National Part, Johto (June 8th)
Seemed all his efforts to ease her worry, and his own, had been for not as she suddenly got a news update from Galar and it seemed to not be so great. Seemed her father, a top 20 trainer int his WCS had been involved with others in a battle against the infamous Hunter J. Desmond had not been super up to date on foreign affairs but he had known Hunter J well enough to know whatever she had been involved in was bad news.

"Oh t-that doesn't sound good..." Desmond mused, least Emma's father had help in the form of this Arcadia guy, perhaps he had been enough to help get Hunter J off them. Desmond merely hoped the police could get involved in this sooner than later now that it had been reported.

Politoed, sensing duress from both sides, hopped over and gave a hug to each trainer as it had been concerned for them.

Emma had seen the Politoed, and gave a small smile, Drampa kept an eye on his trainer.

"Thank you Politoed," Emma whispered, "Let's get moving, I just need time to clear my head."

It was at that point she decided to get moving. She will keep an eye for updates, as she traveled towards Goldenrod City.

"Hey, Desmond, you ready to go?"

Emma slowed down her pace as Drampa looked behind him, then back ahead.

Thursday, June 9 – Motostoke, Galar Region

It was rather optimistic to try and Sword Dance before attacking, but as Hawlucha closed in on J the Hunter made an abrupt decision. She pulled on Salamence’s horns, signaling it to abort its descent while calling for another move.

“Salamence, «Haze»!”

Filling the air with a thick haze, Salamence used the cover to bank out of Hawlucha’s way. The thick haze had cast a large, cloudy shadow over the ground and completely blotted out Salamence’s own shadow, effectively releasing it from Spirit Shackle.

Concealed with the smoke, J pondered for a moment. A four vs one was awful odds for her, she couldn’t even get off an attack without the others interrupting her. She needed a better strategy for tackling them...but, she believes she had just the thing...

Pulling into the air, J stayed hidden within the haze as she whispered an order to her Salamence. Hidden by the haze, the Salamence covered itself in a «magic coat» and waited for their opponent’s next move.

National Park, Johto (June 8th)

Politoed seemed to hug happily after it released itself from the Pokeball, and once Emma seemed good enough to move on Desmond returned his companion as he passed a nod to her.

"Yeah, I am..." Desmond answered as he had began to follow Emma as a clearing of the head seemed to be what they all needed. He had not expected to meet someone and travel with everyone on his venture to collect Pokemon photography, but as he had his back around his back he figured some company would go a way for the both of them.

Ron, Motostoke, Galar.

"Alright, time to spring back into action."

Ron watched as the Haze was set up again, hiding their enemy inside and keeping them from knowing where exactly the dragon could be located. Sadly, Hunter J did have an idea of where they were and was probably using the opportunity to set up her next move. Ron would do the same. No need to try and increase stats, instead a good defense and offense.

"Evanes, take a break. Bizkit, Linkin, let's go!"

Ron threw both Pokeballs, releasing a Blastoise and Poliwrath. Both water Pokemon gave each other a nod as they saw they were teaming up and began looking around at the area around them. Ron gave them a few seconds to take in their environment and then proceeded to give them orders.

"Alright, we're going with Rain Dance first!"

The Poliwrath nodded. He began to move his hands in a circular motion, which seemed to cause dark clouds to gather above them before a pouring rain being released around the area. Ron knew that dragon probably had a way to take advantage of the rain, but he was going to gamble on it and try and use it better.

Lara Brook - June 9th - Budew Inn, Motostoke, Galar

Lara took a second to think about her response. Perhaps it was still the want to try and repay Nicole for saving her that compelled her to try to provide her with a serious answer.

"Hm.. Well, I really like photography. I did some freelance work along side a few one off jobs here and there, but it's not really the most stable lifestyle. I had my own personal portfolio as well as some experience and decided I wanted to try and apply for a more 'proper' job while still kind of working with something I'm passionate about," The red haired woman explained. She might've been underselling how much she truly enjoyed it, but Lara didn't want gush out and nerd about her hobbies to someone she'd met just recently. If anything she worried that she'd just bore Nicole out of her mind.

Thursday, June 9 – Motostoke, Galar Region

The trainers’ next move was exactly as J predicted, in fact, it was even a little better than she’d predicted. She had figured her opponents would try to remove her Haze with a move, which was exactly why she’d also set up Magical Coat hidden by the Haze. Now, her chance to capitalize on her preparation came.

As J hovered within the haze, Acacia and Ron sprang into action. The greyed sky and darkened clouds spilled rain as an electric terrain sparked across the grassland and a sweeping wind swept towards the haze. Then...magic coat activated. Psychic powers swiftly reversed the winds, sending the defog right back at the group of trainers.

The situation couldn’t have been any more perfect. The winds of defog had been reversed and would tear at her opponents, restricting their movements and evasiveness. On top of that, defog had also removed the electric terrain. Allowing J to capitalize on the earlier rain at her leisure.

“Salamence, «Hurricane»!”

She targeted the pesky Decidueye, sending a violent burst of wind to confound the bird while it was still caught off-guard by its expectations failing as it shot arrows into the haze.

J suppressed a smirk as she order Salamence to re-position itself for another offensive.

Ron, Motostoke, Galar.

