The Youthful Sage

Eitri readied her magical defenses to block Sateramon's attack... only for Happy Lover to suddenly interpose itself between Eitri and the laser. The young sage watched in surprise as Happy Lover blocked the attack in it's entrity... and exploded into a million fine pieces. The creature had sacrificed itself? No, Belowski had commanded it to sacrifice itself. It seemed her and Belowski were more alike than she had first thought.

Sateramon turned its attention to Belowski, and Eitri went into action. Hoping on Grim Brokkr, the weapon darted with great speed back towards Belowski. With great ability Eitri manuevered around Sateramon's laser blast. As she flew past the rabbit hole, Eitri once again gestured down to Belowski. The magic of the Pair Up ability pulled Belowski out of the hole just as the laser struck the tunnel, collapsing where he had been standing moments before. Belowski now found himself in a swirl of magic, levitating off the ground and being pulled along by Eitri as she flew through the air.
"Stay close, Belowksi. You may live longer." Eitri said to the duelist.

The sudden sense of exhaustion hit Eitri like a charging Steam Lance. The girl couldn't help but to slump forward slightly on her weapon. She felt... tired. The Mokey Mokey. Now there were two of them. Perhaps a Pair Up with Belowksi wasn't the greatest idea. Grim Brokkr fired another attack at Sateramon, the purple magic lightning blasting towards the Digimon as Eitri and Belowski flew into the treeline.

Sateramon & Belowski

Belowski paired up, yoinked into the air upside down as his blue coat dangled down with his hair. He saw the cave collapse while upside down, his half opened eyes widening just a smidge.

"Dude..." he ooed, looking down from his perspective to Eitri. "That save was righteous!"

Sateramon's navcom eyes blurred, his systems flickering. He rubbed his eyes to fight the drowsiness that started to come up as he assumed the pair he was fighting would have to deal with his most recent attack for a few moments. But to his surprise, Eitri had already prepared a counter attack, firing her signature weapon once more. It struck him and his gun head on, knocking him out of the air and impacting somewhere nearby.

"...Huh. Nice shot dude. You think he's out cold?"

"Mokey?" The two useless angels questioned, flying to sync up with the pair.

.
..
...

"A respectable blow. You are not an easy mark, are you?"

An energy discharge was heard, before suddenly, an eruption of cyan energy came up from underground, shooting directly up in a pillar. It was a flank!

The Youthful Sage

Eitri slowed to a stop as she saw her attack strike Sateramon and knock him out of the air. Hovering off the ground, she kept a sharp eye on the brush around them. Something that was rather difficult to do when her eyelids felt like they were made of lead. A similar effect to before, although now it was more powerful.
"Perhaps. But I couldn't quite see the hit, and this Sateramon does not seem the type to go down so quickly." Eitri said.

There was a discharge of the energy weapon Sateramon used, and Eitri reflexively put up her magical barriers. The attack burst from the ground, but the Mokey Mokey's soothing aura slowed the sage's reflexes and dulled her senses. The magical barriers protected Eitri and Belowski from the main brunt of Sateramon's attack, but the blast sent Eitri flying back. She slammed into a tree with a painful crack, and couldn't stop the cry of pain from leaving her lips as she slid to the ground.

An attack from underground, directly where they were. Was Sateramon able to attack them precisely without seeing their location? Where was Belowski? Eitri pushed herself back to her feet, trying to regain her breath. Barracuda of the deep web... Even with the oppressive aura of the Mokey Mokey, Eitri could feel her blood begin to pump with excitement. Yes, an event like this had been far too long. Eitri had missed this.
"You are not too bad yourself." Eitri called out to Sateramon, a grin on her face. "It is a shame. I find you quite interesting."
Now powered up from Sateramon's attack, Eitri readied Grim Brokkr for whatever technique the Digimon would try next.

"Oh."

Belowski was about to tumble to the ground when his pillow shaped angels cushioned his fall, the boy bouncing twice before resting on them. They were weighed down and were brought to the ground, plopping the boy down as the wobbled back upright.

"Aw Dude, didn't look like she was feeling so good from that hit." Belowski talked to his mokeys. "Ya, I know she can handle it n' stuff, but ditching her is just not cool. Let's go find her mokeys."

"Mokey!"

.
..
...

On the ground, the Digimon had a single eye open, looking at the alloy on the left side of his chest having been blasted. A red pair of '0's and 1's' escaped his wound, indicating his damage. Nothing critical. But it was data loss. His eye open had an advanced GPS system, searching and getting a clear view of Eitri, hearing her words. He couldn't help but smile.

"Heh, so you are a gunman as well. What do they call you?"

During this period, he summoned his second gun. Inspecting the damage on it, the self repair subroutines hasn't repaired enough for it to be usable yet. However, the second function? He took both of the guns, placing them side by side, as a cyan line crossed both of their sides, linking them together into a single gun.

"I would like to know the name of a respectable foe before one of us can no longer speak."

A Humble Sage

At the sound of Sateramon's voice, Eitri quickly turned that direction.

There.

"You may call me Eitri." The girl said. A breeze whipped around Eitri as the sage began to levitate, and Eitri's weapon hummed as it charged up a powerful attack. "Just a humble sage."
Grim Brokkr fired in the direction of Sateramon's voice. But unlike the earlier attacks of beams of purple lightning, this one was different. The blast was far wider than before, and almost seemed to resemble a Dragon, maw open and roaring, lunging in the direction of the voice. The cyan energy absorbed from Sateramon's latest attack swirled around the purple lightning blast!

Fire Emblem Special Attack: Dragon Fang!

Right after Grim Brokkr fired, Eitri jetted into the sky above the treeline.

Bugs Bunny
Bugs tunneled away, creating a complicated system around to catch Sateramon off guard-
BOOM!
Bugs felt another explosion not too far away, ruining part of his system. Annoying, but he also heard a thump of someone landing on the floor close by, and began tunneling there. Bugs made a small hole to peek out of, and caught the sight of Sateramon aiming two guns, presumably at Eitri and Belowski.
Now was a chance for some looney stuff.
From the outside, it was a strange sight. From beside Sateramon, a gloved arm would carefully and silently reach out beyond what would be logical...and then slap a cork into one of Sateramon's guns, flashing a thumbs-up as it slithered back into the ground.

