Ben sighed as he reread the message.
Greetings Trainer!
In recognition of your accomplishments and achievements within the higher tiers of competitive battling, it is with great honor and pleasure that the Battle Spire extends an invitation to you, for a visit and stay at Veritas Island for this summer Challenge Season.
But why me?
He wondered.
Sure his lucario is pretty strong, but this is the place for champions, people with most likely more strength than him. Could he keep up?
He looked over to his lucario, who was training along with his cinderace.
The aura pokemon looked ecstatic while Ben read the message, and immediately wanted to train, as if Ben already accepted.
But did he though?
After watching more of the training, lucario noticed and gave a thumbs(?)-up.
Ben shook his head.
Whats was he thinking? Lose or win it'll be a great experience! Maybe lucario and him could find some kind of rival! Make friends! Learn new strategies!
He called back his cindrace and sent out golurk. " Alright lucario, let's go!" he said as he climbed on top of golurk. Lucario excitedly followed.
Ben counted down " 3....2....1..... Launch!"
And they were off.
~ Couple Hours later~
Ben was surprised to see the front of the tower so barren. Did he come late? Whoops.
After checking in and trying to explain to a suspicious employee that he really did get the invitation, (Didn't help much with his self-confidence) he unpacked at his hotel room and explored his surroundings. The place really was empty.
Everyone is probably in the stadium to watch the battles thought Ben. Might as well go too.
"Where is everyone?" Ben said aloud in the empty stadium. He pondered this for a bit, until Lucario, tired with his trainers stupidity, slapped him on the back of the head and pointed at the hotel.
".....oh. My bad" was all Ben said. Turns out he came really late, as the opening ceremony was over.
Ben hung his head and trudged to the hotel. " Too bad" he said "Would've been nice to see a battle, and maybe even battle someone." He snapped his head up. " Wait, there's still some hours to burn. Come on Lucario, we need to train!" Ben ran to the hotel, already excited despite his initial disappointment missing the event. The pokemon just shrugged, he supposed they could train a while, and followed his trainer.

Distracted by the Umbreon's defeat, neither Edward nor Dino saw the Glaceon's attack coming. Finally, a breakthrough, thought the trainer, We might actually be able to pull this off! From behind the Haxorus, a wave of ice covered the ground, trapping his feet for long enough that the Glaceon struck dead center with her Retaliate. The force of the attack sent the large Pokemon reeling backwards, knocking him flat on his back. When the dust had settled, Dino was lying unconscious in one of the craters from Draco Meteor. Oh.

Blinking in surprise, Edward held out a Pokeball and returned Dino. "You did well, old friend," he muttered, "Now rest well." That wasn't ideal, but I might still have the advantage. That exchange simplified the battle into one where neither party has a glaring type advantage, and it will be easier to concentrate on just one battle. Unfortunately, it seems like the Glaceon is the stronger of her two Pokemon, and it is faster than Morgan... "First thing's first! Trick Room!"

Morgan lowered herself to the ground and laid a palm on the compact earth. A complex grid of purple energy weaved its way out from the point of contact, forming a translucent border around the arena. Floating up, Morgan now seemed to be moving faster than before.

Sasha walked into a training room with lots of equipment in it. This is it. The last day of training. Sasha thought to himself. Better train myself too. I'll let my pokemon train without me, it'll be better for them to think about dodging and countering themselves instead of me having to catch it for them and tell them how. He walked over to a set of weights that were sitting there on the side. He started doing reps while watching his main team and his backup pokemon spar in the room all around. It reminded him of the buisness he built for all those kids back in Nimbasa city, using their newer pokemon in the beginning classes, and then graduating to the higher classes, until they eventually went up against his backup team. It was always so much fun teaching the kids and helping them find stratigies for their pokemon that are very effective in the battle. Watching his pokemon, he noticed Lucario seeming to be preoccupied with something else. As if he sensed another presence that was familiarly making him irritated a bit. He blocked an incoming accelerock with a bone rush, pushed away lycenroc, and then started growling. "Cario..." He said in between his teeth. All of the other pokemin stopped midway of their training and backed away from him. Giving him some space and then continued their trianing.
"What's wrong Lucario?" Sasha asked.
"Lu.. Lu Cario... Luc rio ri" He replied. Staring right at Sasha. Since they have such a strong bond, Lucario can send messages through its aura to Sasha in a wave of feelings and a few simple words.
The aura read: "Passion, anger, happiness, comfort, Me...other...here...Ben"
"So.." Sasha started. "My old rival is here. Figures as much, never could stay away from my footsteps of progress. I'll talk to him later though Lucario, right now he's not the reason we are here and I don't think that we'll have to worry about battling cuz he would be here to compete like me. We need to put full effort into our training so we can be sure of our victory."
Lucario's growling died down, and he headed back to the others. They all greeted him back as they faced off against their opponents.
Can't wait for tommorrow, the opening was great, but the battles will be greater, you better look out Battle masters and Spire masters, cuz I'm not gonna go easy, and you better not either."
He continued his reps, preparing for the rough road he was about to face ahead, and even possibly his old rival Ben from his home region of Unova.