Ron watched as Acacia got countered by the dragon. They were beginning to pile on, with Acacia basically using his whole team and combining Fiery and Ron's, they had a small army against the one Salamence. However, Hunter J kept pressing on, not even making an attempt to escape and considering how strong her Pokemon was, she could do so anytime. So, why was she still battling?

"Something isn't right..." Ron spoke out loud, but there wasn't anything to do meanwhile besides to keep attacking. "I expected a lot better from mister top trainer." He told Acacia, "Guess I'll have to try and force that thing out of the Haze."

"Linkin, Bizkit, just like we practiced, Rapid Spin go!"

The Blastoise nodded and took a running start before jumping towards the Poliwrath. The tortoise Pokemon disappeared into his shell as the Poliwrath caught him and then tossed him as hard as he could in the direction of the cloud of Haze. Once he was launched, Linkin started spinning allowing him to move in a curved motion, looking to make a U Turn around the Salamence.

"Bombs Away!"

As the Blastoise made his way around the dragon, he show three Water Pulse, cannon ball like projectiles firing from the dragon's right, behind and left. Upon finishing, he could land a few feet away from Ron and Bizkit.

Hawlucha got thrown from the Hurricane, landing right back at where he started, a little dazed, but not out yet. Firey knew that if Hawlucha took too many attacks, it would go down, but he had a recovery move on this Pokemon, and he had to use it or end up like Gyarados. Thankfully, the other trainers had gotten Salamence's attention while he came up with a new plan.

"Hawlucha, Roost, watch for Salamence's movement."

Feathers appeared around Hawlucha as he calmed down and gained some energy back. The Fighting and Flying type prepared for Salamence's next move.

He had not expected to meet someone and travel with everyone on his venture to collect Pokemon photography, but as he had his back around his back he figured some company would go a way for the both of them.
Emma had been moving, as she looked to Desmond, her Drampa had been watching the area as a small figure popped into the path they were on.

"Axew!" The small, green creature called out.

"An Axew?" Emma asked, "Drampa, make sure Desmond is okay, Sliggoo, let's see if you can help translate what's going on."

Emma was confused, an Axew was not something she expected to be here, maybe it was lost, or released or bred here, that was her working theory on the Axew. Sliggoo looked at the Dragon type, who immediately charged up a Taunt, Sliggoo's eyes glowed red, meaning the Kalosian native Dragon type could not use status moves.

"Use a Dragon Pulse, I don't know it's intentions." Emma called out, "Desmond watch out!"

Route to Goldenrod City, Johto (June 8th)
The first impulse Desmond had when the random Axew had appeared in front of them was to jump back which given Drampa had moved close to "comfort" him had only reinforced this response. Still, he had managed to avoid a scream which allowed him to preserve some dignity as Emma had taken charge and Politoed released itself from its Pokeball.

"Politoed!"

Politoed seemed to sense danger, and as Emma tried to use Sliggo to understand what was going on it declared an attack which nearly caused Desmond to drop his camera.

"S-shit just my lucky day!" Desmond cursed as Politoed moved by Sliggo as if to offer aid if it needed it. Oh great, another battle this was just...just peachy Desmond sighed to himself.

Thursday, June 9 – Motostoke, Galar Region

Daggers of Ice and pulses of water passed through the air where Salamence used to be. J wasn’t surprised these trainers would pounce, tracing the path of her hurricane to track her, but that was exactly why she had re-positioned immediately after attacking. Even though she seemed to be thoroughly kicking their collective asses, the truth was that her Salamence simply didn’t have the energy required to clap that many cheeks.

Fortunately, winning was never her objective...but that didn’t mean she intended to go-down easy.

While Acacia’s Blastoise provided healing to his Pokemon, it had become J’s next target.

“Salamence, use «Psych Up».”

Once she copied Blastoise’s stat changes then she’d be able to go on the offensive once more.

Ron, Motostoke, Galar.

"Looks like she plans on hiding inside that Haze as long as possible."

Ron looked up at the dark cloud above them where the enemy should be hiding while his Blastoise landed safely near his team. Trying to shoot it in the dark was not going to be helpful and the other two pro trainers seemed a bit lost as to what to do next. Taking the lead, Ron returned his two Pokemon and sent out the next one.

From the Luxury Ball emerged a Raichu. The electric mouse smacked her cheeks with her paws playfully and let out a joyful cry before shaking her head and looking around the area. Despite the situation, she seemed thrilled and happy to just be part of the moment.

"Marley, focus girl. There's a big dragon in that black cloud up there, I need ya to fish it out with Discharge, can you do that for me?"

The Raichu's eyes gleamed with joy as she listened to Ron's instructions. Afterwards, she turned towards the sky where the enemy would be. She nodded as sparks began to fly from her cheeks. She curled up as she gathered energy and then jumped into the air, releasing a big wave of electricity towards the Haze. It wasn't big enough to cover the entire thing, but staying anywhere near the middle would probably be a direct hit.

Nicole Newman, June 9th, Budew Drop Inn, Motostoke, Galar

Nicole listened carefully as she let the beads in her plushie roll between her fingers. "A portfolio? May I see it? It sounds like you put a lot of work into it." The woman asked, genuinely curious in what the red-haired woman could do with her camera. "I tried to get a proper job myself, but nothing really stuck aside from being a lifeguard at Undella Bay. It was more of a part-time job than anything else though, as no one swam there in the winter. I'm not super big on water anyway, I prefer the air."