"Eitri? Well then, Eitri. Let's see if you can escape my sights...Nai nda na!"

thump

"...?"

A Cork. In one of the gun barrels. It wasn't exactly expected, and delayed his attack right as Eitri fully prepared hers, a furious maw of energy appearing before him! Cursing the odds of this, he went on the defensive, taking flight in the opposite direction. He faced the storm, the winds firing bombardments of multicolored light into the bundle of energy. The peppering of his fire began to whittle away at it's volatility as it caught up to him closer and closer. When it became obvious he wouldn't outrun if, he recalled his wings, dematerialized his gun and held his arms in front of his head as he was swallowed into the attack.

CHOMP!

Energy erupted out from the attack. Although greatly dampened, it still packed a hell of a punch. Sateramon's armored arms, which were used to tank the attack, cracked open and had begun crumbling apart. It even charged his body underneath the arm armor. His body had small, but littered burns littering it, and the front of his coat had been damaged. Miraculously, his hat was unscathed.

It was good that he recalled his guns...the certainly would be left in disrepair after that attack. His eyes sparked back online after flickering off, his GPS kicking back up.

.
..
...

Woosh!

A blur was seen flying straight up out of the dust cloud. That's when, high up in the sky, four multi colored wings extended. The mayfly was still very much kicking, as the owner of the wings called down.

"Not a soul has ever survived this attack. Show me your strength as a gunman! Cosmic Raider!!!"

His gun fusion had reappeared, without a cork this time. They lit in a bright green before-

BLAAAAAAAAAAST

A massive beam was fired from the guns. A mere twinkle in the distance before it would rain down. It was like a thick glassing beam that would scorch the land continuously.

"This won't stop until you are dead!"

.
..
...

Belowski looked up at the green twinkle in the sky, and whispered something to his Mokey Mokeys. That's when he took a card that was placed on the field. Right as he messed with it, he was bathed in a beam of cyan light! He was no longer visible due to the sheer ammount of firepower drenching him.

The Sage of Niðavellir

Eitri continued flying to the sky. Just as she had anticipated, the Dragon Fang had not been enough to destroy Sateramon. The Digimon suddenly rocketed upwards, but Eitri continued to urge herself to the sky.

"Not a soul has ever survived this attack. Show me your strength as a gunman! Cosmic Raider!!!"

In the distance, Eitri could see four wings had extended from the Digimon. Everything seemed to slow down for a moment. There were so many feelings, so many stimuli bombarding her senses. She felt sore and in pain from the attacks she had taken. Grim Brokkr's Gullinbursti was whining, close to overheating and shutting down. Her seiðjárn warning her of another massive energy spike. Eitri could feel the energy on her skin, sense the incoming attack.

It was incredible.

Not for hundreds of years had an opponent pushed Eitri this hard. She hand conducted tests with her weapons and seiðjárn before, but never in the field to this extent. The ideas, the inspirations, the knowledge flowed so freely in the middle of combat.

She owed this warrior a debt of gratitude. So Eitri would respond in the language of the warrior, and hold nothing back.

The massive beam of energy swept towards the sage. Eitri pushed the Gullinbursti within Grim Brokkr to it's limit, with a burst of speed maneuvering around the attack.

Just a moment more...

The glowing barrier of the arena appeared overhead of Eitri, it's rainbow energy pulsing gently. Almost soothing, disgusing it's lethal nature. Eitri aimed Grim Brokkr at Sateramon. The girl smiled madly, throwing her arms wide as she hovered just beneath the dangerous energy wall.
"Sateramon!" Eitri called to the Digimon. "I shall grant your wish! Behold, the strength of Niðavellir!"

Grim Brokkr fired, the purple blast of lightning-like magic flying towards Sateramon. In the same instant, Eitri activated the Divine Recreation.

A loud, metal screeching rang out at the golden hexagonal plates collided with the barrier of the arena. They shook as cracks began to appear in the magic barrier. Instantly, Grim Brokkr's purple beam was empowered by the pure, raw energy of the arena's barrier!

Sateramon

The barrier grew a deep red as soon as it was tampered with. It greatly enhanced the power of Grim Brokkr, unfathomably so. The night of it's beam carved upwards, right as Cosmic Raider swung to collide with it. It pierced right through the heard of the beam, carving through the fire and the flame! A loud piercing sound was heard, echoing throughout several miles as a bright white flash was seen above. The laser had ripped a hole straight through Sateramon's chest. The gunman's eyes flew open, red zero's and one's spilling and dissipating from his massive wound.

"...!"

He let go of his gun, Cosmic raider curving upwards. The beam carved a divide in the land, the glassing beam rushing across many fields of battle. Across a grassy plane where a giant plant and deranged lunatic were battling, to where a robot was fighting a man in a desert. The beam would threaten to kill all those involved if they were unaware.

"...The resourcefulness of gunman...how wonderful." Sateramon coughed, a smile on his face. Tilting his hat, he closed his eyes. "Nai nda na...!"

That's when the western bounty hunter shattered into a million pieces, his gun disappearing in time with his demise.

brrrrrrrrrrrr

The barrier crackled and pulsated, white energy forming around four segments of it. That's when they all flashed at her at once in lightning speeds, four arching bolts of barrier energy. It would zap, fry, and overload. It seemed the barrier was not one to be tampered with on a whim

The Youthful Sage

And with that, the metal gunslinger was stricken from the sky. Despite the roaring of Grim Brokkr and the screeching of the Divine Recreation shield against the arena's barrier, Eitri heard nothing. She watched as the gunslinger seemed to disintegrate, dissolving into dust and fading away.

Why did this moment feel so... nostalgic? The feeling of a hard won battle, against a powerful opponent. It reminded Eitri of times long ago, memories that were dormant for lifetimes.

Thank you, Sateramon...

VvvvvveeeEEEEE!

The roar of Grim Brokkr and the Divine Recreation grew louder as the energy from the barrier continued to pump through them. Grim Brokkr was a powerful weapon, nearly at the level of a divine weapon, but even a divine weapon would not be able to regulate the sheer energy flowing through Grim Brokkr at the moment. The barrier turned red around Eitri, but it would be Eitri's own equipment that failed first.

