Celeste sat in her private staging room in the arena after sending the text to Kari. She was sitting on the bed in there and threw herself backward to lie down with her legs dangling off the edge at the knees. She kicked off her shoes and scooted onto the bed entirely.
Her team was in high spirits after their victory, and the defeated members had already been revived and restored. Lucas had been eating copious amounts of food, and is now eating his third Poké Puff. Mega-evolving burns though energy insanely quickly, especially the demanding way the Spire Masters battled. Typically hunger is not felt while battling, but after turning back the Pokémon would be famished. Sylvia was on the bed along with Kayo talking to one another about the match, while Tempris and Sycorax were conversing with Lucas. Aegis was watching the replay of the match on the large flat screen in the room. Celeste’s phone vibrated as she received several more texts at once, most were congratulatory texts from veteran participants, and Battlemasters.
She read the text from Ajax, “Yea that sounds like him.” Celeste sat back up drawing the attention of her entire team for a moment before the resumed their conversations. “Let’s go get some dinner now, I’m sure your all starving!” her entire team cheered while Lucas smiled with a mouthful of Poké Puff. Half of her team had opted to go back into their Pokéballs with the exception of Sylvia, Kayo, and Lucas. As she exited the arena she was glad to see that the massive crowds had mostly disbanded leaving a few groups of trainers that were chatting and making plans. In the distance numerous distinct sounds of Pokémon battles echoed throughout the island.
Celeste was not bothered too much by people as she made her way into the city on the island. When she did get stopped she would answer the individual’s questions and excuse herself saying she had to meet a friend. As she walked the streets of the city the shops were bight and glittering in the night, almost all of them full or nearly full of customers. Continuing further down the street towards the town center and the secondary plaza which is another popular locations for trainers to meet up, but instead of battling, this plaza was known for its delicious food stands for both people and Pokémon. This was a place that Celeste frequently visited on the evenings. Smelling the food, the rest of Celeste’s team came out of their Pokéballs and looked around excitedly. “SO!” Celeste said loudly to get the attention of her team, “Tonight, we’re going to get whatever you guys want to eat, and however much you guys want to eat.” Celeste announced. Lucas’s eyes went as big as saucers as he began to slightly drool. Sylvia gently tapped the back of his head with one of her ribbons and he snapped out of it, nodded and looked around.
The next two hours, Celeste spent her time with her team, each of them taking a turn to lead the group around to whatever they wanted to eat, and getting whatever they wanted, the rest of the team could get anything that interested them as well.
Celeste ended up not spending as much money as she thought she would, a lot of the vendors recognized her and gave her and her Pokémon whatever they wanted on the house. Especially when it was Sylvia’s turn to lead the group. Regardless of the vendors and other spectators, Sylvia had always been a fan favorite on the island, making friends with just about anyone she meets.
The seven of them all decided to sit and relax at a nearby bench that had a great general view of the plaza and ate. As the night drew a little later, more Pokémon battles had started around the plaza mostly among new participants not knowing any better that a Spire Master and her team was watching them.