Evangeline was contemplating on the battle. What had gone so wrong? She overcame many obstacles with her posse of Eevee and their evolutions, knowing full well there were other better Pokemon to use out there. But besides her team composition, what went wrong? Did Umbra get too close? Did Glacier fail to help Umbra? Did Umbra stay too far away from Glacier? At least Dino was knocked out. It was just the Dusclops turn. She really wanted to win. Really wanted to win her first fight. The adrenaline coursed through her veins, her muscles contracting - causing her fist to clench and her teeth to grit. She was angry. Real angry. She needed to win this fight. This fight will validate everything she had done up to this point, keep her head floating in the game. Just the first battle. That's all she was asking. At least she knew, after winning, that battles here were possible.

What had transpired next was starting to make her blood boil. Trick Room? Oh no. Glacier relied on his speed and quickness. He had to go on the defensive. While that's not that difficult for a Glaceon, this one had been battered and bruised from many different types of attacks, mainly from the likes of Dino's Draco Meteor and Morgan's Shadow Balls and Payback. He needed to be careful.

Now that the field's speed was warped, Eva and Glacier knew that Morgan was going to be the faster one out of the two. What could Glacier do? Make a wall.

"Ice Beam, create a wall around yourself. Hide!" she commanded in fright.

Glacier did as she commanded. While not his preferred way of dealing with danger, he knew that if he didn't put some space between the Dusclops and him, he was going to go down sooner or later. He concentrated on his surroundings, causing a sudden chill in the air around him. As soon as snowflakes intermingled with the hail coming down around him, he sent forth his icy energy into the ground - his spikes on his back shrinking down to accommodate for the sudden surge of energy needed - which immediately sprouted upwards into icy stalagmites around him, covering everything, including the top portion - covering him from Morgan's attacks (Defensive Ice Shard). A Fire-Type attack would melt it, while a Fighting-, Rock-, or Steel-Type attack would crush it no problem, but it was ample time for cover. He then dug underground, pawing away at the soft earth underneath him as quickly as he could (Dig). Luckily, he knew of no Dusclops that knew Earthquake. By the time he was underneath, he sealed with entrance with more ice.

He then dug his way through the underground, breaching for a moment before retreating back down, creating more tunnels, more holes to hide in. He was going to play whack-a-mole with the Dusclops. Let's hope his fists were now faster than Glacier.

After the events of the most immense battle between two members with ranks akin to her own, Zenith is now in her place , wearing her old attire, with her giant Charizard flying beside her , and has been wandering throughout the Island as of this point. She wanted to have a chance to battle, but the question was with who exactly ? This was before someone nudged her shoulder. She turned around quickly to face the individual.

It was a young trainer, eighteen years of age, with purple eyes and black hair whose bangs covered her right hair. Beside her was a Hydreigon which almost radiated power, even without it's Bonds was quite the formidable monstrosity. Eevee recognized the Hydreigon immediately, shivering at the old memories of dancing the menace in battle. At first, Frankie didn't recognize her, but as soon as she moments later did her eyes widened.

" Ahh... Amelia. It's been a whil3. Wait, where you invited to compete ? If you were, ir would be fun to spare with your Hydreigon again " . Zenith said, as Hades the Charizard roared in agreement Amelia stammered "Umm... Hi Zenith. U-Uh, no... didn't we ... Agree on me coming here to gain experience as a trainer ?" . Zenith facepalmed at herself, shaking her head " Hmm...... We did. My apologies . Anyways, We were just going to spectate some duels and perhaps challenge one of the Spire Masters later on. Do you want to join me ? "

A soft, shy smile appeared on Amelia's face before nodding. Zenith smiled herself, always able to be cheered up by her adopted sis " Alright then... Let's go on ahead then " . With that, the two began their tracking, while Zenith looked to fit her Dragonic type pokemon , Amelia didn't match hers whatsoever, despite the ironic part being Amelia was definitely had the stronger pokemon.

@Anyone

Bailey was growing bored of watching the two battles unfolding before him, so he instead decided he'd go back to the massive hotel he'd checked into earlier, however on his way he spotted someone he recognized, one of the Spire Masters, Zenith, to be exact, he only recognized her from the book he'd read on the spires higher ups. She appeared to be walking with another person, though that didn't deter him and he walked up to her anyway. "Hey! You wouldn't happen to be Zenith, one of the Spire Masters, would you?" He asked once he got close enough.

It had been a while with Amalia not getting a request. “.,..huh. They’re probably just busy. Wanna see if we can fight that Ajax guy?”, she sighed to Pearl. She nodded and she got recalled. “Wait... it’s says Battlemasters. Crud. Maybe tomorrow, or....”
Amara notices the two Trainers. “Uh.. do any of you want to battle?”, she nervously asked.
(@The Legendary Trainer)

While wandering she came across a rather intriguing individual, who would be known as Baily. Amelia timidly hid behind Zenith, not wanting to really converse with anyone. Zenith didn't recognize this person, but he definitely recognized her that was for sure. That was both a blessing and curse of doing so well in this establishment. Zenith smiled and said "Indeed I am. It's nice to meet you in actuality. In-fact, it's nice to meet you to--" . Beofre she could even answer him another person came and was forced to listen to her. While she did recognize her partly through visuals and nothing more, she seemed to be prospecting a rather keen concept: The concept of a battle of sorts. Zenith smirked, as the giant Charizard behind her roared. It would be nice to battle pokemon that weren't Frankie's. "Ahh... A Challenger. It's been a long time since I've been issued a challenge in this place. Very well , then. My name is Zenith. I hope you recognize me as I've been here for a very long time. Anyways, formalities aside, I would like to battle you. Amelia, would you like to do so as well ?"