Grim Brokkr exploded, showering Eitri with shards of burning metal and a shockwave of magical energy. Simultaneously, the golden hexagonal barriers of the Divine Recreation shattered and exploded inward. Eitri was blasted with magical energy and fragments from both sides. Eitri was blasted downward, the world turning to darkness as she plummeted back towards the arena. The last thing she saw before unconsciousness took her were powerful bolts of magical energy clashing where she had been hovering a moment ago...

Bugs Bunny
His tricked worked well, prolonging Sateramon's attack and forcing them to retreat back in the air.
Bugs squeezed his head out of his hole, squinting as he saw a flash from the digimon.
Which was promptly followed by a massive laser, aimed directly over Belowski!
"Hey! Watch o-oooooohhhh! Ouch." Bugs tried to warn the lad, but he was already beamed over. The toon could only watch as the boy seemed to be demolished by the laser...which began changing position.
"Uh-oh." Bugs prepared to move, until the laser of doom suddenly fizzled out. Another explosion sounded off, this time from the air. Bugs looked up to see Sateramon gone, and Eitri plummeting to Earth.
Oh.
"I gotcha kid!" Bugs called, scurrying out of his hole and pulling out an inflatable life raft. He pulled a cord, and it inflated into a soft pad for Eitri to land on.
Of course, Bugs couldn't help but whistle as the Sage flew down, making up for the absence of sound before she slammed into the life raft.
Bugs looked her over. Out cold...or gone.
Welp...only one way to tell.
Bugs looked up at the ever-present counter, waiting for confirmation for his two companions.

King Dedede
CRASH
"Where are ya, ya puff?" Dedede yelled, slamming his hammer into another building. With a few smacks, it toppled over, but yielded nothing but debris and dust.
"I know you're here somewhere Kirbeh! We have to settle-" The King coughed as the dust covered him. Bad idea, and it sparks bad memories.
Dedede looked down at his burnt robe angrily. That Vader guy was no joke, and he had yet to see his rival anywhere. He'd be damned if he lost before he got the chance to face Kirby, as hurt as he was.
"Ugh. Get out here and fight me!" Dedede bellowed, stomping his feet and waving his arms around. He was far too irritated to act maturely.

Kirby
The pink puff looked over Omega's injuries worriedly. He hardly knew who to fix robots, but remembered someone who was good with tech.
It was a shame Dedede wasn't here, Kirby really wished he was.

Dusty McClean

Well. That was it then, Dusty's mind assumed as he saw the heated blade spin his way, as he felt his internals heat up to a frankly frustrating degree. It made Dusty boil in anger down to his very soul, that he would die like this...!

...Who was he kidding? This guy wasn't someone he could beat, at least not in his current position, but maybe it was too late to know what now. Even if he dealt with the blade, that would leave him completely screwed somehow else, he knew that. And without blood to restore his energy, he was in danger-
"Beep!" Dusty had a thought. It...wasn't perfect - Heck, he found it disgusting, but if could get to that kid, Astra, his body was close enough to save him - As morally irrephensible as Dusty found it to eat a child's body. At least he assumed he was a child, anyway.

But first he had to handle the lightsaber issue, and he had just the idea. Just as the blade came close to him, suddenly Sexy McClean burst upwards with a roaring motion, though no roar itself, before pulling his arm back and punching the lightsaber, specifically the hilt, as hard as he could! With the force to send superhuman robots to the air, it wasn't long before the lightsaber looked to shatter at the hilt! And, a few moments later, just to be safe, Dusty dashed out, heading right for Astra's body.

CHIRP CHIRP CHIRRPPPP

The sounds of a woodcutter's saw buzzed as Dusty's vacuum suctioned the body, before the body was suddenly crunched up, exploding into ludicris gibs which Dusty quickly ran over eating up. His eyes appeared to turn pink, as if with joy of some kind, and...he began to self-repair. Nonetheless, his next move was to quickly dash away as fast as possible, determined to escape the pair by heading west.

Masaru Takahara

Masaru stepped back as Omega got up, pondering the question for the moment.

"I dunno," He soon admitted. "But I'm sure someone'll come along. As Leon said, we're doing pretty well on the making friends part, after all." He decided to say.

"Ayy, nice catch."

Behind Bugs came Belowski, who had appeared from the nearby the massive crater caused by the Cosmic Raider beam. His body seemed...completely unscathed. Not a single hair out of place. Leaning forward, the half awake boy laughed groggily.

"Haha...you look a little confused. Well...let's just say I had something to take care of that light show."

A trap card had been revealed on his duel disk, labeled 'Spirit Barrier,' but he figured he would save the explanation for when Eitri was awake to hear it. Walking over to her, he examined her up and down, putting a wrist under his chin.

"Oh. Bummer. Looks like something exploded on her real good. Well, imma see if this can restore balance in her universe. Hold up."

Taking a few moments to fiddle with the cards in his hand and duel disk, he ended up summoning something out of thin air. It looked like an elvish woman with blue skin and long blonde hair, donning an emerald green dress. Standing seven feet tall, the woman had her hands together in prayer.

"This is Gift of the Mystic Elf, it restores life points based on my monsters in play. Since two mokeys are comin' back here shortly, that should be enough of a boost to help her stay kickin'."

The Mystic Elf placed her hands on the injured woman, green energy flowing through her palms. The healing energy was to try and stabilize her critical vitals. The Elf hoped she was in time to save the patient.

Psyduck
The Duck was cursing under his breath as he waddled through the wilderness. Then, a massive beam of death carved through the forest, killing many, many trees. Psyduck watch as it passed him by.

This place is nuts.

Bowser
"HA! Using my head ain't half bad! Let's try it again!"

Bowser disappeared into his shell as Nikolai drank, rapidly spinning inside of a previously made crater. He moved around the edges of the crater, tearing up the earth and throwing it into the air, the speed of the manuever creating a large dust devil to hide him from view very quickly.

Soon, a large boulder made of bricks soared through the air in an arc, aiming at Nikolai.

Petey
Buzzo was successful in foiling each of Petey's attempts at attack, all while dangling from the thing's upper lip. Now understandably peeved, Petey leaned his head down, and attempted to quickly clap his leaves together with Buzzo in the middle, and peel the man off his face.

That's when Petey heard a noise. The roar of a massive beam of energy, which he turned to look at, though it was a little too late to move out of the way.

Omega
The walking arsenal stared at Masaru for a moment.

"THE UNCERTAINTY IS EXCITING! I ACCEPT YOUR 'FRIENDSHIP'."

