I am just waiting for floyd and pen to post before I do a combo post again
Well, back on the topic of RP and characters. I've been looking around the internet a bit looking for images of characters that I think could resemble Salem, to give you guys maybe a bit more of an impression. And I found that the closest match is Sharrkan, a character from the manga Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic. So when you picture Salem just imagine this guy, with Pokeballs instead of a sword, no golden chains, and somewhat more conventional clothing, though not necessarily more modest
The only image that I found resembles Floyd is my profile picture. I do have another picture, but I'll save that for a scene of some kind.
I'm not sure if he's a character from an anime/manga or just some random piece of art that someone just drew up one day. Either way, it's the closest I've gotten so far.
Hmm, I actually have drawings of Cassie, though, none too officialized yet.I'm gonna try and get some art commissioned for Delilah at some point. I also want to get some art done for my newest character Diana.
On a side note I truly can't wait to see how dark this RP will be. Especially since a lot of goofines is going on lol
Hmm, I actually have drawings of Cassie, though, none too officialized yet.
Aaand here's what she used to look like for good measure.
I have a whole series dedicated to her actually, if you're willing to check out some of my artwork XDD They're pretty old, half-assed, and not too good though--
On an unrelated note, can I just say how much of a hot piece of mocha hunk Salem is?
Thanks! That's awesome! I totally didn't have her image right in my noggin. I love her look! :3
I'm glad you said that <w< you are not alone

But yeah, I'll post soon.

Her hair was a lot smaller, and so was the fedora. I thought she dressed heavily for some reason as well.Haha, really? What did you think she looked like? XD
Wow nice! I really like the style you kept for this drawing. It's totally inspiring me to try my hand at something for Salem sometime as well. Also, Cassie looks exactly the way I imagined her based on your description, down to her clothes even. I think you did great portraying her in your scenes.Hmm, I actually have drawings of Cassie, though, none too officialized yet.
Hah! I'm glad to hear you think so, but Salem himself is only half conscious of how he looks. You may have noticed he has a little bit of an attention disorder, therefor his mind is usually distracted by other things and his impressions of them rather than how he may appear/appeal to others. But that is just part of his charm I think/hope.On an unrelated note, can I just say how much of a hot piece of mocha hunk Salem is?
Haha, thanks so much ^^ I'm glad I've been able to keep a certain consistency with her, it's definitely rewarding to have people notice that.Wow nice! The question now is how much of his character stays intact once he gets exposed to the dark things in life. So far he's always managed to look on the sunny side of everything and his journey has been one of joy and excitement. But yeah, I do think Salem's aloofness adds to his charm. Girls like cool guys who seem disinterested in them, and on top of that, he's quite a gentleman too. Salem's laid back attitude is definitely a nice addition to the colorful cast we have.
Oh Mina's comments in the story made me think of something. Originally I had planned for Salem not to have a Pokedex or some Professor personally looking after his exes Pokemon (partly why he has so relatively few). I always assumed not everyone would have the connections and be charged collecting data for some experimental device, or did the Pokedex become a mandatory piece of equipment in the years I haven't been paying attention? Regardless, be he the odd one out or not, I don't think Salem will have a Pokedex and has always done things on instinct and personal experiences unless that would make him too unique. What's the general consensus on this?
I don't really know most of these Pokegirls. I always thought Natsume (Sabrina) was pretty cool, and some years ago I stumbled upon a some Erika Fan Art that instantly made me fall in love her
But browsing these girls I think Phoebe looks cool. She certainly seems she'd have things in common with Salem.
No, only trainers hand selected by professors get Pokedexes I'd say. I think Nova's right, Mina was just poking fun at Salem. Because Cassie doesn't have a 'dex either.Oh Mina's comments in the story made me think of something. Really? Delilah is totally my type then!Holy smokes! She's pretty much how I imagined Bee, aside from the clothes of course; also, Bee has green eyes.
Don't apologize for posting a lot if its constructive to the story, or at least not destructive. You should be puffing your chest and gloat a little. Take a page from Delilah's book.I feel kinda bad for posting two posts within such short spans of each other.
I do have a bunch of free time though so I couldn't put it to waste.
I just can't help but find Mina incredibly adorable. It took all the self control I had not to have Salem break character and just pick her up and cuddle her madly.Mina blinked as Salem patted her head before he turned around and walked away. She looked very confused and turned toward Ecarte. "Ecarte why would a trainer come to this level of tournament if they are not elite? I don't understand, don't they want to win. Why compete if you are not prepared to win." Ecarte just looked at her and shrugged, "Gardeee." Mina just shook her head, "he makes my head hurt teddy." She sighed and walked into the hotel, followed by Ecarte.
This part here suggests to me that something may have happened in his past, that he can say what he said with such conviction. I wonder what that something could be... I'm gonna have to think on this and start planning stuff out.He looked the girl right in the eyes then as he continued in an uncharacteristically serious manner. “There is no meaning in reaching a destination if you didn’t enjoy the journey there.”
The girl blinked, but before she could say anything Salem’s lopsided grin was back in place. “At least that’s what I believe anyway.”
Boy, can I agree with this. When I first created Cassie, I had written out a beginning, middle, and end for her. I started with her already at the top of her game, and at number one, the only way you can go is down. I pretty much wanted to do the opposite of the 'being the very best that no one ever was'. I had her be the best but then made her slide down into obscurity and ruin. The beginning, middle, and end I created for her became one whole new beginning. It's actually quite amazing how I based Cassie off of myself, and then watching her grow into her own.Coming up with a full rounded character from the get go is just too much work and very hard to maintain, so I make sure to leave little comments and hooks everywhere that could be hinting at something more in case I later come up with something. After nearly two decades It's happening pretty much unconsciously now.
I never had any experience with tabletop roleplays. I grew up just doing free form (specifically starting on MySpace in 2005 or 2006). I pretty much only role played as pre-made characters, then started making my own.
I agree, though. The characters develop themselves over time as you are forced to think how they'd react to different scenarios. Not to mention how inspiration can bite you when you least expect it. I mean just a couple days ago I started building my own story for Delilah's brother, thanks to Floyd and his Staryu.
I'm sure that anyone here, who's played Pokemon Go for a while, understands this .gif painfully well.
Doesn't Floyd seem like really nice kid brother to have? Maybe it's because I'm an older brother myself, but I feel myself rooting for Floyd and feeling a strange sense of pride whenever he does something good. Followed by a desire to grab him around the neck and give him a playful nuggie that messes up his hair and forces him to put his glasses back on straight.I mean just a couple days ago I started building my own story for Delilah's brother, thanks to Floyd and his Staryu.
I understand the feeling man. I'm playing the game by myself as well. I say playing, but it's really that whenever I see the sun shine, a rare occurrence in this country, I just want a reason to be outside and walk around.I stopped playing Pokemon GO after I got to level 10. It just ended up getting kinda boring. Especially when you don't have anyone to play it with.
Haha aww, thanks Tepig! XD Now that I look over that example again, Cassie does very dangerously borderline that example, but, not to worry, I've ran her through the Mary Sue tests and she comes out clean every time.I just realized something hilarious about Cassie. You know how in the rules, Elyseon talks about Mary Sues, and gives one example. Its funny how close Cassie is to that Mary Sue example, and yet far enough that I feel she is the most human and intriguing character I've ever met. Just goes to show how well you made her.