Amelia's mind was flooded with all types of dark thoughts about battling as soon as she was asked, with her own Hydreigon getting similar thoughts as a familiar dark aura surrounded them both, chants like 'To battle is to kill, To batttle is to maim, to test the will of Pokémon is one rightly slain!' appeared throughout her mind. Somehow both of them dispelled the demonic chanting, their auras becoming normal. She shook her head at both of their offers, nodding softly. "I-I'm sorry, but... I can't...". She said, and went ahead to a stopping point where she would be able to see the match but not.

Zenith cringed. He completely forgot about her dark powers. She was a big threat as it was before, and even when her other self was in better control, it's powerful nature was definitely a threat .As soon as she got the preparations ready, she would ask in a commanding yet kind voice "Please follow me trainer. And if you want to come as well, other man who I didn't get a chance to ask their name , feel free to do so as well. Both of you hold great promise, so I would like to eventually see where you two stand". She pointed to one of many spots. After the challenging trainer and the other trainer she just met would hopefully follow her, She placed her Spire Master key. As soon as she did, Frankie took over then, taking the mask off revealing her face, showing off a completely different disposition.

"Sweetie, it's time to battle. I-I'm sorry if this confuses you, but... Since you two are seemingly challenging us , it's only fair if we do the same. If you both want to challenge me, feel free to do so. Otherwise, Lily dear, please come out and say hello to our challenger ". Her Eevee, who looked a bit hesitant, was able to come out from her shoulder after looking at her trainer. Her eyes were soft but anywhere with good readings could tell this Eevee wasn't the average one, not by a long shot . It took a stance, before saying it's titular name, emitting an insane amount of pressure for otherwise a small little pokemon, implying the reserves of strength in this one Eevee was massive, like a mini tornado bursting forward.

"Please come at me with everything you have. I, in turn, will show you everything I have. It is my duty as a Spire Master" . Zenith was watching in spirit, wondering how Frankie would fare in one of her first ever competitive battles, as she only has fought against herself.

“Huh? You’re a Spire Master? Suppose my battle is gonna be crazy! Shade, let’s rumble!”
The Pidgeot was sent out, wings in a rapid flapping motion. He took a single glance and knew this Trainer was serious stuff. “I guess this starts when you send out your Pokemon! I’m not being impatient.”
(@The Legendary Trainer )

Frankie said " Yes I am. I already did. Eevee is my partner. So please, do your best " . She didn't even look at Eevee, but somehow knew what she wanted. Their silent bond was all Eevee needed to shout it's signature phrase. All of a sudden, a massive column of ice was in front of her. The Eevee charged up what looked to be an electric attack, before striking the ice column with an Iron Tail with such force the shards propelled towards the unsuspecting pokemon at immense speed, with each shard wrapped in electricity due to the previous attack. If one noticed a small glow was on her tail when it striked the Ice, infusing it with another move: Swift 'Swift Electric Ice Storm' , a command she issued due to their bond talking for them.

Lily shouted again , an massive column of. Vine showed up from the grown, easily rivaling a tree. Eevee climbed up it as the Seeds showered down. This was essentially an bullet hell to test the speed of the pokemon and their ability to adapt.

@Merciless Medic

Toph leapt onto her front hooves and slung her entire rear side around to slam into the houndoom, channeling all of her strength into the attack. There was only way Toph was going to go down and it was to drag Doom down with her.

“Turbo nows the time to test out a new special move use Horizons Charge!” Ajax called out, hoping that the new combo would work out how they had practiced. Turbo spun in the air and launched herself back toward the Thunderwave. Just before impact Turbo opened her mouth to release an amber energy which, due to Turbo’s immense speed, engulfed the scorching Pokémon. Turbo pierced through the thunder wave unscathed and continued toward the Gengar with break-neck speeds, her body still glowing with a rich amber energy.

(Hidden Power Ground, and Aerial ace. Speed boosted by Galewings)

Aria couldn't escape the Heavy Slam in time, taking a large chunk of damage. Though her Water-typing prevented the move from being super effective, the massive weight of Gigalith compared to her own made up for that.

However, Harmony wasn't about to let her teammate take two attacks in a row. Her eyes began to glow blue as she used Psychic, stopping the Charge Beam in its tracks and sending it right back at its sender.

"Aria, Liquidation!" Talia commanded.
Aria suddenly cloaked her body in a thick veil of water, lunging at the rock-type with alarming speed.