That's when Omega's sensors picked up an energy spike. It was on the other end of the map, but as he looked, the energy spike spiked again, and the first source began turning his way.

"ATOMIZATION INCOMING."

Thinking quick (as robots do), Omega nabbed Kirby in one large, metal hand, and then activated the thrusters on his back, blasting him forward, where he aimed to collide with the two humans. He wrapped his massive arms around them, carrying them away from the path of destruction. However, right as they reached safety, one of the thrusters combusted with a pop, and Omega lost control.

"THIS IS NOT DESIRABLE."

Omega tripped, and the four soared forward, the bot letting each of his companions go so that crushing them under his own body was less of a likelihood, Kirby being gently tossed to the side, though

The Youthful Sage

Eitri landed on the life raft, not moving. She was in poor shape. A massive gash in her forehead leaked blood. She was peppered with wounds from shrapnel, and had bad burns on her right arm. Her hat had been blown off in the explosion, and was nowhere to be seen. Part of her long hair had burned away. As the Mystic Elf began it's healing spell trap, the wounds slowly began to close and disappear. Eitri's eyes fluttered open.

Everything hurt. As the darkness faded, Eitri found herself staring at the sky. Figures stood around her. The distinct form of Bugs Bunny. The sleepy expression of Belowski. And a new figure, a tall blue-skinned woman with pointed ears. It was her that was the one healing her. Eitri looked to Bugs, then Belowski.
"... If you are going to kill me, now is the time." Eitri said to the competitors.

The Youthful Sage

Eitri frowned. The naivety of youth. The girl shifted uncomfortably, looking up to Belowski.
"Should we fail to find a way to escape, the only way to leave alive may be to win this tournament. And if that is the case, we will have to fight. I am in a weakened state now, if you finish me off it will be another competitor you will not have to worry about later. In addition, my primary weapon has been destroyed and my Divine Recreation has been damaged. Should we get into a fight with another group, I would would not be at my full strength." Eitri stated factually. Her voice was weak, but steadily growing stronger as the Mystical Elf healed her.

VADER

Yet another trick, but this time, the droid seemed to comprehend its position. It aimed to flee, summoning the muscular entity it had before in an attempt to strike at the hilt of the saber. Vader merely increased its rotation by a few degrees, and the entity did nothing more than slam its fist into the energy blade, before it spun about the other way, still closing in on Dusty, who had proceeded to race over toward the deceased child's corpse---and then sucked it up, reducing it into a red spray. Unexpected, certainly. Vader had seen and done far worse, but it still didn't change the fact that this seemingly random act had come out of quite literally nowhere.

It was here that the droid zipped away, fleeing for the burning woods. With the 'vwoom' of the lightsaber, its hilt landed back in the leather-clad palm of the dark lord, and the crimson blade diminished. Vader watched for a few seconds, before he turned his gaze slightly upon Zed. "You were quite useless against such a feeble opponent," he noted, almost threatening, before he paused, mulling it over, and reminding himself why he had sought Zed's aid in the first place. "However, recent events excuses this weakness. The droid sought to destroy us in our diminished state, yet-"

Another boom rumbled through the air, and several dozen meters away, a beam of light passed them by. The number counted down again. Sensing through the force, it didn't take Darth long to determine the cause of this. "Our target has been slain," he informed Zed. "There is another being more powerful than he. We must be prepared."

A sudden hazy blue aura appeared around Zed, and he could immediately begin to feel his wounds seal, and his injuries fade. Force healing was not an ability Vader spent much time using, as he rarely found the time to use it, be it on himself or others, but it was necessary here, more than usual. "This will seal the wounds and ease the pain, but it will not reduce the damage done," Vader told his ally. "It will be enough to restore your power, what little of it this realm permits."

NIKOLAI

His eyes seemed to have been replaced with a bright blue glow, and his muscles seemed to be bulging, as though attempting to break free of his iron skin. The very air around him seemed to hum with energy, and Bowser didn't seem to recognize the threat this form posed. Unsurprising, given his general defenses, but this was a degree of power Nikolai had only ever used once before in his life, and that had been in the toughest battle he'd ever fought. A dark creature's lair, filled with ancient beasts, all with the intent to slaughter and maim. Admittedly, he'd barely made it out alive, and had to take three swigs---the maximum amount his body could handle and activating the full potential of his SOUL.

The boulder of bricks was hurled, but at the zenith of it's arc, one second, Nikolai stood in it's path, and the next---he appeared atop the boulder, crouched, before he kicked out his legs. The massive projectile let out an ear-splitting crack as it broke the sound barrier with ease, slamming right onto the center of Bowser's dust devil in less than a second. The impact was tremendous, akin to that of a meteorite, and the earth shook as a shockwave bounded out, something the entire arena would hear, the concussive sound wave shattering glass for miles in any direction, and potentially bursting ear drums.

The crater that formed from this impact had caught Buzzo and Petey as well, their fight still relatively close, and caught within the most dangerous part of the shockwave, while Bowser had been near smack-dab in the center.

"Ty uzhe mertv," the spirit spoke, approaching the koopa king, brushing some dust from his shoulders as he neared, seemingly unhindered by the dust in the air, likely indicating a supernatural or magical sensory.

LEON

When the robot had grabbed him, Leon had half a mind to ram his blade into any part of it he could find, believing he'd been deceived---before he realized the truth of the matter.

Upon being tossed aside as the robot malfunctioned, Leon twisted in the air like a cat, and landed on his feet, tucking into a smooth roll before coming to a stop.

"That beam of light, what the hell . . . ?" he asked aloud. Whatever had cast that had to have been something threatening. It was either attacking them, or it had been a stray attack from another battle. Perhaps it, or its opponent, could prove to be an additional ally. Leon understood what this place was, in a basic sense. He knew that somehow, he'd be forced to fight those he might call his friends, but he felt it better to prolong that and maybe find another solution before anything comes to that.

Belowski

He chuckled at her words. In fact, his chuckling turned into a laughing fit. The obelisk blue held his belly before wiping a line tear from his eye as his laughter had begun to calm down.

"Hahaha...ohh...I ain't interested in what game the man wants us to play." Belowski sighed with a smile. "We can just have a nice vacation here, just stay here forever if we want. And maybe if you wanted to, could experiment on that barrier or whatever it is you like doin'. Just without any worry about some guy comin' and startin' a fight."

