Reina Cortez, July 24th, Cianwood, Johto.
Reina smiled at Emma and waved her off, "Thanks, appreciate it." She felt a bit bad for having basically ran off her company, but she wasn't in the mood to gain a new group member, that was an Esther thing anyways. She should go seek out Esther though?
The Metztli native sighed and looked at the waves, almost having forgotten the reason she was there in the first place. It was time to end it all, to end the story, she couldn't go on. "It's time Diva."
The Clefairy took in a deep breath and stood next to her trainer. They both faced the roaring waves, looked down at the sand and then...
"The sun'll come out tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow
There'll be sun
Just thinkin' about tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow
'Til there's none
When I'm stuck with a day that's grey and lonely
I just stick up my chin and grin and say, oh
The sun'll come out tomorrow
So you gotta hang on 'til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow
You're always a day away"
As Reina walked down the beach singing her heart out with Diva spinning and dancing behind her, the bad thoughts began to fade away, her mind began to relax and Chuck began to chuckle...
"Chuck?!" The girl stopped, blushing red as she had been discovered.
The fighting gym leader burst into a loud laughter. "Sorry about that! Wasn't expecting a show. I came looking for ya, I have an idea you might like."
Reina stopped trying to hide her face and her green eyes lit with curiosity. "An idea, for what?"
While the gym leader explained his plan, Reina grew more and more excited. She couldn't believe such an offer was being thrown her away. The only thing that wasn't letting her fully enjoy the good news, was the team she had been traveling with. As Chuck bead her farewell, Reina smiled and bowed to thank the man for his generosity. Once again, she found herself alone with Diva.
My dear comrades, I have come across an amazing opportunity! Chuck, this city's gym leader, happens to be a friend of my master back home. They have arranged for me to train under Chuck for now. With a heavy heart, I say goodbye, for now. I wish you all the best and we meet again in the future!- Sincerely, Reina.
It didn't feel right to stop in the middle of her journey to do a training session, but Chuck was right. There was something missing, she had the potential, she knew it, but it always felt she won her battles by a string of luck. It was for her own good, even if it meant saying bye to the group. There was just one person she wasn't comfortable saying goodbye to with just a group message.
Hey! Want to have dinner or lunch before you leave?
Reina pressed send, delivery the text to Esther. She put her phone away and kept walking down the beach, towards a stone up ahead, where she would take a break, trying to digest everything happening.