Neon pumped a fist in the air when the heavy slam hit.
But, he cringed as he saw Gigalith get hit by liquidation.
Alakazam wasn’t able to dodge the charge beam, but, thanks to light screen, the damage was greatly reduced.
Gigalith was greatly damaged by now, and Neon frowned.
Alakazam, Gigalith, and Neon all looked at each other and nodded.
“Alright, time for plan B!”
Alakazam used double team, then all the Alakazams used charge beam, the fake one’s didnt do damage, but they were still bright, which was the point.
The charge beams collided and made a blinding light.
“Alright Gigalith! Ruthless Rush! Signature Combo!”
Gigalith repeatedly stomped on the ground over and over, causing it to implode, and sharp rocks came out of the ground. (Earthquake and Stone Edge)
It then ran over to Harmony and Aria, which wasn’t fast, nor incredibly slow.

Meanwhile, Alakazam’s clones disappeared, and the real one secretly used protect, the light from the charge beams still being incredibly bright, and this was all happening relatively quickly.

Gigalith then began to glow, and it roared, and it freaking EXPLODED at least RELATIVELY close to Aria and Harmony, as it just ran over there. (Obviously Explosion.)

Harmony was quick to dodge, being able to fly and all. The Earthquake was useless anyway, and the Stone Edges couldn't reach high enough to hit the Flying-type. She could hardly see through the blinding light, but she was experienced enough to know what was going on.

Aria wasn't so lucky. She managed to keep out of range of the Earthquake and Stone Edge by propelling herself into the air with Hydro Pump once again, but came down too early and fell directly into the blast radius.

She was thrown across the field, now covered in several small scrapes and wounds. Talia's face flashed with worry, as she quivered slightly.
"Aria! Are you alright?" she called, concern evident in her voice.
The mermaid-like Pokemon struggled up, barely managing to stand. Suddenly, her eyes began glowing a deep blue, and a bright aura appeared around her as Torrent activated.
"Aria, Hydro Cannon!" Talia shouted.
Glaring at the two Pokemon before her, Aria stood up on both flippers. Without any delay, a colossal stream of water consumed the battlefield, boosted by Torrent. It flowed towards both Pokemon, making a loud rushing noise as it went. Aria collapsed from the stress, fainting, but the move kept going.

Gigalith had fainted, and Neon returned it to it’s Pokeball.
“Great job buddy! “
Neon closed his eyes and nodded.
He reached to his Pokeball belt, and pulled out a normal Pokeball.
“Alright buddy, time to show ‘em what we’re made of!”
He threw the Pokeball, and Incineroar popped out.
Incineroar roared and did a little pose.
It saw the Hydro Cannon and smirked, like it was looking forward to this.
It raised it’s hands up, and a ball of energy appeared, and it threw it at the Hydro Cannon, they collided and both were destroyed.(Focus Blast)
Neon and Incineroar both performed a pose in sync, then Incineroar rushed over to Harmony.
It jumped up, and it’s fists became covered in electricity, and it attempted to brutally slam them on Harmony, doing pretty decent damage if they were to land.( Thunder Punch)

Alakazam had been protected from the blast thanks to it’s protect, and it decided to help Incineroar out, and aimed yet another charge beam at Harmony, hopefully going better than last time.

Doom wasn't expecting the next moves to say the least. His paws were nowhere near the ground when the horse immediately turned. Even though the momentum was marginally lost, it didn't matter. Doom was sent to the side, landing on his back and rolling around. Shade watched as he was sent back and, with bated breath, she watched for movement. A struggle to get up. Anything. Anything at all.

But at least she saw his rib cage raise and lower, albeit quickly and shallow. He was down, but was he out?

Gar was not as lucky, but he wasn't going to stick around for long anyway. As the Talonflame combined his own attacks and rushed at the Mega Gengar, he focused on bringing down the Talonflame, to give vengeance for himself.

Destiny Bond.

As the Talonflame got close enough, close enough to hit him, Gar's eyes shone with blue. That's when Gar went down.

As the hit smashed him critically, a feeling was let out. It couldn't be seen, it couldn't be detected. But it could be felt. It left Gar's body, intent on taking down Turbo for Gar's loss. A light shone from Gar and he turned back to his Gengar form. His eyes were closed and his breathing was shallow, cuts and bruises littering his ghostly visage.

Then, a miracle happened. Doom was still up. Despite the combination of moves that should have knocked him out, he was now struggling to get up. The devotion he had for Shade, the look he gave her, said it all. He was doing this for her. Standing up for her in a fight that meant so much for them all. He looked over to see Gar was completely out. Then he looked to Toph. He was done trying to get in a Physical hit, not like it mattered now.

With a sliver of stamina left, still barely holding on, he brought in all the energy he could, all the energy he had left, to the front of his maw. A light appeared, only to erupt in a huge beam of pure, unbridled energy. Hyper Beam.

To say that they had fought like this was their last battle was an understatement.

Turbo was engulfed in a blue light before fainting “Bit of an illegal move there Shade. I thought you were better than that” Ajax called out “Toph, it is time. A final gamble to decide the result of this battle! Unstoppable battering ram!” Toph Turned slowly, tucked her head down and begun to charge, bright white energy begun to surround her as she did. Giga impact. The two super powered normal moves collided with a huge explosion, as the dust begun to settle Toph stood struggling her own attack offering some protection as she continued to advance on Doom. The hyper beam refracting at odd angles to carve deep trenches into the battlefield. Slowly Toph begun to move again, making ground as she continued her assualt. Pouring every once of her strength into the attack. As she drew closer and closer to Doom, the energy of the hyper beam intensified immensely. Once the two attacks sources finally met a huge explosion shattered the surrounding earth and sent a thick dust cloud flying in all directions.