The Mystic Elf's hands stopped glowing, the spiritual creature giving a dainty bow before they dematerialized. Her healing should be enough to make sure she wasn't near death's door. The Mokey Mokey's at this point managed to catch up from where they fled off to during the period Sateramon was active.

The Youthful Sage

Eitri listened as Belowksi laughed and spoke. The elf disappeared, fading away as her healing came to completion. Eitri was still in a lot of pain, but she felt stable. Not like her very life was draining from her, but still too weak to do much. Just beyond Belowski, she watched as two other creatures approached. The Mokey Mokeys. And with them, their exhausting aura. Eitri sighed, looking up to the sky. In her state, she was in no condition to put up substantial resistance against the cool vibes.
"How... Predictable..." Eitri said. Her eyes fluttered shut, and she fell into a peaceful, deep slumber.

Zed
Zed said nothing as Vader seemed to question his capabilities, noting how little he'd managed to do against the fleeing Dusty. The sith added that the recent battle was enough of an excuse, something the Adept could agree with, though it did not make this unfamiliar feeling of weakness any easier to deal with. The successor to a mighty authority, wielding the power of nuclear fusion, unable to finish off a simple machine...

What a horrible thing to deal with.

Thankfully for Zed, his wounds soon sealed and his pain diminished, courtesy of Darth's Force healing. It was enough for him to maintain flight comfortably, leaping off the ground, fiery wing periodically flapping behind him. The beam of light that had swept along the earth had not gone unnoticed by Zed either. He initially thought it to be Sateramon's doing, but Vader's words alluded to the bounty hunter having been defeated by it, confirmed by the number in the sky now dropping under twenty. An unexpected turn of events.

"Your aid is appreciated," the prince told his ally with a nod. "I'm afraid I cannot heal you like you just did to me, but I get the impression that you do not need it as much." He added, glancing over to the crevice left by the beam of light from moments ago.

"Are you able to sense the gunman's killer? Strength, capabilities? There is a possibility their latest encounter left them in a weaker state, much like we were after Entermon's defeat. A chance to finish a powerful target off."

VADER

Zed's eagerness to apprehend their next possible target was invigorating for the dark lord. An assurance of continued conquest in this strange land with destructive and oppressive opportunities. His question was not something easily answered. The force did not hold every answer, and even less so in this diminished realm. His connection to the force remained, but it was weakened, almost as though he were very, very far from its source. This much could be assumed to be true, and he was thankful the force's reach extended to this place---without it, he would have fallen quite easily to Entermon, though the penguin king and the street fighter would have been similarly dealt with.

"The source of this energy came from near the barrier," Darth responded, before he shifted his body to gaze toward the massive hole made by the long-dead behemoth of a creature. It had been destroyed upon making contact with the same barrier that engulfed this arena, it exerted an energy he could feel all around. A deadly shield that meant death to all who touched it. By feeling through the force, Vader could deduce the little information that the shield had felt a disturbance in the same direction the beam of light had come from. Powerful energies surging near it. He had a location, but not much else to go on.

"We must be cautious. Alliances will have been made. Unlike Sateramon, not all of our enemies are confident enough to attempt this gauntlet alone," his dark gaze shifted back toward Zed. "In our weakened states, further exhausted by battle, we cannot afford to rush into conflict. We need to know more of our enemy, and I know where the one we seek is." He offered a vague gesture in the direction of Sateramon's killers. Enemies they would be for now, but if he could sense the dark familiarity in any there, like he had with Zed, it would be a wise choice to recruit more to their cause, and take some of the heat off of the sith lord in favor. He would not uncover the truth of this place if he were defeated, after all.

Belowski

...

"So like, would love to just kick it and chill, but like...you think that guy goin' out like that made anybody mad?"

He asked his Mokey Mokeys and Bugs this question, the former carrying Eitri on their pillow like bodies. Belowski scratched his head, clearly not it a rush.

"Cause like, that would be a bummer if they come all the way here and see us, blaming us dudes for throwin' off their groove."

It was even worse considering that the crevice that was made by Sateramon made it a straight line to get to them, since the laser had carved out any boulder, tree, or obstruction. Would be easy to make a bee line to their location.

Dusty McClean

Had he been able, Dusty would have let a sigh of relief escape him as he was out of sight of Vader and Zed now, though he didn't stop. It had been too close, and while sucking up bodies was usually rather tasty, having to taste the blood of what was basically a child left a poor taste...

Reminded him way too much of his early eagerness when Billy got hurt when he was even smaller, and that blood had dripped to the floor... Bleh.
"Well...that was too close." Sexy managed to comment, having caught up. His wound from the lightsaber on his blade gone, the perks of technically only being a manifestation of a soul it seemed. "We underestimated them. That's not a feeling I'm used to." He admitted, the maybe-hologram pushing a hand against his neck to make a small crack noise.
"Beep..."
"Yes, it's quite frustrating, but hey! That just means we have to change strategies, you know?" Sexy suggested, Dusty seeming to agree. "Let's not head into a fight head on, unless it's someone we can handle, and set off traps from afar! We should find somewhere we can work from with that in mind, or else we'd be in for a bad time!"

And with that agreement made, Dusty kept moving. Away from the burning forest, towards what he assumed was the north west area of the arena...and towards the border. Not too far, though, he didn't want to risk dying from exploring too hard and, say, falling off a cliff just outside.

Masaru Takahara

Masaru was rather shocked as Omega lifted him, though had enough faith to assume whatever 'atomization' was, it was worse. Flown away by his ally, Masaru soon was thrown and landed on his face with a rather loud grunt of pain.

"Gah, a little warning would go a long way you know..." He managed to joke as he stood, before frowning again as he saw Omega with the popped thruster. "Uh...you okay?"

Zed
They had a lead. Zed's body turned towards the direction Vader had gestured, roughly north of their position.

"I agree. We must be cautious from now on." The prince concurred, taking the lead as he began flying at a moderate pace towards Sateramon's killers, following the massive crevice left along the earth. "Let us begin our search." He told his ally

Even with the area being seemingly clear and the number of contestants having lowered, the faraway sounds of battle still reached his ears. It seemed the conflicts were far from over. He couldn't help but wonder how many contestants had made alliances with each other, given how quickly the number had dropped recently. Just as Vader stated, the two leaders would be far from the only ones to team up.