Crossing her legs, Nicole leaned back as she looked out of the window. "Looks like a nasty fight up there, hope everyone is safe."

Thursday, June 9 – Giant’s Seat, Galar Region

Amidst the throes of desperation, the character of a man could be revealed. The weak caved and lost themselves to their circumstances while the strong might bend and buckle but would never break. Successful trainers rose against the odds to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Esther watched with bated breath as the coalition of trainers faced off against Hunter J just across the screen. The battle had been intense, far more than anything the Oblivian had ever experienced, except perhaps the worst of the Blood Wing’s rampages.

With J and her Salamence hidden behind a thick haze and the coalition’s previous efforts at removing the fog being fruitless, Esther couldn’t fathom any way the group could safely neutralize the threat. Keyword, safely.

Safety was evidently the last thing the punk trainer had in mind, though his words weren’t captured his actions were—orders were given and his Raichu acted upon them, releasing the Discharge to end all discharges.

Esther recoiled as a blinding flash of electricity engulfed at least half the haze cloud and moments later came the deafening crash of thunder. When she’d regained her senses, Esther boggled at the screen; the man’s solution had been simple—nuke it; any allies in the vicinity be damned!

Apparently, all the top trainers really were a little bit insane.

Esther couldn’t see how the other trainer's hand handled the sudden and unpredictable friendly fire since the cameras had focused on J and Salamence. It paid to be a little risky; the poacher and her dragon were hit, drifting to the ground in crippled flight. Electrical power clung to them fiercely, the aftereffects of discharge leaving them paralyzed.

It seemed like J was on the ropes, if only they could seal the opportunity to finish her.

Aldon Charlton, The Silent King, June 10, Friday - , Johto

Aldon had made his way to the Ilex Forest where he could continue his journey. Though now mostly without a party of his own. Skol, his ever faithful slowpoke by his side, ready to handle whatever forces in the woods come their way.

The Ilex forest seemed pretty dark. Little light shined down from the treeline above head. It was almost like being in a cave except a lot more bugs. Oh dear.

He walked down the path noting all the path divergences. Foliage grew across the ground making it easily possible to lose track of the pathway. Aldon paid careful attention to ensure he didn't lose sight of where he was headed. Skol had other plans and walked straight through a shrub. A sleeping spinarak unknowingly lie on Skol's head as they headed through the treeline. Aldon went to gently knock the spider off Aldon, in which the spider awoke and jumped on Aldon's face. Aldon shouted then frantically began trying to grab the spider which it used its web slinging to pull itself into a nearby tree away from the odd duo.

Wiping and cleaning his face, Aldon looked at Skol and was about to express his disdain for being thrown off the main path when he realized it was a waste of time. Skol clearly wasn't paying attention. He was staring at some sort of dirty old shrine. Wait what? The shrine had plants grown over it. Likely forgotten as it didn't seem maintained anymore. Aldon wondered just how old it was. In a moment it almost felt like he was being watched. Aldon wasted no time trying to convince Skol to move on and go. Aldon wasn't gonna stick around to find out.

Eventually Aldon would somehow get lucky and find himself back on the proper path. Surely the exit would be near, and hopefully they weren't headed the wrong way. Back to Azalea Town. That would suck.

"Come on out Bolly!" Aldon said sending out his baltoy. The clay doll pokemon spun and wobbled. And ever so slightly bending in a particular direction as it spun.

"Looks like north is that way! Thanks, bud!" Aldon said before continuing his path. He left Bolly out of its pokeball for now to stretch its legs er.... leg? Needle? Point? He let it enjoy the scenery until they arrived to the next city.

Ron, Motostoke, Galar.

Finally, the opening he had been looking for. He had to risk it all, but the real crime would've been to keep letting Hunter J flying around with an opportunity to escape. Ron would apologize to anybody hurt upon the impact later, now he needed to seize the one change he had to get any intel on Team Rocket. That meant, he couldn't let Hunter J crash.

"Evanes, let's go!"

The Skamory emerged from the Level Ball while Marley the Raichu returned to her Luxury Ball. Ron got a running start as his Skamory spread her wings and prepared for flight. He jumped on to her back while she took off, using Agility to move towards the target as soon as possible. With one hand he held on to Evanes while he leaned to the side, the Skamory tilting her body sideways to allow her trainer to reach for Hunter J with his free hand. The Salamence would be fine if he hit the ground, probably just cause him to faint, which would be ideal, but the famous poacher was human after all.

Ron reaches as far as he could, reaching Hunter J's arm, if he managed to grab on to her, his plan was to fly away from the police and trainers, far enough to question her without anyone interrupting attempting to arrest her before he got the information he needed.

Brian Killian - Trainer rank: 267
June 10th - Wild Area, Galar Region

The Gigantamax Drednaw roarded loudly as it began to fall forward, all four Pokemon quickly jumped back to avoid the impact, but the moment Drednaw's front legs hit the ground, an intense tremor began to travel towards the four Pokemon, Zander's eyes widened as he knew exactly what this was: G-Max Stonesurge. "Everyone watch out!" He called out to everyone. "Block it!" Brian and Eric said, their respective Pokemon each took a defensive stance. "Counter with Solar Beam!" Heather called out to Whimsicott who began to glow with a yellow light, if it wasn't for the Sunny Day she cast earlier, the charge would have been much longer, a bright golden beam shot out from Whimsicott directly at the tremor as a giant gush of water shot out from the ground.