Shade looked up to Ajax with a weary smile and shrugged her shoulders, yelling out nonchalantly. "Yea, but I didn't tell him to do that. But it is his signature thing to do when he wants an edge to win. Of course, I'll make sure to use a different Pokemon next time, so Destiny Bond won't be a thing."

As Toph got hit by the Hyper Beam and she advanced forward step by step, Doom was starting to get worried. He couldn't see how far away she was, but he knew that she was getting closer due to the bits of light arcing away from her. When they both got close enough where he could see her body, it was already too late.

An explosion occurred and it sent Doom back, tumbling about as the last remaining energy he had was exhausted then and there. His body fell limp on the outskirts of the ruined battlefield. Embers and rocks and craters were strewn about the field. He was done.

The referee's voice appeared, saying the obvious. Ajax won. Of course he did, he was a Spire Master. If this were a full battle, he'd still win. If it was a 1 on 1 against her Gengar, he'd still win. It's who gets knocked out first, so Destiny Bond wouldn't save her there. But her Pokemon fought well. Though, the lack of guidance was starting to get to her. She needed to have her Pokemon do more, especially in a double battle. Have moves to use with each other, so they may know what to do together.

Shade walked up onto the battered field and walked up to Doom, since Gar was already up and was floating towards his downed comrade. When they both made it, Shade put one of her hands on Gar's stomach - her hand now on the line between corporeal and incorporeal for a moment - and her other hand on Doom's head, feeling the warmth from the fight radiating off of him.

They both did good. No, better than good. She gave both of her Pokemon a kiss on their foreheads. Doom woke up to that and he whined up at her with sad eyes, but saw that prideful look on her face all the same. He looked at her confused until he realized that she was proud for the steps they had taken to get to this point.

They may be close enough to be considered Tier 3 if they continued at this rate.

With that, Doom slowly struggled to get up, but did so anyway and, together, the three made their way to Ajax, their smiles radiating pride as they did so, despite the fact that they had lost. They had learned some things that they were going to get ironed out and Ajax helped them to see that.

"Thank you, Ajax for that wonderful battle. I thank Toph and Turbo, as well. They did absolutely wonderful. Although, sorry for that cheap shot with Destiny Bond. It's been hard trying to get him out of that reflex, since it may come in handy if we were in any real danger," she said sheepishly. Gar just chuckled with a mischievous look in his eyes as he looked up at Ajax. He felt no remorse from doing that. It gave him cheap pleasure to knock out a Spire Master's Pokemon. Of course, Shade didn't want that, and he will try his best to use Explosion next time instead of Destiny Bond.

Toph slowly rose to her feet, barely able to stand. Akira, Ajax’s Roserade raced forward showering the draft horse Pokémon in a lime green energy (Life dew).
“That was an excellent battle Shade. I understand Gar’s instinct to use Destiny Bond, however in official battles I believe that move is actually illegal. Regardless I am very impressed by your performance, so much so I want to mentor you. You and your Pokémon highlighted some real potential. Especially you Gar, that smoke and mirrors combo was excellent” Ajax smiled as he walked his way onto the field, stopping briefly to return Turbo to her pokeball.

Shade was barely able to avoid the first combo, with a small bit grazing his wing. “Yup. Definitely a Spire Master.”, Amara thought. Seeing the seeds, it gave the two a quick idea. “Shade, rally them back!” Upon the words, he shot up with a powerful speed and his wings glowed a elegant blue, hoping the seeds could get knocked back, maybe cause damage.
(Fly, Wing Attack.)

The Seeds were knocked back at her Eevee. Frankie was definitely impressed to say the very least. Not only was her attack dodged, it was essentially countered at the very last second. She knew this was to be interesting. Their bond was strong that her Eevee , Lily, immediately understood what to do. She launched herself at him, using a quick attack to avoid the Seeds but one did graze her, but due to it being her own attack didn't affect her too much.

But then , before she could reach the winged adversary completely it landed on the ground. While it was running, multiple reflects sprouted from around the ground at least in the ground . An impressive combination of Reflect on it's feet, they were moving immensely fast as they reflected their movements through the reflect barrier, ramping their speed massively per attack. She then bounced off each of these reflects, amplifying her speed immensely as if it were a stat boost in Speed per every time, appearing as if she was merely afterimages. She then issued a command through their bond after the 5th time, having speed rivaled if they had just accomplished two decades. With monstrous speed, she jumped instantly at the winged pokemon, using the same combo move as before to see if their speed can keep up with the need speed they got from multiple reflects.