Bowser
BOOM!

The brick disintegrated upon impact, revealing the shell of a familiar turtle embedded back-first in the middle of the crater. After a moment, the limbs popped out, and Bowser rocked forward onto his feet.

"Ugh... What's in that flask, huh? Lucky I don't have my potion of choice, brat..."

King Koopa cracked his neck, and suddenly summoned a heavy iron mallet. He held up his free hand to the hammer, and summoned six shadow-replicas of the hammer, before pitching them all in a scattershot of hard-hitting projectiles.

Then he rushed forward hastily, and attempted to whack Nikolai with a monster backhand.

Omega
The robot's metal body groaned as he got up. Ignoring Masaru's criticism towards saving his life, Omega spoke,

"THRUSTER COMPROMISED, OTHERWISE THE IMPACT DID MINOR DAMAGE. DID I POP ANY OF YOU SQUISHY THINGS?"

Darkness. Shadow. Eitri blinked her eyes, slowly looking around. She was asleep, she knew that. No Ljósálfar arrived to take her to Ljósálfheimr, nor Dökkálfar to take her to Dökkálfheimr. She preferred it this way. Eitri had long since developed a way to control her dreaming, letting her work and plan as she slept as long as those fairies left her alone. From the shadows a chair and table formed, and Eitri sat down. She knew Grim Brokkr would not be able to handle an extended exposure to the barrier's energy, but she had thought she could be fast enough to prevent lasting damage. Unfortunate. And now, Grim Brokkr was destroyed and Divine Recreation was damaged. Perhaps the seiðjárn eye of Grim Brokkr had survived the blast. If the eye within her own hat returned, she could use it to track down the pieces of Grim Brokkr. At least then they could start somewhere.

In the mean time, she had to work with what she had. On the table, a series of items materialized. Eitri looked to the first of the items. Her tome of wind magic. Rexcalibur was a powerful spell, especially since she had refined it to Rexcalibur+. But it was very lacking compared to the power of Grim Brokkr. Elwind and Wind may be effective if applied properly, but they were weaker spells. If Eitri was to run into another like Sateramon, Rexcalibur+ would be sorely lacking. Her eyes floated over to the next item on the table. The Prototype Breidablik. Eitri scowled, looking away from it. A failed experiment that she was resorting to using. The 'heroes' it could summon were weak, broken, wild, and soulless. It was doubtful if they would even listen is she gave them orders, but she didn't have much else to work with.

Eitri looked to the next item. A game board, with a few pieces on it. The first one, a figurine of a small boy with a strange device on his arm and creature floating around him. Belowski. There was an unusual air about him. He could be the type of person you only met a few times in a hundred years, or another everyday slacker. Eitri very much hoped it was the former. His pacifistic nature made it difficult to ally with him in an event like this. But it seemed that she had managed to win him over, at least for now. For how long his loyalty would last, Eitri was unsure. For now, Eitri would attempt to maintain their alliance.

Then there was the second figurine. A humanoid rabbit creature. The nature of this Bugs Bunny was strange to Eitri. The way he acted and moved, it reminded Eitri of some of the more stranger Ljósálfar fairies. Almost some sort of false logic lay about him. Yet Belowski and him appeared to hit it off quite quickly. Eitri herself likely would not be able to maintain an alliance with Bugs. But maintain her alliance with Belowski, and Bugs will follow.

Eitri slightly shifted in her sleep, taking the hands of one of the Mokey Mokey.

So, this giant idiot now tried to get rid of him? Well, while it was fun trying to beat the shit out of this thing, Buzzo couldn't agree more! Much as he loved to cut this thing up, he neede some distance to think up new ways to try and toss this thing's salad. So, with a strong grip on his machete, Buzzo thrusted himself upward, kicking himself off the handle and leaping away - only for his attention to be caught once again when a beam was approaching rapidly towards their location.

Quickly thinking, Buzzo had faced the beam with a full smile, putting his arms up and using his Guard Skill once more, he'd prepare to tank away as much of it as he could.

NIKOLAI

(Auto-Perms From Mallard)
Bowser made his following attack, launching a series of his summonable mallets before charging in behind them. Eyes burning with energy, Nikolai disappeared. For but a split second, he was at the leftmost projectile, slamming his fist into it, making the summon burst into nothing. In almost the exact same millisecond, he was at the rightmost projectile. Before a full second had elapsed, five of the mallets had been dispersed, before the final one, not of shadow, was suddenly pummeled into Bowser's gut.

Bowser was set ablaze as the sound barrier shattered, having been launched so quickly that the oxygen had ignited in an effort to escape his path. Nikolai had grapped the koopa's mallet and used it against him, a hit that had destroyed the weapon. In the blink of an eye, Bowser nearly crashed directly into the airborne Buzzo, but was stopped when the Russian appeared between them, already slugging his fist into Bowser's shell, launching the king in another direction.

A seeming game of ping-pong took place as Bowser was smashed this way and that, all without being given the time to comprehend his situation. Hundreds of times he was hit, and when all was said and done, ten seconds had yet to elapse. Attempting to spare himself too brutal of a punishment, the bewildered koopa closed inside of his shell again, only to feel the fist slug once more into the center of his earlier giga-impact. The shell's integrity was nearly shattered, but it held, the koopa launching skyward---directly for the top of the energy barrier. Had Nikolai known its properties, the battle might have ended then and there with Bowser disintegrating against it, but instead, Nikolai appeared above, his hands clasped into a pile-driving hammer blow.

"Khoroshaya igra."

His fists released a burst of energy that lit up the sky, like a nuclear explosion (though not quite wielding the force of one). One moment, Bowser was nearly a mile high into the air, and the blinding blue light that engulfed the entire arena flashed, before the very same second, the king of the koopa's had impacted the earth, releasing an echoing boom as the impact shattered the ground, releasing a shockwave that flattened a majority of the burning forest, and sent any still remotely near the vicinity sprawling.

With a much, much lighter thud, the Spirit of the Messiah hit the ground on his side with a grunt, his eyes rapidly dimming, his aura of indigo fading. If he could actually feel the intended effects of alcohol, he was certain this was what a hangover felt like. Letting out quick breaths, Nikolai tried to pick himself up, but his arms shook too violently, and he fell back to the ground. That form had sapped all of the energy from him. He had, quite literally, not an ounce remaining. It was why he had only used this power once before in his life, and that had been to escape certain death. This time . . . well, he felt consequences were moot here, for some reason. That, or maybe he just thought the king of the koopas was worth the effort.