Brian smiled at Heather for her way of thinking. "Well done." He praised, Heather gave Brian a bright smile while Eric scoffed, but smirked when he saw his Dynamax band briefly glow. "Alright, time to turn the tables!" He said and began to return Grimmsnarl to his Poke ball, the moment he was returned. "Let's show 'em what we're made of, Grimmsnarl!" His Poke ball began to grow bigger and bigger, the trainer briefly struggled from the extra weight before he spun a full three hundred and sixty degrees, the momentum allowed him to throw the Poke ball far enough away from the group.

"Dynamax!!!" He shouted out as the Poke ball opened, his Grimmsnarl emerged once again only to suddenly grow bigger and bigger just as his Poke ball did, he didn't stop growing until he was the same size as the Drednaw who glared at his enlarged opponent. Brian smirked when he saw the power of Dynamaxing with his own eyes before he looked back at his opponent. "Max Knuckle!" Eric roared just as Grimmsnarl did and looked up to see a giant fist emerge from the ceiling above and hurtle down towards the Gigantamax Drednaw, the giant turtle Pokemon recoiled in pain and get down on to his right knee while the rest of the party's Pokemon briefly glowed orange.

"Nice, looks like that move gave us a lil' boost in power." Zander explained. "Then let's hit him with everything we've got!" Brian said as he held the tip of his hat while his other hand was held out as if he signaled a charge. "Close Combat!" He commanded, Gallade dashed forward and jumped up on to Drednaw's left knee to deliver a flurry of blows, this caused Drednaw to fall forwards. "Drain Punch!" Zander commanded as Mienshao dashed past Gallade the moment he landed and jumped up to hit Drednaw directly in the face as it was in the midst of falling.

"Solar Beam!" Heather yelled as Whimsicott was enveloped in the same golden light as before and unleashed another powerful beam of light, one that seemed to really damage the Rock and Water type as the impact created a cloud of smoke. When the smoke cleared, the Drednaw was unable to get up from all the damage it took, Eric and Zander both smirked at this chance before they looked at each other.

"Lemmie guess, you still wanna get that Drednaw?" Zander asked with a look of distrust, most likely still sour about the argument they had before the raid. "At first, yes, but after seeing how weak it was, I don't think it's worth adding to my team." Eric said and looked away, Brian simply closed his eyes and slowly shook his head upon hearing Eric's comment, Heather rolled her eyes as Zander scowled before he got out a Poke ball and let it grow in his hand."

"In that case..." Zander said before he threw the Poke ball at the Gigantamax Drednaw who suddenly got sucked into the spherical capsule, it landed on the ground with an earth shaking thud and caused a light rumble each time it shook, Zander crossed his fingers and hoped for the best until the Poke ball finally shrunk down to it's normal size and let out a little right to declare a successful capture. Zander was overjoyed as he ran to the Poke ball to pick it up and held it skyward. "Alright, I just caught a Drednaw!" He triumphantly cried out while Mienshao let out a cheerful cry.

Brian smiled and slow clapped as he walked over to Zander. "He'll make an excellent addition to your team, Zander I know you'll train him well." Brian said while Heather nodded in agreement. "This was really fun! I enjoyed doing this with you guys!" Heather said with a giddy expression. Eric on the other hand was in the midst of walking away, he didn't even bother to look back and say goodbye, the other three looked at him with annoyance while he returned his Grimmsnarl.

"He could have at least said goodbye." Brian said as he returned his Gallade. "Yeah, I saw him battle once, the guy's merciless." Zander said with an annoyed expression. "I heard from a friend that he's one hell of a jerk, they clearly weren't kidding." She scoffed while her Dedenne adorably mimicked her trainer. Brian shrugged before he smiled at the pair. "In any case, this was a wonderful experience, it was great to take on a challenge like that every once in a while, especially with other interesting people like yourselves." He said and took his hat off to the pair.

"It was, thank you for joining us... and helping me score a new Pokemon. I can't wait to battle with him." Zander said as he threw his Poke ball upwards a few times. "Perhaps you and I can meet again someday and we can battle then?" Brian suggested as he put his hands in his pockets. "That sounds awesome, I'll be sure to train hard for when that day comes!" Zander replied confidently. "Don't forget about me, I may seem like just a pretty face, but I can hold my own as well!" Heather stated with the same level of confidence, Brian turned to her and nodded. "Clearly, that was certainly a devastating Solar Beam you unleashed." He said and went to pet Whimsicott's head. "You trained her well." He added while Heather giggled lightly.

A few minutes later, the trainers waked back out of the Max Lair and waved goodbye to each other as they went their separate ways. Brian decided it was best to go to the nearest town to recuperate from such a rough battle, and the nearest town happened to be Hammerlocke.

Of all the strange and ill-advised actions that could’ve been taken, Ron managed to choose the only one that had the entire audience dumbfounded. The trainer and his Skaromy swept in, not to land a finishing blow on the Pokémon poacher, but to...help her escape? Esther wasn’t sure what his angle was, his goals were clearly beyond her understanding.