The day had come for Sasha to walk up into the spire. His time had come to start this challenge. He didn't know who he would battle, as he was pretty clueless as to who was here. He never was a researcher and he didn't pay attantion to many details that made it a tedious unnessesary effort.
He walked down the hall where they branched into individual stadiums and he had heard many battles raging in most of the stadiums.
"Should I wait for them to finish and battle one of the people that just battled, or should I go find somone to battle with" Sasha thought. He thought of Ben at that moment and thought that since he hadn't seen him in a while, they might battle just for the fun of it. But he knew, he was here to compete like him, not to be the one battling everyone who challenged. That didn't seem like him. Maybe I should be a spire master...no, no I have a dojo to run at Nimbasa..although there are alot of people there who do take over while I'm gone... He thought about this for a while, the noise of battles in the background. He sat there, thinking, waiting, and reviewing all of his plans as he awaited his moment to shine.

I don't know what they're planning, but we have the edge in a waiting game - right? "Morgan!" Edward called out, "Focus, predict, and strike!" He was originally hoping to have the Dusknoir attack Glaceon's shelter, but when the Glaceon started popping up out of holes, the plan still remained relevant. Here's hoping we can win this one... It would be rough to go 0-2 on the first day.

Focus. Keeping a close eye on the Glaceon, Morgan began channeling additional energy [Calm Mind]. Predict. She closed her eyes, and the wash of energy flowed outwards as she sensed where her foe was, and where she would be [Future Sight]. Strike. Finally, confidant in where Glaceon would show up next, the Dusknoir twisted that energy into a Shadow Ball and slammed it downwards.

Shade waited for Ajax to say something between the lines of "congratulations" or something else along the lines of keeping her Gengar's Destiny Bond in check. What she wasn't expecting was for Ajax to be impressed, much less mentor her. What? She didn't register this at first, her face stuck in what looked to be her gears turning in her head, processing what he just said. As soon as it clicked, her eyes brightened up with joy, glistening with happiness, as Gar and Doom were all giving smiling faces to Ajax and Shade.

She was going to get better. Despite the fact that Gar did an illegal move, but that didn't matter. He understood why. Gar felt absolutely thrilled at the fact that he did so well, feeling a warming wave budding in his chest from the given compliment.

Shade was practically bouncing on the balls of her feet now, her smile so big, she can rival the likes of Joker. "Thank you so much, Ajax! It's a great honor!"

She realized what she was doing was pretty kiddish, so she cleared her throat as she stopped, but that big goofy grin on her face didn't go away, and neither was the excitement lessened.

Hearing the good news, Chu, Shade's Alolan Raichu, burst from her PokeBall to give everyone hugs and, in her new burst of energy from the happiness, used Wish on her comrades, the twinkling bits of energy sparkling around her before they traveled to the two Pokemon, sprinkling health and energy among them as two wishing stars passed by overhead. Of course, that didn't ease the soreness in their muscles from the moves they used, but it was enough to give them energy again.

Shade returned Doom and Gar while her Raichu floated about next to her, squeaking with glee. "Thank you so much, Ajax. I can't thank you enough. Can we train together tomorrow?" Arceus, she sounded like a giddy child.

Meanwhile, Glacier wasn't as lucky. As he was popping up, trying to surprise the Ghost-Type, he hit a snag. Well, more like a Shadow Ball to the face as he was going back up through the tunnels. He fell back and was dizzy for a bit. Now he was in the tunnels, unable to be seen when looking in, since he fell back aways.

The referee spoke out, saying that Edward was the winner. Eva couldn't believe it. She walked up to the tunnel, peeked inside, and found her Glaceon, laying there, unconscious. She returned him and kissed his PokeBall. Tears streamed from her eyes as she felt anger welling up inside her.

She didn't even want to look at the winner, much less congratulate him.

After a bit of calming herself down, she stood up. She had plastered an empty smile on her face, but her eyes were intense with anger and sadness. She quickly said "good battle" before leaving the battlefield super quickly. With all these people watching, she lost. How could she lose so quickly? Her first battle too! She mentally cursed herself as her fake smile turned into a frown, then her lip and chin trembled.

As she made it to the nearest Pokemon Center, she gave Glacier's and Umbra's PokeBalls to the nurse, who gladly took them. She then angrily sat down with a huffing and buried her face in her hands. Up to this point, she was practically beating herself up, and then projecting that onto Edward. The good bit of her said they had both fought well, but she didn't want to hear it. She still lost, and her first battle, no doubt.

Her Eevee, Eve, felt her sadness and forced herself out of her PokeBall. She looked to see her trainer crying, so she curled up between her lap and her head and let her cry into her furry mane.

Oh, how she felt so horrible.

Clearing his throat, Winston clutched at the pokeball on his belt, his honchkrow. Reluctantly, Winston sent out the pokeball and commanded it to use fly. He knew he had to do this, he wasn't ready for the commitment of such a... competitive environment. As the honchkrow used fly, he leapt aboard and headed into the cloud-ridden sky.

(OOC: Due to inactivity, I have written myself out. Goodbye)

"Thank you." said Ben as he left his pokemon to the nurse.
He sat down and waited for his pokemon to heal from their training. It wasn't anything serious, but better safe than sorry.
As he waited, he noticed a girl with her face in an eevee's mane, presumably hers.
Upon closer inspection, it looked like she was crying.
Is she okay?
Ben wondered Should I help her?
He really wanted to help, but did she want help?
Might as well try
Ben stood and walked slowly to the girl, as to not frighten her. "Um, are you okay? You look sad. Is everything alright? If you don't want me to intrude, I could leave you alone." he said in a soft but friendly voice.