Weakly, Nikolai looked up, squinting into the smoke and debris to see a dark form materializing out of the dust, stomping toward him. Shock was the initial feeling the Russian felt. He knew that such a silhouette could only belong to his opponent, who had not only survived such a brutal, devastating barrage, but was standing. Shock was quickly replaced with awe and respect, as Nikolai's lips split into a wide grin. "You . . ." he grunted out as Bowser emerged in front of him, some fire still smoldering along his shell, the back of which was sporting a fresh crack running diagonally along it, and his front shell appeared to have splintered off in a few rare spots, revealing pink flesh beneath. Bowser let out a fury-filled exhale, dark smoke flitting out of his nostrils. "You are great opponent," Nikolai winced out as he tried once again to pick himself up, but his arms gave out under him. He was so weak . . . he wasn't certain even his natural defense would hold up. He might as well be any old human in this state. "You have . . . won, voin."

LEON

"Nah, the pink dude's fine," Leon replied to the robot's question, though there was no elaboration if he was joking, or legitimately believed Omega had asked solely about Kirby. "Myself, on the other hand . . . might need to visit a chiropractor when we're done."

Before his last syllable had been uttered, a sudden blinding light filled the sky, and the agent reflexively shielded his eyes from the burst of blue, which faded almost as quickly as it had appeared. He turned his head toward where he believed the source had come from, brow creasing in slight agitation. "First that beam, now---"

He was interrupted when an ear-splitting boom shook the earth beneath them, followed by a strong gust of wind that nearly bowled him over. Regaining his footing, the DSO agent shook his head. "I think we need more friends."

VADER

The two began their march, following the path of the beam of energy as much of the forest continued to burn around them, the fire spreading rapidly, unchecked. However, in that moment, Darth could sense a disturbance in the force. His eyes directed upward in time to see a sudden and brilliant flash of light consume the sky, something that lasted only a second, but forced the dark lord to turn away, the light bright enough to hurt even his shielded visage, which usually protected against bright light.

Almost immediately, an earth-shattering boom sounded, and Vader grit his teeth, realizing what was happening. His ally would need to take cover with him, lest be caught in the approaching blast as Darth raised his arm, a curving mound of earth rising from the ground just as the concussive wave reached them. The ramp-shield was shattered on impact, spraying dirt and ash over the sith, engulfing him---but sparing him from a worse fate, as the barrier had taken much of the impact, its sloping quality directing some energy upward, leaving Vader to only skid back a foot as the blast passed them by.

The dark lord recognized power when he saw it, and even a blind fool would know this as such. But how could one attain this degree of power in this realm? Vader had been under the impression that everyone had suffered some sort of weakness to their true potential. Perhaps it was something akin to Entermon, some kind of "form" capable of more power. Whatever the case was, Vader sensed a rare opportunity. That kind of power would be useful to have, and if it failed to whatever it fought, then all the better.

Bowser
The testundine tyrant stomped through the dust and smoke. His teeth were bared, glistening with dark red ichor, and mixed in somewhere within the furious scowl was a grimace of pain.

"You done running around, zippy? Yeah? Well now it's my turn."

As Nikolai attempted to stand, Bowser halfheartedly slapped the man into the dirt. Then he raised a fist, and dropped it into the man's face. He did it again, and once more, to find that Nikolai seemed significantly squishier. He temporarily ended his blows to ask a question.

"I haven't been this roughed up since all the flesh melted off my bones... What's your name?"

Nikolai didn't say a word. He had a deranged smile on his face, remaining teeth, similar to Bowser, soaked in his own blood. The mad look in Nikolai's eye would unnerve anyone else, but the Koopa was over it.

"Wait, I remembered that I don't actually care."

Satisfied with his insult to The Spirit's pride, the bully's scowl turned into a grin. He backhanded the Russian, who still retained a wordless smile. Bowser leapt high into the air, wind rushing past as he soared above the treetops. He came down much faster than he rose, and his foot came down with a devastating force upon Nikolai's head, creating a crater around the impact and causing the king to flinch from previously sustained wounds.

Petey
For the split-second that Petey was inside the beam, he didn't like it in the slightest. His petals and leaf-arms were singed, his cellulose was patchy, and his polka-dot boxers were ablaze. The burning sensation overwhelmed his primitive consciousness, and he fell onto his back, extinguishing the flames and exposing his belly button weak spot.
As Petey regained the ability to focus on specific ideas, he wondered why Buzzo hadn't struck his weak spot yet. He slowly rolled his head to the side, and saw why. There stood a charred skeleton wearing a familiar spiked helmet, still standing in the guard position.

17

Then, a bright light in the sky. The shockwave flattened Petey against the ground, especially damaging to his exposed belly button. This sting of pain encouraged the plant to rise to his feet, wobbling. He wasn’t in a good shape for fighting, not by a long shot, but the the most prestigious of the Pirahna Plants still stood

Omega
Omega picked up another spike in energy, followed by the gust of wind, which didn't effect the much denser robot as much as it did the others. The walking arsenal turned to Leon.

"DO NOT FRET HUMAN, I CAN PROVIDE ADEQUATE PROTECTION. BOTH THAT BEAM AND EXPLOSION STILL LEFT TREES STANDING."

As if on ironic cue, a spout of sparks flew out of Omega again, not very reassuringly.

Just like Vader, Zed had also sensed this spike in power---a burst of energy beyond what Entermon had displayed, albeit it was a short lived one. The prince took cover behind Vader's barrier, the two saved from the concussive force.

"Fascinating," Zed couldn't help but remark, looking up at where the flash of light had been a moment ago. "It seems some contestants are still capable of drawing out their full power. Perhaps boosts like these are temporary." He added, recalling Entermon's own sixty-second limit. Moments later, the orange number in the sky ticked down twice, two resounding booms echoing throughout the land, though Zed himself could not tell who had met their demise just now.

Vader could, however.

"Was that the source of that power?"