As Ron proceeded to escape with a wanted criminal on national television, said wanted criminal decided then and there to show why she was indeed a wanted criminal. Despite being dragged off her Salamence, Hunter J was by no means helpless. With Ron already grabbing one of her arms it was easy enough for her to angle her wristlet at him, and as the cameras zoomed in to capture the aerial happening, J’s wristlet opened and revealed a canon, now pointed directly at Ron. It appeared the Hunter now had a hostage.

Lara felt her cheeks flush a little when Nicole asked to see her portfolio. It was a common reaction of hers whenever someone asked to see the pictures she has taken, but the reaction felt quite embarrassing.

"O-oh.. Well- Uh.." she stammered a bit with her gaze quickly bolting away from Nicole as she tried her best to gather her thoughts, "W-well, I don't have it with me right now, but I should have a couple of pictures on my phone.. I hope-" the reporter said and bug around in her bag for a moment before taking out her phone again. Navigating through her gallery for a few seconds she opened up an album, "Some of them are a bit old, but uh- yeah.." she said stumbling through the last bit of her sentence and turned her phone to Nicole to show the photographs.

Lara gave some time for the birdkeeper to take in the picture before scrolling to the next. All of them had their main subject be a pokemon or two. A Liepard lazing up on a tree branch. A Minccino mid run amongst the tall grass. An Emolga soaring high up in the sky. Two Sandiles bathing in the sand together. A Stoutland playing together with it's trainer. Three Pidoves standing by the ledge of a building with one of them extending it's wing as if greeting the photographer.

Ron, Motostoke, Galar.

Ron looked at the weapon aimed at him, surprised for a second and then chuckled. "Why do girls always end up pointing weapons at me?"

Evanes began flying straight, each moment being further and further away from the city that had been watching them battle a while ago. Ron wasn't too worried about the poacher shooting him, at least not yet. His Skamory was way faster than the paralyzed Salamence, so if she did shoot him, she probably wouldn't survive either the fall or his Pokemon's rampage. As far as he saw it, they both had an equal leverage. However, he needed to take advantage of the situation.

"Listen, how about a deal. I need to know information of where I can locate Team Rocket, in return I'll fly down in the middle of this wild area and let you go. Gives you a chance to escape. I can't promise you will get away, but knowing how famous you are, it shouldn't be an issue for you, right? Otherwise, you try and kill me and I try and kill you and we never get that cup of coffee together. What do you say?"

Ken Blake, rank 99

"Whoa, what's that guy thinking?" Still observing from afar through his binoculars, Ken witnessed the trainer on the Skarmory take off carrying the pokemon poacher after unleashing a discharge in the middle of the battlefield, hitting both allies and foe alike. "Could he be in league with J and was simply playing a long con? No that can't be right, one look at their body language and it clear she's just as confused as any of us here." The man commented. "Hmm, I have no idea what he might be planning but I don't think it'll be good to let them go free like this." He expressed. Deciding his next course of action, Ken looked towards his Salamence. "Let's follow them Crescent. Still maintaining our distance of course." He uttered.

On his trainer's command, the Salamence took off in the same direction Ron rode off carrying Hunter J, still staying a distance away as to not be targets of any attacks.

Bang!

Before Ron had even finished talking, the smoking barrel of J’s canon had given him an answer. Hunter J was entirely unconcerned with his feeble attempts and negotiating; frankly, his confidence pissed her off. A cold smirk crossed her lips, she wanted to see if he could still be so cocky while petrified. Imagine negotiating with a terrorist; what an idiot!

"So that's a no?"

Ron quickly removed his shirt, where the laser had hit, avoiding it having turn the rest of him to stone and throwing it off to the side. He tried, he really did. But it seemed he ran into another dead end and risking being turned to stone and crashing to his death was not a good way to keep hunting down Team Rocket. He tapped Evanes back, the Skarmory slowly began to descend.

"It was nice meeting you J." Ron released the poacher while at the same time reaching out for Marley's Pokeball and opening it to let the Raichu. "Thunderbolt."

He wasn't trying to kill her, once the Thunderbolt landed, hopefully knock her out and bust her weapon, he would swoop back around to get her and start flying towards the location of Wyntr.

Thursday, June 9 – Motostoke, Galar Region

Unfortunately for Ron, the last he’d see of Hunter J was a mocking smirk before the wanted criminal broke into hexagonal fragments of light! The thunderbolt passed through the air where the Hunter used to be—J was gone. Evidently the J the group had been battling was a fake—likewise, back in Motostoke her Salamence had also vanished, albeit it had retreated to the haze and its disappearance went unseen.

However, despite J’s disappearance Ron still had problems. In fact, he had many more problems. Approaching his location at top speed was Wynter and the thunderclouds brewing on her expression showed exactly what she thought of Ron’s stunt. It only took a few seconds for her to arrive in the air-space above Ron, judging by the speed of her mount—an Unfezant—it had used agility to catch up.

Glaring down at the punk trainer, the Ranger brandished her stylus.

“Ron Towers, you’re under arrest for collusion with a wanted criminal. You have the right to remain silent.”

Ron raised his hands and shook his head. "Okay okay, hold your Rapidash. Probably better if you let me land yeah?"