Along day of training finished strong as new combos had been learned and everyone of his pokemon had so much fun training with him. It was such a great time. Of course training took alot out of everyone, including him. He decided to go to the pokécenter to heal his team bfore he took an early night's sleep in his bed so he could be well rested for tomorrow's battling. Walking into the center he saw his old rival Ben! He expected it but wasn't quite sure he was ever gonna run into him. "Hey Ben how you.......doing" he trailed off as he realized he was talking to another girl who seemed like she was just talking. Does Ben have a girlfriend now? It seems like he made her upset. Should I go over there to see what's going on or should I just heal my pokemon and leave, maybe I should wait though...WHY DO DECISIONS HAVE TO BE SO HARD!!!
Did he say that out loud? He tended to do that at times so he didn't want anyone to be startled. He didn't want to take any chances. He continued on his way to the nurse asking her if she could heal all 12 of his pokemon.
"12 pokemon?! You sure have a handful!" the nurse replied.
"Trained them all and have a bond with each individual one" he bragged a bit.
He turned to see what was going on with Ben, but he hesitated, he didn't know what to do. Standing there he waited for his pokemon to be healed.

Eva was busy sniffling and crying to hear anybody enter, but Eve was on the look out. The Eevee watched as a man came up to see if she was okay. The dark eyes of the brown vixen held fast on Ben as he approached. Her attention was also taken up by a guy who walked in, yelled something, and went back to the nurse's desk. He wasn't a threat to her trainer's dignity.

A rumbling could be heard from the very recesses of Eve's chest as she let out a Growl, her teeth baring at the man who dared came close to her trainer. Her queen.

Eva heard her Eevee growl and she looked up to see a strange man there, with someone else behind him watching them. With a wet, red face, she said in an authoritative voice that was moderate in volume, but spoke waves of future aggression from further provocation. "Leave. Me. Alone. I don't know you, so don't bother giving me pity or sympathy. I don't need it, especially from random strangers."

After that, she buried her face into Eve's now wet mane, but Eve didn't care. She calmly sat there on Eva's lap in a look of comfort. Despite the warning growl from earlier, she was quite relaxed. That usually meant that, despite her physical composure now, she can quickly spring into action when needed.

Can't she get some peace and quiet? She just lost her first fight here!

Ben was taken aback by the harsh response "O-Oh, okay. Ummm, good luck with whatever you're sad about." he would've pressed further, but that eevee's growl gave him the message to leave before things get ugly.
"Umm, Ben, is it?" said the nurse, "You're pokemon are healed"
"Ah, thanks!" he said brightly, no use use worrying about that sad girl now, she'll hopefully get over it.
As he walked back, he noticed someone.
Is that... Lonewolf?Looks like it.
"Hey man, nice to see you. I guess it's not surprising that you were invited here." he smiled "I've been invited too, what a small world this is, huh?"

"Girlfriend?" Ben said as he got his pokeballs, sounding confused.
He looked over at the girl, then the penny dropped.
"Oh! No, no it's nothing like that. I don't even know her that well." he said while waving his hands.
"She just looked sad, and I wanted to see if I could help. Turns out she doesn't want any, at least from me." he smiled sheepishly.
"It's a shame, I'd try a little harder, but her eevee would probably bite my head off. And being decapitated kinda sucks." he said, shrugging.

"Same, but I'll be around tomorrow."
Oh, hey Lucario, come here." Ben called his pokemon, who had just gone out of the pokecenter door. The lucario looked towards the crying girl, sensing her sadness, but Ben simply shook his head.
"Anyway, I think I'll walk around the place a bit before tucking in. I'll see you later, and " He flashed a look at the girl "good luck to both of you."

"Cya Ben." Sasha shouted as he walked out of the door.
"Your pokemon are healed Sasha." The nurse chimed.
Sasha then picked up his pokemon, putting them in his utility belt and letting lucario and greninja walk with him.
"You sure you'll be fine?" he asked the girl.

Ben walked around the place, looking around and planning his next course of action.
A battle would be nice, but would he really need to visit the pokecenter so soon?
What else would he do? Other than wear down his already worn shoes with all this walking.
He moved toward the loud explosions and cries were, presumably where some battles are being done, and sat down.
After asking his styler rotom to bring up a video of the opening ceremony, Ben asked Lucario "Notify me if anybody interesting passes by K'?
The Lucario nodded and sat next to his trainer, partially focused on the video and partially focused on the auras around the duo

Any normal Eevee would seemingly cower at such a direct assault. Instead, without even so much as an afterthought, it charged on ahead, making it appear as a blur to most who saw besides perhaps the other trainer she was batting against, easily rivaling the Quick Attack in speeds. Their minds were linked so no words were necessary as their bond transcended mere words. But, within that bond, a command was issued. Before the two clashed, an Reflect Barrier was erected right before the two clashed towards one another, erected mere seconds. If the Pokémon and Trainer could react, another command was issued to the Pokémon in case of a counter. Due to the momentum, and power of the other pokemon if he hit the reflect at such force, the odds are all of the knockback would be sent directly at the opposing pokemon.