VADER

Zed's words made the dark lord's thoughts kick into high gear. He'd already drawn much the same conclusion, but hearing Zed talk about it instilled Darth with an idea: if others could attain some form of their full potential in this realm, then surely, he could as well. There had to be some way to obtain this, and while it was clear that these "power-ups" would be limited, they would be of great aid in battle, especially against anything like Entermon.

When the sky counter ticked down again, twice this time, Zed questioned if it had been the source of the display they had just witnessed. Tapping into his force sense, Vader peered through the veils of time and space to try and catch a glimpse of the answer his ally sought.

"Another has defeated that power, like Sateramon before it," Vader confirmed. He also sensed something else. Darkness, anger, wrath . . . all very, very familiar to the dark lord. Whatever had survived was like-minded, as Zed had been. The chance of recruitment seemed to grow. He turned his gaze sharply upon Zed. "The victor is like us. We would be wise to expand our . . . 'arrangement'."

A potential new ally. Zed had no qualms with this, knowing strength in numbers would be a major advantage here, increasing their odds of snuffing out any opposition, especially if they were to fight someone with the kind of power that had just been displayed.

The prince gave Darth a nod. "We mustn't waste any time, then. That surge may have gotten the attention of those who'd seek to finish off a weakened target." With that, Zed took off in the direction of the flash of light, slightly off the path that would've led the two to Sateramon's killers.

The Duck was still butthurt. Both literally and figuratively, from Matilda's bullet and Kirby's "betrayal" respectively.
As he pouted, he didn't pay attention to where he was going all that much. He tripped on a root, tumbled through a bush, and faceplanted in front of a cybernetic humanoid, whose sleek robotics had patches of makeshift repairs.
Psyduck looked up at Jack, frozen in place, unsure how to react until if figured the man for friend or foe.

Mean Fiends with a Similar Color Scheme
The King of the Koopas sluggishly stomped through the smoke and dust, seeing his fellow mutant beast having survived his own battle. A huge grin spread across Petey's face, despite his rough shape.

"Keep up, we've got some more punks we gotta beat before we get out of here."

Petey tilted his head and pursed his lips.

"Yeah, I can still fight. You kiddin' me? Nothing a Super Mushroom and a good fifteen-hour nap can't fix."

Dusty McClean

As Dusty reached what looked like some abandoned buildings, he stopped to survey what he saw. While they were abandoned, this was much more what he was used to, thankfully - An Urban area, filled presumably with loads of electronics. Maybe even a TV if he figured out a way to sneak back into that TV void world to get some training in! So, he dashed into the tallest building he could find, a skyscraper of sorts it seemed, and moments later...
Flicker, flicker
From an outside perspective, every light in the building zapped to life at full power - It seemed power may still have been going there, but it was all shut off. Why?

Dusty had no time to ponder, who knew if any of those strong guys he'd fought before would show up suddenly, so he moved around each floor, looking at every electronic he could, as if examining it, before, with the help of Up and Away's balloons to lessen the fall, hid under a low desk on the ground floor, waiting...

Masaru Takahara

"If you say so- Woah!" Masaru shrugged at Omega's confidence, before cut off by the sight of a blue light, quickly forced to shut his eyes. Soon after came a gust of wind that almost knocked the man of his feet. He caught himself though - He'd handled worse winds before, like a tornado to his face...

"Yeah, more friends is underselling this...And, no offense, but you don't look up to taking much more." He pointed out to Omega. "Doesn't take a genius to think sparks coming out of metal stuff is bad, I've seen enough sci-fi to know that. How about you let me tank some stuff for ya, just in return?"
It was not very clear if he was joking in that offer, if he geniunely could, or if he was being dimwitted.

Then, he thought of something. "Ah! Little pink guy, you okay too?" He finally remembered Kirby as he looked over to the little star warrior.

Jack

He hadn't seen many contestants since his encounter with Grief. Sure, there was the occasional laser, flash of light or someone flying overhead, but the Ghostrunner had spent his time in hiding, giving the Architect a chance to work on Jack's botched repairs, constantly letting out comments along the lines of 'that fool would be unable to recognize a work of art if he saw one'. Seemed he did not take kindly to having the last Ghostrunner be treated this way. Not like he thought any better of the Climbers, anyway.

Eventually, he stumbled upon something. A nearly three foot tall, yellow duck waddling towards him, oblivious to its surroundings as it tripped on a root, coming to a stop right in front of the machine. Now, he hadn't stumbled into any wildlife yet, and he wasn't sure if this thing was part of the competition, but it was the first time he'd seen a purely organic animal. It was rather fascinating, as odd as it looked. Maybe it was friendly?

Calmly and slowly, Jack wordlessly extended a hand for Psyduck to grab onto, clearly intending on helping him to his feet.

The shadows around Eitri began to form and take shape once again. Walls rose up around the mage, coming into focus. High ceilings and arches, painted glass windows, massive gears all in monochrome. Eitri found herself standing in the Grand Hall of the Niðavellir Castle. The Sage frowned. Now was not the time to be thinking of such things. With a wave of her hand, her surroundings changed. The grand halls of the castle faded, becoming smaller. Eitri now found herself sitting in a clearing, with walls of vines surrounding it and large tree overhead. The center of her Sage's Sanctum. Here, she could think.

Shadows formed on the table once again, and bringing into focus Belowski's duel disk. Truly, an incredible device. So much energy and technology, yet without any magic whatsoever. Eitri had heard about such things like this before. From the unknown world, the World of Steel. A world where the people had cut their ties with magic, with the gods, even with Ljósálfheimr and Dökkálfheimr. Could Belowski be from the same place the Summoner of Askr was from? If that was so, then perhaps Belowski himself had a key to completing the Prototype Breidablik. Then there were those strange buildings they were traveling towards. The towers, so distinct in shape even in ruins. They too were from the World of Steel. What was this tournament they have been thrown into, even being able to pull from the World of Steel?

A muffled boom shook the sanctum, and the world around Eitri began to fade into a blur. She was beginning to wake up.

~

Eitri's eyes fluttered open, having been stirred awake from the noise and slight shock of a massive explosion in the distance. She was laying on something incredibly soft and comfortable, making it even more difficult to push off the shackles of sleep. But she needed to know. Eitri looked around drowsily. She was moving, being carried by whatever soft thing she was laying upon. Nearby, she could see Belowski and Bugs.
"Are we... under attack?" Eitri asked, still half-asleep but fighting hard to awaken.