With a tap to Evanes, the metallic bird slowly landed on a small opening with her wings stretched out. Ron dismounted with his hands in the air still waiting for Wynter. "So do I get a phone call? Is Matt Murdock still a lawyer?"

He returned his Skamory back to her Pokeball and show no signs of trying to escape or anything. "So, now that you know that was a fake Hunter J, what you gonna do next? You're pro trainers seem to be lacking, so I'm hoping you're finally gonna step up yourself. Just curious though."

She wasn't exactly expecting to be dragged on to a tower, but it was training she asked for so that's what she was going to get here. Arriving at this tower and being prompted to select a Pokémon to train with here, Dawn had been quick to head back into her Trainer's bag while the eager Vulpix had been fast to step up here.

"I'm using Mocha, the Vulpix I have here. Apologies if the fire type seems unfair against the Bellsprout."

It was barely unlike Colored to care about the safety of Pokémon here, whether hers or anybody else's. But hey, maybe Mocha could branch out to some higher potential while she was in this tower here.

June 11, Saturday - Violet City, Johto. Reina, current rank, 45,385.

"Bellsprout might be weak to fire types, but they are also very strong poison types." The Sage gave Colored a smile as he stepped to the side and gestured them towards the first stair case. "We will wait for you at the top."

Reina gave Colored a thumbs up, before rushing up ahead of her. She knew her friend had an advantage with a fire type and moving up with Diva would be difficult. Just like she had predicted, each battle was tough and tiring for Reina and Diva, the first few opponents gave them a hard time, having to depend on Metronome to pull out a good move to secure the win. It took them a good while, until they finally reached the top floor, were the battles were even more difficult since the Bellsprout there were even higher leveled and they had a partner Hoothoot.

After a hard earned battle and using a potion and antidote, Reina and Diva managed to beat the final Sage. They both stood proudly as they were told they had a strong bond and he admired Diva's determination to prove how great she was. However, the Clefairy clearly had attention issues, something Reina had never noticed.

"You're up Colored, wish you the best of luck! You get a cool Flash TR." She held up the small white disc. "We'll wait here for you okay? Don't wanna interrupt your fight with the Sage, he's pretty strong."

Her own fights with Mocha had went fairly smoothly to say the least, the Vulpix's <Ember> drilling through most Bellsprout she encountered but nothing major had happened along her route to the top where this final Sage was.

"Flash... hm. Nearly anyone could learn that thing, but-"

"Vao!"

"Oh, sorry Mocha. Let's just play it careful this time."

The Vulpix was quick to stand her ground, the previous battles beginning to show as it almost seemed like she could do something new this time around. But whether the fire fox would show this with or without Colored picking up on it first was currently a matter only time would solve.

Master Sage, Bellsprout Tower

"Welcome, I see we had two skilled trainers this evening. Remember, this isn't just about winning, but a learning experience about you and your Pokemon. Let us begin."

The Sage gently tossed a Pokeball forward, letting out a dancing Bellsprout, despite being in a battle, it seemed really happy to be out and about. It moved around awkwardly, it's thin vine body moving at an unpredictable rhythm. It started moving from left to right, taking short steps and moving in a swaying way towards the Vulpix.

"Let's us start with Vine Whip!"

The dancing grass type kept moving, but at the same time, two large green vines emerged from behind it's yellow head, reaching towards the fire fox.

The Vulpix hadn't really been expecting such a lively attitude from the Bellsprout, causing her to totally ignore the oncoming <Vine Whip> and get a fair strike to the nose (plus a mild deal to the throat) thanks to it. Though the affected areas were probably random, it didn't take long for Colored to piece something together.

"Is it... trying to block off <Ember>? If they were... I like the style, but we need to hold it off somewhat. <Will-O-Wisp> to get things going."

The small fire fox nodded before her tails glowed somewhat with a lavender shine, three small fireballs coming out from them and launching towards the Bellsprout. If all went well, it would inflict a burn and slow the plant down considerably.

Master Sage, Bellsprout Tower

"That's an excellent move, but my Bellsprout isn't a push over like the others."

The grass type Pokemon kept doing it's weird dance, just barely avoiding the incoming Will-O-Wisp, almost as if he had practiced his whole life to move around such attack. Once again, he was faced with the Vulpix, but his moments kept going, random steps to the right and random steps to the left.

"Wrap!"

One vine emerged from the back of Bellsprout's head, aiming to grab one of Vulpix's leg. The idea was to limit its opponent's movement so he would have better control avoiding her attacks.

Nicole Newman, June 9th, Budew Drop Inn, Motostoke, Galar

Nicole looked at the pictures that Lara had ready, taking her time to analyze the pictures. Ignoring Lara's fumbles, the woman looked at her pictures with a sharp eye. The pictures were of good quality and showed a lot of passion, even if they were a bit old. As she finished seeing all of the pictures, the woman smiled at Lara. "You've got talent, those are some good pictures. You can take pride in them, I have yet to see any pictures that get close to that level."

Stretching her arms, Nicole covered her mouth as she yawned. "Excuse me, but I think I'll go to sleep. It's been a busy day and you are probably tired as well. Thank you for bringing me here, good night." She stood up and made her way to her room, untying her hair as she fell asleep.