If this were to be successful and any openings were made, she would say within the bonds a powerful command , Hidden Reserves, which combined Last Resort with Double Edge, charging forward at break neck speeds. While not the most eloquent of attacks, anyone with a brain would know that if this hit , massive damage would be given to all involved.

Eva kept her head in her Eevee's mane, using her as a shield against other people. When the young man from earlier asked if she was okay, Eve growled at him, clearly disinterested at any sort of hidden pity directed towards her trainer at the moment.

Besides, Eva lost a big match. Why can't anyone see that she needed to be left alone? Eve just looked back at her trainer's drooped head, her rainbow hair vibrant in the eight colors of Eevee and its evolutions. She could feel tears staining her luxurious coat, matting it up a little.

This loss really broke her hard.

What broke Evangeline from her position was a sweet voice from the counter, alerting her that her Pokemon were healed and ready. Glacier and Umbra erupted out of their PokeBalls and ran over to Eva clearly upset, as well, as evident by their furrowed brows, their ears laying back, and the sad, glintless look in their eyes. They both hopped on the bench on each side of her and nuzzled her sides and arms.

Eva could feel the cold fur nuzzling her on her left, while she could feel something nuzzling her on her right, with the soft glow of her yellow light pouring through her hair that shielded her teary eyes from the populace around her.

That's when she walked in.

Sheila was starting to get bored and wanted to see what the competitors were like. That's when she walked in on a young girl, surrounded by an Eevee, Umbreon, and Glaceon. She was hunched over on her Eevee's body, with the Glaceon on her left and her Umbreon on her right, trying to console her. Walking over, she vaguely remembered her from the newspapers in Galar when she was back home. She had beaten the Galar Champion with her Eevee and their Evolutions. Interested, she walked over.

The Eevee glared at her, until she realized there was something odd about her. Did she recognize them? Why did she exude so much power and finesse?

That's when Eva looked up, and her glistening eyes from the tears widen in shock and surprise. No... It can't be...

Sheila?

She hastily wiped the tears from her eyes before looking up at her with astonishment clearly written on her face, the agape mouth and the blankness and absence of thought.

She was being checked on by the Spire Master, herself. Or so she thought. Maybe she was here to congratulate her on her first battle. Or maybe she was here to check out the competition. Or maybe she was here to gloat on her loss in her first match.

Eva, shutting her mouth and quickly getting defensive - yet couldn't help the sense of pride and excitement bubbling within her to meet such a celebrity - said, "Oh, h-hi. You must be Sheila. I read about you in the papers before I went on my journey. You beat the Galar Champion at the time without Dynamaxing. That was truly incredible. I watched it all on my TV."

Sheila smiled. Great, a fan, but one who isn't fangirling and fainting and asking for an autograph. No, recognition of her skills was what Sheila was wanting and Sheila knew that this girl did appreciate the training she put in her Pokemon.

Eva, now feeling stupid for not introducing herself, simply chuckled and scratched the back of her neck nervously before continuing. "Oh, sorry. I uh... My name is Evangeline, but most people call me Eva."

"Pretty name, Evangeline," Sheila responded. It was a gruff, wild Galarian accent, nothing like Eva's refined Galarian accent.

The Spire Master smiled before offering some advice. "Well, seems like you were having a rough time here. Don't worry, we all did getting here. My first match, I lost. But don't worry. You'll get there with the rest of us, and you may give a Battle Master a run for their money. Now, don't give up and keep fighting and training to where you want to be. Your Pokemon are capable, I can see it in them. But don't let them down because of a simple loss. Learn from your mistakes, make new combinations of moves, and keep fighting."

With that, Sheila nodded in farewell and walked off. Eva was completely entranced. Wow, the Spire Master really thought she could do it. Rise up. Well, she wasn't going to disappoint. Her three vulpine Pokemon looked just as excited as she was, and they both chittered in agreement to get better. Eva nodded, returned her Pokemon, and stood up. Renewed in her energy to keep fighting, she left the Pokemon Center and tried to find Edward. Maybe he was still at the battlefield.

Meanwhile, Sheila chuckled at Eva's reaction to her sudden appearance as she played the memory back like a tape. It was funny, and she knew she struck determination in her to get better. Hopefully, she commits.

She walked along the battling area, ignoring the battles happening around her before coming up to a battle with another Spire Master and a Participant duking it out. Interested, she stood there and watched.

"... Interesting. Even in the face of danger a cool head is formed. You are no ordinary trainer. But do not think victory is yours ". In response Eevee was given a very interesting command. She cloaked her tail in Iron Tail and the Exclusive Move Baddy Bad, alongside it's rushing move, putting forth all her momentum. The result was unfortunately, while both clearly collided, Lily was sent flying the opposite due to the immense momentum both pokemon had, but due to only the tail receiving such an injury and protected by Baddy Bad, only half damage was done to it.

Eevee was stumbling slightly , but shook it's head and said it's valiant signature cry. It wasn't beaten.
