt seemed to be a region based in real world Germany, as indicated by his notable German accent. As for why he had a Dutch accent on top of it, it was likely due to his mother being from the Pokemon equivilant of Denmark. Stahlblatt was a rather technologically advanced region, being a marvel to the modern world. They were rich in culture, pokemon of many species, and even valued a balance between advancement and nature, making sure to keep much of the natural world intact despite their advancements. As for Adolphian... Around a week ago in terms of roleplay, he participated in what could have been a scientific breakthrough. Development by the R&D division lead to a machine that they claimed to be capable of producing artificial ultra wormholes. He was asked to test it, and while the first test was successful, him ending up in a whole new world... The machine ended up becoming unstable and any attempt to communicate with the young scientist was unsuccessful. They considered opening the wormhole with the same conditions as before to reach him, but the machine became damaged and repairs had to be made. And that is where Adolphian lays. Stranded in an unknown universe, with boundless potential!
Pokemon Team: Adolphian's team seemed well trained and strong, though he hated using battling to solve an issue. He believed that while battling could be good for his Pokemon and even enjoyable, he would never use it as an attempt to solve a dispute, only having it as a last resort while first starting with diplomacy and finding a way without violence. His entire team were ones he rescued and helped recover, the 4 that stand with him being those who decided it was better to stay with him than anyone else. His team consists of the following:
Blitzkriegler(German for 'Lightning Warrior'): Blitz is a Luxray with somewhat odd colouring, with a few stylized red lightning bolts through her fur(very possibly with dye). Otherwise, she seemed to be a typical Luxray on the outside. Her demanior was extremely protective towards her trainer and anyone he's with, even more than he was to his Pokemon. However, once one proved to be 'worthy' of trust, she'd open up like her trainer and become rather affectionate. Perhaps her personality mirrored that of her trainer somewhat because she was his first Pokemon, being a small and abused Shinx he rescued and nursed back to health. Ability: Rivalry(as to be expected, as she can get somewhat jealous)
Vuurbin(From the Dutch phrase: Het vuur van binnenuit, translated to 'The fire from within'): Vurrbin is a Ninetales, and while her outward apperance seemed normal, one would immediately notice she seemed to have a cybernetic crest on her head between her ears. Aside from the cybernetics, she was rather sweet and caring to those she met, and unless given a reason to dislike them, acted as motivation for Adolphian to be more social. Her fire abilities were average, however, her more mystical psychic abilities were unusually strong for her kind. She was found after a secret hidden(illegal) research facility ended up going bankrupt, having to abandon their projects. Vuurbin was one of those projects, but the cybernetics came later during a terrible attack. While Adolphian didn't entirely know what made her special or what the illegal research did to her, when she started showcasing a higher psychic prowess and even the ability for telepathy, he knew she was something special. Ability: Flash Fire.
Verdant: Verdant is a Leafeon who has notable cybernetics. She has her entire right hindleg replaced with a robotic one, a cybernetic eyepiece covering her left eye, and what seems to be a cybernetic crystal in her neck. However, despite the fact she's partially robotic, she seems energetic and enjoys helping people, especially her trainer. Due to her cybernetics, she's capable of human speech(I really hope that's okay. If Meowth can speak in the Anime, why can't a Leafeon who had cybernetics?) Verdant was originally the Pokemon of a close friend who left the region, and gave her to his care. They knew she would be better off with him, as they didn't have the time to look after her anymore. However, during a freak accident, a greenhouse building essentially collapsed on her and the few workers in it. Fortunately, there was only one death, but if it wasn't for some emergency cybernetics, she would have joined them. Ability: Chlorophyll.
Stalogel(From Stalen vogel, meaning steel bird in Dutch): Stalogel may seem intimidating at first, and is relatively fierce towards anything as a threat to Adolphian. However, unlike the other three of his Pokemon, he was not a rescue. Instead, he was a gift from a close friend named Evilane, a woman around the same age as him and acting as a close emotional support. Stal was a Staraptor with sophisticated armour, meant to protect his trainer to the best of his abilities. While the armour made him somewhat slower than others of his kind, it was somewhat cosmetic. However, it did give a level of protection, while also making fire deal a bit more damage. Ability: Intimidate, of course.
(I really hope this is okay. If not, I can modify it based on any issues you have with it.)