Nicole awoke early, getting dressed and getting a simple breakfast as she waited for Lara to show up. It was the reasonable thing to do, as the redheaded girl did get her a place to sleep. As she took a sip of her coffee, she looked out of the window. It was going to be a nice day for flying, clear skies with decent winds. Hopefully Cassidy would behave herself, she really did not want to deal with an angry Skarmory. She could handle an angry Cassidy, but Lara? She had her doubts.

Ezio Farello, June 10th, Sky Fortress, Oblivia

Morning had come in the Oblivia region, and a night of discomfort left to make place for it. Ezio awoke with a sore body, the result of falling asleep on what was essentially a giant rock. Pasados' Rhyperior had yet to let go of the man, and he was forced to sleep against the Drill Pokémon. As the sun rays shone on the Pokémon, she awoke with a big yawn, revealing her sharp teeth. Still, she seemed to be very friendly, as if she didn't see Ezio as a threat. The Rhyperior looked around before her eyes landed on the armor, causing her to let her head hang. The grief was still fresh.

Unable to do much more, Ezio patted the Pokémon's stomach in an attempt to comfort her. Minutes passed before the Rhyperior let Ezio go and she stood up, clearly stiff due to old age. The man wasted no time in getting up, though he also was not immune to old age or a bad night's rest. Rolling his shoulders, he picked up the armor and showed it to the Rhyperior, who finally seemed to accept the fact that her old partner was no longer among them. The Rock type let out one last wailing cry before turning to Ezio, staring at him patiently, as if waiting for something.

Ezio understood what the Rhyperior waited for and reached into his satchel. The only Pokéballs he had available were Timer Balls, but it felt fitting for how long this girl had to wait for a resolution of what happened to her partner. Offering the Timer Ball to the Pokémon, she touched the ball and got engulfed in a red glow, before entering the ball and being caught. Looking down at his new partner, Ezio clutched the ball close to his chest before looking up at the sky, a breeze blowing through his hair. As he looked at the blue sky, the man whispered.

"I will take good care of her."

With the Rhyperior having a good home, that left the Rock Armor. Laws and regulations meant that he couldn't just take it home, as that was essentially graverobbing and could get his permit revoked. It wasn't as if he had a will or something from Pasados either. Whilst no one knew it existed, and he could easily write it off as an held item, it would not sit right with him. He'd have to turn it in to a museum or return it to the site where he found it, and the latter was not the most appealing option. He felt the power of the regular armor, let alone this specialized armor. He could not let this fall into the wrong hands.

Lara Brook - June 9th - Budew Inn, Motostoke, Galar

A shy smile curled up on Lara as Nicole complimented her work. She pocketed her phone and gave a little wave and a quick, "Night," to follow social etiquette. When the woman disappeared from the lobby, Lara felt her shoulders slump and she sighed. She'd been putting up a more peppy appearance, but now with Nicole gone she really felt exhaustion taking it's toll on her. Unfortunately, she couldn't rest yet. She had some work to do still and it wasn't going to get done by just sitting there.

So, the red haired reporter got up and made her way to her room. She stayed up for some time, going through her notes she took from the Hydreigon situation, or well right before it escalated, cleaning them up some to ready them to be sent over to the writers at KENN, as well as the interview she recorded with the officer. Rotom was out of their pokeball and out of the camera form as well, giving their trainer some company as she worked. Lara went through both memory cards of her and her pokemon's camera just to weed out any flat out unusable pictures. She'll send her notes and the remaining pictures in the morning, since she won't get a reply for today anymore. She was clicking through the pictures, her eyes glazing quickly over them before moving to the next and then she stopped at the last one that was in the cards memory. It was a picture of the Hydreigon as it was in the middle of growing in size, red energy swirling around it as rage burned brightly in its eyes. Today was something else..

Rotom snickered as they interpreted Lara's stop as admiring this particular photo. The red haired woman threw a glance at her pokemon, a slight smile curled up, "That's pretty good. Wouldn't be surprised if KENN ends up using it," she complimented her partner. She slumped back in her chair and sighed, "Well, that was all the photo's.. All of my notes are written up and I'll do a quick check tomorrow that I have everything ready," Lara said and then stretched. She made herself ready for bed, but not before putting batteries to charge overnight for the camera's and then she flopped onto her bed.

Lara Brook - June 10th - Budew Inn, Motostoke, Galar

Lara awoke to the alarm she set on her phone. She then closed it and turned around to try and sleep some more, but after a minute or so a second alarm rang out. This cycle repeated a few times until she finally got up and made herself ready for the day. Or well, ready enough to go and get breakfast at the Inn. She made her way to the dining area and gave off one last stretch to shake off some of her morning grogginess. Well, if she was honest she wouldn't properly wake up until she's gotten a cup of coffee in her system. Getting something to eat and her beverage she then scanned around to try and see any free tables to sit at by herself.

Nicole Newman, June 10th, Budew Drop Inn, Motostoke, Galar

Looking around, Nicole's eyes landed on Lara and she got up, grabbing a muffin along the way for the girl. "Good morning, Lara, slept well?" The woman asked, offering Lara the muffin. "Here, for you. You probably need the energy for your job." Taking a sip of her coffee, Nicole took a seat. "Got any wild plans today? Any front page cover stories to write about?"

Lara Brook - June 10th - Budew Inn, Motostoke, Galar

Lara was surprised to see Nicole, but more so that she was coming over to talk with her, "Hi- Uh, I think I slept alright," she replied, giving the bird keeper a slight smile despite being a bit tired still, as she wasn't really a morning person.

"Oh, thanks," the red haired woman accepted the muffin since she didn't want to be rude and decline it. "No.. I hope not haha. I'm not a writer, but I do work with them since I'm 'out on the field' so to say. Give them my notes as well as working with some other people to put together articles," Lara explained, not really going into detail and just trying to tell enough to suffice a decent answer. Yesterday was still fresh in her mind and she truly hoped it would take some time until she'd be a part of anything like that ever again. Luckily for her then, she was just going to sit behind a screen today, unless she'll get a message to go out if KENN warranted her to do so. Maybe after she's done with her work for the day she could just go out and explore Motostoke some more. See what this Galarian city has to offer while she was staying there.

"Mind if I sit with you?" Lara asked Nicole. Her original plan was to sit alone, but there was the risk of a stranger taking a seat if the diner got really packed. So better to sit with someone you've acquainted with than to awkwardly share a table with a stranger.

Nicole Newman, June 10th, Budew Drop Inn, Motostoke, Galar

"So you are basically the one out and about, finding things to cover? Sounds like a fun job." Nicole said, smiling at Lara. "By all means, go ahead. I'm not really a fan of sitting with a stranger." The woman gestured to the seat next to her as she took a sip of her coffee. "Did that Hydreigon story ever get published? It's completely slipped my mind to check."

Colored
Violet City (Sprout Tower), June 11th

Though being bewildered at the dodge of her <Will-O-Wisp>, Colored didn't really have very much time to think before Mocha had suddenly freaked out over her leg being caught up in a sudden <Wrap>. While the Vulpix was panicking, a compromised strategy had come into the Trainer's focus.

"So they ARE limiting our movements, huh. Alright then. Mocha, <Ember>. And use it on that vine."

The Vulpix's move was very hasty, the flames of an <Ember> quickly igniting in her mouth and then shooting down onto the vine that was gripping onto her leg. It would be hard to avoid this with such a close range attack, and a more direct and damaging blow seemed better than a close-up <Will-O-Wisp> in Colored's eyes.

Lara Brook - June 10th - Budew Inn, Motostoke, Galar

Lara flashed a smile to Nicole and took a seat and took a quick sip of her coffee before answering, "There's probably something to update the public out there, but I could be wrong about that.." she answered. She had yet to check the news either, but she usually did that after breakfast either way. On top of that, she was still learning the ropes of working at KENN, so all she had really focused on was her part of this process.

"How's your Skarmory? Cas.. Cassidy, right?" The red haired woman asked, feeling like she should contribute more to this conversation and not just answering questions prompted by Nicole. She remembered that her Rotom had frightened, or at least upset the metallic bird and she did want to know if she was alright.

Master Sage, Bellsprout Tower

"Good move!" The Master Sage congratulated Colored.

At the same time, the Bellsprout released the Vulpix, while shaking his vine wildly to try and put out the flames as it panicked. The grass type did a complete turn on his attitude though as he seemed upset the Vulpix got one over him. He was hurt and upset, which brought him to use the next move.

"Acid!"

Bellsprout shot a ball of sludge from his mouth towards the fire fox, hoping to land a direct hit on it.

Colored
Violet City (Sprout Tower), June 11th

Well that wasn't really a good thing at all. Despite Mocha being thrilled the flaming vine idea worked, she was hardly expecting the <Acid> lump to come hurtling towards her in the way that it did. Though being a bit lost on what to do, a bit of murmuring and a power surge came upon her in a fairly sudden matter.

"Oh... only a Ground or Psychic type could thwart this somehow..."

Psychic... Psychic, of course!

The Vulpix was quick to back up on her paws (heels?) and prepare what looked to be a <Growl> but then totally threw a curveball as her eyes suddenly turned a bright lavender as she called out, the blob of <Acid> halting in place and then being split apart by seemingly nothing right in front of Colored's stunned yet intrigued eyes. Yet it didn't take long for her to notice.

"Did you...? No, you just learnt that, didn't you? <Extrasensory>... right! Combine this with <Will-O-Wisp> again!"

Mocha was quick to comply, once again letting three <Will-O-Wisp> flares out before shooting them towards the Bellsprout at a faster speed than usual thanks to the new <Extrasensory> boost.

Master Sage, Bellsprout Tower

"Whoa!"

Both the Master Sage and his Bellsprout were taken back by the improvement of the Vulpix mid battle. The grass type didn't even have a chance to react as the three Will-o-Wisp hit straight on, causing it to tumble backwards. The sage let out a hearty laugh as he reached for his Pokeball and returned his Pokemon.

"I know when we have been defeated. I believe you two just reached a new level and I am happy to have been witness to that." The Master Sage walked over to Colored, offering her a Flash TR. "This move will help you illuminate your journey during dark times and I hope your training here will illuminate your life when your mind is tormented."

Reina ran over to Colored, her eyes gleaming with delight. "That was great! How did you stop that Acid though? I couldn't hear the moves you were using so I was really surprised when you just flicked it to the sides."
